- Check Out The Genre-Bending Stylings Of “French Toa$t” By Keyz Vango & The Beetstreet Groove"
Born in Montgomery, Alabama, up and coming R&B/Alternative Hip-Pop recording artist Keyz Vango moved to New York State with his family. Now based in Bushwick, Brooklyn, Keyz Vango learned to play the trumpet and classical piano by his early teens. With his father being a pastor, there were some genres of music that Keyz Vango was unable to listen to, but through trials and tribulations, he found himself secretly making beats and honing his craft in his bedroom. Inspired by a wide range of artists spanning from Kanye West to Nirvana, Keyz Vengo brings a unique new wave sound to the music industry today. “My goal is to continue to break molds through music, culturally and hopefully socially, as well as breakthrough my own barriers and fears” - Keyz Vango Featuring a smooth beat and a softly soulful delivery, “French Toa$t” is a track with a mildly Caribbean-like flavor and bounce to it. A light and summer-time-suited riff contrast with a heavy yet slow-paced bass-line, and meanwhile a series of alternating, dynamic-building vocal parts help hold tight to your interest. The lyrics within “French Toa$t” focus on the frustrations of a one-sided relationship, where the person being pursued only offers what’s on the surface but demands everything in return. The recent sounds of artists like Post Malone make for a welcoming arena for this type of track. The professionalism and even the subtle confidence all work brilliantly here to craft something that easily fits within the current climate for the genre. As he continues to develop his sound and his voice, it’s likely we’ll be hearing plenty more from Keyz Vango. Listen to “French Toa$t” here Hey Keyz Vango! How has the music world been treating you so far throughout 2019? 2019 has been full of highs so far! I dropped my debut EP "LATE, Vol. 1" at the end of 2018 and spent most of 2019 vibing with that project and building the "LATE," foundation with fans. Still riding the high of getting to perform for Afropunk Battle of the Bands (Brooklyn) which I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to elevate my live show presence. That was an incredible night and a long time personal dream come true. Gearing up for a strong 4th quarter and an even bigger 2020 with a lot of dope new singles on the way! We immediately found that “French Toa$t” captured an alluring melody with so many different elements! It's what caught, and ultimately kept our attention! What was the overall mood you wanted to set for listeners in this particular track? We wanted to keep an open mind from start to finish and not bound ourselves to "rules" and keep it sort of Jazz in that sense, hence the random blend of Sax and Dembow vibes. How did the songwriting and recording process execute for “French Toa$t”? Did you fall into any creative slumps while initially writing the track, or does the curation process flow naturally for you? The beautiful thing about "French Toa$t" is that the record completely came together by accident sort of. I and the homie Beetstreet Groove randomly linked up in the studio for the first time and built the entire record on the spot with the help of our mutual talented friend/guitarist Juan Arrango. One moment we were on the rooftop of the studio for a smoke, talking about French Toast, and the next we were locked into an intense writing session. It all came together so quick until at some point we were like "yo we gotta save this session, what's the song title?" We ended up calling it "French Toast" because we didn't wanna take up too much time overthinking and losing the "magic" in the room. Again, we wanted to keep the vibe relatively open and allow the Jazz to live, which is a concept we stayed true to all the way to the end of finalizing the song title for release. Tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics within your new release “French Toa$t”! At the core of the subject matter, the song really explores the situation of helplessly falling for someone who only gives what's on the surface but demands everything in return. Like the ultimate tease with no promise. Thank you so much for chatting with us! Tell our readers more about your definitive aspirations as an artist! What would you say is the ultimate goal, artistic wise? Although I'm 2000% a New Yorker, I was originally being born in Montgomery Alabama before moving at age 6. There's a lot of history there, we all know that history. So for me making music serves as an outlet of self-expression as well as breaking free of some of those old historical chains creatively & spiritually. My goal is to break molds through music, culturally and hopefully socially, as well as breakthrough my own barriers and fears. www.keyzvango.com #BuzzMusic
- Fire The Bellboy Pushes Boundaries With "Polyglot"
