- Bask In The Passionate Moment With Natasha Blaine In “Vegas”
Hailing from Nashville, singer-songwriter and adventurous recording artist Natasha Blaine serenades the soul with her smooth-sailing new ballad entitled "Vegas." Initially from Seattle, Natasha Blaine is best known for blending jazz, soul, r&b, and pop music reminiscent of D'Angelo, Lianne La Havas, Amy Winehouse, and Emily King. Her buttery vocals and energizing live shows have caught the attention of audiences at venues like The Basement, The Analog, The 5 Spot, The Listening Room, and Rudy's Jazz Room. Now a regular around the Nashville music scene, Natasha Blaine is securing her spot with new, chilling releases like her recent single, "Vegas." It's a tender and ear-pleasing modern-day ballad where Blaine discusses how she doesn't need to go to overrated Vegas; she has all she needs at that moment with someone special. Diving deeper into "Vegas," this ethereal single begins with twinkling r&b keyboard melodies that shift into downtempo jazzy percussion alongside Natasha Blaine's stunning vocals. While describing how she doesn't care for the nights out, bright lights, and the heels she can't walk in, Blaine reminds us that all she needs is to be in this person's sweet presence. Speaking of sweet, Blaine's fluttery and vibrant vocals serenade us with delicate harmonies and the sweetest melodies that leave us floating on cloud nine. The song's minimal and soothing instrumentals perfectly let Natasha Blaine shine in the spotlight with her radiant vocals and emotive lyrics that end the song with heaps of passion. Who needs Vegas? Ditch that night out with friends and opt for something special with help from Natasha Blaine's lush new single, "Vegas," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Natasha Blaine. What inspired you to write such a soothing song about ditching "Vegas" for some alone time with someone special? Thank you for having me! Last fall, a bunch of my friends was telling me they were going on trips to Vegas. It was funny; it felt like everyone I knew suddenly needed to go to Vegas for a few days. I've only been there once, when I was 12, but I've always found that city so interesting. It's like real life doesn't exist there. One night, I was talking to my sister on the phone about this on the way to a co-writing session, and I heard myself say to her, "Vegas is so overrated." I immediately decided that this would be what I wanted to write about that evening. I brought up the idea to my co-writer (and producer), Ryan Connors, and we ran with it. "Vegas" is about the indescribable way love makes you want to stay put in the moment. What was your vision for the vibe and atmosphere of "Vegas?" How did you want the instrumentals and production to make listeners feel? I wanted this song to come across as honest and introspective but groovy at the same time. I wanted the production to suck you into this world the lyrics paint. What was your favorite part about creating "Vegas?" What did you take away from the experience? I think since both Ryan and I had such a clear vision of this song from the very beginning, it was amazing how effortlessly the pieces fell together in production. My favorite part of the recording process was definitely the day we did background vocal parts. I always love recording BGVs since I have so much fun improvising and writing parts collaboratively. But there was something extra magical about the BGV session for this track. I came out of that session with this incredible feeling that we'd really taken the song to another level. Since living in Nashville, do you think the city's music scene has influenced your music? How has "music city" impacted you? Living in Nashville has had the most amazing influence on me creatively. I think the special thing about Nashville is the genuine love of music that brings people here. And because Nashville draws so many talented people from all musical backgrounds, I've been lucky to get to collaborate with songwriters, musicians, and producers who've had a big impact on my sound. I try to push myself to find time to write and record with new people, which I hope to always keep doing. What's next for you? I'm wrapping up production on a few more singles which will be out over the next several months! I've been playing all of these songs at my shows with my band, so I can't wait to get the recordings out there. Plus, I have lots of local Nashville shows coming up, too, and (hopefully) I'll be going on my first tour in 2023! Instagram Facebook

Vancouver's very own pop-rock band with a dash of witty banter, The Vidos, flood the scene with their highly-anticipated banger of a single, "Boomshackalacka," from their equally as anticipated upcoming debut album, Right In The Kisser. What started as three kids playing Rush covers at school dances flourished into a tightly-knit trio with an affinity for fuzzy pop hooks, creative drumming, and stacked harmonies. Comprised of Brett Hornall, Kirk Musfelt, and Nolan Nielson, The Vidos have seen their tracks crack the Top 40 on Canadian Active Rock charts while amassing considerable attention with their kickass live shows. Quickly becoming one of Canada's most promising and unpredictable acts, The Vidos are keeping us at the edge of our seats with thrilling bops like this, ramping up the momentum for Right In The Kisser, an album that's been in the making for God knows how long. Produced by Danny Craig, co-founder of Rock Is Dead Records, "Boomshackalacka" kicks off with Nielson's slow-burn mid-tempo snare drum alongside the smoothest r&b-drenched keys that lead into Hornall's fluid and juicy vocals, blessing the ears with all sorts of sweet and sensual retro vibes. Musfelt's shimmering electric guitar softly pierces through the speakers until we're absolutely trampled by the fiery hook, hitting us over the head with a contagious energy that's bound to liven your evening. The Vidos put on one hell of a show, and we're aching to see the boys get down to this banger