- Get Ready To Be Sent Through An Ethereal Rabbit Hole With Ero Seagull’s New Single
Greek-Canadian artist Ero Seagull was introduced to music by playing the piano at age six. After finishing school, she decided to hone her creative talents with a degree at the prestigious Bretton Hall University in Leeds, studying Theatre studies/Dramaturgy. It was there when Ero Seagull started writing her own music and met Leon Rhymes (Too Many T's), who told her of The Peoples Music Awards in London, where she entered and won the judges' round in the Off The Beaten Track category with one judge stating, "She's a category of her own." So she played at the prestigious Scala Venue in London. As we transport ourselves into Ero's musical universe's eclectic and desirable essence, we're gifted with the sonic mirage "You Send Me." A collaboration with up-and-comers in the industry, Aimilia Mhlou and the Japanese band AINAKANNA, the ethereal ambiance that's emanated is truly otherworldly as listeners can expect to be catapulted into the creative minds of these emerging artists. The use of vocal effects sends us to the oblivion of reverberated croons that take on a melodic structure at some points but a more spoken-out rap style at others. As we sway through the mind-bending atmosphere of "You Send Me," one thing remains consistent: the passionate energy injected into this record. The samples bring a nostalgic feel as the production elements convey much of the power. Blended with the abstract nature of lyrical motifs like, "I don't know if I'm afraid to stay on my own. One thing I know for sure, losing you is a loss. When in flesh we roll in such a flow. Ι look into your eyes you gaze into awe," the narrative of this record entices us with a flood of free-flowing memories custom to each listener's perspective. The multilingual collaboration offers such a refreshing take on the genre-defying world that it's impossible not to get roped into "You Send Me." Ero Seagull promotes the beauty within the interpretation by pushing the envelope and encouraging listeners to explore the depths of their minds. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Ero Seagull! We're thrilled to dive into your latest record sincerely, "You Send Me." With such poignant energy coming from this song, what moment or story inspired the creation of this song? First of all, thank you for having me! I'm a big fan of yours! We wrote this song as a special tribute to our parents, who have never received the credit they deserve in pieces. It's a way to honor and appreciate them. I wrote my part for my mother, with whom I have a powerful bond, and I consider her my angel on earth. Aimilia wrote her part as a heartfelt tribute to her late father and dedicated it to his loving memory. As for AINAKANNA, according to what my Japanese friend Sachiko Takahashi told me, it sounds like a Haiku poem. This song was first presented at the KANSAI MUSIC CONFERENCE in Japan, which is quite the accolade. How has the reception been from an international standpoint? KANSAI MUSIC CONFERENCE was an experience on its own. It was really well received! I needed to participate in KMC, where I had the honor of being the final act. KMC is developing and fostering a global community of artists, fans, and industry to introduce music and culture to Japan and beyond. This event was such an opportunity to collaborate with AINAKANNA because, through this occasion, we created "You Send Me," it was a significant moment for my music career. Let's discuss how magnificent you, Aimilia Mhlou, and AINAKANNA sound on this track together. Your styles collide effortlessly! How did this collaboration come to be, and what did the creative process look like when bringing life to "You Send Me"? In 2004 I created a mashup with songs that included Sam Cooke's track "You Send Me." During a discussion with my producer FatData, he proposed turning this sample into a piece. He and then the producer Bhukhurah created the mix of our music "You Send Me," Dimitris from Electricity Sound Studio did the finalization. Now, regarding my collaboration with AINAKANNA and Aimilia Mhlou, we built bridges with our music via the wonders of technology. We live in a new age of global music, where artists from diverse cultures and backgrounds connect and collaborate. We were in different spaces, and music was joining us. This era has witnessed the world becoming more interconnected, allowing musicians to transcend geographical boundaries and bring unique flavors to the global music scene. From multiple releases to international attention, what has been your proudest moment in your career thus far? There are many beautiful moments in my career, but the one that has defined me was at The Peoples Music Awards when I gave my first gig at the Scala venue in London. There was a profound revelation within me that pursuing music is my true passion and what I want to do with my life. The energy and excitement of the moment reaffirmed my dedication to a musical career. I write poetry and have also written a book, "Ero and the Remembrance," but through music, you can communicate your message immediately to an audience. This has great power and impact. This is why I write music and continue with my forthcoming album, "Revolution." It is a way to communicate messages globally. What message would you like your audience to take away from "You Send Me?" Initially, I'd like to share that creating it was a fantastic journey. It's beautiful when creative ideas come to life through collaboration with talented professionals. Moments like these can shape one's life and artistic journey. Furthermore, I want to tell the audience that life is not a rehearsal. It's the actual act, and we should be present. I dedicated my part to my mother because when I was down and out during a challenging period, my mother's unwavering support and encouragement helped me recover and find my way back to life. Her love and guidance were instrumental in my journey to overcome difficulties and move forward. She and my dad uplifted me and inspired me in times of need. It's like they gave birth to me again. It's heartwarming when people who love you support you during tough times. We should be open to receiving the signals to stand together! Instagram Facebook
- Kosta Lois And Jonathan Mouton Raise The Question: Can You Really Be “Just Friends?"
