- Melanie Gillott Won’t Let You Dim Her Light On “Delusion”
Isn’t this what you said you wanted? Deep in the sprawling metropolis affectionately referred to as the City of Angels, Melanie Gillott emerged as one of the industry's most exciting, multi-faceted talents. Weaving together colorful music, storytelling, and acting threads to create poignant narratives that resonate with the human soul, Gillott has captivated audiences everywhere she’s gone. As Gillott continues to blaze a bright trail in the music scene, keep your eyes peeled for this dynamic songstress; she’s going places. With the release of her debut EP “Unpredictable” on November 3rd last year, Gillott firmly entrenched her status as a brilliant artistic mind. Written and serving as a testament to the ebbs and flows of life and the inherent beauty nestled within these experiences, “Unpredictable” showed that for Gillott, art is not just a form of expression but also a vessel for healing, inspiration, and connection. Through her music and acting, she endeavors to uplift and resonate with her listeners, offering solace and comfort in the shared human experience. Gillot’s latest release, “Delusion,” is a high-energy offering that channels the giddiness that love can bring us, even if it’s not always going our way. Although the fast-paced whistling and instrumental performance certainly lend an uplifting feel to the track, lines like the instantly iconic “If this love was an illusion, let me live in delusion” imply that Gillot might have her work cut out. Perhaps the high-energy feel of “Delusion” is fitting then because one thing is clear: Gillot is on the rise, and nothing will keep her down. As a singer, songwriter, and actress, Melanie Gillott’s artistry delves deep into the heart and human emotion by channeling Gillot’s raw and unfiltered honesty. - Royal Chant Bristles At Hypocrisy On Their Tongue-In-Cheek New Release “Blunt Force Drama”
Sometimes, the irony is almost palpable. For over 15 years, Australian indie rock outfit Royal Chant has been a mainstay in the music scene, with a prolific output of 9 albums since their formation in 2009. Led by founder and principal songwriter Mark Spence, the band has impressively stayed true to its roots and artistic vision, even through numerous personnel changes and rebirths. As this electrifying band continues to gear up for the release of its upcoming 10th studio album, “Be Your Own Boss,” expect them to come with the heat on every release. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of influences, including Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, and Shane MacGowan, Royal Chant’s music is a fusion of gritty rock, heartfelt melodies, and overdriven kick, all blended with a blue-collar work ethic and a touch of politeness. Currently comprised of Mark Spence (guitar and vocals), Wade Mobbs (drums), and James Carthew (guitar, multi-instrumentalist), Royal Chant have impressively consistently found ways to evolve and keep their sound fresh. Although each of their releases has that distinct Royal Chant feel, their continuous chase for artistic perfection has made their creations feel unique. Royal Chant’s latest release, “Blunt Force Drama,” is a tongue-in-cheek release that sees the Australian band nonetheless taking an important ideological stand. Underneath the smooth instrumental performance and Spence’s compelling vocals, “Blunt Force Drama” is a criticism. Royal Chant wanted to address NRL players refusing to wear special jerseys for gay pride week due to their right-wing beliefs while simultaneously being fine with alcohol and gambling sponsors. It’s a wonderful example of conscious music done right, and if the music continues to be this compelling, the future of this talented group will remain bright. As they gear up for the album launch, Royal Chant continues to enchant listeners with every lead-up release. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Royal Chant’s latest release, “Blunt Force Drama,” on all majour streaming platforms. Instagram Facebook
- Producer Rio Sheds Light On Gabrielle Lynn's Latest, "Life's Been Crazy"
Welcome to Buzz, Rio! We love the raw and genuine lyrics in Gabrielle's recent single, "Life's Been Crazy." What inspired you to write this song with Gabrielle? First and foremost, I want to say Gabrielle is absolutely an incredible songwriter. I remember the day like it was yesterday. I was in the studio with her friends, family, Ivan, and myself. I started playing the main progression you hear in the song on the keyboard, and then Ivan added some drums to it. After that, I went into the studio recording booth and just did a melody. One thing with Gabrielle and myself: I would just do a melody, and then Gabrielle would just fill in the words. As time passed and I was in the main studio room, letting the music loop while talking with her family and friends, we noticed that Gabrielle just went off in her own space. I remember walking into the vocal room and seeing her sitting on the floor with a pen and paper in her hand, tears falling down her face. She was crying all out. I asked her if she was okay. She looked up like she was okay, and I knew she was ready to record. We went back in, and I was like, yo, she's ready to record. And what y'all are hearing is Gabrielle singing that song in one take. That's the first and final cut of her singing the song all the way through. She was literally crying as she was recording the song. It was an incredible moment that none of us will ever forget. You have had an illustrious career and are still writing that story. You have worked with a list of fascinating artists. How did you meet Gabrielle? Or what’s the story of how you all connected? Thank you. I appreciate