Welcome to BuzzMusic, Lorraine Bautista. We're truly in awe of the passionate atmosphere and loving vibe of your sophomore single, "Frontline." What inspired you to write such an emotional and affectionate track?

Thank you! ‘Frontline’ is a laidback summer track and was written for those looking for inspiration in times of uncertainty and doubt— feelings I often struggle with myself as an artist in this industry. ‘Frontline’ is for my hustlers and baddies out there who are chasing a vision! It’s really about having faith even when others don’t believe in you.

What was your songwriting process like for "Frontline?" Was it easy to be so open when writing your passionate lyrics?

It did take some time to flesh out the song. I wrote most of the lyrics and do want to give credit to Anita from Metronote, who helped in structuring the song. Anita encouraged me throughout the entire process, along with SOS Dynamikz, who created the rhythm, and Gary Jones, who did an amazing job on the mixing & mastering — all of who brought the entire track to life. My main goal in the writing process was to keep the words and lyrics simple, all the while containing a message of hope and perseverance.

What was your goal for the overall vibe and atmosphere of "Frontline?" What did you want listeners to feel after experiencing the song?

My objective behind the track is to empower women and spread the message that anything is possible when you don’t give up & when you have faith in yourself (& with God, of course). It’s about having the courage and stepping into your own regardless of what others may think.

How does "Frontline" contrast with your debut single, "Had It All?" What are the key differences between these two songs that make up your current discography?

Definitely, “Had It All” is more of a classic pop ballad with minimal instrumentation: piano & strings. With “Frontline,” I wanted to explore more of an urban sound that has more of a trap RnB flow to it while still incorporating a bit of that old-school soulful sound I’ve always loved as well. While I do like that LA urban trap sound, I’d still like to stay true to my love for classic old-school music, which I definitely want to keep in my sound as I continue to create and grow as an artist.