If you ask people what Kosta Lois can't do, they will remain mighty silent. To sum up, the multifaceted Los Angeles creative reigns as an award-winning producer, composer, songwriter, and musician. Having grown up in a musical family with a rich international musical background, Kosta not only works behind the scenes with some of music's hottest up-and-coming artists and hit songwriters - but loves to also express himself as an artist through his timeless productions and personal record label, Onesta Music Group. Known to get the party started and drive his audience into atmospheres they didn't know they needed, Kosta Lois is an energetic ball of R&B meets dance fusion. Taking this title and running with it, "Just Friends" is the latest single his inimitable repertoire hurdles forth. The classic melodies he hones are reminiscent of the sounds of the 90s and early 2000s, all while embodying this lively energy that sits ever so gently in our souls. It just feels right when Kosta Lois is playing through the speakers. You hear just how he draws on worldly influences, and quite frankly, it's a breath of fresh air to listen to the reverberated harmonies he floats upon nostalgic instrumentation. If this track wasn't spicy enough, he has recruited vocalist and songwriter Jonathan Mouton to add to the seamless concoction of rhythm and an adorned narrative. However, it's worth adding that although Kosta Lois has a pronounced, radio-ready pop sound, there's nothing generic about the steamy lyrics and desired connection yearning from "Just Friends." When getting into the song's origin and the deeper meaning behind these intoxicating words we can't get out of our heads, Kosta says, "We sat in the studio and wrote out the song's melodies together. He then came to me with his lyrics, which he describes as following the sensual mood of the music, imagining that you wrote a journal entry about your friend revealing your love for them, and they found it." From what we've gathered from the lyrical chronicle caster Jonathan Mouton, amazing relationships may stem from solid friendships. Still, there's a blurred line when transitioning this extra mile into the physical realm of a relationship. If you want the tea served piping hot, do yourself a favor and press play on "Just Friends." Welcome to BuzzMusic, Kosta! We're thrilled to have you here chatting about your latest single, "Just Friends." With a spicy narrative and the curiosity that stems from this record, let's dive into what the creative process looked like when you and Jonathan Mouton were creating. Hey, thank you so much! Yes, well, the creative process stemmed from the music itself. Just Friends started with me putting a lot of energy into making a great instrumental track. I love dance and electronic music with many synths and keys, so I wanted to make something creative in that direction with a sexy vibe. I also like painting a visual picture with sound and inspiring a story. When Jonathan, the vocalist and co-writer, came and heard the track, much like we always do, we talked about the music and the emotions it brings out. Jonathan caught on to the sensual style of the music. He and I then collaborated on what the vocal melodies should be. I had a strong idea for the song's chorus, which he ran with, and then we bounced ideas back and forth until the rest of the vocal melodies came together. We then spoke about lyric themes in which J thought of going in the direction of a guy in love with their friend who wants to push the envelope and blur the lines into a romantic relationship. He returned to me the next day with some lyrics, which we tweaked a little, and then the rest is history! How does it feel to bring forth a song that someone else writes versus yourself? Do you have to tap deeper into any emotions or headspaces to make it come to life? Well... To expand on your question, even though I didn't write the lyrics to this one, we still collaborate in the direction the lyrics go. Remember, this song started with the music. And I have to love lyrics before putting them out and putting my stamp on them. As with any artist I work with, a great song is a great one! Even if I don't write a song at all, if I love the song, I will produce it and put it out! I always wonder about artists who aren't open to putting out HIT songs that are not theirs because you are still putting your voice or production on the songs and making them your own. And how many stories have we heard of artists who didn't want to sing someone else's song, for instance, but that song made their entire career? I didn't have to tap into anything because the music was mine; I already felt that vibe and watched the rest of a fantastic story come to life. You have a refreshing sound that taps into various genres and subgenres. How would you describe your sound for people who still need to check your music? You know what, that's an excellent question. I've not defined my sound completely; I'm trying not to put myself in a box even though I should think more about it. I always go towards what I love and what feels good. If you check out my work, you'll see that I love rhythmic pop with pristine, usually R&B-style vocals and some integrity in the song and production. That's a big reason why