  • Natalie Kroh Says You’re On “Thin Ice” In Her Hot New Single

At the young age of 19 years old, the gifted Natalie Kroh has established her craft and unique sound. Hailing from Los Angeles, Natalie currently attends Berklee College of Music in Boston.  She puts pen to paper and gives the listeners a genuine look inside her life. Leaning towards elements of old school R&B, hip-hop and pop, Natalie fuses these genres with a trap vibe and creates explosive singles. Natalie’s latest release titled “Thin Ice” is proof of her expert ability to fuse genres. Reminiscent of the smooth R&B sounds of the late 90’s and early 00’s, Natalie mixes in her own flare of hip-hop/trap to keep the track modern and alluring. Natalie’s polished vocals will blow you away. Her tone and singing ability is finely-calibrated beyond her years. “Thin Ice” is a track about Natalie experiences in love and life that anyone can relate to. Connecting with her listeners comes easy to Natalie with her emotive lyricism and effortless delivery. Raw authenticity and powerful energy is just a few of the things that have me addicted to “Thin Ice”. Natalie Kroh is an up and coming artist on her way to the top! We can’t wait to see what she delivers next. Check out “Thin Ice” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hi Natalie! Tell us more about your upbringing into music and how you got started? Hi! Well, I’ve always been singing, ever since I was a little girl. I just happened to be lucky enough that my parents saw it was a passion and supported it for all these years. I was exposed to a lot of different music growing up (rock & roll from my dad, ‘80s and ‘90s pop/R&B from my mom, and a bunch of current alternative/indie artists from my big brother). I discovered that my passion lay in pop/R&B, especially contemporary R&B. But when I got really serious about pursuing a career as an artist, I was hooked up with a producer in LA through a mutual connection and I also decided to go to Berklee College of Music in Boston. And that’s where I ended up meeting Tomi Balogh, who produced “Thin Ice”! Can you tell us about your experience at Berklee College of Music? How does going to Berklee help you grow as a rising artist? Going to Berklee is one of the best opportunities I’ve ever gotten, and it’s invaluable to my journey of growing as an artist. I’m getting the college experience, which is always fun and exciting, while also doing my passion every day and being surrounded by other like-minded people. Berklee offers lots of classes that teach you how to manage many of the different aspects of the music industry, such as songwriting, production, marketing, music business, booking gigs, and more. And Berklee is so well-connected in the industry that they provide a bunch of unique opportunities for their students. But most importantly, the people you meet at Berklee, whether they’re students or faculty or alumni, are the real gems of Berklee. The alumni network is stellar, and most of what I’ve learned about artist development and creating music has been from talking to, jamming with, and collaborating with fellow students or faculty. There’s really nothing quite like going to music school, let alone Berklee. What are some challenges you’ve faced as an up-and-coming artist? How have you overcome them? I think the hardest thing is gaining traction. Nobody knows who I am except for friends and family, and no one is out there looking for “Natalie Kroh”. I have to put in the effort to make sure that people hear my music and my name, and that they get a hold of my social media handles. Of course, the most important part is having good music to start with. Music is obviously subjective, but knowing who your target audience is is really important in making sure your music is heard. Another way that I’m trying to get my name out there is just by performing live at open mics or gigs. At the moment, my priority is spreading my name and finding the people who my music reaches out to the most. Can you tell us more about the meaning behind the lyrics in “Thin Ice”? What inspired this track? So, I met my awesome producer Tomi Balogh while at Berklee, and we decided to collaborate. He sent me a (demo) beat for “Thin Ice” and I absolutely loved it, and got to work on writing the melody and lyrics. Regarding the lyrics, anyone who knows me well enough knows that I’m sassy as hell, but also very honest and straightforward. The lyrics are about a situation that I found myself in at the beginning of the school year – long story short, I was friends, and only friends, with this guy at the beginning of my freshman year at Berklee, and I was always hanging out with him because he was the closest friend I had in my new school. All these girls liked him but were jealous that he was hanging out with me all the time; so, they would be nice to