Hold onto your emotions in Manoela Wunder's recent release, "Memories," available now on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, ManoelaWunder. We love and appreciate every second of your reflective and emotional new single "Memories." What was the primary source of inspiration behind this personal piece? The primary source of inspiration behind the song was the abrupt end of a collaborative partnership I had with a friend. The falling out had just occurred, and I was trying to process my feelings in the healthiest way possible, which is incredibly difficult to do at first. Could you expand your songwriting process for "Memories?" Did you face any problematic moments when writing such emotional lyrics? My favorite violinist singer-songwriter is Owen Pallett, and the song that initially drew me to them was "E is for Estranged." For my first single, I sought to create a similar sonic experience for the listener by creating a chord progression that loops through the entire song and is centered around a pizzicato violin part. The lyrics came to me naturally as soon as I had decided on a central theme. What was your goal regarding the listener's experience with "Memories?" What do you hope the single does for them? In regards to the listener's experience with "Memories", I hope they are able to connect with the personal nature of the lyrics and relate it to a similar experience they have had. I hope the instrumentation and vocal style take them on the journey of processing one's feelings while reminiscing and longing about the past. What does "Memories" mean to you? "Memories" means trying to get rid of physical memories you have with someone who is no longer in your life while at the same time being haunted by the memories of the moments you shared with them. Throughout this process, hopefully, you are eventually able to heal more naturally by remembering them in a positive way. What's next for you? The music video for "Memories" is out on YouTube, and my new single "Past/Healing" will be released tomorrow! I just wrapped up filming the music video for that single. After that, my third and final single from my upcoming debut album will be released (along with the music video), and I will begin recording my next album. Instagram Facebook

We love the refreshing and melodious ways you've brought with your recent track, "RIC." So what inspired this breezy song? In 2021, I was going through a tough time, and during that time, I learned a lot about myself and the journey that I'm on. Hunger is what drives us to reach our life's goals and to better ourselves each day, so I wanted to showcase that in a song. What was the most rewarding part of creating "RICH?" What did you appreciate most from the experience? The most rewarding part of the creation of the song and video was the feedback from my fans and supporters, who reached out saying the song helped them emotionally. With the current state of the world, music is a way to push people and get them through the day. Whether I inspire only one person or a thousand people - I want them to know that they're not the only ones going through whatever situations they may be going through. What does "RICH" mean to you? How can listeners better understand you and your music through this emotional debut? "Rich”, as both the song and as a word, symbolizes more than just finances - it’s about striving to be sound physically, mentally, and spiritually too. My desire to become these things is in order to be able to take care of not only myself but those around me as well. The listeners can understand how I create my music through "Rich" by understanding that I want to motivate them in addition to making a good song. By always looking forwards instead of backward. How did you want the production and sonics in "RICH" to make listeners feel? What was your goal with the song's overall atmosphere? I wanted the song to feel inspirational to everyone - that they can become someone or accomplish anything they want. At times we may feel like things are moving against us, and we're all constantly battling with something. I wanted to highlight what really matters in life. What's next for you? You're going to have to wait and see! We got more music on the way, but we don't want to rush anything. We know that it's a slow and steady path to our destination, so I'm just taking it day by day. - Maria Alexa Asks For A Sign In A New Single, “Wake Me Up”
