- Dive Into The Zen Vibes Of BB Mike’s “Within”
From the East Coast to the West Coast, lo-fi producer BB Mike drops a chill new instrumental just in time for summer, titled "Within." BB Mike's musical journey started in Hartford, Connecticut, where he fell in love with jazz, rock, and hip-hop. After studying music in Colorado, he went to Los Angeles to pursue his solo career, blending his diverse influences into a unique sound. His latest track, "Within," showcases BB Mike's talent for creating laid-back, groove-filled beats. It might be his most relaxing song yet. It was written at the height of the pandemic in 2020 when BB felt inspired to sample his friend Mike's guitar videos. With a little production expertise, "Within" was born, and there's much more where this lo-fi tune came from. The song opens with a mellow guitar riff that instantly puts you in a peaceful mood, painting all sorts of lush and vivid scenes without a single lyric. As the beat kicks in, you can't help but nod your head to the smooth rhythm. The lush electric guitar melodies weave through the track to add depth and emotion to the zen-like atmosphere that calms listeners from head to toe. What makes "Within" stand out is how BB Mike seamlessly blends different elements. The lo-fi beat provides a solid foundation, while the guitar work adds a touch of soul. It's the kind of song that's perfect for chilling out, studying, or just vibing out on a lazy afternoon—whatever you're up to this summer. Get lost in the groovy world of BB Mike's "Within," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, BB Mike! We're loving the chill vibes of your new track "Within." What inspired you to create such a relaxing and feel-good tune? Thanks for the kind words and for having me! Happy to be here. My love for lofi and chill music in general inspired me to make this tune. At the time, I was alone in my friend’s apartment, and it was a beautiful summer day in Colorado, so that also played a part in the process. "Within" has a very distinct lo-fi sound. How does this track represent your evolution as an artist? This track returns to my roots of Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lofi inspirations & projects. Lately, I’ve been DJing a lot and making a lot of electronic tunes, but this song, in particular, has been on the back burner for a while and stays true to my original roots of studying jazz in high school and college. Can you tell us about the process of sampling the guitar melodies for "Within"? What inspired you to do that? I was inspired by J Dilla and Knxwledge when I sat down and chopped up my friend’s guitar playing. They are so unique in their sampling techniques, and they have inspired me for years. The original audio is in an odd meter, but I thought it’d sound great in a 4/4 even meter. We heard that "Within" was born during the pandemic. How did that time influence your creative process? Yeah, it was a difficult time during the pandemic, so I focused on the power of music and the hope it always gives me through hard times. With this mindset, I could channel my emotions into the composition, and Within was born. What do you hope listeners feel or experience when they hear "Within?" I hope listeners feel relaxed and at peace with the world around them when listening to Within. Or maybe even a melancholy sort of feeling that reminds them of times past but may be slightly bittersweet. Instagram
- Bekka Dowland Spins Tales Of Love & Growth In New EP ‘Failures & Fairytales’
From Western Massachusetts, country-pop sensation Bekka Dowland unveils her heartfelt new 6-track EP, Failures & Fairytales. This 27-year-old singer-songwriter grew up on a mix of country classics and pop hits. Inspired by Taylor Swift, Bekka started writing poems and stories at a young age. Her unique sound blends country roots with fresh, modern vibes. In her newest EP, Failures & Fairytales, Bekka takes listeners on an emotional journey through love, heartbreak, and self-discovery. The project kicks off with the upbeat intro track, "Gravity," a groovy song that kicks the EP into gear. Its irresistible instrumentation and catchy vocals are the tip of the iceberg, but the larger-than-life brass section keeps us locked in for the ride. Bekka Dowland expands on life's trials and tribulations, especially on someone who tends to keep her down, like "Gravity." It's an angsty, powerful song highlighting how we must never let someone else stop us from spreading our wings. Moving on to track two, "Christopher's Song," this passionate and introspective country-esque tune features warm instrumentation and Bekka Dowland's storytelling lyrics about falling in love at 16—thinking their future is bright in that fairytale. But she realized quickly how everything could change. This song asks Christopher various questions: How's the family? How's the jeep? Did he settle down by the sea like he always wanted? And does he think of her like she thinks of him? The emotions run high in the EP's third track, "Fairytale," a slower, more down-tempo tune with shimmering piano keys and tender acoustic guitar, allowing Bekka Dowland's lush vocals to shine through. While expanding on a breakup a few summers ago, she makes one thing clear: this person might be irreplaceable. It's a raw, honest portrayal of post-breakup emotions that will connect listeners to Dowland's relatable, compelling lyrics. And just like that, Bekka Dowland is moving from those breakup blues to a snappy, empowering track that channels all the freedom, self-love, and power we muster after a breakup. "Ain't Thinkin' Bout You" is an upbeat, radiant tune that sees Bekka living it up in Malibu while she's happily moving past her ex. It's an empowering, punchy