me to my face, but would talk s*** about me behind my back. And when I heard Tomi’s dark R&B beat, I knew I had to pop off a bit. I had to let those girls know that they were walking on thin ice by being shady. What’s next for you Natalie Kroh?! At the moment, I’m working on some more original music! Mainly originals in the works, and a few collaborations too. I’m so incredibly excited because I’m working with such amazingly talented producers and musicians, and I can’t wait to finish these songs and have them released! I’m also going to start putting out more content in general on my social media pages and YouTube, such as covers and promo stuff for the new music. I’m not trying to be annoying but I swear, the new music that’s coming out is too good. Just too good. Follow Natalie Kroh and her talented producer Tomi Balogh on social media! Invigorating and rich horns flow freely throughout “Make Me Wait”, giving it just enough groove to have us toe-tapping along. Danny Fitch expertly recites poetry through his spectacular vocal register. With hints of acoustic-folk, this genre-bending single is surely on its way to the top! “Make Me Wait” is a quirky, sultry and overall easy listening anthem. It’s a song made for sunsets and long drives with the one you love. Sing and groove along to the smooth hypnotizing sounds of Danny’s vocals. Equipped with artistry beyond his years, Danny Fitch is the one to lookout for! We can’t wait to see what he delivers next. Check out “Make Me Wait” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hi Danny! Welcome to BuzzMusic. Can you start by telling telling our readers more about yourself and how you got started in making music? First and foremost, I am a singer. Growing up, I sang around the house, in the shower and in every choir and chorus my schools had to offer. In college, I sang in my acapella group, The University of Rochester Yellowjackets, and even made it onto The Sing-Off Season 3 singing solos in front of millions of people. After our 15 mins of fame was up, I realized that being ‘just a singer’ was never going to cut it for me, so I picked up the guitar, taught myself how to play, moved to LA, buckled down, and transitioned from a singer to a musician. Who influenced you musically growing up? How has that helped shaped the artist you are today? There was always music playing in my house growing up. My mom would play her beloved soul/ Motown records and my dad would play his favorite acoustic folk records. The music in my house was constantly shifting day-to-day, minute-to-minute, from The Temptations to Cat Stevens, from Marvin Gaye to James Taylor, from The Supremes to Simon and Garfunkel. I hear these influences shift day-to-day in my own writing as I go from writing horn parts for a new soulful track one day to solidifying finger-stylings for an acoustic ballad the next. Tell us about your track “Make Me Wait”! What inspired it? My debut single, "Make Me Wait" infuses a retro-soul vibe into the traditional singer-songwriter genre by rooting the chordal structure in major and minor 7th’s and accenting the melody line with rich 3-part horn counter melodies. This song came to me after I met someone who, for the first time in a long time, truly surprised me. She was different and confident and weird and goofy, I was absolutely IN. Now, having learned from past experiences that the quicker you burn, the quicker you burn out, I didn’t want to mess this one up so I pushed the slow game, hard. Did it ‘work out’ in the end? Listen to the full EP and find out... When can we expect your EP “Future Self” to be released? “Future Self” will be available to stream/ download everywhere on Friday, July 19th. With more music videos and singles planned on being released shortly afterwards. What can listeners expect from this EP? As my debut project, I wanted to give my audience the full range of my unique brand of soul/ motown roots mixed with acoustic-folk influences aka mom and dad. Some tracks groove with electric guitar and luscious horns, others emote with acoustic ballads and caressing strings, yet all of the tracks have a signature sound that binds them. I hope you all find something to connect to in my music and can’t wait to see you/ meet you at upcoming shows around Los Angeles and beyond. Stay connected with Danny Fitch! • THEDEADWOODS Make Their Extraordinary Debut With “Harder To Love”

