- PJay Edmund Releases Debut Gospel Album “Damage Control”
PJay Edmund is a gifted singer/songwriter spreading the gospel from Bowie, MD. As an inspirational gospel artist, PJay strives to create music that communicates God’s message. PJay’s brand new album “Damage Control” opens with the title track and a clip of Pjay Edmund’s father, Bishop PJ Edmund Sr, teaching about how we often encounter hitches that divert our focus from God as we journey through life and the result that leaves us feeling lost and without purpose. “Damage Control”, is the blueprint of how Pjay conquered all to get back into the arms of God. It promises to be inspiring, lyrically rich, and meaningful. “Jesus Saves” ft. Echelon Knoxx throws a contemporary R&B jam into the mix. Still delivering inspiring lyrics, Pjay Edmund showcases his truth through this powerful and refreshing track. Echelon Knoxx delivers quick, uplifting bars that further spread the overall sentiment and add a hip-hop flair. “Humbly” slows down the pace of the album but quickly intensifies into an explosive dancehall vibe during the hook. The music builds up brilliantly here, the voice remains calm and collected, to begin with, loving and grateful, and meanwhile – the marching drum, the strings, flickers of guitar and hints of a vocal choir in the distance – the rising intensity is gorgeous. “Wbyn” makes for a really unique piece that reminds you of the underlying sentiments and purpose of the project. As it progresses, the rising energy is overwhelming, PJay loses himself in the moment entirely, and that’s inspiring to witness. This is the kind of song that comes across as having had so much thought and effort put into it’s making, that it would be almost impossible not to listen intently, and to truly get soaked up by the sound. Next up is “See You” and from the moment the music begins, the softness of the guitar is so close and personal it feels as if right there in the room with you, which is already a huge statement for the high quality of production involved. The first thing you notice and feel as you listen is the sheer level of emotion coming through. The lead vocal has a wonderful combination of tenderness and depth, so the words are almost whispered, but with real meaning. A huge amount of focus and dedication is consistently clear. The ideas seem to span much further than the lines in the song allow, and that’s a gorgeous effect. Regardless of personal beliefs and preferences, the way “The Moment (See You Reprise)” has been written, performed, and produced, is so beautifully flawless, that listening blesses you with a few moments of peace, reflection thought, calmness, and openness. The effect is powerful, and overall as a song, it’s very powerful. “Great Things” introduces a completely new sound the “Damage Control” album. That melody and these words are easy to connect with and involve yourself in, which is a huge calling card in terms of effective songwriting. The gospel-RnB vibe is also one that’s likely to bring a touch of nostalgia for many listeners. “Great Things” is a beautiful track, high caliber performances and production give it the absolute strength and worth to be heard by many. “You’ve Been” brings the album to a conclusion and the emotion that comes forward through the music is incredible. PJay Edmund’s performance as the track builds up towards its climax is just perfect. There’s nothing out of place, there is no need for overwhelming effects or additional sounds, there is nothing flashy, no sign of anyone trying too hard to impress, there is just this music, and these performances, that do everything that needs to be done. “You’ve Been” has been presented in such a way that it just washes over you as you listen. Relaxing you, reminding you of life, the world, feelings, and individual thoughts. It’s a very powerful song, brilliantly polished, sounding meaningful from start to finish. The leading melody repeats just enough times to get into your mind. You become familiar with it very quickly, but it doesn’t get tiresome. You remember it, you find yourself singing it, and you want to listen again and again. “Damage Control” is a sublime and powerful album creatively and emotionally crafted yet professionally presented every step of the way. Musically impressive regardless of genre or theme, yet inherently designed to express a clear connection to a higher power – a belief in something bigger. Well worth a listen at volume! Listen to “Damage Control” here and read more with PJay Edmund in our exclusive interview below! Hey PJay Edmund, welcome back! We're completely captivated by your new album “Damage Control”, you have such a strong and warming presence throughout your tracks. Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your recent album? Initially, I had a bunch of songs I wanted to record. After putting all of the music together I realized it began to form a storyline. Though it was unintentional at the start it turned out to be a great thing. How long have you been making music, and what are your main aspirations right now as an artist? I’ve been making music for over 20 years. But professionally about 7 years. My main aspirations right now are to inspire people all Around the world to try Jesus. He is literally the best thing that has happened to me. You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “Wbyn”? Wow! WBYN was one of those songs I had written over 10 years ago. I was really having a hard time during this time of my life. I just referred back to the Bible and saw a lot of people went through some hard times. But GOD was and has always been faithful. It caused me to reflect and realize whatever I’m facing that there is nothing too hard for God. Since you’ve been making music for several years, how would you compare some of the earlier material you’ve written to your newest release “Damage Control”? I believe my earlier material was a bit immature. I was a lot younger and had not experienced a lot of the world. For this project, my outlook and view on life have changed and God is more real to me then he has ever been! - New Zealand Collective Goodspace Releases Self-Titled EP And We're All For It!
