- DARÁ Dives Headfirst Into The Cosmos On Their Captivating New Release, “Pisces”
How does one capture the mystique of the starry night so well? How would you describe the infinite energy of the universe juxtaposed with the tranquillity of nature? Because that’s what DARÁ’s music feels like. Listening to a DARÁ release is like witnessing a grand symphony of existence where contrasting forces coexist in a delicate balance. Rather than competing on DARÁ’s sonic canvas, they somehow end up in perfect harmony. Give credit where credit is due; it's not an easy task, but DARÁ has impressively become one of the few bands to capture the vast expanses of the universe and nature in a way that feels authentic and natural. Drawing influence from the serene Fibonacci and star signs, DARÁ’s expansive artistic vision is truly an undertaking of epic scale. Much like the essence of tranquillity, DARÁ’s music feels like a calming balm for the soul. It evokes imagery of the gentle rustle of leaves in a forest, the soothing sound of a babbling brook, and the vast expanses of the starry night sky. DARÁ’s music offers a warm, peaceful respite from the universe's chaos, providing a serene sanctuary where life unfolds at its own unhurried pace. Fittingly, their recently released album “Fibonacci Signs” dives headfirst into this expanse. Anchored by whimsical yet ethereal wind chimes, “Pisces” feels like a slightly melancholy take on DARÁ’s expression of the universe. “Pisces” feels like an earnest exploration into the unknown, into the possibly eerie…..but this is one function of the infinite expanse known as the universe. There’s something magical about not knowing everything about the cosmos, and “Pisces” perfectly captures this feeling of uncertainty yet willingness to learn. Although no lyrics exist, “Pisces” is a vast, immersive soundscape. It’s a testament to the infinite power of the cosmos and of DARÁ’s ability to harness this power through sound. DARÁ’s release “Pisces” is an enchanting, relaxing offering that makes you pause and consider the infinite wonders of the starry expanse we call the universe. - KOFIE DIAMONDS Releases His Beautiful Arranged Single “All In All”
KOFIE DIAMONDS is an artist all the way from Chicago, Illinois. His cultural background is Jamaican and Ghanaian descent, and he makes music for people of his generation to enjoy. His music spans from all different genres including trap, soul, pop, and more, so he can do just about anything. KOFIE DIAMONDS released his single titled “All In All” and this beautiful record is so heart-rendering and mesmerizing. The melodic piano introduction creates the melancholic vibe in the beginning before his soulful vocals transition in with a warm vocal tone and a resonance that’s just unforgettable. His vocal control is out of this world, and the tone of his voice is so texturized it releases chills through your body. His voice so magical, you felt your emotions being tugged at while listening to this gorgeous and alluring record. The arrangement of “All In All” was emotionally capturing. His vocals reminded me of the vocals of an artist like John Legend. John Legend has a way of moving its listeners through the motions of his music, similar to what KOFIE DIAMONDS did. You became intertwined with “All in All.” K OFIE DIAMONDS is undeniably going to be the next memorable vocalist in the industry. You can’t help but fall in love with his voice. Knowing your personal style of music could be multi-dimensional, do you have any specific artists who may have influenced your artistry in any way? I have no one or four influences. Honestly, I have like a million different influences throughout a million different genres because I’m so easily inspired. I’ve avidly listened to a few hundred artists because I hear and get inspired by new people every day, and my appetite for new music is always there. But If I had to name a hunch few randomly, they would be J Cole, Kanye, Sarkodie, Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, One Republic, Lincoln Park, The Fray, Chance the Rapper, John Legend, Roddy Ricch, Daniel Caesar, Alicia keys, nasty c, to name a hand few, Tell us about your album “Bonsai.” What was the overall vision for this project? To keep it simple, bonsai is a project I’ve been working on for a long time, months in fact. It’s a 9-track album along with a collective of artwork intertwined into one theme. As for the theme itself, it has a personal explication to me that I hope to elaborate on, but for the meanwhile, I’m catering this to the people who will question the concept of Bonsai or what it even means based on my past work because it isn’t much like my past work. I try to avoid being the bag of M&M’s when it comes to music, whereas the product may vary in color, but overall