  • ¥ANG’s Debut Single “Stay With Me” Is Out Now!

¥ANG is a Los Angeles based singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-talented recording artist. Growing up, he was always inspired by the greats of the 80’s and 90’s. His debut single, “Stay With Me” is an incredibly uplifting and pleasant new song. Crafting a spacious and organic bit of composition and songwriting from the offset, “Stay With Me” builds up to become more of a classic pop-rock hit that holds close to loving, poetic vibes. A brilliant melody that develops stylishly throughout helps make “Stay With Me” another anthem worth knowing about. The entire feel and fire of “Stay With Me” gives off precisely the sentiments implied by the title. ¥ANG’s sound and style as an artist stands tall amidst this kind of writing and performance. The track doesn’t prompt you to consider genre or comparisons so much as it simply fills the room with good vibes and a clear connection to the moment. As a result, this is how you’re left feeling when the song is over. ¥ANG is an incredible artist and musician! “Stay With Me” was an absolute pleasure to listen to and we look forward to hearing more from ¥ANG in the near future! Listen to “Stay With Me” and read more with ¥ANG in our interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Congratulations on your debut single “Stay With Me”! How long has this single been in the works? What does this release represent for you? Thank you! Actually I started writing this song in early August. It suddenly came to me almost in its entirety all at once. But the real story is that I’d been working on this riff literally for years but it just wasn’t gelling. All I did was change the rhythm and the length of the main guitar riff and boom! It worked. But then it needed another section and that proved to be really difficult. For the rest of August I struggled to find another section that fit and then suddenly booya! It came to me. The section I’m talking about is the guitar solo. Anyway, this song represents artistic victory for me. I’m very happy with the song. It’s all compact and everything fits together nicely. It can be understood as a straight up love song but actually it’s really a conversation between God and a doubting, wavering believer. I’m not religious but if I did have a relationship with God then that’s how I’d describe it - with the lyrics of this song. How long have you been writing songs and making music, and how does this project differ from what you’ve done before? I’ve been writing songs for over 15 years and been involved in lots of different musical projects. I’ve been involved a lot in reggae and electronica but this style of music - indie rock / alternative, is how I started out in the early millennium and now I’m coming back to it. I think my voice and temperament fits this genre the best. I was always a massive grunge and punk fan and I think you can hear this in Stay with Me. I like the lo-fi sound. Things are way too overproduced these days. There’s a real organic sound to your music that we love! How does the songwriting and recording process compare to live performance for you? Actually my recorded sound is really close to my live sound. For this song we pretty much recorded it live with hardly any punch-ins, hence the organic sound. The only real difference is the mixing and layering of the sound but a lot of that can be done live as well. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned through music so far? Carpe diem. Don’t waste your time - quit f**king around as Trent Reznor correctly said. But you also have to be patient. Rome wasn’t built in a day... It was a pleasure to have you here on BuzzMusic! What do you think is next for you as an artist? Where do you hope to progress within the next couple of years?! I have another single in the works - just having issues with the drum track. Might have to re-record the whole thing. It should be out by the end of the year. I’d love to tour next year - promoters call me yo!!! I think I might have an album ready by this time next year as well, so keep listening to the ¥ANG!! I’ll keep y’all posted. www.instagram.com/yang_slang www.facebook.com/yangbangerz #BuzzMusic

  • Joey Capo Is Back With His Fourth Single Of The Year “Airplane Mode”