Hailing from Auckland, NZ, Goodspace is an eclectic 3-piece indie-rock band inspired by a more lo-fi, brit rock sound. Comprised of Jeff Chen (vocals, guitar, keys), Lloyd Thomason (vocals, bass), and Nick Annear (drums), the band aims to create music that allows the listener to feel present! Goodspace’s self-titled EP has an eclectic, rhythm packed intro track titled “This Song’s About You”. The track boasts retrospective lyricism, pummeling guitars, catchy melodic riffs, and rhythmic percussion. Goodspace exudes authentic chemistry that only comes from fine calibration and undeniable talent. The lead vocalist has a unique voice that is showcased brilliantly throughout the almost spoken-word verses. Using music as an outlet for their emotive lyricism, Goodspace establishes a solid foundation for their fans to relate to their songs early on in the project. Followed by, “Don’t Want No One to Know”, the rhythmic attitude and chill rock vibe take the listener on a journey through the hypnotizing and mellow indie sound arrangements. “Don’t Want No One to Know” has slight undertones of alternative rock through rhythmic guitars and harmonic layers. I think “Don’t Want No One to Know” can be interpreted differently depending on the listener's situation. The echoing vocals, surf-rock vibes, and overall chemistry on this track is a brilliant indication of what’s to come on the rest of their EP. “Before” introduces them as a band with a clear love for rock throughout the ages. Goodspace presents an indie-rock and slightly pop-inspired soundscape. “Before” features cascading guitar riffs, a raw drum line, and a vocal that’s as smooth as it is gritty as it moves through the story-line. Then you get the lyrics that are consistently developing the melody. “Underneath” pours through with an air of classic familiarity, but this is a completely new story, new details and clever little lyrics reach out and appeal in an instant. A fantastic song, thoughtfully arranged, lyrically fascinating and refreshingly original and honest. It also confidently brings back that authentic rock sound with the riffs and the energy and the freely expressive set-up. Absolutely worth a few listens! “Time Chasing” brings the EP to a sweet yet mellow finish. The silence that follows after the playlist is finished will absolutely encourage another listen. That vocal tone and the style of these songs offer a distinct thread throughout, mood-wise though there’s plenty of eclecticism at work, and for these reasons, the album makes for a wonderful playlist to escape within. A great way to go out, superb guitar work yet again and an overall enjoyable, entertaining piece of music and performance. This EP is a strong release start to finish. We can’t wait to hear more! Listen to the full EP here Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you briefly introduce yourselves to our readers? How did you go about choosing your stage name? Hello! We are Goodspace, a 3-piece band from Auckland, New Zealand, and we make music to make you feel present. Our name directly reflects our way of making music; we write from a place of presence and we try to make our listeners feel present. And that's always a good space to be in, for both artist and audience. How was the production of your latest EP? Did your initial vision for the album end up executing as you thought it would? Our latest/debut EP as Goodspace was mostly recorded and mixed by Jeff in his home studio and mastered by Mike Collier; and in short, yes the album is what we envisioned. As for the execution of process, however, mixing the album ourselves was probably the most unfamiliar territory, but we eventually got it sounding how we wanted -with a little help from our friends (thanks y'all know who you are). "Before" was that type of track that pulsates with energy! What kind of vibe were you going for when curating the track? "Before" is the track that involved the most collaboration. It was constantly being taken apart than put together before we were happy with it, which is maybe why it has an energy of its own. From the beginning, there was definitely a brit rock vibe to "Before" that we were digging so that gave us some initial direction. But we'd say it was less a 'curated vibe' we were going for, and more just letting the collaboration take the song where it wanted to go. The whole EP is extremely versatile and impressive! What would you say is the track that holds the most emotion? What’s the story or inspiration behind this song? Thanks! 'Time Chasing' is probably the most personal and heartfelt song on the EP. It's a self-reminder song to make the best use of your time and not just wait around hoping for something to appear. On one hand, it's this direct song urging you to hustle and chase your dreams and on the other, it's cradled in this super mellow groove. It's weird how urgency is sometimes best conveyed through calm...well, for us at least. instagram.com/goodspacemusic facebook.com/goodspacenz #BuzzMusic
- BuzzMusic Interviews Jet Set Future On Their Latest Music!