tastes the same. Therefore, I’m like a bag of Skittles when it comes to my music. No one really knows what to expect from me because I keep them guessing, and that’s why my listeners are so avid. How does your record “All in All” fit into the theme of “Bonsai”? I wrote “All in all” on a Thursday evening. I was just in my mind for hours in the dark on my living room couch, just reflecting on my presence. I was super stressed out, but my heart was in a place it never was before, and I didn’t know why. I had this strange episode where I spontaneously heard this melody, and as soon as I sang the notes, the words just came right out, and I was like, “yep, here we go”. It was strange, but I started to forward imagine a relationship that I am in, years from now and what I would say to that significant other because of how hurt I was at the time. Too many people had let me down, and I trusted people who never had my best interest at heart. I feel like I was telling myself, “Kofi, you're alright, you fine, stop stressin’,” and my heart wanted to let me know that I wasn't okay. It all came together in less than an hour, but I didn’t know what exactly the song was, the melody just caught me off guard. By the end of that night, I had a hook and a pre-chorus but no song yet, so I recorded it off my phone and kept it until weeks later when I finished writing it. The whole idea of it was a phrase or a sort of covenant to the commitment I desired in a relationship, which was honesty and trust. The narrative of the song changed over the course of six weeks but I eventually recorded 2 versions of “All in all”, one of them on my album. What differentiates “All in All” from your past releases? I had just dropped “3 digits,” which I got mad love for in Chicago, where I'm from, but when I started meeting new groups of people in the suburbs outside of the city, from churches and retreats, I knew that I couldn’t play my explicit content comfortably around them, I knew I had to come with a different approach. I wanted everyone to listen to my music, not just the hood, So I started listening to the more solemn ends of my playlists and studying R&B, rock, blues, and soul more now than before. I wanted this to be an album that had a sort of reverent love theme, but Bonsai was always much deeper than that. I ended up talking about heartbreak, depression, love, happiness, and overall growth. Bonsai was the realization that we are the stars that never existed (as stars) but as people. All in all was just another nugget in the bag for me. What’s next for you? That’s the question I want everyone to ask. That's the question on everyone's mind right now. Who knows? Will I do a rap album? Will I release a rock album? Will I release a soul or another bonsai album? Maybe a pop album? Collaborations maybe? I them guessing because I don't want you to know what to expect. But what I will say is I have much more still yet to be released, I have many more giveaways and adventures coming, and I have a BANGER dropping next month, so stay tuned if you will. Instagram

Hailing from Chicago, KOFIE DIAMONDS is a producer, singer, and songwriter. Having been nominated for BUZZMUSIC's breakout of the year, it is no surprise that he made number 17 on their Spotify Global hits top 100 playlists in 2019. KOFIE DIAMONDS has the silky nonchalance of Daniel Caesar, the organic vocals of Dennis Lloyd, and the legendary class of Frank Ocean. “NEVERLAND” is the type of song that can play on repeat for hours without getting tired of it. This track belongs in your favorite chill rap playlist, where it would fit seamlessly among the greats. The backtrack of “NEVERLAND” sets the scene for the rest of the song; you can easily picture yourself in a classy lounge soundtracked by a delicate serenade of a grand piano. With the alluring piano melody, KOFIE DIAMONDS showcases his natural ear for organic instrumentations. He soon joins the graceful sonic atmosphere with his relaxing, rapping voice. KOFIE DIAMONDS voice is elegantly refined with his laid back attitude, and his ability to adjust his passion levels depending on the verse. Without becoming overbearing, the trap beat brings just the right amount of fire and soul into the mix. To add to “NEVERLAND’s” magnetic auditory experience, KOFIE DIAMONDS will lure you in through his introspective songwriting. Often singing in metaphors, the rapper makes the listener turn inward to decipher the larger message behind his words. By allowing his artistic creations to remain organic, KOFIE DIAMONDS is making a name for himself in the world of chill rap with his charismatic single “NEVERLAND.” Considering that you generally use metaphors in your songwriting, could you elaborate on the message behind your lyrics for “NEVERLAND?” NEVERLAND is a vocal reel of