The new single entitled "Polyglot" from Maryland based alt pop-rock band Fire The Bellboy is strangely addictive in its own right. The song is one of 3 new songs released on their The One Who Started It EP. It's progressive pop-punk bathed in alternative rock and sonically enormous. You hear familiar sounds and tons of fun time signatures, a powerful chorus, and an embracive backbone. Even with all of its unique qualities, it's still pop. It still gets you wanting to hear more. So job well done on that note. Other songs like "Candy Bar" gives us cool augmented guitar riffs and drips with pop-punk roots. But this band is progressive and maybe even shows evolution for alternative rock as a whole. A great effort and damn well deserves a listen. - Check Out Adjust The Sails New Single "Flashlight"
Welcome to BuzzMusic! Your latest release “Flashlight” is definitively lively, with such an eclectic, yet modern take on production. How did you intend to connect with your listeners with this particular track?! The front bottoms are one of the major bands most my fans relate to. Back in March, I was approached by Daisy of Arbitrary Phrase Records to be part of a collective tribute album for the 8th anniversary of The Front Bottoms self titled album. While the album fell through, I still wanted to put the cover out not so much for me, but more to still pay tribute to a band that in this past year has really helped me through some tough times. In regards to my take on the cover, I wanted it to be a bit different than the original. I wanted it to be a bit less all over the place (don’t get me wrong, the original is great! But definitely not their most coherent work.), with a bit more of a pop punk vibe. Tell us more about the meaning of this song to you? Why did you choose to do a cover for your new release? Flashlight was one of the first songs I ever heard by them. I first heard it when going through a big break up and I really related to the song and the whole concept of going being the person who could hear the the girl in the song’s dog whistle, to having some one else take up that mantle. It was the song I was assigned for the collab, so I immediately got to working on it. What would you say is the most useful piece of criticism you’ve received thus far within your career? Do you typically take criticism to your advantage? - my first ep “Til Death Do Us Part” was made up of 3 songs I had pretty much written for self therapy. This made them all overly depressing. While they were easy to relate to, and it performed well amongst Angsty teens just getting into their Emo phase, most other listeners found the songs way too sad and slow. So, after I came back from a 2 year hiatus/journey to find myself outside of music, I sort of modified the sound a little bit. I kept the self-therapy writing style, but popped the music up a bit. Since doing so, I went from capping out at 3000 listens per song after a few months, to having songs like “Mike Walton” that are almost at 100,000 in a bit over a year. You have an impressive list of accomplishments! What has been your most memorable achievement thus far in your career? I think the most exciting thing about my career thus far has been the Big City Weekender from last October or playing Baltimore’s Frozen Harbor Fest 2019. While not my longest tour, the Big City Weekender had me playing in front of at least 100 people in a cramped town house basement in Philly , which was one of the most surreal moments of my life. On top of that, one of those hundred people was a fan from Chicago that had flown to Philly for the weekend just to attend this show and see us play! It was a treat being able to showcase your rendition of “Flashlight” on BuzzMusic! We can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us as listeners! What’s the next goal for you artistically within the music world, now that you’ve just released a new single?! I'm currently working on recording a few songs for a new release that I'm hoping to get out in the beginning of next year. Aside from that my next goal is to maybe get out on the road with some dope other bands. I had a tour slated for the beginning of November but due to some recent complications and personal issues, it fell through. Listen to "Flashlight" here! - Hiro Delivers Party Track Of The Year “Follow Me” Ft. Nathan Kirsch
Hiro is a well-known producer/DJ making waves throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He aims to leave a lasting impression on his listeners through his unique combination of electronic melodically engaging soundscapes. Hiro is currently working on his upcoming album “Anonymous Minds”, the newest single released from this project is “Follow Me” Ft. Nathan Kirsch. Hiro’s “Follow Me” brings through a gorgeously high energy dance vibe. Fusing the warmth of EDM synths with a positivity, the soundscape of escapism lights up the room with ease. Hiro’s way with sound design and composition is quickly effective, this track is hard-hitting and showcases a passionate and simultaneously professional approach to music production. There’s a touch of nostalgia to the style, “Follow Me” is a notably timeless sort of track. It works as well now as it would have 10-20 years ago and indeed as it will in 10-20 more years. There are as many crisp and clean elements as there are those that link back to the dawn of the genre. Hiro has built a recognizable sound for himself and makes sure there’s enough about this