live. They're quickly proving themselves as a force to be reckoned with through scorching hot pop-rock anthems like "Boomshackalacka," a chilling and dynamic new tune that'll sit in your head like an earworm for hours on end. When you're ready for a dose of witty pop-rock, give your favorite oddballs some love and find the new track on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, The Vidos. Congratulations on releasing your highly-anticipated, lively new single, "Boomshackalacka." Did anything or anyone inspires your group to create this exciting scorcher of a single? Thanks for having us, BuzzMusic! You have a lovely place here. Yeah, I mean, the move to Toronto was hugely inspiring; as you know, we ended up living in our tour bus for the better part of seven months (too long), and that drove us mad in a way we’ve never experienced before, but we did get some pretty good tunes out of it I think. We were also listening to a ton of new music and soaking in all the talent that the Toronto open mic scene had to offer — it’s bananas how good these people are. This song was honestly us just trying to keep up. What was your band's favorite part about creating such a dynamic and animated track like "Boomshackalacka"? What was that experience like? Where was the song recorded? It just felt good to do something different that surprised us. I think realizing we were capable of writing a song that wasn’t just a bunch of riffs glued together was our favorite part… It's always fun trying new sounds, but this felt like a big step forward, and that was very exciting. Originally it had a different chorus melody that I really liked, but our producer Danny told us it ripped off Taylor Swift’s “22” (Scooter’s Version), so I had to go back to the drawing board. I was bummed, and I remember dejectedly eating a Junior Chicken in the food court where I worked when all those lyrics just popped into my head. It was like receiving an AirDrop from the universe. We recorded it when we moved back to BC in Danny’s garage; he’s got a really nice studio in there. Why did you want "Boomshackalacka" to lead the way in terms of singles from your forthcoming debut album, Right In The Kisser? How does this song prepare listeners for what's to come? I think it was important to throw a curveball at anyone who’s been a listener of this band over the years right off the hop because it really is a song that we’re tremendously proud of and one that sent us on this new road where we’re kind of lampooning this whole idea of being a “rock band”. We carried this false swagger for the longest time because that’s what we were told to do by middle-aged white dudes (no offense, Danny + Dave from our label (shoutout Rock Is Dead Records xo). You’re the exception, and we love you very much). This record is us being truthful about who we really are and what we’re doing here, and the truth is it’s all very ridiculous. And I think that oughtta be celebrated. Could you drop some hints on what to expect from your upcoming debut album, Right In The Kisser? What's your band's goal with this record? Expect some weird stuff! There are jazz chords and feel changes and different styles of singing and death and ballads and gut-busting riffs and a song about just being ahead. It’s fun for the whole family. Our goal is to hopefully reach some ears that have not otherwise heard us and make the brains attached to those ears via a complex series of pipes think and feel things they would not have otherwise felt. That, and achieve online superstardom. We’ve been together for 11 years — give us 15 minutes, for God’s sake, already. What's next for you? We’re putting together a really cool live show right now with a bunch of really dope new gear that we’re all very excited about, so we hope to get that thing on the road sometime in the next handful of months. Preferably we can hop on a tour with another hipper band and ride some coattails into the stratosphere. Other than that, I think we’re just gonna keep trying to remain present and enjoy the process of rolling out our first record here while we keep pushing each other to be better songwriters, musicians, performers, and zaddies. Thank you so much for doing this; it was great talking atcha and hope to see you again real soon. Much Luv, Buzz! Instagram Facebook
- Retreat From Life’s Chaos With Maxton Hunter’s “Halfway Home”
From Goleta to Los Angeles, singer-songwriter and psych-pop producer Maxton Hunter longs for an escape with someone special in his latest single, "Halfway Home." Maxton Hunter doesn't identify with one single instrument but the studio as a whole. From growing up in a secluded ranch near Goleta to moving to Los Angeles in 2019, Hunter quickly became an active member of the independent music scene through several collaborations and performing with groups like The Caverns and The Shorelines. Now, Maxton Hunter invites you into his own mystical, moving, and passionate sonic world with his third EP release, Windmills Of My Imagination, featuring the lead single "Halfway Home." The new song is a tasteful helping of California psych-pop with breezy guitars, lush keyboards, and lyrics packed with desire. Maxton Hunter mentioned that it's a song of reclusion and longing for an escape, something many of us can relate to during these strange times. Hitting play on the new tune, "Halfway Home," we're peacefully greeted with smooth pop-folk instrumentals that glitter and drone through our speakers with the sweetest melodies. Correction, Maxton Hunter's vocals provide the smoothest melodies, showering us in endless passion and imagination, something he's been known for since childhood. He blesses our ears on the soul-soothing hook with gentle falsetto melodies and the warmest acoustic guitar alongside mid-tempo percussion and tender keys to round out the listening experience. It's clear that all Maxton Hunter is looking for is an escape to "underneath the waterfall," just to be alone with his woman. The song is a heaping serving of pure, unbridled