Soaring in from New York City is a singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, and dreamer Maria Alexa with her introspective and chilling new single, "Wake Me Up." Maria Alexa has been dedicated to her craft since her very first melody, having participated in choirs, NYSSMA, all-state, all-county, piano lessons, vocal lessons, etc. What started as years of journalling and poetry turned into raw, emotional songs that help listeners feel something deep inside. She hopes her music will impact listeners in a way that they choose to hit play during life's highest and lowest moments. Maria Alexa delivers such palpable emotion and introspective thoughts in her latest single, "Wake Me Up," the beginning of a new era for the NYC-based artist, followed by an EP later this fall. Elaborating on the reflective new single, "Wake Me Up," we're met with gentle piano melodies and Maria Alexa's angelic and calming vocals. As she dives deeper into her lyrical content about needing a wake-up call and a splash of cold water to get her out of this rut, she drifts into the breathtaking hook that blesses us with similarities to acts like Taylor Swift. It's an incredibly soul-soothing and engaging piece that lets listeners shut out the outside world and focus on how Maria Alexa unpacks her emotions in the utmost relatable way. She has no problem expressing her deepest emotions through cohesive lyrics and compelling poetry, and her delicate vocal delivery brings the experience to a whole other tender and dreamy aspect. When you're feeling lost on your journey and need a wake-up call, we have something that'll do the trick. Find Maria Alexa's new single, "Wake Me Up," on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Maria Alexa. We truly appreciate the vulnerability and relatable lyrics you've brought to your single, "Wake Me Up." When did you feel inspired or compelled to create this emotional piece? Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me and learning more about my new single. I've gone through a lot in the last two years, especially last year––2021 was not my year. I lost someone very close to me and my family and continued to struggle with that grief in waves. I was also dealing with a lot of changes in my personal life, and in turn, amplifying my depression and anxiety. But like any good songwriter, I turned that pain into lyrics and eventually into what is now Wake Me Up. What was your goal for the overall sound and vibe of "Wake Me Up?" Did you work with any producers to help achieve your vision? As always, I worked with my friend, writing partner, and producer Gamal––he's worked with me on all of my songs thus far. For the most part, I never go into songwriting with a 'vibe' in mind. I normally write all of my feelings down in my notes app/voice memo to record melodies to match any ideas I have. Oddly enough, a lot of my best songs come from me randomly...in the shower, at the gym, in my dreams, etc. It's always easier when it's not forced but rather fluid. From there, I bring my lyrics/melodies to Gamal and describe to him what exactly I'm feeling. Sometimes I'll show him songs for inspiration, but for the most part, he just gets it. What was your songwriting process like for "Wake Me Up?" How long did it take you to write such deeply emotional and vulnerable lyrics? Honestly, it only took one session [so about 3-4 hours?] to get the lyrics and the basic production down. The song itself, from start to finish, including creative direction, production, rollout strategy, etc., always takes longer. What impact do you want "Wake Me Up" to have on listeners? What do you want them to take away from the song? Like all my songs, I hope people can resonate with my lyrics and listen to it over and over again until it gives them whatever feeling they're looking for. A sense of comfort and reassurance that they're never alone when struggling with anxiety, stress, sadness, loneliness, and the list goes on. What's next for you? I'll be releasing a song every month until the entire project comes out! I'm super excited to get this off the ground, followed by some performances, more songwriting, and then....maybe an album. - Shoot for the Moon & Land Among “Conscious Stars” With Casey Abrams and Sam Stokes
Bringing the stars down from above are singer-songwriters Casey Abrams and Sam Stokes, reminding us that all we are is "Conscious Stars" in their latest single and 9-track album. Both recording artists spent most of 2021 recording and tweaking their collaborative record, Conscious Stars. The two embarked on a recording retreat in Idyllwild, where Abrams grew up. "We thought it would be a great spot to get some inspiration. Between hiking, eating, and making music, we had a great week. Hopefully, you'll hear all of that in this project," he explains. Stokes mentioned how the two "didn't really plan to make an album; it just kind of stumbled out of us." Both share a mutual admiration for each other's craft and work ethic, and listeners can get a dynamic glimpse of what the album has to offer through its 5-minute-long title track, "Conscious Stars." Expanding on the celestial venture, the experience begins with airy and windy samples of nature that shift into Stokes's stunning vocal stylings alongside the warmest electric guitar melodies. As the faint woodwind instrumentals begin seeping through our speakers, Casey