Joey Capo is a gifted singer/songwriter that originates from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania but has an Italian-Vietnamese background. In 2018 he decided to move to LA, California, with hopes to make it in the music industry. He is an independent artist and also is a self-taught producer. Joey Capo delivers raw pop and R&B tracks with a twist. His style is slightly somber, chill and mellow. With every track that he releases, he continues to gain more and more attention from fans and other artists. His brand new track “Airplane Mode” (produced by 5oh8) is out now and available on all major streaming platforms! Joey Capo has released four singles this year already, he began the year strong with the release of “Malibu Bliss”. This was soon followed up “Nightcap”, and in mid-July, we saw the release of “Count On Me” that showed yet another versatile side of the up and coming artist. As an introduction to the artist, “Airplane Mode” works its magic in an instant. The songwriting and the style shine well, the finish is professional, the structure keeps you interested with various changes from one moment to the next. In addition, though, Joey’s voice has something brilliantly genuine about it. There is a tone and style to the delivery that immediately feels fresh, and honest. Even the back and forth between the clean vocal and the distant echo adds something subtle yet effective to the mix. The end result of all of this is a song that fits well amidst today’s musical landscape, but also refuses to fully stick to the unspoken rules of what creates a hit. That touch of originality should hopefully take Joey Capo further and further with each new release. Listen to “Airplane Mode” ft. 5oh8 on Spotify and read more with Joey Capo below! Hey Joey Capo, welcome back! We're completely captivated by your new single “Airplane Mode”, you have such a strong and warming presence throughout your tracks. Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your recent release? The song “Airplane Mode” talks about disconnecting from the everyday things that pull us away from our natural selves. Tuning out the world in order to bask in these moments of solitude to reconnect with our true happiness. Yet, my main intentions for this record is for the listener to grasp these moments we have alone like a chance to recharge and be more in tuned with what makes you motivated to achieve your own personal greatness, without having any outside distractions steering you away from what is right for you and only you. You've had such a strong love and passion for music at such a young age! How do you think you and your music have grown since you first started writing, versus now? Through the experiences that life has given me, allowed me to definitely write on a deeper level. But like anything else we want to work for or achieve comes a great deal of practice. Learning to take the time to work on my craft and be able to put down my feelings in lyrics without worrying about what people want to listen to, but more so what they need to hear from me. By being as real as I can possibly be. I wanted the music I create to represent me completely. It’s a mindset that I had to shape, that helped me become the artist I am today. As well as releasing 4 singles in 2019, you also put out a music video for “Nightcap”! Can you tell us about the concept behind the video? What can your fans expect from the upcoming video for “Airplane Mode”? The nightcap video explained about trusting your heart and not questioning what feels right. Going off of your first instincts to what makes you happy. I explained it in a love song because I feel that is something we all throw walls up for. Because being able to trust not only other people but especially our own judgments we make on a daily basis. The “Airplane Mode” music video that the producers 5oh8 and I created is taking things to another level to get the message across. We wanted to keep the simplicity but at the same time still wanted to really paint the picture of this moment of solitude. Letting go of what fears that hold us back from who we were born to be. How has moving to Los Angeles ultimately shaped who you are as an artist? Do you notice the increased difference in opportunity as an artist? Moving to LA was one of the scariest moments but at the same time one of the greatest choices I ever made. Everyone in LA all trying to chase their biggest dreams. Yet, to many, it can be intimidating. Although growing up I was always inspired more under pressure. It’s something like a fight or flight feeling you get being here. So yes, I do believe it shaped me to be more focused on the tasks at hand, taking each day as another piece to Lifes mosaic. Till the day comes where you can sit back and see how every achievement to even every mistake created your dreams into the master piece you have envisioned. LA is filled with many opportunities in the arts. Like meeting 5oh8 started off as a great opportunity for me to finally work with like-minded people. Because since nightcap was made we created more of a brotherhood. Which, if it wasn’t for moving to LA I might have never had the honor to work with them. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this album release? Any shows in the near future?! After this release, not a lot is changing. I still have a lot of music I am going to be releasing. Actually, my team and I will be releasing 20 songs for the year 2020. We are also working on doing the tour during that time. But I’ll leave the suspense of that to build up more for everyone. But I also really appreciate you all at BUZZMUSIC for the endless support and being apart of not only my new song “Airplane Mode”, but also being apart of this journey! • Matthew Thomas Wears His Heart On His Sleeve In “Miles Apart”

