  • Ryan Nealon is Back With Another Single This Year, “Sleepwalking” ft. Kylie Rothfield

Ryan Nealon is a young up and coming artist making his name known out of Los Angeles, California! As an unsigned artist, Nealon has over 100,000 streams, plays, and views combined! His most recent singles “Closer” and “City” has garnered nothing but absolute success for the gifted artist Ryan Nealon. Ryan’s new release “Sleepwalking” feat. Kylie Rothfield is an impressive track and a change in pace for the young, bright artist. Not the first time we’ve seen Ryan Nealon do a collaboration, but Kylie Rothfield’s vocals math perfectly well with Ryan’s on “Sleepwalking”. The set-up has that ambient pop-rock warmth, and the vocal has character, but this long-form melody, these lyrics, and the way the concept develops, all genuinely leans in enough of a new direction to give the whole thing a refreshing edge.“Sleepwalking” a great song, smooth vocals help add a real hint of soul, then just occasionally a moment of pop creeps in from the distance, but all in all, you can feel the live element. The voice in particular sounds upfront and honest laid bare and lost in the performance. There’s even a touch of something a little jazz-like during the instrumental breakaway. “Sleepwalking” features great songwriting, a pleasure to listen through and a breath of fresh air right now in the music scene! Listen to “Sleepwalking” ft. Kylie Rothfield here and read more with Ryan Nealon below! Welcome back, Ryan Nealon! It’s such a pleasure to be featuring your new single “Sleepwalking” with Kylie Rothfield. How did this collaboration come about? Hi! Thanks so much for having me. I had a blast making this song and performing it with Kylie. Basically, I wrote this track in a cabin a year ago, and knew immediately that I wanted it to be a duet, and Kylie is one hell of a singer and an artist so I knew I wanted it to be featuring her. Outside of music, Kylie’s also my best friend, so it was super cool getting to work on this song with her—she also co-produced the track! How long have you been making music Ryan, and what’s one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned as an artist in recent years? I’ve been making music honestly since I can remember. My music career technically started when 5-year old Ryan sang Dixie Chicks songs to my grandma and the other old folks in the Alzheimer’s Facility she was staying at, but officially speaking I’ve been releasing and performing my music since 2013. The biggest lesson I’ve learned thus far would definitely be patience. As an artist, we tend to want things yesterday, and I had so many dark periods in my life where I felt like other people were holding me back and I wasn’t able to rise as fast as I had hoped. This definitely put a fire under my ass though and made me push even harder, so I guess to sum it up, be patient and when you fall down just keep getting back up, and grow from your mistakes. Tell us what “Sleepwalking” means to you? How did the overall creation/recording process for this particular song go? "Sleepwalking" is about pursuing someone who isn't good for you, but you want to pursue them anyway. This song is inspired by a relationship I had in the past--we would never give enough effort, but we would give JUST enough to not want to leave. It was almost like the relationship was a black hole that kept pulling us in, and we felt like we couldn't escape. Ultimately, I wanted to write something that portrayed the dark side of dating, especially when you fall in love with someone knowing how toxic you both are for each other. The making of this release took a village and was definitely a group effort. This track was written by myself and Bret Paddock, and was produced by Kylie, and multi-award winning producer Zack Djurich (Kanye West, NAS, Teyana Taylor). Zack also mixed/mastered the track at his studio in North Hollywood, CA. What would you say is the most useful piece of criticism you’ve received thus far within your career? Do you typically take criticism to your advantage? I think the best piece of criticism I got was to not take myself so seriously. I was losing a lot of the joy I got while creating music because I was so scared and worried about the logistics behind each release. How much press the song will get, how many streams, etc., and although I still definitely focus on that, I’m able to see through both the business and the fun perspective. I absolutely take all the criticism I can get. You’re never too old or too experienced to stop learning and growing. Thank you so much for chatting with us once again! We know that your music is known for rooting itself in innovation and a sense of modernity. Where do you search for and/or end up finding your inspiration for such contemporary stylings? I find myself listening to a lot of experimental music. Some of my favorite artists at the moment are Bon Iver, Lianne La Havas, and Emily King, and although this single is definitely rooted in an alternative/pop genre, I take a lot of inspiration from these artists. They demonstrate how you can be classified as one thing, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t branch out and take from other styles. I also listen to a lot of orchestral music, and one of my favorite composers is Joe Hisaishi. Hisaishi’s compositions have really helped me think outside the box when it comes to my music, and it goes to show that although I’m making “pop” music, I still want to make something artistic and something with depth. • Natik is back with a brand new single! “Famous” Ft. Nemesis Andrew

