Welcome to the BuzzMusic community Scarlet Jei Saoirse! Are you able to share with our readers what first got you passionate about music?

Music is coded in my DNA. It's just who I am. My mother is a singer and my father was a musician. I was also born in an era where music was heavily influenced by the likes of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Prince, and gave birth to artists like Boyz II Men, Brandy, Mariah and so on. Watching these artists, just breathed life into a seed that was already planted.

"Gimme A Chance" hit us to our very core with your vocal performance. Do you find it comes effortlessly to fill your voice with such passion?

My songs aren't just songs they're all stories, real emotions. I'm conversing through melodic form. I wouldn't say it's effortless, but my emotions behind everything is genuine. Whether it be love, sadness, fear, excitement... It's all real. It's connected to memories that play in my head as I share.

As a song that presents itself as a pleading love song, was it hard for you to write/record "Gimme a Chance"?

Not at all. It came super easy because every word is so true. And because the song is dedicated to another artist, I felt it was necessary to explain myself this way.

Do you feel that your music is an accurate depiction of your life?

Yes, my music is always based on real-life experiences.

Do you feel ultimately connected to your listeners through your music?

Yes. I've gotten some amazing feedback. I've had people tell me that "Gimme A Chance" made them want to reach out to someone they let go of because of poor communication. I feel like I inspire vulnerability and honesty.

Can you describe how your performances feel?

Heartfelt, raw, and intimate. I want it to be more than a show. I always want to deliver a message. I feel like we all vibe off each other. Like it's a therapy session and we're all just relating, I think my words resonate with the audience and the energy just goes back and forth and is shared between us all.

Do you enjoy live shows, or do you prefer the actual songwriting process?

I enjoy both, but writing is where my heart is. I have so much to say, so many stories to tell. Performing can sometimes change the mood. You go through so many emotions from every song you perform. But with writing, I'm alone and free to speak openly, right at that moment with whatever I'm feeling at that time.
