  • Watch The Delaware Worship Collective “Takeover”

Starting in March 2021, Drew Scott and Adrian Carmona started the Delaware Worship Collective. With over 500 attendees at their first three shows, what began as a small group of local creatives coming together for a writing session quickly evolved overnight into the Delaware Worship Collective, or DWC as they like to say. Their desire and vision God has placed on Drew and Adrian for DWC are of collectivity, community, collaboration, unity, inspiration, and heart. DWC’s mission is to show the world the kingdom of God by uniting people through worship. The DNA of this collective is to love people where they are, embrace the diversity and inclusivity of creativity within the bounds of our biblical foundation and beliefs, nurture and inspire growth in creatives, and work hard without striving. There’s a dazzling warmth from the acoustic guitar strums commencing the single “Takeover.” With a unique live-off-the-floor touch, an immense amount of passion fuels the unity heard on this record. We find the outcome of a live recording brings such an organic amalgamation of talent from artists in their natural environment that we never turn down the opportunity to bask in the ambiance. In the artistic components featuring Adrian Carmona and Rashid Saint-Fleur, the upbeat energy surging through our speakers illuminates optimism and buoyancy. We’re exposed to a vast amount of this on “Takeover,” as it plays into the strong will and characteristic charm of all from DWC. Inspiring us to be more aware of our faith and allowing us to feel the notion of opening up that much more, DWC welcomes us into the hope they radiate with lyrical motifs like “With just one touch, you ravish me. You look into my heart, transfigurate my life.” What DWC does to spread the message of the Lord is truly influential. Hooked on the community aspect of what they stand for, record-producing sweet croons such as “Takeover” have won us over. There are many artistic components to dissect with a track of this caliber. Let’s start with how the relationship between yourselves and Adrian Carmona and Rashid Sain-Fleur came to be. What was it like working with them on this song? DWC is a collective of many creatives including songwriters, worship leaders, musicians, Photographers, and so many others, Fortunately, Adrian and Rashid are both a part of our team, as we started to workshop this song we knew right away that the contrast in Adrian and Rashid's vocal tone would perfectly complement each other on this song. There is plenty of creativity to go around in DWC. Could you please dive into what the creative process looked like when bringing this song to life? DWC's creative process is centered around truth and integrity. We workshop songs line by line to ensure that we are being true to the message, the Word of God, that inspires our songs. This was an easy one because, as it turns out, Adrain has been singing this song for years whenever he has gone out to sing. When Adrian presented this as an option for our album we all loved the message behind the song but thought hey what would happen if we flipped it by making it upbeat instead of the mid-tempo version Adrain has done in the past, better yet what would it sound like with both Adrain and Rashid featured? Thank God the team's input was taken seriously and ended up yielding this version of "Takeover" that people are learning and loving. What is the main message that you’d like your audience to take away from “Takeover?" The song "Takeover" has become an anthem for our team and an anthem wherever we sing it. We want the listener to know that with "one touch" or one moment with God, His love can change everything. His love can and will provide true Joy. Letting His love "Takeover" is like nothing else in the world. What can your audience expect from your album “DWC Vol. 1 Nothing But Jesus?" DWC Vol 1, Nothing But Jesus is the debut album from our team and it is really a glimpse into the heart of our community and the sound of our team. This album gives you almost everything you need from a Christian/gospel project. We have songs like "Takeover" that are anthemic in nature or "As For Me," which is an anthem about faith and God, our champion. Songs like "Here", "In The Morning", "Pinnacle", or "I Will Sing/ Moment" pull on your heart and remind you that God's love will surround you and be an anchor through and strom. As well as the title track "Nothing But Jesus", is just a fun song with a pop vibe that is refreshing while still paying homage to a traditional church song that has been passed down from generation to generation. What's next for you? Currently, DWC is in the process of writing songs for our next album. We are very excited about the next Vol from DWC, sharing some new music as well as some rearranged versions of some of the songs that people are already loving and singing. We are also in the process of dropping video content for each song from Vol 1 and content from our live shows. We are also planning our next Co Night of Worship Night in which we will share new original music written by our team. Instagram

  • JT Hanna Has Us Falling In Love With His New Single, “By My Side”

JT Hanna, a performer, singer, and artist, grew up in a small town in Mississippi and realized his passion for the arts and performing. He wanted to finish high school and move to a big city to pursue his passions and decided to move to Los Angeles and go for gold. There have been many shifts in JT's life, all to accommodate his first release, "By My Side." "By My Side" is the perfect introduction to the authentic artist JT is. His passion and dedication to his craft show in the details of his work, keeping the listener enthralled and intrigued. JT expresses his gratitude towards his love, wishing he never misses the old times; he hopes they stay together forever. When they smile and kiss him, the tears fill his eyes, knowing they're by his side. He doesn't want to regret all the things they didn't do later in life; he wants to take hold of his moments with her and spend an endless night right next to her. Knowing that JT has them by his side gives him such peace of mind and clarity as to what he wants to experience while he still has the opportunity to with them. When they leaves, his heart cries and he can't deny that it makes him feel this way; he sings that he wishes he could stop time to enjoy the moments a bit longer. This heartfelt song by JT Hanna has us vibed and mellowed out for the perfect setting sonically. You can put records like these on loop and just let them play to set the mood or vibe in the atmosphere. "By My Side" is a definite hit. Welcome to BuzzMusic JT Hanna! We love your new record, "By My Side." This is such a romantic and heartfelt concept to sing about; what