Natik is an urban/pop artist originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but just recently moved to Nashville, TN to pursue his dreams of being a pop music icon. A multi-talented musical powerhouse, Natik produces, writes lyrics, and sings on every one of his songs to date. Natik’s blend of crisp harmonies and smoky, smooth verses carry his listeners on a trip through his stories. Natik was introduced to music at 6 years old with classical piano. He began his solo career in his sophomore year of high school under his actual name, Nathan Kim. Through his new moniker, Natik’s music began to shift towards a pop style with an electric undertone, incorporating elements of funk and jazz that he grew up around. Teaming up with hip-hop and rap artist Nemesis Andrew, the two collaborated to drop “Famous”. Nemesis Andrew is originally from the Washington, D.C area, but recently moved out to the heart of Nashville to further expand his musical endeavors. As a talented rap artist, he prides himself on his lyrical ability to tell a story and that has never been more evident than within “Famous”. Natik’s vocals, as always, have a really attractive tone to them, to the point where it’s genuinely disappointing when the track comes to an end. Together, Natik and Nemesis Andrew’s melodies are consistently interesting and, behind the satisfying and contemporary production chops, is a very traditional arrangement of verses, hooks, and a more broken-down bridge section. There are also plenty of little vocal ad-libs, sometimes cut up and repeated for maximum catchiness. “Famous” hits so many sweet spots during its run time, it’s genuinely difficult not to keep hitting repeat as a reviewer. This makes me think real attention has been paid to the arrangement, there’s never a dull moment. From Natik’s smooth vocals to Nemesis Andrew’s hip-hop verse and right up to the end, new colors are used to draw us in sonically. Check out “Famous” here and read more in our exclusive interview below! Welcome back to BuzzMusic Natik! You give off a really confident aura through your music! Is this a skill you've developed over time or has it come naturally to you? Happy to be here! It certainly feels like it comes naturally, however, I don’t believe that anyone is born with it. I definitely have my friends and family to blame since they’ve been so supportive of me throughout the years. Growing up (and even now), I’ve had a strong community that nurtured my confidence and talent. This is definitely the foundation of why I project confidence through my music. But at the moment, it’s easy to be confident when you’re believing what you’re saying. Being true to yourself and others is the key to having a confident aura in all facets of life. “Famous” hit us to our very core with your vocal performance. Do you find it comes effortlessly to fill your voice with such passion? It takes a lot of focus and tedious polishing for me to get the take that I want. That being said, each take is honest. To sing what’s on my mind, I have to be in touch with my emotions and what I want my listeners to feel. Over time, I’ve learned to do this naturally. It’s not really something I think about since I’m focusing on so many elements of my vocal performance. Do you feel that your music is an accurate depiction of your life? Do you feel ultimately connected to your listeners through your music? My music certainly reflects aspects of my life. Stories, experiences, phases, etc. These are all topics that I like to cover and share with my audience so they can understand who I am, relate to my experience, and connect to my words. With my production, vocals, lyrics, and instrumentation, I like to create a cohesive project that more importantly reflects my personality. I’m a huge believer in the importance of kindness and how that affects the people around us. I try to practice this kind of character every day in my life, because making others happy feels pretty damn good. I like to create fun songs that make people move and want to sing along. My lyrics are meant to inspire action, but the music itself is meant to inspire emotion. As far as I know, I've inspired both of those things in my listeners and I couldn't feel more connected with them. How did the collaboration with Nemesis Andrew come about!? Nemesis Andrew and I met on the first day of college at Belmont University and have been close friends throughout the years. The first night we hung out I quickly learned how talented he was. Somewhere throughout the night, I proposed we have a rap battle. Let’s just say I lost. I was astounded by his ability to freestyle. If you ever see him, ask him to do it for you and he’ll blow your mind. Ever since we’ve made plenty of music together, but wanted to wait for the right one to debut our collaboration together. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? Thanks for having me! I’ve got a project in the works that should be coming in the next couple of months. It’ll include “Famous” and the last single “F.Y.L.T.”. In addition to that, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some amazing and talented artists/writers in Nashville. I’m very excited to be a part of some wonderful projects that you’ll be able to hear soon :) www.instagram.com/natikmusic www.facebook.com/musicnatik www.twitter.com/Natikkmusic #BuzzMusic

  • Singer/Songwriter Somogyi tells all about her new song "Got No Doubt"

Hey Somogyi! It's such a pleasure to have you here! "Got No Doubt" is definitively passionate, with such an eclectic, yet modern take on production. How did you intend to connect with your listeners with this particular track?! Tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics within the song! Well, thank you! I’m honored you dig it! “Got No Doubt” is definitely one of my favorite songs I’ve released so far. I’m glad to hear you appreciate the production and sound because it was a little home-studio endeavor with a friend of mine, so thank you! The song “Got No Doubt” actually became my first little “hit” you could say, at least here in my local music scene for a little artist like myself. The song connected with a lot of listeners, and it was actually my first song to ever get actual radio airplay! I remember feeling like a rockstar at the time, haha, but the listeners seemed to really connect with the song and the lyrics. I think people were drawn to it so much because it was something different, and fresh at the time, something people had never really heard before. I was pretty humbled by how well it was received! When it comes to the meaning behind the lyrics of the song, well it’s about love, what else would it be about right? I actually wrote the song and lyrics after being inspired by a guy I had just met, who I had only hung out with a couple of times. I often write songs about romantic feelings, because those feelings just bring out good songs I guess. We knew we liked each other, but my feelings at the time were strong enough