At just 17 years old, she’s already amassed over 49 million streams across platforms, and it’s easy to see why. With a voice that’s as enchanting as it is powerful, Anna Duboc is a star on the rise, mesmerizing her audience with charisma and talent. Listen to "Indigo" on all streaming platforms and take this emotional rollercoaster in for yourself. Congratulations on the release of "Indigo." It's such a beautiful and emotional track. Can you please tell us about the inspiration behind the song? Thank you so much! This song means a lot to me, and while I’m not quite ready to release the full details of the story behind Indigo, I will say it’s really just my final statement before finally letting go of a person/situation that left me with a ton of trauma that I don’t deserve to be carrying around. The sentiment of leaving my troubles in the past, if you will. With such a vetted team of producers, what was it like working with a team of this caliber? This song was co-produced by Matias and me, but I really enjoyed co-writing with Matias and Vixen. Vixen is an amazing guitarist and contributed a lot to the creative process. How do you prepare yourself vocally and emotionally for recording a song so personal to you? Honestly, I don’t. When I write, it’s usually from an emotional place, so I just let it all out on the page and don’t hold anything back. The final editing and recording come later when I am not as affected by the situation. However, if I am writing and recording on the same day, I just let the words express the emotion rather than letting the emotions control me so I can get a good vocal down. You’ve been compared to artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter but have a unique sound that’s all your own. How do you balance influences from other artists while maintaining your individuality? Of course, so many artists have influenced me. I have also performed as the lead in over 25 musicals, so I think performing live in front of an audience has really helped me shape my sound along with my own experiences. The reaction of a live audience is incredibly important to me and has helped shape my sound. What's next for you after "Indigo?" Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations that you’re excited about and can share with us? We’ll have to wait and see… But I do have a show coming up on September 6th at The Mint LA, so be sure to check that out. Instagram

  • Chris Koehn & Tessa Ia Find Peace In The "Stillness"

Serving up a silver platter of introspection is the architect-turned-musician Chris Koehn alongside fellow vocalist Tessa Ia for their haunting new single, "Stillness." Chris Koehn's journey into music began as a way to process grief after his brother's passing. His shoegaze-inspired songs explore themes of impermanence and living in the present, offering listeners a chance to reflect and heal through sound. And perhaps there's no better example than his latest single, "Stillness." Throughout the song, Koehn invites us to pause and breathe in a world of constant noise. The track serves as a sonic reminder to slow down and appreciate the quiet moments that often slip by unnoticed. Drifting into "Stillness," the song opens on a mysterious yet lush note with ghostly drums that pave the way for melancholy guitar melodies backed by chimes, pads, and atmospheric elements that send shivers down the spine. As Chris Koehn's silky vocals rain down from above, he paints vivid pictures of his surroundings, nature, and the mere enjoyment of taking in the stillness. Tessa Ia offers breathtaking harmonies on the hook while transitioning into her solo verse—which takes the song's conceptual aspect even further. Her vivid portrayal perfectly captures stillness for what it is: beautiful, one with nature, and something every human must appreciate. The song's uplifting and chilling outro ends the experience on a refreshing yet introspective note, leaving us seeking a moment of peace amid the busy modern day. Let Chris Koehn and Tessa Ia guide you to a moment of "Stillness," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Chris! We deeply admire the atmospheric sound and vibe of your newest single, "Stillness." What inspired you to write a song about slowing down and being present? I wrote it at a moment I felt overwhelmed with thoughts & emotions. As reminder to slow down and appreciate every moment.  How did your collaboration with Tessa Ia come about, and what do you feel she brought to the table for "Stillness"? We were getting to know each other at lunch while talking about our creative projects.  While I was describing the stillness song, the idea of collaborating together came out. Then, at audio months later, Her voice gave the song a very beautiful vibe. She started improvising harmonies, whispers at the bridge, and different parts of verses that gave Stillness and David Lynchean a cinematic & erotic vibe.  Can you tell us about the production process for "Stillness"? How did you create such an immersive, layered sound? I started working on the song at my home studio with guitar chords, adding different layers & textures of reverbed guitars, Moog synthesizers & drum boxes. Then, at Chapel Studio with/ dear friend & producer Jerry Quintana, he brought up the idea of adding piano and textures of pads & keyboards, plus the bridge idea to emphasize a Stillness moment. Loved the result! Your background as an architect is pretty unique. Does that ever influence your approach to songwriting and music production? Indeed. I do believe architecture & music work in  very similar ways . Their textures, rhythm ( modulation) , spacial dimensions & time are very related.  When creating architecture , I try to emphasize the void. Emptiness of spaces and removing elements to create a warm , relaxing environment.  As for music, my idea is to emphasize the silence between notes and remove unnecessary words & notes to create an awareness atmosphere.  As Mies van der Rohe's “Less is more” idea and Brian Eno’s importance of silence and removing notes.  In both disciplines, my intention is to elevate our frequency through awareness. It is in silence that we unite.  What do you hope listeners take away from "Stillness"? Is there a particular message or feeling you want to convey? To help elevate listeners frequency. To reflect, slow down and appreciate each and every moment, to connect with nature and our thoughts & emotions.  Instagram

  • Grander Ramps Up The Intensity On “Rumblestrip”