Welcome to BuzzMusic Meagan! We’re really happy to be featuring your song “Vice”. It’s very catchy, but also incorporates an integral message within. Can you explain to our readers the truth that is embedded within the track? The intention I had when writing this song was to give hope to others that even though you may feel like you’ll never find the right person, and they all end in hurt, it all pays off in the end when your time finally comes, the wait is over, and all of those hurts prepared you for finding true happiness. When you find that person, you feel invincible and ready to take on the world. Nothing can stop you when you’re together, because love makes all things possible. We’re always curious to learn more about how bands form! How did Jet Set Future officially come to fruition? Did you know the other band members prior to creating the band? One day I got a Facebook message from this guy “E.J.” He said he was hanging out with a mutual friend when he told him he should ask me to start a band because E.J. really wanted one. I had never been in a band before but I wanted to go for it. E.J. recruited a guitarist, Mike, who he admired when he saw him playing in another band. When Mike joined, he said he had to have his partner in crime, Ben, who has played in every band with him. When everyone agreed to meet, despite all having different musical backgrounds, it seemed to mesh really well. 2 years later we wanted to add a second guitarist. I immediately thought of my friend George, who performed in A Cappella groups with me in high school, because he was always showing interest and enthusiasm in my band. I always told him he would be the first to know if we were ever to add a second guitarist. And he was. 📷 Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your new song “Vice”? Although my biggest influence in music is Lana Del Rey, she did not influence this song. My favorite genre of music is 90’s Alternative Girl Rock. I wanted to write “Vice” like it was a 90’s song you were just discovering, so it felt like new. Nina Gordon and Louise Post of “Veruca Salt” inspired my vocal style and melody the most in this song. I wanted to write an energizing song, like their song “Volcano Girls” was, which was the first song I heard in this genre that made me realize how much I loved it. It’s symbolic that the first inspiring song I heard, inspired our first single off our first album. What are some of your ultimate goals as a group? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? Our biggest goal as a group is to expand. We want to expand the places we play, the songs we write, the people we meet and the places we go. We believe life is for the taking and music is our tool to experiencing the best of what life has to offer. In a society of division and labels, music can still gather a group of strangers to a venue, and find that they all have something in common. We believe music unites people, and we are honored to be able to contribute to that. We have no doubt you can handle yourself Meagan, but what's it like working with the self-proclaimed "Rowdy Boys" and bandmates of Jet Set Future? Being in a band is like being in a group marriage. Everyone needs to feel heard, accommodated and appreciated. Everyone makes choices together, and everyone needs to be in agreement, or the marriage will fall apart. If this is hard for just a couple, imagine 5. But 3 years later, we’re still here going strong. Despite having to be the only advocate of the female perspective, and even when they don’t understand, we all respect each other enough to compromise, and that’s what makes any partnership work. Whether it’s a marriage, a friendship, or a band, respecting each other and learning to compromise is the most important thing in making a good thing last. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this song release? Any shows in the near future?! We are excited to soon be releasing our first album. We couldn’t be luckier to have it being recorded and engineered by our bassist, Ben. This allows us to make this album completely genuine. No input from any outside sources outside of the band. This album is 100% us. We are proud to be apologetically ourselves and only write straight from the heart. We can’t wait to share ourselves and our musical message with the world. - Listen To The New Track “Wildwood Flowers” By Blind Feline
It's tough to introduce a band like Blind Feline, especially when they do it so well themselves. These "groove country, psychedelic rock, funk, jazz, and blue/grass playing bastards from Kentucky" are here and they're ready to share their newest single "Wildwood Flowers". Based out of Louisville, band members Oliver Sayani (guitar, vocals), Kurt Spoelker (bass), John Walker (saxophone), and Matt Griffin (drums, vox) all bring their own unique sounds to the band, hence why it's hard to pin them down to one genre. “Wildwood Flowers” is a song that whisks you out to a little ol’ country hootenanny. Don't be fooled by the sounds of nature welcoming you at first, Blind Feline is about to come in swinging with their sweet Kentucky sounds. The stomping percussions, groovy strings, twangy winds, and bold vocals make the sauciest of tunes you've heard since the turn of the century. The Americana flair throughout the lyrics lends the song a classic touch as well. Referencing everything from The Grateful Dead to coal mines to the preacher man, the lines in “Wildwood Flowers” bleed red, white, and blue. What else would you want from a song like this? You'll be on your feet, singing along and getting down to this gloriously infectious song in a jiffy. Check out Blind Feline’s riot of a song on Spotify facebook.com/BlindFelineofficial
