Hey LVPSE, welcome to BuzzMusic! We're completely mesmerized by your single "Summer Where We Are (feat. Eliza Grace & Evan Paulson)". What inspired you to create this song, and when did you begin your creative process?
Thanks for having me! This is dope. I've had this hook written about how I am the author of my own perspective and I have to remember to seek out silver linings and remain in gratitude, I can only manifest positivity by thinking positive and embodying positive energy. When the music finally began to take shape and I had found what I considered to be the perfect vibe, it reminded me so much of living in the moment, staying present and going wild... feeling that freedom with someone that says, " The world may be as cold as Winter, but it's always Summer where we are."
LVPSE's single "Summer Where We Are (feat. Eliza Grace & Evan Paulson)" features two incredibly dreamy vocalists. What was your collaborative process like, and how did Eliza Grace and Evan Paulson add to the vibe you were going for?
Evan has been a friend of mine for over a decade, he works so fast & I knew he would be perfect for the harmonies I needed to elevate these vocals a bit. When he freestyled his take on the bridge, I was all about it. The dude is so talented and creative - check out Evan Paulson - Co-Pilot EP.
Eliza performed at an Emo Nite I attended here in LA last year, and one of my main co-writer of this song, Christian Kwitkowski, happened to be her guitarist. I feel like we painted a very colorful scene with her in this song. Another huge piece of this song came from hitting up John Benoit, the guitarist of a swancore band in LA named Resilia to fill in the solo section. Dude shreds in such a unique way. His part in the video is definitely one of the highlights haha. The sum of these genres gives the tone of the song an aesthetic that's in a league of its own.
Speaking on the music video for "Summer Where We Are (feat. Eliza Grace & Evan Paulson)", there are a variety of beautifully shot scenes of nature and cities. Did you shoot these scenes yourself, and how did you come across the theme for the music video?
I wanted the video to bring a visual representation of what life can look like if we choose to carve an adventure into every day. Live for the moment, at the moment. I wanted to inspire others to run free. The artistic direction and editing were all me, but the scenes were shot by various amazing photographers.
We've heard that LVPSE took a needed leap of faith into your artistic career, and it's clearly paying off. Now that you're an established artist, is there anything you'd like to mention to help get to know LVPSE better, and what your brand stands for and represents?
I pursue my hearts' deepest truths and strive to hold no real attachment or expectation on the outcome. I play life like a game, and try to enjoy the view along the way, If all of life is but a dream, and I'm just living lucidly, what on Earth could stop me?
What does the rest of 2020 look like for you?
I'm writing songs with a new collective across the country called "Unconscious States." There is an infinite amount of ground to cover. I'm grateful to be on this journey of self-discovery.
