F. and his new release, "Grab Hold Of Me," available on all streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic C. M. F., and congratulations on your latest release, "Grab Hold Of Me." What inspired the ambient vibes for this epic release? My ex-girlfriend inspired me with the ambient of Grab Hold Of Me. She was a big fan of my music and always requested such type of music. However, she is sadly no longer with us, and listening to my song brings back wonderful memories. It was all about following the vibe and allowing the groove to be very immersive and cinematic. I wanted the music to have an emotional feel that matches the vibe and intensity of the lyrics. The song offers a great balance of emotional pathos and production craft, really creating a stronger connection with the audience. The beat has a solid foundation in the bass drum, which thumps in a four-on-the-floor fashion as the other percussion elements dive deeper into the motion of the track. The synth parts are quite awesome as well, at times creating some lush instrumental hooks that stand out, but for the most part, creating a pleasant background atmosphere that is perfect for the excellent vocal parts to unfold and add more vibe to the overall track. I wanted to create a track highly catchy and organic yet deep and one-of-a-kind. The idea was to create a song that can be sad and upbeat and groovy at the same time”. The sound production is very punchy and direct, and it goes a long way in highlighting the kaleidoscopic fabric of influences that make this song so special. "Grab Hold Of Me" has us dancing till past midnight! What did you want your listeners to take away from this record, and why? I want my listener to take away from Grab Hold Of me that “House music is a feeling” House music feels like dopamine. It’s almost guiltily un-intellectual: the bass, the drums, the vocals — repetitive, shallow, or nonexistent. But in spite of (or maybe because of) its simplicity, deep house music can infuse a subway ride with meaning — a long drive to nowhere with pedal-pumping adrenaline. It is both unapologetically primal and modern. It instills 21st-century life with depth, emotion, and motivation. And it can improve your mental health, focus, and drive right now. There is nothing to cure a bad mood — or crowded commute — like a healthy dose of bass. Listening to music that you like, in general, will release dopamine, which elevates your mood. But there’s something about house music’s depth and repetition that makes it even more unforgiving. It wants to make you feel good. Why not let it? House music has the ability to put you into a trance (even without illicit substances). For me, it can feel like embracing everything we’re told is bad about modern life — the isolation caused by technology, our increasing unwillingness to feel real emotions, and boredom — just for a few minutes of hedonism. People have been suffering for millennia without the ability to put on some headphones and blast deep house music. Why wouldn’t we enjoy it every once in a while? What are some of your favorite moments when performing your records? My main aim is to engage and entertain the audience. But one of my favorite moments is to see people vibe to the song - making them smile and dance to the song. Even if these are newly invented dance styles. Tell us two things you've learned over the years and how it has impacted your life positively? Firstly, my best advice is to accept and appreciate criticism. In the beginning, you have to understand that your music will not be the best it can be. There may be some things that need fixing or do not sound great. You will be turned down by multiple labels and told plenty of times that your music needs work. It’s about listening to all the criticism and using it to improve your work. What's next for you? My goals are to always keep improving on my music and hopefully collaborate with a wider variety of artists and producers, such as Jewels, Joel Corry, SOMMA, and many more. I have a few other releases planned for this year. I’m also working on my first EP too, so hopefully, that will be ready by the end of the year. Instagram

  • Sole Oceanna Flaunts Her Stuff With Her New Single, “Not Feelin’ It”

Sole Oceanna, a punk-pop critically acclaimed artist, has us vibing with her latest single, "Not Feelin' It," co-written by Sebastian Garcia, aka Rufio Hooks. Rufio saw a lot of potential in Sole’s project and helped her pen "Not Feelin' It" along with Sean Rogers from HeyWorld Productions, who also produced this track. Sean is known for his top-producing skills, and combining them has brought us a magnificent record. Sole Oceanna stands in her authority to say no and wants to inspire people to stand firm in their thoughts and decisions. "Not Feelin' It" gives us that sassy, bad girl energy we adore. Sole Oceanna was assisted by Rufio and Sean, two of the most well-known people in their line of work. They articulated "Not Feelin' It" so well and courage people to stand up for themselves. The vocals remind us of an early Demi Lovato with that punk-pop style that takes us back to a time we surely miss. As Sole presents "Not Feelin' It," she immediately mentions that she isn't in the