I started working on “Delusion” after finishing my debut EP: “Unpredictable.” I didn’t know what I wanted to do next. So, one night, I sat down with my journal and allowed myself just to write whatever I was feeling/thinking. After multiple writing sessions, “Delusion” was born. “Delusion” reflects the conflicting emotions that arise after a breakup. It’s about realizing your worth amidst the pain of letting go. • Steinsdotter Mourns The Betrayal Of A Friend On “Out of Body”

Betrayal always stings, but you can still appreciate the good times shared. As celestial alignments herald the arrival of her new release, “Out of Body,” London-based enchantress Steinsdotter continues to push her artistry to its very limits. With a sound, persona, and aura that invites the extraordinary, Steinsdotter’s releases blur the lines between absolute magic and reality. Able to captivate off the strength of her vocals or compelling lyrical content and narratives, Steinsdotter’s ability to excel at both has made her one of the most exciting prospects in the business. Although Steindotter’s mysterious and ethereal artistic persona may indicate a certain level of aloofness, part of her charm is her willingness to be vulnerable. Her releases sometimes feel like therapy, as if her music becomes her medium for an emotional outlet. Fittingly for an artist of her creative caliber, Steindotter’s artistic plans for 2024 were also incredibly creative and further added to her air of mystique, with the London musician committing to dropping a project every full moon of the year. Crafted in collaboration with the esteemed Agon Branza, Steindotter’s latest release, “Out of Body,” is a captivating offering that has a dark, underground/alternative pop feel. “Let’s go out of sight, out of body / out of mind,” Steindotter sings, the tiniest hint of sorrow tinging her voice. Reflecting on the track’s deeper meaning, Steinsdotter hopes to shed light on the heartbreak of losing a friend while offering solace and comfort to those navigating similar experiences. It’s a frankly refreshingly look at an issue that isn’t discussed much in the industry, and we can’t wait to see what the next full moon will bring us. Through her music, Steinsdotter shares her journey of personal relationships and perseverance and illuminates a path for others to seek their own as they get swept up in her dark soundscapes. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Steinsdotter’s latest release, “Out of Body,” on all majour streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Steinsdotter! We loved "Out of Body" and think its inspiration was also fitting! We had to ask what the creative process was like for this release. Thank you so much. That makes me so happy to hear that! I decided to release a new song every full moon this year - so that has been very exciting! But of course, every song is very different, seeing how I’m such a genre-bender - and “Out of Body” was my first kinda feel good clubby tune of 2024, so I was very curious how people would receive it! I wrote the lyrics long ago, maybe years ago - when I felt very low. But listening to it now just makes me wanna go out and dance in the sun. What's your favorite part of the creative process in general, and what was your favorite part of seeing the vision for this release come to life? There are many layers to making a song and then releasing it. To be honest, I’m one of those obsessive music nerds who is completely in love with the whole lifestyle of it. Ask anyone; I don’t have a life outside my creative process now! I just live it and breathe it. One of my favorite parts of the creative process is to be in the studio with Agon Branza with a fresh idea and watch as that idea grows big, juicy wings! I wrote “Out of Body” about friendship and how it touches our hearts, so I should love the collaborative part of creating. It’s all well and good, what I can create alone, but you never know what you can create with someone. It’s always a surprise when artists merge - watching and observing what it becomes is part of my joy. What goals do you want to achieve through your music? I want to travel the world on a tour bus with my band! And sleep like a pile of kittens between all the instruments! I love connecting with people through music, whether musicians I’m playing with or fans who show up for a live gig. I’m in love with everything about it. What does music mean to you? I think music is my love language in the world. I’m quite shy, but somehow, I can unveil myself a little more through music and poetry. What's next for Steinsdotter, and is there anything you'd like to say to your fans? Other than I love you? We have big live tour plans coming up! We'll be playing some gigs in London this summer and maybe going around Ireland for a bit! I’ve never been to Ireland and want to see it all! I've got a naughty song coming through for summer 2024, so come to a live gig, and let’s go Out of Body together! Instagram Facebook