Independent artist and currently a student at Carson-Newman University, Matthew Thomas is a budding singer/songwriter and musician from Dandridge, Tennessee. Influenced bu powerful songwriters and vocalists like Khalid, Maroon 5, and Ed Sheeran, I would personally compare his vocal style to John Mayer. The hypnotizing, breathy nature completely captivates listeners at first listen. Matthew Thomas’ debut EP is set to release January 2020, stay on the lookout! Earlier this year, Matthew Thomas dropped his debut single “Miles Apart”, a beautiful acoustic and poetic journey of love and loss. Throughout the song, Matthew details the strength of his love, even when distance is a factor. The chorus sings “You’ll always have my heart, even when we’re Miles Apart”, and follows with Matthew repeating “Stay with me”. You can hear the emotion in his voice and “Miles Apart” really showcases Matthew’s incredible songwriting ability. • Lyric Reddick Updates Us On New Music

Welcome back Lyric Reddick! What inspired you to first begin making music and releasing it to the public? I've always been musically inclined, performing in band, choir, theater etc. so performing and entertaining came easily, But as far as releasing my own personal music to the public and even on streaming was inspired by close friends and family after high school they knew I had a gift and they were a big support system into at least trying my hand at doing so. hit the ground running and never really turned back. You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “The Ride”? The Ride was actually inspired by a mixture of things, partly a little "social media" crush I had and also the movie "Poetic Justice"  something about the story line of "poetic Justice" stuck out to me and it was really just the off chance of the relationship between Lucky and Justice blossoming from a road trip. it was an unlikely couple it was an unlikely situation and they somehow grew closer despite the toxicity of their friends in the same vehicle on the same trip, hints the hook...and well...the social media crush is the other part of the hook "elevate you can climb with me, don't worry about the money just spend your time with me" because this person is very inspiring and though i'm sure they're well off its never about "get rich to be happy" but enlightening yourself and shining your own personal light to attract happiness. so..there ya go. Since you’ve been making music for several years, how would you compare some of the earlier material you’ve written to your newest release “The Ride”? I try not to compare my artistry from past to current because at the time i wrote those things I was in that head space in my life and those thoughts or feelings could never be recreated, with that being said i'm sure every artist, writer, model whatever has looked back on older things with the cringe face and well I am no exception to that rule. so if I had to compare earlier music to "The Ride" i'd say I am more vulnerable now to admit things and it's easier to vibe with. That's it. How have you honed your songwriting style over time, and what do you think are the main qualities that make a song truly connect and last in the long-run? I took some time off to not only figure out who Lyric Reddick is as an artist but also as a person. I spent a lot of time in earlier life not liking things simply off of principle or because "men don't do that" or playing hip hop loudly and turning the radio down during RnB...I realized that in order to be heard you have to be relate able you have to have a certain amount of vulnerability and I had to learn to be vulnerable...I had to write music to let people into my mind, I had to be ok knowing that putting music out for everyone to hear is a scary thing and everyone won't like it, had to know that I am going to face a stigma of the "wannabe rapper" and in all of that not giving a damn. and that's how you make timeless music that's how you connect  because at some point somebody has felt the same way. We really appreciate you chatting with us about your incredible music! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? I appreciate you taking the time and interest in my music, whats next? Stay the course, eventually I want to transition from hip hop and RnB into movie scores and symphony composition. I play many instruments as well as having a way with words so anything musically I am not opposed to trying at least once. The industry is crazy to think about and I personally feel its not a one size fits all doorway you have got to get in where you fit in but fortunately I know I fit in somewhere...now its my job to figure out where I fit in and that's currently what I am doing. • Rawiri James Is Ready To “Trip The Alarm”

