  • K. Tones Doesn’t Hold Back In Sonically Rich, Thought-Provoking EP, “Kool”

    K. Tones is back at it again, creating thought-provoking, soulful music sure to grab your attention and leave you wanting more. K. Tones is an artist and producer based out of Columbus, Ohio, and Los Angeles, California. Never conforming to any one sound, his style is a beautiful mixture of genre-blending sounds. K. Tones’ influences stem from his teen years, where he spent most of his time writing poetry and instrumental music. He was inspired early on by a wide selection of genres including Hip-Hop, R&B, Gospel, Alt-Rock, Electronica, and even Classical. When the pandemic hit the world in 2020, K. Tones used the time of isolation as an opportunity to hone in and develop an extremely versatile and unique sound that manages to blend many of these styles together seamlessly. After releasing his extremely self-expressive mixtape “Kontra” in June of 2021, K. Tones went back to the drawing board. In January 2022 he managed to do it again, producing yet another extremely thought-provoking, sonically-immersive world within his latest EP, “Kool”. Over the course of “Kool”, K. Tones explores a variety of genres and sonic worlds, blending elements of Hip-Hop, Alt-Rock, Pop, Electronic, R&B, and much more. Now, let’s take a deep dive into the tracks that make up “Kool”. K. Tones opens up the project with an emotive, layered, vocal-driven track titled “Away”. This track combines soothing, stacked synth pads with soulful, buttery R&B-style vocals. Throughout the track, K. Tones consistently repeats the line, “somewhere far away, there’s a special place, where we’ll be free”. This line is ingrained in the listener’s mind, and we feel it to our core. “Away” is a short and sweet opener, setting up a beautiful base layer for the rest of the project to leap off from. Moving on to the second track, entitled “Downtime”, listeners are immediately met with newfound energy. There is definitely no downtime offered within this track, and we aren’t mad about it. Gritty synth and electric guitar lines combine magically with driving percussion and pumping sub-bass. These hard-hitting features are paired with lighter vocals that float across the track in the upbeat, Rock, and Pop infused banger. As we enter into the world of “Dizzy”, the third track off the EP, we are engulfed by K. Tones’ stacked vocals, auto-tuned to perfection. There is a thick reverb and echo that occurs throughout the track, emphasizing especially the word “Dizzy”, creating an extremely cool effect for the listener. Backed by drums that cut through the intricate soundscape with a yearning force, K. Tones has created a trippy, Psychedelic Rock-infused world, and we are living for it. This is another short and sweet track that packs a punch. “Lovetripper” is the fourth track of this project, which is K. Tones’ take on Cucu’s original version. K. Tones takes a more stripped-back approach initially with the track. We're loving the intimacy created by his vocals, layered atop just singular sub-bass. Layered vocals and thick harmonies maintain the intimacy throughout the track along with a droning synth line. K. Tones picks up the energy part-way through the song, with added production elements and trap-style drums, keeping the listener engaged and hooked onto every word he says. Next up, we have “Separate (Interlude)”, infused with heavier, darker elements that help diversify the sonic world we are immersed in. Wonderfully auto-tuned falsetto vocals layer atop a perfectly gritty backdrop. Now, onto “Love Doesn’t Exist (Same Old Ways)”. As the title suggests, K. Tones’ second last track dives into themes of love and heartbreak. Drowned out vocals help to create a unique soundscape that jumps between distant, reverb-infused layers and more prominent and distinct sections of the hook. K. Tones infuses elements of Electronica in this track, with a heavy, bold, and dark production that punches through beautifully. As we reach the end of K. Tones’ project, we are met with his last track, “Sunset”, an honest, Alt-Rock driven track. It combines sonic elements we’ve heard over the course of the EP, with aspects of upbeat gritty Rock as well as Electronica. K. Tones closes out the project with this high-energy track, and it couldn’t feel more perfect. Overall, this is a thoroughly well-thought-out, sonically rich, genre-blending project. We love the lush and bold environment K. Tones has created in his production, and can’t wait for you to hear it. Go and show K. Tones some love on his standout EP “Kool”, available on all streaming platforms. INSTAGRAM

  • BOY ON A HILL Releases A Moving And Bittersweet Single, “Cut the Chord”

