- Ardy Talks New Video "On My Way"
It's great to have you here on BuzzMusic Ardy! Tell us a bit about your journey into the Rap/ Hip-hop music industry and any struggles you experienced along the way? As a kid growing up in Toronto, I fell in love with hip hop instantly. My introduction to the music industry happened in 2011 when I discovered that I have talent in writing and performing music, so that gave me the confidence to keep going. Obviously there have been many struggles along the way, but at the end of the day, I continued to work on my craft and believe in myself. How does "On My Way" represent you as a music artist? What did you envision in the makings of this track? ON MY WAY represent my journey, my belief to keep going, and striving for greatness, knowing that " No one can stop me". Has your music been influenced by any music artist? Do you see it changing over the next few years? If yes, how so? My city is a huge influence on my music. People like Drake, The Weeknd, Tory Lanez play a big role in pushing the culture forward. And most definitely artists like J.Cole, & Kendrick Lamar are huge influences from recent history on my music. Though Hip Hop artists are not the only people who have influenced me. Groups and artists such as Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Smokey Robinson, BB King, and many more have helped shaped my sound. At the end of the day, we take all of our influences and we make it into what we feel sounds dope. I do like to keep up with the time and release music that is accepted by the mainstream consumers, while still staying true to my soul and release music that has a positive message. Enlighten us on the message being portrayed in "On My Way". Does it come from personal experiences? ON MY WAY is an anthem for anybody who has goals in succeeding. I wrote ON MY WAY to not only share my belief with the listeners but to also inspire and motivate them to never stop believing in themselves. I too like many artists/people have doubted myself many times, and I have to continuously remind myself that I am on the right path and that I will never stop pursuing my dreams. Thank you, Ardy for being here with us! Overall, such an amazing song that could definitely be a huge hit. With 2019 coming to an end, what can we expect from you in 2020? To close out the year, I will release more videos for my singles off of my iMAGINE EP. And in 2020 I have more music in store which I am working on now, and I can not wait to share them with you! twitter.com/ardyis11 instagram.com/ardyis11 facebook.com/ardyis11 #BuzzMusic

Citing artists such as SZA, The Weeknd, and Lauryn Hill as inspiration, the versatility of her music can be heard throughout her releases. Drawing from personal experience in her songwriting, and having been through difficult periods in life dealing with both parents' cancer diagnosis, her personal journey of growing up, healing from grief, and finding love; the listener can feel the raw powerful emotion poured into Chéri's artistic craft. We are so honored to have discovered Chéri Yielle and her exceptional talent. 2020 is going to be the year for her! Listen to Chéri Yielle here. Welcome to Buzz Music Cheri! Your debut EP Surrender is absolutely beautiful. How did you find the process of writing and recording an album? Thank you! The process was such an evolutionary experience in my life. It came about in such scraps and pieces, like finding buried treasures over years in random places just to realizes they were all pieces of the same puzzle. The names of the songs literally arranged themselves to make the order: "Save My Soul, Rainbow In The Sky. Come Home Before I Fall Off The Rim". I had tons of other songs started or written, but I found who I was as an artist through making this project and choosing what songs belonged there. I'd even apply that to just learning how to trust my gut and finding my truth in that. The recording was really emotional, but it was so fascinating and humbling to hear how it came together as more was added. I designed a lot of the vocals at home before going to the studio, so I was very critical and choosy on that end. I appreciate the people that worked with me because I could be really vulnerable and intense in the studio. I cried for a couple of songs. When things weren't progressing that fast, I cherish all the patience in the room. I credit everything I know now and can do now to what I learned through this process. Your songs are so honest, authentic, and raw with emotion. Do you find writing music this emotional to be cathartic? It's very cathartic. It's healing, but it's also painful. Writing it was very triggering for me. The truth is triggering, and hearing my own emotions in the words and the melodies is liberating and super overwhelming. It brings up not just grief, but also other stuff like memories from my childhood and dreams or sad thoughts about the future. I get lost in it all, and that's when I feel like I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing and something is going to be OK. What was it like making a music video for your single Come Home? I love my director Shot By Cruz. He let me live in that creative process, which was awesome. I got to express a slightly different side of myself with the more enticing and risky shots. I had so many different ideas and visions that would have been really nice, but I ended up wanting to share an adaptation of the real story - being cheated on and never knowing (until eventually, I found out...). Also, I feel like sometimes, people hear a bit of my music and certain