Born in Auckland, New Zealand and adopted by London’s East End eight years ago, Rawiri James is a gifted singer/songwriter and recording artist swiftly gaining an increasingly large fan base and following. This year, Rawiri released his debut album “Lost Boy” and featured on this project is the explosive single “Trip The Alarm”. Raw, fresh, no autotune in sight, Rawiri James puts across a narrative with great clarity. The lead vocal is laid back, swagger-filled, unconcerned, close to the mic and in our faces. The lyrics are perfectly juxtaposed with the vibe of the music. Rawiri James creates a series of awesome, transformative moments that set the song up somewhere rather special. Rawiri James knows how to craft something that washes over you like a wave of color but impresses and provokes thought in the same instance. The second half of the track sees a more hip-hop style delivery from Rawiri, proving his versatility. Fusing a mellow groove with flickers of hip-hop, soul and R&B all at once, “Trip The Alarm” is difficult to pigeon-hole. The central artistry of it roams free, so the experience just becomes about the music and the idea, and these have been perfectly presented! Check out “Trip The Alarm” here and read more with Rawiri James below! Hey there Rawiri James! Welcome to the BuzzMusic community! Congratulations on your latest track "Trip The Alarm". How did the overall production go for the song? Thanks! I'm excited about it! I wrote the song a long time ago and one of the boys back in New Zealand asked to create a beat for it. Kaivai crafted this sick throwback to early 00's R&B and although it's uptempo, I loved the party beat contrasted against my deep lyric confessions. We're incredibly excited to be featuring your track "Trip The Alarm". We definitely sense that old-school flair you bring to a more contemporary R&B style. Where do you find your inspiration to curate tracks with such originality? I grew up on that golden age of R&B, where Usher reigned supreme and you had Joe, Blackstreet, Marques Houston and all of them. They were my vocal teachers, really. Lyrically, my inspiration comes from my personal experiences and I ain't afraid to be vulnerable about it. "Trip The Alarm" talks about my battle with addiction. And it's funny when I see I people getting down to the hook, partying, while I'm singing "stop stripping me of my armour/before this quit becomes harder..." What would you say is the most impactful takeaway message from "Trip The Alarm”? Do you feel like you're able to connect with your listeners on that deeper level? Look, I think these days we're all addicts to something - whether it's hardcore drugs or alcohol, or working out, or money, or relationships or sex, or social media. In that sense, the message is universal. My fellow addicts and alcoholics might feel me on the track just a little deeper than most people, though! How would you describe the music scene for your particular genre in your hometown? Do you believe that you can fully develop your sound in the city? R&B will always have roots in metro areas like London. It's not the major genre and hasn't been for a while but it has its place, and its followers. I want to build my London team, for sure, but I understand that as independent musicians with online access, my success is more likely to be found in small pockets around the world than concentrated in one area. That being said, hell yes, let's get some American fans too! I love travelling the U.S. and it would be sick to do smaller venues on tour there. Is there anything exciting happening for you within the next few months?! Any upcoming shows you can share with the BuzzMusic community? This month has been crazy, for real! The album Lost Boy has just dropped and it's available everywhere. I wrote a YA supernatural thriller novel, also called Lost Boy that is based on the same themes as my album - that comes out the last week of October. I also won a script writing competition and had a short play up at the Spotlight Theatre in London and that was based on one of the album tracks, "Voices..." So, yeah. Kinda crazy! Now that everything's releasing, it's time to build on that, keep finding them fans and spread the message of positivity! #BuzzMusic

