  • #NowPlaying: Maurice Gray - “Grayce”

Maurice Gray is a producer and gifted songwriter raised by his single mother in Los Angeles California. He started down the wrong road at the age of 13, in and out of juvenile detention facilities up until age 19. That's when he found his outlet for the hurt and disappointment of his father not being in his life. Gray found music, poetry and the art of freestyling with his friends. After gaining confidence through experience, Maurice Gray eventually moved to Monroe, Louisiana in 2012. Gray says his mission is simple, to restore, rebuild and mend lost souls to Christ through music. “Grayce” Ft. Tracee Dawn is a contagious and uplifting old school hip-hop track. Fused perfectly with the sounds of today, and the good vibes required to see the summer through its final weeks, Maurice Gray has crafted a crisp, clean and smoothly melodic hit. “Grayce” will be the title track on Maurice’s upcoming third album. Utilizing the strength of a hypnotic soundscape and a light beat, Gray pours through lyrically with a series of short and simple rhymes, familiar references intertwined with personal reflections and statements of drive and confidence. Meanwhile, this rising and falling melody entrances in a quickly memorable way, making certain to hit with impact and ultimately leave the listener walking away with that tune running through their mind. Tracee Dawn’s vocals are pitch-perfect, her sound fits the overall theme of the track well. She effortlessly blends with Maurice Gray to deliver excellence from all angles. Listen to “Grayce” here and continue reading below for our interview with Maurice Gray! Hey Maurice Gray! What does the song “Grayce” represent for you? Grayce is an Acronym I Came Up With Using My Last Name. It Means God's. Revealing. All. Your. Creative. Energy. It Spoke Life To Me when I wrote it Down on Paper. God's Grace is Amazing and it Should Not Be Taken Lightly. I get Up Every Morning knowing i Get another Chance to Do What I Love and at the Same time Enjoy Doing It. We love your collaboration with Tracee Dawn, how did this come about? Trace Dawn is a Good Friend Of Mines. We Attend Church Where we Met 4 Year's Ago. I Heard Tracee Sing at One of the Youth Program's. Tracee is Very Talented and Shy All at the Same time. It has taken Me Every Bit of The past 3 Year's to Get Her On a Track With Me. That Day I heard Tracee Sing, I Knew She Had Something Special and that Is The Gift To Change Heart's Through Music. What’s the concept behind the music video? What was the filming process like for you? There Was Nothing Deep About The Concept of the Video. We Were Winging it The Entire Time Knowing That When We Come Into God's Presence and The Spirit is There, it Makes you want to Dance, Sing, Laugh and Sometimes Even Cry. So Basically the Entire Video Was Myself and The Director Jarrett Carter Brainstorming Idea's trying to make the Video  Fun for the Kids and Everyone Who Would Be Watching Over the Year's. The Adults Loved it As'well. The Result was AWESOME!!! What has been one of your most memorable or life changing achievements as an artist so far? Even though i Have Traveled To Numerous States and Opened Up For Some Big Names in the Industry. I Have Yet to Experience A Memorable Moment or Achievement as an Artist. I am Still Searching for it but when that time Comes for Me, the World Will Know About it (Smiles) What are your thoughts on mainstream hip hop at present, and your hopes for the genre going forward? Music has Changed Drastically and more so for the Worst. (Just My Opinion) Some Artist seem to be doing and saying the same thing Musically. it's all about who has the Most Money and how many House's and Car's you Drive  more so than Just Good Music with a Message. I Try Not to Listen to This Generation of Hip-Hop. Most of the time you Cant Even Understand What they Are Saying. Even in Christian Hip-Hop You can Get Lost in the Mumble Jumbo Rapper's Music. I Like Fresh Idea's, So I listen to Artist Like Jill Scott, Fantasia, Stevie Wonder and Coltrane. I Like a Mixture of Music Because You Never Know What your Going to Get in the End. I Like Creating Music That I can Feel and If i Can Feel It, So Can the Listener. www.twitter.com/MauriceGray www.instagram.com/Maurice112412 #BuzzMusic

  • Brightbill Captivates And Awes With Their Authentic “Chemistry”