song to grab your attention from afar. Absolutely worth a listen and I look forward to a longer playlist from Hiro! Check out “Follow Me” Ft. Nathan Kirsch here and read more with Hiro below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Hiro! You’re an incredible producer! What do you hope your listeners take away from “Follow Me” Ft Nathan Kirsch? Follow Me is a musical journey from start to finish. This was a great collaboration between Nathan Kirsch and myself that we wanted to produce and create based off of mere feelings. The ultimate goal with this track was to just touch the people out there that have gone through heart break or lust, and just needed an avenue to relate to. If we can touch even one person through this track, we have achieved our mission! “Follow Me” blended so many elements together flawlessly. How do you go about crafting an almost 4 minute instrumental? What are the main qualities you try to capture? With every production, I take it on a case by case basis. Although I have a common element of melodic touches and expressions throughout my projects; I wanted to set the stage for something different. The sax addition to the track came late in its stages but really stole the spotlight once the finished product came along. That, along with Nathan’s amazing vocals, really touched down on an amazing production in my opinion. What have been the main changes you’ve noticed in the music industry within the time you’ve been making music? I may catch a lot of heat for this next comment, but I am going to state my honest opinion based on the question. Throughout my various stages in my production and artistic career, the organic creation I feel like is being lost slowly but surely. I feel there are a lot(not all) artists out there trying to capture the spotlight by forced creation. Making what big labels and agencies see fit for the times, and losing out on why they originally started their music career, whatever level that may be. I’ve never been one to follow the trends. I follow what I like listening to myself. And what I like feeling. My productions are a complete sum of where I’m at and what I’m feeling while they are being created. My popularity may suffer from such an approach, but I will always remain true to the arts and why I entered them. To create what I love. What's the most integral element to your music that you find is always integrated into every track you produce? As I mentioned above, I always create based on how I am feeling in the present moment. That could range from complete and total bliss to a darker, more depressive state of mind. One thing I can always guarantee with my work, is that you will always get 100% me. Thank you so much for chatting with us, it’s been a pleasure to feature “Follow Me” Ft. Nathan Kirsch on our platform! What can you tell us about your upcoming project “Anonymous Minds”? This article is actually the first time the name of the album has been released. This project and album has been in the works for the past year and I am super excited to bring it to everyone. It also will be a musical journey of emotions and feelings. I cannot give much more away than that. But I hope you all enjoy the sneak peak of what is to come with Follow Me. Cheers! www.instagram.com/officialhiro www.facebook.com/officialhiro #BuzzMusic

Being an authentic performer is in Dustin Paul’s DNA. Singing and performing since the age of 14, this led Dustin Paul to lead his previous band to have millions of viewers on Youtube and much success. Now a solo act, Dustin Paul has garnered himself an impressive following and fanbase. Writing for many notable producers, Dustin Paul has a long list of achievements from his craft. Currently, Dustin is preparing to go on tour, as well as working on his upcoming EP, full of solo music and exciting new DJ collaborations. We check out Dustin Paul’s latest release “Good Day” ft. Tom Enzy and we can’t get enough. High energy from beginning to end, “Good Day” will hit any listener straight in the heart. All about having a good time and enjoying life to the fullest, Dustin and Tom know how to create good vibes and relatable lyrics. “Good Day” is the perfect song for that late-night aura or for diving into and dissecting the lyrics. “Good Day” boasts insanely catchy lyrics and an all-around infectiously energizing mood. The song’s concept is represented flawlessly in everything from the lyrics to the general mood it gifts the listener. I’m excited to hear where else the music takes Indite in the coming months and years. Listen to “Good Day” here We absolutely love the new song “Good Day” with Tom Enzy! Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind the song? I wrote that song at a time where I had just parted ways with my long-time band and was really digging deep to find my sound as a solo artist. I was kind of feeling like I was at a dead-end, while at the same time very musically free. As it came out of me, it kind of felt like my swan song, and I think that is why it is so powerful. It was originally recorded a bit slower and a bit less electronic titled "Good Day To Be Alive", then Tom came along, and added his magic as a DJ/Producer to up the ante. We decided to rename it to just "Good Day." Have you worked with Tom before? Can we expect to see another collaboration between you two on your upcoming EP? I've known Tom for a handful of years, and we are actually playing with some new ideas right now. He's super talented As an incredibly experienced singer/songwriter, how do you find each project you've been apart of has ultimately shaped your sound and musical execution today? The great thing about music is that you can constantly discover something new to say and way to say it. I love working and collaborating with different songwriters, DJs, and producers because you can really learn something from everyone if you pay close enough attention. I think energy is a big thing, and surrounding yourself with people who are better than you is the key to growth and self-discovery. That's what I try to do with every new song. How would you say you personally navigate through the music world? What's your secret in becoming a well-rounded artist? The music world these days is a complex game that requires more than just music-making. It requires artists to develop their own brand and personal touch. With social media and technology, fans are more involved in the story and day to day lives of their favorite artists. The key is to let them in and be vulnerable. I think the best part of all this is that people aren't looking for perfection. They are just looking for a connection. In that way, I love this time for us as artists. We have the power, and it's all about utilizing it. Thank you so much for chatting with us! Can you tell us more about your upcoming live performances? Do you prefer live performance over the actual songwriting/recording process? I spent the first couple of years of my solo "career" locked up in studios writing songs and collaborating in order to find myself in music all over again. This past year, I finally got my live show together and have been going out and playing again (some of my songs even for the first time). Honestly, I find myself strongly drawn to both live performances and songwriting/recording because the dichotomy of it all excites me. It makes zero sense to the brain to be alone (or in a quiet songwriting setting), introspective, reflective and then to go out and be the loud life of the party on a stage. But I live for those extremes. instagram.com/dustinpaulmusic facebook.com/dustinpaulmusic twitter.com/dustinpaulmusic #BuzzMusic
- Les Gold’s New Single “No Time” Provides A Moment Of Escapism
Les Gold is a Portland-based indie-rock collective bringing a homegrown Northwest indie aura and blending it a folk-rock sensibility. Founded by frontmen Jenson Tuomi and Travis Ezell, the two have been friends for a lifetime. Other members of Les Gold include lead guitarist Tim Kaye, bassist Nick Wright, and drummer Walter Stern, together the 5-piece have released their debut EP “More Silver” and two singles titled “Out at Sea” and “No Time”. They plan to release a wave of singles over the next year and are currently preparing the to take off on tour this November with major city dates in San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles. Gorgeously cinematic guitar tones meet with folk-like story-telling and stunning harmonies on this latest release from Les Gold. Fusing poetry and genuine emotion in an intimate and authentic setting, “No Time” is a stunning song, pure and beautifully crafted, a superb way to introduce yourself to Les Gold if you're a first-time listener. Where music leads, the instrumental work is perfectly impressive and calming all at once. Where lyricism leads, Les Gold paints thoughtful and reflective scenes before you that are quickly relatable and easy to connect with. Les Gold sound incredible as a band, they work together undeniably well and there’s a natural flow to the music, to both guitar parts and to the vocals. “No Time” rains down in a decidedly immersive and memorable way. Listen to “No Time” here Hey there Les Gold! Welcome to BuzzMusic! We’re really happy to be featuring your song “No Time”. It’s very catchy, but also incorporates an integral message within. Can you explain to our readers the truth that is embedded within the track? Following up on our more shimmery/summery release 'Out at Sea' in July, 'No Time' is oriented more toward the shift from summer to autumn, which becomes kind of an introspective period for most people, certainly for us. While we're all out of school, in general, we still associate the time with going back to work and planning for a new year, and the gloom and confusion implicit in this time definitely comes through in the instrumentation. In general, the song is kind of prodding and poking at whatever assumptions you've carried forward this far. We all like to believe we don't really need to grow up and that we can keep pushing toward dreams without falling into the ennui of the rat race most of us are doomed to live - hence lines like "you scream into your pillow, shaking at the thought. Stuck to live inside a life I didn't want" and "there's no time for growing up yet, tell me who's telling you we're