  • Zaydon Is Back With An Addicting R&B Anthem

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, singer/songwriter Zaydon has always loved music. The gifted vocalist taught himself to sing through meticulously studying Youtube videos. Zaydon has established his craft from the ground up, he strives to explore through a diverse variety of genres. Zaydon pulls inspirations from legends like Whitney Houston, and more contemporary acts like Justin Bieber. Fusing his eclectic span of idols, Zaydon creates relatable music for everyone and aspires to make music for everyone across the globe. “She Wildn’” ft Rnb Thug is a new R&B anthem with a versatile hip-hop undertone. Whether he’s weaving through catchy verses or the addicting hook, Zaydon’s powerhouse vocals remain strong over top of the intricate soundscape. The addition of Rnb Thug on this single adds yet another level of versatility and authenticity. Zaydon’s songwriting ability will leave you singing along to every word and “She Wildn’”” features a completely addicting hook that will guarantee a second listen. The soundscape on this single leans partly towards those late-night vibes with the organic guitar but partly resides somewhere a little harder hitting. By the time the track comes to an end, that backbeat has energized the room, and that hook has surely woven its way into your ear. We welcome this up and coming artist into the BuzzMusic Family with open arms and we can’t wait to see what he delivers next! Check out “She Wildn’” here and read more below in our exclusive interview with Zaydon! Welcome to BuzzMusic Zaydon! You give off a really confident aura through your music! Is this a skill you've developed over time or has it come naturally to you? It has definitely been something I have been working on for a while. Before I really began singing I was always the quiet one and never really projected my voice as strongly. Based on the feedback I have gotten in the past, I am learning and trying to apply more strength and guile to my music that I am producing. "She Wildn’" hit us to our very core with your vocal performance. Do you find it comes effortlessly to fill your voice with such passion? I always trying to give a unique tone according to the song and the lyrics, I want my audience to feel exactly what they are hearing for the most part. I fill my voice with the passion that resides within me. I love music, day by day, I am working on my craft and melodies, trying to compose each song to be as catchy and lyrical as possible. Tell us a bit about the creation process of "She Wildn” The song is actually rooted from a true story of a girl I dated years ago. She always told me she wanted a Range Rover. I actually started writing the song with that verse I did solo and then wrote the other parts later on. Rnb Thug wrote all of his lines, during rehearsal we came up with the order of who sings when and where. Do you feel that your music is an accurate depiction of your life? Do you feel ultimately connected to your listeners through your music? I feel like it is very accurate, I know a lot of women out there feel like a guy had wasted there time so this song is dedicated to them. I feel like there is definitely a connection because a lot of listeners I know may be able to relate the song in the sense of someone who had their time wasted, looking for something real. Sometimes after many heartbreaks, one may become tired and start living without care of risks due to vulnerability, which is how I came up with the idea that the female in the story is acting wild. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? It most definitely does, I love poetry and I am very good with my words so a lot of times I find myself being a counselor to others because of how I may words things and how compassionate I am. That is why I love making R&B music. www.instagram.com/zvydon #BuzzMusic

  • Check Out New Music From Sabrina Adair!

Hey Sabrina Adair! Welcome to BuzzMusic! It’s such a pleasure to be chatting with you. You seem to be an artist that puts a substantial amount of thought into your lyrics! Who/what has inspired you to be the artist you are today? Thank you, that’s very kind of you to say! I am very much a product of my parents when it comes to music. I remember we had this 'Eric Clapton unplugged' CD that just stayed in the car and played on repeat whenever we went anywhere. So 7 year old me was very into soulful acoustic songs like “tears in heaven”, I remember it being my favourite song for the majority of my childhood. And then when it came to the house, we rotated between a Feist CD I had gotten my dad, and a Madeleine Peyroux CD, both very similar soulful and almost jazz-like sounds. So when it came to writing, the guitar was where I started. Nowadays I listen to a lot of acoustic-pop and dance music too, so you can find elements of everything in my music. My mom is also an incredible singer, and can often be found humming around the house. So I don’t think there was ever a time in my life where I wasn’t singing or humming something, even if I didn’t think music would become a passion of mine later on. "Lay It on Me" seems like a deeply personal track. Is vulnerability something your fans can always expect from your music? Can you tell us more about this particular song? Yes, definitely. I find it a lot easier to write something vulnerable and real than trying to find meaning where there isn’t any in the first place. That being said, the true meaning of a song, isn’t necessarily literal. Lay it on me for instance, I wrote because I had this idea of someone being in a standstill. They can feel something important to them slipping away, but can also appreciate that it’s okay for that to happen. So it's these feelings of turmoil, but also recognition. The verses reflect the desires of this person contrasted to the reality of their situation. And the chorus progresses to conclude that in order for resolution, there has to be a willingness or acceptance of either outcome. So the song itself is not necessarily reflecting a relationship. I decided to write it this way in order for people to relate to and understand it. For me personally, it reflects a bit the way in which I tackle adversity. It's so incredible that you're self-taught on guitar and songwriting! You're a truly independent artist! What would you say is your greatest accomplishment as an artist so far? What is your ultimate goal as an artist? I have so much music that has not been released that I really love and am proud of. I think learning to trust myself and my instincts has been really important for allowing myself to discover what makes me unique as an artist. My ultimate goal is definitely to have fun.  I can get very caught up in making things perfect on stage, but I’ve come to realize that the reason people enjoy live performances is because of the passion that person has for what they are performing. So my ultimate goal is to have someone watch me on stage and feel what I am feeling in that moment. How has living in Toronto influenced you as an artist? What has been the biggest challenge you've overcome? That's a hard question to answer. I think a person is the product of the people they meet. So it's not so much the place, but the people. The people I've met, and my parents, have shaped my values and the way I think and problem solve. If it weren’t for them, my perspective of my life might be completely different. So I think lyrically, they have had a major influence for sure. And Toronto is a very busy place with a lot of different people, so theres a lot to be inspired by. For a long time, since I am self-taught, I’ve found it difficult to measure my work on some type of scale. Since no one has told me how I am supposed to write, I write whatever comes naturally, but also tend to neglect what doesn’t. And thats where having a music education would allow me to expand what tools I have available to me. So throughout my life I have constantly been overcoming this almost ‘deficit’ in music knowledge if you will! But that's part of the fun! Thank you so much for chatting with us. What's the next move for you artistically? Are you playing any shows in the near future? Next move for me is to release more music and build my repertoire. I have a fully written album that I am dying to record and release. I’m really proud of it. All of my upcoming shows can be found on my Facebook page, such as a one hour acoustic session happening November 4th from 12-1 pm at the Bullring Café, Guelph, ON! Check out Sabrina Adair's new music here and keep up with the artist through Instagram and Facebook! #BuzzMusic