- Check Out Melody Maker’s Live Acoustic Performance Of “Adderall & Alcohol”
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Melody Maker fell in love with music at a young age. She grew up listening to the sounds of her father's guitar as her parents sang along and knew that music was something she wanted to pursue. Melody Maker’s music is self-described as American-Folk and she further describes music as the greatest love and one constant in her life. Now based in San Diego, Melody Maker performs are various local venues and strives to spread her sound up to her hometown of Los Angeles. Melody Maker has an organic indie sound to her music and “Adderall & Alcohol” is fairly spacious in some respects, but it builds up in warmth and detail as it moves along. There are dashes of pop mixed in to add further color to the outer edges of the hook, but aside from this you can feel the raw energy and realness of the entire recording, and that’s always a pleasure to experience. “Adderall & Alcohol” is a beautiful song, spectacular and conceptual with heartfelt, kind intentions. The vocals alongside the opening acoustic aura makes for something that feels light and very pretty. As “Adderall & Alcohol” builds, the scene is set before you, the layers of story-line and instrumentation are added one by one, and slowly but surely the whole thing just surrounds and embraces the listener in a classically enjoyable way. An easy song to love and one that’s headed to the top. We can’t wait to hear more from Melody Maker! Check out “Adderall & Alcohol” and keep scrolling for our interview with this mesmerizing singer/songwriter, Melody Maker! Hey Melody Maker! Welcome to BuzzMusic! We absolutely loved your original song “Adderall & Alcohol” and the live performance. Have you recorded any of your original songs in a studio to date? If not do you have plans to? Hello BuzzMusic! Thank you, Adderall & Alcohol is one of my latest original tunes that I am pretty happy with. I have begun recording an EP that has a bit more of a pop/hip hop vibe. Adderall & Alcohol will definitely be one of the songs. I'm hoping to get that done and released by the Spring. We’re all about supporting talented independent artists like yourself! Are you completely self-taught on guitar and vocals? I actually come from a line of guitarists. My great-grandfather, grandfather, and father all played guitar. My dad taught me the basics of Spanish made an acoustic guitar, passed down through the generations in my family. After teaching me two chords, I wrote three songs. He saw the potential in me and took me to a bluegrass music store for more lessons. I studied classical and flamenco music for about a year to learn more advanced techniques. I also studied vocals under an opera instructor for a brief period of time to learn proper singing techniques. The music I play now is very different from that classical training, but it is in roots of how I play and sing. What can you tell us about the inspiration that went into creating your track “Adderall & Alcohol”? How did you know when it was truly finished? The inspiration for Adderall & Alcohol was heartbreak and moving on to new things. I wrote it a few days after a break-up with a partner of five years. I realized that I was not only in a relationship with my partner, but I was also in a relationship with the chemical substances that shifted and regulated our brains. We could not find a balance in that and the relationship became more toxic and addictive, but we couldn't let go. As my music career began to evolve, I found myself in a place of rapid expansion and change. I dove into it and everything in my life changed. I'll never be the same person my partner knew and this song is about the understanding and declaration of that. What predominant message was integrated within “Adderall & Alcohol” that you hope your listeners take away from it? That life is about change. It is okay to be different people throughout your life, to wear different faces and to have different experiences. Sometimes a small shift, in reality, can literally change everything about it and that is not a bad thing. Complete and total change is exciting and terrifying all at the same time and should be embraced when it comes your way. We’re so happy to have had the pleasure of chatting with you! What else are you working on artistically? What’s next for Melody Maker? I am so happy to be a part of the BuzzMusic community! I am currently working on playing as many shows as possible around San Diego County and Orange County and am booked up most weekends at local bars and restaurants. I have a folk duo called the Silk Button Butchers (a Shakespeare reference) with a mandolin player that is evolving into a full band complete with a fiddle player, a bassist and a drummer which should be a lot of fun to be a part of. I am also working on writing new music and recording it for release in this next year. I want to work my way up the California coast playing gigs and sharing my music with anyone who will listen! LA is my next destination for gigs. facebook.com/keepthemelody instagram.com/keepthemelody #BuzzMusic
- Pulsating With Energy And Grit, After 10 Releases Hot New Track 'Take The Pill (F**k Pharma)