pretending?". It's sort of a dark lullaby from the perspective of singing to someone else, but also singing to yourself - and with a mantra attached to it, one that you repeat both because you want to affirm it, but also because you're kind of desperate for it to become reality. Similar to the process of repeating the mantra, the song kind of spins out and gets more intense at the end of the song, allowing the mantra to turn more into madness as Tim's lead guitar line kicks in, where the more you say it, the more you question it. With the focus on the line "we're pretending" at the end too, it almost feels like your pivoting and accepting that you may actually have been pretending all along. Regardless, we'll pretend until it's true - for music and everything else in life. We’re always curious to learn more about how bands form! How did Les Gold officially come to fruition? Other then Jensen and Travis, did you know the other band members prior to creating the band? So actually all of us went to high school together and had played together at one point or another (except Nick, our bassist). Jenson and Travis definitely lead the charge in writing music together and just in general always singing or goofing off, but Walter and Tim were right there to screw around a lot of the time too. Once we had our first EP mostly written, we brought it to Tim to add his lead guitar since he and Travis were previously in a band called Yahtzee together, and Walter is a skilled drummer and a good friend of ours was a no-brainer to add. Nick was another story, where and Jenson were actually in the same fraternity (Sigma Phi Epsilon) at Oregon State University for a year before Jenson transferred to southern California and attended Claremont McKenna College (funny aside, Tim actually went to Pomona College which was right across the street from Claremont, so he and Jenson had a lot of time to work on music and hang out during the college years as well). It was only after the original EP was released that we realized how badly we needed a top-notch bass player. Nick had been playing in a lot of bands, a couple of which were seriously next level (e.g. Bitches of the Sun) on the Portland scene. We actually got super lucky when we met with him over beers and asked us to come play a couple of shows with us - thankfully he's stuck around and has added so much depth, soul, and complexity to our sound. Plus, to keep it all sort of in the family really means a lot to us. Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your new song “No Time”? As far as influences, it's pretty hard to pinpoint any one individual. I think all of us have our sort of icons that we model after. For me (Jenson), I'd say that James Mercer from The Shins has had the most profound impact as far as lyricism, harmony structure, and some elements of storytelling/underlying themes in songs. We could rattle off a long list of names that also come through pretty clearly in some of our songs too like Bowie, Julian Casablancas, Dan Auerbach, Conner Oberst, Jack White, Bon Iver, James Hamilton Leithauser, etc. but only a couple of them play a big role in the construction of this song. I'd say as far as lyricism, chilled indie vibes, use of bass line interplaying with fingerpicking, and some elements of the harmony, a lot of No Time can be attributed to influences like James Mercer, Bon Iver, and a little pinch of Band of Horses/Radiohead mixed in. What are some of your ultimate goals as a group? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? We have some ultimate goals like playing major festivals (Coachella, Lollapalooza, etc.), getting signed to a top indie label like Sub Pop, Matador, Secretly Canadian, or Kill Rockstars (to name a few), touring internationally to Europe and Japan, and opening/co-headlining with a lot of the bands that influenced us - dreams would be The Shins, The Strokes, The Black Keys, Bon Iver, among many others. As far as working toward those goals, we're currently in talks to play some smaller festivals this spring, which will be a leg up to the bigger ones. We're also looking at a tentative tour to the UK as an opener in late March/early April, but we haven't confirmed that yet so I don't want to jump the gun by talking about it too much. As far as getting signed, we're starting to attract some interest from some smaller indie labels, which is very welcomed! Our biggest song currently, 'Silver Platters', still gets hype and we're hoping these next couples generate enough interest to either get an early signing or maybe a P&D deal for some of our newer music. And on opening, we've probably still got some ground to cover before we get brought on tour with The Black Keys haha, but we're really thrilled to have the opportunity to open for people like Grammy Award winner Jesse Harris in November (a lot of his work both on his own and behind the scenes with other artists has been super influential), and Horse Feathers in January (they're local folk legends from Portland, OR, and we owe a lot to them as well). All good things take time, but we're thankful to be where we are only 11 months since our More Silver EP first released. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this song release? What city are you most looking forward to on your upcoming tour? After this song, we've got another single set to debut in late November/early December, and then the first week of December we'll be back in the studio finishing 3 more songs that will last us into the spring. Outside of that, we're really doubling down on opening for some bigger acts, playing more outside of Portland, and ideally hitting some of the festival circuits as well as playing in the UK. As far as this upcoming tour, it's tough to say, each city has a lot of sentimental value to us. San Francisco will definitely bring out a crowd, which we're very excited for. But if I were to pick one, I'd say our Los Angeles date is going to be the real one to remember. We'll be playing in full force in warm weather, in front of a lot of people that have been inspirational for us thus far in the journey - and do be right on top of the pulse of the music industry in LA is a sort of rejuvenating and inspiring experience all to itself. Also, really looking forward to getting a double-double after the show - it's been too damn long since I've had In N Out. instagram.com/lesgoldmusic facebook.com/lesgoldmusic #BuzzMusic
- Check Out Alfonso Lugo’s Latest Single “Loca”
Even with its modern-day energy that seems to fit well with the mainstream sound of today, Alfonso Lugo’s “Loca” firmly introduces the award-winning songwriter as a unique act that undoubtedly has his own original approach to music, and it works. “Loca” is a spacious and fairly dreamlike Latin-pop track, minimalist to an extent, but what’s there has been thoughtfully and colorfully incorporated to drive that rhythm and melody through with memorable strength. It’s a hit within itself, easy to vibe to or escape among and that’s before you even get to the hook. “Loca” offers a pretty striking hook, nostalgic in many ways and reminiscent of a simpler time, again offering the crisp and satisfying production style of today. Alfonso Lugo showcases his own gentle yet passionate and confident performance styles. In addition to how enjoyable and impressive all of this is, that hook effectively seals the deal in making the song stand tall in its own right. Although it’s in Spanish, the verses hold tight to your attention, the delivery is smooth and hypnotic, beautiful to listen to, and the words have such poignancy. When the hook comes alive, the drop here is not overly intense but still, it hits with impact. Well worth a listen or two at volume! Check out “Loca” here and read more with Alfonso Lugo below! Hey Alfonso Lugo, it’s such a pleasure to be featuring your music to our BuzzMusic community! How did you get originally started in the music industry? Was there a specific event/person in your life that made you get into music/ start recording your material? Thank you guys, pleasure is mine! I knew I wanted to become a music producer since I was a teenager, I started writing songs when I was 12 (very basic songs, but I still remember some of them lol). My parents are not professional musicians, but they do play instruments and sing, it was just natural for me. We immediately found that "Loca" captured an alluring melody with hypnotizing vocals! It's what caught, and ultimately kept our attention! What was the overall mood you wanted to set for listeners in this particular track? Women are goddesses for me! It’s my way of express that I want to make them crazy, pleasure crazy, of course! It’s in Spanish, but Loca is a word that everybody knows and can sing. How did the songwriting and recording process execute for "Loca”? Did you fall into any creative slumps while initially writing the track, or does the curation process flow naturally for you? I wrote Loca with the Armin brothers, a couple talented songwriters, everything was super natural, we found that international sound and we were happy with it. We had a very strong produced track, but the minute my very good friend and producer Mario Marchetti (Demi Lovato, JLo, Jojo, Nick Carter) listened to it, he wanted to be involved and we rearranged everything. Tell our readers more about your definitive aspirations as an artist! What would you say is the ultimate goal, artistic wise? Touring the world, place my songs in the best movies and series and collaborating with big artists. Thanks for sharing your recent music here on BuzzMusic! A pleasure to have you here Alfonso Lugo! - Everything You Need To Know About Tauros' New Single 'Without U'
