Welcome to BuzzMusic, Neika Simone, and congratulations on the release of "My Door." With such a passion-fuelled song, was there a particular moment or story that inspired its creation? Thank you! I won't say that there was one particular incident that occurred. Instead, it was a build-up of relationships that ended badly over time. I'm a very patient person, but I've had enough when I've had enough! Have you always been as vulnerable in the music you create? I don't know any other way to be. My mother told me for years that I wear my heart on my sleeve. I never knew that could be a blessing and useful in songwriting, but I'm glad that it's worked out that way. How important is it for you to hold onto this trait when songwriting? It's extremely important. I love listening to music that gives me the feels, whether it's joy, nostalgia, pain, or love. I want whatever it is that I write to be felt and vibed to. What would you like "My Door" to say about you as an artist and individual? I feel that "My Door" says that I write songs that are relatable but have a musical kick! "My Door" also says that I might write a song about you if you cross me...lol. What was the most memorable experience you had when creating this track? I remembered listening to the music and simply enjoying it. The hook came, and the verses followed shortly thereafter. What's next for you? I am working on some performances for late spring and this summer. Check my website and social media pages for dates and locations. I'm also heading back into the studio to work on more music to release later this year. The sky is the limit, and I want to go farther than the eye can see! Instagram Facebook
- Cassidy Mackenzie Blesses Fans With A Vibrant Debut Single, "Leave Me Alone"
Making her highly-anticipated debut by way of Vancouver and Los Angeles is a singer-songwriter, renowned cover artist, and musician Cassidy Mackenzie with her debut single, "Leave Me Alone." After dropping out of music school in Nashville, Mackenzie headed back home to Van and started posting covers on TikTok. Now, with over half a million followers and praise from bands like Simple Plan and Mayday Parade, Cassidy Mackenzie is finally releasing her long-awaited solo music. "Leave Me Alone" is produced by Glashaus (Selena Gomez, Wiz Khalifa, Rachel Platten, etc.), who pitched that it would be fitting if the tune combined all of Mackenzie's eclectic musical influences in one song. The result was a stellar merge of hip-hop rhythms, Cassidy Mackenzie's signature guitar loops, and anthemic pop vocals that sing of wishing to move on from a breakup. Hitting play on the new single, "Leave Me Alone," we're greeted with a groovy rhythm guitar loop, tight hip-hop drums, and Cassidy Mackenzie's sultry vocals that roam the memories of someone's love. The young recording artist gets straight to the point in this pop-punk-esque tune and chants her powerful vocals on the hook, wondering when this past person will finally leave her alone. This song is a powerful and exciting treat for the ears that perfectly showcases what her loyal followers have been waiting for since posting her first few viral covers. We appreciate how the song ties into current punk trends while still delivering an authentic rock/hip-hop edge to perfectly balance the experience. Find exactly what you were waiting for and more in Cassidy Mackenzie's highly-anticipated debut single, "Leave Me Alone," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Cassidy Mackenzie. A big congratulations on releasing your long-awaited debut single, "Leave Me Alone." Why did you want this song to lead the way in your solo career? What does it mean to you? Thank you so much! I'm stoked about the release! After recording "Leave Me Alone," I immediately knew I wanted to lead with it because it was painfully honest. Writing the lyrics and the music video felt like jumping off a high diving board because of how true they are to the story the song is based on. Giving listeners and viewers raw stories that they can relate to is super important to me, and I want to set that tone for future releases. Considering you've made a name for yourself solely through cover videos, did you feel that "Leave Me Alone" had a lot to live up to? When did you feel the track was complete and ready for release? I'll never think the track is ready for release. I swear I could work on a song for 17 years and still think there's something to fix, haha. The cover videos actually helped a ton in terms of crafting the instrumental of "Leave Me Alone." I learned a lot about what I like to record through the covers, like crunchy guitars and big choruses. I think this song reflects the sound and style of the cover videos. What was it like working with experienced producer Glashaus for "Leave Me Alone?" How was he able to capture your broad musical influences in one song? Dan and Tom Glashaus were awesome to work with. It felt surreal flying to LA and working with really experienced musicians, and I learned a ton from them. They were pumped about my influences, and we had a lot of fun recording the song. Their studio was insanely cool, too, so I was geeking out the whole time over their equipment. On a more personal note, what do you want to be known for as an artist? What do you want your music and artistry to represent and stand for? I want to be known for authenticity. I want to make people feel accepted, represented, and not so alone, and I think the way to do that is by telling honest stories. It's important for me to be the artist that you can rely on to share a true piece of yourself with you. Music meant the world to me growing up (it still does), and if I could help even two people the way that the musicians I listened to helped me, I'd be beyond happy. What's next for you? I'm going to keep writing/recording songs and release a bunch of originals this year! I think that "Leave Me Alone" is the starting point for an exciting new chapter. Instagram TikTok
- Kathryn Cloward is a True “Warrior Woman”