Abrams joins in while giving the song an added layer of depth with haunting and twangy acoustic guitar picking. The song's atmosphere on the hook and verses are so different yet so cohesive; they gradually flow into one another while bringing the listener through various peaks and haunting valleys. There's a nostalgic 60s Beatles sound to their instrumentals and vocal harmonies that add a timeless and psychedelic edge. With so much more to experience from Casey Abrams and Sam Stokes, what better way to do so than with their newest album, Conscious Stars? Find the record and the title track, "Conscious Stars," on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Casey Abrams, and Sam Stokes. We loved the unique and dynamic listening experience of your new thoughtful single, "Conscious Stars." What inspired you to create this uplifting and inspirational song? It’s kinda funny, we really believe we made this album by accident. We didn’t set any intention of “hey, let’s make an album” or talked about any specific concepts in advance. We were just two friends playing music late at night and bouncing ideas off each other. One of the points of inspiration we were exploring was the concept of Art Inspiring Art. Sam had been looking at some paintings, drawings, and digital art pieces from friends of hers, and we played with the idea of looking at one of those images while creating music. How does the song "Conscious Stars" represent the album Conscious Stars? How does this song tie the album's concept together? Conscious Stars, the song was like that. We were looking at this incredible painting from Jasmin Giller, and the song went from "not existing" to "fully formed," recorded, orchestrated, and largely produced in a few hours. So much of this process really felt transcendent, and as though stuff was coming through us so quickly, we sometimes didn’t really know what it meant until days or weeks later. That’s the feeling of this whole album, it’s as if you’re floating in a warm lake at the top of a mountain in the middle of the night with an incredible starry sky, and you feel love, and you feel comfort. What sort of sound and vibe did you want to give the song "Conscious Stars?" How would you describe this sound and genre? The best description so far for this sound is “psychedelic folk.” Every song is intentionally very raw, very honest, and very of the moment. The whole album was done in about 2 months. Every time we met, another song popped out. We played every instrument and did all of the lyrics, melodies, and orchestration together. Sam focused on the production aspect and mixing - but every element was absolutely collaborative. There was a profound moment when we were recording All My Friends are Here. This song Casey came to the session with a rough idea of how it should feel. This was before we went to Idyllwild and was the only song we recorded in his Airbnb he was staying for a few weeks. Sam said, “I remember we did a version of this song that we recorded, and all of a sudden, I felt the strong presence of my ego being childish and bruised that I was less needed in this song. Then I had to actively check myself and told my ego to take a walk around the block. Told my ego to get some fresh air. And at that moment, I finally realized what wasn’t working with the first recording and how I could best serve the song to bring us in the direction that felt best. So we did a deep dive into Parliament Funkadelic and Stevie Wonder and shifted the whole flow of that recording and then captured the moment that’s on the record now.” I think that is the essence of this album - this process of removing the self and allowing the muse to speak. How much of the album Conscious Stars was inspired by your recording retreat in Idyllwild? How did nature influence this album? Casey shared about their trip to Idyllwild, where they recorded the bulk of the project, “One day, we decided to go on a recording retreat - which was kind of new for me. So since Sam had never been to Idyllwild before and I grew up there, we thought it would be a great spot to get some inspiration.” Sam said, “We spent most of the day hiking, going to the lake, just exploring nature, and then in the evening, we would record or literally lay on the roof of our Airbnb and look at the stars. It was Heaven. Easily one of my favorite weeks of my entire life.” Casey continued, “Sam is the perfect musical partner. She's humble and knows how to go with the flow with any creative idea. Even though she said she was just learning how to produce music, call it beginners luck, but she knocked the sound out of the park.” What's next for you? We have some ideas in the works - something live, something visual, something audio. But these are all surprises to come. Casey Abrams Instagram Sam Stokes Instagram

