- Remember You’re Not A “Castaway,” In This Life With Letchen Grey’s Thought-Provoking Single
Energetic and powering through the rock scene easily, Letchen Grey has returned with yet another emotion-evoking single titled "Castaway." The heavy-hitting sounds are led by members Mark Andersen (rhythm guitar), Tony Ross (drums), Bradley Mangrum (vocals), and Jeff Rey (bass), as this new sound they embody is fueled by the influence of songs from the '70s and '80s, with strong hooks and memorable guitar riffs. Taking our attention to “Castaway,” we’re immediately pulled into the impeding emotion with a medley of sustained rummaging through the guitar riffs and tight-knit drum patterns that leap through the speakers. Incorporating a vast number of components that allow the introduction of this record to provoke thought, it’s clear that Letchen Grey is gunning for a message that leaves an impact. Lathered into the punchy grooves, we have Bradley Mangrum’s raspy vocals, delivered effortlessly, yet simultaneously, he manages to convey each word with conviction. “Castaway” emanates a message that focuses on escaping all we go through in life and being okay with ourselves as who we are. Giving the intoxicating melody a title like “Castaway,” the spin on this has our mind identifying with the poignant wording all too well. In life, it’s easy to label someone doing something for themselves as an outcast. Collaborating alongside Eric Asevo, Alan Niven – formerly from Guns n Roses and Great White – as well as manager and Mark Andersen, to write the witty concept portrayed, Letchen Grey has a knack for taking us to a world beyond our front door as we find solitude in the musical offerings that this adaptive rock quartet continues to convey. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Letchen Grey! We loved escaping in the sounds of your latest record, “Castaway.” With such a witty concept for a song that delves into a myriad of emotions, how close do you find a subject like this to your heart as the years go on? We are a Southern California Band. I grew up in a seaside town overlooking Catalina. I have been crossing this ocean channel to get to the island for as long as I can remember, and this natural setting inspired the rhythmic groove of Castaway. Lyrically I connect with the song because it inspires the listener to be okay with themselves, even if they’re alone, like a Castaway. I’m a big fan of Rock music. Still, we recognize that Reggae is the sound of positive vibration, and Bob Marley was a master of simple expressions of positivity - Lively Up Y'Self. Stir It Up, Get Up Stand Up, No Woman No Cry, One Love - so the desire was to contribute in some small way to that tradition. We don't hear The Wailers enough on American radio, and Marley occupied the street that ran between rock and punk - personifying the spirit of one and the credibility of the other. We just wanted to saunter down that street too. This is a follow-up to the very well-received single "Burn.” How would you say the two express who Letchen Grey is as a whole while standing apart from one another? Both songs have a really good groove and unique structure but are relatable to the listener. For example, Castaway doesn’t have a traditional chorus, but you only have to listen to the song once to remember the title and hopefully relate to the song's story. As for “standing apart from one another,” Burn is a knockdown, drag-out Rock song, and Castaway has a Reggae feel. This shows the band doesn’t have a “Niche” mentality. Could you please shine a light on what the creative process looked like for you when working with Alan Niven and Chris Catero on the production component? Has this been a collaboration you’ve embarked on in the past? Alan Niven is an extremely creative, intelligent, compassionate, and experienced man. He helped us express ourselves in ways we could not have done without his wisdom and guidance. Alan is very good at interpreting what we, as musicians, try to convey and takes things to a different level. He has many strengths as a producer, but his biggest talent is his ability to connect lyrically with listeners and how he provides vocal guidance. Chris is a talented musician with a lot of recording knowledge. He knows all the tricks when it comes to technology. Chris was good at helping us with arrangements and getting the best performance out of us during the recording session. They are cool people, and we can’t wait to record with them again. We love that you put together an official visualizer for this release. To whom do we owe this creative direction, and was it easy to develop this idea? Chris Catero and I discussed a few more elaborate ideas, but in the end, we decided on a visualizer instead of a performance clip or a video with a script. So, Chris was the creative force behind the video. If your listeners are struggling to find happiness within themselves, what words of encouragement do you have to offer them? Life is full of disappointments, but life also gives us many moments to be grateful. Appreciating even the smallest events provides encouragement, which can lead to internal happiness. Remember, “You’ve got this.” In closing, we appreciate everyone interested in our music, and we hope to give them more soon. Instagram Facebook
- A Conversation With Brainheart