moments inspired this record's lyrics? It was inspired by all the quiet moments shared with the person it was about. The little things that most people don’t think of when they imagine romance. Nothing fancy or grand, but the moments in between when you really get to know someone. "By My Side" expresses a lot of raw emotion captured through your delivery and it's stunning! What's the message you're delivering in this release? I wrote the song to express all those little things I loved about the person. I’m not always the best at expressing things at the moment either, so that’s why I write. That’s why I make art. My art is the truest and deepest part of myself that I can share with anyone. I also wanted to display how I’ve grown to look at these matters of romance and love. I think the idea of ‘being in love” with someone is a feeling often conflated with infatuation and is far more fleeting and unsustainable than simply loving someone for who they are, for the little things that make them distinctly them. As a singer, how do you stay in shape vocally, and what would you suggest to other singers do that's looking for vocal care advice? My biggest advice to singers is to spend as much time as possible getting to know their voice. Trying different things, different genres. This will help you learn what works best for your voice - what range, what style, etc. Then, don’t push your limits. Be proactive. Warm-up and don’t overdo it. You've been releasing music consistently; how do you ensure you're always in a comfortable and inspiring space to create more records like these? I gave myself the freedom to create whatever I want, whenever I want to. I used to feel a lot of pressure that if I were going to make something, it needed to be super professional or only one style to be consistent. I got to a point where that mentality was leading me to not create or at least release anything. Once I gave myself permission to do whatever I want whenever I want to, knowing that at the end of the day, I did it because I love it, that put me in a place where I was open to whatever creativity struck and had the motivation to follow through with it no matter what. Also, get out and put yourself in situations to experience and learn. Our stories have to come from somewhere. What's next for you? I’m not planning on any major music releases soon. I’m going to start sharing more of my demos and snippets of songs on SoundCloud while I work to find the resources to make the music I’ve been dreaming of making for a while. I’m also working on a lot of films and acting projects at the moment, having just finished my first short that I wrote and directed, as well as developing a feature-length script I wrote, along with a horror film club I just started and I’m putting on an actors showcase at the end of June. So I’m a little busy. Instagram TikTok

Cherish each milestone with help from Roisin O'Hagan's moving and compelling new single, "Road From Nevada," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Roisin O'Hagan. We're honestly impressed with the authentic emotion in your recent single, "Road From Nevada." What inspired this anthem for growing up and reaching your dreams? Thank you so much! ‘Road From Nevada’ was a song that started with a verse full of lyrics referencing some of the things that inspire me; nods to New York, London, Springsteen songs, and Tom Petty make up the first verse. It then became a song which, over the course of 6 months, I added lyrics to every time I felt I had another inspirational moment or thing in my life to add to it. In the face of the scary parts of growing up, learning who you are, and realizing your dreams, I wanted it to be a song that summed up all the things, places, and moments that have made me who I am along the way. I’m 23 and looking at all the things I have experienced from being a teenager to how allowed me to sit back and acknowledge all the inspirational moments that were pivotal in bringing me to being the person I am right now. Did you work alongside any producers or musicians when creating "Road From Nevada?" How did they help execute the vision you had in mind? Yes, the song was produced by Neal Handforth, who also helped me finish writing the song. I had 90% of the song finished, and he helped me finish some of the last remaining lyrics. It was a really rewarding collaborative process, as he was able to sit with me and pull the last bits of lyrical content out of me to complete them. We actually just talked a lot about the things that inspire me and shape my character, values, and dreams. Then, he would suggest lyrical ideas that would push me to the final lyric I was looking for. I also worked with some incredible Nashville musicians on ‘Road From Nevada’, who I’ve since met and spent time recording in Nashville with on upcoming tracks. The track features instrumentation from Tim Galloway, Brian Allen, and Miles McPherson. It was mixed by Billy Decker, who I had the pleasure of meeting on my Nashville trip too, and mastered by Adam Grover. On top of that, I recorded the vocal with vocal engineer Graeme Young at Chamber Studio in Edinburgh. So it’s been a bit of an international project! What was the most challenging part about creating "Road From Nevada?" Did you face any personal or emotional roadblocks? When I wrote the first verse, which, as I mentioned was written first before I came back to finish the song, I wasn’t entirely sure what the song wanted to say. I think I was wishing I was in New York or watching Tom Petty, and I just wanted to list these things I loved. In that way, it was a challenging song to write as I didn’t know it was essentially going to become a list of these things, with the overall takeaway being the lyric “if all my heroes learned to fly, then why can’t I?”. I didn’t know when I started it that it would become something that took time to write properly, but that’s what ended up making it so rewarding. I feel so happy looking at the lyrics that make up this song, as I know every single one was fully intended, thought through, personal and meaningful. Was there a certain message that you wanted listeners to pick up from "Road From Nevada?" What did you want them to think and feel? Again, I think the lyric “all my cynics, they might call me starry-eyed, but if all my heroes learned to fly, why can’t I?”. I, as everyone does, have moments of weakness where I question what I’m doing, wonder if I should just do things to please others, or let other people’s negativity affect me. This lyric just sums up the conclusion I *always* come back to in the end; you can work towards whatever you want in life, and you certainly shouldn’t let the thoughts and doubts of others change who you are and what you want from life. The message I want to project in both my musical and personal life is all down to me, not down to what others think I should do or think. So I would like the song to remind people that they are in control of their mindset and what matters to them in life, too. How does "Road From Nevada" tie into your upcoming EP. How does this song prepare us for the project? I think the whole EP is a really good summary of me, where I’m at as a person, and how I got here. I mean that in the way of growing from a teenager to a young woman and looking at all of the things that determined how that happened. There are some really personal songs on this EP. Collectively, they are personal songs to me at the stage of life I’m at, and all carry my values as a person in them. Through working on, writing, and recording this collection of songs, I have acknowledged in myself a journey from being a teenager to a young woman; this EP projects all the highs and lows of that journey. • Catch The Groove Of Archpalatine's New Hit, "Hypnotized"