BOY ON A HILL delivers yet another outstanding release with their latest heartfelt single, “Cut The Chord.” Hailing from Western Australia BOY ON A HILL is comprised of members Dan Glasgow and Tom Greble, who formed the band back in 2016 when they met each other playing saxophone and drums in a 7-piece Ska group. “Cut The Chord” is the third single from this up-and-coming Folk-Pop duo. BOY ON A HILL pride themselves on creating beautiful, heartfelt moments for their listeners. Blending aspects of Pop and Folk together, listeners can expect a variety of themes of love and loss infused with acoustic guitar, harmonica, accordion, and occasionally even a string quartet. “Cut The Chord” is saturated with BOY ON A HILL’s signature sounds of acoustic guitar as well as a beautifully soaring string arrangement. Soft, heartfelt, and moving vocals and harmonies perfectly convey the bittersweet feelings that permeate the single. We are loving the intimate yet emotive feeling that comes from the subtle yet compelling instrumentation throughout the track. “Cut The Chord” is a true story that comes straight from the heart. The band notes how the meaning stems from a story of a family who cannot accept their child’s first love interest. The duo repeats the title of the track many times over the course of the song, begging the child to cut the cord and break free from the over-protective and disapproving feelings from loved ones that tarnish their dynamic. Overall, “Cut The Chord” feels devastatingly beautiful, and we are loving every second of it. Make sure to check out the latest single and music video from BOY ON A HILL today. Welcome back to Buzzmusic, BOY ON A HILL. We are so happy to have you here, this time celebrating your standout single, "Cut The Cord." You've mentioned that this song is based upon a true story. Did you find it tough to tap into such personal experiences? Dan: I think personal experiences bring out the best subject matter for creating art. It's always cathartic when you are working through a personal issue and are able to create poetry and capture the emotion as chords and melody. The songs that catch people's attention are always going to have something personal and poignant that show the essence of the human spirit. There are a lot of fake and lazy lyrics and four-chord songs created en masse for the market. They feel utterly sterile to me, no matter how well crafted the music is. What does the writing process tend to look like for you as a duo? Do you write the lyrics together, or do you tend to bring each other different concepts you've written separately? Dan: I generally have the bulk of the song created before we both jam and play around with ideas. For "Cut the Cord," Tom started on accordion but felt the song would be served best with a string quartet. He wrote the arrangement, organized the string players, and we recorded them in about 3 or 4 takes. We first spelled the song "Cut the Chord." They decided on CORD without the musical pun. The song was actually recorded before the pandemic hit. Everything has kind of gone into a time warp since then as our borders closed. Covid 19 has only just arrived in Western Australia. What can listeners expect from the music video that comes along with "Cut The Cord?" Dan: Well, I took some parts of the storyline from the lyrics, which are basically a warning to avoid a certain kind of a boy at the risk of upsetting one's parents. In the real-life story, this was a friend of mine who was in love with a girl from another religion. This caused massive family tension, and the matter ended up in court. In the video, we made the parents become zombies, and the father pursues the protagonist through the Australian bush with a Samurai sword. We shot in the town of Jarrahdale, in the Perth hills, as it has these quaint and beautiful old buildings. The video was made as a project for my twin sons to use as a portfolio to get into a film degree at university. We worked on the scenes together, and then they shot, acted, and edited the footage. It was filmed on an iPhone 13 pro, bar the first two drone shots. The good news is they were accepted into the course, so now we have access to really nice cameras, and the boys will only get better. Nothing like a free film crew! Did you have a specific idea in mind of you who hoped this song would resonate with the most? It's impossible for us to know in advance who our music touches. I can look at data from social media and website visitors, and it shows all ages and from all over the globe. We just try and make beautiful music that we like. What's next for you? Dan: Im working with a couple of artists currently as well as completing more Boy On A Hill songs. Tom is gigging in a million projects, though with Covid recently arriving here, that means some shows are being canceled or restricted in audience size. We had our borders closed for two years which meant that life kind of went on as normal, just without tourists or visiting bands. We've only had ten deaths from Covid, so we've been lucky. We did see some strange stories with folk in the USA waving banners saying 'Save Australia' totally bizarre. We are fine and creating beautiful art Down Under, thank you very much. Rossi enters the picture with a powerful and chilling vocal performance. We are captivated by his delivery, as hooked on every word. Go and show Stefan Rossi some love on his latest track, “Kids,” available on all streaming platforms today. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Stefan Rossi. We are really happy to have you here celebrating your latest release, “Kids.” Can you let us in on some of the main inspirations behind this amazing track? "Kids" really is all about reflecting on the feeling we all have at some point “How easy was it when we were Kids” - this song shows someone conflicted with a friend/family member really stopping their personal growth. Sometimes walking away from bad energy is hard and reminiscing on a simpler time ‘being Kids’ is a nice way to hold onto the love that is now no longer there. Your love and passion for music and performing are extremely apparent in your music. Do you remember where your love for music all began? Yes, My parents were very expressive. My Dad would sing around the house a lot of Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley, and my Mum really loved the trendsetting legends of their time like Madonna, Prince, and Michael Jackson. We have a massive extended family so there was always a lot of singing and dancing at house parties. Also, I started playing guitar at 7, gave up then picked it up again at 13! What sort of atmosphere and vibe did you want the instrumentals and production to give off in "Kids?" Who helped bring the sonics to life? The beat was perfect for the way I wanted to deliver the flow of the lyrics. Danny Duke the producer was always set on that, however, we originally had a guitar loop that was very psychedelic, but it took the song in a darker direction. We didn’t love that and Danny found these sounds sonically that fit the song perfectly. What would you say is the main message you consistently try to convey to your listeners through your music? My main message is “We are all going through something, have empathy for others. We are not one-dimensional characters, embrace your flaws, love yourself. Grow from your losses and you will never lose, abundance is for you. It’s ok to put yourself first, you are worthy.” And each song is different of course however across all of my writing the last few years There’s a high level of awareness in the way I want to set an example for others to relate What's next for you? 'Faith Over Fear EP' will release in the coming months after we drop the next single ‘Going South’. The sky is the limit after that. I have a fantastic team with a lot of family love and support so right now music and writing have never felt better. Instagram

  • Bella Garland Sings the New Anthem for Her Generation With Her New Single “18”

Bella Garland is an American singer-songwriter who strives to make a difference by inspiring, connecting, and healing people through her songwriting. Having faced some health challenges while growing up, Bella found comfort in music. Music physically, emotionally, and mentally healed her pain. At just 13 years old, Bella started to write songs. It quickly became evident that she held a gift for connecting deeply with people through her storytelling and songwriting. Bella is originally from Sarasota, FL, one of America's most beautiful beach towns. She grew up spending the majority of her time writing songs on her piano and lugging her guitar and ukulele to the beach in search of inspiration. Bella's music spans multiple genres, such as pop, country, and folk. Bella now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where she studies Music and Songwriting at Belmont University. Recently, the iconic Bluebird Café chose Bella's original song "18" as the Golden Pick Contest Winner for July 2021, and she got to perform on the Bluebird stage in Nashville. Bella wrote "18" on her dorm room floor her first semester in college during the COVID-19 pandemic. It beautifully portrays the struggle and isolation young people face as the pandemic overshadows one of life's greatest milestones of transitioning into adulthood. 