Independent music producer, DJ, and songwriter Brainheart teams up with the stunning vocal stylings of Dorel for their recent 6-track EP entitled The Strange Kids. Born Roi Zohar, Brainheart started playing piano at 15 and never looked back. Having struggled in the school system, music started as a way to distract himself from school struggles but quickly became much more than that. His electronic creations know no bounds—from dance music to cinematic future house and pop productions, Brainheart does it all. His latest body of work, The Strange Kids, alongside vocalist Dorel, is a true treat for the ears, mind, and heart. The EP's intro track, "A Strange Kid," greets the ears with soft acoustic guitar strumming and Dorel's smooth yet powerful vocals. While expressing his woes and thoughts of wanting to be somebody, Brainheart picks up the vibe with his emotional and well-rounded downtempo pop/r&b production that soothes the soul. It's a fierce intro track that kicks off the project with a gripping and relatable anthem. On track number two, "Keep Me From Falling Apart," Brainheart slows things down with a melancholy and reverbed electric guitar alongside Dorel's comforting vocal tones. As the production begins escalating with crunchy guitars and driving drums, Brainheart leads us to the chilling drop featuring Dorel's dreamy vocals and stunning synths that feel like a blanket of warmth. This vulnerable and relatable song is sure to hit you in the feels. The third track, "Keep Me From Falling Apart - Acoustic Version," takes us through the previous song but with Brainheart's cinematic acoustic rendition. The melancholy strings and tender piano melodies perfectly enhance Dorel's moving lyrics of reaching out to a lover when in times of need. It's an emotional and meaningful track that will surely stand the test of time. Reaching the fourth track, "A Better World," we drift into this mystical and soothingly euphoric soundscape with Dorel's velvety vocals and Brainheart's airy background pads. As Brainheart starts ramping up the anticipation, Dorel urges us to change the world we live in and seek a better tomorrow. In doing so, Brainheart pumps up the party with thrilling progressive house synths that take us back to our glory days of stomping around festival grounds. This EP has been nothing short of inspiring, and the fifth track is a perfect representation. "Set Your Goals High" begins with Dorel's dreamy vocals and empowering lyrics that encourage us to believe in ourselves, while Brainheart gradually leads us to the innovative future house beat drop loaded with stunning synth arrangements and attention-grabbing transitions. This is by far our favorite song on the project—take a listen and find out why. Landing on the EP's sixth and final track, "Set Your Goals High - Acoustic Version," Brainheart melts our speakers with his cinematic acoustic instrumentals and Dorel's achingly emotional yet empowering vocals. This acoustic version adds an intense layer of depth and meaning to this song, and it's equally as compelling as the original. It's a beautiful piece that closes the EP on a profoundly emotional yet inspirational note. Do yourself a favor and explore the moving musical world of Brainheart's latest EP alongside Dorel, The Strange Kids, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Brainheart. You've truly moved us with the emotional and skilled compositions in your recent EP with Dorel, The Strange Kids. What inspired you to create this dynamic project? I am so glad you love my new EP with Dorel. Dorel and I are close friends; he is the best singer I know. First, we decided to create just one song together. The process was so fun, and we were so happy with the result, so we decided to create a full EP together. This EP means a lot to us; we created these songs from the depth of our souls. How would you describe your music to new listeners? How has your sound evolved over the years? Honestly, I can't define my music by genre because I always love to experiment with different sounds and styles of music. I produce mainly EDM, but I love pop, soft-rock, and acoustic songs. What I can tell is that my goal is to create a versatile and interesting catalog. I don't want to create repetitive music with the same sounds and structure. In the past, I always created EDM, but now I am more open-minded to try different things, techniques, and genres. I want to surprise myself and my listeners by taking them on an interesting musical journey. I do my best to create emotional music and interesting melodies with strong and meaningful lyrics. In my opinion, we all experience pain, depression, anxiety, trauma, and so many different kinds of pain that might not be visible to anyone else. I believe that my songs speak to people, heal them, and can make them feel better and motivated. We've noticed that your track "Explore The World" with your sister recently went viral and landed over 460,000 reels. What does this song mean to you, and what was your experience creating it with your sister? Yes, this song holds such a special place in my heart. It means the world to me, especially because I wrote it with my amazing and talented sister. It was a pleasure working with her; the process was fun and happened naturally. This is the first song I have ever released, and I never expected it to be huge. The song started to take off only a year after I released it. People started using it on their Instagram videos, and it went viral. I never thought that my debut song would go viral! This song touches so many people, and I am extremely grateful for that. It’s been a cool thing to see the message in the song have such a profound impact on people. I was in such a strange place in life when this song came out. The success of this song gave me confidence. It made me believe I am good enough and that I must continue no matter what. Is The Strange Kids your first EP? What made you create a multi-track project after releasing music for a few years? Yes, this is my first EP. I wanted to make a piece that contains four songs (+2 acoustic versions) that tells the story of the strange kids. Dorel and