to find the inspiration for “Got No Doubt”. The lyrics talk about how I had “no doubt in my mind, I want to give you all my time”, referring to him, but it also says, “I know we just met, and this could be hasty,” so it’s a song about taking a chance on love I guess you could say. Really though, it’s about the people or passions and desires in life that we want to pursue and dedicate our time to, those things that get us excited when we wake up in the morning. “Got No Doubt” was about love for me, but it can apply to dreams, goals, or aspirations really. It’s just a song about falling fast in love, taking a chance and just going for it; about laying it all on the line and not being afraid to be vulnerable. What would you say is the most useful piece of criticism you’ve received thus far within your career? Do you typically take criticism to your advantage? I love criticism. It’s how we get better, how we improve. I would be lost without it. The most useful piece of criticism I’ve ever received, to this day, is a comment from a local radio host who I admire and respect dearly. The critique was simply this: “You just need to be weird; get a little weirder”, it was something along those lines. The reason this piece of criticism is one I hold so dear to my heart is that it helped shape my perspective on how to really connect with fans. I realized that I needed to just be myself actually, which sounds cliché I know. It’s not though, really. It’s because I am actually weird, so I took his advice as him really saying to “be me” when he said to “be weird". Also, at that time in my musical journey, I think I definitely got sucked into the pressure of needing to have a certain image as an artist, some image I thought was expected of me as a female in the music industry. For instance, I hate wearing makeup or tight clothing, but I did when I played shows, and I put on my “serious musician face” for pictures, or I guess my attempt at a sexy but also, “I’m a serious musician” face. Needless to say, his advice helped me to scrap that approach and just be my weirdo self in all its weirdo glory, which involved smiling more and talking about my thoughts about the world more, and this crazy thing called life. It involved not trying so hard to impress anyone. I think I still have improvements to make in that regard, because I’m still fearful sometimes of really sharing all of my weird, crazy thoughts, and branding them into a part of my image as an artist, but I’m working on it. Do you believe living in North Texas benefits your artistry? Why or why not? I definitely believe living in North Texas benefits my artistry! In fact, probably the biggest local news source here in Dallas, called Dallas Observer, just released a huge story today about a local radio station, KXT Radio, because it’s their 10th anniversary this month. Anyways, the piece is all about the North Texas music scene, and how it’s booming right now, and it’s filled with commentary from uprising artists out of North Texas talking about how KXT radio and North Texas have been the platform to the liftoff of their careers. I’m one of many local artists to get radio airplay on their station. They’re a big deal in North Texas, so I get excited about it, but yes, the North Texas music scene is thriving and there’s tons of opportunity to climb the ladder of the music industry even here in little old Dallas-Fort Worth. This area isn’t typically an area that first comes to mind when people think of music towns; places where musicians run off to for their big break, like LA, Nashville, Austin, etc. Nonetheless, “little d” and “big D” (Denton and Dallas respectively) and Fort Worth are starting to make waves in the national music scene and I’m excited to be a part of it! You have an impressive musical repertoire! We really loved listening to "Hopeless Romantic" as a whole. What was the overall concept of this release? How long was this project in the making? Wow! I’m super humbled you guys enjoyed the whole EP! The EP was never my endeavor when it all started actually. It started when I met someone at an open mic, now long-time friend, who heard me perform and was impressed. After my set, he came up to me and introduced himself, and asked me if I wanted to record some of my tunes. I was open to making waves any way I could, so I jumped at the opportunity! Originally we set out just to record one song, which became the song “T.MI.” on the EP. Eventually, we that turned into two more tracks over the next few months, from October 2015 to March 2016, and those two songs were “Magic Voodoo” and “Wait For You”. Then starting back up in April of 2016 until July of 2016, we finished up the rest of the EP after I came to him with a few more songs I had written. I told him how I wanted to record the other songs I had, and then put them all together into an EP, and thus was born my debut EP, Hopeless Romantic. The title track “Hopeless Romantic” was the last and final song written and recorded for the EP, and was the inspiration behind the overall concept for the whole EP itself. The lyrics of the song “Hopeless Romantic” talk about how I fall in love too easily, or too quickly and how that was a fault of mine. If you listen to the lyrics it says “I know don’t need anybody, but I know something must be wrong with me”, and then later into the chorus saying “I just wanna be yours forever,” almost jokingly, but seriously at the same time. The whole EP I’ve always said is a jab at my own faults and how much of a “Hopeless Romantic” I am, but at the end of the song it reveals how I’m actually accepting of that fact, and how I embrace that fact as a part of what makes me who I am. The end of the song says, “I’m hopeless romantic...and I’m living for love and that’s it. I’m not afraid to admit, that I’m living for love and that’s it”. It’s a brave take on roasting your own faults, but also embracing them. As a whole, the EP Hopeless Romantic is a story about naivety, love, vulnerability, and being accepting of the human side of us that makes us feel things, have desires and want love in our lives. It was a treat being able to showcase “Got No Doubt” on BuzzMusic! We can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us as listeners! What’s the next goal for you artistically within