Prepare for a sonic voyage as Stone Fruit, the vibrant duo hailing from London, unveils their initial and evocative single of the year, the mesmerizing and soul-stirring "Chains." Comprising the talented Valentini and Lef, who collectively assume the roles of lyricists, recording artists, and producers, Stone Fruit emerges as the result of their enduring camaraderie and an unwavering passion to sculpt a sound that seamlessly interlaces soul, pop, indie folk, and electronic vibes.

"Chains" signifies the commencement of Stone Fruit's keenly anticipated fourth project, acquainting listeners with a more profound, introspective facet of their musical finesse.

Channeling inspiration from the artistry of James Blake, JVKE, Lizzy McAlpine, and Halsey, the duo adeptly navigates the realms of pop and electro-folk, curating an irresistible fusion that assures an exhilarating addition to Stone Fruit's expanding discography.

The song commences with a stripped-down arrangement, enveloping the audience in ethereal soundscapes where dulcet vocals take the spotlight. However, don't settle too comfortably, as the chorus arrives with a drumbeat that metamorphoses the track into an R&B-infused marvel. As the song progresses, nuanced production details and sublime vocal harmonies deepen its allure, immersing the listener in a sonic tapestry that evolves with every beat.

"Chains" not only enchants with its harmonies; it probes into profound themes of solitude, forsakenness, and the struggle to liberate oneself from emotional entanglement.

Stone Fruit invites you to scrutinize the intricacies of the human experience while grooving to the infectious rhythm and captivating soundscape they've skillfully fashioned. "Chains" transcends being merely a song, an auditory odyssey awaiting exploration.

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Stone Fruit! We're thrilled to have you here chatting about your latest single, "Chains." Your songwriting explores introspective themes. Can you please share more about the personal experiences or inspirations that fueled the creation of this emotionally charged single?

Sometimes, it feels like the world is becoming a weirder and weirder place by the day. There is so much conflict, injustice, and many things that can literally and figuratively make us feel trapped in situations where no one should be. There are times when you have to accept that life may deal you a bad hand, but there are other times when we need to break the loop and try and escape any way we can if we can. The song’s lyrics delve into these considerably dark topics of loneliness, abandonment, and feeling stuck.

As a duo, how do your backgrounds and diverse influences contribute to the unique sound that defines Stone Fruit?

The magical thing is that although we have different influences, we also have a lot of common points of reference and experiences. This, along with the fact that we are both very open to many styles of music and constantly exploring new ideas, makes our songwriting process flow seamlessly. We let ourselves feel connected through the melody, the rhythm, and the harmony and allow all that to become a language of communication with each other but also with our audience.

Your upcoming project promises more depth and discovery. What can listeners expect from this new musical venture, and how does it differ from your previous releases?

It has been a year with many changes in our personal lives, and creating songs has always been part of our healing process. Creating a song is a moment of realizing what a privilege it is to integrate all our emotions and thoughts, whether melancholic or joyful, in a song's lyrics, instrumentation, and trajectory. ‘Chains’ is more emotionally charged and unveils our music's more profound, introspective side. And it looks like the rest of the project will live along these lines.

How do your musical influences manifest in your music, and how do you ensure that your sound remains distinctive amid these inspirations?

Listening to the songs of the previous EPs, I think that someone can tell that many elements are coming into play from different artists and genres. Sometimes, it’s a groove from the 70s, a synth sound from the 80s, or a vocal approach of 90s pop. We have agreed from the beginning of this project that we will never worry about sticking to a style, but we will let the songs be influenced from the moment we live in. This way, as we grow, our songwriting and production choices are changing with us, and hopefully, this keeps things interesting enough for our listeners.

How does your connection as friends influence the musical and creative chemistry within the duo? What are you most excited for?

It is amazing to work with each other! Having someone who helps you improve and understands you is a blessing. Our friendship and professional relationship is primarily built on trust. It is probably important to know that if something can be better, it will be said without hesitation and with honesty and love. We’ve said multiple times in our chats that even if no one was listening to our music, we would still keep writing because we love the process and work together so much!