mood for people's drama and her energy and vibe are everything. She notes how she won't allow herself to be ill-treated in lyrics like "Im not tryna burst your bubble" and "But your vibe, I'm just not feelin' it." She proves that with her vocals and an epic production team, you can create a record with vibes, truth, and most of all, engagement, which is precisely what we need. As we continue, Sole says how men feel they can be in your space even though you don't want them to, and she tells us how she's not going to allow that, regardless of who they are. She then jokingly talks about his outfit, which gives us a little giggle, and as I know, we can all relate to that. She ends it with the most catchy chorus we've heard in a while and lyrics we can shout out loud! She is fast on her way to stardom, as "Not Feelin' It" already shows us that. Let's vibe with Sole Oceanna and her new hit single "Not Fellin' It," available now on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic Sole. We are also so happy to have you join us today! We can't get enough of "Not Feelin' It" tell us what was the inspiration behind this song, and how did the 3 of you link up when creating the record? I feel like girls needed a song to hype them up and help them feel their power. The song is all about being able to say, “No!”. It’s ok to say no! Just do your thing! Sometimes you’re not feelin’ it! When people hear this song, I want them to feel confident and on top of the world. You can do anything :D. The artists that helped inspire this song are Cardi B, Doja Cat, and Lizzo. We linked up through my management team, Circle 11 Entertainment. Sean Rogers from Heyworld Productions is an amazing producer, so he started making the beat, and Rufio and I started writing. I started with the phrase, “Excuse me? mommy? sorry,” (this was a trend that teens were saying to tell you that you’re really fine). And right when I came up with that, we knew it could be something! It all came from there. It was truly a blast. Being an artist and performer, what would you say was one of the most challenging moments in your career, and how did you deal with it? Going to the studio in Nashville. I was 14, and we needed to have five finished songs in only seven days! So it was a lot of pressure. I was so tired by the end because I had worked my butt off. I barely knew the songs. I was reading them off of my phone, so I was kind of guessing every note, and I still had to bring my best vocals and energy to it. In one day, we had to make a cool beat, create the melody, write all the lyrics, and record demos. Then I had to go home and learn that song one night, wake up and go back to the studio the next morning and sing the main vocals to the song we had written the day before. Each day was the same for all five songs. Then the last day, I had to sing all of the background vocals, the harmonies, and stuff to make it fancy. Towards the end, we were trying one part over and over and over again and couldn’t get it right. I was so tired. My producer was like, “That’s enough. We’re not doing this anymore. We’re scraping this song.” I would have never been able to live with the fact that I couldn’t do it and that I only made 4 of the five songs, so… My dad would take me outside and he would tell me to run as fast as I could around the lawn to wake up, and let loose again, and to scream to get the hype so that I could bring myself back to be strong and present to finish the recording. I’m proud that I pushed myself to have all five songs! It was so complex and tiring, but I also loved it. It was one of the best experiences of my life. "Not Feelin' It" gives us endless vibes and bad girl energy. What was it like in the studio when recording the song? Could you explain the feelings felt? The energy was very high. It was Sean, Mom, Dad, and myself, and they were all excited for me. I’m used to writing and singing ballads, so this was a turn for me. It took me a little bit to get into it, but really once it clicked, It was easy for me to do it. I’ve always been super sassy. My dad would call me fiery and feisty, so that shows in the song. All my songs tap into the deep emotions in me, like whatever the vibe is of a song I put out, it’s not only a vibe, but it's one of my emotions and feelings. During the recording process, I felt hyped, sassy, happy, a little nervous, and confident, so it was a lot of mixed emotions. At times I couldn’t get the right attitude I needed for “Not Feelin’ it.” My dad would tell me to pretend I was mad at him. He would say, “Swear at me and get it all out” (that was the only time my dad would let me swear at him. I took that opportunity and ran with it… hahaha.) And we would listen to Cardi B to get the vibe. After that, I would go back into the studio booth with that hype and yell at the mic while I was singing the words. At that point, I would just kill it cause the energy was so high. What did you want your current fans or new fans to take away from this record, and why? I want them to feel like the Goddess they are! I want the song to bring out your inner badass….to feel powerful, cause you are! It’s important to feel in your power. That’s a really big thing for me. Don't let people control you. It’s your life, and you have the right to control how it goes. #yourbodyyourchoice What's next for you? I want to put out my full EP. I have four more songs to release. Once it takes off, I really wanna go on my first tour! I would do some local shows, then go to Boston, then NYC, than LA! So kinda work my way up. I want to go back into the studio again to make some more songs. My whole life, I've wanted to be a “rockstar!” Instagram TikTok