track that will get you moving your feet. On the EP's outro track, "He'll Make Some Girl So Happy," Bekka Dowland embraces the breakup even further. She understands how this person made such a significant impact on her life, whether it was his eyes, words, or actions. And although it couldn't work for them, it can work with someone else. Bekka accepts that in a lush, easygoing listening experience that closes the album on a peaceful note. Welcome to Buzz, Bekka! We're loving your new EP Failures & Fairytales. What's the story behind this collection of songs? Thank you for having me back again! These songs are a collection of stories from my life. I enjoy writing about love and the many different feelings that come along with it. It was very cathartic for me to write them and release them. Some of these songs were written pre-pandemic, and it’s nice to finally be able to share them. Failures & Fairytales seem to take listeners through different stages of love. Was it important for you to show this journey throughout the EP? I wanted to share my personal experiences with love throughout these songs. It was important for me to showcase the different stages of love, including heartbreak, loss, happiness, etc. I wanted the listeners to be able to connect their own stories to these songs. Which song from Failures & Fairytales is your personal favorite and why? What makes that song stand out to you? This is such a hard question because I truly love all of these songs. Blood, sweat, and tears went into making this project. If I had to choose one, I’d probably go with “He’ll make some girl so happy.” The way the lyrics roll off the tongue and flow together scratches an itch in my brain. This song really stands out to me because it was inspired by a 30-second interaction I had with someone (who is now a good friend of mine). The lyrics and melody came to me so easily. I finished this song completely in about 20 minutes; it practically wrote itself. What was your favorite part of making the entire EP, Failures & Fairytales? What moment or experience did you enjoy most? I genuinely enjoy all parts of the creation process. It’s so fascinating to see a voice memo from my phone turn into a finished mixed and mastered product. I have to say, though, that there is nothing like time in the studio. I love hanging out with my sound engineer, Drew. He is such a fun and awesome guy; we clicked instantly the first time we worked together. My manager, EJ, truly is like family to me, and we always have the best time creating music. My entire team pours their hearts into my projects alongside me, which is more than I could ever ask for. What impact do you hope to make on listeners with Failures & Fairytales? What was your goal in that respect? I hope listeners can enjoy the raw emotion behind some of these songs and the sass. I really wanted to bring a well-rounded and diverse project to the table. If just one person can relate to any of these songs, then I’ve done my job. This is my first big project as a newer artist, so I hope to gain some new fans along the way. Instagram Facebook
- Byland Watches Time Waste Away On Their New Captivating Single “Two Circles”
Getting older doesn’t always make you wiser. Although the dystopian alternate reality COVID-19 created has been mercifully put to rest, the anxiety it evoked still feels familiar for some today. For some, the lingering dread and longing for connection never really went away; it just twisted itself into different forms. Peace of mind might feel hard to come by, but luckily, this doesn't have to be true! For Seattle-based-outfit Byland, solace can be found in the greatest and most poignant indie rock albums of our time, and they have every intention of adding to that list with their releases. What makes an indie rock album truly great? Is it the instrumentals? The voice? The indie spirit? What even is the indie spirit? Although there has never (and probably never will be) been a universal consensus for what makes an indie rock album great, Byland believes that every great indie rock album bears the scars of our collective trauma. How this trauma is expressed, pure, honest, genuine, or otherwise, separates the normal albums from the truly special ones. “Two Circles” is Byland’s latest single and their latest stop on the way towards musical greatness. The instrumentals are a captivating affair, incorporating lilting pedals, glassy synthesizers, and more to set a grand stage for frontwoman Alie Renee to take us away. And take us away she does, with haunting lines like “You never grew up; you just got older,” delivered with a ghostly quiver that immerses us in her haunting yet poignant soundscape. Dark, insular magic has been created here, and we can’t wait to see what else Byland has in store for the future. Byland will rise to greater heights with every release. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Byland’s new single “Two Circles,” which is now on all majour streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Byland! We loved “Two Circles,” we had to ask, what was your initial vision for “Two Circles,” and how does the final version compare to yours? I’m so glad you like it! Working with Director Chris Cunningham of Dark Details was such a unique experience in that he pretty much takes a song of yours he’s inspired by, and he pitches the idea he dreams up to you. We’ve seen his work and trusted him as an artist from the get-go, but it did take a lot of faith to be so “hands-off”… The whole process was fun. We got to see the world someone else created from our song, which was magic. What was your favorite part of bringing the vision for the music video for “Two Circles” to life? Thanks to Kate Becker, I loved