- Stacey Ann Is More Than Just A “Body” On Her Soulful Release
Can’t you look past and see the person inside for once? Combining a comforting, indie-folk-pop sound with soft and compassionate lyricism, singer-songwriter Stacey Ann has long captured hearts. This talented female-fronted five-piece band has been on an epic musical journey utilizing honey-sweet harmonies, breathtaking melodies, and beautiful instrumental arrangements. Releases capture imaginations and warm hearts, and in the face of their vast artistic potential, the sky is truly the limit for this talented outfit. Inspired by industry titans like Carole King, Fleetwood Mac, Florence and the Machine, and Kate Bush, Ann and her band have carved a niche with their compassionate and sincere lyricism and sound. Masterfully striking the balance between fragility, soul, and power, they’ve kept crowds at events like the Nannup Music Festival spellbound. Paralleled by her graceful fashion sense and red hair, Ann strikes the balance between the delicate and the powerful, making enthralling comparisons and, most importantly, captivating music. Ann shows why she’s one of the most exciting talents in Perth’s competitive music industry. Led by a beautifully melancholic piano, the instrumental performance leaves nothing to be desired. The star of the show here, though, is undoubtedly Ann’s vocals, and as she sings lines like “Was any of it love, didn’t you know, I’m not just a body,” her voice swells and bursts with tender emotion, taking your breath away and melting even the coldest of hearts. Ann has once again knocked it out of the park, but this is the (admittedly high) standard we’ve come to expect from her. We can’t wait to see what she’ll show us next. Stacey Ann’s release “Body” is a beautiful and soulful offering that will tug on even the most hardened heartstrings. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Stacey Ann’s new release, “Body”, available now on all majour streaming platforms. Instagram Facebook

After founding Labile Records in 2004, Stembridge has been a paragon and visionary in the music industry, showcasing rare versatility and the equally vital ability to innovate and evolve without compromising quality. A musical shapeshifter of the highest order, his ventures Drifting in Silence and Long The Night may not initially sound similar. Still, the underlying quality and artistic genius that underlines both releases are the mark of Stembridge’s artistic footprint. In his venture, Long The Night, Stembridge fittingly takes us on a musical journey that feels simultaneously mysterious, bewildering, and captivating. Beckoning listeners to follow with its dark yet brilliant and ambient soundscapes, Long The Night is a fully immersive musical experience that channels the mysterious beauty of the brilliant night sky and the stars that adorn it. Softly drawing you into the shadowy, ethereal realms deep within our psyches, Long The Night innovates and stimulates while drawing on strange yet familiar influences. In another of his most noted ventures, “Drifting in Silence,” Stembridge trades the mysterious yet charming brilliance of the night sky for the warmth and gentle familiarity of the great outdoors. In all its expansive and grand simplicity, nature has the innate ability to inspire and evoke the visceral. In this project, Stembridge manages to channel this truth to significant effect. Expect breathtaking videos showcasing man and nature in harmony and glory, combined with gorgeous choreography. Once again, channeling the power of ambient electronic sounds and synths that seem to capture the simple essence of nature itself, feelings of tranquillity wash over you on this project. With a dogged commitment to his artistic integrity, Derrick Stembridge accepts nothing short of brilliance for any of his releases. Through his Long The Night and Drifting in Silence ventures, he’s pushed the genre of the ambient realm forward by channeling the power of day and night. Not content to simply have his voice heard, he’s also ensured that he’s allowed other artists to make their voices heard through his imprint Labile Records. Whenever you’re ready to step into the vast world of ambiance Stembridge has created, tap in and check his projects out; we’ll see you on the other side. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Derrick Stembridge! First, what was your vision when you created Labile Records? What did you want to achieve? When Labile Records came to life in 2003, it was much more than a mechanism for disseminating my musical compositions. It was born from a vision to create an all-encompassing platform that wasn't confined to a single genre or a singular voice. Initially anchored by my first project, "Drifting In Silence," the label was a canvas upon which I could paint a broad spectrum of sonic emotions, extending from IDM to ambient and even to industrial terrains. Collaborating with industry partners like IODA and later Sony Music's The Orchard, I aspired to create a label that serves as a lighthouse in a vast sea of electronic and experimental music. The label needed to be more than just a brand; it aimed to be an influential voice that could resonate with a global audience while promoting avant-garde artistry and diversity in electronic music. As someone who's been doing this for so long, what's been the