I named my label Onesta Music Group. "Onesta" is "Honest" in Italian. It describes my mission - to make honest music. If I'm not on a rhythmic kick, I also like to dig into other influences- piano-driven music, ballads, and jazz-inspired songs. But lately, I am pushing out chart-topping bangers for my specific artist project! As a producer working with various artists, what do you take away from each experience you encounter? Whenever I work with an artist, I learn something new and improve my work. I also want to become a better person and make the world a better place through the music we create. I've learned that any great song with the right artist is magic and that you don't have to change the artist but help make them the most excellent possible version of themselves. And I love working with artists from rock to pop to R&B, hip hop to country, poetic singer-songwriters, crooners to international singers, and everything in between. It's made me appreciate the culture of music that I'm lucky to work in daily and make my passion. What are you looking forward to before closing the year out? I'm looking forward to putting out the positive energy to meet more amazing new artists to work with! Looking for those unique acts that are out there. Kosta Lois Instagram Jonathan Mouton Instagram
- Rebecca McBride Balances Love, Life and Dreams In Her Amazing Debut Single, “Hours”
The Delaware-born, LA-based artist dazzles on her emotion-filled debut release. LA-based musician Rebecca McBride is an up-and-coming artist who has written songs that have been featured on popular shows like “Love Is Blind,” “Selling Sunset,” and “The Hype.” Originally from Delaware, her artistic talent bloomed to even greater heights during the pandemic, leading her to relocate to LA to pursue her musical dreams eventually. With a rare creative flair for songwriting and smooth vocals that flutter gracefully over instrumentals, this rising star seems destined for great things. A true artist at heart, McBride’s journey into music began at the remarkably young age of two. Nothing else, if not dedicated and true to her artistic passions, the artistic fire that inhabits her is part of why she’s been able to adapt to the industry and make her music seamlessly. Having majored in songwriting and film scoring at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, McBride’s highly honed skills ensure every release is a complete listening experience. If she can simply maintain the high standard she’s managed to hold herself to until now, the sky will truly be the limit. “Hours,” McBride’s debut single, is a bittersweet love song that tugs at the heartstrings thanks to another standout vocal performance from McBride. Produced and co-written with esteemed producers The Jam (who’s collaborated with luminaries like Becky G and H.E.R), “Hours” is a heartfelt and honest introspective reflection on the challenges of navigating dreams, adulthoods, and relationships, sometimes all at once. Overdelicate instrumentals that set the stage for McBride’s vocals to shine, lines like “What happens if I never reach my stars / This magic that we’ve got could fall apart at the seams” captivate you thanks to McBride’s tender and emotional delivery. We couldn’t imagine a better debut for this rising star. As Rebecca McBride prepares to take the music world by storm, we’ll watch for every new development. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Rebecca McBride’s debut single, “Hours,” available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Rebecca McBride! We loved "Hours"; what a fantastic debut! We had to ask where the inspiration for "Hours" came from, and when did you know it would be the song you debuted with? Thank you so much for having me! While the session was being set up, my collaborators (Mike & Jordan from The Jam) and I discussed how even though I live with my boyfriend, I never see him because we're both so busy working full-time, pursuing music, and navigating our twenties. From that conversation, Jordan came up with the line, "Would you still feel the same as you do if I can't spend all of my hours with you?" From there, "Hours" was born. A few months ago, I decided to release my first song this year and stop making excuses and allowing fear to dictate my life. Once I heard the first draft of the production, I knew "Hours" would be the song because it felt like me. Although you're just making your official musical debut, you've been involved in the art since birth! Do you have any favorite music-related memories you're especially fond of? It's hard to pick just one, but I enjoy music when it's shared. My favorite memories include performing at Carnegie Hall with my high school choir, placing 2nd at ICCA Finals with my a cappella group Upper Structure, and having my first magical co-write with my sync trio RJR. There's something so special about making music with others, especially when collaborators become friends and family. Those moments are my favorite. What do you believe is the most essential quality for an artist to have? It would be relatability, and I believe Taylor Swift is a great example. She inspired me to become an artist and songwriter because her songs were so personal. I hope that by sharing my life, listeners might relate to my music and feel understood as I did. But as I'm first jumping into artistry, I might change my mind! I still have a lot to learn. What would you want it to be if your listeners could take away one thing from your music? No one has it all figured out, and that's okay. All you can do is your best. Keep pursuing your dreams, and remember to enjoy the ride! What's next for Rebecca McBride? Can we expect to hear more new music soon? I always have new music in the pipeline! Hoping to have some more releases ready soon. Follow my socials to stay tuned for updates! Instagram Facebook