Taking the influences from Marshall's pop upbringing and meshing them with John's Metal background the end result was a sound of its own. Pulsating with energy and grit, the band called After 10 is a group that formed in 2016 in Columbia, South Carolina. Their original work channels the punk rock dynamics of the likes of the Foo Fighters, blink-182, and Stone Temple Pilots. They take it even further with their heavy guitar riffs, rebellious lyrics, and aggressive tone. Their most recent release “Take The Pill (Fuck Pharma)” is a reflection of the current opioid epidemic sweeping the nation. They'd like to use their platform of releasing music to bring awareness to this growing issue. “Take The Pill (Fuck Pharma)” starts off as strongly as possible with a fresh and appealing leading guitar riff. The music has a classic yet creative alt-rock vibe, the instrumentation is always interesting, and the structure of the song means that there’s always something new just around the corner. The song features a great set of melodies, particularly the hook, you find yourself eagerly awaiting as the song sets off. The whole soundscape features a heavy punk-rock approach, reminiscent of alt-rock legends from yesteryear. There’s a distinct level of focus to the songwriting, and this speaks volumes for After 10. Not succumbing to any one genre or style, yet knowing exactly what they are all about, this track is a contagious introspective track from After 10 and we’re looking forward to hearing more. Check out “Take The Pill (Fuck Pharma)” here and keep scrolling to read more in our interview! Welcome to BuzzMusic After 10! We’re loving your new track “Take The Pill (F*ck Pharma)”! What was the overall concept you hope to capture with this release? What importance does this topic hold for you? I want to start off by saying this is an issue that I have dealt with personally, and it took me flushing pills down the toilet to pretty much drop the habit cold turkey. The sad part of it was that these were pills that were prescribed to me, and I started off taking the suggested amount, and naturally increased it. Luckily this was something that I caught onto early because I understood the dangers of these drugs. After telling people about the idea I had for this song, it was amazing to me how many people have had a similar experience. It's clear that these drugs are being pushed, and a statement needs to be made, a loud one at that. Unfortunately, I have had some close friends of mine head very far down the path of addiction, and eventually, lose their lives. So this song and this message is very dear to me. People all have things in life that may be restraining them, and I wanted the song to be one for anyone who feels like they're trapped. Your music always seems to light up the room and lift an audience up just when they need it! Was it your intention to have this kind of optimistic sound, or is it something that simply comes naturally for you? We wanted the sound to be very haunting, and sort of represent that depressed state that someone would be in when enduring an addiction, no matter what it is. How have you honed your songwriting style over time, and what do you think are the main qualities that make a song truly connect and last in the long-run? The songwriting process was something that we as a band definitely had to grow on. This was actually one of the last songs we recorded for the album, and I think it shows. It has a strong message that many people I feel can relate to, but at the same time, the song is simple. I think the qualities of a strong song are something that a lot of people can relate to, and having a moving message. You seem to be a band that puts more thought into their lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within your most recent single? Initially, when I wrote the song I had a lot more lyrics, but after playing through it a couple of times I changed it completely. Made it super simple, and to the point. I think the strongest moment of the song is the last lyric "I'm killing me". Essentially saying the fight has been lost. It's not the most motivating lyric, but I think it was perfect for the current epidemic. Thank you so much for talking with us about your new singles and creative process. Can you describe how your performances feel? Do you enjoy live shows, or do you prefer the actual songwriting process? Also, any live shows coming up in the near future? Our live performances are very energetic, but we do like to tone it down a little, and then bring the audience back, and that is exactly what we do with this one. It has a strong beat, but darkness to it that is super fun to play live. I don't think I could choose which I enjoy better. I will say the song-writing process can be a long one, and sometimes very frustrating, but if you want to put on a good live show you need some good songs. instagram.com/after10band #BuzzMusic

We’re really happy to be featuring your song “Beat That Part 2” (Trackin’ You). It’s very catchy, but also incorporates an integral message within. Can you explain to our readers the truth that is embedded within the track? Hey BuzzMusic Team! I am so very happy that you are featuring my song: "Beat That Part 2" (Trackin' You). It was my goal to create with DJ/Producer Gino Love a catchy dance floor shaker with a message that was easy to relate to. The truth that is embedded within the track is the fact that we are all under surveillance or being watched every day of our lives, whether it be indoors or outdoors. It's become the main feature in our everyday lives. I decided to narrow it down to love interests for easy digestion. When I first started throwing around ideas, the show "CHEATERS" popped into my thoughts and I said "AHA". It was just that simple! The music video is also extremely powerful and matches the sentiment behind the song perfectly. What was the filming process like? It was important for me to create a visually powerful experience to work in concert with the power of the track. I am currently living in New York City but I thought to myself that I could film something very special against the