18 takes us on an emotional rollercoaster. The song starts off with some very warm guitar chords. Bella's smooth and youthful tone tells us tales of her golden childhood while reflecting on the conflicting, uneasy feelings and consciousness that come along with growing up. The song embodies "The grass is always greener on the other side." On the one hand, Bella says she can't wait to grow up, but once evolution arrives, she wants to go back in time. Bella sings: "I wanted high heels, and I wanted lipstick, I wanted a boyfriend, I wanted one quick, and I wish I had known I was lucky then, cause when you grow up you realize fairy tales end." The relatability of this song is unmatched. Bella's hooks are both catchy and touching. The production of the record gives the song a very upbeat tempo, and Bella's ad-libs are those you'd find someone belting out during karaoke.18 casts a light on a tough situation that so many young people are facing today. With the restrictions and obstacles that come along with the pandemic, these kids are challenged with having to adjust and accept that the fairytale life, let alone the typical social life they were promised, may be altered in real-time. We absolutely love that you've created an anthem for your generation. What was the creative process of putting this song together like? Thank you so much! I am so happy and truly on cloud 9. I wrote "18" literally on the floor of my dorm room at college. I had to start college in August 2020, right in the middle of COVID. It was so difficult to make friends due to the restrictions. It was the most alone I have ever felt. I know that a lot of young people can relate to that, especially college students. I turned to what I always do in difficult times: write a song about it. When The Bluebird Cafe picked "18" as the Golden Pick Winner for July 2021, I had a true full-circle moment. This song came out of such a horrible time, but it has already given me so much to be grateful for. "Feels like every day you take a ride on a roller coaster called my pride" - This line is beautifully written! Can you please give us a small breakdown of the meaning behind this lyric? Is there a specific event or feeling that triggered this line to come to life? Absolutely! Thank you so much for appreciating that line. It's one of my favorites because it perfectly describes how I, and so many others, feel during times of hardship. At the beginning of the pandemic, every single day felt like things were changing—one moment, I was set to start college in person. The next, we had been moved online. One morning cases seemed to be doing okay. The next day, they skyrocketed. All I could do was be safe and do my part. I could only take it one day at a time. This felt like a rollercoaster, and I never knew when the drop was coming. Everyone had told me how exciting college would be, and there I was, alone on a Friday night. You said that you started making music at just 13. Do you come from a musical household? Who are some of your biggest musical influences and inspirations? The funny thing is, my parents have zero musical ability. I love them so much, but they were more into sports when they were my age. My grandmother, however, grew up singing. She is where I get my voice and my love of music from. My writing does come from my mom a bit. She has always wanted to be an author, and she has a way with words. I feel that she has passed that down to me, just in a different medium: music. Growing up, my biggest influences were songwriters such as Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. I adore the stories they tell through their lyrics. I also grew up listening to Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and other incredible vocalists and writers. What advice would you give to somebody struggling with their transition into adulthood? Remember that nobody knows what they are doing. We are all learning and struggling, especially with everything going on right now. Finding an outlet can be so incredible and beneficial. For example, you are maybe writing or painting! These activities can help you work through any tough emotions you feel, and you get to make something beautiful. What's next for you? I have tons of songs I want to release, and I cannot wait to share them. I'm currently putting the finishing touches on several songs that I plan to release in the coming months. My music takes my listeners through the ups and downs of my life, and I can't imagine a better way to tell my story. I hope to grow my fanbase a lot this coming year, and I also would love to perform more around Nashville and other places too! No matter what, I know that I will always have music. I am so excited to continue this journey, and I am so thankful for my community of supporters who are willing to go on it with me. Instagram Facebook

