Coming from Cheshire, North West England, four-piece alt-rock band The Modern Society is back with their second single titled “Liquid Love”. The fresh new faces of The Modern Society are only 17-19 years old, yet create a bluesy atmosphere that comes off incredibly mature and experienced. The Modern Society mentioned that their recent single “Liquid Love” captures imagery of ‘summertime, sunshine and the overwhelming power of young and innocent romance’, while providing groovy jazz rhythms and mesmerizing eclectic guitar. “Liquid Love” delves deep into passionate emotions, and shows a new and exciting side of The Modern Society.

Kicking off with a gripping downbeat and funky electric guitar plucking, we’re met with the likes of different genres and how The Modern Society has clearly been inspired by a wide range of sound. Creating an incredibly seductive atmosphere through their instrumentals, the lead vocals make an appearance and bring together the sweet and savory mood of “Liquid Love”. With raspy and raw vocals, jazzy instrumentals through short guitar strumming, and precise dum patterns, The Modern Society has brought a song that captures the best of downtempo funk and pulsing jazz while giving “Liquid Love” a refined and modern approach through spicy alternative. It’s safe to say that we’re patiently waiting for the next move that The Modern Society will take.

Listen to "Liquid Love" here.

Welcome to BuzzMusic, The Modern Society! We’re loving the fresh instrumentation on your mood-setting single “Liquid Love”. Could you share what inspired The Modern Society to create such a natural love song?

Thank you! Liquid Love was inspired simply by sunshine, natural beauty, and the overwhelming power of young and innocent love.

Not to mention the groovy instrumentals on your single “Liquid Love”, giving us an alt-rock, funk and jazz feel all in one. How did The Modern Society piece together “Liquid Love”, and we’re the band's original intentions met with the finalized track?

There weren’t any particular intentions for the direction of the song. It was simply a product of an infatuated teen who sat at a piano on a warm summer evening, using music to express his state of mind. The band compliments this perfectly with a laid back beat, dreamy guitar, and an irresistibly funky bass line.

We’ve heard that The Modern Society is made up of four fun-loving teens from 17-19 years old. How does The Modern Society create such experienced and methodical music? Is it a long process or something that sparks itself?

The four of us all have varied influential music differences when we get together to write new material something just clicks and it doesn’t take long before we have the basis for a potential new track. This, teamed with how incredibly blessed we are to be working with Simon Jones out of 90’s SupergroupTheVerve as our Producer. His thirty plus years of practical knowledge and experience in the business really assists in giving our combined raw talent and energy polished and experienced sound.

Speaking on your latest single “Liquid Love”, we really get a glimpse of your diverse and versatile sound that shifts from jazz and funk to rock. Were there any challenges The Modern Society faced when crafting “Liquid Love”?

It was a very natural creative process that sparked itself, laying down the foundations of the song. It only took the addition of various rhythmic nuances and a modulation towards the end to give the song its polished feel.

What can we expect to see from you throughout 2020?

We will be releasing our 3rd Single 'She's a Killer'  later this summer and as one of the band's favorites to perform we can't wait for people to hear it.

As well as playing as many gigs as we possibly can we are always writing new material so we are hoping to get back in the studio as soon as possible to carry on recording.