Alternative rock band Brightbill formed in 2016 when lead singer and songwriter Cole Brightbill moved from Boston, MA to Philadelphia, PA. Cole was soon joined by saxophone and guitar player Craig VanRemoortel, as well as others to create and record their first project to be released in 2018. The band plays high energy live sets in venues around greater Philadelphia and the northeast. Brightbill is influenced by jam bands like Phish, The Grateful Dead, and The Dave Matthews Band, as well as modern alternative bands like The 1975, Young the Giant, and Kings of Leon. The latest release from Brightbill is an authentic and hard-hitting new track titled “Chemistry”. Balancing light riffs and the element of horns with certain organic layers, Brightbill creates full and warming soundscapes, but drive through among these with a notably mesmerizing vocal tone and a series of ideas that provoke equally deep levels of consideration. While there are moments of experimentation and purity within “Chemistry”, the fuller soundscapes are where the more anthem-like and energizing effect lies. Brightbill paves its own way creatively, giving the band an alternative and optimistic edge that’s refreshingly freeing right now. Listen to “Chemistry” from their latest EP "Messages From Letters Left Unsent" here and read more with Brightbill below! Hey Brightbill Congrats on the release of your new single “Chemistry”! What does this song represent for you? Thank you! Huge thank you to Buzz Music for featuring us, it really means a whole lot! Chemistry represents a time of self reflection, referring to “the Chemistry between you and I” not between two people, but between two sides of yourself. When you have a dark side, you feed off of it, and even if it is ultimately an unhealthy part of your life, you love it and rely on it a little bit. Chemistry is about wanting to —and not wanting to— let go of those chains that bound you together. Where is the best setting to listen to “Chemistry”, and what do you hope people take away from it? For listening, Chemistry is available for listening on every major streaming service, and the music video is on our YouTube channel, Official Brightbill, but physically, you should listen to Chemistry anywhere you can sing along to it! It’s a rich emotional song, but it’s also energetic and catchy! We hope everyone catches the duality of the song in that way, as well as lyrically. What are your thoughts on mainstream rock today? Mainstream rock is really evolving, and broadening. It’s not dead, it’s just different. What it means to be rock and roll is changing, and today we see more things as rock than we ever did before. Now, almost any band with guitars could be If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? Of the songs that have already been released, Chemistry is definitely the most “us” song. The two sided lyrics, the horns, the sax solo, and the hook are a really important part of our sound. There’s a song that we are currently in the process of recording that everyone in the band is freaking out about, and can’t wait to get to you, which is probably the most “us” ever, but we’ll get there when we get there ;) What are your main aspirations as a band going forward? This is something we’ve been talking a lot about recently. We really believe in this music, and want to take it all the way. We want to ride these songs to a place when people can hear our voice, and then use it for positive change in the world. Once we have the resources, we’d like to maybe join forces with, or start our own charity or organization to help clean up the oceans, or stop pollution. Cleaning up our planet is of paramount importance, to us and everyone. Just making noise until you’re famous is great, but it’s what you do with that fame that counts, and that’s where we’d fit in. Once you give an initial listen to LIVENOAH, you'll know he isn't an artist to be missed out on. His rhythm and tune are completely in check, and we're really resonating with some of the blatant messages behind LIVENOAH's music! As an artist who knows how to integrate soft, hard, alluring, yet personal elements to a song, LIVENOAH will never be questioned on his passion and willingness to elevate music with his stylings. LIVENOAH has recently released "When All Your Friends Are Bartenders" and we're seriously digging the soulful vibe that's heavily integrated within the song. LIVENOAH captures the very essence of acoustically driven ballads, and it's what made the song completely stand out to us. "When All Your Friends Are Bartenders" has such a genuine tone to it, and embodies the story of an individual that's truly struggling with themselves. It's a mellow track for sure, but the fast-paced hook is what will get your heart going in "When All Your Friends Are Bartenders". We all know that LIVENOAH is definitely honest and raw with his tracks, and "When All Your Friends Are Bartenders" is no different. LIVENOAH is able to successfully execute the track by adding in a variety of musical elements to amplify the overall sound. We're finding ourselves getting caught up in the emotions the track projects onto its listeners, and we know this won't be the last time we give LIVENOAH a listen! Discover LIVENOAH's latest track here, and continue reading for their exclusive interview! Hey LIVENOAH! Great to be presenting your latest track here on BuzzMusic! What was the production of "When All Your Friends Are Bartenders" like? Recording "When All Your Friends Are Bartenders" was a wild ride. Its the first song I ever professionally recorded so I came into the studio space as a puppy.  