expectations pop up that might not really be me. It was great to take the driver's seat and shed some light on other sides of who I am. What is your songwriting process? Do you create the lyrics or melody first? My process usually starts with sitting behind the keyboard hooked to my computer or with my guitar. I usually start singing over some chords and flow line by line. Sometimes, I just record a melody or some lyrics and melody and add music later, or sometimes I have lyrics written and add melody and music later. Once in a while, I create the beat before all of that. We love your remix of No Guidance. Do you plan on releasing more remixes? Thank you! Yes, there are some ideas that I KNOW I have to follow through with. What's next for you in 2020? Definitely new music and visuals, more performing, and really cool collaborations, I think 2019 has been preparing me for a lot, and I'm ready. I want to make everyone who has faith in me super proud next year. Including you guys! instagram.com/cheriyielle soundcloud.com/cheriyielle twitter.com/cheriyielle #BuzzMusic
- 5 Questions With What Makes Sense
Hey guys! Welcome to BuzzMusic! For those of us that don't know your story, what brought the two of you together to form What Makes Sense? Thank you! We're stoked on being here. Avery and I (Radam) met when we were in college and formed a band called One For The Braves (OFTB). When OFTB broke up in 2018, Avery and I decided to keep going with something new and began What Makes Sense. Which track was the most challenging both musically and lyrically to create, and why? How did you overcome this challenge? The most challenging for sure was "Raging Bull." We pretty much wrote it while in the studio, and the style was definitely something different for us at the time, me especially. I drew so many blanks when working on the lyrics and vocals for it that I had to take some time and really listen to the instrumental. Finally, I came out with what you hear now and couldn't be happier with the result. Your sound is an excellent addition to the pop-punk culture. Do you see yourself incorporating other styles in the future? Thank you! We are almost always trying to find new styles to incorporate. Avery is a huge Dream Theater fan, and whenever there is a moment to shred, he takes it, which is something we are trying to incorporate more. Recently, I've been really into bands like The Menzingers and The Gaslight Anthem, and there is definitely some influence from there on the new stuff we've been writing. Still, at the end of the day, we love pop-punk and our sound especially and will continue to grow it in whatever way seems natural. Which artists have been your biggest influence and why? These questions are always so hard to answer for me because there are so many bands that influenced us, but if I had to sum it up into three bands, I would say New Found Glory, The Story So Far, and Four Year Strong are always some go-to sources for inspiration. What's next for What Makes Sense? Shows and new music! We started working with our friends Nick Crispi and Eddie Petershagen and are looking to keep busy in 2020 with shows and new music. We have some shows booked that we will be announcing very soon and also have some demos we've been playing around with. facebook.com/wmsny instagram.com/wmsny #BuzzMusic

- Small Town Girl with a Big Town Voice; Hannah Gross
All the way from Metro Detroit, Hannah Gross proves that big voices can come from small cities. She’s now based in one of the most creative environments to live in, Los Angeles where she has been killing the game! Her music is extremely genre-bending, but she tends to often dip into the world of dark pop. Dark Pop is a fun genre that brings a lot of edge out the listener. Hannah Gross takes this edge and adds her special flavor to the ingredient, creating a more fierce impact. Hannah Gross has literally known for her outspokenly bold lyrics that are unforgiving as it is captivating. Her vocal tone is purely addictive. She has a soulful rasp that carries her throughout the melodies in her music. Hannah’s innate ability to switch so effortlessly between a subtle softness to a powerful belt is mind-boggling. This striving diva has released two dynamic singles, “Fuck The Party” and “Real Love”. She has come this far, so why would she stop now? Hannah has had nothing but an excellent 2019 with her music career. She's the life to your party, she's the one artist who you need on all your feel-good playlists. We can't wait to see what's in store for her in 2020! Listen to Hannah Gross here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Hannah Gross! In what ways living in Los Angeles inspired you? Hi! Well, for starters the ocean, the palm trees, and the weather--you can’t really beat that. I’m from the Midwest where I froze my ass off for 24 years. I also think the types of creative, motivated people out here are inspiring; I respect the hustle a lot. We’re a big fan of your music! What were the themes behind both singles “Fuck The Party” and “Real Love”? Interestingly, the two songs both a similar message: I was looking to feel something real. There are so many vices you can choose to numb yourself from reality, and yeah it’s absolutely fun sometimes, but, damn, don’t you just get tired of the fake shit? How was the creative process behind both of these songs? Which was more challenging for you? The processes for both singles were pretty different. I heart the menacing beat for Fuck the Party and I immediately was flooded with words. I remember going in the booth and singing on top of the track, “Fuck