Robbarti Watches His Love Turn Into A Stranger On “Moving Away”

What’s left after you accept that everything is over?

From the bustling streets of Glasgow, Scotland, emerged Robbarti—a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose melodies paint vivid tales of love, loss, and the relentless journey of self-discovery.

With each note, he invites listeners into a world where emotions run deep and stories unfold poignantly. As his grand artistic vision continues to captivate audiences everywhere he sets foot, Robbarti is a name that you’re going to want to keep on your radar.

Robbarti first made waves as the frontman of indie rock outfit Hip Parade, catapulting to fame after their stint on a TV show in 2008. With regular radio airplay and performances alongside iconic bands like The Strokes and Stereophonics, Robbarti’s tenure with Hip Parade was a resounding success.

However, after Hip Parade split in 2013, Robbarti took a hiatus from music to embrace fatherhood and a new chapter in life. As he makes his return to the scene, he does so gracefully, armed with a wealth of experience and the same musical sense and joy that endeared us to him in the first place.

A decade later, on the anniversary of Hip Parade's album “I'll Be Your Audience,” Robbarti has reemerged to breathe new life into previously unheard tracks from the band’s repertoire. “Moving Away” is the first of these singles, and as soon as the guitar and drums ease you into the first moments of the song, you’re instantly transported to a nostalgic soundscape.

Although Robbarti’s vocals might sound mellow at first, lyrics like “I hope that you don’t think about me / Cause I won’t be there, and that’s okay” give the underlying emotions away. Robbarti’s ability to so succinctly capture emotion, even in subtle ways, is once again on full display. If anything is clear, it’s that Robbarti seemingly hasn’t missed a step, even during his hiatus.

“Moving Away” is a charming release that obscures the slight melancholy of acceptance and letting go of Robbarti’s impressive ability to mask and express emotion at the same time.