Kathryn Cloward is an award-winning singer/songwriter who has released four full-length albums including her most recent “Ripple Love” 11-song album with her uplifting empowerment song, “Warrior Woman." Her music provides a fresh perspective of lyrical storytelling and aims to be relatable for audiences from all walks of life. Along with being a brilliant lyricist, Kathryn blends her soulful melodies and engaging musical arrangements to introduce herself as a passionate woman and the journey of transformation she’s been on. Her songs create a sense of comfort for those going through similar experiences ultimately letting the listener know they are not alone. “Warrior Woman” pours through with an intimate, breathy vocal, a detailed story-line with imagery and scene-setting, and a simple guitar part; all of which is laid bare in a near acoustic manner, reminding listeners that this is an artist and musician more than ready to grace small and big stages alike. There’s no doubt that “Warrior Woman is a powerful work of art. There’s a charming simplicity to the beautifully intriguing lyrics and a simple and rather addictive melody line. On the other hand, there’s plenty more at work, and the more closely you pay attention, the sooner the conversation gets underway. Absolutely worth discovering and I look forward to hearing more from Kathryn Cloward. Listen to “Warrior Woman,” here, and check out our interview with Kathryn Cloward below. Hey Kathryn Cloward! Great to be showcasing some of your new music on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about your personal upbringing within the music world? Someone said to me that I’m a late bloomer in the music industry. I replied to him, “I’m not late. I am blooming in my right time.” I released my first two albums three weeks after turning 41. Many women don’t like sharing their age but I am totally fine with it. Those years brought forth wisdom and strength I didn’t have when I was younger. In the past four years, I’ve released five albums, four Kathryn Cloward albums, and one for my children’s brand, Kathryn the Grape. Do you believe that the way you intend to communicate your messages through your music is easily received by your listeners? I certainly hope my message comes through clearly. While I know I'm not everyone’s cup of tea, I am aware that those who need someone else to put a voice to lyrical stories about life’s struggles and triumphs appreciate my authenticity. That’s fulfilling for me to know. “Warrior Woman" was an incredibly versatile and catchy track. Where did you draw the inspiration to create this particular type of sound? I have always been very interested in Native American culture and Shaman wisdom. I worked with Producer Jeff Berkley on this track. He knew I wanted a tribal shamanic sound to come through and he did the electric guitar playing on the song to get those amazing effects you hear. I am really happy with the feel of the song and the vibe it shares with others. It’s different from most of my other songs and I like that. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “Warrior Woman”? I was inspired by the lyrics of "Warrior Woman” as I was emerging as a more whole me. I found myself less self-conscious and less concerned about pleasing other people. This song is an expression of that. It’s very much an anthem for me and for other women who have heard it. It was awesome to be able to present “Warrior Woman” here on BuzzMusic! What do you think is next for you as an artist? Where do you hope to progress within the next couple of years? I just finished writing an album of songs with another artist for their solo artist debut. We will be in the studio recording that in January. Then, I plan on knuckling down with getting my next Kathryn Cloward album done with its release in 2020. I love creating, writing, and sharing. I desire to keep doing what I do, and I hope to help more and more people through my music. instagram.com/kathryncloward twitter.com/kathryncloward
- The Lillypillies Break Ground In A Conceptual Debut Album, 'Run To The Future'
Sharing their infectious tunes from Sydney, Australia, is the alternative electro-pop/rock group The Lillypillies with their debut full-length album, 'Run To The Future.' The Sydney-based boys are always exploring new ways to find balance within their refreshing creations, showing us the struggles of the present day, the nostalgia of the past, and the hope we must keep for a brighter future. Showcasing this perfectly is The Lillypillies' debut 12-track album, 'Run To The Future.' The experience opens with the intro track, "No One Like You," where a heavy acoustic-electric guitar riff sets the scene with a dark and ominous tone. As Manny's familiar vocals kick in, he takes the track by storm and leads us into an infectious hook alongside a blistering rhythm guitar. The beat drop delivers the essence of power-pop/rock through subtle synth use and this overall anthemic feel, amplified by the song's bittersweet theme of relying on someone else to make things better. This was a kickass way to start the record, giving us a solid groove and gripping concept right off the bat. Traveling into the dreamy revered electric guitar in track number two, "Maybe Someday," The Lillypillies bring us deeper into their alternative/pop influence with some added electronic depth. We're then met with a thumping bassline and Manny's airy vocals that sing of keeping away from the darkness. As The Lillypillies take us to the hook, they come through with the vibrance of electro-pop through crisply autotuned vocals, ghostly vocal samples, quick synths, and exciting drum breaks. Interestingly, how bright and bold this song feels, but The Lillypillies' lyrics offer a deeply gloomy and painful theme. Moving onto track number three, "When We Were Young," we're greeted with a grungy electric guitar melody and a heavy bass lick alongside neat percussion and Manny's layered vocals. Listening to his warm vocals, he sheds light on how as children, we often want