the party let go to my bed instead” on repeat. My producer Taylor was like--that’s it. That’s the hook. The song was finished in a matter of hours. Real Love was a bit of a longer process. I originally wrote the song to the guitar. I was going for westerny and eerie, but the song kind of evolved into something anthemic. It is my favorite song to perform live. I go all out and the crowd sings along and it just brings me such happiness. I’m like, this is why I chose this career path. Were there any different arrangements you wanted to try between both singles? Mind explaining? Fuck the Party is a beaut and I wouldn’t change her for a thing. I think having a remix would be amazing though--it’ll give it more of a dance-pop vibe. I plan to re-record Real Love in a live/acoustic setting. That is where the song really shines. In what ways were you able to personally relate to these tracks as an artist? These are my words, my melodies. They come from a deep place of emotion that is really hard for me to access in any other way besides my writing. Talk to us about this upcoming year 2020! What are you expecting out of yourself 1 year from now? Expect to hear more singles dropping, more shows, and more Hannah Gross in your face. Get at me, 2020. instagram.com/itshannahgross twitter.com/itshannahgross facebook.com/itshannahgross #BuzzMusic

Armani Colón has the sensational sound with his smooth-sailing voice that will create chemistry between you and his music. Armani Colón is bound to make a great impression on his newly found listeners and we’re excited to see all that’s in store for him! Listen to Armani Colón here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Armani Colón! Living in Los Angeles can be highly inspiring. In what ways are you influenced by your environment? -I feel a common misconception most have about Los Angeles is that it’s a party city. From my experience most people are out here grinding, putting in work, with that element around it’s natural for things to get competitive. You have to work a little smarter than the next person, you have to simultaneously focus on your work but pay attention to the market and see what’s moving and what’s not. And of course, you have to remain authentic to yourself and your art above all else. Knowing that you’re around celebrities that are doing the same thing that you’re doing definitely inspires you, for me, I’m not competing with the other independent artists, I’m competing with the celebrities. Let’s talk about your music as well! Who are some of your main influences for your unique sound? -My mom and pops had very eclectic tastes in music. Growing up you could hear anything from José Feliciano to Michel’le to The Notorious B.I.G. in one sitting. Because of this I always had an appreciation for a wide range of music. And because of that, I grab inspiration from all over the place. That bass line from a track from the ’70s, the vocal tone from an R&B song in the ’90s, some bars from a rap battle, I could mess around and hear the melody from a Disney song and get inspired. This unique pool of inspiration is what influences the unique sound in my music. Talk to us about your release “Armani”. What was the theme behind this? Were there any different arrangements you were seeking? The album “Armani” is very much like the person, all over the place but somehow still very focused. While I was working on my second project “Y.T.I.P. (You Think I’m Playing)” I had already begun to purchase beats for future use from a wide range of producers and began to write demo tracks as soon as it was released. Musically, I’d like to do like Kanye West, where no two albums sound alike. I always push to make something that sounds different than what I’ve previously put out. How would you describe the songwriting approach behind “Armani”? My engineer, Zach Summerill, encouraged me to use more melodies and grooves in my verses. To me, that meant to sing more. In contrast to my previous releases there is way more singing and melody on “Armani”, but I feel that’s also why it’s being so well received. I’m a sucker for a good melody myself and being a fan of music first I heard enough catchy melodies to understand how to create them. But I also consider myself a rapper first and foremost. I got my start recording freestyles over other artists’ music on my Mac book and I never want to lose that element of it. I’ll always keep a hot 16 in my music somewhere, I love rap too much. What are some of the main challenges you face in the creation process of your music? MONEY!!! Haha, if you take your music seriously and want it to sound good you have to drop some money into it. A lot of people are always trying to cut corners or not pay the required amount to make something decent and it shows. I’m blessed to have met other like-minded folks that share my vision, are really masters of their craft and are able to work with my budget. I’ve always had an active imagination and I’m rarely short on creative ideas, but I don’t always have the resources, money or time to execute them. My biggest challenge right now is getting to a place where I can sustain myself entirely from my music. Once there I can really let some of my crazier ideas fly. What’s next for you Armani Colón? The only certainty of life is it’s uncertainty, right? I can’t tell you when but I definitely want to shoot a music video for the whole album “Armani”, I know it’s a bit ambitious but if we don’t push ourselves to do bigger things, who will? I definitely intend to drop a mixtape as well, whether before or after the music video, who knows? And you can expect to see me performing more as I continue to promote “Armani”, be on the lookout. instagram.com/armanifromvirginia twitter.com/armanifromVA facebook.com/armanifromvirginia #BuzzMusic
