  • Introducing Adrian Javon With His New Single "My Way"

Hey there Adrian Javon! We're excited to be showcasing your latest track "My Way" here on BuzzMusic! Can you describe the emotional significance of the track, and how you were able to draw inspiration for the particular lyricism? The significance of My Way is pretty deep, to say the least. I wrote the song while I was sleeping in my car. I was going through a transitional point in my life, and instead of doing something I might've regretted. I put the beat on in my car and wrote it until it was finished. The inspiration came from being temporarily homeless. Your vocalism is dynamic and effortlessly smooth, which allows your sound to glide across our ears with ease. Did this aspect of your vocals come naturally to you, or did you find that you had to craft it over the years? I'm a smooth and chill individual and never really enjoy the extra antics. I like to sing in an easy flowing state that is easy on the ears for my listeners. I used to sing as a kid but I stopped because I was getting made fun of because I liked to sing lol... so I had to revisit it as an adult, now I can't stop. Still learning though! We definitely feel an impactful essence to "My Way". Was it difficult for you to pour your raw emotions into the track, or do you find it easy to communicate such honesty to listeners? I'd say it was definitely easy for me to poor my emotions into this track. I think its more freeing when I'm being vulnerable with my lyrics and true to who I am. Honesty is always impactful to me. We see that you're heavily affiliated with cinematography and photography! Do you believe these two additional skill sets on top of songwriting/recording will be pivotal to the creative story-telling asking of your music? Cinematography & Photography play a big part in my artistry. I started off in junior high/high school and it was the only way I knew how to express myself at the time. Now that I do music as well its a lot more fun to create my own visuals that compliment my music. I'm always doing shoots, short films, and creating new work for other artists. It was great to feature here on BuzzMusic Adrian! Listen "My Way" here and connect with Adrian Javon on Instagram! #BuzzMusic

  • A New Take: "Wasted (Acoustic)" By Attic Light

Attic Light is known for its electrifying live performances and high energy music. The band, based in Kansas City, consists of Nate Bowman (vocals, guitar, keyboard, synthesizer), Michael Pittman (guitar), Patrick Rippeto (bass), and Joseph Dillman (drums). Together as Attic Light, they bring an element of dance music into their rock songs and it has made quite the movement throughout Midwest USA. Having dropped two EPs and several singles, the band has now decided to switch gears with their newest release. Steering away from eccentric beats, Attic Light is sharing a more intimate side of their music with "Wasted (Acoustic)". The single is a new take on their song released earlier in 2019 titled "Wasted". With its classic Attic Light sound, "Wasted" used strings, percussion, and synths to create an emotional track about the desire to love someone. The acoustic version, however, finds itself focusing on the rawness of the guitar and the emotions in Nate's vocals. It’s quite the transformation. The tone remains, but a deeper connection is made. We feel Nate’s yearning love shine through and his guitar is the perfect companion. It’s definitely a more somber take on “Wasted” and shows versatility in Attic Lights musical talents. What sounds will the band do next? We’ll have to wait and see when their third EP is released! Listen to "Wasted" here Facebook Instagram Twitter Website

  • Futurist Completely Redefines Their Sound With Sophmore Album “Omens”