favorite part of your musical journey thus far? Looking back, it's not just the milestone moments that make this journey rewarding but also the smaller, nuanced experiences that have helped me grow as an artist. While working on "Drifting In Silence," I had the privilege to create tracks for VH1's Behind The Music for Pink, contribute to various TV spots, and even score for the compelling documentary "The Sons of the Jaguar." These varied experiences haven't merely padded my portfolio; they've significantly enriched my artistic vocabulary and broadened my understanding of how music can be a powerful medium for storytelling and emotion. There's quite an interesting contrast between your ventures "Long The Night" and "Drifting in Silence"! What was the inspiration behind the two incidents, and what kind of feeling do you try to capture in them? "Long The Night" and "Drifting In Silence" are like branches stemming from the same artistic root. While both are ambient, "Long The Night" delves into darker, more complex sonic realms. The projects seek to challenge and provoke, employing drones, field recordings, and modular synths to venture into ambient music's more reflective and darker realms. On the other hand, "Drifting In Silence," which was also the first endeavor I undertook and the spark that ignited Labile Records, leans heavily towards a cinematic experience. This project is a sonic tapestry woven with emotional threads that range from tranquility to melancholy, exemplified perfectly in the latest album released in May this year. Tracks like "IV XV MMXXII" showcase a cinematic yet slow-burning soundscape, while others like "As You Drift Away" feature a lush synth tone that encapsulates the listener. If your audience could take one thing away from your music, what would you want it to be? The essence of what I aim to provide my audience is a form of emotional literacy and a sonic journey. I aspire for my works to be not just compositions but tools for introspection and reflection. I want listeners to find themselves in the crevices of my music, identifying the emotions that often go unspoken and unfelt. The idea is that when you listen to "Long The Night" and then"Drifting In Silence" or any of my other works, you emerge on the other side with a fuller emotional palette, capable of understanding, articulating, and exploring your internal world more fully. What's next for Derrick Stembridge? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you want to say to your fans? The next chapter of my artistic journey is already in the pipeline. I'm gearing up to release "Past Present Future: Archive 1" in October and "Past Present Future: Archive 2" in November. These compilations will showcase not just the breadth but also the evolution of my creative endeavors. They will serve as a testament to where I've been musically and glimpse the exciting future ahead. In light of the positive reception to the latest "Drifting In Silence" album, I'm even more encouraged to explore deeper and push boundaries further. To my fans, your unwavering support and active engagement fuel my artistic journey. I can't stress enough how much your enthusiasm, critical feedback, and words of encouragement have shaped and will continue to shape my work. Instagram
- Fancy J London Takes Soul To New Heights With Her Self-Titled Album, 'Fancy J London'
Having sharpened various skills throughout her lifetime, the jack of all trades, Fancy J London returns to give us the goods with her latest thorough, sultry, and empowering self-titled album, 'Fancy J London.' The recording artist, psychologist, teacher, cosmetologist, cartoonist, fashion designer, and, more importantly, the singer-songwriter is deep within the world of philanthropy as well. Fancy J London is known for supporting several charities, advocating for ending domestic violence while also living half her life in Mexico, and trying to help those who were not given the same opportunity as us. Recently releasing her self-titled 14-track album, 'Fancy J London,' she's more than ready to give her audience what they've been craving. Fancy J London's intro track, "Float," the tune opens with a slightly nostalgic feel through the warm and organic R&B instrumentals that sweeten the song's sugary atmosphere. As Fancy J London begins singing with her heavenly falsetto, she tells a romantic story of being in a state of trance by someone's mesmerizing ways, similar to how we feel about her ethereal performance. The supporting instrumentation takes us into a moment of peace, especially through the soothing electric guitar elements alongside a sultry bassline that gives us atmospheric aspects of Jazz and Soul, opening the album with poise and grace. Moving onto the second piece, "Our Love," we can tell that Fancy J London is pushing through this romantic theme with force, especially as she begins giving us the goods on this piece. This track gives us a taste of the past and present, offering a lo-fi blend of R&B and Jazz, with added hints of brass and synths that float over the high end and provide a dreamy and sensual atmosphere. We can't help but hear a similar tone and raw passion to that of Billie Holiday as Fancy J London takes her sweet vulnerability and serenades us into our ascension above this plane. Transitioning into the third track, "Letting My Feelings Free," the