- Ride The Wave Of Marc Oliver In His Summer Hit, “Surf Song”
When it comes to versatile recording artist and singer-songwriter Marc Oliver, expect the unexpected. One could describe the San Diego-based artist's sound as R&B and alternative meets rock and pop, but one thing is consistent, he attributes his dynamic sound to the area that raised him. Fast forward to today, Oliver has toured the world playing various festivals alongside names like John Legend, Jewel, and Pat Benatar. He's been taking the music industry by storm over the past 25 years with no end in sight. Marc Oliver captures a feel-good, let-loose quintessence in the release of his latest single, "Surf Song." Simmering in an atmosphere that's equally as laidback as it is upbeat, this record speaks to Marc Oliver's storytelling capabilities. As the lush guitar riffs greet you upon pressing play, it's as if you're transported under the sun with the motion of the waves guiding you through life. It's that type of ease and effortlessness that Marc Oliver conveys as he pours his heart out into personal croons that are the utmost relatable. Keeping your body still is impossible once the tightly-knit percussion joins this summertime anthem. Tapping along to the rhythm and getting lost in the perfect summertime jam, Marc Oliver truly creates a summer anthem while not trying to be anything he isn't. Basking in all that is "Surf Song," each harmony is perfectly placed and creates a larger than life atmosphere for listeners to groove to. The immense attention to detail makes this song easy to listen to and ups its repeat factor. With the charisma of Marc Oliver shining through every word he performs and the relatability the lyrical motifs hold, "Surf Song" is an instant add to our summer in the Sun playlist. Listen to "Surf Song" out now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Marc Oliver! Your latest single, "Surf Song," makes us excited for the rest of summer and eager to head to the car and blast it with the windows down. When crafting such a vibrant anthem, what inspired the upbeat nature and feel-good attitude throughout this song? When my friend pitched a reality show about traveling surfers to an extensive network, I felt inspired to write a theme song. Fresh from a surf trip, I poured my excitement and storytelling from the journey into the music, capturing the vibes of that day. It became a fun summer package wrapped into a melody, embodying the joy of summer and the thrill of surfing adventures. How does a song like "Surf Song" compare to your previously released hit, "Outlaw?" What similarities and differences did you notice in the creative process when bringing these tracks to life? I think there has been a lot of difference between "Outlaw," "Surf Song' and even "Reach." I put Outlaw together from the production standpoint. It was something that I was driving toward from the heavily driven beat. Surf Song just came to me in a fun way to tell a story about having fun, chilling with your friends, top-down, wind-blowing, music-blasting, mid-summer fun. It came to life once we played the opening guitar riff, and then it went from there. You've achieved some significant accolades throughout your career thus far. What happens to be your proudest moment and why? Thank you. I think I have had a few. When I started my musical journey, while I was recording my first album, Avril Lavigne and I started dating. We were in the same studio in 2000, doing our first records together. Being a part of her album and her being a part of mine was pretty cool. Being the skater boy from her album, I followed her for a while, but other than that, it was cool to have started my journey there. I've had 20,000 people singing my songs back to me at huge shows, which has also been surreal. Recording songs with some of the greats. The list goes on and on. I'd share some pretty incredible stories if we were here for hours. With 25 years in the industry, you must have learned some things about yourself and your craft that keep you going. What's something your audience may not know about you that you'd like them to? Um... Well, I have two beautiful and unique daughters, 4 & 8. I surf a lot. I spearfish. I'm a classically trained pianist and play a few hours a day. I travel a bunch. I love to travel. I own two other companies. One is a Hard Seltzer brand called "Tigers Blood." What can we expect to see from you for the remainder of 2023 going into next year? I am releasing a new single every month for the next two years. I have so much finished music, so it's time to keep them rolling out. Keep a look out for the next one in three weeks!! I love music, and nothing makes me feel better than rereleasing music. - Encourage Your Mind To “Slow Up” With Noshows Funk Fueled Single