Hip-hop recording artist D. Edge is back and ready to attack alongside producer Woodro Skillson and videographer JCinque for their stimulating new music video for "Shadow Clone Jutsu." D. Edge is a Brooklyn-based emcee who's had poetry and freestyling coursing through his veins from a young age. He's a wildly experimental act and definitely one to keep an eye on. He can rap about anything he puts his mind to, constantly proving that he's a timeless and timely artist all at once. Recently releasing his new music video for "Shadow Clone Jutsu," the song and his recent project 'BARUTO UZUMAKI' is the artist's take on the popular anime series Naruto. He teamed up with the innovative New Jersey producer Woodro Skillson who's worked with notable acts like Jhene Aiko, MGK, Kid Cudi, and Dai Burger. Shooting the music video was none other than Brooklyn-based videographer and entrepreneur JCinque, who's established his brand The CREAM and worked with BET, MTV, Hypebeast, A$AP Ferg, and many more. Touching on the music video for "Shadow Clone Jutsu," the boys instantly take us to a party we wish we were invited to. In the open purple fields lies a crew that's ready to turn up. D Edge wastes no time flooding the scene with his dominant and powerful bars that shake our speakers alongside Woodro Skillson's fiery production. We can honestly say that everybody showed up and did their part perfectly in this single and music video; even the extras know how to keep the party alive. Get your dose of stimulation through D. Edge's latest music video for his hit, "Shadow Clone Jutsu," now available on YouTube. Make sure to keep up with D. Edge, Woodro Skillson, and JCinque on their socials. Welcome to BuzzMusic, D. Edge. You've stopped us dead in our tracks with your flaming hot music video for "Shadow Clone Jutsu." What inspired you to create this lively yet intense party atmosphere and vibe? The concept is my take on one of Naruto's signature moves where he is unpredictable, expressive, and goes wild. When creating this record, I thought it could be a record where people express themselves and wild out. The Woodro produced record is experimental because it has elements of electronic, metal, and hip hop, so it's already unique in its own right. I wanted the video to convey a rave-like atmosphere mixed with a mosh pit vibe and have fans not knowing what happens next, representing the core elements I initially mentioned. I wanted this video to be fun and expressive, and I truly believe we accomplished it. What was your experience working with renowned producer Woodro Skillson for the song "Shadow Clone Jutsu?" Woodro and I return to our meeting at the Brewery Recording Studio in Brooklyn (shoutout to Andrew Krivonos). I was working in a session with theycallmeParker, and I saw him sitting outside and invited him in. We started choppin' it up while drinking, and we've been cool. Woodro's a very down-to-earth guy who is a talented producer, songwriter, engineer, and instrumentalist that isn't scared to push the boundaries in sound. He's a living legend that amazes me with his musical knowledge and innovativeness. Regarding Shadow Clone Jutsu, I knew I wanted something different sounding than my previous songs. I told Woodro what I felt the concept sounded like, and he delivered big time. The song itself doesn't sound like anything currently released. Regarding the music video for "Shadow Clone Jutsu," how did videographer JCinque help execute what you had in mind? Did he capture the vibe you wanted to offer? JCinque is a personable guy who is attentive to detail, artistic, very organized and isn't scared to take chances. We met through a mutual homie, my frequent collaborator SMTH, and we've been copacetic ever since. We always discuss plans before shooting a video because he envisions visuals like a movie director wanting things to be handled methodically. He also builds on my ideas and breaks down what's needed and how we'll approach every shoot, which is great to know as a creative. JCinque always shoots movies that exceed my expectations and constantly thinks of angles that I initially didn't think of. He was able to masterfully incorporate all the emotions I wanted people to feel in the visual. He is one of one and is that guy! What was your favorite part about creating the "Shadow Clone Jutsu" music video? What did you take away from the process? My favorite part was everyone having a good time, whether it be wildin' out, shooting each other with paint cannons, moshing and such. Just the energy and vibe I felt like took the video to another level! I took away from the process to remain innovative and continue my path. Being a musician isn't easy, but when you see your vision come together- it inspires you to continue your creative journey. What's next for you? My goal for the remainder of this year is to be consistent with music, content, and visuals. First, I'm working on finishing my seven-song EP BARUTO UZUMAKI, which will drop in early July. The project will feature production from Woodro Skillson, U-Dub, BEATDEMONS, J-Banga, and JustRyda and features from Woodro Skillson and Famo of DaCompany. I also have an insane animated video for the song T$unade in the works by the talented Julian Clove on the way, dropping around the same time. I'm also working on some summer projects that I aim to drop in August and September, featuring production from theycallmeParker, Woodro Skillson, DJ Reese, RAH the Gift, and others. • Kasie O Tells Us How She Got Through A Rough Breakup With, "Over you"