backdrop of the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District. There are so many colorful landscapes and murals everywhere. Also being outside in the elements amongst the people with the real environment was super complimentary. I had folks walking by, dancing on the sidewalks and catcalling. It was so much fun! The filming process was very exciting. I called my longtime friend and equally creative videographer Mr. Darin Sanone. We have been friends for many years since our days performing on the Academy Awards in Los Angeles. One day, I went out for a walk to scout locations and the locations seemed to find me hahaha. The next step was to call me good friends Ms. April L. Nixon who is an amazing Triple Threat Performer and Mr. Michael Koskelainen who is an aspiring Actor/Model. Everyone was down with the idea so I knew that I had a winner. The synergy was exhilarating! I actually captured all the footage in a one night shoot paying close attention to each individual's performance. They received my message and direction without pause. I shot each of them individually and my performance was the final shots. The entire shoot was completed in six hours which is unheard of and totally guerilla-style. What we have as a finished product was masterfully crafted in New York by my dear friend and master filmmaker/editor Mr. Blaze Mazur. Can we expect another collaboration between you and Gino Love? Yes, you definitely will see future collaborations between myself and Gino Love. You just know when it's right and from the beginning, his rhythms touched my soul and moved me to the core. I would be a fool not to continue this match made in "Dance Heaven". We have some hot dishes cooking that will be ready to be served in the near future! What are some of your ultimate goals as an artist? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? Hmmm, some of my ultimate goals are to nurture up and coming talents as a songwriter/producer, to bring back my radio show "The Ultimate Underground Experience" which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in January and to build a fully functional production facility and cabaret restaurant. I know that this is pretty ambitious but my parents dared me to dream big and have no fear when it comes to my talents and abilities. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! What else is going on for you artistically? Do you have any shows you’d like to mention? I feel totally honored and humbled by your gracious coverage of my new music and video. If you guys ever put on an event, I would love to be involved! Right now, I am in the process of writing new material and preparing to hit the studio to create some more dance floor gems, some pop songs, and some adult contemporary tunes. I believe variety is the key and the sky is the limit. As of now, I do have a couple of gigs coming up. The first is an Awards Benefit for the Anderson & Bert Cade Fulton Foundation in Brooklyn, New York at the Sugarhill Restaurant & Supper Club on November 9th from 2 pm to 6 pm. Also, I will be performing at the Newport Theater in Chicago, Illinois on December 1st at 7 pm for the X-POZING Music Awards for which I am also an award nominee. If anyone is in the area on those dates, please come out and show some love! If not, you best believe that "I'LL BE TRACKIN' YOU" hahahahahaha. instagram.com/earlhitzrecordstoo facebook.com/lacy.phillips.58 fafacebook.com/The-Uncle-Earl-175118672523043 twitter.com/theuncleearl linkedin.com/in/lacydarrylphillips #BuzzMusic

Oh, the music is so fantastic that even 10 sentences are not enough for me to write how I swing on its waves. This is the divine energy that delights me every second. I am the happiest person in the whole galaxy because I compose songs, and this is the most buzz that can be. A melody comes to me, then the next one comes, and I feel how it lifts me, well, like on the waves it’s a drug. I can’t stop and this is just crazy buzz. In childhood, we had vinyl records at home by Quincy Jones, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Ritchie Valens, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, Barry White, and all my childhood were influenced by this particular music. I was so crazy about music that when I was 10 years old; I went to learn to play the guitar. Then I became few and after 3 years I got a new passion for the piano))) well, and then this is a drug)) oh, yes! Great power. Then the music became a part of me and years passed, the styles changed but the music remained. I became so united with this energy that in my childhood I dreamed of being everywhere and immediately. And this feeling made me become everything — a music producer. Do you believe that the way you intend to communicate your messages through your music is easily received by your listeners? Each of us has dreams, desires, secrets. And when we are left face to face with our problems, happy moments, experiences, things that can caress us like not music. My message is that my life was tilted down to a certain point. I was confused about where I was going, what I was doing, what I needed — they lost me. And there are millions of people like me. Everyone comes with questions and looks with tears in his eyes into the sky to find the answers and then you get the answers. I heard them; I changed my life. “Just Keep Dreaming" was an incredibly versatile and beautiful track. Where did you draw the inspiration to create this particular type of sound? I realized that those dreams that possess us in childhood are real dreams. And we often choose the wrong path. We climb walls; we seek answers. But the answer is simple. We run from happiness; we don’t know what we want, what