track begins with a soulful electric guitar and mid-tempo R&B drums, giving the song an organic and natural feel. While Fancy J London begins singing of someone who brings out the best in her, she offers incredible vocal layering that swoons us with her angelic melisma and harmonies. The song's instrumentation is rather minimal, letting Fancy J London's calming vocals stand centerstage. With the addition of a modern kick to end the song off with another sultry and sensual feel, we love the versatility that Fancy J London has provided with her album thus far. We can't help but drift into the prime eras of Jazz, Soul, and Rhythm & Blues, primarily through the fourth piece, "Meant For Love." The song opens with Fancy J London offering her crooning vocals whilst singing of two lovers learning each and every way of each other. Accompanied by soothing down-tempo drums, a profound bassline, and fluttering keys that glimmer with glitz and glam. We must note the broad and captivating vocal range that Fancy J London offers within this track, as she sings her passionate and romantic message with the utmost emotion and heart while the piece comes to a mellow end. Jumping into the more modern piece, "Flat Line," the track begins with bright electric guitar strums and synthetic drum patterns, giving us a more contemporary R&B sound. That being said, Fancy J London enters the song with her timeless vocals and soft reverb that haunts our ears and surrounds us with pure emotion and passion. Again, Fancy J London gives us blissful harmonies through her layered vocals, yet this time around, she tells a more emotional story of troubled love that brings a crushing feeling. As she sings of reaching out and asking for someone to catch her as she falls, we're more than mesmerized by Fancy J London's lyricism thus far. Bouncing back with her next track, "Resuscitate," this sweet lo-fi track opens with a hefty kick and snare, accompanied by heavenly pads that float with grace and elegance. As Fancy J London begins softly singing another sensual lyrical message, she gives us, even more, versatility through her peaceful delivery as she almost whispers her intro verse. As the instrumentation slowly expands with more organic elements, we feel this glowing and radiant sensation exude off the tune, especially with help from Fancy J London's broad and soulful vocals, and she sings of a past relationship that empowered her to change for the better. Getting nostalgic again with the next track, "Lost in Love," we're met with warm synth keys, airy drum patterns, and Fancy J London's soft vocals that sing another heartfelt message. As a deep and groaning low-end synth makes its way in to give us hints of 90s R&B, we're lifted into the sonic sweet escape that this single has to offer. Moving through the piece, we love the shifts from major to minor that the instrumentation delivers, especially as Fancy J London brings her warm vocal melodies and serenades us with her otherworldly passion and authentic vocal stylings. Diving into the next track, "Another Rhythm," the song begins with another reminiscent 90s feel with the sonic snares, synths, and drum patterns. As Fancy J London makes her way in with another soothing falsetto vocal performance, she begins singing a heartfelt message of broadening her horizons with help from a new love, which also helped her heartbeat to "Another Rhythm." The supporting production offers incredibly mellow and sensual elements, emphasizing the emotion and passion that Fancy J London has created this album with. Ending the song with her layered vocals that send us into a daydream, we love the journey through the project as we reach the halfway mark. Moving into the delicate and downtempo ninth track, "Roses," the song opens similar to the sensation of a rose's scent floating into us with heaven and bliss. Through soft and jazzy keys, a heavy kick, and Fancy J London's layered vocals, the track gives us a slice of serenity right off the bat. What's not so serene is the saddened message that Fancy J London sings, depicting the "Roses" that were once for her and now land in the hands of someone else. We also hear a similar flair to that of Lana Del Rey, primarily through Fancy J London's striking falsetto and sultry vocal harmonies. Onto the tenth track, "Vanilla Beans," Fancy J London gets the most sensual, sultry, and desirous on this sweet tune. We love the earthy and organic tones that this song offers, blasting us to the past with the warm Jazz/Soul instrumentation and Fancy J London's incredibly unique vocal stylings. Again, giving us a powerful performance through her authentic falsetto and heightened emotion, we love the raw desire and passion that exudes merely within the sound of her voice. The instrumentation gives us the most delicate minimalism through a soft bassline, organic drum breaks, and sultry brass elements, letting Fancy J London soak in the spotlight. What we love most about Fancy J London's album thus far is the thorough, deep, and soulful instrumentation, especially within the eleventh track, "Rainy Day." Opening with the same vibes as the title, we're met with an ear-pleasing bassline, organic downtempo drum patterns, and a shimmering electric guitar. As Fancy J London begins singing of feeling gloomy and wanting to be held by a specific lover, she tells incredibly poetic