Kasie O puts us into a different frame of mind as she has us dancing and relating to her simultaneously in her new hit single, "Over you." Kasie, currently based in Boston, is a relatable singer and songwriter that combines elements like Afro-Pop and R&B to create a polished yet catchy track full of passion and emotion with just as much confidence. Kasie grew up very cultured as she grew up in an Igbo household, heavily influenced by her Nigerian culture while growing up in the United States. As a result, Kasie's songwriting started very young and grew up furthering her career and love for singing in school and church. Kasie appears to be exhibiting her feelings widely on "Over you," as her voice molds into the instrumental like a fast and furious island mix of drums and flourishing keys. She talks about things she got tired of when she was in the relationship, like "Sick of your lying" and "Sick of your fighting." Kasie is proving to us that no matter what, we can and will get through tough times in a breakup and that we do indeed deserve better! As we continue with "Over you," Kasie tells us how much time she wasted on someone who wasn't worth it and how she cannot lose herself loving someone who doesn't see the value in her. Her catchy, melodious vocals pull us up and into a safe space to vent and dance simultaneously, just as most choose to. We seem to relate to most parts for many reasons, like when she says, "I don't want to compete for you" and "Im just fed up with loving you," whether we went through it or are going through it right now. Kasie O takes us on a cloud as she exits with the most addicting vocals and says, "Im not waiting for you no more," in the most casual yet confident way, and that makes her a true queen by heart! Kasie, could you expand more on your songwriting process for "Over you." Do you face any difficult moments when writing about emotional experiences? I for sure do because sometimes it takes me days or even weeks to finish a song because it’s coming from such an emotional experience in my life. Sometimes I have to take some time to finish. Did you create "Over you" in hopes that your listeners could find something to relate with? What did you want your audience to experience? I wrote this song because I know we as people have been in situations like this before and wanted listeners to know that we have all been there before. How can your listeners relate to you more personally with "Over you"? How does this record represent you? Well, I would say just listen to the lyrics the music speaks for itself Im someone who loves to be loved, but when it’s time to let things go, you just have to let them go, don’t keep wasting your time. Be Strong, and take charge. instagram.com/therealkasieo

  • Castle KYD Speaks on His Experience With “Melatonin”

Idaho-hailing alternative-indie artist and singer-songwriter Castle KYD started writing music in his bedroom purely because he wanted to vent. At the time, there was no one to talk to, so he decided to write it all down. As time progressed, he kept his writing secret but could no longer do so as he started attending open mics and had to get people involved. Castle KYD creates music to relate to his listener and uses his musical exploration as a coping mechanism. Castle KYD has always been inspired and slightly envious of the artists who could be more vulnerable on their records. As we embark on the journey called "Melatonin," we are introduced to the track with an eerie sound which is then met up with the most dreamy guitar and KYD's bold, enchanting lyrics. He starts by mentioning how he's not good for this girl and how it's killing him to know she cannot fully put her faith in him. Castle KYD continues on in the chorus to say how the "Melatonin" sinks away as it leaves the body, he speaks on it so openly, and we can tell it's because of a personal experience and feelings that he needs to release. We continue on as KYD's "Melatonin" streak as he tells us how people's words kept reminding him of times he wanted to forget and how they should just have had faith in him. As we end off on this emotional note, we remember how KYD proved himself with a picture-perfect match of vocals and a beat individually unique to him. "Melatonin" feeds us our emotional food, and Castle KYD finishes it off with a bang, a very remarkable one. Instagram Facebook

  • MaJiK MC Speaks On The Importance Of Overlooked Issues In, "Who Do I Call?"

