We loved "BETTER", we wanted to ask! What was the inspiration behind this release? "BETTER" was inspired by the end of a relationship. It was time for something better. More generally, we all face situations that we want to move on from and get to a better place. What is your favorite part of the creative process for making music, and what was your favorite part of seeing your vision for the music video come to life? I love all parts of the creative process, from the first ideas to full songwriting, working in the studio, figuring out the cover art, etc. For the "BETTER" video, I worked for the fourth time with David Rousseau, one of the best-known music video directors (Pitbull, Shakira, etc.) I sent him the song, lyrics, and a mood board of colors, images, and vibes I saw for the song. The storyline and location choice were his ideas, though we brainstormed around them. The shoot was smooth, and we communicated in some ways without talking. What does music mean to you? What goals do you want to achieve through your music? I want to raise the spirits of people I reach with my songs. Music is everything to me. I work on my music every day. Over time, I hope to be able to perform more broadly worldwide. So far, I have performed in parts of the US, Europe, and Japan. What do you want people to feel when they hear your music? It depends on the song. "BETTER" is an optimistic tune that can help those in a rut or those on their way to a better situation if it makes them tap their feet or dance even better. What's next for MERESHA? Can we expect to hear more new music soon? Is there anything you'd like to say to your fans? I have started work on my debut album, which I plan to finish by August. So far, I have released singles, EPs, and compilation albums/mixtapes. This album will be my first concept album. I have already started on it. For now, fans can get to know me by listening to the "BETTER Mixtape," which includes twenty of my best songs. I am curious which ones they like best. Instagram Facebook

Give yourself the sonic warm embrace you deserve with Steven Ryan's latest single, "With You," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Steven! We truly admire the vulnerability and passion in your single, "With You." What inspired you to create such an emotionally charged song like this? Thanks for having me! “With You” was inspired by a collective of experiences. The main one was friends of mine who had gotten married and had a hard time finding a song that didn’t have specific lyrics that didn’t pertain to their love. Between that and friends I’ve had who struggled to find a song that didn’t have gendered language, I wanted to write an inclusive love song for anyone and everyone. I feel like everyone deserves love and a love song, which ultimately inspired the song. What was your favorite part about creating "With You?” Was it cathartic to be so open and vulnerable during your songwriting process? Many of my writings have a catharsis in being open and finally putting out what you’ve kept inside the world. This song had the bonus of hopefully creating that feeling for other people who don’t write songs but finally see themselves or their truth in a love song. "With You" has attracted a significant number of listeners so far. Why do you think people are so drawn to this particular song? What has attracted so many listeners so far is that most people see themselves or their partner or the love they have in the song. Sometimes, as writers, we get caught up in being as cryptic as possible or trying to be clever. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a time and place for it. But I like to make the majority of my music accessible to a wide variety of people, whether that has to do with who they are, what they’ve been through, or even maybe whether or not English is their first language. Songs like this and, to a large degree, love songs in general, in my opinion, don’t need to be vague and convoluted. What are we hiding behind? Just say you’re in love. Did you work alongside any musicians or producers when creating "With You?” What were those collaborations like? ”With You” and the whole album were self-produced and recorded. Due to the world not being as open when I recorded my 2021 album “Light Of Day,” I produced and played all the parts on that album. With the world being open and able to collaborate this last time, it was exciting to be back to working with people on the music. I worked with and continue working with some amazing musicians on this album, and look forward to working even more profoundly with these guys I’ve formed a bond with through the making of this song and this album. What made you want to release an extended version of your Life, Love & Everything After album? What can you say about the newly added songs and how they add to the overall experience and concept? One of the main reasons I wanted to release the extended version is that I feel like songs are meant to be heard, and even if a song only reaches or helps one person, that makes it worth releasing. Don’t get me wrong, I will always have many songs on the cutting room floor. But I’ve gotten much less precious in recent years and just can’t stand the thought of songs sitting on my hard drive that could have been there for someone in their time of need. On top of all of that, the concepts explored in the album couldn’t be fully explored in a million songs, let alone 15. So, the extended album is precisely that: a continuation of the concepts and stories on the album. All of the songs fit into one of the three categories of the album title. The additional tracks are two Love songs, “With You” and “I Could See It In Your Eyes,” two Life songs, “Why Do I Do This” and “Save Myself,” and the final song is a loss song or as shown in the title and Everything After song which is called “The End.” If any listeners have the time, I encourage them to listen to the album in the released order front to back at least once to get the full picture and experience