lyricism that keeps us fully engaged in her desirous and passionate message. This tune might just be our favorite off of the album, as the instrumentation is just as pristine as Fancy J London's brilliant vocal stylings. Moving into the sweet and serene piece, "Picture a Love," the track begins with Fancy J London's soft falsetto accompanied by a plucky electric guitar, a delicate bassline, and crisp drum patterns. We're lifted into tranquility with help from Fancy J London's vocal layering, primarily through her falsetto that shimmers like angels descending from the heavens above. While singing of the memories that burn and ache within her heart, she tells such profound stories that linger in our minds and keep us craving more of such an authentic and vulnerable artist like Fancy J London. Not to mention the song's crisp and sultry instrumentals, we love the sincerity and genuineness within each element. Giving us more organic flairs with the next piece, "Cheers to You," we're left basking in the glory of the tender piano melodies blended with a lo-fi beat that gives us elements of the past and present. Listening to Fancy J London's lyricism, she passionately sings an ode to those with broken hearts and who feel lost on their path to clarity and serenity. An incredibly passionate and raw ballad, we're head over heels for the delicacy and softness that this song exudes, as Fancy J London sings her tender and relatable message for listeners everywhere to relish and savor. Reaching the last track of the album with, "Other Half of Me," Fancy J London opens this piece with soft shakers, a sensual bassline, and warm piano melodies alongside her desirous vocal portrayal. While singing us into bliss once again, Fancy J London gives us a more emotional message of sticking through the good and bad times of a relationship; she continues to exclaim her endless desire for someone she holds incredibly close to her heart. The instrumentation continues with a soulful blend of organic and synthetic elements, exuding nothing but love while ending the album on a positively passionate note. Be sure to check out Fancy J London's 14-track, in-depth, and lyrically flawless album, 'Fancy J London,' as she sings her self-titled album with themes that anyone can relate with. Congratulations on the release of your 14-track self-titled album "Fancy J London." Did anything, in particular, inspire you to create this project? Thank you kindly, I was thinking of creating a full R&B album for quite some time now. After the release of my 'Shadow' album, many of my fans, friends, family, and team members were enthralled with the 5th track "Charades" and asked if I would ever create an album in one solo genre and that's what I ended up doing. Seeing as your album 'Fancy J London' has 14 in-depth tracks, how long was the album in the making? When did you start making pieces for the project? My self-titled album was in the works well before the release of my 'Reflect' album because I am normally 2 albums ahead in case I get too busy to complete an album. Although that isn't the case now as I am preparing for my 9th album and I haven't finished my Throne Deluxe release yet. I am also trying to release an album of every remix I have collaborated with DJ Ross tha Boss on. "Too much to do, not enough Fancy". Lol! Did you work with any fellow artists, producers, or engineers to achieve such potent and passionate instrumentals for your album 'Fancy J London?' I have had the pleasure of working with several talented producers, DJs, and musicians from the U.K, U.S., Africa, Turkey, Brazil, and Canada just to name a few. My self-titled album instrumentals were created with a combination of my own mixes along with my Record Label producers. Is there a track on your album 'Fancy J London' that's your personal favorite? Why do you feel so pulled to that piece in particular? Actually, I have two favorites. "Roses" is my favorite track because it explains the powerful pain of heartache behind being in love and losing love and how it turns a heart that was once beautiful blushing rose into a dead petal-less stem of thorns that no one can dare touch. "Cheers To You" is deeply personal because I have beat a lot in my life from fighting a terminal illness, surviving domestic violence, and building my life from losing everything to having it all, plus some. It's a way for me to acknowledge how far I've come being my own cheerleader while I support others that have been where I have been or worse. How would you describe the entirety of your self-titled album 'Fancy J London?' What themes should listeners expect when taking a listen? Fancy J London is just that, a ball of emotions and imperfections in the highest of notes to the lowest of notes bearing my innermost thoughts, secrets, and turmoil wrapped up in tearful vocals that gets a bit shaky accompanied by soothing harmonies, and whistles. My music helps me heal, express, and grow as an artist and I enjoy every part of it. Instagram Facebook #BUZZMUSIC
- Ace Wild Is Untouchable On His Gripping New Release “Something Else”