the music world? Well, I released another little EP last December, called Sideways Dreams, but my goal at the time was to record a full-length album which turned out to be a rather ambitious endeavor for me at the time, so it became little, 4 song EP. So, I guess my next goal would be to build my name up a little more and maybe get the means to record a debut LP and do it right! I have so many ideas, and I just want a chance to record them! Ultimately I’d love to have a career putting out records and touring. Even if I don’t make it big, I don’t really need that, I just want to have a career doing what I love, which is writing and performing music! I really appreciate getting to talk to you guys a bit about my story and I hope that your platform can become a part of the bigger story of my musical journey down the line; and maybe someday I can look back and say ‘man I’m so glad I got to interview with Buzzfeed, because my career really took off soon after that’, or something like that. I see every opportunity that comes my way as a little piece of a bigger story, a story that is my life, and because I’m a dreamer full of ambition, I just know that story is going to have a really good ending somehow, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds! • Don’t Miss “Can't Finesse Me” by Rif Raf The Great ft J. Dange

Long Beach, California is home to J. Dange, an up and coming rap artist and gifted lyricist that you need to know about. He challenges the limits of creativity in order to speak his truth through music and pours his soul into every release. Most recently, J. Dange collaborated with Rif Raf to drop “Can’t Finesse Me”. J. Dange drives with a smooth sound and a conceptually self-aware writing style on this latest release. Both J. Dange and Rif Raf deliver with confidence and determination, adding in pace and grit but never so much so that it takes away from the fluidity of the music. In terms of character and being memorable, recognizable, the hook throughout “Can’t Finesse Me” definitely is. The upbeat flow and flawless, witty bars make “Can’t Finesse Me” unparalleled in today’s hip-hop scene. Getting a message across, effortlessly reciting perfect lyrics, and finding/creating beats to match is J. Dange’s specialty. I think that these guys are incredibly talented and skilled at connecting with fans. They write lyrics that speak to the listeners and music for anyone to vibe to. No stranger to success, this single “Can’t Finesse Me” is yet another big step in the right direction for J.Dange and Rif Raf. Listen to “Can’t Finesse Me” here and read more with J.Dange below! Welcome to BuzzMusic J.Dange! How did your collaboration with Rif Raf come to fruition? Can we expect to see more of you two together in the future? My brother-in-law was working on his project and wanted me to feature on a song with him. He recorded it at Rif-Raf’s studio which was the first time he heard me.  He wanted me to jump on a song after that for his upcoming project “Get Like Me.. Vol. 3”. So I did a collab with another artist Zoe Kidd out of Florida called “Drip” and it came out the fire! So Rif-Raf said he had another song he wanted me to hop on and that is what you are hearing in “Can’t Finesse Me”. So yes, more is to come with myself and Rif-Raf and you all will love it! You delivered powerful lyrics in “Can’t Finesse Me”, can you tell us about the inspiration behind your words? I’ve never wanted to be a follower or mediocre. Everyone is going after the “bag” but the bag is short term money, I’m trying to have wealth that will take care of my family for generations! I’m going to be the catalyst for my family’s success.  I was given a talent that I hid for a while, now I’m going all out in my own lane no matter what anyone says. I’m here to take over and show the right way to do things and the right message to deliver. I lost everything and was homeless, I never want to be there again so I grind with everything in me and know that God will get me to where I need to be! Hard work and talent together are unstoppable! Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your new song “Can’t Finesse Me”? My grandmother has had the biggest influence on my life in every aspect of myself. She has been the rock of my family and has worked hard her entire life, never giving up for anything! She beat an amazing amount of challenges and she raised me since I was an infant because my parents were never there. So when I wrote this song, all I could think about was making it beyond my wildest dreams and making sure my grandmother is shown the appreciation for her sacrifice and make sure my family is good! Also, show people that you can defeat the struggle as long as you believe it and work hard towards it. Don’t stop for anything! What are some of your ultimate goals as an artist? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? My ultimate goal is to let the world hear another perspective from a person that lived through some of the toughest challenges a person could face.  I never joined a gang or sell drugs or been to jail and to me that’s harder than taking the easy way out doing all of those things.  I respect everyone and people have to make their own choices but not following the crowd is a tough thing. Showing kids and people that it’s possible will be my ultimate I’m here moment. I want to impact the lives of the world and let them know through my songs that they are not alone. I just released my first solo EP “ALPHA: The Beginning...” across all digital outlets and I’m just trying to market and promote it. You can check it out and see exactly what I’m about. Also, I’m in the studio dang near everyday working on new music for the follow-up and trust me, it’s all fire!! It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this song release? Any shows in the near future?! It was an honor and a pleasure to be here! Hey Tie Bond! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What inspired you to first begin making music and releasing it to the public? Well growing up, listening to my favorite bands/rappers & seeing them perform live, sparked it in me to want to pursue music & perform around the world. You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “Palm Trees”? I appreciate that, thank you! When writing palm trees it went really smooth honestly. I had visioned a very luxury living lifestyle that I and maybe others, the dream of having & I put it into a song. Mixed along with my journey & how I have made the sacrifices to get to this point in my career. Since you’ve been making music for several years, how would you compare some of the earlier material you’ve written to your newest release “Palm Trees”? I would say my earlier music just wasn’t as good of quality as Palm Trees is. My writing & structure of how to put a song together has improved as well. I recorded my earlier songs in my basement mix & mastering them myself for 5+ years learning as I go. “Palm Trees” was the first in-studio song I recorded & felt it was time to give my music the quality it deserved. What was it like working with Chris Cordova for the music video? What was the overall concept for the visuals? I love working with Chris! It wasn’t my first time & definitely not the last. The energy, vibes, creativity, it was fun & all smiles, all day. It’s what you want on to set many memories were made & can’t wait to create more! Now, the overall concept for the visuals of Palm Trees was to match what I was saying in the song. And with the beautiful location we filmed at - “Picasso Of Malibu” I think we did just that! We really appreciate you chatting with us about your incredible music! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? Thank you for giving me this platform to share my music on! What’s next is another new single dropping this month & many more to follow! And my debut album in 2020. Music is what I have been focusing my creative energy on, but I want to create clothing, accessories, to act in movies or TV shows & venture into different businesses. Again, thank you for allowing me to share my music on here! If you want to follow me to stay updated on my music, Instagram is the best place to do so! Keep up with the latest on Tie Bond via his Instagram! #BuzzMusic

  • Lhasa Brings the Energy and Power With Their Indie-Folk Project “Birdsong EP”

New Zealand-based indie-folk duo Lhasa present audiences with a gorgeously warming performance with their recent “Birdsong EP”. The title track “Birdsong” is a song that feels like a long-lost classic. It’s a really well written, poetic and reflective piece, that has been performed here to a flawless level and in a manner that expresses the underlying sentiments of the song in a beautiful way. Samuel and Micaela met at music school and began writing songs together in 2017. They have a certain interconnectedness when they perform, you can hear how smoothly everything moves along together, rising in intensity and passion gradually before settling back down. “Birdsong” feels like waves moving up and down at the shore. Everything from the acoustic guitar strum to the leading voice feels like an irreplaceable and crucial part of the process. The lyrics and the rising melody really carry you with them as they emerge. The song becomes this go-to moment of reflective thinking, getting you involved during those verses, then resolving just perfectly at the hook to leave you lost in the music in a mighty way. This live performance has been incredibly well captured by Lhasa. Definitely worth checking up the “Birdsong EP” in full! Listen to “Birdsong” here and read more with the duo of Lhasa in our interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Lhasa! How many releases have you done as a duo? How did this collaboration come to fruition? The Birdsong EP is our first release as a duo, so just one so far but we plan on releasing more in the near future. We first met at music school in 2016 when Samuel had just moved to New Zealand from China and started collaborating and writing together about a year after that. "Birdsong" was actually the first song we ended up writing together and the rest of the EP just flowed quite easily after that. It's hard to explain when things just fall into place, but it just feels right that we're doing music together and we think that shows in our songs too. What was the overall concept of “Birdsong EP”? Do you believe that the way you intend to communicate your messages through your music is easily received by your listeners? The EP doesn't have a specific concept behind it, but it's birthed out of the idea that we both want to create music that means something to us (and hopefully to other people too). Music is something that has affected our lives immensely and we would love to try and give that impact back to people who listen to us. Because of this, we hope that people really connect with the things we sing about and the emotions behind them. “Birdsong" is surging with articulate emotions. What kind of feelings did you want listeners to be washed over with when listening to the song? We really love that multiple people can hear the same song and pick out completely different emotions from it. For us, the song really speaks of hope. We've heard from some fans that it makes them feel joyful, and for some, they pick out a longing feeling. It's really down to the individual and where they're at. How would you say your music now compares to the music you curated when you first started out in the music industry? Over time we have both grown in our songwriting, which is only natural. The more you work at your craft, the better it gets. We look back at certain songs we both individually wrote a few years back and some of them feel quite disjointed and underdeveloped. The music we create also seems to evolve and grow with us as people, and so as we get older, our music matures with us. The music that we both write individually is also very different from our Lhasa sound, which we think is quite cool. Lhasa is really the combination of us as people and turns it into something audible. Thanks for coming on BuzzMusic to talk about “Birdsong" and yourselves as artists! What's the next big thing for you artistically? We're currently planning a tour for January 2020 and we're also in the process of writing more music. We'll start recording that pretty soon and hope to release something next year. Thanks for having us! Discover more on Lhasa & their music via their social media: Facebook Instagram #BuzzMusic