Max Satow yearns for the divine exploration of the human psyche. Finding a fascinating niche as a singer-songwriter, he fuses these discoveries with a wildly eclectic blend of hip-hop, funk, jazz, alt-rock, and his self-styled indie-hop. The NYC singer-songwriter and his popular collective Noshows' allow their music to delve deep into the mind's inner workings. The core mission is to use music to bring people together and promote collective understanding. This stands especially true through the melodies of this release, "Slow Up," which is perhaps the world's first 'feel good' single about personal struggles with anxiety. Fueled with a vibrant and unforgiving quintessence that emphasizes a bolstered tempo, there's a sense of urgency and whimsy behind the band's latest single. Constructing instrumentation so catchy you couldn't forget it if you tried, the musical foundation embeds intense grooves that transport you to a destination where you come to terms with the dwelling mental health issues many in the world face. Wrapped up in the mesmerizing compounds of "Slow Up," the lyrical motifs discuss a narrative rich in truth and finish with the velvety textures of Max Satow's honest croons. The verses are actual and instantly simmer in your mind, while the hook is anthemic and makes you want to scream it from the rooftops. It breathes with the perfect post-pandemic advice for coping with stress and being okay with the hand you were dealt. Max Satow proudly says, "The song 'Slow Up' encourages intentionally slowing down when life becomes too fast-paced. I've realized how crucial it is to step back and evaluate my well-being since it significantly impacts my mental state. The chorus is a good reminder that it's okay to pause and chill out for a minute. Maybe we all need to slow down and give ourselves a break. In doing so, we can tackle challenges with more energy and clarity of mind." Recruiting the artistic stylings of femme-lyricist and L.A.'s own AUD, we're graciously opened up to a feature that implodes upon impact with the power of self. Her high-octane rap simmers with glimmers of a wild and daring persona which come off unapologetic as she rapidly fires off rhymes from the heart. The quickly emerging talents of AUD make sense on this track, and the sonic contrasts throughout "Slow Up" get us genuinely excited about where music is headed again. Written and produced by Satow, the edgy, trippy, infectiously funky track is now available on all platforms - and we're glad it is. Noshows can now help their audience going through the same struggles as they find moments of hope they can relate to. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Noshows! Congratulations on the release of the sincere “Slow Up.” In this day and age, it can be easy to fester in the negativity our mental health issues bring us, but your lighthearted twist makes us feel joyful with the mark it’s leaving. What inspired you to take this approach to the song? As an anxious person, I tend to look for music that relays a message I either relate to or calms me down and provides reassurance. I wanted to create a song that did both, so I tried to relay my feelings towards my anxiety while letting fans who suffer similarly know that you don’t always have to travel at the same speed in this fast-paced world. It’s something I have to remind myself every day! Knowing that, did the lyrics or instrumentation come first? When you create music, do you prefer the sequence you create in, or does anything fly during the creative process? Instrumentation came first! I started by making a beat that happened to be super upbeat and had feel-good vibes. After coming up with some melodies I felt were catchy, I felt this type of message would suit the track perfectly. I usually approach songs with a solid beat that creates energy, then add Melodies, and finally top it with lyrics that match the atmosphere. What was it like collaborating with hip-hop artist and multi-instrumentalist AUD to bring a dynamic take to this record? How did you come to connect? We never actually met face-to-face while the song was being recorded and written. AUD Was recommended to me through Seth von Paulus, who does all my latest mixes. I sent her the track, and she quickly returned with a verse that suited the song perfectly. This may be more of a vulnerable question, but, Max, we know certain hardships have taken you to a place where you wish better on the world and seek change through your mental health advocacy. What can you tell us about your mental health hub, Magnify the Mind? How can your audience learn more about this resource and be involved? Magnify the Mind is a community I created to help people navigate anxiety through music and pop-up events. It’s mission is to create safe spaces and raise awareness about mental health. Artists are effected heavily by mental health issues. I’ve had my own personal struggles with it and especially with a career as unorthodox as being an artist, it’s easy to feel lost. My goal with Magnify the Mind is to create a supportive and creative culture where people are welcomed to be exactly who they are and cultivate friendships through music and art. For those who like to become more involved there’s instagram for the page @magnifythemind that you can follow for updates. In the near future we will be hosting our first pop-up event, showcasing creatives from the NYC area. Partial proceeds from events and any Magnify the Mind merch sold go directly to the Jed Foundation, which aids in mental health struggles among young adults. What’s next for you? I hope to continuously build my community through my music as Noshows and Magnify the Mind. I also look forward to writing and releasing some new music soon and continuing to perform. Instagram