American LowFi/Garage Rock duo THEDEADWOODS hailing in Chicago brings emotive lyricism, powerful riffs and high energy performances to the modern music scene. No stranger to success, THEDEADWOODS toured many miles and performed over 180 shows. After a complicated and drug fueled split in 2016, THEDEADWOODS have revamped, recuperated, and relaunched their authentic sound. THEDEADWOODS debut hit “Harder To Love” with have you head-banging and screaming your heart out alongside the absolute powerhouse vocals. Heavy from the start and catchy throughout, “Harder To Love” boasts an ironic confidence. The lyric “...it didn’t matter before, but now I’m not sure, I’m getting Harder To Love” exudes an uncertainty but is presented with so much resilience and power it’s hard to believe “Harder To Love” is about heartbreak. An underdog anthem, “Harder To Love” has all the elements of a timeless rock ballad. THEDEADWOODS connect with their listeners by empathizing on day to day struggles. They see the light at the end of the tunnel and put an upbeat twist on a melancholic topic. Stay on the lookout for THEDEADWOODS, this is only their debut, there’s a lot more where that came from! Check out “Harder To Love” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Can you guys start by introducing yourselves? Are you the original members of THEDEADWOODS? We are THEDEADWOODS from Chicago IL. The band has been together for quite some time, and has a history of many different members over the course of 8 years. Austin Getz and Mark Wendell are original members and currently the bands final lineup, using other close friends and familiar musicians as fill in members for certain shows to add to the experience. How did you come up with your stage name? We had a barbecue/bonfire back in Chicago in 2010 with our ex-bassist Sean, and somehow ended up with all of us deciding to take acid. Mark and Sean started chopping wood with this super wild looking axe in Marks backyard, and couldn’t help but stare off into the texture of the wood. Sean looked at Mark and said “woah man, that is some dead wood man”. And immediately felt attached to that moment, hence calling ourselves, THEDEADWOODS. What’s “Harder To Love” about? What inspired it? “Harder To Love” was a song that started after Mark Wendell and Austin Getz decided it was the right time to start working on new material, and start performing again. We teamed up with producers Abel Garibaldi and close friend Max Steger to start making something that felt new and different, and the track took off on its own. I would say that it’s about when you’re feeling down on yourself, or letting down the one that you love, and discovering to put yourself first. What’s your stage presence like? (for someone who has never seen you live before) We have been known for some wild shows back in the day. It’s was almost difficult to get shows in certain areas around the country, because they would follow our content and think that we were “bad news.” We are an incredibly passionate band, and put everything we have into every performance. We love entertaining and making sure that everyone is having a night to remember. We can’t wait to get back out and make more unforgettable moments. What’s next for THEDEADWOODS? We have been working with our team on making a lot of new music, but also not rushing the creative process. We will be spending a lot of time performing around the Midwest during the making of our new album, and possibly making our way out to the West Cost around October. Our goal is to not only make great music that people can relate to, but also be great performers and put on unforgettable shows. We want the crowd to have as much fun as we do on stage every night. • Elektric Animals Releases Trailblazing Hit, “Vulnerable Thing”

Elektric Animals is an alternative rock band all the way from Denver, Colorado. Their sound is a tasteful mix of 90’s Garage rock, Classic Blues, Smooth Alternative indie rock, and a sprinkle of post-grunge. They burst into the Denver scene in early 2018 with singles “Obsessive” and “Cool Calm collected.” They released their latest record titled “Vulnerable Thing” and sealed the Animals as an upcoming band to watch. Something about rock music could be so powerful and dynamic. The genre is so gorgeous with its bad-ass guitar strumming and diverse chaos it gives. While remaining chaotic, rock bands still give powerful meanings behind their music. And some of their vocals? Well, do we need to even cover how talented these artists are? The band Elektric Animals represents these qualities enough with a range that’s out of this world and vocally taking their voices through ultimately different registers. The melody in “Vulnerable Thing” was so prepossessing you felt elevated throughout. The exhilarating energy this song presents is something you just can’t find in most records! Elektric Animals is a force to be reckoned with. Their sound, their delivery, and the arrangement show professionalism and structure within this family. We will be looking forward to seeing what else this hard-hitting and iconic band can deliver us. Check out "Vulnerable Thing" here and read more below in our exclusive interview! What’s up Elektric Animals! It’s always interesting hearing the formation of a band. How did