it; I'm always in the business of trying to find talent. So, I came across Gabrielle singing on the Instagram Explore page, and she was just singing a cappella, like maybe 15, 20 seconds, and I immediately noticed her tone. That's the first thing I noticed. I was like, oh, who is this? Her tone is incredible, and I just wanted to know more about her and what she was doing with her incredible voice, so I reached out to her. We talked back and forth a few times, and then we just started working on music within a week or two right after that. It was so organic, and it felt like we were meant to work together. Our creative chemistry is one of a kind. The most amazing part was that we did two music videos and recorded five songs before the meeting. We worked together for an entire year-long before we even met in person. That was awesome! What was the process like writing with her? Is working with artists just beginning their journey easier or more challenging? You would think that it would be more challenging, right? She was not new to working with music, but as far as our working together, she was fairly new in the music business. It's like we were meant to work with each other. Everything just flows, and it’s always easy. I remember I sent a melody to Gabrielle, and she was able to fill in the melody with her lyrics perfectly. I would tell her repeatedly that I've worked with many songwriters, but I've never worked with a songwriter who can fill in every melody with the perfect word. She's an exceptional songwriter. So, working with her is super easy. It was said that you are positioning yourself to still do collabs with established artists, but your heart and passion is in developing artists. Please tell us more and how can developing artists work with you? Well, I'm a firm believer in the process. I believe that every artist you have to go through this process of learning how to become an artist, how to speak, how to deal with the music industry, how to move in the music industry, you know, how to deal with people even if you don't like them, and that's something that you have to learn. Every profession, if you think about it, has to go through a process. Like to become a doctor, you have to go through a process to become a doctor. To become a lawyer, you have to go through a process. But for some reason, people think you can just wake up and become an artist and be famous and know how to deal with it. I think artist development is where you learn these skills and where you learn your sound as an artist, your identity as an artist, again, and how to move as an artist. I have a great passion for finding, discovering, and helping develop artists. I think that's important and something that I have a true passion for, and I will continue to do that as far as in my music career. I will say that every single time I've worked with a new artist who's come out on a major label, they've either been nominated for a Grammy Award or they have won a Grammy Award. Ashanti's first album won a Grammy Award. B.J., the Chicago Kid's first album, I believe five times he was nominated for that album that year. Cardi B's first album, which she won. So, I just think the developmental process when it comes to working with artists is so important. What are you looking for? What makes an artist someone you feel has “it?" I come from the era where artists, you know, the Ushers, the Michael Jacksons, the Janet Jacksons, the Mariah Careys, the Whitney Houston, it's like they all had this certain look, right? Please don't take this the wrong way, but I feel like the difference between an artist and a singer is that an artist can walk into a room full of people, and by the time they get from one side of the room to the next, at least half of the room is going to turn around and say, yo, who is that? And I feel like if you look at the megastars in the industry, they all have that thing that when they walk into a room, they just have this energy, this personality, this look, this vibe about them to say, who is that? And when you can get half of the room or more to say that for walking from one side of the room to the next, to me, that's when you know you have an artist. And then from that point, you add on or they can sing, you add on their talents and work ethics. Known as Rio, They Need A Hit…when you hear “Life’s Been Crazy '' do you say to yourself, this is a hit, or are you supercritical, hearing more to be done or improved upon? I've been in this business for a long time. I knew once this song was recorded, immediately after Gabrielle recorded this song, I looked at her mom, I looked at her friends who were in the studio, and I looked at producer Ivan, who was also in the studio with me, and I said, bro, this is a hit song. I said this is a hit song. I knew immediately that this was a hit song, and the way that people are responding to it now is proof that I wasn't wrong. The amount of people who are loving this song, the streams, the Instagram reels, which is like at three million right now, and we're just on the second week, it just shows the magnitude of what this song can become. As much as I can take credit, I say it again: Gabrielle wrote an incredible song, and she's literally crying on this song when you listen to it. What was your favorite part in creating this song? My favorite part about creating this song was the process. We literally started with just some chords; the fact that we were able to create this song with her friends and family in the room, the fact that she wrote this song on a pen and paper, and the fact that she was crying while writing the song, the fact that she was crying while recording the song, the fact that it's a real story about her life, the process of creating this song by far is one of the best sessions I've ever been a part of. And I'm not just saying it, being a prisoner of the moment, I really feel this way from the bottom of my heart. This is probably one of the best recording sessions I've ever been a part of because after she recorded and did her one-take, everybody in that room had tears in their eyes. Not a single person was just sitting there like, oh, cool. Everybody had watery eyes. Some people were crying because she was crying, and the words were so heartfelt. She really is a single mom with two babies, and she did have to work two jobs, and she did struggle. So it's just such an incredible story, and I hope the world, I know the world, I see the world already gravitating to this song. Mark my words: Life Been Crazy is a hit record. Instagram

Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Bbboris’s latest release, “Flower,” on all majour streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Bbboris! We loved “Flower,” we wanted to ask! What was the inspiration behind this release? Were you drawing from personal experience? The inspiration for Flower was a beautiful girl with whom I fell in love. Her name is Nargis, and our relationship is complicated, to say the least. The song was a sort of goodbye to her. I have a history of dealing with heartbreak through my music, and this instance was no different. Nargis means a type of flower in Dari, so I named the song after her in a sense. What’s your favorite part of the creative process and why? My favorite part of the process is falling in love. I love love. I used to enjoy hearing the music I made out of Love, but over time, I’ve come to realize that if I was compelled to make and release a song out of Love, that usually means I've lost it. A bittersweet sentiment, but I’m still hopeful. What’s the origin behind your name? Boris is my legal name. I just added two b’s to the beginning of my name to make it stand out better online. To be honest, it's a pretty boring origin story, but over time, I’ve come to use those extra Bs and have fun with them, calling myself “bad boy Boris” or “break bread Boris” or whatever fun alliteration I can think of. What quality do you believe is the most important for a musician to have? In my eyes, the most important quality for a musician is a love of music. That will keep one dedicated, persistent, and authentic to their craft and artistry. What’s next for Bbboris, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? I take my life day by day, so I don’t sweat the future too much, but I’m hoping to release more music, maybe do some shows, and expand the movement. I have a label, M4BMU$IK, with friends and fellow artists, so watching them grow and develop their own vision is always exciting. We’re hoping to put on a tour and establish ourselves as a collective. Regarding my fans, friends, family, supporters, haters, and others, it’s always love, respect, and blessings. I’m not one of those artists who expects people to listen to or appreciate my music, so when they do, it’s always inspiring and uplifting to me. All I can say is thank you. Instagram TikTok

Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Diamond Blacc’s new release, “F.U.C.K”, out now on all majour streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Diamond Blacc! We loved “F.U.C.K”, and we had to ask! What did the creative process behind this release look like, could you take us through it? Thanks so much for having me, and I'm so happy to hear you dig the song! This project unlocked such a different plane and space for me mentally and creatively. It is truly a labor of love, and it's taken me about three years to create it from its inception as just an idea to a full song and production complete with videography and digital imagery. What was your favorite part of bringing your vision for the music video to life? My favorite part about bringing my vision for this music video to life was shopping for all the items I needed. I enjoy hunting for specific items I have in my mind and finding unique and creative pieces for my visuals. My parents actually join me on my quests, and my nana has some of the coolest antiques I often use, so you could say it's a family affair. Costumes and wardrobe are always the first things to pop into my mind, so once I have the looks together, I am able to frame the sequence and vibe of the aesthetic I am aiming to portray. What does music mean to you, and what do you enjoy most about making music? Music means so much to me as I stumbled upon my musical abilities at one of the lowest points in my life. I truly knew it was a gift from God because it brought me joy and happiness, which was a stark contrast to my life at the time. Music is a gift, one that is interchangeable and truly meant to be enjoyed by all. I enjoy the freedom and expression of making music, and I am grateful that I am able to do it myself and for myself. It gives me hope, and it is one of the best ways to keep it alive. What would you like listeners to feel when they hear your music? Music is the window to the soul and the key to the heart. I seek to uplift, empower, and inspire. My music is a reflection of my life and experiences. We are all on this crazy journey of life together. I hope my music can accompany you along the ride. What’s next for Diamond Blacc? Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? I want to thank everyone for their support, as always, and all their love. Please be sure to listen to "F.U.C.K" and check out the music video. It's dope! I have a debut performance next month, so please follow me on IG @diamondblacc1 and my website diamondblacc1.com to stay up to date and in touch. I appreciate you! Instagram Facebook