to 'Run To The Future,' only to get here and want to turn back time. This song is incredibly dynamic; it begins with a saddened and emotional feel but quickly transitions into this exhilarating heavy-rock space through crunchy guitar riffs and the brightest synths, leading us to the outro without a dull moment. Onto the fourth track, "We'll Be Together," we had the opportunity to feature this track as a single, and we appreciate how it offers a sense of balance to the rock-centered listening experience thus far. The Lillypillies take this song to highlight the importance of having faith that it's darkest before dawn. The relaxed, mid-tempo drums and colorful melodic synths perfectly showcase The Lillypillies' affinity with electro-pop, but with some added electric guitar for an extra burst of sonic pleasure. We admire how the band didn't necessarily write about a specific situation, letting the listener interpret the meaning of Manny's lyrics as they please. Upping the groove and energy is the album's fifth track, "Don't Let Me Down," peeling open with a spirited electric guitar riff and Manny's raspy vocals that sing of feeling at home in someone's presence and wishing they'd come around more often. As The Lillypillies continue peeling back the layers of this tune, they hit us with the funkiest guitar riffs and tightly-wound drum breaks that bring us to the shimmering hook. We can't get enough of this song's radiance; it's another dynamic and invigorating track that truly showcases the depth of The Lillypillies' creative abilities. Reach song number six, "Remedy (Album Version)," The Lillypillies open the tune on this Reggae-like note through offbeat electric guitar strums and a toe-tapping drum arrangement. Manny channels his optimistic side in this track and reminds us that there's plenty of time to get it right. Before we know it, a blistering rhythm guitar begins firing through our speakers to ramp up the energy and heat. The song's verses, pre-hooks, bridge, and hooks could be their own individual song (and genre), but The Lillypillies manage to make it incredibly cohesive and seamlessly flow until the very last beat. Tip-tapping away is the intro drums in track number seven, "Don't Tell Me (Album Version)," which kicks off the album's second half with glimmering synths that float in the background alongside Manny's deep and velvety vocals. He then starts singing of feeling locked inside his four walls while letting someone know that he doesn't need their advice now that they're long gone. The highlight of the track has to be the complex and layered drums that continue to change the energy and vibe of this versatile tune, carrying us to the outro with sensations of relief, endurance, yet lingering confusion and strife. Reaching the album's dreamy and electro-heavy eighth track, "Wake Me Up (In A Few Years Time)," this song kicks off with sci-fi-like synths that scream 80s synthpop. The Lillypillies quickly do what they do best and switch things up to serve a groovy yet introspective atmosphere through added electric guitar and mid-tempo, organic drums. As Manny sings of wanting to pause the chaos in his life, he reaches the anthemic and deftly-catchy hook that sees him promising to go wherever someone special leads him. This song offers equal amounts of 80s synthpop as it does 80s progressive rock, truly taking us back in time. Moving on track number nine, "I'm Hypnotized," a bright and plucky electric guitar melody opens this song alongside warm mid-tempo drums, modern electro-pop synths, a dense bassline, and Manny's passionate vocals. While singing of feeling hypnotized by someone's presence, The Lillypillies back him up with this gleaming instrumental arrangement that quite literally sounds like the sensation of falling into a love-induced trance. There's so much to listen to in this track, and each element merges together seamlessly to create one hell of a listening experience. Taking things down a notch is the tenth track, "Broken Angel," which kicks off with an emotional and soft introduction through Manny's breathy vocals, mid-tempo drums, and melodic electric guitars. As we reach the energy-filed pre-hook, The Lillypillies blast through our speakers with instrumentals that ooze anticipation and lead us into the deeply reflective hook. Manny sings a quite painful scenario in this piece, feeling out of control and not getting anywhere in life. As grim as it sounds, The Lillypillies pump up the energy through their groovy bass-heavy transitions with added vocal chops and synths to spice things up. Landing on the eleventh track, "Maybe Someday (Piano Version)," we hear a more organic and cinematic rendition of the album's second song, giving us a more raw and unfiltered approach. This time around, The Lillypillies scrap the electric guitar and head to the piano while maintaining the same string-like synths and bright drum arrangements. This song's piano version offers a deeply emotional aspect that allows the listener to focus on Manny's relatable lyrics, singing of how nobody wants to be lonely, hoping there will soon be a day where we don't have to say goodbye. Reaching the album's twelfth and outro track, "We'll Be Together (Acoustic Version)," The Lillypillies take us back to the beaming fourth track but with emphasis on the warm and tender acoustic guitar. Still keeping the same bright electric guitar melodies and harmonious vocal layering, The Lillypillies takes us over to the hook one last time, where those familiar colorful keys lift our spirits and send us off into a dreamy and inspirational listening experience. We admire how The Lillypillies closed this album with perhaps our favorite track, ending the experience on a more cinematic and ethereal note. Do yourself a favor and take a thorough listen to The Lillypillies' intensely dynamic, cathartic, and relatable debut 12-track album, 'Run To The Future,' now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, The Lillypillies. We're truly impressed with the dynamic