  • Ryel Delivers Spectacular Electro Pop Crossover “Bad”

Hailing for San Antonio, Texas, pop artist Ryel is delivering new music with over ten years of experience under his belt. Formally fronting heavier bands, Ryel decided to make the move to a more pop direction with the help of producer/ songwriter Cory Brunnemann and Jacob Mares. Ryel's latest release, “Bad” is a bass-driven electro-pop crossover hit. Classic synths inject energy and optimism into the room for this one, piercing the air with electronic energy and brightness. A sudden intensity contrasts brilliantly with the smooth and delicate innocence of that leading voice. Ryel has an incredible vocal range and the melody through “Bad” is beyond addictive. “Bad” is stunning, a classic electro-pop journey with a crisp and clean finish yet an overall weight and warmth that works beautifully at volume. In the same instance, there’s a song and a concept at play, as the listener you’re inspired to believe in better and as the soundscape and that hook rain down you’re filled with a sense of wonder and vibrancy. As is the role of great electronic music, and no one does it greater than Ryel right now. Absolutely worth a few streams! Listen to "Bad" here Hey Ryel! We’re really enjoying bumping your track “Bad”. What was the overall concept of this project? The concept for this project was to do something that I haven’t before, a lot of people know me for fronting bands and I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and see what I could offer as myself. We know that you're a lover of integrating a variety of elements into your music. Would you ever incorporate contrasting genres into your music, or do you think it would ruin the type of sound you're attempting to reach? Sure, I’m always open to experimenting with different sounds and seeing what works. Right now I’m just trying to do me so well see what comes to my mind and f it sounds good I’m going to do it. "Bad" is surging with articulate emotions. What kind of feelings did you want listeners to be washed over with when listening to the song? I’d like my listeners to just feel connected in any way that they can. If it makes you tap your foot or dance, do it! There's no right or wrong way to feel about my music. The vocals in "Bad" are absolutely breath-taking! Have you had any professional training? How have you honed your vocal style overtime? I actually have never had any professional training, though I’ve had a countless number of friends and fans ask me for tips and coaching we'll see if that's something I could do down the road. I've always just done what comes naturally for me and found my voice along the way. Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us. What's the next move for you artistically? Do you have any events you’d like to talk about? I just want to keep putting out good music, the shows will come when they come. Right now my main goal is to build a genuine fanbase and connect with them and start a close relationship with each fan. instagram.com/ryelofficial facebook.com/Ryelofficial soundcloud.com/frpkgmgth2cy #BuzzMusic

  • Classic Rock n Roll Will Never Die! Check Out “The Old Saloon” By Grim

Hailing from Red Deer, Alberta is the explosive rock collective Grim. They frantically threw a band together back in 2016 so they could play a Dusty Tucker Christmas Bangover. Soon after, they began creating their debut album. If they're not in the studio, you can find Grim playing live shows throughout the central Alberta area spreading their infectious classic rock n roll. “The Old Saloon” kicks off with a tasty guitar riff that serves as the basis for the whole song. All of the other instruments join in relatively quickly, and before you know what’s hit you, there’s a big- band full soundscape surrounding you. Things settle down for the verses where the unmistakable classic vocals come in. This leads the listener into an anthemic chorus flooded with gritty rock vocals that are authentic to Grim. The bridge of “The Old Saloon” is arguably the most diverse part of the song. It breaks away from the established vibe and introduces a completely new melody to the track. This is the point in the song where the musicians really let their talents shine, and it takes the song to a much deeper level. A large reason Grim is so successful in what they do is because the musicianship of the band is absolutely fantastic. “The Old Saloon” is a prime example of all of this, combining elements of hard rock, classic rock, and contemporary elements making for a song that has the ability to appeal rock fans, both old and new alike. Check out “The Old Saloon” here and read more with Grim below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Grim! Who are the members of the band? How did Grim come to fruition? Thanks, its nice talking to you guys! So, I'm Alex, I sing and play guitar, my little brother Ryan is the other guitarist and our long time buds Dane Williams (Drums) And Jackson Rowthorn (Bass) have teamed up with us to start this band, we've also recently added a new member, Eric Doucet who plays keys. How the band started was basically just me with a bunch of Rock riffs that, at the time I wasn't really too focused on until this one time I was at a show in Red deer and the singer from a really awesome local band asked me if I had had my own band and if we could come play at their annual Christmas Bangover, which is a great show that id seen many times. So, having just dropped out of music school I pretty much decided that I should play Rock & Roll and assembled the band as fast as I could, and for the most part the same line-up has stuck around. “The Old Saloon” feels like 2-3 brilliant songs packed into one! What was the writing/recording process like for a song with so many elements at work? Well, this song pretty much just started as a series of riffs that I had written, I messed around with the arrangement for quite a long time before I could get it how I wanted it. Finally was happy with the song and when it came time for the rest of the band tome come do their parts I pretty much gave them free reign to do whatever they felt was right, each member brought in great parts, we'd had a bit of producing to do but in the end the instrumentation of the song turned out great. The lead singer has an incredibly versatile voice! Have you had professional training? Do you have any advice for aspiring rock vocalists? Such kind words! Thank you. I briefly took lessons from the singer of a local hardcore band called Dusty Tucker he gave me tips on screaming and also cleans, pretty much just showed me vocal scales and that's it, we didn't really do the lessons very long and I'm really hoping to get in for some more professional vocal training before we begin to record our follow up album. But for anyone out there that wants to learn how to sing all you really need to do is look into vocal scales. It's pretty much just an audio file that you sing along too, Zen of screaming or Teach yourself to sing from Chapters are both good. What’s the overall concept of your self-titled album? What do you hope your listeners take away from it? This was my first real attempt at song writing so at the time this stuff was all being recorded I think I was still pretty much just figuring lyrics out as I went along. Trying tons of different things and just seeing which comes out best. Theres no real orginzed lyrical theme that is consistent throughout all of the songs, they're all pretty much just seperate little stories. I just hope the listeners become interested in the stories and like the tunes! We really appreciate you chatting with us about your incredible music! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? Yeah! Well, in two days we hit studio again to do a new single called Blood, which is being recorded in the Rolling Stones mobile studio down in Calgary. We also have a few songs written for a follow up album that we hope to start recording soon. I feel like, creatively the new stuff will totally be on another level. Musically we're beginning to write together as a group and lyrically the album will be a concept. But yeah lots of exciting things happening, its been great talking to you guys, we can't wait to hear from you again! www.instagram.com/grimrocknroll #BuzzMusic