Grooving in from Philadelphia, PA, is funk-soul four-piece Archpalatine with an anthem for passionate and chemistry-fuelled encounters entitled "Hypnotized." Archpalatine comprises Derek Anthony Wilson, Anthony Pompey, Ben High, and Aaron Wolf. The four-piece has made waves since its debut record in 2018. Having toured across NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, and DC, the band has also played a ton of renowned festivals like Glenside Arts Festival, Ambler Music Festival, Manayunk Music Festival, and more. In the band's most recent venture, they whip up an anthem for undeniable chemistry in a new single, "Hypnotized." It's no doubt that Archpalatine brings the heat, energy, and groove in this soulful and funky piece. To them, it represents "the wonderfully woozy feeling you get when you are on the dancefloor," and someone gives you a glimpse of their "amazing energy and chemistry," notes Archpalatine. Jumping into the new track, "Hypnotized," we're met with the grooviest instrumentals that take us back to the bumping 70s nightclub scene. There's so much rhythm and energy in this single right off the bat, and lead vocalist Wilson sets the scene with picturesque lyrics of feeling swooned by someone's magnetic ways. All while he keeps the lyrical energy alive, Pompey's soothing background vocals, High's thumping bass licks, and Wolf's high-energy drum break keep us locked into the groove. This song is the perfect summer anthem for a pregame before a night out or lifting the spirits and bringing a little love into the listener's days. Groove the night away with help from Archpalatine's passionate and fiery new single, "Hypnotized," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Archpalatine. We adore the energy and life you bring in your new single, "Hypnotized." What inspired this groovy club banger? Hey BuzzMusic! We are very stoked about this interview. Thank you! We’re happy to hear that and glad you could feel what we do when we perform our song. “Hypnotized” was inspired by a memory and a feeling. That one-of-a-kind feeling of finding the sexiest person and making a connection with them on the dance floor. Not realizing that they are so fine you end up hypnotized and wrapped around their sexy ass finger-like stretchy gum. Your sound is very distinct. Does your band have any musical influences that have impacted your sound and style? It always amazes us to hear different respected perspectives about our sound. Do you know why? Because we are not trying to emulate any specific musician. Each one of us has a unique walk of life in music, and somehow, when it comes together, new magic is created. Some of us have influences in jam bands like Phish. Others love Haim, Maxwell, Beyonce, Harry Styles, Megan the Stallion, Mariah Carey, Grateful Dead, Bowie, Landon Pigg, Brandy, Karen Clark Sheard, and many more! What did you want the listener to feel and experience when hearing "Hypnotized?" Ooo we want everyone to experience funky fun, swanky soul, retro love, and skate arena magic. We want our listeners to dance. We want them to feel a sense of sharing and a time when everything was carefree and joyful. We just want to share with you in general! We love music, making music, creating, and exploring. And we want you to get all the feels and energy in our sharing. We also want to give you back what you feel. In a live show, our energy reflects heavily on the energy you give. So we are gonna pour it on and watch the wave come back and hit us too! Vibes. How does "Hypnotized" fit into your upcoming album? What should we expect from that project? I’m going to metaphorically relate some songs from our album to a delicious random spread of foods. “Hypnotized” is a sweet jar of honey dripping over the rim. “Can’t Compare” is a hot buttered waffle waiting for syrup. “Who am I to Judge” is a tangy zesty marmalade. “Be Alright”, cookies and cream ice cream. And on and on! Is your mouth watering yet? This album is a delectable compilation of songs we are very proud of and can't wait to share with you! And Hypnotized is a sweet dollop of there’s more where that came from! Let’s eat! What's next for you? The band is gearing up for our summer collection of shows. With the upcoming release of our “Hypnotized” music video… coming soon - Directed by Tim Kruger. We’re playing an amazing star-studded festival called Robin and Beth Fest, happening in The Poconos on June 11th. Following that we’re heading right into Manayunk and headlining Dawson St Pub on June 17th with Box of Books and Shadowmaker! Come see us live; we can’t wait to rock with you! Instagram Facebook

  • International Mack Shares ‘The Wisdom,’ In A New Album

From Syracuse to the west coast, songwriter, recording/mixing engineer, and hip-hip artist International Mack smacks the rap scene with his conceptual and heavy-hitting 10-track album, 'The Wisdom.' Born Edwin M. Hernandez, International Mack first learned his way around bass guitar and piano at an early age. After picking up beat-making and DJ skills, he ventured out west to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Audio Production and create his own indie record label, Mack Attack Productions. International Mack is ready to level up and take his career one step further with a new diary-esque 10-track album, 'The Wisdom.' Hopping into the record, we're greeted with the introductory and title track, "The Wisdom." This track brightly opens with transcendent and melodic production while International Mack floods our speakers with the wisdom he's obtained after years in the music scene. Shutting it down left and right, International Mack continues ramping up the energy while his groovy sonics pump in the background for one hell of an album opener. Keeping the confidence and energy alive is track number two, "Hundred Stacks," which opens with a fiery