arrangements and relatable themes within your debut album, 'Run To The Future.' When did you begin feeling inspired to create this project? Towards the end of last year, we felt that we had a bunch of songs that were really strong. We felt that each song was strong enough to stand out on its own without any being just a filler track, so we began to get excited about the prospect of putting together a full album. Would you say the album 'Run To The Future' represents a moment in time or any significant experience your band has gone through? As the songs were being written, we realized that they seemed to have the common thread of "time ."Most of the songs are about the struggles of the present day, the nostalgia of the past, and how hopefully, in the future, things will get better. The world is going through a very difficult period, and Run To The Future represents, to a certain degree, escapism to better times ahead of us. Songs such as "Wake Me Up in a few years' time" are very representative of this concept. Does your band have a mutual favorite song off of 'Run To The Future?' Which song did you enjoy creating and recording the most? We seem to be gaining the most attention so far with our song "Maybe Someday," which has had the most hits on youtube and plays on Spotify. It's also a song that showcases our strength vocally as well as on guitars. Why did you feel that "Maybe Someday" and "We'll Be Together" needed their own piano/acoustic versions on 'Run To The Future?' What made you want to add these renditions to the album? Both songs have strong melodies, and we wanted to give them the chance to shine even without all the production of the original versions. A good song can stand out whether it has layers of production or whether it's stripped down to its bare essentials. The album is very upbeat, and we felt it would be nice to end it with something a bit more laid back as well as give our listeners a couple of bonus tracks. What did you hope to make your audience experience and feel when listening to the entirety of 'Run To The Future?' We feel we have created a dynamic album with meaningful lyrics and strong melodies that stick in your head. It's an album we are very proud of, with influences from the past but with a contemporary sound and upbeat feel. We hope that listeners will enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Selena Victoria. We are so happy to have you here celebrating your latest release, "Fortune Teller." Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind "Fortune Teller?" Fortune Teller is about a toxic love dynamic. One that consumes you in every way possible, yet you seem to always come back for more. It's a toxic relationship in which you want to see the good in someone, and you hope for a happy ending, but that's not always the case. But for me specifically, this song defines that believing in the good in others - even if they've wronged you - is still a beautiful thing. It's a gift—an admirable trait. Your love and passion for music and performing are extremely apparent in your music. Do you remember where your love for music all began and who some of your inspirations were growing up? Music has always been my passion since I was a young girl. I've been singing my entire life. Its always been the comfort I needed and the creative outlet I had to truly be my most authentic self. I've known the importance of this gift since I was a kid. Many of my inspirations range from Selena Quintanilla - whom I was named after to Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, and Taylor Swift, amongst many, many others. Saying music is my passion is an understatement. It saved me from multiple different circumstances in my life and has always given me the purpose to continue. What sort of atmosphere and vibe did you want the instrumentals and production to give off in "Fortune Teller?" Who helped bring the sonics to life? The intention behind creating Fortune Teller was definitely to be a beautiful melody that helps to lift the story and the meaning behind the song. For this track, I had the absolute pleasure of working with two amazing individuals: Andre Kaden Black and Jonathan Karkar - who helped produce the track. As well as Brian Melo and Paul Stephens, who actually helped cowrite and create this beautiful song. They are all such talented artists, and it was such a pleasure to collaborate with each of them. Did you have a specific idea in mind for you who hoped this song would resonate the most? What do you hope listeners will take away from this song while hearing it for the first time? I've always said I want to be a voice for others. That remains true. Every person has experienced heartbreak or toxic love in one way or another. I wanted this song to provide that sense of comfort for those who struggle with the heartbreak of ANY kind. My main focus for the song was a toxic love dynamic based on my situation; however, it can definitely be applied to various other situations. What's next for you? What's next is more music, the release of a few radio interviews, and discussion topics such as mental health, specifically OCD. I've just recently opened up about my personal struggles with OCD, as it is a genetic component in my family's bloodline. In more ways than one, I have always wanted to be a voice for others. Being honest and open about my struggles is a way in which I hope I can help someone else out there who may be dealing with the same issues. My new single, "Golden Kiss," releases next month, and I'm super excited for everyone to hear it! It's an amazing track that I'm 100% positive people will love to hear. It's fun, upbeat, light-hearted, and a beautiful summer track to add to your playlist. I'm very proud of this one. Instagram

- ASHERAH Has Her Audience Swimming In The Sound Of Her Debut E.P., "Ephemeral"
