Woman in an orange dress reflected in an ornate mirror outdoors, surrounded by greenery. The sun sets over rolling hills in the background.

Teona Zak isn’t here to play around with half-baked pop formulas. The contemporary pop artist with a bluesy, soul-soaked edge is gearing up to drop her brand-new single “Alive” on September 9, and it’s already sounding like the kind of track that can rip your heart open in the best way possible.

If her shimmering summer anthem “Golden Days” had you reminiscing about sweaty late-night drives, sunburned skin, and love affairs that feel too cinematic to be real, then “Alive” is its deeper, more vulnerable counterpunch. This one’s all about falling into a love that makes you feel safe, seen, and utterly transformed, the kind of story that isn’t just written, but lived.

From Nostalgia to Romance

“Golden Days” (dropped June 17) was the perfect summer fling of a song; it's nostalgic, euphoric, and messy in all the right ways. With its glowy production and intoxicating vibe, it quickly became a go-to soundtrack for anyone chasing or grieving a romance too good to fade.

Now, “Alive” flips the script. Instead of chasing after fleeting moments, Teona dives into love that lasts, the type that redefines your entire outlook. It’s also the first real glimpse into her upcoming EP To Be Loved (arriving this fall), and she’s celebrating the single with an intimate release show at Black Rabbit Rose on September 11.

The Journey So Far

Teona isn’t just another L.A. hopeful; she’s been at this grind since she was a kid. Raised on the East Coast, she was performing at eight, writing originals at fourteen, and eventually graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2023. Since then, she’s performed the national anthem at a Boston Bruins game, lit up venues like The Mint and Andy’s WeHo, and carved out a permanent spot in L.A.’s indie music scene since relocating in 2024.

Her style is a collision of soulful vulnerability, bluesy undertones, and pop hooks sharp enough to stick with you for weeks. And with “Alive” on deck, she’s showing a new side, one that’s more intimate, more fearless, and arguably her most powerful release to date.

Why You Should Care

Between the nostalgia-soaked heat of “Golden Days” and the fairytale-level romance of “Alive,”  Teona Zak is crafting an EP that feels less like a playlist and more like a lived experience. She’s making music for people who want to feel something real, no fluff, no filler, just raw emotion dressed in immaculate production.

Mark it down: “Alive” drops September 9 on all major platforms, and if you’re in L.A., catch Teona live at Black Rabbit Rose on September 11. Her EP To Be Loved is set to follow this fall, and if these singles are any clue, it’s going to hit harder than anyone’s ready for.