The song is a fast paced, jammy type of drinking song but there were some not so light moments in the studio. I came in with "first day of school" energy and excitement and thought i fully understood and communicated my role in the production process but I quickly realized my producer and I were on different pages. While I was having a blast he was getting frustrated and finally I had to call a timeout and invite him over for a beer and a conversation to figure out why it wasn't working. It was simple. He thought I hired him to fly the plane and I thought I was flying the plane. And once we realized the issue he, generously, let me have the drivers seat while staying close behind and being an incredible GPS.  The song has so much more on it than when I wrote it on my couch with my acoustic guitar and its a testament to working through a tough moment with my producer and both sharing the vision of what the song could be: a sweet summer jam. What was the integral message integrated within "When All Your Friends Are Bartenders" that you wanted listeners to really feel? I want listeners to first feel joy. The song moves.  It never slows down and only builds and builds and builds and its meant to be played loud with the windows down or hanging out with friends with a beer or hopefully from the jukebox in your hometown bar.  On your second or third listen I want the listener to pick up on the dichotomy of the lyrics.  Maybe the singer actually has a complicated relationship with the bar.  Maybe he's lonely in his small town.  Maybe he's looking for company in the wrong places. And finally...maybe he's not alone...maybe I can relate. What's your fanbase like in New York? How do you find the overall music scene where you primarily reside in New York?! The fan base here in Upstate NY is second to none. This city is essentially split between those that want singalong cover songs and those that are seeking out the local talent that are pouring their souls out on stage. I wouldn't want to be playing anywhere else at this stage in the game. How would you describe the emotions you want your listeners to feel when listening to your music? Mostly, for this single, I want my listeners to feel light and free and joyous. Its' a jam. They should have a drink close by and some friends to twirl around like the music video. I also want them to feel connected. While the music is relentlessly upbeat, the lyrics are a bit more complex. If any of my listeners feel loneliness in their lives I hope they leave this song feeling a drop more hopeful that we're all in this together. Are you planning on releasing any new singles in the near future?! YES! I am currently in the studio working on the full EP. I'm gonna let this song ride for a couple months and can confidently say the next single will be out in the next 3 months. STAY TUNED! Follow up with LIVENOAH and his music via his socials below! • Onen The Artist Proves His Dominance And Versatility With “No Chorus”

Onen The Artist is a talented rapper and lyricist coming to us from Toronto, Canada. He brings a versatile flow that he can switch up to fit the mood of any track. His ultimate goal is to make relatable tracks for his listeners and fans. He has the ambition and drive to make it big in the music industry. His latest track titled “No Chorus” brings through a clear love for life and hip hop in general. It’s is an easy anthem for the next few months, loaded with good vibes, quirky rhymes, and a consistently rhythmic flow that works well on top of the natural bounce of the beat. Everything from the production to the vocal flow for this release is of impressive quality. The backdrop brings together a fairly classic hip hop style with a slightly more energizing vibe. There’s a smoothness to it all, and Onen The Artist’s voice alongside this works perfectly. “No Chorus” is a fresh track that tips its hat to the sound of today and that of a simpler time, working well to further introduce Onen The Artist’s style and sound. Check out “No Chorus” here and read more with Onen The Artist below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! “No Chorus” has many layers and different concepts. What’s the overall theme you were trying to achieve with this record? In my track, I was aiming to mainly show my wordplay, I feel like the first