passion that has us itching to hit the road with someone special. Feast your ears on the delightful listening experience that is Maxton Hunter's lush new single, "Halfway Home," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Maxton Hunter. What a beautiful and comforting listening experience you've offered. You've mentioned that you identify with the studio rather than one single instrument. What was your experience in the studio creating the EP? What was that process like? All the songs that now make up ‘Windmills Of My Imagination’ were written while quarantined with my girlfriend in 2020. Although I love home recording and still actively do so, I felt these 4 songs genuinely deserved something different. So in early 2021, I teamed up with my friend and stellar engineer Noah Bruskin at his studio in Santa Barbara. Creatively, it was really refreshing to focus more on the songs themselves this time around and equally shadow Noah’s recording techniques. It’s immensely important to have someone willing to experiment with you while also being candid and acknowledging your bad ideas. He’s really brilliant… and even made some keyboard-cameos, ha! Unlike a stage, studios feel far more comfortable to me. Every idea can finally come to fruition in a studio and to this day, being able to listen back to what originated in one’s head just always astonishes me. My perspective on songwriting and recording immediately changed after these sessions so I’m looking forward to how it’ll translate on future projects. Why is "Halfway Home" a "song you hear when your head is in the clouds," as you mentioned? Could you elaborate on that? Aside from my obsession with reverb, I just wanted every aspect of “Halfway Home” to also contribute to that sense of daydreaming: growing up, finding real love, and longing for a spiritual escape. The EP overall is quite dreamy to me because it touches on the importance of your mindset… or better yet, your imagination. What sort of scenes, visuals, or images didn't you want listeners to imagine? What did you want them to picture? There’s never been an image I didn’t want listeners to imagine because no matter how much you put into a song (literally or abstractly), people will always interpret it differently. During quarantine, like so many people, I was really going through a hard time, and I had just moved to Los Angeles when everything shut down. This meant new surroundings, a new day-to-day life… Simply put, there were a lot of changes all at once. Because of this, you can really hear that these songs were written at different points of my growth. For me, when I hear them, I’m, of course, taken back on my own personal journey. But I hope that when others listen to it, they can reflect on their own journeys and feel the comfort that they’re not alone. Once your music is released, it’s not yours anymore. That’s what’s ultimately so special about being a musician. What can you tell us about your upcoming EP? Funny enough, WOMI wasn’t originally intended to be an EP, but one of the lyrics from “Say What You Mean” just sounded too cool not to be an album or EP title, haha. This then sparked my interest to simply bring my 3 previous singles alongside 1 new song together for a cohesive experience. It’s rare for me to celebrate my birthdays, so I felt this was also a fun way to honor turning 25! Although each song is quite different from one another, they really summarize this first quarter of my life, and I couldn’t be more grateful… Onto the next chapter! Instagram Artist Website
- Nico Miles Returns Better Than Ever In “Let’s Live!”
From Riverside to Los Angeles, singer-songwriter and genre-bending rock artist Nico Miles slams the scene with a new compilation of singles in his recent 13-track album, Let's Live! "If you feel like you can do any better, start your own band," said Joe Strummer, the fuelling quote behind Nico Miles's career alongside influences from The Clash. Known for creating emotionally driven, energetic, and melodic rock music, Nico Miles is changing the bleak state of rock one compelling track at a time. Now releasing his recent album, Let's Live!, listeners are invited to open up and "join the party, weed out old toxic ways, and give women and POC a safe place to exist and enjoy sharing being alternative," says Miles. The new album kicks off with the introductory track, "Theory Of The Mundane (Part 2)," nothing short of a gripping anthem that starts the project with a bang. Nico Miles's charismatic and attitude-packed vocal delivery is enthralling, jumping through the speakers alongside riveting alternative rock meets punk rock instrumentals. It's a scorcher of a single and one that grabs your attention in a split second. In the second track, "Side By Side," Nico Miles turns up the good vibes and passion with his upbeat instrumentals and feel-good melodies that surround the listener with radiance. Nico Miles's vocal melodies and energy aren't something to miss, and he showcases his vibrant performing stylings perfectly in this dynamic tune. There are hints of nostalgia that lie within the post-punk twists and turns, all while the stellar rock groove lifts us to the outro. Throwing ourselves into the fire of the album's third track, "As Long As We Have To," the experience blasts off with crunchy and flaming electric guitars that shake the eardrums. At the same time, Nico Miles jumps into the exhilarating first verse. His cut-throat performance and no-bullshit energy are so engaging, especially as Miles channels the angst and emotion from the prime eras of punk. There are hints of Green Day in this quaking tune that bring a whole other anthemic and intense layer. "Get Off My Back," says Nico Miles in the angst-ridden fourth track that pounds the speakers with heavy drums, rhythmic bass licks, crunchy guitars, and Miles's contagious energy. This song is a pronounced middle finger from Miles himself, who's had it with inequality, unequal pay, and toxic ways of the past. "Keep on talking that shit, and