Vocalist and pianist Ivy Alex is bringing her mixed style of jazz, R&B, neo-soul, classical and pop to a new meaning. Her style is similar to artists like; Alicia Keys, Lana Del Rey, and Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote.
Ivy’s compelling storytelling abilities, perfectly matched with her serene melodies, provide a listening experience like no other. Backing up her talent by studying film scoring at Berklee College of Music and being a director at Frenchwoods Festival for the Arts, all while putting on an extremely impressive three shows/night, six nights/week. It’s clear that Ivy Alex has established her spot in the music industry and worked exceptionally hard for it.
Ivy’s lyrical storytelling in her single “Pray,” alongside the music video’s moving imagery, perfectly enhances the meaning of her harmonious messages of love and loss. There’s no questioning what her lyrics are trying to say, as her clear and angelic vocals create an incredibly precise image that unmistakably reflects her music video.
All the beauty that nature offers is captured within the music video and impeccably supports the emotional messages the song portrays. While being shot on a dreary day with a low-hanging cloud, each scene is precisely placed to support “Pray” ’s heavy-hearted theme.