Elektric Animals form? Next question. Just kidding! We always get asked this question and I can never spice up the story enough to make it interesting. One thing I can say is our original drummer made everyone else in the band quit their other projects. The moment we all did he packed up his things and went to another band. When they say bands are like relationships they are not lying. Everytime we see his new band play we feel like we walked in to our significant other cheating on the bed we bought! Knowing your sound favors the classic Rock n Roll era, who would you consider some of your influences? Our influences range from 70's Rock to Blues to 90's Alternative and even modern Pop. I could go through each band that has influenced each member but things will start getting messy. One thing I love about our band is nobody likes the same type of music. Bands our guitarist loves are bands that I personally could do without and bands I love our guitarist despises haha. It makes for a really unique dynamic. How do you differentiate yourself from other rock bands? As I said in the question before we just have such a variety of influences. When we write music we never try and put a genre on it. We just each add things we love and it blossoms into this complete song. Sometimes I don't even know if I would consider us a Rock band. But don't tell that to the other guys. They will kill me! Let’s talk about this rad single “Vulnerable Thing.’ This song felt like it had a strong message presented behind it. What was the meaning and theme behind this? When I write I tend to start with just a stream of consciousness. I don't really choose a topic I want to write about. I just start singing and writing lyrics whether they make sense or not. Then I will look back and kind of see a story come together. I almost prefer hearing how other people interpret it. Sometimes outside sources understand what I'm trying to say more than I do! So what do you think the message is?! Any exciting upcoming live performances? Our next sealed date is August 30th at The Marquis Theatre in Denver. We also are setting up a mini tour for early September. So let us know where you want to see us! Thanks again for everything Buzz Music! Stay connected! • NEW MUSIC: Disguise Blue Has Release The First Of Three New Tracks This Summer “So Good”

Miami based, two member collective, Disguise Blue are not just well known for their witty word play. This dynamic duo made up of Liam O’Brien and John Nichols are taking the mainstream music industry by storm. The two met in Bruce Hornsby Songwriters Program at the University of Miami and have stayed connected ever since. Fusing John’s alternative writing style with Liam’s more pop vibe elements they decided to establish Disguise Blue, a genre-bending creation that melds both members into one common and explosive sound. Disguise Blue plans to release their first three tracks throughout the Summer of 2019. Their debut release and a hot summer pop anthem is titled “So Good” and staying true to its name it does not disappoint. Layers of catchy piano riffs, bass, and melodious lyricism blast through the speakers. Liam and John possess an evident chemistry through their creation of music. On top of being an addicting track, “So Good” boasts a certain developed confidence that cannot be faked. Disguise Blue’s feel good and lighthearted track “So Good” makes the listener want to get up and dance and escape into the refreshing music. The new wave sound and increasingly alluring duo of Disguise Blue has made their ambitious debut and we hope they’re here to stay. Liam O’Brien and John Nichols are a powerhouse duo with much more to come! Check out “So Good” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hi guys! How did you come up with the name Disguise Blue? We knew we wanted the name to make absolutely no sense, yet also make a ton of sense. The goal was to be ambiguous. We wanted people to ask questions about our name. Then John got this new notebook that was a really cool shade of blue and we kind of just started putting words together and Disguise Blue came out and we both said "this could mean so many things...it's perfect." It even sounds like other things: "The Sky's Blue, This Guy's Blue". It also sounds like a spy movie! This added a fun and goofy side to the brand, which we already knew we wanted to have, but to have it in the name was even better. What musical influences did you each have growing up? How do you they inspire you? John: Red Hot Chili Peppers, specifically John Frusciante, is probably my primary guitar influence. Muse taught me to always have a theatrical performance and to not be afraid to be grandiose. Coheed and Cambria inspired me to strive to create an immersive world with my projects, and that people will connect to more than just the music. Liam: My first big