thoughts and emotions. It clearly depicts a reality that I had to live through for a long while, like If I were to meet you on the train somewhere in Chicago, NEVERLAND would be everything said at that moment before either you or I reach their stop. Even though I just met this gorgeous girl, I’m opening my heart, telling my story, encouraging her to follow her dreams, and offering her my emotional and intimate support before we no longer know each other. She’s already an angel, she already has wings, but it’s up to her to decide whether she wants me to fly with her or not. What was your inspiration for “NEVERLAND?” Can you tell us a bit about the songwriting and production process? I heard the beat (Prod. by the late and great J Dilla) and the tone of the piano just pierced my mind wide open, I immediately caught something. It was like reciting a story that was never written. The first take sounded so familiar to something that I would've heard before because of how accurate it was to how I think and feel. It was a perfect one-take narrative. Nothing was there that didn’t need to be. It would've taken me days to write what I had come up with in 14 minutes. I made myself vulnerable for three and a half of those minutes and that's really what you're listening to. You certainly stand out to us when it comes to chill rap songs. Are there any specific artists that you draw inspiration from? I draw inspiration from myself, I believe I am the source of my artistry. I vocally follow my immediate thoughts and emotions. How does “NEVERLAND” compare to the rest of your songs? Has your music style evolved since your debut as an artist? In one of the lines after the hook I remember going “-and every blank canvas is the unbothered potential”, and that was when I realized the measure of authenticity the recording had provided to me in that space. This was one of the songs that not much effort was needed, but a lot of thought was put into, and I had to remind myself that I was the source of that entire narrative and it only made 100% sense to my life and what I was going through. Other people listen to it in awe or their demeanor changes before the song is over. If you can relate to the song, then you can relate to what goes through my head. If you can relate to my music, you relate to me as an artist and person. I feel like I’m in an open bracket in terms of my style when it comes to my music. I've never been one figure. I’ve never had one sound. What has been keeping you inspired to create? I feel like this year gave me more time to think and ponder on ideas that I could share with the world that people can actually resonate with. I love suggesting emotions to people that I actually feel through my music whether planned or unplanned. If you can feel what I'm saying, even if you don’t like me or agree with my art, or have never been through nearly half of what I’ve experienced, if you can still feel what I'm saying, you know where my heart is and if your heart is there too, then we are healing the same. And like I just mentioned not everyone will like or agree with it, though enough people do, nobody breaks the same and everyone heals differently. Coming to terms with that reality and finding the audacity to promote my ideas during the last few months is motivation in itself, to say I started something and the people like it. Instagram

Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream “Keep Me From Loving You”, out now on all majour streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, The Chris Michael Band! We loved "Keep Me From Loving You," what a tender and heartfelt release! What was the inspiration behind this song? The song has a history. All songs with substance are saturated with experience. This particular one was inspired by both myself and my brother and sister. Law, what started as a performance at a wedding, wound up into a profound writing about the past, present, and future. I wanted to keep pop elements and structure to the song but also wanted an inspiring melody, hoping others would hear and share about the connection of 2 people meeting and falling in love. I had some assistance from Chris on the writing. He is a fellow incredible songwriter from Winnipeg; I remember all too well finalizing the song while driving through the mountains of BC when I took the trip to the wedding. I had recorded a demo and was editing it right up to the last minute. I had alot of support from the fantastic songwriter Chris Ising to push through some melodies I was struggling with. Chris was an asset to the success of the song. There wasn't anything as unique as everyone getting up and joining in at the wedding for a dance to the song. That was a special moment I'll forever hold in my heart. There is a pic on socials stuck in the