MaJiK has us hooked with his peculiar lyrics, overriding the norm, while he speaks on overlooked issues, and he never seems to sway away from his initial thoughts. His drive and grit in his voice show as he flourishes in his new record, "Who Do I Call?" MaJiK, A Vietnamese-Chinese American poet and mc based in the great Los Angeles, writes music to process situations and experiences in his own life. In his everyday life, he helps manage an open mic in the historic Filipinotown called Recess Mic, one of the programs they have in Palms Up Academy, an inclusive arts and creative collective. He hopes to be where he can provide opportunities and resources for people to discover who they are and develop into their best selves, the same way Hip-Hop and writing have done for him. "Who Do I Call?" is MaJiK's latest release with massive messages and complex topics and subjects about black history and being oppressed in the past and low-key in the present day. Speaking from a place of pain and passion, he delivers quality verses with substance, keeping you glued to each line. Often overlooked, the issues encountered daily as a human race are futile and destructive. So many of us look toward hip-hop as a source of perspective and influence; keeping that in mind, MaJiK chooses to inform the masses on the deeper issues we face. He is struggling to wrap his mind around the law and its rules and integrity, explaining why they're the epidemic and the cause of fathers being taken away from their children, making sure they're targeting the underprivileged. He explained why the darker the pigment, the more complex the charge for the person and how unfair that is in the real world. The corruption and evil deeds that get brushed off by the law and their lack of care for acts done by the law to innocent people. "Is that public service, or y’all just running business? Abolish the whole system" - we understand his impatience with the law entirely. Fulfilled and ambitious MaJiK MC has our speakers on blast with his new single "Who Do I Call?" available now on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic MaJiK. We are so pleased to have you join us today! We love "Why Do I Call?" please tell us how the song came about and how was the creative process behind it? The song "Who Do I Call?" came about as the protest against police brutality and the murder of George Floyd was happening. I had just released my 2nd album, The Gold Album, but this moment was more urgent and more important to be a part of. The throughline was "Defund The Police," and as I participated in some of the marches and protests in LA, I learned what we were asking and how we could achieve what we wanted. And so I wrote the song with my truths of how I felt in the moment, what I was seeing was the problems, and what alternatives and solutions we could come up with. I reached out to my boy Fuzzzy, and he helped cook up the beat based on the reference I had. We went in and recorded my verse in his studio, and then he added flourishes as he mixed the song and sang up the hook in the middle. A lot of the time, I have the sense of urgency to write, and then it comes together into a song, and that's how this came about. As a straightforward artist with unique lyrics in your song "Who Do I Call?" What did you want your listeners to take away from the record, and why? I wanted the listeners to hear and understand the frustration going on inside me, the plea for humanity in myself and my brothers and sisters who are constantly in threat of danger from who we have given authority to, and I'm hoping we can come to an understanding and collaborate to create better systems that live up to the equality this country is supposed to stand for. Being in LA is probably so enjoyable; what are some moments you want to share with us that brought you closer to music or assisted in getting your music out there? I'm actually a part of a collective Named Palms Up Academy @palmsupacademy on IG, and we have an open mic every Wednesday night with a variety of artists from comedians to magicians and poets, dancers, emcees, and singer-songwriters. There's this thing called B-Sides where our host Arianna Lady Basco brings open micers to come back up based on what's resonated in the evening and have them collaborate with the pieces that they shared. So much happens and gets discovered in those moments, whether you're a part of it or witnessing it. Being different from the rest is vital. How has being different changed your perspective on how you view things now compared to your younger years? Growing up in a predominantly Asian and Hispanic community in the San Gabriel Valley, I saw nuances in how we were to each other, and being a Vietnamese/Chinese American, I saw how the Chinese and Vietnamese treated each other as well. A lot of our own biases are conditioned in us. As I got older and I was able to see the world and how people are treated throughout cultures, I found it easier for me to understand the power structures and how the ideas of others are perpetuated to advance the agendas and narratives of those in power. Now that I'm older, it's becoming more important and more urgent for me to stand up and speak out against bigotry, hate, unfair treatment, and bullying rather than standing by feeling helpless. I am aware of the darkness, and I'm just trying to shine to be a mirror to amplify the light inside all of us. I hope to unite and strengthen our voices, and collectively, we can care for one another and protect each other. What's next for you? Next up, I am building a studio in Azusa, NFNT Studios. No Failure, No Triumph. It will be a multi-creative space fit for dance classes, workshops, video and photography shoots, streaming and podcasting, and a recording studio. I'll be recording and releasing my next full project, "King Ngo," in my own studio. I hope to provide a space that cultivates culture and community and provide resources for folks to discover themselves and become their best version. Instagram