ASHERAH is the electronic pop alias of Miami-based singer, songwriter, producer, and composer, Ariel Morer. Her work with local Miami electronic acts paved the way for her invitation to perform with them at festivals like III Points alongside preeminent artists such as M83, Flying Lotus, the late SOPHIE, Denzel Curry, and Oneohtrix Point Never. In addition, it led to her opening for acts like The Radio Dept. Now here with her debut E.P, we get the opportunity to take in the hype that surrounds this up-and-coming starlet for ourselves. Produced in collaboration with left-field electronic music composer, Medulasa, ASHERAH's latest collection of songs on "Ephemeral" is a coalescence of unexpected creative forces telling a highly personal tale of the grief process through a collaborative effort detailing the grief process of losing a close friend. Delving into the introductory track heard on "Ephemeral," the tantalizing essence of "River" graces our speakers. With airy synths that form an atmosphere of elusive notions, the intensity of this record begins to progress through the production elements introduced. As the tempo rises, so does our anticipation. ASHERAH emits an angelic vocalization that's smothered in reverb ricocheting in our minds as we absorb each mystical word crooned. It's safe to say that "River" opens our sonic appetite for the rest of "Ephemeral," unraveling the intricate soundscape one note at a time. Reaching the second song title "Holy," we find ourselves in an atmosphere that radiates in effervescent hues. There's a buoyant synergy running through your speakers as the intoxicating bliss that is ASHERAH's profound storytelling is reiterated in a truly captivating way. Her inimitable timbres charge our energy through the harmonies before our eyes. There's something so magical to how ASHERAH becomes one with the instrumentation. Upon every impactful percussion pattern, you feel her words punch as they unite with pure passion, and as the song comes to its final note, you immediately begin to miss the warmth ASHERAH conveys. "Chasm" comes in at third on the tracklist and slows the tempo down to pull us into a more profound depth heard in the message ASHERAH transmits. As our minds fill with the beauty of her wide vocal range, we get transported to the atmospheric realm of curiosity blended with emotional tenors. We love how ASHERAH's emphasis in this song is that of a more melancholy feel. Grasping onto the minimal yet impactful lyrics she professes, along with the vocal layers of a true goddess, we hear just how robust the musical foundation that Medulasa brings to life is. As we reach the final track, "More Than Miles," our hearts open even more to take in the emotion-evoking lyrical motifs heard in this particular song. ASHERAH takes a more intimate approach to her vocals as they tiptoe into this piece and flutter around in a charismatic fashion. Within each word carefully crafted, a vulnerable artist is telling her story in a meaningful manner. ASHERAH has conveyed numerous sides of her artistry as we go through each song placed on "Ephemeral." Having us leave with what we deem one of her most heartrending tracks has us ready to put this E.P on repeat and study every sonic inch of this poignant and thought-provoking electro-pop masterpiece. Congratulations on the release of your debut E.P. "Ephemeral." We would love it if you could pull us into your mind for a moment and go into detail about the concept of this body of work. What does "Ephemeral" mean to you? I was stuck between naming the record Ephemeral or Eternal for a while. Two opposites but both concepts that I felt made sense in the context of the E.P. "Ephemeral" because we are here in this body, in this life, for only a moment. Even if you believe in reincarnation or that the soul persists, we hold these earthly identities so briefly. You'll never have the same experience twice. I considered "Eternal" because I believe I will find my friend (and album muse) again across lifetimes but ultimately went with Ephemeral because his time here was so short. In terms of the messages and emotions conveyed, what are you hoping your audience takes away from this E.P.? I think one of the best things about music is that it'll never mean the same thing to everyone. For me, Ephemeral was my grief therapy for the loss of my friend. I wanted these four songs to each detail different aspects of his passing. River was written as a metaphor for addiction. Holy was my anger and confusion. Chasm was the most difficult to finish because I kept crying during the vocal takes. It was the farthest depths of my grief and drowning in my new reality. More Than Miles is a goodbye lullaby giving both him and me the okay to move on. A lot of the imagery in it is very literal because I traveled a lot after his passing just to get away from all the places that reminded me of him, to try to get out of my head. I physically went to "mountains, valleys, and seas" to be held by nature and escape the profound loss, but I think I looked for him there too. It was also important to me that something positive came out of this, so I decided to donate all of Ephemeral's Bandcamp proceeds to a local harm reduction organization (https://www.rebelrecoveryfl.com/). Do you happen to have a favorite song on the tracklist? What's your reasoning behind this? Chasm is hands down my favorite piece I've written, both on the E.P. and since I started writing music. Lyrically it's incredibly simple, but my feelings were expressed more through the note choices and repetitiveness of the choral sections. I wanted it to feel a little too long in parts because that's how my grief felt. The way it builds, crescendos, and dies down to a whisper is how it felt to lose this person who meant so much to me. I feel Medulasa, and I really captured the exasperation and exhaustion that comes with mourning the loss of a loved one. My boyfriend also suggested that I sample my friend's voice in the song, so the muffled talking you hear around 1:50 is him playing with his cats, whom he loved. I love that I have a piece of him in the song that feels almost tangible. What has been the best advice you've been given through your music career thus far? Honestly? It was to learn to produce. Learn to use a DAW functionally. I'm still a beginner when it comes to the production and engineering side of things, but it's already opened so many doors not having to rely on a producer to record at their studio. In this day and age, you have to be able to hold your own on that front. Especially being a woman. What's next for you? There's so much pressure to keep up a consistent stream of "content," and I think right now, I just want to take things a day at a time. I have some prospective singles I'd love to put out before the end of the year and a couple of collaborations in the vault, but the latter are beyond my control. But I actually recently befriended a producer whose music I'm obsessed with, so there might be something fun out in the not-too-distant future. INSTAGRAM
