Annielle is a Swedish artist, guitar player and songwriter. Annie Kullén, i.e. Annielle's real name, was born into a family of musicians in the small town Malmbäck in Småland county. When Annielle was ten years she started playing classical guitar and also to make her own songs. She lives in Jönköping, Sweden where she develops her own unique music. Annielle describes her music as acoustic pop with a touch of folk and country. Annielles signature sound is her warm soothing voice in combination with finger picking acoustic guitars. She came to national attention through her hit single ”Summer Love”. Her songs often depict everyday life situations, anything in between the topics of homelessness, existence and love.
“The Dreamers” is an addictive new pop tune layered with contagious acoustic melodies and Annielle’s well known smooth vocals. With undertones of folk and country, “The Dreamers” is a timeless hit. Hi Annielle! Can you tell us more about your upbringing and musical influences growing up?
I was raised in a musical family. My father worked as a music teacher and cantor. I grew up singing gospel music and hymns in the church and started to play the classical guitar at early age. As a teenager I started to write and sing my own songs and besides I was listening to artists like Sting, Alanis Morisette, Lenny Kravitz, Stacey Kent and Björk. Artists that inspired my songwriting and still inspires me.
What’s the main message you want to spread in “The Dreamers”?
If you have a dream, don’t let it slip away. Dreams are powerful and makes your path full of meaning. Trust your gut feeling and don’t worry so much about what other people think about your way of living.
What do you hope your listeners take away from your music as a whole?
I hope my music gives a feeling of peace and joy.
What is your writing process like?
I often write lyrics first. When ever I feel inspired I write lyrics using my smartphone. Then I sit with my guitar and try out different melodies. Lately I been working with mind maps and found it very creative and fun.
What’s your stage presence like?
When I’m on stage I often feel peaceful and calm. I love to be on stage telling stories and hopefully inspire people.