Daglio, Blake, Andrew, Brandon, and Zakk are the members that make up the explosive collective of Smoke & Mirrors. Their catchy hard rock hooks and bleeding-edge guitar solos manage to unapologetically rip through the speakers and spread a nostalgic essence of early 90s grunge with a taste of their own unique blend. All members hail from different parts of the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area and are currently touring in support of their self-titled debut album! The emotive lyricism, pummeling guitar, tight rhythms, and powerhouse vocals fuse together to form an undeniably infectious hit! This absolute smash will have you headbanging and rocking out wherever you may be. Despite the high energy delivery, “Keep Moving” holds a message with heavy subject matter. Smoke & Mirrors chemistry, confidence, and finely-calibrated sound is impressive. They’re unapologetic about their musical ability and we can’t get enough! The collective of Smoke & Mirrors is delivering nothing but hits and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the table next! Listen to “Keep Moving” here and keep scrolling to read more in our exclusive interview! Hey there Smoke & Mirrors! Welcome to BuzzMusic! We’re really happy to be featuring your song “Keep Moving”. It’s very catchy, but also incorporates an integral message within. Can you explain to our readers the truth that is embedded within the track? Keep Moving is a song that kind of unifies the band’s views on the modern world. We are all bound by machines and devices that govern our everyday lives. In certain ways, the more connected we are as a society, the more isolated we have become as humans. Technology has brought wonders to our era and yet something has been lost. The song pushes us to move through all of this, to keep moving as humans together in the face of adversity and change. We’re always curious to learn more about how bands form! How did Smoke & Mirrors officially come to fruition? Did you know the other band members prior to creating the band? You know, pretty much the usual way these things go. Someone knew someone, that knew someone else, and then put an ad on craigslist for the bassist! Basically the Drum player and guitar players knew each other from previous projects and playing around the Cincinnati Scene. Singer was brought in as a replacement and we really did find our bassist on Craigslist! LOL! The band came together quickly as we had our first three songs after the 1st rehearsal. Our singer had only been in Cincinnati a couple of years as he is from El Salvador. Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your new song “Keep Moving”? Our biggest influences are probably Faith no More, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots. “Keep Moving” is very reminiscent of the grunge-era of rock n roll. I believe this song really blends all of them together and you can really hear the impact mainly on the guitars and vocal harmonies. The band is focused on bringing that grunge/alternative/hard rock sound back to the modern day and expanding on that. What are some of your ultimate goals as a group? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? Right now, we are headed back into the studio to record a new EP and subsequently a new video for 2020 release. Our main goal is to begin touring locally in support of our new material next year. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about your debut album!? Thank you for having us at Buzz Music,we really appreciate it! Our Album was released in 2018 and it features 8 gracious melodies that evoke a grunge-era, screaming-guitar driven emotion. Produced by Joe Viers at Sonic Lounge Studios in Columbus OH, we really went in wanting that hard, melodic, rock sound that we grew up with. We incorporate some Latin elements as well as more progressive rock time signatures and blend it all together. The album’s harmonies really carry you through the entire experience and really highlight that alternative rock feel. Make sure to check out our Album on all major digital retailers and streaming services! www.instagram.com/realsmokeandmirrorscincinnati #BuzzMusic

  • NEW MUSIC: Meghan Pulles Releases New EP “Keep The Light On”

