Vica Releases Sultry And Timeless Single “Good Love”

Vica is an undeniably talented singer/songwriter and visual artist from the Philippines. She has a wide variety of music influences that inspire her diverse sound. Artist like Sade, Lauryn Hill, and Erykah Badu help Vica to make music that aims to be sensual yet dark, strong yet vulnerable, with rich and sultry vocals that convey love, lust and pain.

“Good Love” is a sensual and seductive new track by Vica that boasts a sultry side to the spectacular diva. Vica brings us a refreshing personality, she's ambitious and fun-loving. She invokes timeless melodies, while still keeping her style modern and fresh. Her strong connection with music is easily audible in her single "Good Love”. The power and soul in her emotionally-rich voice take us on a meaningful journey through her authentic songwriting ability. The R&B vibe in this finely-calibrated piece fuse perfectly with Vica's passionate vocals. “Good Love” is a unique collaboration of soulful lyrics and beat and it stands out. We can feel the love and admiration in her voice, but the beat has us swaying along to the music. We had high expectations and Vica surpassed all of them. This dreamy new single has us craving more from Vica, and personally, it will be bumping on my playlist!

Hi Vica! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you tell us what inspired you to pursue your career in music?

Hey Buzz Music! Thank you for having me! Well I’ve always loved music and singing since I was a kid but I’ve always been scared and/or lazy to actually pursue it. To be honest, I had a bad breakup 2 years ago from a guy I thought I was gonna marry and so that kinda shook me. At that point I was like, fuck this, I’m gonna do whatever I want to do without being scared of failure because time is ticking and life is passing me by so I better do this right now.

What are the elements you love most about R&B music?

I can’t play any instruments and I don’t really know music theory or anything (and I’ve tried to learn but it’s honestly like math to me) but there’s something about R&B music, sometimes it’s the chords or the beat or the bass line that just makes you say ‘oooh’ and sends that tingle up your spine, like a real smooth tingle...like a sexy, smooth tingle hahaha

So awesome that you're from Toronto! Can you tell us how the city and Toronto music scene has inspired you and your music?

Toronto is great! So many talented artists here. I actually grew up in the Philippines and moved to Toronto about 10 years ago. When I moved here, I knew no one, just my cousin and some of her friends so I turned to Craigslist at first to find music projects and through the years, I’ve met some really amazing musicians and artists that are so talented as well as humble and generous and inspiring who have just helped shape me and my music and made me come out of my shell.

How do you continue to feed your passion for music everyday?

On some difficult days you question what you’re doing and reflect on whether what you’re doing is worth it but in the end I just think there’s something about creating something, making something out of nothing that may touch someone else the way it made you feel as you were creating it, I think that is pretty priceless.

Can you tell us more about the message you want to get across to your fans in "Good Love"?

“Good Love” is just a feel good flirty song about a woman who’s taking charge of her sexuality in a confident and playful way. Let it be your sexy summer song!
