Brazilian-Indian artist Rita Shukla has always had a penchant for the arts. She’s been a creative force even since her early years in Brazil, where she began music classes at just four years old.
After mastering the keyboard and honing her vocal talents, Rita’s infatuation for the arts led her to a bachelor’s degree in acting in Brazil, exposing her to a higher level of creative expression and laying the groundwork for her future in music. Having taken a pivotal step by moving to LA to study musical theatre, this multi-talented artist hasn’t looked back since, impressing at every turn.
Shukla’s theatrical background would quickly come in handy, helping her seamlessly transition into a music career. She would quickly establish herself as a strong creative force, fronting several indie rock bands. One of them is Volti Cabaret, a Spanish indie rock group that became a fixture in LA nightlife.
After Volti Cabaret disbanded, Rita and producer Ted Perlman (who she met fronting for Volti Cabaret) continued their partnership, resulting in the release of well-received singles like “Get Up And Go” in 2023 and “Young While We Can” in 2024.