- Get "Truth Sick," With Dandelyin And Xavi Suede
Meeting in Okinawa, Japan, through their affiliations with military service, Dandelyin and Xavi Suede were positioned in 2021 to join together for musical cooperation with a new style. The singer-songwriter and producer from New England, Dandelyin holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts and wrote and released her first EP, 'Gold-Plated,' under the Factory Underground Records label in 2018. On the other hand, Xavi Suede hails from South Florida as an entrepreneur and songwriter/lyricist. Owning the branding company Xavi Xclusives, an Italian clothing line, Suede X Brands, and being an executive partner of a rising modeling agency, Lunar Modeling Agency, Xavi Suede has his entrepreneur hat on tightly. "Truth Sick" is a collaborative effort that has these two emerging artists glistening in the spotlight. From the instrumentation to the lyrical motifs that resonate deeply with us, a magical aura protrudes from this intimate soundscape. Holding power to grasp onto our attention dynamically, every bit of our focus goes towards "Truth Sick" as soon as it begins to play through the speakers. Utilizing a witty and melodic sing-rap style, the inimitable timbres of Dandelyin submerge you in a blissful groove that whisks you into the effervescent destination cast through the speakers. We also need to acknowledge the seamless transition between Dandelyin's angelic croons and Xavi Suede's smooth verses. Their dynamic acts as a larger-than-life force that pulls us into this composition that much more. "I will remember you. Will you remember me?" is the age-old question that comes to us as the tempo increases and the percussion patterns go all in. Continuously bringing us to this point and provoking thought within the deaths of ourselves, it's hard to resist the charm that Dandelyin professes. Propelling the perfect combination of charisma and emotion into "Truth Sick," both Dandelyin and Xavi Suede show us why they keep coming together to create musical excellence. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Dandelyin, and Xavi Suede, and congratulations on the release of your latest hit, "Truth Sick." You both allow listeners to feast on such authentic lyrics through this masterpiece. What inspired the vulnerability poured into this track? Dandelyin: Personally, when I heard this beat, the riff hit me in a very nostalgic place. It was in between a 90s alternative rock song and pop/r&b from the early 2000s. It actually reminded me of specific Billboard hits of those times and brought me back to adolescence. Ironically, what I wrote about in the actual lyrics is how irritated I once was, but now appreciate the creativity of recycling the sounds of a millennial's youth, especially when we have approached the GenZ generation of music production. Their work reflects our millennial music, and we need to support their ability to produce the future of what we, like generations before, have brought to the world. What was it like working with one another to bring this song to life? Dandelyin: Working with Xavi has always been such a good experience. He has quite an easy-going and entrepreneurial spirit, and it is contagious. Getting to know him on a friendship level before ever deciding to collaborate on music certainly set the stage for the different flavors of music we chose. We certainly have our own tastes but compromised on songs we knew were fire for our sound. I love working with rappers because they bring a whole different element to a song, like The Fugees. It was such a vibe. Souls and worlds collide. It is a beautiful thing! Do you find that you both carry the same workflow when working together that you have when working independently? Dandelyin: I have been writing and producing music since I was about nineteen, and I would say I do not have one specific way of collaborating with people, but I usually find it easiest to either produce or find the music first, feel out the emotion and take flight from there. With two writers involved, like with Xavi, we always sort of asked each other what their ideas and feelings were when listening. However, sometimes an idea would flow out of Xavi, or out of me first, and we would just run with it. We did have the power to veto ideas without offending the other and constructively critique one another while in the studio. We are supposed to be 50/50 on these songs, and we both had to equally love the outcome. What central message would you like your audience to take away from this record? Dandelyin: The album's central message is just to filter out what these songs made us feel. As someone who has worked with producers on a five-song EP Gold-Plated at Factory Underground Studio, under an independent label, as well as independently produced and released my own music, I can safely say that collaborating with Xavi on these recent singles was an entirely different and welcoming experience. I really enjoy the creative process of recording music and to do it with another vibrant soul was a pleasure. I was glad to be part of this art. What's next for you? Dandelyin: We are still releasing singles over the year, but really the sky's the limit. We hope that people want to listen to what we have created with our humble hearts, lots of love, and generally, really good energy. Xavi Suede Instagram Dandelyin Instagram