musical influences growing up were anything and everything classic rock, inspired by my brother and dad's favorite artists. As a piano player, Billy Joel, Elton John, and Queen molded into my three favorites. I also had a musical theater background which kind of went with my love for their music. When I started writing, people would say they could hear the Billy and the show tune vibes. As I started exploring more music, I discovered Eric Hutchinson, Andy Grammer, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, and more. All artists who I admired for their talent, their writing, and their good vibes. The music I wrote evolved, but is still supported by the back bone of my childhood favorites. Can you describe the advantages and disadvantages of having diverse musical tastes within your duo? Oh man. Advantages: we create things we would've never expected to create. Sometimes things we haven't even heard from any other artists before. We'll ask in the studio: "Whose production should we try to get inspiration from? Well, I don't even know who's written anything like this...um...so, we just do whatever we want?" It works quite well. Disadvantages: we're both perfectionists and strong minded, so our initial reaction with everything is to write it exactly as we hear it and argue our side. So, obviously there's friction, but it's a good friction. We're both adults and know how to swallow our pride, accept our differences, and sit back and remember: "Right, this is why we're doing this. Let's make a hybrid out of our ideas and make something we haven't heard before." Did I just flip that into an advantage? Yes, I did. We love your debut track “So Good”! How do you want listeners to react to this song? When we started this project, we wanted people to feel a lot of things listening to our music, but there was one standout: positivity. We want people to feel uplifted and inspired from the songs we write. There's something about Disguise Blue that's so mysterious and positive to us, and our music should reflect that same message. With this song in particular, we wanted people to remember that even when the negative things in life build up and are closing in on you, there must be a positive somewhere that keeps you going, keeps you feeling good. Any release dates for your next tracks you want to mention? As we finish up some of the content to go along with the next tracks, we'll be adding dates to the calendar. So, stay tuned, but more music will be coming shortly! Stay connected with Disguise Blue! • Lexie Martin Premieres The Video To Her Optimistic Dance Hit, “I Can”

Lexie Martin is the upcoming sensation that hails all the way from Long Island, New York. she just moved to Los Angeles, California in February of 2018 to follow her passion for music. She released her first EP ever produced by Nash Overstreet in January of this year. It's 5 original songs centered around self-love and empowerment with plenty of great dance tunes. Lexie Martin premieres the video to one of the leading songs off the EP, “I Can”. this danceable hit has smooth connectable elements of R&B and PoP fused together to create an ultimate vibe for its listener. I was a big fan of the production of the beat. The way her vocals were able to just float beautifully on top of the beat was the element of true skill and vocal ability. The beat just gets you grooving and moving without even realizing it. It’s so fun, bold, and charismatic. However, what we REALLY loved was the connection between the lyricism and the visual. Lexie Martin is seen dressed in a stylistic unicorn attire with two dancers next to her. As she sings a song about owning who you are and your differences from other individuals, she is dancing with pure confidence and completely taking over the spotlight with her natural presence that is felt through the video. The main message of this? Lexie Martin wants her listener to attain the fortitude of self-love regardless of what shape, religion, sexual orientation, race, etc. you are! You are loved and deserve to be celebrated! What better way to promote this message than through a hypnotic and elevating groovy hit? Check out "I Can" here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Welcome to BuzzMusic Lexie Martin! How has the major transition from New York to California been for you? Have the two locations impacted your style in any way? Thank you so much for the warm welcome! The transition from Long Island to Los Angeles has been challenging at times, but I’ve truly fallen in love with the city. I miss my New York pizza and bagels, but the weather and people here definitely make up for that! Musically, I don’t think my locations have necessarily impacted my style. Both NYC and LA are excellent music hubs. Genre-wise I love what I love and wherever I am I find a way to be where it’s happening, whether