I are not normal; we are outsiders. We think we are strange but unique, so we decided to spill our hearts and tell our stories as musicians and human beings. Dorel is like a brother to me, and I am so happy that I created my debut Ep with him. What was your greatest accomplishment in 2022? What are you hoping to continue as we head into 2023? The greatest accomplishment for me is to be able to make music every day, grow my fanbase and evoke emotion from people from all around the world. A lot of people reference that 10,000-hour rule to be good at something. Nobody mentions how those hours can be boring, repetitive, and exhausting waiting to see signs of progress, so I am proud of myself that I didn't give up on my dreams and kept going even though this year was challenging mentally and emotionally. I always remind myself that every day I get out of bed excited to do those things I’m passionate about, and I have all the time in the world for them. The goal for 2023 is to get an artist visa; I really want to move to the US. I believe that I will have many more opportunities there to develop my music career. Unfortunately, it’s very complicated, but I believe that one day I’ll get it. I will keep making music and touching people’s hearts and souls. I want to keep growing my socials and fanbase. I want to evolve and become a better version of myself – as a musician and as a person. Instagram Facebook
- SUN Shows Us That The Lifestyles Of The Rich Can Turn On A Dime In, "John & I (Money)"
Franco-German artist SUN is known for her sound in a unique pop music genre mixed with metal. Brutal Pop has garnered mass appeal, and there’s no doubt about it – SUN is making waves with her boisterous energy. Her freshly released single "John & I (Money)" paints the multifaceted singer-songwriter, guitarist, and actress in a sassy new light. Recorded in France at Studio Blackbox, this cynical rock anthem was produced by SUN and manager Bassem Ajaltouni. Commencing with colossal percussion and resonant guitar riffs, a spellbinding influence resides heavily in “John & I (Money).” As soon as we’re introduced to the prominence projected in SUN’s feisty cascades, the ante is upped, and you’re left hanging on to each word she conveys. Intriguing us with her charming candor and enticing demeanor, SUN has the power to make us feel one way with her pop-like vocal delivery through the verses while performing contemptuous lyrical motifs that take you on a whole other journey. As the instrumentation has the anticipation rising, we’re brought into a full-fledged energy cyclone that spins you into a hard-hitting chorus that plays into metal-core tendencies. Telling a tale about the twisted relationship of a rich couple from the woman’s point of view, you’re met with ruthless honesty as she taps into an alter ego that unleashes pent-up energy in a manic way. SUN has a knack for getting down to the nitty gritty and getting her microphone dirty in the boisterous sound we adore. Painting vivid imagery that has you whisked away to her destination of choice, SUN even said, “I imagined a rich housewife losing it in her mansion. There is no love between her and John. It's all pretending, and her teenage daughter Amberleen already hates her guts and can't wait to get out of there.” If that doesn’t fit the vigor emitted, then we don’t know what does. “John & I (Money)” is out now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, SUN! Congratulations on the release of your latest single. Your creativity stands out when we dive into “John & I (Money).” What inspired this fictitious tale that you brought to us in song form? Thank You so much! Bad love stories inspire John and me (Money). Meryl Streep in “death becomes her” inspired me a lot for this particular song. In the movie, she embodies a rich, sociopathic housewife in distress who completely loses it. I’ve always been fascinated by people who stay in their golden cages and self-destruct in them. John & I (Money) is the meltdown of a fictional Madeline Ashton. Could you please highlight the creative process of bringing this song to life? I wrote John and I (Money) when I was going through difficult moments in my family. It’s difficult to navigate with destructive and toxic family members, and I had notebooks filled with teenage rage waiting to become a song. I had written the main riff in my high school years but had forgotten about it …until I saw “death becomes her” one night! Everything just spilled out of me. “John & I (Money)” has us exploring the opposites of two genres you manage to make sound so virtuous together. How did you come to develop this unique sound? Since I was thirteen years old, I’ve been obsessed with this term: Brutal Pop. While living between the Black Forest and Paris, I was very lonely, which gave me plenty of time to get obsessed with music and songwriting. I wanted to merge the beautiful song structures and harmonies of masters like the Beatles or Abba with the emotional rawness and brutality of a Slipknot or a Gojira tune. Sometimes belting out a high note just doesn’t get the right intensity across (even when singing about love). So I worked screams and metal guitar action into my songs. Artists like Hole or - even if they are very different - Devin Townsend have also inspired me to create my “Brutal Pop.” As a touring artist, you’ve been extremely busy as of late! What can you tell us about your life on the road, and have you had a chance to play this new track for your audience? I’ve been so lucky to have been able to tour again since Lockdown. With my two mystery men, we’ve been touring Asia (Japan, Laos), Scandinavia, and Europe (France, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, and Portugal…). I