Futurist is an alt-rock, psychedelic pop band formed in Brooklyn and developed in Austin and Los Angeles. Through experimentation, a multimedia vision, and energetic delivery, Futurist creates a wall of sound that ignites audiences with their style and modern mythology. With appeal for both lovers of space-age and vintage, Futurist is influenced by legends like Flaming Lips, Pink Floyd, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, My Morning Jacket, and Spoon. The band is known for its associations with folklore and psychedelia, with elements of this culture inspiring the group's instrumentation, effects, and composition. Futurist’s new album “Omens” is out now and available on all major streaming platforms. Offering up over forty minutes of raw, at the moment rock composition, instrumental and experimental yet lost in the groove in a hypnotic manner, “Omens” is undoubtedly a thing of artistry and well worth a listen. The intro track “Slow Motion” takes it’s time to envelop you, showcasing a band in no rush to simply grab attention with a quick riff or a single idea, but rather, a band who are more than happy losing themselves in the moment and letting the music guide them. As a result, listeners can effectively and fully lose themselves in the moment too. As always, Futurist’s music showcases a touch of Pink Floyd inspired structuring and guitar work, the thickness of the beat in “Bad Air, Still Water” adds a fairly epic and dramatic rhythm, however mellow in pace. As the song progresses, there’s a unique and interesting soundscape that comes into play, almost electronic sounding on occasion, offering up just snippets of notes half tapped to exemplify the rising intensity. “Body Bag (Tied to a Stone)” adds an element of brightness in terms of the musical mood. The melody captivates as a few notes rise up and fall back down to layout the personal story-line. A hint of lightness follows later and helps build an interesting structure. “Olive Mountain” afterward leads with more entrancing riffs and quickly captures your affection for its fine balancing between the quick and the mellow. An easy favorite for the simple yet still huge hook section. The simplicity allows for creative freedoms with smooth guitar and punching vocals. The structure of “All I Ever Wanted” is a huge part of what makes it captivate you as you listen. The switch from the verse to the chorus alone hits with striking impact, and it’s a chorus that works. It drives that title, that concept, with emotion and a somewhat theatrical sort of power. The accompanying music, the developing instrumentation, and the varying melodies, all support and enhance the sentiment perfectly. The musical atmosphere of “It’ll Make Sense When You’re Older” allows you to escape, allows your mind to wander, to really consider these ideas and attempt to come to some sort of conclusion as to what it all means and how it relates to oneself. This is when music or lyricism, in particular, gets interesting, when it stems from personal experience, yet it reaches out and connects with various other pathways, various other individuals, who then form their own stories and thoughts within it. Eclecticism is definitely a part of this project, you get a feel for the progression, the voices, the style, the subject matter. The band has something that’s theirs, and it’s exciting, to say the least. “Crazy Eights” is a good example of a song that veers off in a different direction, laying out a mellow backdrop, balancing chaos and calmness, adding to the ambiance with distant vocal melodies. The beat and the riffs work beautifully when everything falls away the moment is perfectly fit for consumption as a go-to source of escapism. Futurist’s musicianship is also really well highlighted here, on top of their arrangement and production efforts. “Born on Fire” follows on beautifully and compliments the process even further. You grow more connected to the band and their work as the album moves along, particularly as things start to head back towards the fiery depths of creative psychedelics. A live-sounding scene that totally draws you into the center of the expression. “Harakiri” offers another fairly low-key, down-tempo moment of deep-thinking reflection. The vocal delivery appears quite haunting and considerate alongside the guitar sound, as does the sky of instrumentation lingering behind it all. The words hit with poetic realness and meaning. “Behold! (Lullaby for the End of Days)” has an indescribable yet familiar vibe to it that’s present from its opening notes all the way to the very end of this nearly six-minute-long track. To simply describe it as psychedelic doesn’t do Futurist justice, as they expertly mix genres and layer track upon track of intricate melodies to create a lush soundscape that engulfs the listener. There aren’t too many bands or artists creating in such a free manner these days, free from concern or time limits, unaffected by the outside. When you combine that level of purity with impressive musicianship and a shared desire to escape or create escapism for an audience, the results can be superb. Enter Futurist, a band truly intent on building that kind of sound and experience for their listeners. Listen to “Omens” here and read more with Futurist below! Welcome back to BuzzMusic Futurist! We're completely captivated by your sound--you have such a strong yet warming presence throughout your tracks. Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your recent album “Omens”? We’ve gone through a lot of changes since our first album, so my intention was to really solidify a new sound for the current band and our future trajectory and Omens was the product of that venture. Our first record was very innocent and optimistic and I think the realities and wisdom that have come from another decade of life have helped shape the sound of the record. We still have that lighthearted spark, but there is a darker undertone, tinged with some of the life lessons I’ve undergone on a personal level as well as the duality and division that I see out in the world more so today than ever. The ‘omens’ are neither good nor bad, but they are the underlying messages and symbols for what’s to come. “Slow Motion” is the perfect track to open up your recent album. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track? The opening line is “it’s a slow flow, like luck and gold.” Touching a bit more on what I said before, Slow Motion is a song about progress, success, and the sacrifice it takes to manifest the kind of dreams and ideas that I have at the core of my personal passions. I think I had this idea that recording, performing, and ’succeeding’ in music would be a whole lot easier than it is, which sort of speaks to the naiveté of our first record. Slow Motion is about all of the personal sacrifice and work that is built into the artistic process of actualizing something that hasn’t ever been before. What's the most integral element to your music that you find is always integrated into every track you create? Earnest songwriting and lyricism. I can't help but say how I really feel in my music and even though the style and genre of the music are constantly evolving, the one thing I can definitely see over and over again is ... what I said when I said it, I meant. Many of the tracks on the album are intensely lyrical. What track on your new project do you think forced you to channel to most emotions? Why? That’s a tough one to answer because they are all different emotions. However, I think that Crazy Eights is the most emotional one for me. It’s a song about being misunderstood, no matter how hard you tried to make the connection. That despair in knowing things are out of your control inspired a lot in me. It was also the first song I finished lyrically of the record, so it did set a tone, although not overtly. What's the next move for you artistically? Are you playing any shows in the near future to promote “Omens”? Yes! Stay tuned. You can visit our site www.futuristnow.net. We intend on having a lot of shows over 2020 and you are going to want to see and hear our new lineup and sound. And shhhhhh. We also have another album slated for the spring of 2021. www.futuristnow.net #BuzzMusic