Hey Tauros! Welcome to BuzzMusic! It’s such a pleasure to be chatting with you. You seem to be an artist that puts a substantial amount of thought into your lyrics! Who/what has inspired you to be the artist you are today? Thanks for noticing. I spend a lot of time writing and tweaking my lyrics to make it fun for the listener and when I have something to get off my chest or something that requires more heart It can take weeks. My inspirations come from all across the board. Smokey Robinson and Prince just to name a few are next level songwriters that I truly love! "Without U" seems like a deeply personal track. Is vulnerability something your fans can always expect from your music? Can you tell us more about this particular song? My listeners should not expect anything from my work I’m constantly evolving and changing and I will try just about any genre of music LOL! “Without U” was written at a time when I was letting my career come before my love life and all the people I love in general which a lot of artists do today just to become successful. I realized you never miss a good thing till it’s gone and I had to learn the hard way but writing about it and sharing it with the world was the best therapy. It's no surprise that "Without U" garnered so much success! With over 30k streams and 10k views on Youtube, would you say this track is your greatest accomplishment as an artist so far? What is your ultimate goal as an artist? Yes, it is my most successful piece of music to date and I’m very proud of it because it has substance and so many people loved it instantly. That feeling is amazing for an indie artist. My ultimate goal as an artist is to touch as many people with music who want to listen and have a legacy like the greats that I mentioned earlier. It's so incredible that you were able to direct the music video for "Without U", you're a truly independent artist! What was the filming process like? Directing the video was not easy but I knew to go into it that it was going to be a lot of work. I mapped everything out just the way I envisioned it with storyboards, test shots, casting and all. With very little resources I managed to pull it off. Hats off to full-time directors though. The filming, lighting and editing process is not for the faint of heart! LOL How has moving from Detroit to Los Angeles influenced you as an artist? What has been the biggest challenge you've overcome? The move from Detroit to LA needed to happen at the time I had outgrown Detroit musically by winning the biggest talent contest there and then there was nothing left to do there. The biggest challenge I overcame was commitment. LA has a lot of distractions when it comes to the industry. You have to stay focused and keep working to survive. Thank you so much for chatting with us. What's the next move for you artistically? Are you playing any shows in the near future? Thank you for having me. I’ve been doing a few spot dates here there as I tweak my show. I want to incorporate more live instruments and visuals to make it more of an experience so really that’s what’s next and more new music. I write and produce new songs every day. instagram.com/taurosmusic 333musicllc.com/tauros #BuzzMusic
- Antonia Kirby Stuns Us With Powerful Vocals And Honest Lyrics In “Fool”
Antonia Kirby is a gifted singer/songwriter from Warwickshire. The budding songstress states that music is her happy place, and that's clearly evident through the level of charisma, confidence, and joy she brings to her vocal performances. After a brief hiatus, the mother of two under three has released her debut EP on all major streaming platforms and has thankfully returned to the gig scene just this past month. “I love to sing - it is one of the only times I ever feel I can be 100% myself.” - Antonia Kirby Antonia’s latest release “Fool” is a delightfully jazz-pop inspired single that was composed of international award-winning jazz artist Tom Haines. He assisted Antonia with the music while she wrote the melody and passionate, vulnerable lyrics. “Fool” focuses on a relationship filled with emotional turmoil, but no matter how many times the same mistakes are made, you always run back to them. The single is gorgeously easy-going and drives with that same sense of optimism and love for the art-form that always seems to stand tall in Antonia’s writing. The overall sound and style lean off in its own notably jazz direction. This artistic choice works beautifully considering the context and the story-line.”Fool” is a strong introduction to Antonia Kirby who has a clear skill for songwriting, a simple yet effective musical approach, and an impressive live show! - On Repeat: Sean Reed Price “Snake Charmer”
Sean Reed Price is hard at work in the studio working on his debut solo album “Cosmic Snake”. This release comes after a hiatus from music as Sean was a previous member of the Hermosa Beach-based psychedelic blues-rock power trio: Temporal Love. Sean left LA and spent time traveling around Central American and Northern California/ Now based in LA;s South Bay, Sean Reed Price is back and better than ever, with no plans to slow down. Featured on his upcoming album is the single “Snake Charmer”. As things build within the track, that quick familiarity in the melodic development takes you by the hand and guides you right into the center of the action, resulting in a brilliant and musically satisfying hook that tops it all off perfectly. There’s a recognizable twang to Sean’s style of songwriting, the indie rock aura pours through in the voice and indeed in the way the whole build-up and drop proceed to resolve. The music envelops you, prompting you to escape or feel energized, at the same time as considering or relating to these deeply personal and honest, poetically presented lyrics. The