Dallas String Quartet is an international music sensation. Founded in 2007 by award-winning violist Ion Zanca, the contemporary classical-pop quartet is known for its refreshing versions of Guns N’ Roses “Sweet Child of Mine” and Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita”. On November 8, the group will release their much anticipated Christmas album, “A Very Merry Christmas with Dallas String Quartet”. “My Favorite Things.” serves as the first release from the upcoming album! “The opening measures of the song lay down a sonic chamber rock-like vibe, creating a spacious atmosphere into which violins flutter in a fanciful flight of desire. Zanca’s viola provides the thematic undercurrent around which Dunbar’s and Priller’s violins float. Piano chords play call and response with the violins, and about two-minutes into the song, Plant’s guitar winds around the flittering violins.” -Dallas String Quartet Dallas String Quartet consistently showcases a clear and genuine love for music – this is something that can’t be faked, and it lets their music reach out so much further than the average musician. While their aim is to grow their audience, Dallas String Quartet’s first and foremost intention is to capture a moment in time, a powerful and captivating performance, a delivery that means something, and that is genuinely new and exciting. Dallas String Quartet’s new release “My Favorite Things” quite flawlessly encapsulates a certain emotive aura. You can lose yourself in the beauty of the sound, and you can easily appreciate the level of ability and dedication at the heart of the work. I expect to see large growth in Dallas String Quartet’s fan base in the coming months and years. Their hard work and talent fuse perfectly with authenticity and an inherent love for the art-form. “My Favorite Things” is absolutely worth experiencing, and we’re looking forward to hearing what else comes through in the near future! Listen to Dallas String Quartet’s rendition of “My Favorite Things” here and read more in our interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic, Dallas String Quartet! Such a pleasure to have you here! What was your motivation behind starting Dallas String Quartet in 2007? Ion Zanca: We had multiple reasons but at the core of it was the desire to disrupt the classical style and genre that had been done the same way for hundreds of years. We noticed there are six members, but you’re a quartet. Can you explain? Ion: Yes! We started originally with the traditional 4 members. But our music and shows were expanding and we felt we needed additional instruments to make songs more impactful. It’s very hard to play ‘Kashmir’ by Led Zeppelin without drums! Who are the members? Ion Zanca: composer and violist Eleanor Dunbar and Melissa Priller: violinists Young Heo: bassist Anthony Plant: guitarist Efren Guzman: percussionist/drummer What are the predominant changes you’ve noticed within your music from when DSQ first started creating, to your most recent release of “My Favorite Things”? Ion: When we started out, we tried really hard to create the sounds we were imagining with just the quartet (four members) - but many times because of the limitations, the music suffered. On this single, we changed our mindset. We wanted to serve the music first rather than the formation of the group. So, we recorded the strings and then we said, “what else would help this song sound better?” The warmth of the piano was a no brainer. So, in addition to the strings, guitar, and drums, we invited guest jazz pianist, Segio Pamies, to collaborate with us. What would you say is the most useful piece of criticism you’ve received thus far within your career? Do you typically take criticism to your advantage? Ion: The most useful piece of criticism was playing more original music and finding our voice. The identity of the group was originally formed on covers with a classical twist so playing original music was something we struggled with. But we soon realized this would be the natural evolution of the group. We’re very excited to announce that this year we submitted our first original piece, ‘Drops of Jewels,’ to the Grammys for Best Instrumental Composition! You have an impressive list of accomplishments! What has been your most memorable achievement thus far in your career? Ion: We played for presidents, NFL, NBA but the most memorable was our first concert with a symphony orchestra.  It was amazing to be able to record a live album with a full symphony orchestra. The final product was a collaboration with 60 other incredible musicians and it was beautiful in ways that we never thought possible. It was a treat being able to showcase “My Favorite Things” on BuzzMusic! We can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us as listeners. What can your fans expect from your upcoming album,  “A Very Merry Christmas with Dallas String Quartet”? Ion: This album is very special to us and every arrangement has a unique take to it. We have been planning the material for the last 7 years! So we tried to make it as big as possible. We have over 12 guest artists collaborating on this album, many of whom have received multiple Grammys. “A Very Merry Christmas with Dallas String Quartet” is filled with warmth and love. When we recorded it, we imagined people celebrating the holidays with families and friends sitting around the fireplace sipping eggnog. We put a lot of thought into designing the cover and images and making sure we portrayed this feeling. We hope people enjoy it and associate it with beautiful memories of family and friends celebrating together! • Pop-Country Collective On The Outside Release New Music Video For Hit Single “Like Yeah”