and third verses in “No Chorus” do a pretty solid job in displaying that I can be crafty with my lyrics. What do you hope your listeners take away from “No Chorus”? I hope that my listeners will consider this song a “banger” in the end. Whether it’s with the lyrics or the beat, I want them to be able to turn up to it at any given moment. What sets you apart from other hip-hop artists in today’s music scene? Right now, I’d like to say that my motives do. I wanna get big and famous, but not to pay the bills, drip myself down and ice myself out... I mean like I obviously will do those, it’s the culture and life I wanna live. But, in reality, I’m doing it so I can have fans. Having my own fan base sounds amazing as well as performing in front of the sold-out arenas. Ever since I was little it has been a dream of mine. Also, I put a lot of work into my writing of a song. For example, in my future songs, I plan on trying to be more story-based to prove that I can get my theme and ideas across well. I also plan on displaying my vocal range more and the speeds of which I can truly rap. We love the heavy beat in “No Chorus”, who produces your tracks? All credits must go to one of my producers, he goes by Tron. He exclusively produced the two tracks I have out right now, everything deeply layered within those tracks are to my demands which I appreciate heavily. I’ve got a couple of songs coming out soon who will be produced by another amazing engineer I’ve been in contact with, he goes by Baby Got Beatz. So watch out for those as well. If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? In all honesty, I’m still trying to find myself as an artist. That’s why my next few tracks are gonna be different from one another. I’ll be going hard and rapping fast in one, then being in my feels on another. I think what will help me influence my style is whichever songs get the most streams, in the end, it’s ultimately up to what the people who are invested in me want to hear. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll always stay true to myself and make the music I wanna make. Whether that’s me singing or snapping hard, I’ll do what I want. But, I also want my fan base to have those songs that they’ll consider popular or a classic someday and that’ll be a go-to track for them to play in the car. • Kendra & the Bunnies Is Back With A New Release!

Welcome back to BuzzMusic Kendra! What can you tell us about your highly anticipated EP “of Always”? What does this project represent for you? Thanks so much for inviting me to interview with BuzzMusic again! It’s a delight to be back. My highly anticipated EP is titled, “of Always” by Kendra & the Bunnies. It’s an acoustic and subject driven poetic piece. It has heavy notes of folklore spanning from the Americana West to the Celtic Highlands. The EP is an ambling walk down the line of romance via muse. My thoughts prevail through suggested vocal variation and center around the foundation of dedicated and dreamy relations. It represents the determination I have for music. Streaming on all platforms Friday, 9/6. It wasn’t long since we’ve last featured your music! How do you stay on track to create relevant content so consistently? Thank you. This relevance arrives through the personal lens of interpretation. Writing is my go-to source of being and breathing. I become an extension of my poetry and the words being read whilst writing it. To answer your question fully, I keep my eyes open for observation. Inspiration is kind to me. Additionally, I am always actively listening and learning something. Right now, I am reading “Hell’s Angels: a Strange and Terrible Saga” by Hunter S. Thompson, studying improvisational acting at Groundlings Theatre LA, and meditating with the recommended, “A Course in Miracles”. Can we expect any collaborations on your EP “of Always”? Who is an artist you would love to collaborate with? I’d say the “of Always” EP is a collaboration of spoken word and musical persuasion. It’s just me driving this album. I did, however, recently collaborate with a good friend who is a sound-engineer and producer. He turned my track “Sucré Mon Cherí” into an upbeat festival mix. His name is Chandler billed under the name ‘cnotebythelayer’. The work he did remixing that track is so upbeat and full of joy. Honestly, I can really see it spinning at a late night music festival set, getting every dancer to grin ear-to-bunny-ear. “Sucré Mon Cherí Festival Mix” is currently streaming on all music platforms. In the future, I would love to collaborate with Melvin Seals, the dynamite pianist of JGB. His playing is electric. Maybe I will muster up the courage to give him a call. Thanks for reminding me. Where is the best setting to listen to your songs, and what do you