We are so happy to have you here, this time around, celebrating the outstanding EP, "SUPERHUMAN." This EP is extremely personal. Was it tough to share such heartfelt and vulnerable moments with listeners? Thank you for having me back! I have been working on this project for about ten years now, and it has definitely changed a lot from then to now. I can say I base a lot of my writing on personal experiences and also things I see others go through. I think as tough as it is to share what you create, especially when it comes from a vulnerable place, It is also very freeing. Can you tell us a bit about the recording process for the project? Did you face any challenges or setbacks while trying to record "SUPERHUMAN"? So, as I stated, "SUPERHUMAN" was recorded within a span of 10 years, so a part of why it took me so long was definitely due to challenges, some were personal, I had to come to a point where I can have the confidence to even share my material. I needed this project to sound the way I envisioned it because it is a part of who I am. It is my craft, so it was very important to create something that I would ultimately be satisfied with, other challenges were out of my control, but this is the journey; it is a rollercoaster ride tied in with so much beauty. Your love and passion for music and performing are extremely apparent in your music. Do you remember where your love for music all began? Music has been a great part of my life. I come from a very musical family. When I was growing up in Puerto Rico, my fondest memories were always around the holidays. We would have parties. Family members would play instruments, and others would sing. I remember going to houses with pots and pans and singing Puerto Rican Christmas songs. These memories kept me feeling so complete. Did you have a specific idea in mind of you who hoped this project would resonate with the most? What do you hope listeners will take away from the EP while hearing it for the first time? I want people to understand that no matter what you are going through, even in your darkest moments, we are so much more than what we see with our human eyes. I was not in my greatest spirits writing these songs, but even then, I understood I had a bigger purpose. I hope to help others really understand the beauty we possess within. What's next for you? I just released "SUPERHUMAN" on February 14th, so I'm definitely going to ride this one out for a while, but in the meantime, I'm also working on different projects, collaborations, writing for other talented artists, and a Spanish project in the near future as well. I wanna keep busy doing what fulfills me most. Website Instagram

Additionally, her timeless music has been featured on a variety of National Television programs including, Doug Stephan’s Good Day Morning Show, The Los Angeles Daily News, and the ABC network. Luanne herself notes how she was inspired by folk-rock artists from the 60s and 70s including America, Crosby, Stills, and Nash and Van Morrison, heavily influencing her latest full-length project. Hunt notes, “I consider ‘Portraits in Song’ to be my crowning achievement thus far,” and we wholeheartedly agree with her. Luanne Hunt sets the bar high with this first track. She delivers an elegant and graceful vocal performance, with bewitchingly smooth and captivating tones. Her delivery demonstrates the ease and prowess of a skilled professional who has obviously put in the work to hone her craft. “It Was Always You” is the perfect track to start off this masterpiece of an album with and prepare to dive into the following 7-tracks that follow in 'Portraits in Song.' Allow yourself to be swept away by Luanne Hunt’s captivatingly beautiful track “It Was Always You” as well as the rest of her album 'Portraits in Song.' Welcome to BuzzMusic Luanne. We enjoyed listening to all the unforgettable moments from your new single “Midnight Rain & Roses.” What inspired you most while creating “Midnight Rain & Roses”? In February 1981, my stepfather Bill died after a year-long battle with lung cancer. He passed away right before Valentine’s Day, and on the actual holiday, my mom received a dozen roses from him that he had ordered shortly before his death. It was eerie and strange. And although Bill’s gesture touched my mother, she also was dealing with some anger towards him for a lot of the terrible things he had done in the past. In the song, she is going through a sleepless night, examining her dual feelings of love for him yet disappointment in his behaviors. I thought about putting this story to the song many times throughout my career but never quite came up with the right hook. But suddenly, when I sat down to write the tunes for “Portraits in Song,” the words and the melody for “Midnight Rain & Roses” unfolded like magic. This is your 21st studio album. How has your songwriting process changed over the years, and how do you stay creative? When I first started writing songs, I didn’t play an instrument and would come up with the melodies in my head. Then I would hire a guitar player to help me record a scratch demo. I think I actually wrote some pretty good tunes using that method, but once I taught myself a few chords on the guitar, my songwriting