  • #NowPlaying: 'Beautiful Scars' By Mira

Up and coming musician Mira has released her debut EP "Heal" and straight up, you need to give it a listen. The Lancaster, PA native is using her voice to touch on incredibly important issues facing society today, including self-love, cultural empowerment, and freedom. Singing since she was a child, Mira has learned how to use her musical abilities to help soothe souls and inspire hearts, and the five soulful, pop tracks in "Heal" are living proof of that. We'll be taking a closer look at the first track, "Beautiful Scars", to help you get a feel for the gem that is "Heal". Music is healing and in "Beautiful Scars", the lyrics are all about that. Mira's focus is on helping the victims of racial discrimination. The song is an anthem about taking pride in one’s own identity and seeing “scars” as signs of strength and beauty. She uses her soothing, twangy voice to cradle the listener as she sings about something so significant. Accompanied by a soft beat, acoustics, and delicate water sounds, the song moves in the tenderest of ways and it is incredibly beautiful. Mira’s ability to express her thoughts and feelings is positive and constructive, which is something truly needed in today’s world. “Beautiful Scars” shows strength and creates an important message that needs to be heard, so please check the song out and give the rest of Mira’s EP “Heal” a listen today! You can listen to the song here How did you decide on the name and theme of the EP? After a breakup, I had to find healthy ways to cope through my pain and writing was one of them. The more I wrote, the more I felt better and happier. that made me realize this was all apart of my healing process. There are multiple themes in this EP (self-love, identity, self-discovery, acceptance, self-esteem, god, trust)). they all tie into together and play a part in what I had to learn about myself in order to heal. The sound of a gentle stream was incorporated throughout “Beautiful Scars”. Can you tell us about the meaning behind this choice? The meaning behind the gentle steam as I thought it would be soothing to the listener. I really hoped that the water would be a silent trigger to calm down and listen. Water is also associated with emotion which what I used a lot to write these songs. I also wanted the listener to tap into there emotions to understand the meaning of the song and to help themselves heal Also I’m a water sign “pieces“ LOL. Your music hits on important subjects that aren’t always spoken about. Was it difficult for you to write the songs featured in “Heal” knowing a large audience would hear them? Yes. But it’s even harder looking at yourself and seeing the ugly, toxic, scarred parts of you that you have to face and change for the better. Transparency is always a risk, but the more I am transparent and honest with myself, the more I am truly loving who I am fully and completely. It’s ok to be who you are, scars and all. I wanted to be the role model to accept who you are. What does being a musician mean to you? To me, a musician means more than being musically talented. It’s using your talent to help someone else. What can fans expect from you in the near future artistically? More video content, and more music of course! instagram.com/mira_pearson #BuzzMusic