Welcome to BuzzMusic Dude Reppin Knowhere, and congratulations on your latest single, "Sneaky Style." Can you start by telling our readers how you would define your latest single, "Sneaky Style?" I tend to pick outfits for functions and shoots the day of. Feeling a vibe can change by the hour, so I’ll throw on something I’m feeling at that moment. Naturally, my style can be tastefully clashy- A lot of my wardrobe consists of bright colors and busy patterns. “Keep it tight or freaky wild”- Freaky wild is velour pants, soccer jerseys, space boots, and holographic shades… and these pieces seamlessly come together in new ways every time. Keepin’ it tight is matching athletic jumpsuits, fit vintage button-ups, maybe a fedora, and an old watch. I tend to lean into the freaky wild more often. . What is important to you when it comes to your fashion and style? I like to feel funky and unique through fashion because my being has funky and unique essence to begin with. If the top or bottom half of an outfit is very loud, I balance it out with something more subdued on my other half. Fitment is key too. Baggy is swaggy, tighter feel fresh, and sophisticated. It’s definitely gotta fit with the right shape and all. Also, most of my closet is thrifted- I enjoy continuing the story of the life of the clothing and feeling its energy from previous wearers. What was the main source of inspiration when writing and recording "Sneaky Style?" Why? This song happened fast. It’s like we were meant to make it for years and finally did that night. There’s this great balance between funky fresh dope, and goofy fun silly, which we intended to capture in the beat, lyrics, delivery, and finally, the video. Why? Because the Void, because Knowhere. What's the message you'd like people to take away from "Sneaky Style?" Do you fully. What's next for you? More recording. I’m spewing at the seems. Instagram Facebook
- Alexander Black Starts the Conversation on Latest Single “Good Times (Don't Stay the Night)”
"Good Times (Don't Stay the Night)" is a sexy pop-punk song by Australian singer and songwriter Alexander Black. This fresh tune is upbeat and energetic, featuring remarkable instrumentals and a voice that sounds familiar. Alexander Black is a talented musician from Adelaide who skillfully blends pop production and singer-songwriter craft to create upbeat music with deep significance. Alexander hopes his music will relate to listeners and challenge preconceived heteronormative notions about queer narratives and queerness in our culture. Alexander draws inspiration from artists such as The 1975, The Japanese House, and singer-songwriters like Phoebe Bridgers and Bob Dylan. He wants to utilize his music to encourage emotional development and understanding. Alexander writes music that speaks to his younger self, offering advice and inspiring confidence in discovering your self. In his latest single, "Good Times (Don't Stay the Night)," Alexander Black analyzes how the heteronormative expectation that you sleep in the same bed as a midnight affair is subverted. This exciting song is not just a fast-paced banger. It carries the deep meaning of how isolated the feeling this expectation causes and that it is not something queer people typically discover but an expectation to stick to. Alexander Black examines a fresh way of thinking that departs from every "ideal" that has been thrust upon by society. This song is a fresh view of the old and out-of-date viewpoints on sexual and romantic relationships. The ideal A-romantic hit in the era of the Internet is "Good Times (Don't Stay the Night)," a pop banger that promises to be a complete hit. "Good Times (Don't Stay the Night)" has an energetic and uplifting vibe that can help you let loose and unwind. The sexy lyrics are enticing and inviting, going on about not staying over after a good time with someone and the resulting conversation. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Alexander Black, and congratulations on your latest hit, "Good Times (Don't Stay THe Night)." What is something you want to say to your past self that you haven’t already through your music? That it’s okay to feel like you don’t see yourself represented in society. Which is something I’m trying to dissect in my current releases. Where do you get the inspiration to create such meaningful music? I’m a chronic over-thinker and an optimist who’s good at getting hurt by people. So songwriting is the only way I feel agency in creating a space to reckon with those ideas and memories. How do you think ‘’Good Times (Don't Stay The Night)’’ will help the queer cause for more understanding and empathy? It definitely highlights a lot of experiences and attitudes that heteronormative people don’t have and might be less able to comprehend. This, in turn, makes it easier to spark conversations about those topics and hopefully allows queer people ways to better explain and define their defiance of certain expectations forced upon them. What is something you are