have never been as happy as I am now, back on the road, headbanging! People from the audience often asked me about John & I (Money) at the end of shows, and I would hear people walking out of venues humming, “money, money, money.” The audience made me choose John & I (Money) as a second single! I cherish their opinion a lot! I love to give them what they want. What’s next for you? I am excited to release my second EP, “BRUTAL POP 2,” on Friday, 13th January 2023. John & I (Money) will be on there, and four other songs that I’m very proud of! It is the first time I produced the whole thing myself, but I’m so glad I worked with genius mixers like Andrew Scheps. Then We go on tour to promote the EP starting in February! Germany, Denmark, and I have a very active Latino Audience, so that I will come to Brazil in the spring! The US is next on my list! I have more to announce very soon! Instagram Facebook

J-Movelle *Lil J2* is one to be on the lookout for, and he shouldn’t be hard to miss with an unmatched sound and huge smile. Welcome to BuzzMusic, J-Movelle. It’s great to have you here chatting about your debut record, “STAR.” With this being the first time that you’ve stepped into a musical role, what inspired you to make this move? I love music; I have been listening to music since my mother's womb. My mom said she, my big brother, and my sister would sing to me and talk to me every day while she was pregnant with me. Also, because my dad is a musician, he plays the keys and drums and sings. My grandmom & great-grandmom were amazing musicians, and my great-grandma was a singer. So I was born to do this. Both you and Eturnul have great chemistry, which can be heard in your song! What was it like working with her to create this song? How did the collaboration come to be? Well, in this song, I created the melody and the baseline with my mouth. Then we sent the idea to my producer Steve White AKA Steve OG, and Steve Vicious. They sampled my voice and Melody in the track and created the beat exactly as I did with my mouth. At that time, I didn't want to rap the whole song. I just wanted to do the hook, so I talked my mom (Eturnul) into doing the verses, and she wrote the verses for my big brother Fredrick. He helped me with my hook, and of course, Eturnul critiqued it. I love sports, so we went with the direction of sports, and the rest was history. Eturnul and I have a natural connection on stage, sometimes we cannot even rehearse, but the performance is perfect. We know how to read each other and vibe. That's how I came together. Our connection is just natural and authentic. Being as busy as you are with the motivation and entertainment industry, what makes you the happiest when you’re hard at work? What makes me the happiest is inspiring people in our community, doing music, and being able to put a smile on people's faces when I hit the stage. What words of encouragement do you have for your audience that may be looking for some extra motivation in life? To be your first supporter, believe in yourself, and never believe the negative things that people say about you. No matter where you are today, tomorrow could completely change, dream big and believe and know that you are great. Words of J-Movelle. What’s next for you? We just dropped the Star music video, and we are working on two projects at the time, hoping touring schools in 2023 and also launch my YouTube channel. We will be traveling, eating food, cooking food, and doing challenges. Stay connected with me @JMovelle on all social media platforms. Instagram TikTok
- Bask In The Roots Of Hip-Hop With Jermaine Robinson’s “Rap Sinatra”
Born and raised in East Point, GA, rapper/producer Jermaine Robinson’s songs are specifically driven by two motives. The first is to challenge whatever’s collectively accepted in the effort of progression, and the second is to shine an unapologetic light on the complexities of the human experience. With his music influences being from the likes of Outkast, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Wayne, Jermain Robinson pulls inspiration from these sounds, all while emerging with an energy that is dynamic and layered, reflective of who he is. Switching from jazzy boom-bap chills to fiery trap anthems, he has always found himself being caught in the grey area, and it seamlessly blends into the sonics and themes of his music. With Jermaine Robinson’s latest single, “Rap Sinatra,” we’re transported to the roots of Hip-hop as his old-school styling fuels our speakers. Commencing this record with an empowering monologue on growth and its importance, you’re met with chills before the song has a chance to kick off. Leaving it all on the table, Jermain Robinson performs with tenacity and effervescence. His lyrical motifs fit the essence of a true emcee, and we’re thrilled to hear this refreshing performance deliver cold hard facts as we zone into the substance. Jermain Robinson’s bolstered persona is heard through every word penned as we’re taken on a journey of storytelling – the Jermaine Robinson way. Although he makes it look effortless, each meticulous lyric has a vast amount of thought placed into it. As you take in each scripted word, his witty candor has you feeling satisfied throughout your listening experience. An inspiring nature is exactly what “Rap Sinatra” brings to life. As you hear the verses rapped from such an organic place of emotion, the contrast between the chorus and verse is outstanding. Belting out the lyrics as the female feature portrays poignant cascades rich in boldness, the well-roundedness of this track is undeniable. Topped off with production that’s left in the hands of Jermaine Robinson, the instrumentation hits home as his producer's ear makes it, so there are peaks and valleys to tune into as the musical components brilliantly collide. Learning to find the peace in being indescribable, Jermaine Robinson offers up authenticity that can be heard throughout his music. Listen to “Rap Sinatra” today to hear for yourself. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jermaine Robinson! We’re thrilled to have been taken on the sonic journey of “Rap Sinatra.” Your words truly leave quite an impact on listeners. What was it like coming up with the lyrical content heard in this record? Hey, thank you so much for having me and for taking the time to speak with me! Yeah, coming up with the lyrics for Rap Sinatra was quite the experience. Writing this song was the first time I ever wrote lyrics to a beat without having the beat actually playing. It’s something not many artists do, and it was definitely new to me, but doing it this way allowed me to focus on what I was saying instead of just how I was saying it over an instrumental. And with the subject matter being so vulnerable and candid as it is in this song, being able to fully capture and convey the emotional direction with this process was a game changer for me. It honestly felt like writing a really long poem. And since writing this song, this has been my normal process of writing songs. Just a pen, a pad, and no beat. And yes, I’m one of the few rappers that still use a pen and pad! We have the chance to hear some beautiful female vocals professed on this track. Could you please share some insight into who the collaboration is with and how it came to be? Yes, the woman singing is Zorina! I actually met her online through her Fiverr profile. I’ve always been big on collaborating on projects together in the studio. But this time around I wanted to push myself and get out of my comfort zone. I watched some of her videos and listened to other songs she had worked on and took a chance to have her featured on this song. Zorina immediately understood the direction when I sent her the brief and reference, and the vocals that I received back from her left me speechless. Just completely above and beyond what I was expecting. The song instantly felt whole once she was on, and it just wouldn’t be the same without her. How does “Rap Sinatra” compare to other music you’ve previously released? Well, for one, it’s on a completely different level engineering-wise. The song was mixed and mastered by Edoardo “Edg” Ghigo, who’s a really talented engineer I connected with through the platform Engineears, a platform created by Kendrick Lamar’s longtime engineer MixedbyAli. He made the song feel really big and polished, which I hadn’t really had for the previous releases in my catalog since I mixed and mastered most of those songs. And this is also the first time I have had a feature on one of my songs, and it’s safe to say that this feature just takes the song to the next level and beyond. And overall, I think I sound the most confident on this record. My vocal performance is confident, my instrumental is direct and intentional. I just really sound “at home” on this song. Being such an integral part of the overall production of your music, do you happen to have a favorite part of the creative process? Why? Ahhh, that’s tough. Well, I’d have to say that it’s between making beats and writing lyrics. Being able to kinda shut the world out and focus on just myself, my emotions, and the song that’s being birthed is such an addictive feeling. I really express myself more effectively through writing, and it’s been like that since I was a kid. So whenever I get the chance to sit down and write, whether it’d be writing a song or composing an instrumental, it makes me feel powerful. Like I’m actually sitting here creating something from scratch that the world has never experienced before. It’s such an indescribable feeling! What’s next for you? Rap Sinatra is the first release in a series of releases that I call “The Rap Sinatra Era.” So, you can definitely expect some more releases coming in the very near future. I’ll also be having a lot of content and events in between each release to support the songs as they drop. Lyric videos, live performances, alternate versions, BTS videos, etc. And lastly, I’ve been working on some merch that I’ll be making available for the first time, so I’m really excited about that! I have a lot coming, and I’ve been ready for it, and I’m ready for the people to have it all! Instagram Facebook
- Sarah Kellysen Releases Her Most Lyrically-Driven Album Yet, “Vertigo”
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, singer-songwriter and gender-fluid queer recording artist, actress, and YouTuber Sarah Kellysen faces her fears in her fourth studio album, Vertigo. From YouTube videos to features on a few successful web series, Sarah Kellysen was inspired to create music in 2017 and never looked back. Her debut album, Transition, paved the way for more bubblegum pop records like 2019 Casual, leading up to her third record, Rainbow Rhythm, in 2020. Now, Sarah Kellysen is releasing her fourth album, dubbed Vertigo, which is said to be about conquering fears and accepting the uncomfortable. In an exclusive interview, Kellysen said, "It is a story-driven album, probably some of the most lyrically grounding work I have ever done." The 12-track album opens with the previously released single, "Mundane Monday," a song about not letting preconceived notions get the best of you and your judgment. The song dances the lines between pop and deep house, with chilling and groovy production that keeps our toes tapping. Sarah Kellysen's smooth and laidback performance kicks the album into gear with rhythm and allure. In track number two, "Dreamscape," we're met