DemarcoTheMan seems genuinely lost in the moment throughout the recording, he carries the bar well and makes certain to hold your affection without screaming out for views or throwing in anything irrelevant just to add volume. There’s a mild intensity to his vocal style and delivery, suggesting that DemarcoTheMan means what he says. Worthy production meets with subtle creativity and a clear understanding of today’s hip hop landscape within “Carts for Chumps”. A truly impressive track from a bright up and coming artist! Give “Carts for Chumps” a listen here and read more with DemarcoTheMan in our exclusive interview below! Hey DemarcoTheMan! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What inspired you to first begin making music and releasing it to the public? When I was a child in the early 2000s before internet music and platforms such as Rap Genius; I would rewrite the lyrics to Lil Wayne's music to try to fully understand what he was rapping about. That was my first introduction to poetry and how to structure songs. Although I didn't know a single thing about recording music at 7 years old, I viewed music as a way of life rather than a business. I thought great poetry was recognized for just being great poetry. I didn't understand that music was a business until social media and platforms such as YouTube and Myspace began to develop. Because of the environment, I was raised in, I and the people around me only listened to street music; back when street music was true and stood for something in the late 90s and early 2000s. Most of my fans think that my music taste consists of California artists because of the style I carry. But in reality, I didn't grow up to the music during the skater era. Because of my father, I grew up mainly in southern rap that spoke about the pain and trauma that we experienced throughout the streets. The musical background I carried growing up influences the stories and reality I put in my music today. Carts for Chumps is a song that sways away from the pain I talk about in my music. But mostly everything I rap about and bring to life is real-life stories that I've experienced. I just tend to bring originality to the table and make these stories sound as creative as possible in hopes of representing who I am, and how I think. Being a musician was never a path I chose. It sort of just fell into my hands at 17 because of the life I've lived. At 18 in 2015, I released 2 mixtapes. At 19 in 2016, I released 3 mixtapes. At 20 in 2017, I released my first album. At 22 in 2019, I released 2 albums and launched an independent label. Music just happened to me. The more I live, the more piercing my music becomes. As a result, I've gained plenty of loyal fans and experiences throughout the last 5 years of making music for the public. You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “Carts for Chumps”? Poetry was my first love before making music. Lyrics are everything to me and many other people. The modern era of rap is all about sounding cool and harmonizing. Although more than most artists don't actually rap about real-life situations and or are too high to create great poetry; I use that to my advantage and try to make my lyrics as potent as possible. If you don't like lyrics and narratives, I'm am not the artist for you. My music is a book, not a tv show. Lyrics are what gives someone's music its own identity. The pen game has to be strong. If the pen game isn't strong, then a rapper will just be seen as another rapper rather than someone with their own way of forming their poetry. With Carts for Chumps, I focused on creating this world of funny but real lyrics. Including things I've done, seen, and emotions I felt. The song is very comical because life is too short to take it seriously sometimes. Carts for Chumps helped me build confidence as an artist and showcase my ability to match with the outside world. I don't prefer it though. I'm an insider; always have been and always will be. Since you’ve been making music for several years, how would you compare some of the earlier material you’ve written to your newest release “Carts for Chumps”? Compared to my earlier music, new releases such as Carts for Chumps showcase the progression and flowability I've gained throughout all these years of rapping. It also showcases the fun mentality I've gained through rapping. Overall, my earlier music needed growth and my new music puts a stamp on where I'm headed as an artist. We’ve also been bumping some other tracks from your album “Nice Weather for Carts”! Congratulations on that. What have been some of your proudest or most memorable moments in music so far? My proudest moment in music is going on tour in Las Vegas during 2016 with socks and sandals on and packing out shows. For a rookie, that's legendary sh*t if you ask me. It sounds pretty corny but it was fun. Another proud moment is launching my own independent label WeOccword Records. This independent label will not only change my life, but it will also path a new lane for Hip Hop. But that's another topic. We really appreciate you chatting with us about your incredible music! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? WeOccword Records. The future of hip hop. That's all I have to say. twitter.com/DemarcoTheMann instagram.com/demarcotheman facebook.com/DemarcoTheMan #BuzzMusic