woodwind sample, driving drum breaks, and International Mack's charismatic flow. He takes this track to relish his success and how far he's come; sort of an anthem for evolving and making your first "Hundred Stacks." We love the authority International Mack brings to this track; he's made the listening experience exhilarating thus far. Moving into the third track, "No Pressure," this tune features the heavenly vocal stylings of Alonda Rich, who serenades us with the sweetest vocals right off the bat. As the jazzy production begins melting through our speakers, International Mack jumps into his bars and tackles themes that make it seem like he was born for this cut-throat industry. We love this track's confidence and sweet-sounding vibe; it keeps the album moving with energy and determination. The fourth track, "Loft Conversations," opens with a vocal sample-heavy and Drake-like beat that chills the body in an instant. International Mack's smooth and attention-commanding flow seeps through our speakers while touching on reaching your dreams and doing whatever it takes to level up. This song is incredibly easy to listen to, from the relaxed production to International Mack's empowering bars; he leaves us in a trance. Turning down the vibes is track number five, "Levels 2," alongside the sweet and harmonious vocals of Fedarro, who opens the song with his sugar-coated vocals that sing of reaching a new level. International Mack rolls in with a cool, calm, and collected manner while discussing his vision and those who didn't see it clearly. We adore how International Mack uses this track to pay tribute to those level-up moments and reaching a higher-end lifestyle after some intense gruntwork. Heating the scene is the album's sixth track, "B.A.R.S. Freestyle," which opens with dreamy and transcendent production and rolls into a groovy and soulful hip-hop beat. As International Mack begins freestyling his heart out, he takes the track by storm and discusses the importance of keeping it real, keeping the haters on their toes, and the determination he brings to each creation. International Mack's freestyle is wildly impressive; he brings so much poise and confidence that's truly invigorating. Jumping into track seven, "Hip Hop Saviour," this anthemic and chilling track kicks off with dreamy production and the sweetest vocals samples that roll into the first verse. As International Mack expresses how hip hop saved him, he hopes that others will find peace in his own hip-hop music. We're sure listeners will appreciate such an inspiring ode to the hip-hop genre, especially coming from an artist who knows the scene like the back of his hand. Reaching the album's lush eighth track, "Roses," this tune features the warm vocal stylings of Lakeith Rashad, who serenades us with his tender and soothing vocals to kick the song into gear. As International Mack tackles the first verse, he expresses themes of leveling up and watching how much he's evolved from the days in Syracuse to his present-day on the west coast. This is such a soulful and reflective track; it truly helps us understand International Mack's motives, hopes, and desires that much more. Onto track number nine, "Legacy," we're met with a haunting vocal sample that moves into the song's first verse with the smoothest vibes. As International Mack makes his heated way in, he raps about not being completely understood and being one step ahead of the modern hip-hop game. On the hook, the bright and vibrant vocals of Mike Blanco float through our speakers while singing of how far he's come despite the haters telling him to change. This is another inspiring track that leaves us itching to achieve our desires. Landing on the album's tenth and outro track, "Angels," this sweet single features the heavy-hitting bars of Eddie Jayy and the chilling vocals of Malaya Santos. As International Mack tackles the first verse, he raps necessary themes like spreading more love and erasing hate in our lives. Santos' fluttery and smooth vocals cover a similar theme of missing those we love most. Jayy takes the second verse by storm and expresses his loneliness as a leader and knowing that the man upstairs has a plan in store for him. This was an amazing way to close such a conceptual album, and we couldn't have asked for a more authentic and passionate way to head out. Take a ride into the conceptual, heartfelt, and empowering 10-track album that is International Mack's 'The Wisdom,' now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzzusic, International Mack. We're truly impressed with the themes and concepts within your recent album, 'The Wisdom.' How does this album differ from your 2020 record 'The Knowledge?' In my opinion, The Wisdom shows my evolution as an artist and my growth as a human being. Much like a sequel to a movie, this album picks up from where I left off, except much more self-aware and meaningful this time around. Similar to The Knowledge, the first half of the project starts with a slick braggadocios tone but transitions into more of a heartfelt & self-conscious theme. What inspired the creation of your soulful and heartfelt record, 'The Wisdom?' What led you to create it? The inspiration definitely came from self-reflection over the years. All the moments and situations that have happened in my life have led me to this point, so I decided to take all of those thoughts & conceptualize them into a project. All of my music is based on true events, so even though I’m touching on personal things, I still tried to find a way to make it feel relatable at the same time. What was it like collaborating with the many artists on 'The Wisdom?' Do you feel they helped make the album complete? I don’t think this project would be the same without the collaborations, to be honest. I didn’t have many features on my songs in the past, but I’m glad I was able to work with all these talented artists, musicians, & producers. They definitely helped bridge the gap from Hip Hop to R&B and added even more soul to this record. Which song from 'The Wisdom' is the most personal to you and why? It would probably be biased of me to answer that since I have a few, but the one song everyone seems to gravitate towards the most is “Hip Hop Savior”. I’d say it’s between that and “Angels,” which is dedicated to all my family members that have passed away. What was your goal with 'The Wisdom?' What message did you hope listeners take away from the overall experience? A wise man once said that smart people learn from their own mistakes, but wise people learn from the mistakes of others. They also say that art imitates life, so hopefully, this album sheds light on your path and inspires you to become a better version of yourself in your journey. Instagram Twitter

  • Karl.witaK Wants To Know, 'Won't U Be My Neighbor"?