- Carly Hanley’s “Ooh La La” Is An Elegant, Yet Irresistibly Groovy And Romantic Tribute To Love
Born in the vibrant city of Chicago before moving to the scenic town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Carly Hanley has captivated audiences everywhere with her enchanting and elegant vocals and ear for catchy melodies. Driven by her desire to make music that connects with listeners more emotionally, she’s continuously refined her abilities to push her music to even greater levels. With her highly anticipated album “Ruby” due for release this fall, this rising star is currently at the top of her game. Growing up in Steamboat Springs brought both blessings and challenges for Hanley. As a youth, she would find herself torn between the great outdoors available in Steamboat Strings and the big city possibilities of her birth city. While her contemporaries sought solace in nature, Hanley would instead discover her passion for writing and performing music, nurturing the seeds of creativity within her. After returning to her Colorado hometown in 2020 to be close to her family, she released her EP “Radiant,” re-lighting the embers of her creative ability and renewing her inspiration. Relaxed, elegant, and classy, Hanley’s latest release, “Ooh La La,” is a spunky yet groovy offering that’ll have you dancing in no time. Hanley’s alluring vocals are on full display, and lines like “I know you’ve run around before / We’re better off as something more” are delivered with a subtle sensualness that sends shivers down your spine. Hanley sounds like she hasn’t missed a beat since her return, and with her current momentum, it would be a crime to not see this talented artist shoot for the stars. Carly Hanley’s music is driven by her deep desire to connect with people and make sure there’s a little something in her music for everyone. With “Ooh La La,” Hanley continues her impressive streak of catchy releases, and “Ruby” is sure to be an exquisite project. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Carly Hanley’s new release, “Ooh La La,” available now on all major streaming platforms, and also keep an eye out for her upcoming album “Ruby,” slated for release this fall. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Carly Hanley! We loved your release “Ooh La La”; it felt so deliciously classy and danced simultaneously! We had to ask, what was the creative process like for this song? How did you first visualize it? During the last week of recording, my producer, Jayson Kramer, came to the studio with this big horn instrumental track that captured a sound we had been working to find - elegant, classic, spicy. I instantly started seeing red lipstick, sparkles, fancy drinks at a lounge, and a vintage bathtub. I took the instrumental home and had one day to write lyrics based on our recording schedule. So I went for a walk downtown, in Chicago, and found myself in alleyways with old fire escapes and beautiful murals and then came home, took a candle-lit bubble bath with Aretha Franklin playing, and started to write. The words “gentlemen” and “Ooh La La” came to me, and the story flowed quickly. What inspired you to start making music growing up, and what inspires you to keep making it now? I’ve always had an overwhelming desire to connect with people. I grew up in a small mountain town, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and while others around me found their joy in the outdoors, I embraced every opportunity to perform or was tucked away writing music. As the youngest of four, my siblings introduced me to artists via mixed CDs, and my parents had a substantial vinyl collection. Music was always playing in our home from all corners of the house. I think the influence of so many genres inspired me to explore what I could create myself. There wasn’t a specific moment I remember sitting down to write for the first time; it always happened organically. You mentioned you’ve always felt torn between your hometown of Steamboat Springs and your birth city of Chicago. As two remarkably different places, how have they influenced your growth as an artist? The differences between these two places have vastly contributed to the versatility of my music. The combination of inspiration from nature and the city has resulted in a unique sound and writing style that I always surprise myself with and am grateful for. I have found great clarity through nature when I’m combatting inner fearful thoughts and working to quiet my hectic mind. My EP Radiant and song River showcase that experience. When I moved to Chicago, I gained a deeper understanding of a different part of