energy of the song rises up slowly but in a rhythmically entrancing manner, seeming to wash over you like a wave, the bigger moments crashing into action before the sound drags back out to sea. “Snake Charmer” is well worth a listen or two! Check out “Snake Charmer” here and keep scrolling for more with Sean Reed Price! Hey there Sean! Welcome to the BuzzMusic community! Can you share with our readers how the overall production of "Snake Charmer" went? Thanks! Glad to be a part of it. I usually start with the bare bones of a song; mainly the chords on guitar, a vocal melody with lyrics, and maybe an idea for a bass line. Then I'll lay out the structure; the tempo, time signature and any rhythmic changes. I like to be open to new ideas while I am recording other parts, and will adjust the various elements to accommodate if necessary. For example; after coming up with the flute & sitar arrangement on the keyboard, over the chorus part, I had to adjust two of the guitar chords to better fit the harmony I had come up with. For the drums I used Logic Pro X's "Drummer" program to dial in a general feel for the song, and went in later to adjust the MIDI to add in any fills, cymbal hits, stops, and to make the kick and snare sync up better with the bass. The bridge and outro were pretty much set from old demos I recorded, and were just a matter of getting good takes for the guitar and harmonica solos. I had fun recording the flute solos over the verses on keyboard as well- I love messing with exotic scales haha. Can you describe where you drew your inspiration from in order to curate "Snake Charmer"? I love to incorporate imagery into my lyrics, and to tell a story. I also like the idea of pairing an audio and visual experience- so, I'm doing illustrations for each song on this album. I take inspiration from something I recall, I think, Jimi Hendrix saying about creating his own mythology in music. Over the course of my travels, and throughout my exploration of meditation and self-inquiry, I developed a connection to the archetype of the snake. So, I felt compelled to use that symbolism in a song. The song is mainly about transformation, and recognizing that, while we may not realize it, the adverse situations we find ourselves in might just be the catalyst to awaken our highest potential. What prompted your split from Temporal Love, if you don’t mind us asking?! Do you prefer being a solo musician? I think that we just diverged over time, in terms of creative compatibility. In the beginning we started in a very strong collaborative flow; I wrote the lyrics, did the artwork, and we collaborated on the music. I encouraged Tyler (T-Love's lead guitar player) to write his own tunes and sing, and we each began developing our own styles. After a while though, I felt like the band moved in a direction where my creative vision wasn't being fully utilized or expressed. So, In combination with that and being fed up with my manufacturing job at the time, I lost interest, and decided to travel and do some introspection and healing. It would be fun to get the old band back together, but everyone has since moved on to other projects. At this point, I have such a vision for what I am creating, and it is fun having total creative freedom and control over the entire production. I'm not opposed to collaborating with others, but as of right now, I'm really only looking for a backing band to help bring my songs to life. What're the predominant changes you face within your music from when you first started creating, to now?! I started writing songs my sophomore year of high school, and back then I didn't really know what I was doing in terms of music theory or storytelling haha. I have always felt that I have an intuitive sense for music though, and over the years have been able to marry that to a more technical understanding. I have definitely gone through a journey of refinement in my songwriting, and I am much more critical of my work than I used to be. Unless I feel very satisfied with what I've written, I will often go through multiple drafts of a song until I find something more compelling or meaningful. In terms of musicality; as I continue to progress as a musician, I am able to incorporate more interesting chords and scales- whereas in the beginning, I was more limited by my understanding of music and the instrument. Also, now that I am doing all my own production and sound engineering, so that is a whole other level that wasn't there when I was first starting out. It was awesome to showcase your music here to our BuzzMusic listeners! Any parting words of inspiration to aspiring singer/songwriters out there?! Thank you! One thing I will say to aspiring singer/songwriters is that you have plenty of time to get to know yourself and to find your sound. The more I have learned about music, the less I feel that I know. Don't be in such a hurry for fame and fortune. Don't be afraid to look at yourself critically, but also don't let those observations determine your self worth. Be true to yourself, and create music that makes you feel alive. www.instagram.com/seanreedprice www.facebook.com/SeanReedPriceMusic #BuzzMusic