His ambitious attitude and poetic lyricism set him apart in a big way and TeXFiles won’t sleep until he’s a household name. “Do What I Want” is a hip-hop smash from TeXFiles, fusing high energy, multi-layered beats, with a heavy bass-line and a quickly confident, easy-going subject matter and performance. It’s is an easy anthem for contemporary hip hop fans. TeXFiles and Fiyah MC drive with a simple lust for life including catchy hooks, laid-back concepts, professionalism, and style. This release is far from the exception and offers yet another track that further cements TeXFiles’ sound and approach as an artist. The lyrics are raw and TeXFiles truly lays out his journey and experiences. “Do What I Want” not only showcases TeXFiles’ skill as a rapper and lyricist, but he gives us high energy and a catchy delivery to each hook that will have any listener shouting along with him. That intensity and swagger drive things along in an appealing way, reminding you there’s a musical connection at the heart of TeXFiles’ work and his reasons for making pure bangers. Listen to “Do What I Want” here and read more with TeXFiles below! Congratulations on the success of your track “Do What I Want”. How did the overall creation process go for this song? The creation process for this song was pretty easy I heard the instrumental on a beat making website made by 16 year-old Canadian producer Wilson. I came up with the hook in about 30 mins sent it to my brother and he added a verse over a voice note so we knew the structure and subject of the song a day after I added mines then we went to the studio a week after and laid the vocals down. My thought process for this particular song was most of the music out there don't really have originality you can hear it in the mixing, a lot of artists choose to sound the same, I was thinking ill do something that's different that is original to whats happening in our current music state and I figured nothing is more original than someone doing what they want, not worrying about fitting in just believing in your skills doing your best and not worrying about other opinions. Hence the Title Do What I Want! Where do you find your inspiration to curate tracks with such originality? Growing up my mother in always embedded in my mind ''Never follow the crowd''! Is what she used to say. That stuck with me to this day, so I try to implement that term to every aspect in my life. Down to my music, shoes, the way I talk the way I conduct business, everything is based of originality and to ultimately do whats best for me and my family. I guess it helps to keep me on a direct path that is solely based off my decisions and not by other influences. What would you say is the most impactful takeaway message from your music? Do you feel like you're able to connect with your listeners on that deeper level? What I want all my listeners to get from my music is to be themselves, never fall to the pressures and forces that might clash with your core values. Stand tall bend but don't break!. I'm hoping that my listeners understand my music on a deeper level, because I do draw from certain aspects of life at certain times, but that's up to them, ''To Each Their Own''. Either way I try to cater to all my listeners, to the persons that digs deep and have a full understanding and also to the ones who might not want to dive in as deep but may just want to have a little fun and a good time. Music is for everyone so who am I to dictate how someone perceives or receive my message, has long as they take away something meaningful. Or Not LOL! How would you describe the music scene for your particular genre in your hometown? Do you believe that you can fully develop your sound in your current city? The music scene in my hometown Brampton is flourishing lots of new acts and talented artists but the business part is not where it needs to be but I know we are just in the early stages and eventually we will be on a even playing field. Certain talents like Roy Woods and Alessia Cara is definitely shedding a good light on our city. As for my genre that's a different story but like i said before theirs lots of talented people out here pushing and we are creating something new and exciting and hopefully in the near future the world will have more artists representing the hip-hop genre coming from my city. Thank you so much for talking with us! Is there anything exciting happening for you within the next few months?! Any upcoming shows you can share with the BuzzMusic community? I would like to say shouts out to BuzzMusic shouts out to my family and friends and remember you can do anything you want in life never give up never follow the crowd be original stay consistent and eventually you will get what you deserve. • Deku Is Back With A Smooth Brand New Single, “Purity”