  • Dynamic Duo Lil Djent Get Extra Inspiring And Personal With “All Around Is Love”

Lil Djent is a project that was originally started by NYC-based producer and guitarist Andres Gallo. After combining forces with pop-jazz vocalist Shruti Mutalik, the duo of Lil Djent became unstoppable. Shruti Mutalik played with the cover band "In Kontrol" in Mumbai, India, before she moved to New York City. Lil Djent fuses a multitude of genres while staying electronic at the core. Lil Djent’s “All Around is Love” gets unapologetically honest and personal on this release, both lyrically and performance-wise. It begins in a manner that feels like a diary reading with a free-flowing delivery. Things continue to develop throughout, seeing Lil Djent further envelop listeners in a cascading wave of electronic-pop in increasingly attention-grabbing ways. Once again though, the return to the hook brings optimism a moment of beautiful melody and an attempt to change the outlook of listeners. The middle section of “All Around Is Love” brings through a fully instrumental breakaway, a moment allowing the artist to showcase production abilities and a genuine air of being lost in the moment and in love with the music. “All Around Is Love” is powerful, uplifting, and undoubtedly a release that will propel Lil Djent’s career to new heights. Alongside streaming the new track, we recommend you check out the new music video to accompany it! “All Around is Love” features stunning visuals that capture the imagery of human connection and love. Listen to “All Around Is Love” here and read more with Lil Djent below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Lil Djent! How many releases as a duo? How did this collaboration come to fruition? This is our third release as Lil Djent. We initially played together in another band called Simple Freud. This band morphed into a progressive rock band "The Lilt". Over the years, as our musical influences have grown, we have merged our original hard rock sound with electronic elements. Ironically, this latest song is probably our gentlest sounding track, so very little hard rock on this one. The inclusion of electronic elements began as our vocalist, Shruti Mutalik, had a long military assignment and deployment. In order to keep making music while being miles and hours away, we both discovered that electronic music lent itself well to producing while commuting and traveling. In a way this is how Lil Djent was born. "All Around Is Love" is surging with articulate emotions. What kind of feelings did you want listeners to be washed over with when listening to the song? I would want listeners to feel the energy of the story which the song is trying to tell. It starts with some sadness at the start, then there is the feeling of the discovery of beauty and joy as the song shifts into celebration. When we composed the song, we were led by the energy of the story. So overall, we want to express those positive vibes in this one. Also like the chorus states, we do think people should "celebrate the moment" haha. For real though How would you say your music now compares to the music you curated when you first started out in the music industry? Some rock influence is still there for sure at times, however the incorporation of electronic elements changed our creative process. I'd say its more electronic, textured, and portrays a wider range of emotions for sure. The music video for “All Around is Love” was captivating! What was the overall concept? Thank you for the positive feedback! Well the concept began with the fact that we needed a video that could work without us being on it. The reason was that we knew we would be miles apart for the time of the shoot. That being said, to be honest it wasn't so much us, as it was our friend Jonathan Guttmann who was the brains behind the concept and execution of the video. We did talk about which vibes and tonalities we wanted the video to express. He does awesome video stuff, so we thought it best to let him have full creative freedom. What's the next big thing for you artistically? An album!! We have released three singles. Please do check them out! We are working on the album. Also starting next month we will no longer be miles apart and will start playing live again. Keep up with Lil Djent through Instagram! #BuzzMusic