- Chris Simonato Relishes 'That Night In June'
From Guelph, Canada, comes a blossoming singer-songwriter and contemporary rock recording artist Chris Simonato with his years-in-the-making debut 10-track album, 'That Night In June.' Inspired by Queen's guitarist Brian May and other greats of the 70s and 80s, Chris Simonato started taking guitar lessons at a young age and later graduated from Fanshawe College with a diploma in music production. After spending a decade behind the microphone working through original pieces, he began working on his first full-length album over a period of three years. The result was his debut record, 'That Night In June,' which helps new listeners get to know Simonato's dynamic tunes and explorative instrumentals that range from contemporary rock to twangy country. Without further ado, let's take the record for a spin. Beginning our journey into the album, we're met with the exciting intro track "The Rain," which kicks off with a groovy rhythm guitar and warm contemporary rock instrumentals that set the reflective tone perfectly. Chris Simonato takes his time to deliver such introspective lyrics about spending nights lying awake and hearing the rain dance on the rooftop. And when these lonely nights roll around, Simonato can't help but think of someone special while comparing the falling rain to his broken dreams. The song's production and instrumentals perfectly keep the groove alive while adding another in-depth layer of sonic emotion. Moving into track number two, "Emerald Sky," this lively tune kicks off with the brightest contemporary rock instrumentals that slow down and bring us into a feel-good 80s rock experience that oozes with passion and anticipation. Listening to Chris Simonato's loving words, he begins touching on how someone appeared out of nowhere and swooned him with her emerald sky eyes. Although Simonato uses this song to express his affection for this person, he keeps us tapping our feet to his dynamic and refreshing rock instrumentals that shine like the first ray of the morning sun. Nothing more than a regular "Thursday Afternoon" rolls around on track number three, but this time, Chris Simonato uses the intro to deepen the album's emotion while singing of waiting to see someone special. This song's down-tempo feel perfectly enhances the ballad-like atmosphere, especially as the warm organs and passionate rhythm guitar continue drifting through our speakers. Chris Simonato continues to describe those refreshing moments of reacquainting oneself with a lover and not being able to find the words to describe his contentment. Moving over to track number four, "I Need to Know," Chris Simonato opens the song with his lush acoustic guitar picking and soft vocals that wonder if someone's love is here to stay. As we make our way over to the chilling hook, Chris Simonato is joined by the soothing vocal stylings of Mariah MacFarlane for an added boost of dynamic power and passion. We love the introspective feel of this song, and we're sure anyone can relate to Simonato and MacFarlane's lyrics that endlessly wonder if someone is who they say they are. Landing on the album's halfway point with "Your Flame," Chris Simonato opens this song with another 80s pop-rock ballad-like instrumental that glitters and gleams with a piercing lead guitar and the warmest keys. As the tender acoustic guitar takes the verse alongside Chris Simonato's soothing vocals, he begins to wonder what's in store for a relationship that he hopes is here to stay. This is definitely one of the most passionate points of the album thus far, and the instrumentals perfectly back him up with their soft and melodic arrangements. Onto the album's second half with "Over and Over Again," this track kicks off with a cinematic and animated piano melody while Chris Simonato tears back the heavy rock layers and jumps in with his crunchy rhythm guitar and mid-tempo drums. While passionately singing of wanting someone's love and yearning for it day after day, he grooves his way over to the anthemic hook and describes how his personality makes his heartburn with desire. We love this lustful and powerful track; it perfectly adds another thrilling bend down the album's dynamic path. Keeping the album's brightness alive is track number seven, "The Moment," which opens with a radiant electric guitar, lush acoustic, and the warmest keys. Listening to Chris Simonato's lyrics, he takes his time to passionately deliver his thoughtful lyrics about feeling weak when in someone's presence and trying to get it together. Making our way to the easy-listening hook, Simonato perfectly captures those heartfelt and passionate moments of feeling lost in someone's presence while ramping up the instrumental's energy to match those exciting situations. Pumping up the party is track number eight, "Show Me," which offers this magnetic and almost Barracuda-esque rhythm guitar riff to send us into the high-energy first verse. The overall country-rock instrumentals bring the song into another exhilarating space while Chris Simonato yearns for someone to show him what love really feels like. This is another song that's a treat for the ears and incredibly balanced, meaning it's a joy to feast your ears on such a cohesive arrangement and one that comes out the gate swinging with a passionate message of devotion. Turning things down a notch with the ninth track, "If You Could Ever Love Me," this song takes us by the hand with soulful acoustic guitar melodies, a tender piano, and Chris Simonato's honest words that ask someone for the complete and utter truth to put his mind at ease. This is definitely one of the most vulnerable songs on the album, and we can't help but feel chills when Simonato confesses his love for someone special in this utmost endearing way. The soothing and dreamy instrumentals