Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, TIMMS is now an up-and-coming pop artist in LA.
She fell in love with writing songs and playing classical piano at the young age of 8, and TIMMS has been branching out musically ever since. In 2016 she made the bold decision to move to the United States independently and pursue a degree in the College of Music at Berklee.
TIMMS is currently collaborating with her producer, Not Famous, to release music during her quarantine. She has already released two and has three more scheduled to be released by the end of July 2020.
TIMMS new single "Pretty Ugly" combines her high-pitched, light-as-a-whisper vocals with a strong and compelling electronic melody. In her lyrics, TIMMS talks about being bored with everyone having the same damn story… which pretty much sums her up as an artist.
TIMMS is anything but average, and her music is like nothing you have heard before. The song is like biting into a pizza that has every single topping possible – expected and unexpected. The energetic back and forth of electronic sounds and beats in "Pretty Ugly" will cause listeners to become bored with everything "normal," too.
She sings about wanting to hear about the parts that people usually keep hidden. TIMMS sends an essential message to listeners; that the ugly parts of you are pretty too. She reminds us that it's not the idea of "fitting in" to be the same as others that make us attractive, it's the things that set us apart and give us our own depth.