you're gonna get smacked. I am the manager, so get the fuck off my back," he exclaims. Reaching "The Fifth" track and the album's halfway point, Nico Miles rolls us into a gripping and chilling rock groove with pulsating guitars and fiery drums alongside his charismatic vocal punches. He uses this track to remind listeners to stand tall and always be proud of who they are, inviting them to join the party and let loose without worry. This is another foot-stomping anthem that stopped us dead in our tracks within seconds. Ready for a "Friday Night Blackout?" hop into the spicy sonics in the album's sixth track that blasts us into peak punk sounds. Nico Miles brings us dead-splat into an invigorating punk-rock experience with his steamy instrumentals, lively energy, and killer performance stylings that demand our attention from top to bottom. We love the attitude in this song; it's the perfect anthem for anyone in need of an empowering and fiery outlet. Slowing things down is track number seven, "Apocalypse," kicking off with another rich and dense rhythm guitar introduction that leads into the moody, twangy, and classic rock instrumental. Nico Miles soars into the verse with the utmost power and passion while describing a lingering need for change in the "Apocalypse" we live in. It's an incredibly cathartic listening experience where you can practically hear the weight being lifted from Miles's shoulders. Steamrolling into track number eight, "The Pack," we're getting some major Peaky Blinders soundtrack vibes with the heavy and quick rock instrumentals that leave our speakers smoking. Nico Miles jumps into the track with a thrilling homage to the good old days while reminding us that although those days are gone, we're still here and thriving. We love the upbeat and feel-good nature of this head-banging tune; it's packed with thrills and chills from beginning to end. Onto the album's ninth and final track, "Kill The Noise," Nico Miles smacks the speakers with his familiar electric guitar introduction that paves the way for his fiery punk rock instrumentals. If one thing is for sure, it's that Nico Miles knows how to create one hell of an anthem that commands your attention, no matter what it's about. This is another solid representation of Miles's feisty performance stylings and his empowering lyrics that make the listener want to rally for change. Find the energy, passion, and inspiration you're looking for all within the nine stellar tracks of Nico Miles's recent album, Let's Live!, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Nico Miles. We love the empowering themes and energy in your new album, Let's Live! When did you start creating and writing these songs? How long was the album in the making? It is my pleasure to be featured with BuzzMusic LA once again! Thank you for the kind words. I’m glad empowering was the takeaway. 90% of these songs came from riffs I had on my phone over the past six years. I started organizing, completing, and recording what I decided to keep at the beginning of 2021, along with several other projects that are coming out soon. All of what I call “caveman” rock riffs went together. I wanted to create something simple and fun but with a message. Almost like a palate cleanser from the rest of the more complex or emotionally dramatic music I’ve recorded in the past couple of years. We finished recording, mixing, and mastering Let’s Live! towards the end of Spring 2022. Since July, we have been releasing each song weekly, like an episodic series. In the end, you can binge-listen. (September 23, 2022). Although Let's Live! is a compilation of weekly singles, is there a running theme or concept behind these songs? If you hear what the words are actually saying, the album gets to the core of being a young person in the middle of trying to figure out where you belong. There are harsh lessons in finding out the difference between potential and reality. Especially when you’re trying to party the trauma away while figuring out your identity with people you probably won’t know in a couple of years. It’s romantic but incredibly sad and difficult. You get your heart broken a lot as a young person, and self-destruction is easy. I wanted to show that you can get to the other side of it as well. And ultimately that you can achieve anything you want if you think for yourself and put in the work. That means towards your mental health too. That then can go towards creating better environments for each other that don’t have the misogyny and racism I repeatedly saw in white rock clubs coming up. I denounce that behavior entirely and call for what I’m already starting to see with the new class of young Rock N’ Rollers: peacefully coexisting and having fun. Let go and party, but everyone is invited, and you don’t have to hurt yourself or anyone else in the process. Life and the soap opera-like communications we have with each other have handled plenty, I promise. My friends and I always talked about making a record (or records) that was just straight-up Rock N’ Roll with the sense of humor and the esthetics we’d been jokingly threatening to do for years amongst ourselves. Something bright and colorful at a party with Pabst Blue Ribbon to commemorate our youth and the new kids coming up in theirs. It’s all very Inspired by Foxboro Hot Tubs (a drunken 60s garage rock Green Day side project.) It’s unbelievably tongue and cheek. I’m wearing a leopard print coat, for crying out loud! Right before being a joke, but completely dead serious about the subject matter. Did you have any artistic influences or projects in mind when creating the songs for Let's Live!? Who or what had an impact on this album? As far as influences go, Foxboro Hot Tubs were probably the genesis of the entire concept. With that, I wanted to pay homage to the originators and architects of Rock N’ Roll like Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Big Mama Thornton, Bo Diddley, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, etc. Though it