- Like Nothing You've Heard Before Comes the Sounds of SpaceDeath in His Single “Kirino”
Adrian Obloza, better known as SpaceDeath, is a new and upcoming Electronic Rock/ Pop experimental artist and vocalist. Just like outer space, which is mysterious and limitless, SpaceDeath is like a sound out of this universe. Obloza defines himself as a non-conformist and aims to produce music that reflects on his personal experiences while creating a unique and visually appealing rendition. This young artist not only writes original tracks but also performs and produces all of his pieces and unique sounds. Quickly gaining a reputation with outstanding 900+ followers on Instagram, the local Kitchener born artist is making a statement in the Emo/ Darkwave genres. His single “Kirino” will put you in a trance vibe with a completely different state of mind. From the beginning, the song has a very deep and textured keyboard vibe. Going back to his inspiration for space, which is still yet to be defined, the artist cleverly uses auto-tune and echoing side effects to add additional mystery and wonder about his true voice. Whether intentional or not, I noticed his single features an Anime persona. Unsure, how this relates to Obloza’s sound until halfway through the song where he incorporates the meek and high pitch vocals of a female voice. All the elements and layers featured in this song, undoubtedly come from the uninspiring visionary who will likely change the future of music production. We hope an album is in the making. Listen to SpaceDeath here. Welcome to BuzzMusic SpaceDeath. We love your single "Kirino". Can you give us a little bit of background on your journey into this type of unique music and sounds? Thank you! My journey into this type of sound comes from a lot of experimentation. I can say that in terms of the way I arrange sounds and vocals, I have found a style and a vibe. While at the same time, I feel that my sound is always evolving. I find satisfaction in always trying something different with each new track and reaching new levels of sound. Where and how did you learn how to play the keyboard like that? What influences you to create this type of music? I’ve had a piano since I was 6 and was always drawn to it and just loved messing around on it. I started taking lessons when I was in high school and quit after 2 years once because I wanted to begin learning by myself at my own pace, and at this point I had already understood the fundamentals and had enough skill that I could teach myself how to play at home and practice by composing my own melodies, which I still do now. I am influenced by my unending drive to keep creating music and making music that is a true expression of my soul. I feel like as a person I grow with the music I create, and I connect with myself emotionally more with each new song I complete. How is anime related to your sound? Why is it important for your music? Similar to how I create music by making what I want to listen to, I take the same approach with visuals. In my media I apply visuals that I find aesthetically pleasing to me, thus being anime. I am influenced by anime as it is what I spend my time watching in between making tracks, and the images I use in a song are sometimes influenced by the anime I am watching at the time. I do this because I think it’s important to connect the visuals with the feelings of my music. Are there any artists out there that inspire you in the makings of your unique music and sounds? I grew up hearing a lot of 90s electronic music that my parents played around me and 00s rap/rock music, particularly Linkin Park along with Mike Shinoda’s solo act whose evolutionary discography has always inspired me to continually reinvent myself. As I got older I had discovered Amon Tobin and his surreal experimental works, where I realized that I want to take seriously, because I learned that creating music can be approached in many different and unusual ways. Along the way, I also felt very influenced by artists like Nine Inch Nails, Bonobo, and Of Monsters and Men. Thank you so much SpaceDeath. What do you have planned for 2020? Any plans of an album anytime soon that we can look forward to? I am going be releasing a ton of music, and in early 2020 I will release my album “BlackHearts” on all platforms, which will contain “Kirino”, certain recent tracks off my Soundcloud, along with new unheard songs. I will be starting a collective/community called "StarlightDestroyers" to connect with fans and bring together great artists. In terms of my sound, and I am going to be experimenting with different styles of music and continue to evolve my sound. instagram.com/spxcedeath twitter.com/spxcedeath #BuzzMusic
- Lone Wild Is Changing the World, One Song at a Time