On The Outside, or OTO, is a 5-piece pop-country boy band. The guys have an authentic and new sound, unlike anything we’ve heard before! On The Outside ’s latest release “Like Yeah” feels like far more of a pop hit than anything purely country, only because there’s a notably accessible and quickly engaging, memorable aura to this song, making it an easy one to relate to and enjoy. “Like Yeah” showcases the 5 members’ strong vocals, the long-form melody, and the hook line and title to match help let the concept really sink in. At the same time, they highlight the smoothness and subtle character of their voices collectively, ultimately offering something that’s easy to recognize after hearing it just once. Instrumentally “Like Yeah” is a colorful, multi-layered release from On The Outside, furthering that accessible nature. The verses have a classic and comforting familiarity to the way they develop, and the soundscape complements the melodic progression and the vocals really well at every step. The pace throughout “Like Yeah” quickens for the chorus, poetic language and optimism pour through, as well as an inherent sense of togetherness that helps give the song a strong appeal for those seeking out an alternative or new song to share with the one they love. Hard work, consistency, and a passion for the art-form always pay off in the end, On The Outside is undoubtedly a group with a deep connection to that process. Absolutely worth a listen! Check out “Like Yeah” here and read more with On The Outside below! Hey there On The Outside! Welcome to BuzzMusic! We're incredibly excited to be featuring your newest single "Like Yeah"! Tell us about the recording process, and how the overall creative process was for this song? We thank you guys so much for featuring our newest single, “Like Yeah”. We recorded this song back in December of 2018. The recording process was like no other. With us, the creating/recording process happens so fast. As a unit, we’ve developed a system. We have learned each other’s voices and we now know who sounds the best on what parts and it all just flows as it should. “Like Yeah” is an uptempo, feel-good song and we’re so happy we get to share the feeling it’s given us for so long, with our fans and new listeners! How do you think "Like Yeah" compares to your earlier releases? How do you think your overall sound has progressed since your debut? “Like Yeah” conjoins with our earlier release “How Did You Know” in the sense that it has a country feel to it, while still embodying a Pop feel, and we love that! This single brings a more light-hearted version of us. As a group, we are drawn to music that has substance, but we also like to dance around the room and just enjoy the moment, which is what “Like Yeah” brings to the table. Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your sound/progression as a group? As a group, Dan + Shay have inspired us a lot. Beautiful melodies, catchy hooks, and genuine, raw lyrics all wrapped up in one. Good music is good music, and genres are becoming more and more irrelevant to music fans. Pulling from all the genres we love, we have created a new lane and are the first ever pop-country boy band! We loved the music video for "Like Yeah”! What was the overall concept? What was the filming process like? “Like Yeah” is a song that’s truly about being overwhelmingly happy in a moment. You can hear that in the lyrics, and you’ll feel it in the production and vocals. It’s just fun, and sometimes that’s the kind of song people need to hear. The lyrics are reminiscent and reflect back on a sunny day with a girl that you’re so astonished by. Women bring a beautiful energy, and this is about celebrating how they make us feel. We cast 5 girls to be in the video and it shows us interacting with and getting to know them as we explore the beautiful town of Franklin, TN. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this video release? Any shows in the near future? We have a lot in the works right now! OTO is preparing to take off. We have an album of songs under our belts and it’s just a matter of when it’s the right time to release them. Our community of fans, called #Outsiders are amazing and we try to support them as much as they support us. As a band, we unanimously agree on one thing: We want our music to be the vehicle that let’s us be there for as many people as possible. OTO has a lot to say, and we’re just getting started. • New Music Friday: R0 Bradley Puts Emphasis On Passion In His New Music Video, “Lost Without You”

R0 Bradley is bringing a new wave of melodic pop that you won’t be able to resist. The 27-year-old multi-talented individual who was born in London, England, discovered his special love for electronic dance music and production after living in Hong Kong. Although his music can speak for itself, it’s undoubtedly evident that this rising star has quite an impressive track record of accolades. His first feature role was in the Philippines hosting the Hit TV show R'Walk & eventually starred in a traveling documentary at just the age of 19. He has not only created success for himself in the film industry but his second single titled “Take Me To Paradise” was the game-changer with a critically acclaimed music video that leads him to be invited and play two years in a row at the world-renowned Miss World Pageant. R0 Bradley has released his latest single titled “Lost Without You” which is his first solo track in which he completely sung, wrote, and produced every element and sound you hear in this atmospheric love piece. He released an incredible visual to match the quality of sound and we couldn’t keep our eyes off the screen! The video begins with a burning acoustic guitar which sets off a sense of romanticism before the melodic instrumental begins transitioning in. With gorgeous footage of multiple scenic locations, the entire aesthetic of this video is already setting the bar high! With more scenes of multiple burning guitars, I was able to create a connection between the video and the passionate and emotive lyricism. The song has this unique chemistry with sad vs happiness. Although the lyrics give off multiple themes of heartbreak, sorrow, and emptiness, in a way you’re able to feel a rejuvenating feeling of acceptance and growth. Nonetheless, the entire aura of this song represented a true form of artistic creation and the video further proved that R0 Bradley is a groundbreaking artist and creator who has a bright future that lies ahead of him. Listen to "Lost Without You" here and check out the brand new music video below! Welcome to BuzzMusic R0 Bradley! You’ve been a hard-working success so far in your career. What has been the most motivating aspect for you as an artist and why? Great to be here! I find the most motivation from being in the studio and creating day after day, whether its working on my own stuff or with other artists, having people around you that