probably sounds closer to The Hives and The Vines, more garage rock song. The city of Riverside and Los Angeles influenced all the themes and the overall attitude in the sound of this project. I grew up in the inland empire and would go to all the Rock N’ Roll clubs in Los Angeles growing up. Good and bad experiences with all the above influenced Let’s Live! musically and lyrically. I’m glad to have learned a thing or two, but the scars are still there. Love/hate relationships with all of it, but there’s nowhere I’d rather be than Southern California even if it’s flawed. Is there a song from Let's Live! that you're most proud of? Which were you most excited to bring to the masses? I think Side By Side is an important song because of its themes of unity and equality. Creating a safe space so that everyone can exist peacefully. Ultimately that’s what I’m all about, and I’d like to communicate to the masses. I really want to create a culturally and musically diverse community where everyone feels like they belong with each other, even if they’re into different things. I see that at Tyler The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw. It’s a community of dope, forward-thinking fashionable individuals that like all kinds of music. I don’t see that much in Rock N’ Roll. Without community and change towards a more POC-friendly environment, it will die. None of us can do it alone. We all need each other. There are guitars and drums playing everywhere still. And there are actually tons of people from different walks of life who are into this music; I just want to find them so we can unite. What did you want to provide listeners with when releasing Let's Live!? What did you want them to experience with this album? I want them to have fun, crack open a PBR and be joyful around the people they trust most. This record is there to reflect and get through dark patches but also to reminisce about the old days while being able to move forward and create new healthy memories. More partying, less stress, less living a life that isn’t your choice, and more W’s. I wish everyone nothing but peace and good times. Even if you gotta work hard as hell to create that for yourself, it’s worth doing. Instagram
- See A Deeper Side Of Auti In Her Newest Single, “4 Years”
From Charleston, West Virginia, singer-songwriter and recording artist Auti trudges through painful memories and experiences in her sincere new single, "4 Years." An old soul in a teenager's body, Auti looked at life through a different lens and grew up being picked on for her differences. When bullying drove her close friend to take his own life, Auti became driven on her mission for change. Now translating that mission through her music, Auti wants to remind listeners that they are loved, not alone, and have a purpose on this earth. You might know Auti for her viral video singing Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow," which landed over 300m views. Now, she's letting listeners into her personal world with an homage to her late friend entitled "4 Years." This gripping and emotional new single begins with melancholy piano melodies that haunt the foreground while Auti makes her gentle and introspective vocal appearance. Her lyrical content grabs your attention right off the bat; it's almost like she's reciting a page from her personal diary. Auti's vocal melodies and transitions are stunning, and the emotion seeping through each word is chilling to the bone. She has such a way with words, and we're certain that any listener will be impressed with Auti's ability to paint such delicate and life-changing scenes with her reflective storytelling. While singing of the past four years and the pain, confusion, and tears she's experienced, Auti leads us to the outro on a note of clarity, where she finally expresses all that had to be said. It doesn't get much more sincere than the honest emotion and heart poured into Auti's new single, "4 Years." Find the breathtaking new single on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Auti. You've truly moved us with your emotional and personal new single, "4 Years." What led you to create this deeply intimate piece? “4 Years” kind of just happened. It wasn’t something that I planned on writing; I just sat down at the piano on the 4-year anniversary of my friend passing suicide and talked to him. What was your experience writing such vulnerable and personal lyrics for "4 Years"? Was it challenging to write these emotional words? It’s not so challenging at the moment, but more so comforting and almost rewarding to be able to get those feelings out through the song itself. I know that if I couldn’t sit down at the piano and speak through that lyricism, it would be something that I would hold with me forever. Performing it live is a whole other story, though. I tend to refer to myself as a “crybaby” with the way that I break down singing more emotional songs - but hey, that’s just another part of healing. Do you usually create such meaningful and impactful piano-centric songs like "4 Years"? How does this song stand out from your other releases? I feel like emotional-descriptive-ballad-type songs are my forte. When it comes to fast music, I’ll produce a very rough vision of what I’m going for and then leave the producers to work their magic as I write the lyrics. This song especially stands out right now within my discography because my releases this year started with two upbeat songs - one more pop-rock and one more RNB-bubblegum pop. “4 Years” is obviously a more emotional ballad and completely different from the first two 2022 releases. What was your goal with "4 Years?" What impact did you want the song to have on listeners? When I first began writing “4 Years,” I never imagined it as something I would actually release. I never do that with my music anyway, but “4 Years,” in particular, was something I needed to write for my own sake. It had been 4 years since Luke, a close friend of mine, had lost his life to suicide. It had been 4 years