Lone Wild is the exact kind of alternative/rock band that we desperately needed this week. They incorporate soundings from a variety of sources and bring together an ultimately harmonious, yet audacious performance. We were impressed by the band after listening to one track, which tells us right away that they're great at first impressions from listeners. Their performances, we can only imagine, are wild and exhilarating. A sounding that's striking, and completely memorable: "Stranger Ways". "Stranger Ways" is an extremely integrative alternative rock track from Lone Wild. They incorporate the best elements that alternative/rock listeners crave in a track like this. The sultry tone the lead vocalist is able to fulfill is incredibly charming, which adds a sounding to "Stranger Ways" that we think really amplifies the overall quality. Collectively, Lone Wild brings together their strong passion, which is easily distinguishable from the harmony presented in "Stranger Ways", and creates a thrilling experience for listeners. The vocal dynamics are crafted so purely and executed in a rough and vigorous way. The production completely matches this dynamic, as it's fully embodied in a blend of alluring and fierce melodies. We know that Lone Wild expressed their gritty and industrialized side throughout "Stranger Ways", and we absolutely adore that type of sounding. They clearly don't fabricate their sound, the authenticity is 100% there, and the atmospheric side to their sound takes us to a whole other level with them. They're a sick alternative/rock band, providing a more bustling and high-spirited sound we know listeners will soon become addicted to because we fully did. We can easily say that Lone Wild is the type of band we're undoubtedly intrigued in after hearing "Stranger Ways". "Stranger Ways" is definitively the track that matches Lone Wild to the big-name alternative/rock bands, and we're seriously anticipating what they can release next. Listen to Lone Wild's "Stranger Ways" here. Welcome to BuzzMusic! We love your new vision to change the world, what made you donate some of your profits to Pre-emptive Love Coalition? Does this organization have any personal ties? Hey, thanks so much for taking the time to ask us some questions, we don’t get to do it often so we always enjoy getting to shed a little more light on the music and our cause too. I’m gonna try and keep the answer to this short, but I think a little background may help. Our choice to share some of our profits actually came from a vision I (Ashkan) had way back in the first ‘version’ of this band (Aftermidnight) but backing up, even more, it kinda sparked when I was a teenager. I caught a concert on PBS back when I was like 13 or 14 with what is now one of my favorite bands (the band is U2). At the concert, there was a very emotional point where I was just so utterly moved that I had the whole ‘goosebump’ moment. You know the one you get sometimes when listening to music that just strikes a chord with you? That probably hadn’t happened often to me at that point, but it was at that moment that I said: “I want to do that - I want to create those same feelings with music.” So fast forward, as I continued down that road with music, I later learned on all the humanitarian and social justice efforts that Bono was involved in Africa, and how he used his platform for more than just playing music. So, years go by, and in the earlier years we started the band ‘Aftermidnight.’ Though it was started with good intentions and with a cause behind it, we never really activated on it and carried ideas through. Then that sort of fell apart, and eventually, we wound up where we’re at today and decided “ya know? I don’t need to necessarily start some sort of organization from scratch that is doing something — what if we start with simply helping another organization that is ALREADY doing something huge in the Middle-East.” So that’s pretty much how we decided to give at least 10% of what we have to Preemptive Love. The reason we chose them, is because I am first generation Persian-American, my dad came to America from Iran when he was 15, and so it’s sort of a way to stay true to my heritage & my childhood, but also to help give back to the children & refugees in the Middle-East...ok sorry, that was long. How does Lone Wild compare to the earlier works of The Fairweather? Musically, I’d have to say things are a lot more focused and reigned in. I feel like it took a while to sort of figuring out what kind of music we wanted to make and how it worked with everyone else involved. When we wrote some of the songs for what would later find their way into Lone Wild’s catalog we were still The Fairweather, and we started to tailor the songs to be a bit more focused and not so all over the place as far as the overall genre. The Fairweather was a lot more guitar-driven rock and roll, and each song kinda felt like a sketch rather than a finished picture. We did have a few songs that had ‘dancier’ vibes, and those were songs that I genuinely loved getting to sing and perform. So, we started to do this sort of dance-rock type of thing back then, and as things were winding down in The Fairweather due to members needing to take time with family it kinda left a wide-open space to experiment, at least for me. This helped kinda run things through the filter of 1 person rather than 4, which concentrated things a little bit more. I don’t know though, we still have some songs from The Fairweather days that we love and have talked about re-introducing into the fold, it’s just how/when is the tricky part. Which artists are the biggest influences on your work? Hmmmm, so for me I LOVE music with a strong male vocalist that’s emotive. I just find myself leaning that way as the singer. I also love a good songwriter. So, first and foremost I’d have to say, Jeff Buckley - he’s probably one of my all-time favorites, and I wish he were still alive to keep doing what he did so amazingly well. I obviously will say U2 cause they’re somehow always in the back of my head, even though I try to kinda go the opposite direction almost on purpose cause it’s easy to let them influence my own writing. As far as this recent record, we were