myself - I loved being a little extra, over-the-top, and a little more confident than before. Ooh La La, and every track from my upcoming album Ruby, represents the empowered version of me. What goals do you want to achieve through your music, and if your listeners could take one thing away from your music, what would you want it to be? As I write, I open myself to whatever seems to flow through me. It feels like I am working to connect to a listener, and often, I ask myself, “What do they need to hear?” I try to live in a meditative, open-heart, and open-mind state of listening, observing, and gathering inspiration so that when I sit down to write, the messages flow through me and onto paper. I hope my music creates a feeling of ease, connection, shared experience, and, most importantly, a reminder that we’re not alone. What’s next for Carly Hanley? - Big Venti’s “By the Way” Brings A Fusion Of Electro, Hip-Hop, And R&B Genius
The LA artist pulls out all stops on this captivating new release. Big Venti is a rising star in the industry based in LA. Known for his mastery of slick trap rhythms, infectious synth melodies, and an unforgettable vocal flair, he's made waves with his rare ability to skillfully blend the best elements of EDM, Hip Hop, and pop. Through his hard work and creative talents, he has forged a distinctive and captivating sound that blurs the boundaries between genres, delivering an exhilarating listening experience that leaves a lasting impression on listeners. Having already put himself on the map with his highly acclaimed debut album "Party Hills," Venti's hot streak continues with his new album "By The Way," seemingly sure to follow up his earlier success as he continues to push his artistry to greater heights. "By The Way" is, in many ways, a celebration of the artist and person Venti has become. A captivating album in every sense of the word, Venti pushes his signature blend of pop, hip-hop, and R&B to even greater levels, wrapping each track in melodic electro production that pulses with rhythm and allure. The journey begins with the titular track, "By the Way," serving as an introduction to something that feels great and exciting. The vocal and instrumental performance set the exuberant yet also humble base for the good things to come, and it feels like "By The Way" is brimming with endless possibilities. Venti's upbeat production and grateful and self-conscious lyrics keep the good times rolling on releases like the standout second track, "Sunset Strip," and the fourth track, "Coachella." Venti's on cloud nine, keeping the vibes high as he drops bars like "On the sunset strip, went so hard for a life like this" and "Take it too slow, let's seize the day." Although a sense of gratitude permeates "By The Way," that's not to say Venti doesn't switch it up. The mood takes a more muted turn on tracks like "They Don't Know," but the sonic love remains strong. Venti's enticing vocals blend seamlessly with mellow instrumentals, creating a relaxing yet groovy experience that captivates the soul. Releases like "Stitches" showcase Venti's grittier side, infusing the album with a little edge. Although the instrumentals remain upbeat, Venti makes it clear that he won't let anyone step over him anymore, delivering a powerful and assertive message with lyrics like "My heart has been full of stitches/round here don't make no wishes" and Don't try to hold me down keep coming up / no disrespect I'm falling out." For fans of more traditional edm sounds, "By The Way" concludes with two releases that inch closer to a more conventional tech-house sound on "Utopia" and a club remix of "By The Way." Once again, Venti's versatility shines through, navigating the expansive soundscapes of "Utopia" before the club remix of "By The Way" transforms the emphatic opener into a tech-house spectacle tailor-made for liberating dancefloors. It's a brilliant finish that leaves listeners yearning for more. "By The Way" celebrates how far Big Venti has come, a testament to his dedication and hard work. Venti's dual prowess is on full display as a singer and producer, delivering crisp production and spellbinding vocals with every release. With "By The Way," Venti invites us into his world, painting vivid soundscapes of sun-kissed horizons and starlit night skies. It's only right that an album by someone whose name stands for "Visualize Everything Now Till Infinity" feels like a gateway to infinite possibilities. Whenever you're ready, tap in and stream Big Venti's new album, "By The Way," available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Big Venti! Wow. What an album; from the time we heard “Sunset Strip,” we knew you had good things coming. We wanted to ask, what was the favorite part of bringing the vision for “By The Way” to life? My favorite part of bringing the vision for “By The Way” to life was entering a brand new genre as an artist. I felt like I had a blank canvas to paint on and was in complete discovery mode while recording. This is the first time I sing on an album more than I rap! It’s all about challenging yourself while creating. I also loved watching the sun go down (and up) during my studio sessions in DTLA. I pulled many all-nighters to bring “By The Way” to completion! What’s your