skills got stronger. I learned how to play the piano in recent years and have been astounded to see my songwriting go to yet another level. I’m an extremely creative person by nature, so I never run out of ideas. And I’m always on the lookout for something interesting to write about. Just the other day, my boyfriend was talking about how his mom and dad had an unhappy marriage, yet they stayed together until she died. On her deathbed, she apologized to his father for treating him poorly, and he had no problem forgiving her because he truly loved his wife. The idea that true love always forgives inspired me to write a song. What advice have you learned over the years that you would pass on to the younger generation starting out in the music industry? I believe that all of these television talent shows have given the younger generation the idea that being famous is the goal as opposed to perfecting the art of what you do. To become truly great at something, you have to put in the work and dedicate yourself to reaching the highest levels of excellence no matter how long it takes. That’s really what the journey is all about for those who are true artists. There are no shortcuts to greatness. I have been making music for almost three decades, and I still keep striving to improve because knowing that I keep getting better is what gives me my deepest and most lasting sense of achievement. Accolades are nice, but when it’s all said and done, I want to look back on my work and feel a true sense of pride and accomplishment. This is the “award” I am most interested in. You have worked with so many talented people in the industry, but who’s on your top list of people to work with in the future? I love this question because it’s something I haven’t thought about. But honestly, if I could work with Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys or even just consult with him on a project, that would be the ultimate for me. Although I am a recording artist, one of my strongest gifts is producing music, and much of my inspiration has come from studying Brian’s music, all the way from his early Beach Boys stuff to what he has done more recently. I’ve kind of been his distant student, so how great would it be for me to work with him face to face and learn directly from the genius himself? Facebook Twitter

  • Cloak The Scribe Is No Stranger To The Grind In His New SIngle, "No Sleep"

Soaring in from his native Chi-Town is songwriter, rapper, a hip-hop recording artist Cloak The Scribe with his poised and hard-hitting single, "No Sleep." Learning everything about hard work and hustle from his birthing grounds of Chicago, Cloak The Scribe quickly gained respect around town after releasing his debut mixtape, 'Life Music.' Inspired by the late great Tupac Shakur, Cloak The Scribe says the legendary rapper, "God rest his soul, was my motivation, my impetus." Cloak The Scribe peels back another layer of his complex artistic skillset with new hits like "No Sleep." Produced by Marv4MoBeats, the track offers all the poise, power, and composure we could ask for in a modern hip-hop experience. Diving deeper into "No Sleep," we're met with Marv4MoBeats' rhythmic and mid-tempo hip-hop production that melts our speakers with a dark and hazy vibe while the broad percussion and plucky synths set the intense and fierce tone. Listening to Cloak The Scribe's dominant bars, he bulldozes the rap game with such an authentic flow and confident performance that's just as exhilarating as it is conceptual. We appreciate how Cloak The Scribe ensures this track carries meaningful and powerful depth through bars like "What's crazy to me we strain, struggle to build muscle, but let this system jack our moves and still hustles." Reaching the hook, Cloak The Scribe shares his melodic and soothing vocals to offer a completely different approach reminiscent of the one and only Tupac Shakur. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Cloak The Scribe. We're excited to feature your hard-hitting and confident new track, "No Sleep." When did you begin feeling inspired to write this go-getting tune? No Sleep was inspired by 50 Cent's "Hustler's Ambition" Single from the soundtrack of getting Rich or Die Tryin the movie. Hard work and being a Hustler have been in my blood since I was a kid. But, it only really applied to me when it came to activities that I was interested in. Do you often get your beats from producer Marv4MoBeats, as you did with "No Sleep"? What does his production offer that you appreciate the most? Not all of my beats, but as we've continued to work together over the years, I can tell we have that chemistry needed to take hits as well as great Hip-Hop/Rap records. He has various styles, but I appreciate Marv's ear for music and knowing how to blend different genres together to