Hey Marcus, thanks for catching up with us! Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you first became interested in music?

Music has been a huge part of my life since day one. My mother has always sung and played guitar, which resulted in her making sure my brothers and I joined our school choirs and bands when we were old enough. I played piano for a while, the tuba in middle school band, and eventually discovered songwriting/rapping in high school around 16 yrs old. I'll admit, the road was a little rocky in the beginning, but I received nothing but positive feedback from my friends when I recorded my first songs. I continued writing and recording after high school, caught a little wave and started performing in Bend, and even had one of my songs make it on the radio. That's what broke ground  for me and sparked my passion for making music, that's how it all started.

Who would you say your biggest musical influences are?

This is always a tough question because I listen to and respect so many different genres and artists across the spectrum. If I had to narrow it down though, my major influences are, Sublime, Mac Miller, Kanye West, Niykee Heaton, Blackbear, Mike Posner and Logic.

Can you describe what your writing and creative process is like? How does it all come together?

Well, I start with the music. Lately, I've been working with a producer, River Beats, he is a magician. I find something that I like the vibe of and then the lyrics and rhythm kind of just come to me. I just kind of say what ever the music brings to my mind, and then go from there. When I'm writing a song on my guitar, I find a chord progression that I like and really just vibe it out.

Your new single, “Doin’ Good”, has a really great confidence and positive vibe. Is this a mood or feeling that you try to impart in your music, or does that just happen naturally?

Yeah I am really stoked on Doin' Good. That mood is just how I feel every day, so I guess you could say that it comes naturally. I'm just a happy boy. I have my girl, my family, my friends, my two dogs, and as long as I can wake up and do what I love every day, I'm doin' good. I wanted to capture that with this song, and feel like I did just that.

What can we expect from you in the future?

You can expect a LOT more music from me in the future. This is just the beginning. I'm moving to LA in July, so I hope to connect with a lot of different artists out there and continue to create music that brings good vibes into people's days and helps the world smile a little more.