of questions and confusion and observing the way it affected those who loved him most. Seeing that, I realized that, above all, I needed “4 Years” to be healing. At the end of the day, my music is meant to be open for interpretation for that exact reason, so I want “4 Years” to connect with everyone in the way they connect with it, with the final goal of finding some healing within it. What's next for you? As of right now, I’m continuing to release music, and hopefully, my next project will have several more personal songs. I’d love for listeners to connect with the songs themselves but also get to know me a little better and, most importantly, get to know more about my message. So, in short, we’ll see! Two songs deep, and we're already head over heels for such a genuine record. Onto a song we haven't heard yet, "Can't Forget," we're met with a 47-second interlude that bridges the previous songs into the next. While Kacey Fifield serenades us with her bright and shiny vocals, the soothing pop instrumentals linger in the background while she confesses the aftermath of a rough breakup, countless read receipts, and confusing experiences they've shared together. Reaching track number four, "Doppelganger," Kacey Fifield spices up the intensity with her gripping vocal stylings and producer Nippandab's cinematic future bass production that glitters and gleams with emotion. Kacey Fifield's performance is so cathartic; she uses this track to express the broken trust that was once built and how this person played their role a little too well. It's a punchy and relatable track that sees Kacey Fifield in a more vulnerable state. Onto a track we've had the chance to feature before, "Toxic," this banger of a single is produced by Nippandab, who's clearly mastered the future house/bass genre. He lays the spicy and upbeat foundation for Kacey Fifield to unleash her crisp vocals about this toxic person while wishing to understand their logic. It's an exciting house bop that leaves you moving, grooving, and chanting along with Fifield's lyrics. Diving into track number six, "Karma Calls," featuring producer Toniia, we're met with Kacey Fifield's haunting vocal melodies and Toniia's buzzy, melodic production. As Fifield continues mustering the courage to express her truest emotions, she floods our speakers with all sorts of realizations that karma will return to those who've done her dirty. It's another cathartic and expressive song that dissects the lowest points of where relationships can bring us. Produced by Ricardo Padua, the seventh track, "Double Agent," kicks off like a breath of fresh air with the sweetest background synths, progressive drums, and Kacey Fifield's contemplative lyrics. While singing of knowing this particular person is doing her dirty and being a "Double Agent" in love, she ramps up the courage to bestow the cold hard truth and let it be known that she's watching her back for sleazy people like this. Reaching track number eight, "Palms," this is a song we've had the chance to feature in the past, and we're thrilled it made the cut. Produced by Little Rain, this lush and tropical-sounding single takes us deep into the "Palms" with Kacey Fifield's radiant vocals and lyrics that speak about savoring the time with someone special. It's one of those beaming summer singles that lets you cherish the moment around you and live in the present. Onto another piano-centric interlude, "Parasocial," we're greeted with bouncy piano melodies and Kacey Fifield's chilling vocal stylings that dissect a "Parasocial" relationship. This one-sided relationship sees Fifield giving all the possible effort she could, only to wallow in someone else's confusing ways and mind games. Produced by Robbie Rosen, the album's tenth track, "5 Seconds Of Fame," opens with bright and cheerful synth arrangements alongside lush pop drums that lead into Kacey Fifield's harmonious and honest vocals. She dives into expressive lyrics about someone who would quite literally do anything for that brief "5 Second Of Fame." Rosen's soothing and melodic production perfectly enhances Kacey Fifield's blunt performance, prompting a few humorous smiles from her witty lyrics. Hitting play on track number eleven, "Say It," Kacey Fifield explores the sensations and feelings she experiences when someone special says her name like a symphony. Produced by Noble, the punchy and groovy electro-pop sonics keep the energy alive while Kacey Fifield unleashes her hidden emotions regarding this person. It's quite a refreshing piece that helps us relive those moments of falling in love with someone new. Landing on the album's twelfth and outro track, "Younger Self," Kacey Fifield bestows the most reflective, personal, and vulnerable song on the album. Produced by Toniia, this lush pop song sees Kacey Fifield's counting her accomplishments and looking back at the peaks and valleys of her journey, knowing that her "Younger Self" would be proud. It's a feel-good listening experience that perfectly culminates the entire album on a note of hope, dedication, and resilience. There's nothing we encourage more than to take a deep dive into Kacey Fifield's personal world with her highly-anticipated 12-track debut album, Between The Lines, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Kacey Fifield. A big congratulations on releasing your anticipated debut album, 'Between The Lines.' When did you start piecing together ideas for this record? How long was the album in the making? The very first song that I got the idea for was Like Us! We started on that one last July, so the album has been over a year in the making (wow, time flies!). Since then, some months were crazy productive, where I came up with a ton of different ideas and recorded a bunch of songs, and others were more of a lull. I had such a great time working with the incredible producers on the album! Was there a particular concept or theme you wanted to tie into your debut album, 'Between The Lines?' What did you want to share with listeners