No more nights spent crying over you.
Toronto’s Rachelle Show has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting talents in the industry today, captivating audiences with a signature sound that honours the legendary early 2000s pop and R&B era while remaining incredibly forward-thinking.
Proudly repping her Congolese and Filipina heritage, Rachelle’s diverse background and eclectic influences have all contributed to her unique sound. Thus far, her musical journey has reflected a deep, practically reverential dedication to her craft, and with the level of artistic drive she’s displayed so far, we suspect there’s nowhere but up to go for this talented artist.
In many ways, Rachelle’s musical journey has been a long time coming. As the daughter of the late, great Show-do-man, a two-time Juno Award-nominated Afro artist, she’s had big shoes to fill.
Although her father tragically passed when she was eleven, Rachelle’s perseverance would shine brightly. Having carried the torch forward with her mantra, “The Show Must Go On,” we believe she’s filled her father’s shoes sevenfold, stealing her audience’s breaths with releases like “Stranger” and “I’m Done.” Having held audiences spellbound on stages like Tiff, Afro Fest, and History Toronto, it’s clear that Rachelle has everything it takes to be a star.
Rachelle’s remix of “I’m Done” is, simply put, a marvelous showcase of her versatility and ability to flip a track on its head, even with what feels like a slight change in delivery and instrumental performance. Whereas the initial version leaned heavily on its R&B sound, the remix fuses this with a significant afro and amapiano touch.
However, even though the two versions may sound different, the thing that remains constant in both is Rachelle’s stunning vocal delivery, powerfully delivering lines like “Im done, running back to you / Im done, Tryna see this thru / Im done, Crying all night about you baby / I gotta find me.” The future of Toronto’s music scene is bright indeed.
Rachelle Show’s musical journey is filled with honest, transparent, and unmitigated emotion and empowerment, a narrative that resonates deeply with listeners.