with lush electronic synths that open the song on this dreamy and ethereal note. Sarah Kellysen's warm and welcoming vocals dance overtop the chilling sonics to paint vivid and dreamy images that instantly lift the spirit. The power and soul gradually increase near the outro to close the track on a hopeful, optimistic, and zen note. Reaching the album's third track, "Sensual Feeling," Sarah Kellysen throws us into a psychedelic synth-driven atmosphere alongside kicking drums and plucky bass-like synths that keep the energy flowing. Sarah Kellysen's sensual whispers and soft tones chill the spine with her gentle vocal nuances and the accompanying beat that feels like the soundtrack of a catwalk. It's another dreamy song that lifts you onto a cloud 9. Landing on the "Future Space Lounge" in track number four, Sarah Kellysen continues that sensual whispery theme while softly serenading us with adventurous lyricism. She never fails to evoke some empowering emotions in the listener, like encouraging them to set themselves free and live authentically and unapologetically. We're personally waiting for our invite to the "Future Space Lounge," where everyone is invited to let loose and be themselves. Upping the groove and rhythm is track number five, "Visions Of You," which kicks off with a toe-tapping drum arrangement that later sinks into this mystical old-school hip-hop vibe meets 80s funk and modern pop. It's an incredibly dynamic song that calls on us to reach whatever our heart desires. The dreamy background samples contrast Sarah Kellysen's alluring vocal performance perfectly, heading to the outro with the sweetest vibes possible. Jumping into the album's halfway point with track number six, "Erratic," we're met with soft percussion breakdowns and lush synths alongside Sarah Kellysen's clever lyricism. While whispering the song's title and falling into the song's groovy and slow-burn atmosphere, Sarah Kellysen expresses the core characteristics of her being while encouraging listeners to free themselves and feel empowered in their skin. Onto the album's second half, with the seventh track, "Kings And Queens," Sarah Kellysen throws us into a heavy deep house vibe with driving synths and crisp drum arrangements. Sarah Kellysen's lyrics never fail to make us smile, whether she's speaking empowering facts or making a witty, sly joke. This track is perfect for any weekend jam, prompting some serious dancing and feel-good vibes. Slowing things down a bit is the eighth track, "Black Rainbow," which softly opens with Sarah Kellysen's gentle whispers and r&b meets deep house production. This song feels like more of a personal entry into Sarah Kellysen's journal, where she expresses the trials and tribulations of being born into a path that was unspoken and walking into the unknown like a lone wolf. It's another empowering and hazy song that lifts the spirit and soothes the soul. Entering perhaps the most relaxing song on the album, "House Of Glass," Sarah Kellysen opens the song with her familiar whispers and soothing vocals that encourage us to relax and find relief. The gentle electro-pop sonics shimmer and sparkle through our speakers while Sarah Kellysen reminds us that our social class and the things we lack do not define us in this transparent "House Of Glass," where you're seen for who you truly are. Onto track number ten, "Pray For Another Day," we're met with an upbeat pop soundscape with driving drums and lush electric guitar licks alongside Sarah Kellysen's calming vocals. While expressing the story of a lone ranger in a ghost town who's constantly batting unpredictable circumstances, she encourages us to follow what our hearts are saying and never try to change ourselves for someone else. It's another transparent and empowering song that leaves us ready to seize the day. Reaching track number eleven and the album's title track, "Vertigo," Sarah Kellysen throws us into this lively 80s synthpop atmosphere with her whispery vocals and driving drums. She describes this energy-packed scenario where tongues are tied, and anticipation is at a high, channeling her inner fight or flight mode. We get the feeling that Kellysen will always choose to fight, and this album is a prime representation of her determination and commitment to living life unapologetically. Moving into the album's twelfth and final track, "Blessing In Disguise," Sarah Kellysen tosses us into a glimmering electro-pop soundscape while expressing the illusions and delusions of living in a warped reality. Her powerful and relatable lyrics demand a place where love is not in doubt, where her boundaries are understood, and where she can embrace her true self. It's an uplifting and dreamy outro track that ends the album with a bang. There is no better feeling than the naturally empowering and fulfilling lyrical concepts within Sarah Kellysen's new album, Vertigo. Find the relatable and anthemic new album on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Sarah Kellysen. We're thrilled to feature your fourth studio album, Vertigo. What life experiences or moments inspired you to create this empowering project? When creating this project, I went through so many life changes, from graduating from university, breaks up, being departed from jobs and web series; COVID was also a big factor in dealing with it like the rest of the world. I underwent many changes throughout these past 2-3 years of recording this album. I think many of those were beating hardships and overcoming your worst fears. Did you collaborate with any artists, producers, or musicians when creating the album, Vertigo? Who helped you bring the album to life? Angela Sunyoo Lee, a Korean sound artist, took on this project with me and