Available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Ginger May! We love your new single, "Me and You." Can you tell us a little about your songwriting process? That is a pretty hard question. I (Tanya) just have the songs in my head from the beginning. I'd rather say all of my songs are reactions to events that occur in my life. I never write about something that I haven't experienced. Like, for example, "Me and You:" I created in true love. If you are interested how exactly do I write my songs? Well, usually the melody comes first. The best ones come in the shower. I don't know why "Me and You" came to me when I had a pedicure. And when I have time I take my guitar and create the bone of the song. After we create the arrangement with Satoshi Higashida. And go to the studio to practice with the band. What was the inspiration behind "Me and You"? As I've mentioned before I only write songs about true events or feelings. And "Me and You" is no exception. Maybe you know that feeling as if you found your soulmate when you are happy together and it feels like you are boozy with this happiness. When I was in that state, the song just came to my head literally from the beginning till the end. I believe "Me and You" is my personal anthem of love. I also would like to mention that there were 2 songs that inspired me most. The first one is KISS "I was made for lovin' you". If you've listened to the song, you've probably noticed some similarities. And the second one is Madonna "Like a prayer". This song really reflects my state of love. I think it's very easy to find references to these songs in our new single What was the most challenging part about creating this song? Surprisingly we didn't have any challenges with this song. Creating process went pretty smooth and unexpectedly fast. I believe that is because we all were inspired. Although we spend more time than expected recording the song. What's the message you'd like people to take away from "Me and You"? I just hope that people can relate to this song. That would mean they also experienced this awesome feeling of love. And I am very happy for them. It does not often happen that we can find this sort of connection with partners. And if you can that is amazing. Try to save it throw your relationship. What's next for you? This song was our first single with Messins Records, the label we are working with since the end of the last year. And currently, we are preparing for recording some new songs. I'm not sure that they will be as positive as "Me and You" but we shall see. What we really are going to do is to keep the same funky genre. Instagram

Welcome to BuzzMusic HVNNIBVL, thank you for joining us today - we are in love with "Do It Again", please tell us what the inspiration was behind this record and how was the writing process was like? Thank you, really happy you’re Viking with it. “Do it Again” was an interesting record to create. When it started, I was just making a lot of beats during the pandemic. I was really stressed, as were most people, and most of the sounds I was working with veered to be a little darker. One day I just had a melody idea that was a lot more cheerful than anything else I was doing, and I voice memo’d it and started producing a beat around it. I worked really hard to get the song recorded and mixed to sound the way it does - it took a couple months to actually get it all finished because I also was adapting the way I was mixing and recording. I wanted something with more body to it, which comes a lot from the low-mid frequency range. We noticed many pop elements in "Do It Again", is this a genre you'll continue to dabble in or will there be a point where you'll spread your wings and try different genres? The song is very heavy with acoustic guitar samples because originally it actually had a much more Indie sound, but then the more lyrics started coming to me I changed the percussive elements to be more Hip Hop, which obviously is primarily what defines Pop right now. I’d say in general what defines “Pop” is what makes a song’s potential to be “popular” at the time, which in most cases is the formatting / song structure and the content within the lyrics. I’ve always thought of myself as a Pop artist for that reason, but I am definitely always utilizing different sounds that can make something maybe sound more Dance or Hip Hop or Rock (hint hint), etc. There is a sense of an emotional situation. Tell us what you wanted to bring across to your listeners in this record? Realistically I just wanted to make something relatable - I do describe myself as more of a Pop artist because I try to say things that I think people can relate to, and right now a lot of people are in a bit of a sadder place with everything that’s been happening over the past 2 years. I wanted to be able to relay that no matter how much you want something, sometimes it won’t work - relationships are often one of those things, and sometimes I think the facade of social media makes it seem like things are going perfectly for everyone, when realistically people are going through these things every day. If you had time to learn a new instrument to improve your music, what would it be and why? I 100% wish I could play the guitar. If you listen closely to most of my music, including this song, you will hear a lot of guitar either as a lead element or in the background. I know enough about the intricacies of guitar sounds to get things to sound natural in production, however it would be a lot more beneficial if I had the ability to play it all and not inject layers of sounds. The track number in my songs would certainly be a lot smaller. That said, I’m going to have a lot of real guitar as a part of upcoming production. Instagram Facebook