From journalism to music, hip-hop recording artist and rapper Karl.witaK continues carving his own lane with a new conceptual album entitled "Won't U Be My Neighbor." Karl.witaK took the music scene by storm in 2019. Behind the scenes, he was a consistent chess piece in the world of journalism with his own show, Civics 101, teaching youth about civil history and politics. Now, he's being recognized for his conscience musical mix on worldly ideas and raw honesty. In his most recent work, Karl.witaK released a reflective yet energetic and powerhouse 14-track album, 'Won't U Be My Neighbor.' The record kicks off with the intro and title track, "Won't You Be My Neighbor." A familiar, softspoken voice moves through our speakers, none other than Mr. Rogers in a 90s interview with Charlie Rose. As they discuss knowing who you are and feeling stability in life, Karl.witaK's ethereal production begins floating through while he transitions into groovy and honest bars. Rapping about what he's learned, who he's left in the past, and how the media brainwashes us, Karl.witaK leads us to track number two. "Therapeutic Car (feat. John Carpenter)" rings through our speakers through an interlude-type skit. As Karl.witaK calls up John Carpenter, they move through an honest conversation about moving into an odd, new neighborhood. It gets pretty savage and ends with Carpenter playfully letting Karl know that he might be the issue. Track three, "Karls Neighborhood," opens with another Mr. Rogers interview and moves into a dreamy A$AP Rocky-type verse where Karl.witaK jumps into his bars with dominance. We love the mysterious and heavy beat that accompanies Karl.witaK, especially as he puts a hip-hop spin on Mr. Rogers's theme song. There's a sense of urgency and anger in this track, and Karl.witaK makes clear that pretty neighborhoods aren't always what they seem. A familiar, iconic introduction floats through our speakers on "Painting the House Blue," none other than Kanye West's "Runaway." We adore this sample; right off the bat, it hits the soul with a heavy dose of bass-like synths. While rapping about karma and why fools fall in love, Karl dances through the depths of reflection while a unique rendition of Ye's legendary track roams the background with heaps of emotion. Track number five, "Death of a Goldfish," brings some heavy production that blasts us into the heat of modern hip-hop. Karl.witaK takes this track to delve into some personal issues like losing sleep and thinking about the tragedies that have struck his loved ones. While letting those thoughts free, Karl.witaK offers a profound sense of empowerment that any listener will adore. Keeping the heat and energy alive is track number six, "No Kin (feat. ShoTyme)," which kicks off with a melodic and deep vocal sample alongside poised, mid-tempo drums. Karl.witaK takes the track by the horns and punches through with all-too-real bars that present a heavy serving of reality. ShoTyme hops on the second verse and delivers the same intensity and charisma that's basically repelling the frauds and anyone who tries to bring them down. Reaching the album's halfway point, "Mouths and Feelings," we're met with another Mr. Rogers interview about the importance of what's inside us. As a sample of Fousheé's "Deep End" lingers in the background, Karl.witaK moves into his verse that discusses what he tries not to let happen. Things like losing himself, letting people get to him, and those that he misses. We appreciate such a personal track; it's truly helped us get to know Karl.witaK that much more. Jumping into "Motivation," this track keeps the album alive and thriving with a relatable theme and uplifting sonics. As Karl.witaK leaps into his first verse, he discusses a need for motivation to continue carving his path to success. He asks vital questions like why we can't live in a society where we motivate and uplift each other, emphasizing our need for positivity and love. Moving into the ninth track, "Bible Way," Charlie Rose asks Mr. Rogers what can't we see about him to fully understand him. Mr. Rogers answers that we can't see his spiritual and family life, which leads us into the song's empowering and feel-good production. Karl.witaK blasts us with heavenly bars that touch on his love, praise, and admiration for God and how he leans on the creator when everyone else lets him down. Karl.witaK welcomes us to "Fatherhood" in the introspective tenth track. The blissful and emotional saxophone sample sonically serenades us while the crispy drums lead us into the first verse. Karl.witaK takes this track to inform listeners about the importance of knowing what you do and say in front of the kids, as they'll process it and think it over more than you think. Turning up the heat once again in track number eleven, "El Capital," the hazy production melts through our speakers with samples of breezy Spanish guitars. As Karl.witaK makes his way in, he washes us with the smoothest flow that speaks about the peaks and valleys of living in DC. Letting us know that uptown's where it's at, northeast is a zoo, southeast will kill you, southwest is just like you, and northwest is where the 'whites' move. Reaching the album's last few songs, we move into track twelve, "Own Your Shit," which kicks off with a lively and groovy hip-hop beat and dark, heavy synths. We love the subtle and modern autotune Karl.witaK uses in this track; it perfectly ups the contemporary vibe while he tackles necessary themes like coming clean, taking accountability, and owning your shit with pride. On the thirteenth track, "Karl Dream," Karl.witaK playfully opens up about the dreams he's having, like getting busy with iconic female rappers from Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat to Lizzo and Tiera Whack. This song is incredibly