perfectly lift us to the outro while maintaining all the passion and emotion Simonato sings with. Reaching the album's tenth and final track, "Just Like Yesterday," the outro track launches us into this feel-good space with upbeat acoustic guitar riffs, a blistering rhythm guitar, and thumping mid-tempo drum breaks. Chris Simonato takes this song to continue expressing his love for someone special and describing their every way, which, unfortunately, he sees as they're walking away. This is nothing new to Chris Simonato, who chooses to let them walk away due to the nerves he feels when in their presence. But one thing's for sure, Simonato will remain enthralled by the person for far longer than he expected. Experience pure passion and heartfelt compositions within Chris Simonato's 10-track album, 'That Night In June,' now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Chris Simonato. We are so impressed with the passion and honesty you've brought to your debut album, 'That Night In June.' Do you remember what inspired you to create this record? I had most of the songs written and really was tired of not trying to do anything with them. Playing cover songs can be fun, but eventually, favorite as a musician who wants to move forward, I think you have to start playing your own music. I knew the songs could be more than just chords and lyrics in my head. I am really proud of how it turned out! Which song from 'That Night In June' is the most personal and special to you? What makes that song so meaningful? All of the songs are special to me in some way, but the song Your Flame is probably the most meaningful to me because I wrote it for the wonderful woman who is now my wife! However, my personal favorite song on the record is The Rain. There is just something about that song that I love. It was the first song recorded for the record, and I still smile every time I hear it. What sort of experience did you want to bring listeners through when hitting play on the album 'That Night In June'? What emotions or thoughts did you want to evoke in your audience? I wanted them to be able to picture what is happening in each song through the lyrics. Musically I hope listeners are reminded of the music they would have enjoyed back in the 80s and 90s. I think the arrangements on each song were successful at doing this. Did you work alongside any producers or fellow musicians when bringing 'That Night In June' to life? Is there anyone you'd like to shout out to? The record would not have been possible without Charlie McEvoy (https://www.instagram.com/charlie_mcevoy/). He owns and operates In Tune Audio in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. He was my co-producer. He also mixed and mastered the record and played any piano or organ parts on the songs. He also did a great job of making sure that my performances on all the other parts were the best they could be. How does 'That Night In June' differ from your forthcoming album 'Look Beyond The Imperfections? I think you can hear a lot of 80s and 90s influence on That Night in June. It also is a very ballad-driven record with themes around love or admiration. Look Beyond the Imperfections will have a more edgy, driven feel to it. Overall it will be a more upbeat modern approach to my style. It will also be my first attempt at doing a record completely on my own. INSTAGRAM

Welcome to BuzzMusic, LoveLazer, and congratulations on your latest release, "The Road It's Hard (When Your Enemies Are Many)." You've mentioned that this song is for the underdogs, to not give up, and to face the obstacles that may come their way. Was this inspired by things you've had to overcome personally throughout life? No, not really, I mean, I've had to overcome things and move forward, but everyone has to in life. You see, when I make music, I never set out with an intent for a song to be or sound a certain way. I start writing and just let the song make itself. I'm just there to mold the sounds a certain way and make the pieces fit. What sort of listening experience did you want to give your audience with "The Road It's Hard (When Your Enemies Are Many)." How did you want the song to make them feel? The feeling or vibe I got from this track is kind of like a struggle, a path that is blocked by an overwhelming force or by many, and it feels like a battle of sorts to get through. This is just like life itself. Every day, people battle with inner demons and outer ones, myself included. Wars are waged internally and externally, and we all have them. But the vibe of the track for me is a hard path, and every step is pushing through the struggle. I guess this is what I hope people hear in it. Who have been some of your major musical inspirations over the last few years of your creative journey? Oh man, that's a loaded question. Music that has inspired me over the course of my journey....one band I really love, is Sigur Rós, and I've listened to them since around 1999. They are so amazing at what they can do. They make such powerful music that really moves you in so many ways. Absolutely nothing to do with Synthwave or EDM in any way, but they've always inspired me to want to make music that conveys an emotion or makes you feel a certain way. What sort of atmosphere and vibe did you want the instrumentals and production to give off in "The Road It's Hard (When Your Enemies Are Many)?" Who helped bring the sonics to life? I just wanted a bit of a darker Synthwave vibe or tone for this track, but as I said before, I like to let the songs write themselves, and I feel I got an interesting mix. Not quite the Synthwave vibe I set out to get, and more leaning into an alternative EDM/Dubstep mashed into Synthwave vibe. I think the change came when I swapped out my standard bass Synths, as the track took on a whole different kinda sound then. What's next for you? The next thing will be finishing my first full-length album titled 'Neon Lovers.' So I hope this single will get people interested in hearing what comes next. Instagram Facebook