we dream about. I want to convey through my music the answers I found. I am sure there would be no wars if people were happy. I want to give divine energy to every listener and show there is happiness! How would you say that "Just Keep Dreaming" compares to the kind of music you curated when you first started out as an artist?! When I sat down at the guitar, the piano. I had a microphone turned on and the Logic program worked. I just began to play, and began to record the parts of the guitar, then followed by instrument after instrument. Then I remembered myself as a child. I remembered what I dreamed about. At that moment, tears flowed from my eyes. I was happier than ever. In a few minutes, I turned into a child again. I didn’t care about anything. I was happy!! So this song appeared. This is the very first song I wrote when I realized that I was the happiest person. I didn’t think what I was doing and for whom I was doing; I don’t even know anyone would hear this song. It was my salvation in the world from which I crawled out!!! I thank the music. Who is performing the vocals on “Just Keep Dreaming”? How did this collaboration come to fruition? I have one problem; I don’t know how to sing as many beautiful singers sing, but I hear a song in my head. Do you know when a song plays in your head with all the instruments at once? It looks like science fiction, it’s beautiful. And I use voice as a musical instrument. I don’t care who will sing. I’m looking for the vocals that play in my head. I can’t stop, this is the highest whim. I find a person and understand what exactly his voice is suitable for my song. The vocals for my songs are performed by different singers. We have information about non-disclosure, and so in my songs, the vocals are just an instrument of a large orchestra where I am a conductor. It was awesome to be able to present "Just Keep Dreaming" here on BuzzMusic! What do you think is next for you as an artist? Where do you hope to progress within the next couple of years?! I lost my mind, but I conceived an incredible and fantastic))) Imagine a fairy tale that becomes a reality? Do you believe in a fairy tale?))) I’m not in a hurry, but I know where God is leading me. Soon, I will finish the album, shoot videos and prepare my performance in which I want to tell and show what we call Euphoria!) leonwings.com twitter.com/theleonwings instagram.com/theleonwings facebook.com/Leon-Wings-119496739447460 #BuzzMusic
- Smells Like The 90s: “I Want To Know” By Prince Of Lilies
Do you miss the grungy 90s? Well, look no further. The band Prince Of Lilies has got you covered. Bringing you their freshest dose of grunge, punk, and garage rock all mixed into one, Prince Of Lilies' debut EP "The Year I Broke" is downright badass. The band has resurrected the spirit of the Seattle sound and their music is living proof. Focusing on the rawness of their instruments and four-chord bangers, Prince Of Lilies is made up of lead singer and guitarist Pyn Doll, bassist IQueen, and drummer Kyle Brian. Since it's clear that they're on the attack and they're ready to explode, we were so stoked to get the chance to check out their song "I Want To Know" from the EP. Recorded in Chicago by "Nirvana noise-guru" Steve Albini, "I Want To Know" gives the listener a mouthful of Prince Of Lilies' kick-ass attitude. Right off the bat, we're introduced to the track by Pyn's vocals, the tight beat, and creeping bass. The sounds are clean and mesh so well together as they emit that sweaty garage rock vibe. The way Pyn drops into the chorus with his screamed vocals is effortless. He easily belts out his lines in the grungiest manner. As the band descends into rebellion, we're surrounded by the gnarly noises of the guitar. The hard, slurring chords took us for a crazy ride and it only gets louder at the end. Seeing them live would be absolute madness and we're all for it. (Luckily for those of you in Los Angeles, Prince of Lilies will be having multiple shows at The Redwood Bar in November!) The band's dedication to punk rock is so earnest and they really deserve all the praise! Please check them out and support the grunge revival! Listen to "I Want To Know" here Hey, Prince Of Lilies! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Seeing as you all have been in the music scene as parts of other bands, how did Prince Of Lilies form? Our previous band was personally signed by Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead and we played 900 headlining shows in 25 countries in only 7 years, but we were in a rut and needed a big musical change. We formed PoL because we had new music that needed to be expressed, and it had to be louder than lust. We could have just kept our previous band going, but we wanted to strip down our sound to the bare basics and present ourselves just as we are. How did you decide on your sound as a band? When you record with Steve Albini who did albums by Nirvana, Pixies, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, you just have to be honest with yourself and the music you write. Steve captures bands only on analog tape and we recorded everything all live and in one take. No digital wizardry, effects, autotune, or ProTools. We recorded 28 songs in 2 days...and all 28 songs were mixed by him in another two days. That’s how records are made when bands are pure. It’s just harmonious reality. We love your new single! What was the creation process like for "I Want To Know"? Was it something that happened naturally or was it carefully pieced together? During our session with Albini, we wrote 4 songs on the spot. Inspiration can come out of nowhere, ya know? “I Want To Know” was written on the spot and it just “happened” at the moment. I went into the studio full of depression and I was really messed up, but when these songs unfolded, I released a lot of pent up anger and hidden emotions, and it healed me instantly. That track gave me the much-needed excitement I needed and a new outlook on life itself. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music? That even during the darkest hours of light, inspiration can come and open a new window for you to crawl out of and to start living again. Never give up or give in to anyone or anything: you have power and light inside you. Thank you so much, Prince Of Lilies! What can fans expect from you in the upcoming year? We’re looking for a label to release our full-length debut album and to start touring again. We want to rock and roll to go back to its roots and be real just like all the people out there. It’s been 30 years since Nirvana released “Bleach”, don’t you think it’s time to face the music, take off the mask, and be yourself again? Instagram.com/PrinceOfLiliesBand #BuzzMusic

Onyx Léon curates a melody and tune that brings about a certain kind of reflectiveness. Be sure to check out Onyx's "Deep Conversations" here and keep reading our interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Onyx Léon! It's great to be able to feature "Deep Conversations" to our readers! How did the songwriting aspect of this track come together? Was it an effortless collaborative journey, or did the track require meticulous timing to ensure its proper execution? Erick: Thank you! It’s a pleasure to be featured on BuzzMusic! Romain and I were listening to some tracks and the Deep Conversations track stood out to us. Originally, I had a concept for a song that detailed an infatuation of a made-up relationship. It started out like a poem on my phone that I’d written back in 2016. I presented the concept to Romain, and he liked it. We took what I already had and added an Onyx Léon spin to it. Romain wrote his verse and made some changes that really brought the song to life. "Deep Conversations" is definitely a more mellow and calm track off of your album "Pre-Game", compared to the other tracks. As a duo, do you prefer to curate tracks that have a more tranquil atmosphere, or do you prefer the more high-energy tracks? Romain: I don’t think we have a preference. We appreciate different rhythms and vibes. We approached “Deep Conversations” the same way we approached the other songs. Although “Deep Conversations” has a more mellow tone to it, I wanted to play with the tempo and the rhythmics. We never want our songs to be “boring”. For example, at the beginning of the song, it’s very slow during Erick’s verse. I wanted to make sure that, when I came in on the beat, I’d switch up the tempo. I also wanted to ensure this song was harmony-heavy [or heavier] compared to the rest of the songs on our EP. How do the performances feel in NYC?! Can you describe your stage presence, and the overall mood captured by the crowd while you both are on stage? Erick: We take our performances very seriously, for every performance we prefer to have had at least a month to prepare our set. Being well-rehearsed allows us to focus our energy on stage and guarantee a good performance for the crowd. Romain: We grew up admiring some of the biggest performers of today and it translates in the flow and professionalism of our live performances. During a 30 minute set, we’ll make sure to take the audience on a journey with the setlist, as we perform up-tempos such as ‘Fade’ or ‘Won’t Stop’, as well as softer tracks and ballads like ‘Distance’. We’d include a dance break or allow a moment to interact with the crowd. The fluidity of the show is really important to us. How would you compare your initial music, when Onyx Léon first came to fruition, to the music you both release now? Romain: We have been working on ‘Pre-Game’ for a while but it still feels fresh and like new music to us, even though a lot of these songs were created when we started working together. Our first-ever release before that was a single called ‘Tell Me’ (2018) which has a dope 2000’s R&B vibe and could very well fit with the rest of the EP. However, we believe the music we are currently recording definitely displays a huge amount of growth. ‘Pre-Game’ is just that: an introduction, a beautiful start to what we believe will be our best work so far! Erick: Definitely. Vocal growth is the main thing we’ve noticed in the songs we’re recording today. We see it in the way we compose and organize the songs, in the way we record these songs and stack the harmonies as well. It was amazing being able to feature "Deep Conversations" here on BuzzMusic! We know the R&B/Soul community will eat this track up, and it's clear to us that it's a contemporary offering of R&B! What's the next direction of Onyx Léon? Romain: Thank you guys so much! And really thank you for your questions, answering them has been such a pleasure. What’s next for us? We’re currently working hard, promoting “Pre-Game”, we really believe in this project and feel it deserves to be heard. To anyone who enjoyed “Deep Conversations”, we promise you’ll love the rest of the EP. Five songs, five bops! (Laughter). We’re planning on adding visuals to some of the songs as well! It’s all an exciting and creative process. Erick: We’re definitely focusing on building our brand as artists and growing our social media presence. We also really want to perform more and give "Pre-Game" the exposure we feel it deserves. Thank you BuzzMusic so much for reviewing our song ‘Deep Conversations’, we guarantee the rest of the EP will not disappoint! instagram.com/onyxleonmusic facebook.com/OnyxLeonMusic #BuzzMusic