push you to keep going like the guys at Killa Kartel has been hugely motivating for me, I've always been a Producer and have recently stepped fully into the artist territory which is pretty nerve-racking for me, but knowing that you're part of something and making music that gets people excited and motivated to work on their own projects and tell their own stories really motivates me. We took a listen to your new single “Lost Without You” and this song was beautiful. What does this track mean to you? What inspired the purpose of this record and why? The track means a lot to me, not as an artist but as a writer and a person. Its entirely inspired by personal experiences. I've had a lot of loss in my life and sometimes I just can't get these lyrics out of my head and that's what happened with this one, I think it took me a year on and off to write. It's about losing the ones closest to you and I'm sure many people can relate to it, or I hope they can anyway because ultimately that is my purpose. Creating and releasing it was for me to get the way I felt off my chest, but I hope that it can help some people express themselves and know there are other people out there with similar experiences. Your music video was a beautiful visual that complemented the music highly well. Can you describe to us the production of this? Were there any specific shots or scenes you wanted to include and why? Thank you! The Production took around 6 months and we started filming in Wales, using the amazing mountain locations In the peak of winter, which you can see is beyond freezing! We generally managed to get all the shots we wanted but we actually climbed a fair amount of Mount Snowdon with a lot of people and equipment and ended up being caught up in a snowstorm so we didn't get one of the original locations we planned, however, we improvised and pulled off the shots, the whole thing was mapped out pretty well from the beginning but we were using locations hundreds of miles apart so it was a lot of work! We wanted to make the video pretty epic representing the journey of a lost man, physically and emotionally. I think it worked out well and turned into a great video! What was the most challenging aspect for you as an artist when creating “Lost Without You”? That's a tough question, as an artist I think the hardest thing is believing in something you make, there's so much other good music out there and I can't imagine everyone likes the sound of their own voice! I am a Producer at heart and this song was my first solo exploit producing, mixing, singing and writing the track myself so I found it hard to keep telling myself it's any good, you have to listen to the people around you and believe, and remember why you're doing this in the first place, and in my case for this song it was to tell a story. There’s no doubt that you are on to do bigger and better things! What can our readers expect from R0 Bradley in the upcoming year of 2020? I'm doing a lot of production for other artists which I'm super excited about, in all kinds of genres which has booked me up, which I'm of course really happy about, I'm producing full time now which was a huge milestone for me, I've opened up a little studio in the UK and It's great to work for myself and be able to be closer to my friends and family. If we're talking about 2020 I would like to say that's finally the year I put out my debut album, I've been working on it for years but I really want to make sure its the best it can be and I'm in no rush for that, as an artist you are ready when you are ready. I would like to work on bigger projects and do more writing and focus a bit more in getting back into TV and Film, as I love acting, as you can see from my videos. I'm super busy but I'm taking some time off to travel and live shows to focus on other aspects of my life, I won't stop creating and I'm sure there will be another single in early 2020! • A look inside The Sayco Files New EP "Onward & Beyond"

Welcome to BuzzMusic! Your music is so unique and authentic. How would you describe your approach to music and your artistry? I see music and sound in general as a dimension that people can tap into for better or worse. Some use it to elevate people, most use it to brainwash them. Most of my music is dramatic like scenes in a movie. I just want to make people feel all kinds of things. I hate that the norm is to feel numb. We really enjoyed your EP "Onward & Beyond"! What was the overall concept of this project? What do you hope that listeners take away from it? My whole life I’ve always been the kind of person to be able to feel everyone's pain around me as if it were my own. It’s like everybody is a piece of some grander puzzle. I just wanted to express some of the stories of people I know and ones of mine that are special to me. What have been the main changes you’ve noticed in the music industry within the time you’ve been making music? Everything is always changing and always will be. I’ve been making music since I was 16 but didn’t really see it’s true potential of changing the world until I was older. I think a lot of people forget this and that’s why a lot of solo artists saturate the mainstream. Bands are a dying thing of the past although I wish they weren’t because I think the mere act of people coming together shows the world that there's still hope left for humanity. Do you think moving around during your childhood influenced your artistry? Why or Why not? Everything influences everything. It’s all connected. I’ve never really truly had one place to call home. I think that’s something to look into. You've impressively released a lot of original music this year! What keeps you on track to write so consistently? I just feel like I’ve wasted so much of my younger life getting fucked up and not caring about the world that now that I’m older and more aware of what’s going on in it makes me want to change everything. Thank you so much for chatting with us! We're really excited to follow your future musical endeavors. Can you shed some light on what might be next for you artistically? I have no expectations for the future because it’s always changing. All I know is that I am tired of doing solo music and will put my energy into forming a band. Listen to The Sayco Files here. #BuzzMusic