really pulling from the ’80s so bands/artists like Phil Collins, Tears for Fears, Michael Jackson, Simple Minds, Eurythmics and some Bowie were references when writing this record as well as some more modern bands. As I said, experimentation is big, so when writing the goal is to try & listen to different stuff depending on what we’re feeling for whatever we’re working on, and this record ended up being 80’s inspired through the filter of us. Given that you are focused on indie, alternative, pop, and some 80s influences. How do you see the future of your music evolving? Honestly, I think the rock/alternative backbone will always kinda be there, and I kinda find myself leaning towards writing pop-inspired melodies on the background of alternative music. This recent music was different for me cause though some of the songs have deeper meanings (at least to me) at face value they could just be taken as fun songs, even when there’s a little more going on under the hood. However, as you talked about with regards to evolving, there's definitely a desire to take what has been created and continue to build on that experience as me and the guys are all writing. I liken it to maturing from a teenager, to an adult in your early 20’s, to someone who’s got a family…you take the experience you gained from different seasons of life and apply what you learned so you don’t do the same thing or you at least do it with the intention of getting a different result. So with our last bit of songs, I’m asking “what can I do better? what can I tone down? what even do I wanna do with this next batch of songs?” — Also, when a song comes up that one of us writes, and we’re all vibing on it, we cautiously kinda let that lead the charge of what some of the other songs could sound like. Thank you for chatting with us and provide us with an edgy tune. Seeing that you have performed on many stages, are they any local shows we can expect to see you in? Thanks so much again for taking the time to ask these questions! Over the years we have played a bunch, however, with Lone Wild, we’re still sort of considered new since the name changed. Nonetheless, we’re still playing as often as we can regionally as we get more known in our area. We have one more show in our hometown before the end of the year. We’d absolutely love to do a west coast tour in your neck of the woods, hitting LA at one point, that would be a dream of ours coming true. To be able to do something along those lines next year would be rad, but for now, we’ll just have to keep working hard and play our cards right. Also, if you’re a manager (or you know someone who is) and you vibe with the music — hit us up, we need help from people that believe in us and what we’re doing! lonewild.com instagram.com/thelonewild facebook.com/thelonewild twitter.com/thelonewild #BuzzMusic
- A Classic MC with a Ageless R&B Feel; “Love, Life, and Aquarius” by Mister ATL
Mister ATL has been killing the game with his recognizable blend of urban inspirational, southern, and hip-hop contemporary soul. He released his album titled “Love, Life, and Aquarius.” This album begins with the song “Kut Klose” Kut Klose has the elements of feel-good music with a classic lyrical delivery. This record was a great opener to the album because it highlights not only the potential theme of the album, but it showcases how Mister ATL has a strong old school rap vibe to his style of music. “Kut Klose” is just the beginning of what to expect from this project. Both “Vows” & “Beauty” both showcased a new dimension to Mister ATL’s artistry. He ventured off into the love department of rap music, giving us a clue on why he decided to name this album what he titled it. Mister ATL tackles on a smooth-sailing R&B element to his solid lyrical ability in not only both of those records but the single “The World”. Listening to these 3 songs you begin to think of a special someone who holds true to you. MISTER ATL takes on melodic arrangements with strong emotional conviction, adding chemistry in the mix to create a strong connection between the listener and the music. You feel every note on this album with his powerful dynamics. This album has so many different elements to this project but MISTER ATL knows how to stick to the root of the project while keeping the lustrous and suave aesthetic. One of my personal favorite songs on this album was the record “All Night (Interlude). This small interlude gave me major 90s-early 00s R&B vibes. The erotic, passionate, and smooth arrangements of this made me highly invested in the album and it left you with an unsatisfying abrupt ending that had you longing for more. It was so good you wish it was longer but Mister ATL makes up for it with the next record “Honeymoon”. Listening to “HoneyMoon” continued this time-traveling aesthetic back to the early good days. These the type of songs where you can relive the moments of crushing on that specific person. Mister ATL caters to the ladies but also gives the fellas something they can devote to their loved ones. The next track that came in was “The Call” Interlude and what I loved most about this was how it was setting us up for the perfect transition in the album. In this interlude, there’s dialogue in the form of a phone call requesting for Mister ATL to change the vibe of the album from his love jams to something we can groove to. Mister ATL delivers the wishes with the next transitional record “Heavens Groove”. He goes for a different approach with the lyricism and feel of the track, yet he still brings joy to the listener. I believe “Heavens Groove” represents