anthemic; everything from the bouncy drums to Karl.witaK's energetic and playful flow keeps our heads bopping and our bodies grooving. Landing on the album's final track, "1-4-3," Mr. Rogers gives his sympathy to those who aren't loved and don't have someone to lean on. As the blissful and smooth guitar picks through our speakers alongside light and airy drums, Karl.witaK graces us with passionate and poetic bars that touch on loving someone the way they are. This was the perfect way to end such a dynamic album, letting listeners know that it's what's inside that truly matters. Are you new in town? Get to know who your neighbor really is with Karl.witaK's latest album, 'Won't U Be My Neighbor,' now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Karl.witaK. We really appreciate such an authentic and personal album like 'Won't U Be My Neighbor.' When did you begin feeling inspired to create this album? Thank you, and I'm humbled for the love and appreciation. The inspiration came from just being an admirer of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood as a kid. His penchant for understanding acceptance is what you'd need to grow in this world. He was ahead of his time and originally being from Philadelphia myself, the inspiration had always been there. What was the core concept or theme you wanted to get across in 'Won't U Be My Neighbor?' What impact did you want the project to have? Well, the concept came from my grandmother, who is on the cover of the album, and the general theme is about acceptance of your neighbors, whether they're a good or bad, yellow, green or brown, religious or atheist. My grandmother introduced me to the world of Mr. Rogers. Growing up I watched people disrespect my grandmother but no matter what; she still gave them a hug, and still showed love with no ill will towards her neighbor. So with that being said; In the bible, the book of Matthew says the second greatest commandment is "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself". So would you? The general impact should be a test of morality, ego, lust, betrayal, self-motivation, adultery, etc…all these everyday issues we deal with as people and how heavy they weigh on the choices that drive the decisions we make in regards to all those mental and emotional problems I mentioned. Did Mr. Rogers play a significant role in your life? Why did you sample him so frequently in your album, 'Won't U Be My Neighbor?' Mr. Rogers definitely is a significant part of my life. His ideals, the imprint he made during segregation, and some of the most important historical dates known to man. He was there for it and had a lesson to give and I watched it all lol. Even episodes before, I was thought of and it's cool to see he always remained the same. So people could appreciate who he was as a man, father, husband, role model, and really ahead of his time. But most of all who I am as a person and artist. I figured why not have the man who created me in a metaphorical sense, explain why I am the way I am. I wanted listeners to understand why. Did you run into any personal or physical obstacles when creating the 'Won't U Be My Neighbor' album? What was the most challenging aspect of creating the record? Physically no, but personally I did because I wanted to make sure I presented him as a human being too. Someone who, like us, suffered through the same physical and emotional tolls we deal with in everyday life. I think just getting everything cleared sample-wise and the fact I finished probably 80% of the album in a two-month span so it could be released on his birthday. So that was fun lol. Why did you decide to take this album almost entirely solo? Although there are a couple of features on 'Won't U Be My Neighbor,' why did you want to keep this as more of a solo project? That's an easy answer; I don't have any friends, which is why it's entirely solo lol. No, but seriously it was an album about me, for me, for my listeners. Who I am as a man. How do I manage to function in this world every day? My brother, Shotyme, whom you know at Buzz, produced this album and is my blood, so it only made sense he spoke on my behalf. Instagram

  • Album Alert: Matt Moody Is, 'Still a Kid in a Painted Sky'

From Cleveland to Los Angeles, versatile recording artist and singer-songwriter Matt Moody shares bittersweet and vulnerable moments in his debut album, 'Still a Kid in a Painted Sky.' Matt Moody's songs range somewhere in between rush belt grit and western tropes. His honest and ear-pleasing tunes have landed him on notable stages like Hotel Cafe, The Beachland Ballroom, and Douglas Corner Cafe. Now, he brings themes of hope, desperation, love, loss, betrayal, and ego death to life in his debut 14-track album, 'Still a Kid in a Painted Sky.' The experience begins with the introductory track, "Shifting Candlelight." The song opens with eerie and spacious synths that drop into an upbeat and somewhat melancholy alternative instrumental. As Matt Moody expresses how, at times, he thinks of swerving into the other lane, he serenades us on this chilling hook with themes of wonder, heartbreak, and raw emotion. This dynamic piece was a stellar way to open the album. Moving into track number two, "Puttin' It Off," we're met with dreamy and sci-fi synths that drop into a warm and feel-good electro-pop beat. Listening to Matt Moody's tender and passionate vocals, he brings a much lighter theme with lyrics about love, manifesting one's reality, but always finding a way to put it off. This bright and bold song smacks us with another relatable theme of feeling like kingdom come is so far off when you feel you aren't deserving. Track number three, "I Don't Mind," opens with bright horns, lively drums, warm guitars, and an overall uplifting vibe. As Matt Moody jumps into his