make something special (or at least that's how I feel). Speaking on your main artistic influence, Tupac Shakur, did he have any influence on the sound, feel, and vibe of "No Sleep"? Pac is definitely a major influence on the transparency in my writing (to this day). Soundscape-wise, as I mentioned, was 50 Cent but delivery, wordplay, execution I have to give to fellow Lyricist "RJ Payne." What impact did you want your bars from "No Sleep" to have on your audience? Did you want to trigger any thoughts or realizations? The impact I wanted them to have is that all the facades and lies to sell records aren't necessary, whether signed or independent. I've never compromised my character or integrity to move a single project. Hard work, smart work, prayer, and willingness to share my life experiences have done more for in this space than anything. My talent for Lyricism and Writing comes in as a strong 2nd to the prior mentioned. What's next for you? I currently own my own Independent Label, and we have a collaborative E.P. that will be released after "Vent Sessions." Website, Single, and Video from collaborative E.P., an announcement of the first Artist signed by my Label and the release of his first solo single and E.P. And a releasing of my Sophomore Album this year as well. Instagram

Check out "Love Games" today, available on all streaming platforms. We are so happy to have you here celebrating the release of your standout single, "Love Games." Can you tell us a bit more about the inspiration behind this track? The inspiration for "Love Games" came directly from my love life. I wanted to write a record about the way our deepest desires for people can make us tap into places intimately that we wouldn't normally do. I've been in a relationship where all I wanted to do was show this person how much I wanted to make him feel good, submit to him and show him that he can have the woman of his dreams if he just gives in to the temptation with no restraints. What sort of atmosphere and vibe did you want the instrumentals and production to give off in "Love Games?" Who helped bring the sonics to life? I really wanted to bring back that classic 90's baby-making era of music that created so many of us today. I wanted heavy bass, lots of electric guitar riffs, as well as bouncy and flirty waves. I almost wanted it to feel like you can feel a cool breeze on a hot summer day, and you just can't feel the energy in the room ascending. I wanted this to make you feel sexy and free and to tap into your wild side, if only for the duration of the song. Did you have a specific idea in mind of you who hoped this song would resonate with the most? What do you hope listeners will take away from this song while listening? I honestly just wanted to connect to the 25 and up the crowd. Those generations can still remember the way 90's and 00's RNB made them feel. Those classic baby-makers that you would put in your bedroom playlist that's what I wanted to achieve. When I wrote it, I mainly had one thing on my mind, and that was setting the mood for passion between two adults. I hope that in listening to this, people will see the deeper connection in making love, the bond in submission and passion between two consenting adults. Your love and passion for music and performing are extremely apparent in your music. Do you remember where your love for music all began and who some of your major inspirations were growing up? Absolutely! Michael and Janet Jackson have always been major influences for me with song and dance as a whole. As far as my sound, I would give credit to that entire new jack swing/RnB/neo-soul 90's genre—Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, SWV, Total, Bel Biv Devoe. Producer wise would be Teddy Riley, Babyface, Darkchild, and many more. What's next for you? Right now, I am working on this 3rd project finally, which is set to be released on 4/4/2022. The title of the EP is called "The Last Laugh" it's a memoir of each stage of my life romantically, sexually, emotionally, and more. I am putting my personal life into this one, so it has a deep staple in my heart, and it couldn't be more on time. I also just found out that I was nominated for Best R&B Female of the Year at an upcoming awards show, so be on the lookout for the official announcement for that. Stay tuned for a few more videos and major performances and features to come. Thank you for always supporting me in my career, and I appreciate you taking the time to rock with me. Instagram Twitter

  • Canyon Displays A Different Side Of His Music In, “FRIENDS”