The Wisconsin emcee continues to level up on this catchy new offering. In a musical world faced with constant upheaval, change, and evolution, artists who can maintain a consistent message while continuing their artistic evolution are increasingly rare. Rapper, artist, and trailblazer Ace Wild has managed to walk this delicate line. Although he’s continued to evolve and push his artistry to greater heights since dropping his debut album “Fresh Start” to immediate acclaim, he’s managed to do so while maintaining the transparency that initially endeared him to fans. Wild wears his heart on his sleeves, and with his burning passion for music and penchant for connecting with fans on a deep level, this talented artist continues to capture the imaginations of audiences everywhere. Originally from Wisconsin, Wild’s introduction to music was, by his admission, rocky at first. He learned to produce first, building his skills before slowly expanding into vocal roles. Fast forward a few years, and he’s opened up for standout hip-hop acts like King Iso, Caskey, and Mayday. This electric MC seems to get better and better with time, constantly collaborating with other local artists to push the scene forward as a whole. Fully independent after founding his brand, “WILDCARDMAFIA,” He’s continued pushing the limits of his artistry while building hype for his brand, “WILDCARDMAFIA,” and the only direction Wild is going is up. “Something Else,” one of Wild’s latest releases and the namesake of his “Something Else” EP, sees the versatile emcee continue his journey of artistic progress to dizzying heights. It features booming bass, crisp snares, and a catchy melodic instrumental performance, but Wild’s vocal performance once again steals the show. Lines like “Forget it, I'm different, just something 'bout me I can tell / Like I'm not human in the slightest made from different cells” exudes the confidence of an artist operating at the top of his game and knows it. At the same time, lyrics like “Took some time to find myself, ain’t no longer looking” also testify to his continued growth. Ace Wild’s latest release, “Something Else,” is the latest stop on his meteoric artistic ascent as he continues to push his limits higher and higher; tap in and stream his new release “Something Else” from the “Something Else” EP, both available on all majour streaming platforms. It's so exciting to see you continue to level up and put out fire releases! What was the inspiration behind this song? I appreciate y'all for continuing to tune in! It's been quite the journey the last few years, but I'm blessed to see how much it's grown and continued to move forward. The biggest inspiration behind this project was my need for more fulfillment. I've dropped the most singles I have this year compared to previous years, but something was missing for me. Due to my new release plan, I had to pull myself out of writing full albums with well-thought-out concepts. So, a quick 15-minute, 5-track project was the way to go. Since there isn't such an overarching concept to this project, the inspiration for its emotion and lyrics deals with what I felt at the time of creation. Whether it was feeling like I didn't belong, having trust issues, or feeling slept on when it comes to the scene out here. I needed to be aggressive on this. What was your favorite part of bringing the "Something Else" vision to life? My favorite part about bringing SOMETHING ELSE to life was the sound. I gave it its title due to needing something else from what I was doing. I followed a formula all year that got boring and didn't truly feel like how I wanted to sound moving forward. How my vocals said to how I rapped and sang on every song felt so right and became something I'm thrilled with. Also, having every single part, which includes the writing, recording, producing, mixing, mastering, and graphics, all done in-house by me, gives that fulfilling factor a whole new energy. What motivates you to stay on your grind and keep releasing music? It's all about turning this dream into reality. Since I dropped my full-length album about a year and a half ago, it's been getting crazier along the way. I don't take things for granted regarding the show opportunities, all the artists and fans I've met, and all the friendships I've made since regaining the confidence I knew it would take to keep growing. I've taken a different approach to music and life over the last couple of years. All the changes I've made in my perspectives and habits have brought me far beyond where I thought possible. I want to make an impact on my fans the same way my idols did for me. So, whatever it is, I must do to improve myself and my creativity to keep inspiring others is a no-brainer. What would you want it to be if your listeners could take one thing away from your music? Don't be afraid to be yourself, but don't be afraid of change. The only way you can improve your life is if YOU decide to. Drugs, alcohol, and no plan made my life a living hell for longer than I anticipated. I focus all that energy on telling my story to help others who have followed a similar path. If there's anything at all I want people to take from the music I make, it's that you're not alone in the struggle, but finding improvement comes from within. What's next for Ace Wild? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you want to say to your fans? What's next is even more craziness. I've got an official website on the way, tons of merch shows getting booked monthly, two collab projects, music videos, and many more singles that'll surprise some people. Next month will be a follow-up from the first installment of one of my series of tracks that I do specifically for my brand and fans, illuminating what we're trying to do. If there's one thing I have to say to my fans, it's that I love every one of you. You're the best fans in the world, the loyalty is unmatched, and we're about to get to the levels we've always dreamed of. It's WILDCARDMAFIA for life! Instagram Facebook