  • Jump Into the “Mosh Pit” With Hvnnibvl and Keioh’s New Single

From Buffalo to Los Angeles, pop recording artist, producer, and singer-songwriter Hvnnibvl invites us to wash our sorrows away in a "Mosh Pit" alongside Sydney-born artist and producer Keioh. Hvnnibvl first took the music scene by the horns in 2014 with anthemic and vibrant pop tunes. He went on to amass millions of streams while opening for acts like Lil Uzi Vert, blackbear, Poppy, THEY., and more. After relocating to Los Angeles and headlining spots at UCLA, The Satelite, and more, Hvnnibvl has quickly become an artist to keep an eye on. The same goes for featured artist Keioh in their latest single, "Mosh Pit." Known for blurring the lines between r&b, hip-hop, and lo-fi, Keioh's anthemic and punchy production alongside Hvnnibvl's expressive vocals make this song a true treat for the ears. Expanding on the new single, "Mosh Pit," the experience opens with Hvnnibvl's warm and crisp vocals alongside thrilling rhythm guitar riffs and twinkling instrumentals that throw us into a lively hook. Listening to Hvnnibvl's emotion-rich vocals, he expands on feeling like he's losing control and trying to navigate through a killer mosh pit. It's an incredibly cathartic song that dances the lines between punk rock and pop with sharp production and thrilling organic instrumentals that hit us with the force of rock. Hvnnibvl's performance is so gripping; he uses every ounce of energy to grab our attention and express those built-up emotions while trying to get someone out of his head once and for all. When you're ready to throw your elbows through the mosh pits of life, hit play on Hvnnibvl and Keioh's new single, "Mosh Pit," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Hvnnibvl. We adore the emotion-rich and high-energy atmosphere you've created with your new single, "Mosh Pit." What inspired this highly cathartic and expressive single? I’ve always liked Pop Punk - I was a huge fan of both Green Day and Fall Out Boy for a large part of my youth. The genre got replaced in the mainstream with EDM and Hip Hop, but now you’re seeing artists start to blend Pop Punk with those genres or entirely just bring it back to the mainstream. So, I figured this was my chance to do the same and make an angsty, Pop Punk tune with a hint of Hip Hop. What was it like working alongside Sydney-born artist Keioh for "Mosh Pit?" What was your collaborative experience like? Keioh is a phenomenal guitar player and overall musician. Originally I was just doing to do sampling work with the guitars, but he took a listen to the demo and said he wanted to recreate the parts on the real guitar. So I let him run with it and he gave me some unreal guitar parts to throw into my mix. I actually have a show in Los Angeles at The Peppermint Club on July 30th and he’s going to be playing guitar for the set, which includes “Mosh Pit”. Do you usually create such anthemic nods to punk rock, like your recent single "Mosh Pit?" Is this expressive and familiar sound a staple for you? Honestly, no. This was my first time going full-fledged Pop Punk on a song. I’ve always known I could make this style of music, but I never saw the opening to do so until now. The next closest thing in my catalog that even slightly comes close to this song is my single “Losin My Mind”, but that is far more of a laid-back head-nodder. “Mosh Pit” is really special to me because of how big of a change and risk it was to put something like this out - there’s no way anyone in my fan base would have thought this was coming. What was the most rewarding part about creating and releasing "Mosh Pit?" What did you get out of the experience? Being a producer and engineer as well, I’d say the most rewarding part of this song was having the final product come out the way it did sonically. I’ve spent some serious hours producing and mixing this track because using Rock instrumentation is so far from anything I’ve ever had to mix or make. There were definitely some moments where I had no idea if I was going to be able to get a quality result out of this song and do it the justice that I knew it deserved, but eventually, I got it. I’m really happy with how it turned out and have gotten really cool feedback so far - so who knows, maybe now that I’ve done this once I can make another. HVNNIBVL Instagram Keioh Instagram

  • Strawberry Swing Takes On An Exciting Storytelling Record, "Bennie (Won't Dance)"