Deku is an American singer/songwriter and record producer hailing from Los Angeles. As a songwriter, he has written for many artists all over the world, further expanding his musical ability. His background in production and engineering have provided him with a plethora of weapons to use in his artistry and beyond. His brand new single “Purity” is out now and available on all major streaming platforms! While from the outside there’s a contemporary RnB presentation to “Purity”, there’s more than a little about the song that paints Deku under an original and authentic light. For one, the lyrics walk the line between personal and poetic well. Also, there’s a quickly likable and genuine tone to the vocal delivery, you can hear the subtle passion, the heart, and connection to the words, and this contrasts cleverly with the implied concept of the title. There’s a whole lot of emotion here, and this is what “Purity” is. Every aspect works hard to portray the weight of the sentiments of the song. Deku’s honesty, and his colorful, contrastingly optimistic soundscape here juxtapose one another in a wonderful way. This is an engaging and catchy tune, but with an undertone of melancholy and misunderstanding. Listen to “Purity” by Deku here. #BuzzMusic

  • Getting To Know Upcoming NYC Hip-Hop Artist TheCasinoLife

Hey there TheCasinoLife! Welcome to BuzzMusic! “Game On” is a category transforming! Tell us how you came to produce this track! ‘Game On’ was inspired by my hunger for success. I saw an opportunity with the company UnitedMasters to create a song for the NBA 2K20 soundtrack & I thought why not? You know hip hop is a competitive sport just like basketball is & once I heard the beat, it just came to me. I wrote that song at like 3am & went to the studio the next day to record it. Your latest release “Thomas Sheppard Flow” is definitively lively, with such an eclectic, yet modern take on production. How did you intend to connect with your listeners with this particular track?! Honestly that record was intended to be the intro to my last project ‘For Better Or Worse’. I wanted to be as aggressive as possible with my punchlines but at the same time give the listeners something to make them think about their future & motivate them to excel at anything they choose to pursue in life. If anyone is familiar with the movie ‘Above The Rim’, they’ll know the name Thomas Sheppard was the name of the main character who ultimately overcame his own inner demons & reclaimed his place as a street-ball legend. You've had such a strong love and passion for music at such a young age! How do you think you and your music have grown since you first started writing, versus now? Experience is key. When I was younger I’d just write about what I heard every other rapper talking about. Half the time I didn’t even know what I was talking about but as I got older & began to mature I realize there’s power in being yourself. I tend to write from a place of pain & in all honesty, sometimes I wish I didn’t. But the beauty of it all is that you’ll never know who’s listening. I can say something that may help the next kid cope with their struggles or even inspire them to become a leader. Tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics within "As I Am”! No one is perfect but if someone is trying to make a change & the effort is visible, don’t judge that person for their background or their circumstance. Who knows what the future holds. Simply put, love me now & take me as I am or leave me be & witness my greatness from the sideline. What would you say is the most useful piece of criticism you’ve received thus far within your career? Do you typically take criticism to your advantage? Don’t hold back. Sometimes I get discouraged & feel like some things are too hard for me to speak on but in reality, it has become the most reliable source of therapy that I could find. I tend to bottle up my emotions so being able to vent publicly & be adorned for it is an amazing feeling. I’m always open to criticism. Sometimes I don’t understand it but at the end of the day opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. It was a treat being able to showcase some of your new music on BuzzMusic! We can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us as listeners! What’s the next goal for you artistically within the music world? I just want continue to strive for greatness. I’m a father now & more than anything in this world, I just want my daughter to grow up one day & realize that there’s no glass ceiling to her success. Sky’s the limit & though many people are doing what you’re doing or they may be into what you’re into, just remember they can never be you.