brought the whole concept and structure to a new level. Her work embodies identity and hearing the stories of others who are not heard. Which song from Vertigo means the most to you and why? What makes this song so special to you? I have two “Pray For Another Day” because that song I wrote about my struggles between my faith telling me one thing and my identity being another. I felt I was revealing something internally personal. “Black Rainbow” is the other song that felt special. A song I wrote about systemic exclusivity from certain groups. How it feels that people say they care, but they don’t, and they don’t want to have a conversation about it either. I felt with so much happening in the world and so much being said now that, it was the time to really express how I feel being a minority myself. Were there any personal challenges or obstacles you had to face when creating Vertigo? How did you overcome those tough moments? I had to go through them and conquer the negative energy in order to find grace. I went through many challenges these past couple of years, as did the rest of the world. Vertigo is all about conquering those challenges and overcoming fear. Learning not to get rid of fight or flight mode. But dealing with it. What did you hope to make listeners think and feel when experiencing Vertigo? What impact did you want to have on them? I hope they feel like they can connect with the lyrics, theme, visuals, and sound in a way that’s empowering. We all have fears, and we have struggles. At the end of the day, we have our own fight or flight mode to conquer! Instagram Twitter

We love everything about your punchy new single and music video for "Raw As A Jewel." What inspired your group to create a track that dares listeners to follow their hearts? Thank you, BuzzMusic, for all your support for our music!! I think "following your heart" is common in our music. When you follow your heart, you can see the passion in your work. "Raw as a Jewel," we wanted to portray that emotion and our raw, authentic energy as a band. What was your band's experience shooting the high-energy music video for "Raw As A Jewel?" What was that behind-the-scenes process like? It was a lot of fun! We filmed the music video at Madhouse studios in Phoenix, AZ, with Raysquared Productions. We filmed it one night. Our goal was to have fun with it and showcase a little bit of who we were. What visual experience did you want to give viewers with the "Raw As A Jewel" music video? What did you want them to feel or think? We wanted the music video to feel raw, authentic, and fun to watch. Would you say "Raw As A Jewel" is one of your most powerful and relentless songs to date? What makes this song stand out in your discography? "Raw As A Jewel" is probably the most punk rock song we have to date. It's fun and upbeat, and most of our songs have a heavier emotion to them, so "Raw as a Jewel" was refreshing to us in that way of being more carefree and light-hearted. On a more personal note, what keeps your band inspired to continue creating hit after hit? What's the fuel that keeps Jane N' The Jungle running? Honestly, I think the biggest thing is keeping it fun and finding the small things that inspire us. When it feels like you are trying too hard, oftentimes you are, and the writing isn't good. Being true to ourselves and letting the music flow naturally has always been the best way for us to move forward. Instagram Facebook

Jacob Giaimo has been hard at the studio, pumping out hits that listeners are destined to relate with. He's become a melodic and lyrical force in the alternative world, known for writing catchy tracks with clever concepts that act as his and the listener's musical therapy sessions. Giaimo is currently putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming album, Sleep Talking, set to hit streaming platforms on December 16. Recorded and produced at Opus Recording Studio in North Hollywood, Jacob Giaimo's new single, "Before Long," examines how he tends to opt for quick fixes rather than working through obstacles thoroughly. It's a stunning single that acknowledges his strengths and emphasizes accepting his weaknesses while remaining honest with himself in the catchiest way. This lush and vibrant tune packs all the feel-good alternative rock vibes with Giaimo's slightly raspy and fluttery vocals that fill our speakers with a joyous nature. Although his lyrics are deeply introspective, a sense of acceptance and surrendering feels like a blanket of comfort. The instrumentals gradually expand into this harmonious and lush alternative space as the song continues. In contrast, Jacob Giaimo continues feeding us the utmost personal and relatable lyrics of accepting yourself entirely. It's an inspirational and uplifting new song with melodies that will linger in your mind for hours. Feel-good songs don't always have to be about your strengths. Let Jacob Giaimo show you the ropes of self-acceptance in his dazzling new single, "Before Long," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Jacob Giaimo. We deeply admire the self-accepting concept behind your lush new single, "Before Long." What moments inspired you to create this personal tune? The inspiration came from a breakup that I'd had. It just led me to analyze what went wrong and what I could've done better. "Why is it that you deal with certain things in a certain way?" That was the main question I asked myself when writing this, and it allowed me to understand better what I can do when dealing with uncomfortable situations in the future. I realize that's a vague answer, but it's as clear as possible. You mentioned that "Before Long" was the most you've ever enjoyed a song of yours. Why is that so? What makes