Strawberry Swing locks us in for their new thrilling, uptempo release, "Bennie (Won't Dance)." Strawberry Swing (Mark Griffin and Nima Dehghani), the Iranian-born and Sydney-bred duo, fuse their wide range of influences from Billy Joel and Coldplay to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Gil Scott-Herin. As Mark puts it, “Strawberry Swing is a strange brew of everything Nima and I bring to the table, but, at its heart, it’s pop music with live instruments, the way your mama likes it.” Self-produced and curated for the most epic listening experience, Strawberry Swing presents Nima’s groovy keys, Mark’s cheeky lyrics, and their modern pop played old-school, with a distinct strawberry flavor. "Bennie (Won't Dance)" is a record not to miss out on, showing exactly everything the talented duo can provide sonically. Strawberry Swing kicks off their latest single with a suspenseful instrumental drum roll and guitar introduction to lead us toward the opening line. Then, the storytelling begins, and our ears are already engulfed in the harmonic and versatile, meshed sounds displayed. The electrifying vocal presence and lyrics like "Have a groovy time" help enhance the euphoric vibes to match the beautifully orchestrated production driving this record. 'Bennie' (the subject of this record) inspired an entire sonic story about how a woman feels about him and his actions toward her. "Bennie won't dance with me" gets repeated in the chorus in the most upbeat part of this record, making for a catchy dance vibe for your Saturday night. Time to get down and wild with Strawberry Swing and their new startling single, "Bennie (Won't Dance)," available on all streaming platforms. We are ecstatic to have you with us today! We love your new record "Bennie (Won't Dance)" tell us what the creative process was like and how long it took to complete it? So Bennie was actually the first song Nima, and I wrote together. We wrote it even before we were Strawberry Swing, so back in 2019. Nima came around, and he had these stabs and this little groove. I’d just bought “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” on vinyl, so the first thing I thought when I heard the open chord was, “Bennie!”. It didn’t really sound like that, but it was in my head now, so I started riffing lyrics about Bennie and trying to jam in as many classic rock references as possible. We decided to swing the chorus, so we did this double-time swing thing and then made the vocal hook this old-school simple repetitive thing. When we started Strawberry Swing just after we wrote it, it quickly became one of our live staples, and over time we tidied up the opening stabs to make them hit harder, and the chorus turned into this call and response chant with the audience. We recorded it end of last year, and it was fast because we’d played it live so many times. Cara (aka meadowhip) had been performing live with us for like a year at that point, so it was a no-brainer to feature her as the singer, and then we got our guitarist at the time, Nate (he’s on bass duties now) to wail at a solo and this was it. I think we had all of the instruments down in two takes, and then it was just doing some vocal stacks, so it was like a day in the studio. We had our mate Ben Cauduro mix and master and through some bass on it, and it was ready to go.— Mark. "Bennie (Won't Dance)" has daring elements attached to it; what did you want to bring across to your fans in this single, and why? I think we wanted to bring a bit of old-school production to the track. It’s got a bit of a throwback rock ‘n’ roll vibe, and playing ‘pop’ (in the broadest sense) with live instruments is kind of our thing, so I guess we wanted to lean into that. So it’s played to a click but not quantized (digitally corrected for time, sort of like auto-tune for timing). It sounds how we played it, which gives it a slightly ragged human quality. And then we also added that solo which I guess you don’t hear as much these days, although I think guitar solos are coming back in a little. And then I suppose the other daring element is the vocals, we tracked three layers of vocals which are fairly standard. That way, you can pan one left, one right, and then have one center or whatever, but normally only one is prominent in the mix, but when we sent it to Ben to be mixed, they were all at the same level, and he thought that sounded cool. So he leaned into it and did this wall-of-sound thing with the vocals and then added some Cars style stereo-effects in the bridge, and we just really liked it. But yeah, we were trying to bring a lot of energy to the track with the recording and production. It’s our big crowd participation song live, so we wanted it to have that energy.— Mark How has music changed for you over the years compared to when you started out? We’re still pretty new as an act, but the big thing for us has been starting out during a pandemic. When we started, there were lockdowns, and capacity limits, and all our early gigs were sitting down only. So just being able to have people stand up and dance at shows is a big change. The other big change is probably TikTok. Even back in 2019/20, when we started, it was all about Instagram, and now everything is about TikTok, so that’s been something new to get our heads around.— Mark Strawberry Swing is such a cool name! Please tell us how it was chosen and why? I think Strawberry Swing was one of the first names I threw out when we were brainstorming, but I immediately rejected it because of the Coldplay song. But Nima latched on to the fruit thing, and I liked the swing, so I was trying to do something with peaches for ages. But yeah, Strawberry Swing was just too good a name, so we circled back to it eventually and decided even with the Coldplay song, it just worked. — Mark What's next for you? We’re about to record our next single, so that should be out around September/October, and then maybe a Live EP. We’ll see! Instagram