some of the easter eggs in the album that you can only catch by listening in its entirety. ANTi, known for his prowess as a sought-after producer in Nashville's underground pop scene, takes center stage as an artist and frontman in this electrifying track. The song kicks off with a crisp, atmospheric beat dripping in nostalgia and setting the stage for ANTi's profound and angelic vocals to take the spotlight. "Glass House" is a glimpse into ANTi's forthcoming debut solo album, marking his return to the forefront of the music scene. Co-written with Rich Harris and Graham Mallany and co-produced by Harris, the track is a masterclass in pop songcraft and airtight production. The melodies weave through the soundscape, creating a mesmerizing tapestry that captures the era's essence while offering a fresh, contemporary twist. ANTi's lyrical motifs shimmer and light up the mind, adding depth to the eclectic soundscape that unfolds exhilaratingly. The song shares some sonic DNA with ANTi's previous works but refines and distills the elements—shimmering synths, sledgehammer beats, and precise guitar work—to their most potent form. As ANTi explores deeper and more contemplative subject matter, his matured vocal skills and emotional delivery add layers to the composition. "Glass House" is a retro-futuristic pop spectacle that invites you to dance through the decades and lose yourself in its infectious energy. Welcome to Buzz, ANTi! We love your latest track, "Glass House," and the performance you deliver. Can you please walk us through your collaborative process with co-writers and producers Rich Harris and Graham Mallany and how you collectively shaped the sonic landscape of this track? Thanks so much. Rich and I met early last year via my wife, a songwriter, and the three of us started collaborating on a couple of songs. For me also being a producer who works by myself much of the time, it was a completely refreshing experience having his perspective. It added touch, and especially his technical expertise. So, for the song that would become "Glass House," I basically brought to the session an instrumental track I had started, and Rich took that and just built this amazing beat on top of it, accenting it with other cool textures and synths. Graham, another world-class artist/producer/writer, and friend, worked with me on shaping the lyrics and melody while Rich sculpted the track, and the three of us bounced ideas back and forth the whole time. Graham has such an insane instinct for melody, and he brought the hook to life. The entire song and track came together in a single afternoon at Rich's studio, and the storyline was sort of an accident because I had called the original instrumental idea "Glass Houses" just to give it a name. Both Graham and Rich killed it and helped me get out of my way as the artist. Do you find your experience as a producer influences your approach to creating music as a solo artist? How so? Absolutely. I tend to think like a producer because that is the nature of the work I do with other artists, and it's just my primary strength in a creative situation. I can usually hear a record in my head before it exists, what it sounds like, and what mood it evokes, and I tend to know how to create the sounds that I imagine more than, say, seeing a lyric or a storyline in my head before it exists. A lot of times, I'll create short instrumental tracks, like vibe teasers, that serve as a launchpad for writing, and the feeling of those tracks often inform the personality and shape of a lyric. I guess, in a way, it's kind of like working backward. The lyrics delve into more profound subject matter. Can you please share a glimpse into the inspiration behind the lyrical themes and the emotional journey you wanted to convey to your audience? The lyrics were written mainly by Graham Mallany and me, just starting from the title, which became the hook. I didn't have any preconceptions going into the writing session, but the track's emotion was sort of misty and melancholy, so I think we knew the song would have a more sincere tone. I tend to write relationship songs no matter the context because it's how we all relate to life and each other. Relationship songs are universal, no matter how specific the lyrics are. So, when we thought about the idea of a glass house, Graham started to talk about what that might mean. We landed on this concept of two people in a relationship where things are falling apart but where the outside world is more aware of it than they are because the walls are see-through, and the light keeps getting in. How has your sound matured and developed, and what elements from your earlier works do you intentionally carry forward into your current artistic expression? First and foremost, as an artist I make music that I want to listen to, I incorporate sounds and elements that I am a fan of in other artists' music. For me, that means that a lot of what I do is based on synthpop, where I use a lot of retro-sounding keyboards and synthesizers and big, thick drum sounds. Honestly, it's just what my ears like to hear. I'm a huge fan of Prince, Phil Collins, The Weeknd, Chromeo, and plenty of others who sort of live in the same synth-forward universe. My music has always had an '80s-inspired aesthetic in some way, but I think the more I've developed as an artist, the more those ingredients have morphed and matured into something current and more unique. Collaborating with other producers and writers has also helped distill those elements into something modern. I tend to be more minimalist now, too, with fewer sounds and parts overall, but making everyone count. If you could transport "Glass House" to a specific moment or setting in time, where would it be, and why? What emotions or experiences do you hope listeners take away from this musical journey? "Glass House" feels like a portrait of the first serious heartbreak you have as an adult, where there's something at stake. We've all had that experience where you storm off and go for a drive by yourself after a fight with your lover or partner, with no direction in mind other than being behind the wheel and letting your emotions dissipate. To me, this song is like the conversation you have in your head on that drive, the things you might not say out loud but feel deeply and need to express in some way. It's a breaking point, one that could be the end of the road or one that tests and eventually strengthens the relationship. I hope anyone going through a difficult time with their partner or significant other can see themselves in this song and know that we all experience the same push and pull in love and relationships. That's what music is about - the human experience. Instagram Facebook