Why must the sun forsake us and withhold its warmth? Channeling messages of freedom, truth, and headbanging into electric performances, Jimmy Swagg burst onto the scene and quickly established himself as one of the brightest talents in his generation. Unwilling to compromise on quality and his artistic vision, unity has been one of his most important themes, bringing people and audiences together with his mix of Spanish and English offerings. Having performed at legendary venues like The Whisky A Go-Go, The Viper Room, and State Social House, Swagg isn’t some random stranger to the game. - G Flip Cherishes A Love They Don’t Feel They Deserve On Their Gripping Release “Good Enough”
Sometimes, love can be complicated. For most of the music’s history, bands of legend have followed a rigid yet brilliant formula. Powerhouse drummers, audacious guitar riffs, and charismatic and spellbinding vocals have enthralled audiences for decades. To buck this trend while still capturing the same level of brilliance and magic is an exceedingly difficult task, but one that Australian pop-rocker G Flip has managed to achieve. An extremely passionate and talented artist in their own right, G Flip’s approach to music sees them being the beatmaker, vocalist, guitarist; you name it, G Flip can do it. There is something about G-Flip’s music that just feels visceral. Few artists can mystify yet captivate as they can, yet there’s a certain familiarity in their music that speaks to the underlying humanity in all of us. Impassioned vocals, hip-swiveling rhythms, and the mastery and utilization of a broad range of instruments are. Still, it's a fraction of the iconic G-Flip experience, and you must experience it for yourself to understand. Fresh off the release of their highly acclaimed album DRUMMER, this proudly nonbinary artist continues to impress with every release. “Good Enough,” contrary to its title, is another standout offering in G-Flip’s impressive and expanding discography. “Good Enough” also features a gorgeous video that blends perfectly with the song's feel. Dressed in dark clothes and shades, G Flip’s mournful yet beautiful vocals swell and build as they play a weathered piano. As the intensity reaches a breaking point, G Flip musically transforms, trading their piano for thunderous drums and trading blues for rock. As night turns to day and back to night again, G Flip sings their heart out and takes your breath away. It’s a powerful release that oozes the brilliance of an artist at the top of their game, and Flip shows no signs of slowing down, either. “Good Enough” is a powerful and captivating release that will find a cozy home in your pop and pop-rock playlists. Whenever you’re ready to liberate new music, tap in and stream “Good Enough”, available on all majour streaming platforms. Check out G Flip’s excellent new album “DRUMMER” too, also available on all majour streaming platforms. You knocked it out of the park with “Good Enough.” What a great introduction to DRUMMER! We have to ask, how did you develop “Good Enough” anyway? What was the inspiration behind this release? “Good Enough” is a song I’ve had for a long time, and it’s gone through many iterations. While writing it, I sat down at the piano and wanted a big ballad-style chorus - I thought, “What would Adele or Lewis Capaldi do?”. I’m a fan of both artists and had never released a belt-y song like that. I made a lot of versions of this song, and when it finally got to where it is now, it became my favorite song on the record. As for the meaning of the song – “Good Enough” is about not feeling good enough for someone you know deserves the world. Sometimes, you love someone but aren’t in the right headspace to love them how they deserve. It’s tricky to admit to yourself and even harder to say out loud. How did you decide what the music video for “Good Enough” would look like, and what was your favorite part of bringing the vision for this release to life? I knew I wanted the video to have a darker feel to it and have me and my kit. The song has an upbeat feel but dark lyrics, so I wanted to portray that in the video. I worked with the director, Kyle Caulfield, on the concept, and I love what we made. This video was so fun to shoot. It was probably the coldest I’ve ever been, but drumming in the rain was crazy fun and was always on my bucket list. What’s been your favorite part of being able to make your music and share it with your fans? It means everything to me to make music and share it with my fans. I get emotional when I think about my fans and my gratitude for always supporting me. I want to keep making music and making them happy because that makes me happy. What did you envision for DRUMMER, and give us your favorite tracks off the album and why? Growing up, I always wished there was a pop album centered around live drums. When I was making DRUMMER, I knew I wanted to make that. I wanted to make an album with only live instruments and no samples or fake sounds from a laptop. I played many live instruments on this album - drums, guitar, piano, glockenspiel, harmonica, etc. Playing live instruments is my favorite, so making this album was fun. I’m proud of how it turned out. I’m proud of the whole album! My favorite song is “The Worst Person Alive.” It’s so fun to play live and is just a banger! What’s next for G Flip? Is there anything you want to say to your fans? I’m currently on my US tour, which has been awesome! After this, I will make heaps more music and play more shows. I’m so grateful that this is my job, so I can’t wait to give more to the fans. It makes me so happy. Instagram Facebook