  • NEW MUSIC: Dynamic Duo Minus 2 Dropped “In My Bubble”

Laced with elements of electronic pop and indie tones, “In My Bubble” takes the listener on a journey through space and time. The soundscape that Minus 2 creates allows you to escape into the lyrical flow and expert production quality. Minus 2 is changing up the mainstream game with their refreshing new take on music. The soundscape throughout “In My Bubble” continues to gather momentum, slowly but surely enveloping you in this surprisingly upbeat and beautifully chaotic downpour of layers and moments. The music energizes, yet the song itself takes you down lyrical pathways soaked in reflection. A diverse mix of musical arrangements, deep lyrical flows, and intense hard-hitting vocals, “In My Bubble” is definitely worth a listen at volume. Residing in Los Angeles is the musical duo of Minus 2. Comprised of 2 ex-professional football players, Collin Charles and J. Black, the two have an unbreakable musical chemistry. Previously teammates at Iowa State University, Charles and Black developed a close friendship through their bond of football and music. Collin Charles has always had music play a large roll in his life from a young age, he’s a multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, engineer, and vocalist. Houston native, J. Black only began really incorporating music into his life in 2017, but his flawless sound and undeniable talent would make you think otherwise. Minus 2’s sound can be described as retro-future that fuses soulful lyrics, catchy melodies and alternative dance instrumentals. Listen to Minus 2’s new song “In My Bubble” here and check out our interview with the artists below! Hey Minus 2! Great to be showcasing some of your new music on BuzzMusic! Do you believe that the way you intend to communicate your messages through your music is easily received by your listeners? We would say so, there are probably some things that slip passed the listener the first time they hear a song but I think that’s true with most music. I always like discovering new details to songs the more you listen to them so hopefully that’s something we provide. “In My Bubble” was an incredibly versatile and catchy track. Where did you draw the inspiration to create this particular type of sound? From a production standpoint it was the first song we made using a new piece of hardware called the MPC Live. It felt like as soon as we brought it home and started messing with it, the beat was made, and within minutes J had the hook written. It took some months to flush out the rest but the heart of it was there. How would you say that “In My Bubble” compares to the kind of music you curated when you first started out as an artist?! In My Bubble definitely feels like a new wave in our evolution. There’s still a lot of appreciation for the music we first released but with recognition that we’ve both improved at our craft and we believe it shows. Do you prefer the more intimate recording process over live performance? How do you personally feel when you're performing your music live? We enjoy recording and performing, they’re both very satisfying in different ways. Exploring the imagination and creating a piece of music that we love is a great feeling, and getting up in front of people to take them on a journey with the art that we’ve created is also a lot of fun. The live performance also has an element of pressure that adds to the reward when it goes well. It was awesome to be able to present “In My Bubble” here on BuzzMusic! What do you think is next for you as an artist? Where do you hope to progress within the next couple of years?! In the next couple of years we hope to progress to a point at which we’ve tapped into the international market in addition to touring the US and continuing to release music we are proud of. We’d love to accumulate more fans but we are grateful for the ones we already have and we want to keep them entertained while having the most fun possible. www.instagram.com/minus2music #BuzzMusic