favorite song from “By The Way,” and why is it your favorite? My favorite song from “By The Way” would have to be Coachella. I probably love nothing in the world more than going to Coachella. It’s the only event that gives me FOMO if I don’t attend. I watched Calvin Harris perform at this year’s festival with my friends. We legit sang along to every word together. It was such a warm feeling bonding with the people I love the most, so I decided to put that special moment into a song…and Coachella was born! What was the inspiration behind this album? How did you decide on the artistic direction you wanted to go in? I was inspired by listening to the sounds of my EDM Mount Rushmore: Avicii, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, and Kygo. I channeled their styles in my artistic direction for this album. What does music mean to you, and do you have any advice for anyone trying to follow in your footsteps? To me, music is LIFE. I can’t go a day without it. I can’t go an hour without thinking about it. To anyone trying to follow in my footsteps, I advise creating with no boundaries. You never know where your creativity will lead you! What’s next for Big Venti? Do you have any more plans for “By The Way,” and is there anything you want to say to your fans? “By The Way” debuted at Number 1 on the iTunes Dance Chart. That’s a first for me, and it’s looking like my most successful project to date. Although the album just dropped, I believe it will live a long life and will be played internationally. What’s most exciting is the thought of all the big-name DJs remixing the songs. I can’t wait for that! To my incredible fans, thank you for joining me in every twist and turn in my musical journey! This (number) one’s for you! Instagram
- Chatting With Heidi Hirvonen And Going Deeper Into “This Messy Life (The Drug Song)"
Welcome to BuzzMusic, Heidi Hirvonen! We loved your new release, "This Messy Life (The Drug Song)" What a beautiful piece to choose for your debut! What was the inspiration behind this song? Could you take us through your creative process for this release? Thanks! I wrote this song in my mid-twenties while trying to understand what adulthood was supposed to look and feel like. I was in my first "real" job after graduating from college, living with my partner in a little duplex in Oakland, and time felt like it was flying by, but also, it felt like nothing was happening. Life was good, but I also wasn't happy all the time. The days would go by, and then, suddenly, Christmas would roll around again, and with it, the winter blues. The song is about realizing you can't be happy all the time. These happy little moments come around, and we try to hold onto them as long as we can, but that's all we can do. There's no magic "drug" that can make you happy all the time. This song was a way for me to process that realization as a young adult. Regarding my creative process – I write all my songs on a keyboard on the floor. It's bizarre. I sit cross-legged in front of the keyboard and use my knee to hit the sustain pedal. I've tried an actual setup, but I always move all my equipment to the floor. I'll usually write a song in one sitting, maybe two. And then I make tweaks later to tighten up the story. But usually, everything spills out at once. You mentioned hesitating to get into music professionally for a while. What changed and inspired you to start making music? My hesitation to get into music came from observing my dad's life as a musician when I was growing up. He had a very successful music career early on in Finland but struggled with alcoholism. He was then diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which meant he fluctuated between bouts of mania and depression. My parents divorced when I was tiny, but I still spent a lot of time with my dad on weekends, tagging along to his gigs. Observing his life as I was growing up, I learned to associate music with a dash of mental and financial instability. It wasn't until about seven years ago when my dad got sober that we could unpack this and rebuild our relationship (and, with it, my relationship with music). What goals do you want to achieve through your music? In my music, I try to evoke emotions that resonate with people but might be hard to articulate – emotions we might shy away from. Songwriting can be like therapy for me, and that's a goal of mine: to process my big feelings. But the ultimate goal is to create something that makes someone else think, "That resonates," giving them a few minutes to feel and experience those emotions while listening to my song. What kind of music do you see yourself making, and how would you describe your music to someone who hasn't heard it before? A wide array informs my music of artists, from Sara Bareilles to Charli XCX. It is lyrically driven and vulnerable pop. Something you might listen to while you're washing dishes and having a good cry, but then again 20 minutes later to pump yourself up when driving down the highway on your way to the gym. What's next for Heidi Hirvonen? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you want to say to your fans? What's next? More music! I'm working on an EP. Stay tuned! To the fans: it's getting hot out there – keep spinning. Instagram