the “Life” in the album’s title as opposed to the other records representing the “Love”. The next song that transitions in was “Dreaming”, A record that showcased the MC skills Mister ATL demonstrated at the beginning of the album. “Dreaming” was a fantastic record that really highlights the multiple dimensions Mister ATL can deliver as a rapper. The closing record on the album, “Born Sinner” was a raw representation of the story that Mister ATL lived. He allows his listener to become invited into his journey and the thoughts of him as a rapper and human. It showcased vulnerability along with real raw hip-hop. Mister ATL delivered an amazing album that showed us how he has the ability to move between different characters and express a vast range of emotions. This album showed us he can move with the real rap greats and even melodize with the R&B classics. “Love, Life, and Aquarius” was a solid execution and great offering from a shining star undoubtedly. You can listen to the emotionally prevailing “Love, Life, and Aquarius” here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Mister ATL! Let’s talk about your background. How was it growing up? I grew up in a traditional American household with West African influences. My beautiful mother Brenda was born in the states (Columbus, Ga) and my father Henry Sr. was an immigrant from Gambia, Africa. So I had the best of both worlds from music, culture, education, family traditions, and even fashion. Having the African culture and traditional American values under one roof had an impact on not only my musical choice but also my style I grew into. I was born in Atlanta, Ga and raised on the east side of Decatur, Ga in a strong Christian household where both of my parents were heavily involved in the church and community. I, my younger brother Quinten and my older sister Sharhonda were kept active in church, youth groups, school activities, community events, plays or anything that my mother knew was beneficial. I grew up understanding that faith, family, and education was a top priority for me and my siblings. I come from a long line of scholars, entrepreneurs, and college graduates so I knew that if I can conquer my academics then I could have the mental stability to lay the foundation for a successful career in any field of my choice rather than pursuing a college degree or becoming a world-famous musician. They are very supportive and I can not thank GOD enough for them. What inspired you to pursue music? My inspiration behind pursuing music is like an open novel, it is still being written as we speak. I've been inspired to pursue music because I was pushed at a young age to stay active doing something. I participated in activities that were not only beneficial to my cognitive growth but also activities that I now use for my creative appetite. So making the choices early on to join the church youth choir, dance team, storytelling /writing club, and school marching band all helped mold my love and passion for creating audio and creative art. I knew that if I wanted to become the best songwriter or the dopest lyricist or even the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen I had to have a foundation to build on. I had to learn my craft, I had to learn how to read, play and write music (marching band) I also had to learn to choreograph my moves (dance) and learn to vocally express my thoughts and writing (choir, writing, and storytelling club). Over the years I have grown not only as an artist but as a man of GOD. Now I know that my inspiration has changed from being a worldwide superstar to being the inspiration that someone else can look up to and be influenced to embark on their musical journey. If I know that God has blessed me with the gift that can inspire people worldwide through the art of storytelling, testimony, and love then I'm inspired every day to make music. Let’s talk about your album “Love, Life, and Aquarius”. What was the theme behind this project? Does Aquarius have any connection to do with your zodiac sign- if so does that play any influence on the theme of this album? Love, Life, and Aquarius is my debut studio album and took over 2 years to complete including writing, production, and concept mapping. It was a labor of love and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, but, it is finally here. The theme behind the project is within the name, it is a journey through the birth of something new ( Aquarius), the (life) in which we live to make decisions bad or good that pushes us to find the (love) we've been seeking. Yes, Aquarius is my zodiac sign on January 25th, which to me as I was writing the album is a representation to the start of something new and beautiful. Which song was the most challenging for you to create on “Love, Life, and Aquarius” and why? The most challenging song to create off the album was probably Honeymoon produced by Terra Tunez feat Dhall. It was challenging writing a love song that not only grown-ups could listen to but kids could dance and enjoy as well. In the climate musically that we live in, there is little to not clean RnB or love songs in the market. And out on top of that the fact that I am an urban inspirational artist people automatically look sideways at me when they hear an album of love songs from a faith-based artist. I knew to go into creating the Honeymoon track I had to take a different approach. My wife and I never had the chance to have a honeymoon so I wrote the song from the perspective of what our ideal honeymoon getaway would sound like, what it would feel like, and what other couples