  • Paper Anthem’s Latest Venture Is A Tale Of Complexity And Solace

Like the timeless symbol of the ouroboros, Paper Anthem begins exactly as it ends… After nearly a decade of solo endeavors in America, frontman Joseph Hitchcock moved to the UK, the birthplace of the indie trailblazers who inspired him. There, he teamed up with guitarist Noor Harajli (Brazil), bassist Carlo Haltrich (Romania), and drummer Joe Spoors (Nottingham), all filmmakers who accidentally found their way into the music industry. Their intense recording schedule bore fruit in December 2023 with the release of their first EP, "A Victimless Crime," offering just a taste of what they have planned for 2024 as they navigate the vast London music scene. Now, in 2024, Paper Anthem returns with ‘Coelacanth,’ the first single from their upcoming EP, which will be released this summer. Produced by Danny Monk, the track is a surrealist sonic journey, opening with eerie, ethereal synths before crescendoing into a buoyant indie rock climax, reflecting the tumultuous nature of the lyrics. Written while living in Seattle’s Chinatown, Hitchcock tells the story of his complex relationship with a full-time teacher and part-time escort. Reflecting on days spent smoking weed (legally!) and watching anime, he concludes that this was a relationship where two people sought solace in each other, yet honesty remained elusive. The production quality of "Coelacanth" stands out, with Monk’s influence adding a polished yet raw edge to the track. The use of contrasting musical elements—from the delicate opening notes to the robust, bouncy rhythms—enhances the song's narrative of finding beauty and struggle within a complicated relationship. Paper Anthem’s style is reminiscent of early 2000s indie icons like LCD Soundsystem, Foals, and Bloc Party. These influences are evident in the track’s structure and energy, yet Hitchcock infuses his unique voice and perspective, making ‘Coelacanth’ feel familiar and fresh. • A Genre-Blending Journey Through Nature And Emotion On Dover Lynn Fox’s, “Low Moon”

From a young age, Canadian singer-songwriter Dover Lynn Fox was immersed in a diverse and vibrant musical environment, which shaped the foundation for her latest EP, 'Low Moon.' Influenced by her parents' love for renowned artists like Neil Diamond, The Mama's and the Papa's, and Fleetwood Mac, as well as her exploration of contemporary indie pop acts such as Florence and The Machine, Travis, and Mazzy Star, Fox sets herself apart with her skilfully honed sound. Her adeptness at blending varied musical genres contributes to her artistic expression's distinctive and captivating essence. Armed with this eclectic array of influences, 'Low Moon' emerges as a fusion of pop, rock, and folk, drawing inspiration from the wonders of the natural world. Each track in the EP is infused with a connection to nature, landscapes, and the environment, serving as the thematic glue that unites the collection. Drawing inspiration from the rugged and frosty vistas of South Ontario, the EP opens with 'Winter Son,' a reflection of a chapter in Fox's journey overshadowed by weight and uncertainty, triggered by her father's battle with cancer. Through the emotive depth of her resonant and wistful vocals, set against a backdrop of melodious acoustic guitar and piano arrangements, Fox delicately weaves a narrative that amidst life's wintry seasons, there persists vitality and abundance. Following on the EP is 'When Youth Was Wasted,' a track born amidst the depths of a dark Canadian winter. Inspired by the paradoxical nature of nostalgia, Fox crafts a dreamy melody that transports listeners back to the memories of summers past. Through evocative imagery of blue waves, highway drives, sunsets, thunderstorms, and the cherished companions who rendered those seasons unforgettable, Fox delves into the bittersweet realization of youth slipping away. With haunting vocals and a full band accompaniment, she grapples with the notion of never wishing to glance back and perceive a squandered youth. Steeped in folklore, myth, and tall tales, the third track of the EP, 'Phantom Lover', emerges as an indie-pop power ballad with a subtle touch of folk essence. Inspired by a pivotal chapter in Fox's journey, marking the conclusion of a significant relationship, 'Phantom Lover' is driven by her wistful and commanding vocals, establishing itself as a cathartic anthem for heartbreak. Bringing the EP to a close is the titular track, 'Low Moon,' less a structured narrative and more a burst of vibrations and emotions. It serves as a sonic exhale, a homage to life's subtle signals and mysteries, and a call to embrace higher perspectives. Taken as a whole, 'Low Moon' is a testament to the natural realm's potency, authenticity, and splendor. Guided by Fox's commanding vocals' emotive resonance, the EP pays homage to the earth's grandeur while echoing with a sense of yearning and introspection. It beckons listeners to immerse themselves in its evocative journey, each melody unfolding a new layer of emotion and contemplation. Listen to ‘Low Moon’ across all major streaming platforms now.