verse, he serenades us with passionate lyrics about feeling happy with someone special and making memories with the ones he loves. Even if they're questionable, we'll all be burned to dust in the end, right? This feel-good song arrived just in time for summer. Slowing things down a bit, the album's fourth track, "Cutting You Loose," mysteriously opens with washy background synths and soft acoustic guitars alongside Matt Moody's angsty vocals. While expressing his woes and the chances he gave to someone dear, he makes some relatable realizations and breaks the bad news. This is another punchy and dynamic track that slowly increases in energy for one hell of an alternative-rock outro. Jumping into the fifth track, "Graveyard," we're hit with the brightest alternative instrumental through zappy and echoed synths alongside twinkling keys, lively drums, and Matt Moody's smooth vocals. This uplifting tune is pretty clever, considering Moody's lyrics are quite "moody." He sings of wishing he'd known from the start that a relationship would end up in someone's "Graveyard" full of hearts. Bringing in the groove is track number six, "John Wayne," which smoothly opens with some jazzy undertones through a beautiful brass instrumental, downtempo drums, and warm piano melodies. Listening to Matt Moody's velvety vocals, he passionately sings of feeling better with someone special by his side. This might be our favorite song on the album simply because of the gentle, serene vibe and Matt Moody's intoxicating themes of endless love. Settling in our native "California," the seventh track opens with upbeat drums and another lively brass section. Matt Moody floats his way into the first verse with lyrics that describe picturesque California and share his musical stylings to show the world what he's got. This track is a true toe-tapper; it has all the groove, energy, and grit we admire about raw alternative rock with a dash of country and folk. Reaching the album's second half with track number eight, "Driftin' (feat. Ray Flanagan)," this lonely-wanderer-type tune opens with an ethereal introduction that chills the spine instantly. There's so much soul in this track, especially as Matt Moody's instrumentals blossom open on the hook that leaves us swaying to the dreamy sounds. As he sings of wishing things would get better and wondering why they haven't, he blesses us with pure emotion that moves mountains. The album's ninth track, "Fire Away," takes us into a darker vibe through ominous rock instrumentals that slowly expand into this heavy and cathartic atmosphere. Matt Moody's raspy and powerful vocals expand on honest themes of the darkness and desire he feels when reaching for something larger than himself. Questioning how things ended up the way they did, Moody melts through our speakers in another deeply emotional and gripping tune. Spicing it up with track ten, "Party in the Valley," we can already tell we'll be blasting this song all summer after a quick listen. Diving deeper, Matt Moody's warm and upbeat alternative rock/pop instrumentals take us into those memorable summer nights. He later transitions into personal lyrics about feeling overwhelmed and drowning in the light. This song has such thrilling energy, perfect for beachside sunsets and other unforgettable moments. Peeling back even more emotion is the eleventh track, "Shadows," which opens with soft guitars, mid-tempo drums, and Matt Moody's gentle vocals. He brings up themes of wishing to be living the life he dreams of and wanting to let the "Shadows" fall behind. The instrumentals bring us into a sweet sonic escape near the bridge that lifts the soul. Moody ups the emotion and relatability with lyrics about not wanting to die until he can experience all that life has to offer. "Crashing in the Ocean" with track number twelve, this piece softly opens with lush acoustic guitars and piano melodies alongside soothing down-tempo percussion. Matt Moody's harmonious vocals instantly chill us with his honest lyrics and emotional tones. This song also brings up the theme of death and hoping that everyone knows where his intentions were while on this plane. We appreciate such a heart-tugging cinematic experience that brings heaps of vulnerability. Onto the thirteenth track, "Chrysanthemum Cowgirl," this song opens on a sweet and slightly country note with twangy electric guitars, soft piano melodies, and gentle drums. Matt Moody describes the unmatched beauty of the chrysanthemum cowgirl and giving her the world on the fertile land they reside on. This dreamy and ethereal piece offers the perfect blend of alternative, folk, and country, sonically serenading us onto cloud nine. Landing on the album's fourteenth and final track, "Miller Lite (feat. Hannah Stak)," this energetic tune pounces open with quick acoustic guitar strums and upbeat drums. As Matt Moddy hops into the verse, Hannah Stak's bright vocals accompany him while bringing the song an interesting dynamic feel. Both vocalists chant Moody's mantra, "do what feels right,' towards the outro to remind us that going with your gut and trusting your instincts will do wonders. Experience the pure, vulnerable, and raw emotion of Matt Moody's relatable debut album, 'Still a Kid in a Painted Sky,' now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Matt Moody. We truly appreciate the vulnerable and relatable feel of your debut album, 'Still a Kid in a Painted Sky.' When did you start creating songs for the album? How long was it in the making? I started writing for Still a Kid in the fall of 2019. I got the master's back in May of 2021, and the creation process for the visuals has been ongoing since the concept was a conscious thought. In total, it's been about a two and a half year journey. What inspired the cathartic and honest album, 