It’s been a long three years for the New Jersey-based indie band Grander. Last we heard from the group, they released their heady debut album,  If Found, Cherish,  in October 2021. In the years since, the members of Grander have moved out of the apartment that birthed the project, cut their hair, and gotten married.  Now Grander returns with their explosive new single, “ Rumblestrip .” The track marks the band’s first recording that features all five members of their live lineup with Matt Cugine (Vocals, Guitar, Synth), Jesse Henshaw (Bass), Chase Montani (Vocals, Drums, Guitar), Aaron Vigliotti (Guitar) and Angie Cuzzola (Keys) all contributing.  The song was a live staple during the group’s run of shows from 2019 to early 2020, but it took a while to properly put it to tape. Guitars, keys, and synths were recorded in the group’s Hoboken apartment in 2019. Bass was tracked during sessions at the Mercy College of Music studio with producer Justin Krass  in 2020. Drums and final vocal takes came together in Montani’s garage studio from 2023-2024, with countless tinkering to the mix in between.  “We always felt that this was one of our best songs, and because of that, I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to get it right on the recording,” says Montani. “Luckily, we had a lot of really good performances that we could build on, especially Jesse’s bass track from the sessions with Justin.” Driven by a drum machine in 7/8 time signature, “Rumblestrip” is an emo adrenaline rush that tackles themes of anxiety and self-doubt. The unconventional song structure and thumping beat culminate in an eruption of guitars and cymbals that mirror the disconcerting lyrical concepts. The result is an unparalleled track that defies typical genre categorization, continuing Grander’s streak of original and exciting releases.  “We tend to lean into this uncomfortable feeling with our music,” says Cugine. “As we were building this track, I kept getting ideas for layers of guitar that would stack on each other at the end of the song. I think there are like four lead guitar tracks in the outro and each one kind of raises the stakes and doubles down on the anxiety we built up throughout the track.”  While it may have taken three years for Grander to release new music, the group plans to get back to regularly releasing music in the coming months.  “The goal is to finish recording some of the other songs that were part of our live set and get out another track or two before the end of the year,” says Montani. In the meantime, follow Grander on Instagram  and Spotify  to stay up-to-date on the latest from the NJ indie band.

  • Sym Fera Drops Steamy New Single & Music Video for “Beg”

Los Angeles-based electronic rock duo sym fera releases a chilling yet exhilarating new single and accompanying music video with "Beg." Known for their atmospheric sound reminiscent of early Nine Inch Nails, sym fera continues to intrigue listeners far and wide—not only with their sound but their anonymity. The duo is keeping their identity a secret for a little experiment...to see if they can climb to the top solely on talent and no industry ties. With tracks that explore the impact of social media on the human psyche, we can only expect deeply conceptual, chilling new tunes in the near future. Better yet, "Beg" is exactly that. It's a sensual, dark, yet dreamy electronic escape that serves as the perfect introduction to sym fera's staple sound. They've also released a picturesque music video that's bound to magnetically charge any viewer. Hitting play on "Beg," the track opens with powerful yet dark synths and crashing, faded drums to create an incredibly atmospheric listening experience from the get-go. As the snares and hi-hats start creeping in alongside soft, hazy vocals, we lock into lyrics of attraction, punishment, and a carnivorous lust that's impossible to resist. This track hits in all the right places—if you catch my drift. The music video offers more of a sci-fi take on an electronically charged world that's striking houses, people, and anything that moves and breathes. It's a solid representation of the 'carnivorous lust' sym fera expresses on the hook. With its stunning, gentle melodies and pristine electronic production, any listener can get down to the streamy sounds and vibes of this new single. Step into a world of lust with sym fera's new single and music video, "Beg," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, sym fera! We're head over heels for your atmospheric and steamy new single, "Beg." Did anything in particular inspire you to create this track? It’s kind of our most down to earth song, which is a low bar considering we like to write about the looming apocalypse and the singularity a lot. It’s about the psychological background of a simple sexual hookup, and all the weird underpinnings that come along with letting someone you do not really know into your home, under your clothes, into a place of physical vulnerability, all while keeping your true self hidden behind a social contract. It’s about how the hunter-and-hunted dynamic can be inverted at any moment, the dance between safety and thrill, and how anxiety and excitement sometimes go hand in hand. What's the significance of the electro-charged world illustrated in the "Beg" music video? How do the visuals tie into the song itself? This is kind of the thing that we love most about selecting a music video director - you never really know what your song will inspire for them. Josh Shaffner (the director) knew everything I just explained about the lyrical content, but we gave him free rein to ignore it or interpret it in as figurative or abstract away as he saw fit. The video is entirely his concept, and much more dreamlike in quality than the vague story the lyrics describe. There are ways the visuals could be a metaphor for the lyrics, and it could simply be what the song made him feel, and the lyrics are an entirely different story. Only Josh knows the answer to that and it’s up to him if he feels like sharing. I love that about this one. Who says the music video director has to stick to the songwriter’s script? One’s experience of a song is one’s own. Would you say "Beg" is a solid introduction for new listeners unfamiliar with your sound? How does this song help represent your style? We bounce back and forth from digital to analog to acoustic all the time, and we can only hope that the people who like us don’t mind the rollercoaster ride because we really can’t imagine confining ourselves to one corner of the record shop. We love Tom Waits as much as we love Massive Attack, so that’s what it’s gonna be. This one is firmly more in the latter than the former, but we’ll definitely release some curveballs after this. I guess that didn’t really answer your question. What's your duo's creative process? And what did that collaboration look like for "Beg?" How did you build this song from scratch? This song was my partner, ‘the producer,’ sent me this track’s instrumental nearly fully finished, and I wrote the lyrics and melody over the top and sang on it on my own, and sent it back. It’s nice and neat when the roles are so clear and defined, but that’s not always the case. We’re often messy. I do some producing, he does some singing/melody writing. We’re half and half, but we don’t always stay in our assigned corners. The division of labor is just whatever each song needs. What do you hope listeners feel when hearing "Beg"? How did you want this song to impact them? We hope it comes off as a bit sexy and a bit foreboding. Human sexuality, like any base drive, can be wonderful and life-affirming, but it can also be chaotic, dark, overwhelming, and sometimes all at once. So we hope they feel any and all of those things when they listen. Instagram