Grooving his way in from New York, singer-songwriter and versatile pop recording artist Canyon wonders why we can't be "FRIENDS" in a sweet new single. Canyon's previous hit, "In The Paint," landed him over 1.3 listeners on SoundCloud and an incredibly loyal fanbase. Canyon saw so much support that he decided to flee his job in tech and pursue his passion for music full time. With just a limited number of releases, Canyon is quickly making a name for himself in our cut-throat industry. Although Canyon started his music career with raspy flows and heavy rap, which he says has landed him vast success, this time around on "FRIENDS," he's excited to show "a thoughtful side and that I can also sing," Canyon mentioned. This song is a groovy alternative pop tune that also showcases the NY-based artist's range and skillset. Taking a deeper listen to "FRIENDS," the song opens with a playful and bright upbeat pop drum arrangement alongside warm and vibrant keyboard melodies. As Canyon rolls in with his smooth and melodic flow, he offers this relaxed blend of rapping and singing while asking, "Why can't we be friends," paying homage to the 1975 War tune of the same name. We adore the overall psychedelic and groovy feel through the warm melodies and bright background effects, perfectly preparing us for the summer season right around the corner. We truly appreciate how Canyon merges relaxing alternative pop with subtle rock elements through the organic drum breaks. As we drift our way to the outro, Canyon closes the track on a carefree and passionate note. Turn up with your "FRIENDS" to Canyon's feel-good new single, now available on all streaming platforms. Keep an eye out for the artist's forthcoming album, 'MEANWHILE,' in early April. We're genuinely impressed with your dynamic approach and feel-good atmosphere in your new single, "FRIENDS." So why did you want to switch things up for this release? First off, thank you, I appreciate that. I was aware that "FRIENDS" would stark contrast to the three singles I had put out previously, but the creation process when I made the song was pure. It didn't feel like I was switching things up when it was more natural than that. As my album will show, my music is eclectic, and I tried to put my singles out in the order that I, was a fan, would want to be introduced to an artist. What inspired your passionate and playful lyrics in "FRIENDS?" What was your songwriting process like? I remember the day I wrote it well. I think during a bad part of covid in Manhattan, it was like 11 am. I had just smoked a joint. I went online to listen to beats and ended up in a wormhole of this one producer I really liked. I downloaded the "FRIENDS" beat and wrote that shit super quick. I was going fast because I was on such a good thread mentally. I was really in a flow state and didn't want to lose it. The song's meaning has been misinterpreted a handful of times. Normally I'd prefer to just let people find their own meaning of whatever works for them, but in this case, I wanna clear it up. The song is not about platonic friends. The song is about finding real friendship within love. What was it like creating the instrumentals and production for "FRIENDS?" Did you work entirely solo on this process? I actually did not create the instrumentals for FRIENDS. Fantom did, he's the guy who produced "Dancing in my Room" by 347Aidan, and he's really talented. My engineer and I did change the production a bit in the second verse when I say, "chill and laid back like this fuckin instrumental," and obviously did a little distortion at the end of the song, as you hear. As far as the writing of the song, that was all me, and as I said, it was written in one shot. Should we expect to hear "FRIENDS" on your upcoming album 'MEANWHILE' this April? What theme or concept will you deliver this time around? Yes, "FRIENDS" will be on 'MEANWHILE.' The concept behind 'MEANWHILE' is based on old movies when a narrator would finish one storyline and go "Meanwhile, in…." During the pandemic, I quit my job, recorded the album, and worked tirelessly on making it have a well-crafted story arc. It's like "while the rap game was moving one direction with a ton of quantity, meanwhile, this whole other movement focused on quality was happening that rappers from different generations with different styles got behind." You only get to release your debut album once, so I really made sure it is a masterpiece and studied the best albums of all time. What's next for you? I'm releasing the "FRIENDS" music video soon and then my album 'MEANWHILE.' On 'MEANWHILE' I worked with Raekwon and Jadakiss (Go listen to Shark Tank and Reservations if you haven't yet). One song I'm really excited about is a joint I did with one of my biggest idols, Big K.R.I.T. I saw Big K.R.I.T. open for Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y when I was like 15, and it was like time froze, and I knew I wanted to be and would be a rapper. And a number of other rappers I really respect are on the album as well. Facebook Artist Website Instagram