having the opportunity to create with the whole team at Harbor Island Studios. Chris brought a top-notch team to the shoot, and even though he had the whole day planned out shot-by-shot, he did go off script at times to get the shot he was envisioning. The projector, lights, and door scenes were so cool in person. Ask him more about this, but he’s not just a “fix it in post” guy. He’s a genuinely creative and artistically authentic person. What’s your favorite music-related memory together as a band? Watching one of our songs play on a Fox TV show was pretty surreal. I didn’t see the scene until it was live while watching with my family. I laughed and cried all at the same time. It just felt like a good reminder that what we’re doing is connecting with people, and it matters. The Actor in that scene has since passed away, and it’s just so emotional and special now to have that moment marked in history with a song I wrote. What does music mean to you, and what qualities do you think are most important for musicians to have? Music is a friend to me. It’s always been there for me, and I believe it always will be. My first moments alone with music as that friend are something I won’t ever forget, and it grounds me when I get in front of any crowd. I strive to keep that connection with myself and music first while I offer exactly that to anyone around—not changing myself for them. What’s next for Byland, and is there anything you’d like to tell your fans? We are not slowing down. We just finished three tours in support of this new record, “Heavy For A While,” and I think it’s the best thing we’ve ever made. But I thought about the record before that. I think we are finding “us” while we continue to create, and I’m just going to keep going. I want to do this full-time and collaborate with inspiring people. Instagram Facebook

Yafania’s gentle yet resilient vocals hum with quiet power, absolutely stealing the show. If this debut is anything to go by, we’ve got a budding star on our hands. “Front Row” eschews negativity and hatred and preaches love and support, with Yafania emerging as a musical storyteller who illuminates the darkness with her music. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Yafania’s new release, “Front Row,” on all majour streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Yafania! We loved “Front Row,” what an amazing debut! We had to ask, how does it feel to have your debut out? It’s the start of your artistic journey! Glad to be doing this with BuzzMusic! I love reading the featured artists on your page. Releasing my debut song, “Front Row,” feels like I just sent my first-born kid off to their first day of preschool, hoping they’ll make friends on their own. But honestly, I’m so excited that Front Row is out now, and I can't wait to share more upcoming chapters with the world, too. What was your favorite part of the creative process, both for making the song and the music video? The verses and bridge of Front Row were written during and in between classes I took at the time of the writing. One of those classes was a philosophy class I didn’t think would inspire me when I registered. We were delving into Plato's allegory of the cave, and the first line of the bridge, 'Rise like the sun’s light and leave them to their shade,' kept echoing in my head. It's funny how those moments of inspiration can pop up in the most unexpected places, right? As for my first music video, I learned a lot from working on ‘Front Row’. I approached director Said Khallaf with a very rookie shot-by-shot of the entire concept for the music video, and I was surprised to find out that my draft wasn't so rough for a Pinterest girl after all. I was lucky enough to work alongside a strong filmmaking team that brought my vision to life, making the music video look as good as, if not better than, what I had planned on paper. The filming days were so much fun, and being there with everyone on set was like watching my imagination come to life right before me. What does music mean to you, and what inspired you to seriously pursue it? Music is the ultimate form of storytelling because it’s universal - everyone wants new music. As a storyteller at heart, I’ve always believed music is the best way to share stories because both the instrumental and lyrics of songs serve as a narrative for the person writing. Then, it gets released to listeners who deeply feel the narrative is theirs. That connection between an artist and their audience is why I do what I do. If your listeners could take one thing away from your music, what would you want it to be? If my listeners could take one thing away from my music, I’d want it to be the reassurance that it’s okay to be vulnerable and to feel deeply. Emotions are what make us human, and my songs are here to remind everyone that it's perfectly okay to embrace and express them, no matter how tough things get. What’s next for Yafania, and is there anyone you’d like to shout out to? This summer is jam-packed with upcoming song releases that I’m excited to share with everyone. I want to thank my incredible team, from the music side to the filmmaking side, for helping bring “Front Row” to life. They’re also still by my side as we work towards releasing my next song, which is still under wraps but will be the next chapter released next month. Instagram Facebook