looking forward to sharing with the world with your music? Perseverance in the queer experience. I know it can be very tough, and every day I’m still here, I learn a little bit more about myself and find ways to triumph in queer joy rather than pain or despair. What's the message behind "Good Times (Don't Stay The Night)?" That it’s okay to want to sleep alone in your own bed. And that a-romanticism doesn’t mean you can’t feel or share or give love, but that you just feel it differently. It goes to a wider discussion for me about the permanence of relationships in life but gives room for some nuance and depth. What's next for you? Releasing more songs and taking over the world. - FAUSTOE Stays True to His Hip-Hop Roots in “Dcalcify”
Bringing us back into the prime era of hip-hop is songwriter, rapper, producer, and recording artist FAUSTOE with his hard-hitting and introspective new track, "Dcalcify." FAUSTOE has been influenced by old-school hip-hop since the mere age of 12, prompting him to record, publish and release tracks through SoundCloud. Fast forward to today, after learning to engineer, mix, and master, FAUSTOE has progressed his sound to a whole other level while recognizing that he's still a student of the game and progress is a lifelong venture. More recently, FAUSTOE dives into the sound that influenced him with an old-school meets lo-fi hip-hop banger entitled "Dcalcify." FAUSTOE's reflective bars, alongside the moody and jazzy atmosphere, bring quite a unique layer to this track that's hard to find around the modern hip-hop scene. It's a stellar song that showcases all that FAUSTOE has to offer. Expanding on the new single, "Dcalcify," the song opens with scratchy records that drop into the serene and lush lo-fi/old-school hip-hop beat. On the modern side of things, FAUSTOE delivers similarities reminiscent of Schoolboy Q and an introspective Kendrick Lamar, all while showcasing his tightly-knit. These conceptual bars truly make the listener think twice. All while FAUSTOE spits his bars, the song melts through the speakers with many transitions, record scratches, vocal samples, tender piano melodies, and an undeniably chilling atmosphere. There is so much to hear in this track, and FAUSTOE does an incredible job of making it entertaining and engaging from start to finish. We invite you to experience something familiar, new, and engaging all at once with FAUSTOE's new hit, "Dcalcify," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, FAUSTOE. We love the engaging and introspective atmosphere of your new single, "Dcalcify." Were there any moments or things that inspired you to create this song? Thanks for listening! I'm currently in the works of my upcoming solo album, so this song is a part of the "Side B" set of tracks I'll be releasing. After playing the beat, I had to lock in with the euphoric vibe it gave off, which blended well with my style. You can say the inspiration came from within. I felt this was the right track to put out, for the time being, sort of like a sneak preview of what to expect! What sort of vibe were you looking for in terms of the production for "Dcalcify?" What or who influenced this song's sound? This is the usual sound I like to dabble with. Off the rip, it gave me that raw underground "grungy" vibe, so it was easy to ride the sound waves. I also reached out to a dope artist/homie of mine who goes by the name of "OZZZIE One," who also contributed to the sound with his turntable scratches making it a finished product. Did you produce, engineer, mix, and master "Dcalcify" yourself? What was that process like? The beat was produced by "AWSMEJ". I stumbled upon his catalog while looking for certain sounds one day & came out with more than I expected. You can expect more of his beats on the album as well! Other than the beat, I myself wrote, engineered, mixed & mastered the rest of the body of work. All in all, the process was rewarding, as always. It was definitely a level-up in my catalog, truly giving you a glimpse of what else is to come! What message or theme did you want to get across to listeners with your bars in "Dcalcify?" What did you want them to pick up on? The message is always scattered & given. It can be 1 message, or it can be 7. Things aren't always what they appear to be. Perception plays a big part, but there's a difference between visual & mental perception. De-calcify the Pineal Gland. What's next for you? Staying focused on this album put the right pieces together where they belong so I can deliver a well-packaged product. Working behind the scenes for now, getting music videos lined up as well as setting up all kinds of promo for this anticipated project. Instagram

Accepting the moment you fall for someone new is refreshing. Award-winning recording artist and singer-songwriter Kathryn Cloward "felt elevated, refreshed level of clarification" for what was meant to happen next.