car, head cans on, lol. I'm not kidding—a heck of a fantastic trip that was. I may have been a bit distracted for part of the trip. What's your favorite part of the creative process for music, and why? But the song never really came to life in Spring last year when the founding members of CMB / Chris Micheal Band worked through a collection of songs to choose to perform. This particular song was the last added to the list and the first to be released. It's funny how that worked out. Once we collaborated and a new pocket was forged for the song, our performances made the song shine a diamond in the rough, and the final composition of the song was born. Ryan's a fantastic drummer. Our personal Los Cobos drummer put together a few new backbones with Aaron, who is the bacon on the bass, no pun intended, haha. They created the canvas that Marlon and Kenny got to paint on. How would you describe your music to someone who hasn't heard it before? If we were to describe what we sound like to people who haven't heard us, our sound is light-hearted modern country sprinkled with vintage vibes driven by dynamic emotional lyrics with harmonies. What does music mean to you, and what goals do you want to achieve through your music? Music means the whole to us. Most of us have spent our lives as professional musicians. It's more than just a labor of love. It is who we are. What's next for The Chris Michael Band? Anything you want to say to your fans? To our fans, we are incredibly excited to get folks out to upcoming shows and experience the CMB experience. Since we have formed into a band, people don't just get the excitement of the songs; they get to enjoy the friendship and camaraderie of us as a group. Chris Micheal Band is an experience filled with a mixture of acoustic instruments that paint the landscapes of our sound that make us unique. When the lights come on, you can expect to see us in our natural habitat. We have an EP we are currently releasing and to come out in Jan of 2024, and we have already begun to write a complete album together as a group touring is in the cards, so be sure to follow our social media and watch for pre-sales at www.chrismicheal.com. Honey Trap's latest single, "Saints & Sinners," is a mesmerizing plunge into the realms of edgy hard rock, led by the powerhouse vocals of lead singer Jessica Rendon. This electrifying track is an intoxicating fusion of rhythmic guitars, captivating drum patterns, and a bassline that resonates deep within your soul. It's a sonic force that shakes you to your core and leaves you yearning for more. Guitarist Vasilios Bouras's hypnotic riffs set the stage, and when paired with Rendon's sultry vocals, the song transforms into a toe-curling, head-banging experience. "Saints & Sinners" perfectly balances raw energy and melodic prowess. The lyrics are as gripping as the music, reflecting on the pandemic's equalizing effect on people from all walks of life. From gentle moments to bursts of rage, the track mirrors the emotional rollercoaster we've all been on during uncertain times, providing a much-needed outlet for those pent-up feelings. Honey Trap's journey to create this enthralling music has been truly inspiring. The group's ability to distill the best of their talents and work with renowned industry legends like Grammy-winner Steve Albini and Dave Schiffman has elevated their music to a whole new level. They're a force to be reckoned with, and "Saints & Sinners" epitomizes their artistry. The "Saints & Sinners" music video directed by Tom Flynn adds another layer of intrigue. Set against the backdrop of a masqueraded, occult wedding in a New York cathedral, it's a chilling and captivating visual feast. The juxtaposition of saints and sinners and references to Adam and Eve's temptation in the garden creates an eerie atmosphere that perfectly complements the song's themes. Notably, the band members perform their parts with actual snakes, adding a thrilling element of danger. This song and accompanying video couldn't have come at a more fitting time, perfectly timed for the spooky season. "Saints & Sinners" is an anthem that will linger long after your Halloween celebrations. Honey Trap's seductive sonic vibrations are impossible to resist, and you'll surrender willingly to their captivating world of music. It's a treat you won't want to miss this Halloween. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Honey Trap! "Saints & Sinners" is a perfect fit for the spooky season, but more than that, it captures your effervescence as a band. How did the song come about, and what was the creative process like in crafting a track that embodies the season's spirit while staying true to your signature style? Vasilios: Sometimes, when we write a song, the inspiration behind the music arrangement might not always be the same as the meaning of the lyrics. But in the end, we're able to fuse it together and create beautiful art. For me, I started writing the melody of this song during the early lockdown stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. I had never been through more troubling and uncertain times than at that point. I wasn't allowed to work, our former drummer had just left the band, we weren't able to get together to rehearse, and all our shows got canceled due to these lockdowns. The band that I traveled across the country to be a part of and work on music together for years seemed like it was falling apart, and the world felt like it was literally about to end. When I picked up the guitar, the beginning line from 'Saints & Sinners' was the first thing that came out. As soon as things started normalizing and we started meeting for practices again, I showed the rest of the band the song, and they added their finishing touches. Jess: I've always found a tie between religion and mysticism. I like to play with these dark, twisted, and sometimes sexy themes. My singing background began in church, and later my lyrics, when I began writing, were inspired by gothic authors like Edgar Allan Poe, Keats, and Mary Shelley. Can you share your experience working with such renowned figures like Steve Albini and Dave Schiffman in the music business industry and how it has influenced your artistic approach in creating music like "Saints & Sinners"? Jessica: I always refer to Albini as a 'genius in a jumpsuit.' He always wears this mechanic jumpsuit, I love it. He comes in ready to get his hands dirty. Albini didn't speak much, just chain-smoked and drank coffee, and it was very hard to read, so when he gave a compliment, it was very exciting! Dave Schiffman was just the opposite, very talkative, and he had a warm and sarcastic sense of humor, which was a lot of fun. The thing they had in common was YEARS of experience, and it showed. The process of setting up, microphoning the gear, vocals, and recording was so efficient! They were very attentive and on the mark. What inspires the song's lyrics, and how do they mirror the unique experiences of saints and sinners during these uncertain times? The lyrics are inspired by not only the life clock that's always ticking, reminding us of the limited time we have on this earth, but also the doomsday clock. The world has forever been run by both 'Saints and Sinners' with a wavering, translucent line between them. Sometimes, it is impossible to tell the difference between them. It always depends on the perspective. People are driven by both good and evil, and it's that inner struggle that we face daily. In this day and age, our judgment is easily swayed by just a few words in a headline. We have to be vigilant in digging deeper for the truth and then make our decision as to what's right and wrong. We have to remember that we will always disagree on many different topics, but as a whole, we have to stay united for the greater good and for what is, undeniably, a very privileged way of life that I find too many forget and take for granted. The music video for "Saints & Sinners" is noted for its eerie and captivating visuals, with the band members even performing with actual snakes. What was the creative process like in bringing the video to life, and what message or atmosphere were you aiming to convey with these visuals? Making this music video was SOOOO much fun! I love singing in church. I also have a theater background, and I'm a fan of gothic poetry, so having the masks and the costumes was a blast! The snake 'Maria' was a trip. I had never handled a snake before, but it turns out that I'm a natural! We wanted a very Tim Burton and cinematic music video, and I think we hit it home! Can you share any upcoming projects or releases that fans can look forward to? How do you envision your music evolving in the future, and what themes or styles do you hope to explore in your upcoming work? We have been speaking to alot of artists, local and National. Going into the new year, aside from more Honey Trap releases, we're looking forward to putting out alot more collaborations with talented musicians. There's also talk of a reunion with our producer, Dave Schiffman in Toronto to start working on our next big project. He will be there recording another band already and figured why not just turn it into a tour where we release a new single on the way! As part of our collaboration efforts and in the spirit of evolving our music, we want to start incorporating more instruments like synthesizers, pianos, and violins, depending on what the song calls for. We also want to start experimenting with mixing genres to really give our fans something they've never heard before. Instagram Facebook
