The Denver-born, New-York based artist enlists Rich The Kid for a breakout banger of a track.
Tristan Gonzales, aka Magnificent T, has exploded onto the scene with his raw, authentic style, relatable lyrics and love of the hustle. Born in Denver and raised in New York, Magnificent T’s passion for music began at a young age and was inspired by a wide range of genres, including Rock and Hip Hop. He started rapping at the tender of 13 years old, biding his time and honing his craft in preparation for his inevitable breakout year.
Not one to allow himself or his music to stagnate, Magnificent T’s journey in music has been marked by growth and experimentation. Not wanting to settle for something less than what he felt was perfect, T changed his stage name and musical style multiple times before deciding on "Magnificent T." His first single, "One Day," dropped in 2018, followed by "Better Place" and "Stop Talking," both of which showcased a more personal side of the artist and illustrated a vulnerability rare for the genre.
“Get Down” is one of Magnificent T’s latest works and shows how years of dedication have finally paid off. Featuring Hip-Hop mainstay Rich The Kid, “Get Down” is poised to break Magnificent T through to the next level, amassing 30k streams in the first week alone on Spotify. Featuring both catchy instrumentals and hook (courtesy of Rich The Kid), Magnificent T impressively holds his own against a rap heavyweight, dropping bars like “When we in town we run this shit / Hitting every city there’s not one we miss” with a confidence that’s simply infectious.
“Get Down” is the culmination of years of hard work and time spent perfecting his craft. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream “Get Down,” available now on all major streaming platforms.
Welcome to BuzzMusic, Magnificent T! We loved “Get Down”; what an intro to your music! We have to ask, what was the inspiration for “Get Down”? What inspired you to make this song?
There wasn't much inspiration for it. It was one of those tracks where I just wrote what came to mind and went with the flow of it, and it came together well. It was one of my favourite tracks I've made thus far.
You mentioned you were born in Denver but raised in New York. How did growing up in a city with such rich musical history as New York influence you as an artist?
I mainly grew up in the Upstate area of NY, so it was different than the city. There wasn't much Hip Hop in the area I grew up in, but music was a big part of my childhood on all different genres.
You mentioned you got into music at a very young age. What made you want to pursue music as a career seriously, and what drives your ability to keep putting the work in daily?
Other family members also did music, and I mainly listened to classic rock before my early teens. Then I got into Hip Hop and realized I wanted to do that. My goal is to make this a career so that and wanted success and to better my life is what keeps me going and keeping at it every day.
For any new listeners, how would you describe your music?
I would describe my sound as a blend of New and Old School Hip Hop. So whether you like old or new Rap, I got you covered.
What’s next for Magnificent T? Can we expect to hear more new music soon?
I have some more big plans and tracks coming this year. I have a big announcement I plan on dropping this coming month in May, so keep an eye out for that!