- Ute Lemper Grasps At What Could’ve Been On Her New Release “In My Flame”
Love can be everything and just as quickly as nothing. For as long as mankind has existed, we’ve had an inexplicable yet unshakeable connection to the arts. Although it’s tough to reach the pinnacle of the vast expanse of the artistic world and all it entails, there have been individuals who undoubtedly just see things differently throughout history. Turning every artistic project, they touch into gold, these individuals are creative forces that push the boundaries of the art forward. For international superstar Ute Lemper, this statement definitely rings true. With no topic, genre, or medium off-limits for her artistic expression, she’s solidly cemented her well-respected status in the industry. By all accounts, a creative visionary, there’s not much Ute Lemper has not managed to do over her decades-long career. She’s translated her music into dance with renowned talent Pina Bausch, and she’s taken Broadway by storm; she’s re-imagined classic works from legends of literature like Pablo Neruda and Charles Bukowski; there’s nothing she can’t re-imagine, finding inspiration from her music everywhere. Perhaps most poignantly, Lemper doesn’t simply make music for music’s sake; she’s dedicated to making music that means something. When you listen to a Ute Lemper release, it doesn’t simply stimulate your ears but also your soul. Lemper’s latest release, “In My Flame,” feels like a 5-minute journey into her profound artistic psyche. About the release, Lemper says, “In the face of our loss of innocence, a broken heart, the earth heating up, cities exploding, and revolutions trying to make a change, I wanted to offer quiet and salvation inside the storm.” Based loosely on the emotional journey of a relationship in turmoil, expect a striking video that depicts surreal scenes that jump from the serene to the disastrous, combined with an excellent vocal performance from Lemper herself. Alternating between joy and the longing for what could have been, “In My Flame” is a striking release that will make a lasting impression. Ute Lemper’s “In My Flame” is a dynamic offering that shows that this talented musician is still operating at the height of her powers. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Ute Lemper’s “In My Flame”, available now on all majour streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Ute Lemper! We loved “In My Flame,” we had to ask! What was the inspiration behind this release? Were you drawing from personal experience? The “In My Flame” video illustrates my song with great imagination. The subject is survival and persistence in a world of chaos, with a belief in the good to overcome. It suggests a complete emancipation from old toxic ties and finding a space of peace and wholeness inside the flame of life. Like a calm inside the storm, like a space that suggests a perspective on life with grace to continue and wonder about the metamorphosis of time. While the planet is in danger and humankind is cruel, there is peace inside that individual flame that wants to continue with love for the simple and nature. The four elements send their energy; they coexist and can feed but destroy each other. Everything constantly changes, and the AI animation takes you on this journey between the worlds. As someone who has engaged with so many different forms of art, what does music mean to you? Music has a pure connection to the heart. It is my best friend and always my salvation. I love to write, arrange, and produce my songs, invite a family of super-talented collaborators, and create, out of a feeling, a piece of art that many people can connect to. How did you get into music in the first place? Through the heart and necessity to make it a full-time commitment. A life without music would be a boat ride in the desert on the sand without water. I need music as the fish need the water to swim and breathe in. The water and the music take you on boat rides and adventures and make you encounter the most powerful element of life. I like to tell stories in music and place a poetic novel inside the musical landscape. Music expresses the fine lines that connect chaos to harmony; on those strings, you play the violin of life and sing the songs of hope. What would you want it to be if your listeners could take one thing away from your music? The grid. What’s next for Ute Lemper? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you want to say to your fans? I keep writing and imagining. It comes along with life. I keep touring and performing many classic projects and new inventions. Once a problem or a sorrow is put into music, it becomes beautiful. Instagram Facebook