through this album? As the name suggests, the album takes a deep look at all of the underlying emotions and thoughts found “between the lines.” It focuses on all things unwritten, subliminal, and secret. The songs are all about complicated relationships with people, whether that be a satirical critique of the nature of fame, a self-reflection, or a heartfelt message to a lost friend. I worked with 7 incredible music producers to create these 12 tracks, and I’m so excited for everyone to hear them! Do you have a favorite song from 'Between The Lines?' What makes that song so important to you? I’m so incredibly proud of every song on the album! But the very last song that I wrote for the album was Doppelgänger, and it’ll always have a special place in my heart. I got the idea while doing my skincare routine, and as soon as I thought of it, I knew that it had to be on the album, and I knew that it was the last one that I wanted to add. What was it like working with an array of talented producers when creating the songs for 'Between The Lines?' What did you learn or take away from those collaborations? Working with so many talents from across the globe was such an amazing experience. All of their brilliant tracks perfectly suited my lyrics and melodies and truly brought the album to life. My biggest takeaway was definitely the importance of collaboration!! When multiple minds work together and use their strengths, magic can be made. Shout out to my producers: Marin Hoxha, Nippandab, Toniia, Little Rain, Robbie Rosen, Ricardo Padua, and Noble, for being a huge part of my debut album. Now that you've continued exploring the electronic-pop genre with 'Between The Lines,' do you think you'll stay on this sonic path for your future releases? Or might you branch out into other genres? I definitely love working with electronic-pop tracks, and I absolutely want to continue using this musical style in future projects. I’d also love to continue exploring different genres as I keep growing as an artist! Instagram Artist Website
- Feeling “Dumb Out of Luck?" Let It Out With Falky’s New Single
Coming in hot from New York is a solo artist turned dynamic punk rock band Falky with their first release as a group entitled "Dumb Out of Luck." After three to four years of making and releasing solo music, Falky is happy to present us with the band's first official single. The New York-based group is ready to steamroll the independent music scene with sounds from chill pop to blazing pop-punk. They strive to be as diverse artists as possible, and that sentiment is evident in their upcoming EP. Now releasing one of the most anthemic tracks we've heard from an indie act, "Dumb Out of Luck," this sweltering pop-punk banger scorches the speakers in thrilling instrumentals alongside Falky's expressive and high-energy vocal performance that leaves the listener chanting by his side. This exhilarating new track kicks off with snappy punk snares that leap into the high-energy verse with Falky's passionate vocals and the band's tightly-knit instrumentals. The song's gleaming hook brings all the power, angst, and feel-good expression of prime pop-punk acts of the past, while Falky keeps the listeners locked in with contemporary twists and turns. Falky's raspy and attention-commanding vocals are captivating, and his accompanying instrumentals, like the spirited and plucky electric guitar, maintain the energy for one hell of a listening experience. The chant-worthy bridge leaves us banging our heads towards the outro while Falky closes the track with contagious energy. We can only imagine the madness of seeing Falky perform this song live. When things aren't going as planned, don't sweat it; let it all out with help from Falky's fiery new single, "Dumb Out of Luck," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Falky. We can't get enough of the contagious energy and passion in your new single, "Dumb Out of Luck." What inspired your group to create a song with so much pent-up emotion? I wrote "Dumb Out of Luck" as a Junior in college when I was going through a streak of, for lack of a better term, unluckiness. Even though I felt ok mentally at the time, it was like nothing I was doing through this streak was working. In other words, I was in this dissatisfying slump that I had no clue how to get out of! The song is about that try-fail cycle that hits everyone every once in a while. The thing with "Dumb Out of Luck," though, is that it was written and shelved for a few months before anything came of it. The only reason the song exists now is that at some point, I showed an extremely musically inclined friend (and the now another half of Falky) named Rufus the demo. He decided to take it on as a producer, encouraging me to un-shelf it. He called it a "million-dollar song." After working on Dumb Out of Luck together, we decided we were a good team, and that's how Falky became more than a solo act. How does "Dumb Out of Luck" help listeners better understand your band's sound? How does this song represent your group? "Dumb Out of Luck," while you wouldn't know it yet, is a testament to our diverse skillset. Before working on "Dumb Out of Luck," I was writing to any genre I could get my hands on, and partnering up with Rufus only expanded the options. As that yearning to try out new sounds evolved, it became less sloppy, and more of us simply not being scared of trying out new sounds. We're fully open to taking songs in directions we've never explored because, at the end of the day, what's the point of releasing music if you aren't having fun making it? Speaking of, that "fun" sound is a big part of our music and is something you can expect to continue hearing as we release more. Should we expect to hear "Dumb Out of Luck" on your upcoming EP? Could you drop any hints about the project? You can definitely expect to hear "Dumb Out of Luck" on the EP! I can't say too much, as I have a habit of oversharing about future projects, but what I can say is that this EP will continue