- Megan Vice & Valiant Vermin Drop A New Music Video, “Never Gonna Get With Me”
Recently releasing their ultra-serious yet tongue-in-cheek single, "Never Gonne Get With Me," singer-songwriters Megan Vice and Valiant Vermin are back with an equally cheeky music video for the smash hit. Megan Vice, the New York-born, LA-based pop artist, is praised for her glamorous style, eclectic music blending disco, funk, rock, and R&B, and witty, unfiltered lyrics, contributing behind the scenes as a songwriter for RuPaul's Drag Race and more. Teaming up with Philippines-born, LA-based artist Valiant Vermin, the two ladies are smacking the scene with a message that needs to be heard loud and clear. Don't get us wrong — the gals did a superb job highlighting the 'Hollyweird' politics and challenges faced by women in the music industry in the single. They both bring the message to light in a playful, vibrantly confident way, standing their ground and knowing damn well that their artistry is what'll bring them success, not giving in to the potential "opportunities" of sexual behavior. But now, Megan Vice and Valiant Vermin bring the message home in the new music video for "Never Gonna Get With Me." While chilling in their multi-colored robes, wrapping towels around their heads, and reading Architectural Digest in an LA backyard, they make one crystal clear: they're doing just fine without sacrificing their self-worth and pride. Amen to that! We love the blasé appeal of the video, perfectly backing up their message of women's empowerment while giving us a chuckle in the process. As they lounge around the yard, relishing the views and each other's company, they bring the video to an end in a calm, cool, and collected manner. A perfect representation of how "unbothered" they are by the industry's politics. Treat yourself to the visually appealing and empowering music video for "Never Gonna Get With Me" by Megan Vice and Valiant Vermin, now available on YouTube. - Katie Dauson Talks About New Album, ‘Fool’s Gold’
Welcome to Buzz, Katie! What a ride you've taken us on with your recent album, Fool's Gold. What inspired you to write this story-like album? Thank you. The way I wrote the album wasn't a conscious decision. I wanted to write a Country album for a while, and originally, this wasn't going to be a Country album. However, the deeper I got into writing and recording it, the more I realized that Fool's Gold would be just that. I don't pre-plan any album; I just write what comes to me. Which song from the album Fool's Gold is your personal favorite and why? What makes that song stand out to you? It would have to be Galactic Buckaroo. I really enjoy this song because of all the pop culture and science references I made, and because I did something I hadn't done before: I rapped! How is Fool's Gold different from your previous three albums? What does this album have that the others don't? Fool's Gold is a pure Country album. Some of my previous albums have Country songs, but they aren't full-on Country. Also, there's a song on this album that I used a new instrument on. I played a banjo on the song Blue. I had never played or recorded with a banjo, so that was different. Did you work with any producers, musicians, or artists when creating the album Fool's Gold? Who helped you bring this project to life? I always work with my engineer/producer, James Nickle, on all my work. I write the songs, and he helps me bring them to life. He makes recording a lot of fun and very enjoyable. What do you hope listeners feel and take away after hearing Fool's Gold? What emotions or thoughts did you want to leave them with? I just want to bring a little bit of joy to my listeners' days. It's not about me; it's about my listeners. Read the full BuzzMusic review on 'Fools Gold' here. Instagram Facebook

- Lilypads Release Electric Follow-Up “Too Many Times (Never Mind)”
The Berkshire-bred Indie Pop band Lilypads are at it again. Following their captivating debut, “Ode To You,” the duo turned trio has raised the bar with their second single, “Too Many Times (Never Mind).” The ever-present harmonies and musicality are once more on the whole show, creating a refreshingly nostalgic sound that quickly becomes iconic. Initially formed by brothers Thomas and Oliver Norman in late 2022, Lilypads burst onto the London scene within the year, headlining sold-out shows at iconic venues like “The Old Queens Head'' and “O2 Academy Islington''. Adding rhythmic powerhouse Richard Marletta on drums has taken the boys to new heights. They are now looking to make a statement in what is touted to be a seminal show at the historic “Bush Hall” on the 27th of April. Too Many Times (Never Mind) is as relatable as it comes. Though at heart a story of unrequited love and misplaced hope, the message is not as somber as it seems. As the title suggests, despite relentless setbacks happening repeatedly, the core message of “never mind,” to pick ourselves up and try once more, shines through. The lyrics are beautifully interwoven between uplifting melodies and put in perspective by the endless optimism that vocalist Oliver presents. Check out the music video; it framed the song perfectly and left us excited about what Lilypads will do next. “Too Many Times (Never Mind)” is out now. Instagram
