The Bloodshots Release a Steamy Rendition of the Classic Hit, "Bad Moon Rising"

Canada's most sought-after independent rock band The Bloodshots return with their brilliant rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival's smash hit, "Bad Moon Rising."

Since 2014, The Bloodshots have secured tour spots with staple acts like Buckcherry, Danko Jones, Moist, Finger 11, SLASH, Steel Panther, and Monster Truck, all of which gave The Bloodshots the recognition they deserve. Known as the future of rock, The Bloodshots and their scorching hot sound are truly making waves across our independent music scene.

More recently, The Bloodshots drenched us in power and energy with their lastest wailing cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's classic hit, "Bad Moon Rising." In this cover, The Bloodshots offer a unique rock n' roll flair alongside their electrifying energy, genuinely putting a special spin on the age-old hit.

Making our way around The Bloodshots' cover of "Bad Moon Rising," the track kicks off with a blistering rock instrumental that drops into the famous hook while The Bloodshots groove their way into the fire of this heated single. If there's one thing for sure, it's that we didn't know we needed a modern and active-rock approach to this exhilarating hit.

We love how The Bloodshots are able to present the same exciting delivery and engaging feel as the original band, yet their ability to bring incredible energy and charisma totally blows us out of the water. As they pour their fiery instrumentals over us until the last hook, The Bloodshots close the song with nothing but power and vitality.

If you're looking for something old or maybe something new, get the best of both worlds with help from The Bloodshots' cover of "Bad Moon Rising," now available on all digital streaming platforms.

A warm welcome to BuzzMusic The Bloodshots. You've truly started a fire with your latest rendition of "Bad Moon Rising." What inspired your band to create a cover of this classic hit?

We have! Well, there are a few reasons we chose this one. CCR was always playing the background of my childhood and we do a couple of their tunes in our set once in a while for fun and our version of BAD MOON has always been well received. And I think the message of the song fits really well with the current climate of the world. Covid. Shutdowns. Police killing civilians and so on.

When recording your instrumentals for "Bad Moon Rising," how did your band spice up the original song with your own elements and sound? What did you add to the song that's completely your own?

I think adding my (Cj) growly vocals mixed with some extra guitar leads, and POUNDING drums we kind of make it our own. It got the "bloodshot treatment" complete with a beer bottle pop in the first verse! Haha.

Did you work with any producers to help finalize the mix for your cover of "Bad Moon Rising?" Who helped your group out during this process?

We actually used 3 brains on this one. Jody Hunter at Studio 23 kicked it off and then Derek Benjamin and the acclaimed John Paul Peters both at Private Ear Studios in Winnipeg Manitoba put their touches on the mixing and mastering of the track.

It was tough to get everything down with shutdowns happening with every wave of covid.

Should we expect to hear more covers from you in the future? What artists, groups, or sounds do you think you might dabble in next?

Maybe! Haha. Covers are always to do. We've done shows as a Nirvana Tribute before as well as Guns n Roses so who knows! Anything can happen.

What's next for you?

We are looking to Get back to work in the studio at the end of November at this time we are going to work on a 5 or 6 song ep. We spend 2019-2020 releasing singles for streaming purposes basically but it's time for an album. We haven't put one out since our independent debut ep in 2015 so it's overdue!