to showcase our ability to work with multiple genres and that we're extremely excited to release the next single. The song I'm most excited about personally is called Bittersweet, and if you want a sneak peek at that one, our first live performance of the song is on Youtube! If you asked Rufus what song he was most looking forward to, though, he'd probably nod to a song we're working on called "WHERE DO WE GO." What's next for you? The music we're making behind the scenes is reaching a point where to make it work, I need to level up my vocals, so if we're talking specifics here, what's next for me are some vocal lessons. If we're generally talking, though, my plan is to keep releasing music! Making "Dumb Out of Luck" as well as the other songs we plan on releasing have been, on one hand, extremely stressful, but my time working on these songs has also been the most fun I've had making music since I first started four years ago! As long as that fire is there, I want to push the limits of my creativity and our ability to put out music that everyone who listens can enjoy. Instagram Twitter
- Mystery In All “Aspects,” With The Light Dreams
The Light Dreams’ synth rhythmic music sets you up to vibe. Their newest album, 'Aspects,' and the song that goes by the same name are the perfect example of The Light Dreams’ musical capabilities. In 2006, designer and artist Alex Storer began his musical journey to become The Light Dreams. Since then, he has been creating electronic music on his own and using his vivid imagination to navigate musically through the intricacy of things. It has long been the case that attempts to form a meaningful impression of such mysteries lend themselves well to the medium of music. His influences include some of the greatest musicians of the recent past, like Gary Numan, Peter Gabriel, David Bowie, and Jean-Michel Jarre, to mention a few. Their ground-breaking works altered how we perceive musical style, and Alex has pulled from these influences to create and refine his own methodology. "Aspects," the most recent album by The Light Dreams, transports us to a tranquil setting. As we navigate these trying circumstances, we can temporarily escape from daily life by taking the chance to appreciate this artist’s therapeutic effects. "Aspects," the second single from the album of the same name, features delicate melodies and majestic rhythms. The music is inspirational and the perfect accompaniment to themes of reflection and contemplation. Through the merging of electronic styles and ideas, "Aspects" gives the listener a sense of gazing beyond their ordinary reality, whether it involves transporting us to planets around far-off stars, investigating urban life, or pushing the limits of human cognition. Welcome to BuzzMusic The Light Dreams, and congratulations on your latest release, "Aspects." What everyday sounds inspire you or trigger you to create music? The album Aspects begins with the sound of gentle waves. The sea has always been a regular influence... there’s something about the sound of waves crashing that liberates the imagination. Being out in nature has the same effect, almost as if it clears the mind to start mentally composing – there’s a part of my brain that is always listening out for inspiration. I’ve always cited travel as a main influence on my music – the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of a time and place always spark ideas. What is it you’re trying to transmit in "Aspects?" Perhaps a sense of escape and serenity. Music has always been a cathartic process for me, and my work is usually tied together by a concept or a musical world I want to explore. Although Aspects contains a lot of light and shade, I wanted to create an overall mood of tranquil optimism and distraction from the world around us. What was your main source of inspiration to create 'Aspects,' the album? As an instrumentalist, I usually start with a concept or a title and work backward from that. Aspects came together differently. I had been slowly working on several unrelated pieces of music during the lockdown periods of 2020-21. As an entirely self-taught artist, making music is a very organic process – it isn’t something you can create on demand, so you have to wait for that right moment when things naturally flow. Last summer, I gathered this collection of tracks together and realized they all sat alongside each other perfectly – it became clear what was needed to finish them and also what kind of pieces to create to flesh it out into a full album. Aspects also go back to my roots a little, as I had been listening to the albums which originally inspired me to make my own music. Much of my output is the result of years of being a passionate music fan and soaking up decades of influence. I’m also a keen photographer, and when I was on the west coast of Scotland in September 2021, I took a photo that I immediately knew was going to be the album cover. I always plan how I want an album to look in parallel to working on the music. What's the message you want people to take away from it? I’d like it to be a positive experience – like the feeling you get when waking from a nice dream. It’s an album to close your eyes and drift away to and music to reflect on. There is a nostalgic tone to the music, which is partly down to the use of some classic 80s/90s Korg synths. It’s also nice when people identify with your influences, and Aspects has been likened to Jean Michel-Jarre or the late Vangelis – two of my major influences. What's next for you? I’m a studio artist, so I’m already thinking about my next project, how I want it to sound, and what I want to build on. Every project is a learning curve, and there is always something in each – musically or technically – which leads on to the next. I also recently released my first collaboration with Ren Faye, a wonderful vocalist. I’d been keen to see my work go in this direction for a while, so hopefully, we’ll be making more tracks together in the future. Twitter Facebook