Known for capturing imaginations with releases that straddle the evocative realm where dynamic vocals meet visceral expression, this talented songstress continues to impress with every release. As Luke and her electric violin continue to bewitch and leave audiences in shock and awe, keep an eye out for this rising force in the hard rock scene. Hailing from a quaint town in the heartland of Iowa, Luke’s journey fittingly began when the delicate strings of a violin sparked what would become a lifelong passion. From the tender age of three and being nurtured by a family deeply rooted in musical passion, Luke’s musical journey is inspiring with passion, determination, and resilience. Venturing into the bustling streets of Los Angeles at just 15, Luke’s resilience and passion propelled her towards remarkable collaborations, from touring with icons like Meat Loaf to gracing the studio with Britney Spears and The Foo Fighters. On Luke’s latest release, “Devil At My Heels” (ft. Orianthi), her powerful vocals again come into play as she dazzles with another iconic performance. Upbeat, striking drums and guitar play lay a proper foundation for the instrumental performance of this track, and as her bandmates line her up, Luke takes a swing and knocks it out of the park. Lyrics like “He tries to cleanse my spirit / Ain’t enough holy water / To save me from the trouble, I’m swimmin” dazzle and engage. With “Devil at My Heels,” Ginny Luke defies musical norms and redefines the narrative, inspiring listeners to embrace their own journey of empowerment. As her electric violin ignites the stage, tap in and stream Ginny Luke’s new release, “Devil At My Heels”, now on all majour streaming platforms. Check out the music video as well; it's out now on YouTube. Welcome to Buzz, Ginny Luke! We loved “Devil At My Heels,” so we had to ask! What inspired this release, and what was your favorite part of the creative process this time? The inspiration behind "Devil at My Heels" starts with a classic badass rock feel and encompasses female power, sex appeal, temptation, and the narrative of a toxic lust story and my character finding her inner strength and power. My favorite part of the creative process was working with director Harrison Sanborn on the concept, story, and shots of the band, styling with Carol Miranda, Kicka Custom by Marika, and choosing looks from RUBY's Fashion Library with my artist friend EMM. What did you envision the music video being like first? Was the final version we saw similar to what you initially imagined? I envisioned the video very close to how it turned out and felt—the director, Harrison Sanborn, and I were very deliberate in storyboarding, shot listing, and executing the vision and storyline from the beginning. I think the exciting elements that I enjoy dialing in are the set, the chemistry in my performance with my co-lead, Cesar Alan, and the vibe of the band shots. What qualities do you think are most important for a musician to have? Self-belief, tenacity, courage, perseverance, and a huge SPIRIT that people can feel. What’s been your favorite part of your musical journey, and what does music mean to you? My musical journey started at age 3 with classical violin and piano. Wow, what a question! I think it has been meeting all types of people from all over the planet and having so many deep connections and experiences with other musicians, even if we don't speak the same language. What does music mean to me? It's a deeply human expression. It's my most comprehensive, colorful way to express myself, and it exposes one's human experience through it. That's what makes each artist so special—no one can be the same regarding expression. Everyone has something unique to say. What’s next for Ginny Luke, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? I am headed out on the second leg of the AJR "Maybe Man" arena tour tomorrow - I'm playing violin, keys, and saxophone, and singing BGVs. I love being in touch with people who listen to my music, and I would encourage anyone who finds my music interesting to reach out, and never stop rocking!! Instagram Facebook
- Music Is “The Cure”: Rose Cora Perry & The Truth Untold’s New Release
Canadian rockers Rose Cora Perry and The Truth Untold have done it again: They released a timely and relevant socially charged rock anthem with a quasi-movie music video to boot. Following the success of their 2022 hit, “Not My Time,” which achieved airplay on 50 stations across North America and over 100,000 views on YouTube – an unheard-of feat for a self-represented band – Perry admits they were intimated about what song to choose as a follow-up. “’ Not My Time’ was extraordinarily successful, and we are truly thankful that it resonated with so many people. I think it’s reaffirming as a songwriter that your music is reaching people on a very emotional and visceral level. We’re hoping our fans feel ‘The Cure’ is a worthy follow-up and that they enjoy part two of my music video character, Kathryn Gunn’s evasion from authorities.” The Truth Untold has gained a reputation for writing hard-hitting rock tunes with catchy melodies and releasing cinematically elaborate music videos with notable plot twists and turns. Perry sees music videos as an extension of her artistic expression, lending insight into the inspiration behind her lyrics and giving listeners a deeper connection to the band’s music: “I enjoy giving our fans an experience both ‘on stage’ and when we release new material. As an avid movie watcher myself, I come up with these ridiculously elaborate plots. I am always amazed that we pull them off with literally one camera guy and a shoestring budget.” The video for the band’s new sure-to-be hit, “The Cure,” carries on Perry’s and Tyler Randall’s (drummer) characters established in the “Not My Time” universe, plus includes cameos by the band’s touring bassist Jessie Taynton and fellow musician Kirk Reed. If there’s one takeaway from the video’s plot, it’s that “appearances can be deceiving.” Be sure to check out the band live as they continue on their US summer tour. Facebook Instagram