and lovers around the world would jam to on their special day. I wrote it with the idea of creating a tune that older people would understand with certain references like "I got the green light" or "As long as that ring on your finger we gonna make it boom" but, also keeping it listener-friendly for my younger fans to understand that in order to celebrate a honeymoon with all the perks of it you have to commit and get married first. There are three different versions of Honeymoon that I worked with my engineer Bao from Mixology Studios but, I think the version on the album came out perfectly. How important were the Interludes on this album and the chronological placement of them? Well, the album is like a novel and is sectioned off into three parts or acts. The interlude "All Night" and "The Call" keep the story flowing for the listeners. So to understand the purpose of the interludes is to break down the sections. The intro "Kut Klose" serves as the Aquarius "Act 1" of the album which is the birth or the start of something new. The first 5 tracks after "Kut Klose" are "Act 2 -Love" so each of these tracks tells the story of dreaming about love and what you say if you ever found it. "Vows," is about finding love and making love with your spouse. "Beauty" is admiring love and showing the love you will do anything for it. "The World", which ties into the first interlude "All Night" is where the albums protagonist and his love went from sweethearts to dating to engaged, getting married to tying the knot and the now they are ready to embark on their honeymoon ."Honeymoon" which is the aftermath of making a leap of faith to the commitment and now you can celebrate two strings attached which ends Act 2. "Act 3- Life starts after "The Call" interlude shows our albums protagonist receiving the call that makes him revert to the old him. Kicking off "Heaven's Groove", and "Dreaming", lastly leading into the outro of Act 3 which he then reminisces on his life and love on the track "Born Sinner". What’s next for you Mister ATL? We're looking forward to hearing from you in the new year! Currently, I am working on launching my Love and Life and Aquarius concert series and tour at the top of the year 2020, which will feature performances from some dope artists and the entire album performed live with skits and creative visuals, Details will be posted on my social media and official website soon. I am also continuing to work on outreach and ministry work toward my nonprofit The T.A.L.K Project LLC, business Davies La Fourth LLC & Mister ATL Music and church Hope for Tomorrow within the community and city of Atlanta. I love giving back rather that's through music or charity work. I am also giving away academic scholarships in celebration of my new shirt line "Black, Handsome and Educated" through my clothing line "Born Sinner Dying Saved." This will be for male students looking to attend college or trade school. In regards to new music, I am back in the studio working on remixes for the album, cuts, as well as new music for the New Year. I am also looking to collab with various artists and look forward to some hot features on the way. Lastly, you can expect new music, more ministry, and a #1 album and single on billboard occupied by platinum plaques all next year and I give GOD the glory in advance. instagram.com/realmisteratl twitter.com/misteratl #BuzzMusic

Listen to Laidback Gemini here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Laidback Gemini! Let’s talk about your upbringing. How was it growing up in Montreal? Do you recall some of your early inspirations? This is a welcome back and I appreciate being one of the selected. In the city of Laval north of Montreal is where I grew up, Vimont to be exact. I was always around family and a couple of friends I went to school with. As far as I can remember my earliest inspirations were Bone Thugs, 50 Cent, Dipset, just being a kid memorizing and singing along with the music. With time, I grew to be inspired by others more recently by Big Krit, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, and Wiz Khalifa. Mainly for their music but also for the way they move and how serious they take the craft. What’s the biggest challenge you face as a rapper and how do you tend to overcome the obstacle? The biggest challenge I face as a rapper right now is getting my music to be heard. There's a lot going on behind the scenes so I stay patient knowing what I do is organic and will bear its fruit. Trusting the process. How would you describe your songwriting approach in “Papers & Pens” and “The Comeup”? What was the specific theme in both these songs? Papers & Pens is a compilation of written verses that I wrote over the past years and didn't use any of my songs. So I decided to release them as Acapellas. For The Come Up, I didn't want to do a long project. I wanted to do a short soundtrack of the moment stating my vision and how I plan to ascend. The songwriting came easy and was mostly done freestyling. Which song have you released so far do you feel best represents who you are as an artist and explain why? “Mission” would be the one. Simply because the song is about being focused, low key, positive and wise. Are there any specific arrangements you prefer for your music to have? I'm still early on developing my sound but I will always be in my right element if the production provides some Boom Bap or G Funk. What’s next for you in 2020 Laidback Gemini? The world chico, and everything in it. twitter.com/laidbackgemini instagram.com/laidbackgemini facebook.com/LaidbackGemini #BuzzMusic