it be in a studio or out at a jazz club, cabaret club, or open mic. Rather than location, what’s more so influenced my style is the music I grew up with, particularly jazz (Natalie Cole in particular) and any early 2000s pop and R&B. Let’s talk about your first EP you released this year! What was the vision you were seeking for this project? The vision for this EP was ultimately a handful of feel good songs. I wanted this to be an introduction to not just me as an artist, but me as a person. I wanted self love anthems and bops. I would hope people listening to the EP feel that connection, that musical hug, and empowered. For the actual EP cover, the vision was a lawn party! I went to Walmart and bought lawn flamingos, bubble guns, an inflatable child’s pool, ball pit balls and an inflatable unicorn. Just creating that ideal afternoon. We were VIBING with “I Can”. In what ways does it fit into the theme of your EP! Why did you select this song to create a video to and How does it stand out from the other songs? I am so glad! That warms my soul to know that people are connecting with my work and enjoy it. “I Can” has a bit more R&B flavor to it, particularly at the beginning and in the verses more than the other jams, but like my other songs, it’s a feel good vibe. “I Can” was created to be a pop tune self love anthem. It also has a ton of sass. It speaks to situations you face when people tell you “no” and don’t believe in you. The most important thing is for you to believe in yourself. At the end of the day, you need to love and value yourself first. I chose to create a video to this song first just because of how excited I am for this song. I love all five songs on the EP, but this particular one I thought most showcased what my vibe is musically and my personality. “I Can” stands apart from the other songs by having a guest artist, RAFAEL ★, rap during the bridge, has those R&B influences and I think it has the most moxie. I wasn’t afraid to be myself and really let my personality take the front seat. In what ways were you able to personally relate to the message of “I Can”? While writing “I Can” I thought of particular instances while pursuing my dream of music, I was turned down multiple times because of my weight. I was told by men in powerful positions that ultimately a girl of my size couldn’t make it in the pop arena because it wasn’t attractive. Hearing these things at eighteen from people who I thought held my future in their hands was mortifying and I put my dream of being a musical artist on hold for the next five years. After graduating college I realized that I only have this one life to live and I better live it right and pursue what makes me truly happy. For all those “no’s” someone will say “yes” and that first “yes” has to come from me. Even if listeners can not relate to this specific situation, I know that we encounter “haters” enough times to understand that ultimately although they hurt our feelings, they absolutely do not control our future. What’s next for Lexie Martin? I’m currently working towards a full length album and putting the pieces together for another music video for “Extra” off this EP. I’m also performing around LA! You can see me sing an acoustic version of “I Can” tonight, 6/24, at Bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood as part of the La-Ti-Do cabaret show starting at 8pm. • Pastel Ghost Ambient Sound Will Captivate You In “3NDL3SS”

While critics may struggle to define PASTEL GHOST’s music with tidy descriptors like witch-rave or blog-house, it’s evident that PASTEL GHOST is creating sounds that take flight beyond any genre boundaries. It’s just very unorthodox to describe this unusual yet intriguing artist. Pastel Ghost released “3NDL3SS” and it’s like you’re entering a musical black hole that takes you into a complete different realm. As a personal fan of ethereal music that has this atmospheric cloud surrounding the vibe of the song, “3NDL3ss” was a smooth listen for me. The Austin-based artist laces elements of dream-pop, post-punk, and electronica to create sounds that can only be described as otherworldly. She just takes you into multiple different arrangements while remaining loyal to one specific sound that’s quite difficult to describe. Ethereal vocals glides over a chilly synth hook and a thumping drum beat, creating a track so infectious, they can lure even the most brooding shoegazers onto the dance floor. This summer, everyone is looking for a mood to indulge themselves in. Pastel Ghost gives us this hazy vibe you just can’t forget. The unforgettable experience is like a natural musical drug that will leave you addicted! By tying her love of hazy, anime visuals to her sound, “3NDL3SS” have an instant cinematic feel to it, evoking a dreamy imagery that is significant to the components of PASTEL GHOST.