hope people take away from them? Let’s name a few. I can see you listening to Kendra & the Bunnies in your old school ’92 Chevy truck with the windows cranked down. You are on a country road and the sun is about two hours from setting. Scenario 2, you are taking an introspective walk outdoors with headphones of your own choice. Scenario three, you’ve just lit some candles in your apartment. The night is all about painting that design you’ve been thinking about on the blank canvas that is, in-turn, observing you. The “of Always” EP is definitely hallmarked with depth and easy-listening. I hope the listener meets me at a place of understanding. This release is a delicate balance between a lament of deep sadness that is the heartbreak of life, adjacent to the beauty there is in living and loving that which we live. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? I am grateful to have a platform to positively influence listeners. My message is strong. It is of peace, patience, respect, action, and comforting the vulnerable. I am grateful to expand into all facets of my creative self. I have big aspirations tied to present goals. One goal at a time. One day at a time. I look forward to performing more venues and music festivals, growing my fan outreach, and starting conversations about healing and the transcendence of now. What other projects are you working on through the end of 2019? My second book of poetry titled, “Project Non-Arch: Operation Clown School” is being published on Friday, 9/13. It will be available on Amazon Books. Signed copies are available via my website, www.kendraelisabethmuecke.com — “Project Non-Arch” is a long form prose poem that describes my vantage point throughout the transition of control to surrendered presence. When one surrenders to the reality at hand, it eases into something malleable. This poem is my part-by-part peeling back of the curtain to unveil who I am below preconceived constructions. Be sure to give a listen to Kendra & the Bunnies' latest single here, and connect more with the artist via her social media: Facebook Instagram #BuzzMusic

  • Billy Badnewz Just Needs To Know, “Is It Real?”

Billy Badnewz, also known as Wanted Villain, is an American rapper, songwriter, and music producer from New Jersey. Billy Badnewz started rapping at 11 years old, after watching his older brother and his friends recording themselves rapping in his mother’s kitchen in Blackwood, New Jersey. Influenced by several notable artists such as Meek Mill, Jay-Z, Tupac, Curren$y, and Rick Ross, Billy has owned his record label since 2009. His latest singles, “Ride Or Die”, “Purpose” and “M.O.” are examples of Billy Badnewz’ songwriting ability. The lyrics and Billy Badnewz’s performance throughout “Is It Real?” introduce him as driving with a desire to receive loyalty. The very title concept of the track is a fitting representation of this. The accompanying video suits the idea further, meeting the needs of the moment and continuing with the theme of this hard-hitting track. “Is It Real?” has a strong beat, those riffs offer up a slightly nostalgic vibe while the synths chosen have a mildly retro style about them, though the vocal rhythm and the references within undoubtedly tip their hats to the hip hop sound of today. There’s a melodic backbone to the track that helps make it a little more widely accessible, still, that rap confidence drives though. It’s a simple release with a good bounce to it. We’re looking forward to hearing more from Billy Badnewz! Check out “Is It Real?” here and read more below in our exclusive interview with the artist! Hey Billy Badnewz! Tell us all about your track “Is It Real?”! What inspired it? Is It Real? is the first track on my EP release entitled Do You Love Me?. I produced the beat and wrote the lyrics to this track in about 20 minutes. That is to say that this song came to me naturally like a conversation. It's about real love and I think everybody wants that. Throughout the song, I ask questions that measure the intensity and realness of a woman's love for me. A lot of people just throw the word "love" around like its a greeting. Our world is moving fast and so are our relationships. And sometimes when "love" is expressed physically or verbally, we don't stop to ask how far does this love go? Is it real love? Unconditional? Reciprocal? This song and the questions I ask about how real is your love has inspirations from my own life and relationship experiences. I asked, "Would you stick with me If I stayed on the block? Would you still love me If was on lock?" Because I have been in relationships were the woman said she loved me but if I made a couple bad decisions or if I hit a few obstacles in my life, her "love" for me would change. I don't