this song different from your other singles? I enjoy it the most mainly because it is very honest and reflects my ever-growing understanding and skill for songwriting. Why do you think creating "Before Long" was so easy? What did you enjoy most about that process? The writing was easy for me because it was almost as if it was just waiting to be written. You get that sometimes, you catch a wave at the perfect moment when writing songs. Considering "Before Long" is one of your most personal songs, is it also one of your most relatable songs? What do you want the listener to experience when hearing it? It is relatable because we all struggle with difficult moments in relationships. That's why they're difficult. More than ever, it's been really important for me to embrace both my strengths and my weaknesses. In the past, if I were called out for doing something wrong, I always felt my ego being damaged. I'm trying to get to a place where I'm not so sensitive to criticism, and I have learned to accept and learn from it. Instagram Facebook

They continuously leave us on our toes with each release, successfully exploring various genres and avenues of storytelling while remaining entirely genuine and authentic. The Dan Gootner Band recently released their latest EP, Ignorance Was Bliss, comprising three diverse tracks that examine different phases and facets of life. The project opens with the introductory track, "Bourbon Street," featuring comforting acoustic guitar strums that elevate into a lush folk-rock soundscape. Elie Ganz's clear and smooth vocals fill our speakers with passionate energy while he dives into an introspective story of a slowly dying dream. While singing the story of a young man who leaves everything behind to find his fortune, The Dan Gootner Band emphasize the lonely-wanderer vagabond energy with their soulful and heartfelt instrumentals. Moving onto track number two, "Iao Valley," The Dan Gootner Band switches up the vibe with Eastern, Polynesian, and Western Classical instrumentals that take us to a refreshing oasis. This tropical and lush instrumental features Hawaiian lap steel, Eastern Tabla, Sitar, and cello to bless the ears with a similar sensation as the real Iao Valley, sitting in the heart of the West Maui Forest Reserve. It's a stunning instrumental piece that's sure to elevate your mood. Landing on the EP's third, final, and title track, "Ignorance Was Bliss," The Dan Gootner Band quickly pumps up the energy with lively folk-rock instrumentals while Ganz serenades us with introspective lyrics. The song examines a painful phase of growth and realizing that we know nothing at all, and all we thought was important doesn't matter. It's a freeing and self-surrendering song with high-energy and groovy instrumentals that feel like a weight being lifted off one's shoulders. The Dan Gootner Band's new EP was refreshing, to say the least. The many genres, approaches, and lyrical themes presented throughout the project perfectly introduce the band's vast creativity, passion, and determination. Find The Dan Gootner Band's EP, Ignorance Was Bliss, on all digital streaming platforms. A warm welcome to BuzzMusic The Dan Gootner Band, and congratulations on your latest EP, 'Ignorance Was Bliss." What inspired you to create this project? Elie: As a band, we feel lucky we're never not inspired. And the truth is, we've got a bunch of songs waiting to be released along with other originals in the vault, waiting to be recorded. We decided to release these three as EP because they reflect different aspects of life's journeys. We were seriously impressed with the unique instrumental getaway provided on track number three, "Iao Valley." How does this song fit into the theme or concept of Ignorance Was Bliss? Dan: Thank you! I appreciate it, and I'm proud of that one for sure. I decided to record that at the last minute before the EP was released and add it as a 3rd track. I felt it was a nice bookend to the EP and a nice piece of music to send the listener off. I grew up listening to and seeing albums as one full piece of music or one full experience. Our band has been sticking with shorter releases because it seems that's where the world is right now, but I still think about recorded music in that sense. It is an experience and takes the listener on a journey. So I liked the idea of closing it out with Iao Valley. Which song from Ignorance Was Bliss is your personal favorite? Elie: Ignorance Was Bliss, the title track, is pretty deep. It was an honest look inward at a time when I began studying certain philosophies and self-betterment disciplines, and I realized just how lost I was. Which did you enjoy creating the most? Elie: Every experience with the fine folks at Power Station Studios is truly amazing. We write and compose and all that, but getting the final product out there is like harvesting the crop. So it's hard to pick just one. How does Ignorance Was Bliss differ from your previous EPs? Dan: We are always trying to explore new sounds and new techniques with each release. The possibilities seem so infinite in what can be created sonically, and each time we go back to the studio, it's a chance to explore a new place. Iao Valley, for example, had never used Tablas before, which was a great exploration into a new sound. What makes this project stand out? Dan: We hope it stands out because of how real it is. The topics we're covering, and the soul behind the music, we hope that stand out and speak to people. If our music speaks to people, we've succeeded. What do you hope listeners experience when hearing Ignorance Was Bliss? Dan: We hope they enjoy it! We worked really hard on it, and we're very proud of it. So we hope everyone enjoys it. Instagram
