"Enigma Intro" is a raw, unguarded piano ballad that serves as a confessional of SEDA's struggle with vulnerability. It's as if he's inviting us to walk alongside him on this emotional journey, promising honesty and authenticity in every note. Moving onto a more upbeat vibe, “Underdog" is a compelling hip-hop tale of triumph woven with catchy pop melodies. SEDA's childhood story of overcoming obstacles and rising to each challenge is relatable and inspiring, like a movie montage that makes you want to root for the hero, a true rocky story.

The intricate arrangements and polished soundscapes showcase SEDA's skill as a musician and his attention to detail and commitment to creating a captivating listening experience. Slowing the pace back down with the third vibe, “Falling" is a love letter to a new romance wrapped in the warm embrace of retro soul. Furthermore, the album's lyrical content is deeply personal and emotionally charged, reflecting SEDA's willingness to delve into his own experiences and share them with his audience. This vulnerability makes for powerful storytelling and establishes a strong connection between the artist and his listeners.
"Adios," a Latin acoustic song penned by Johnny Silvestry III, tells the story of saying goodbye to a partner, while "Losing You" showcases SEDA's vulnerability and ability to find strength in adversity. Songs like "Just Friends" and "Back to Love" delve into the complexities of relationships, emphasizing the importance of emotional depth and genuine connection. The deeply personal track "Flatline" pays tribute to SEDA's late father, serving as a means of healing and expressing lingering emotions after losing a loved one. "Blessed Outro" is a retro soul track highlighting SEDA's unwavering faith and resilience, making it a powerful and inspiring conclusion to the album.

Welcome to BuzzMusic SEDA! Kudos to letting your heart live on your sleeve on "The Voice of An Enigma," a captivating title that piques curiosity. Can you share the inspiration behind the album title and how it relates to the themes and messages you aimed to convey throughout the project? Thank you very much!! This album was a 3-year process. The title pretty much describes where I currently am in my life. I have embarked on a spiritual journey and uncovered alot of my childhood scars, and new folks often misunderstand me and often some of the existing people in my life. In protecting myself, I have also not shared many parts of myself to avoid judgment. This album was a vehicle to allow people a bit more into my world emotionally and spiritually. I wanted people to understand me a bit more and break the armour I built to feel less puzzling and misunderstood. I am very layered with many interests and feel it is the right time to reveal certain parts of me untouched, evidenced in several tracks such as "Enigma, underdog & blessed." The album chronicles a relationship I was in and my relationship with myself, which is why there are so many themes.
With "The Voice of An Enigma" showcasing such a diverse range of musical styles, how did you maintain a cohesive sound while exploring various genres? Were there specific elements you focused on to achieve this balance in your album? I wanted the album to sound like a kaleidoscope of sounds/colours/themes, all while sounding cohesive. Many different types of music also inspire me, so I could not just include one sound. The album's creation began in 2020 during covid, and I was appreciating the classic, retro music that is heavily prominent in the album. I wanted the album to sound timeless yet modern like listeners were reading my journal or sitting in on my therapy sessions. I was also heavily involved in the production, such as producing beats, writing and vocal arrangements. The album also starts with my personal journey, followed by the new love I was experiencing, resulting in a breakup. If you listen to the album, you notice that is the way the tracklist was created. Many of the songs were created in real time during the peaks of valleys of my relationship and the healing I was working on in therapy. My music pretty much became my journal. Whereas my previous work was primarily pop, this album included more hip hop, soul, retrosoul, afrobeats which is my current top genre that I listen to, along with Latin music to touch on my nationality. Being a new yorker, it is a diverse state, and we listen to alot of music, but you cannot escape hip hop. I embarked.
As a deeply introspective album, "The Voice of An Enigma" features many personal stories and experiences. Was there a particular track or moment in the album that challenged you the most, either emotionally or creatively, and how did you overcome those challenges? Many tracks were challenging because I wanted to go deeper than ever. I will say the tracks that were emotional and real were this ain't Love as that song was a specific story that was happening in real-time. If you listen closely, you will hear what happened. It also inspired my vocals as I was in pain and flowed out of me. I freestyled in the studio and did not edit it. I wanted the listeners to feel what I felt. I know other folks can relate to the heartbreak and pitfalls of a relationship. I wanted the listener not to feel alone. Also, the intro "Enigma" was challenging as I am usually "Uncomfortable with being vulnerable," a lyric from the song. I thought twice before saying it but decided to keep it as it is real and reflects how I feel. Blessed was another confessional track where I talked about some childhood trauma I had been healing in therapy and learned about my spirituality and love of god.
Given the variety of influences in "The Voice of An Enigma," could you share some artists, experiences, or cultural factors that inspired you during the creative process and how they contributed to the album's development? The album that inspired this entire project was Amy Winehouse's Back to Black. I loved how vulnerable and heartfelt this entire body of work is. It inspired me to write about my life in all aspects using retrosoul, and hip hop and later included afrobeats because I also wanted to dance some of the pain away. I wanted people to cry, smile, dance and reflect on this album. Also, the experiences reflected in the lyrics were happening in real-time, so this album is a portrait of my life over the past three years. I'm hoping the next album is a party record because I created 35 songs for this project and felt so close to many of the songs, which is why there are 21 songs. Choosing these 21 songs to tell the story I wanted to convey was hard. I am confident the songs selected allow listeners to know more about me than ever. It's scary yet rewarding, as I never thought I could do a full-length album. Until now, I had only done EP, and this album showed me that I could create a full album from scratch. I have writing and production credits on each track.
"The Voice of An Enigma" will undoubtedly strongly impact listeners. As you look to the future, how do you envision building upon the foundation laid by this album, and are there any new directions or themes you're excited to explore in your upcoming projects?
I appreciate that! That was my true intention. Whether anyone listened, I am very proud of this work. I would like to continue writing from this place in my music. Also would love to begin writing for other artists I am working on. I am working on a hip-hop remix album of many tracks to show a diff side of the music and working on an acoustic project to strip the music down, as well as my first Latin project. I am inspired during this time and just healing alot of the trauma I experienced early on in my life. I would encourage anyone dealing with trauma to embark on that journey for emotional and spiritual freedom. I would not change a thing and am happy that I have the outlet of music to pay it forward and allow listeners dealing with the same issues to feel less alone. Music has always been my saving grace and best friend at times. I wanted this body of work to feel that way to anyone who also feels like an enigma and is afraid of being vulnerable with others. To pick up even a journal and chronicle their journey. I promise you will not regret it. I would also like to thank everyone that has been reaching out about this album and how vulnerable it is. That truly means the world to me as I put myself into this body of work. This is only the beginning, and I plan on promoting this album and performing these songs in as many places as possible because it is a full glimpse into my life, and I am not afraid to show it any longer.