want to go into much details but you can see how real a person's love is for you when you go through hard times. In "Is it Real?", I ask those questions about hard times or difficult situations like having trust in a relationship when I am touring. What’s the concept behind the music video? What was the filming process like for you? The concept was simple. I wanted the "Is It Real?" video to be personal. Just me asking these questions about real love with the viewer. I found a scenic lot by the bay water less than two minutes away from Atlantic City, New Jersey, where I reside. I contacted my director Vis3on, who shot my last two videos, Let's Ride and Time, and we got to work. He knows how to get some good shots and we get into grooves with the work flow, so I like working with him. What future collaborations can we expect from you? I've been doing a lot of solo work lately, working on my craft. I like a lot of artists in the industry right now and I can't wait to collab with some of them. In the near future, you will hear me work with a lot of new artists that are carving their own slice in this industry that you might not have heard of yet. But, the world is going to get real acquainted with us. Some of them are in my own camp, some from New Jersey - Philly - New York areas, and a couple artists internationally. Today, it is no reason not to connect with people from all over. Everybody is literally on social media. You just got to be open to collaboration. I am open to it. So if there is an artist looking to collaborate with me, just hit me up! What do you think sets you apart from mainstream music today? I think I am aligned with mainstream music but what is going to set me apart from everyone else is my unpredictability and vision. I do not just consider myself a rapper, I am a songwriter. I do not put my creativity in a box, so you will not hear the same thing from me all the time. I might drop a song about love, but then I might drop a song about how much I hate you. I might talk political but then I might be a villain and say fuck all that shit. What do you hope to achieve through the remainder of 2019? I hope to land a song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2019 - 2020 and get my latest single, Purpose, in a movie and a commercial. Also, I plan to drop three more singles before the end of 2019. And the rest of the music I am working on will go to a new project I will be releasing in 2020. Just stay tune on my socials for the whole experience. • Exclusive Interview With Comb The Desert!

Comb The Desert! We're excited to be featuring your musical offerings on BuzzMusic! To get started, can you explain to our readers what Comb The Desert is all about? Thank you BuzzMusic for showcasing our new material. Simply put, we are 4 best friends from New Jersey playing music we loved when we were younger and still enjoy today. We loosely label ourselves a punk band with alternative metal and hardcore elements. "Mudflood" is one of the first tracks we listened to by you guys. It's hard-hitting in all the right ways, and really speaks to the essence of Punk music culture. If listeners could only listen to one song by the band, would "Mudflood" be the song? Our advice to our listeners is to listen. Listen to everything to get the big picture. Then find the one song that speaks to you. If it’s ‘Mudflood’ then awesome. If it’s ‘Walken Shoes’ from our first EP.. respect!’ Venturing on to other tracks by the band, we came across "God Is A Woman". Where did your inspiration stem from for this particular track? The song "God Is A Woman" symbolically relates to the world we all live in. God (really, the earth) is a Woman. When we treat her badly, she reacts; not so kindly as we all know. "Essential Spoils" was electrifying in every way possible! How did your initial vision for this track unravel as a group? Well we wanted to try writing a more groove driven track like we did for the "Humannoyed" EP. Something more up-beat that can get our listeners engaged then extend that to our live set. Tell us how the atmosphere of your performances are?! Is the crowd surged with the energy presented in your tracks? That angsty and party-esque vibe we deliver ultimately depends on the crowd in front of us. We perform at lots of different venues. Some are really big rooms and some are small DIY spaces. We find that the closer we are to our audience the crazier and more intense it can get. Can listeners expect to hear about any upcoming singles or shows in the near future? Comb The Desert plans on playing 1 to 2 shows per month for the rest of this year. We certainly have some bangers coming up with some great bands so if you are looking for a good time, definitely look out on our facebook page for those events.