'Still a Kid in a Painted Sky?' What experiences led you to create it? I wanted to make an album for the open road; I wanted it to feel like a transformation. This constant searching and never finding, with all the bumps and beauty along the way. A lot of the songs were inspired by traveling through the American West and that novel yet nostalgic feeling you get with tears in your eyes, driving past mountain ranges. We hit about seven different states throughout the writing and recording process. I wrote "Shifting Candlelight" while staying in Monument Valley. What was the most rewarding part about creating the album, 'Still a Kid in a Painted Sky?' The journey. Being on the road with Nina as often as possible throughout the creation process. We were living everything I was writing about. Do you have a favorite song from the album, 'Still a Kid in a Painted Sky'? What makes that song stand out to you? "Puttin' It Off" holds a special place in my heart and always will. It kind of sums up everything I was feeling at the time and put it on an open road. When I wrote this, I knew I had a concept, and that's when it all started forming into a solid body of work. Did you want to leave listeners with any thoughts or realizations after hearing 'Still a Kid in a Painted Sky'? What do you hope they experience? It's yours now. mattismoody.com

She adds such raw emotion and feeling that you can feel the relatable lyrics in your soul. "Us Again" shows us a very vulnerable KellyMarie, as she opens up about not wanting to return to the way things were because there's no future. "Got the guy, Got the city," she glides across the magical New York, craving to experience the fullness of life with him. Holding hands and feeling like themselves again is all she's ever wanted. It feels right. Her dreams of a romantic love story have come true. "Us Again" is an entertaining piece of art by the talented singer, and we hope to hear more from her soon. Welcome to BuzzMusic, KellyMarie. We love "Us Again" and your effortless presence on it! How did you know this was a record you wanted to make? How did this record come about? Writing an “Office” themed album definitely sits up there with the coolest things I’ve ever done. “Us Again” is the 3rd single from my upcoming album “IT IS MY ALBUM.” I wrote this album during lockdown while I was watching “The Office” for about the 14th time. Inspiration hit the second Pam said, “We just couldn’t get the timing right.” I paused the show and decided at that moment that I was going to write an album about “The Office.” And the first song I wrote was “Timing Right,” - which was my first single. Sometime later, I had to decide what type of album this would be - and I settled on an album of love songs. I have some other songs that didn’t make the album, but maybe they’ll find their way out into the world someday… The production suits the concept so well; how did you select or create the production for "Us Again?" Could you explain a bit about your production process on records like these? I have had the best team working with me on this project since the beginning. Chris Jacobie and Jacob Hildebrand produced the album. We met last summer to first go over each song’s structure and vibe, as well as the vision for the entire album. They are also amazing musicians and do a great job at getting to the core of what my vision is for each song and bringing them to life in an even more beautiful and unique way. “Us Again” is about Karen and Jim’s trip to New York. Therefore we really wanted to capture the New York vibe in this song. Every song’s approach is different, but for this track, we started with the drums and built from there. Throughout this process, I have had the privilege of working with the best team of producers, musicians, mixed engineers, photographers, graphic designers, and support systems. I am so grateful for each and every one of them. "Us Again" gives us such a euphoric sense of love! How has your romantic life brought out the best in your music? My husband is my sounding board and my biggest fan. I would not have made it to the studio if it weren’t for his support and belief in me. Many of my songs would not have made it past the scratchy voice memo phase of songwriting if it weren’t for his excitement and encouragement to press on. It has been a dream getting to write an album about my favorite show while having the support of my favorite person. What's the message you're delivering in "Us Again?" “Us Again” is complicatedly wonderful. A listener who doesn’t know this song's nature and inspiration will assume that it’s a feel-good song about adventure and love - which was my intent. However, fans of TV’s “The Office” will remember that this trip was for a job interview; and that prior to this trip - Pam confessed that she did call off her wedding for Jim. This conviction of sudden honesty created a mess of awkwardness and surely uncertainty for Karen as she carried on in her relationship with Jim in New York. She had hopes for their future there. Hope to start over. Hope to move on. Together. But SPOILER ALERT, that’s not how the trip goes, and Karen soon finds out where Jim’s heart is at. I guess the takeaway from this song would be: don’t waste time looking at your feet, expecting the shoe to drop. Instead, look up. Take in the lights. What's next for you? My debut album, “IT IS MY ALBUM," will be released on August 12. In the meantime, I’ll continue playing shows and getting ready for the release. I have a show on June 11th in beautiful downtown Plano, Texas, at McCall Plaza so if you are in the area - come on out!! In the meantime, be sure to check out my other singles - “Timing Right” and “ONCE+” (out everywhere now)!!! Thanks for letting me share all the details on “Us Again,” and I hope you enjoy the song!