Born and raised in Florida, singer/ songwriter Meghan Pulles is making waves in the music industry through her soulful music. After moving to NYC from Orlando 7 years ago, Meghan threw herself into her music fully. She didn’t just move to NYC to pursue music but her path shifted when she became awakened to the musical healing, and spirituality of songwriting. Meghan uses her songwriting has both an outlet and a means to heal. She hopes to share her instrumental music to assist others going through what she’s been through and provide a healing outlet for listeners. Meghan Pulles just released her EP “Keep The Light On” and it’s 4 tracks of musical bliss. “Shelter In The Storm” is a raw and vulnerable intro track. Meghan’s angelic vocals and authentic to the core songwriting has us singing along to every word. With elements of alternative pop within the indie-folk realm, Meghan takes the listener on a journey and gives us a retrospective look at her inner thoughts and feelings. “Shelter In The Storm” is an emotive love ballad that is fitting for any listener's individual situation. Simplistic yet stunningly diverse, “Shelter In The Storm” is the perfect beginning to the journey of this EP. The title track “Keep The Light On” is an open and honest track from Meghan Pulles. Her vocals add a powerful tone and a sense comfortability. Her expansive range and intoxicating tone capture listeners instantly. Meghan Pulles has found her original sound and it flows so freely. “Keep The Light On” will have you toe-tapping, clapping, and singing along with the spectacular artistry of Meghan Pulles. Arrangement wise, this playlist holds your attention and affection brilliantly. “A Little Hope” sees Meghan get somewhat candid and personal in a more specific way than seemed to show itself before. The delicacy of the stripped-down set-up suits this moment well, and again highlights the artist’s understanding of the importance of arrangement. Her voice progresses to captivate wonderfully here. Another highlight, slowly but surely enveloping the listener in a powerful moment of emotion and painfully relevant poetic observations. “Light After Loss” adds a touch of story-telling that feels immediately nostalgic, it focuses on overcoming grief and finding the lessons and “Light After Loss” Bringing things to a decidedly thoughtful finish, ending the EP in a similar manner to which it began, “Light After Loss” is a sensational piece of music and writing. Gentle and mellow by nature, but decidedly big seeming overall. The sentiment and the way the chords and the melody unite helps build a sense of togetherness, of vastness and possibility. A song well worth hearing a few times over, it brings through a classically impressive and immersive style of songwriting that seems all but gone from much of modern mainstream music. Meghan Pulles writes and performs because it’s simply a part of who she is. You can hear this, and you can feel it, throughout “Keep The Light On” and throughout all of her music to date. Always an artist worthy of a listener’s trust. A lovely new project, a pleasure to feature on BuzzMusic. Listen to “Keep The Light On” here and read more with Meghan Pulles below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Meghan Pulles! Congratulations on your new EP! Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your recent album "Keep The Light On"?! Thank you so much! Since the inception of being a singer-songwriter at 17, I knew that I wanted to do an EP. It has been a dream of mine to have this genre available to the world. I started recording for this EP last year, and originally was going to call it "A Little Hope", but something within me wanted to change it to “Keep the Light On” because it just spoke so much louder about all of the songs recorded. I feel like the title "Keep The Light On" is just so important in today's culture, especially with all of the darkness that the world is facing. I wanted to write an EP/album that encompassed a lot of positive feelings and emotions to uplift people in their dark times; their struggles with insidious diseases, mental illness, and various abuse. I want to offer a message of light in a dark situation. I want society to know that they are not alone in their battles, and there is hope. This is also a part of my story, how I came out of the darkness and stepped into the light. You've had such a strong love and passion for music for many years! How do you think you and your music have grown since you first started writing, versus now? Music is my passion, my first love. I was raised around music my entire life and it's really the only language I know best on this planet. Cathartically, my music has really grown this year and continues to. I went from writing about heartbreak, and unrequited love at first but now the themes I am discovering within myself are really coming to fruition. I really believe that I am a much deeper writer than I ever thought. I think my writing is now very lyrical and connects emotionally. I view my writing as a spiritual experience. I firmly believe that I as I connect deeper within, these messages and songs emerges, and my soul longs to share them with others. It’s just truly a beautiful thing to connect and relate with others. I view my songwriting as musical therapy for myself and others faced with dire situations and obstacles. It's an incredible feeling when you write a song that resonates with others, and they thank you for giving them hope. Honestly, this means the world to me. "Shelter In The Storm" is the perfect track to open up your recent album. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track? Shelter In The Storm is one of my favorites. This song was actually written years ago in my bedroom whilst I was fantasizing about finding the perfect partner to accompany me in this thing we call life. I was dating around, and just not feeling connected or that anyone wanted to be with me long term. This song is my "campfire love-song", and now it's pretty cool that I have this kind of settled, and rooted love in my life, so whenever I perform it I am really singing about my sweetheart, who is actually a real human instead of just some fantasy. "A Little Hope" is flooded with absolute passion and emotion. What emotions were crucial to channel when creating this song? A Little Hope came about a couple of years ago when I was commissioned to write a song for the New Year’s Eve service at church. My pastor wanted me to write something that could give people the message of starting over, and what we can do every day to be there for each other and how to be better individuals. This song really captures the essence of if we all take a little time to give a little hope, and a little love to others that this world can be a better place. I go into the state of the world, and how mad people are in the second verse. It is scary how many shootings and terror events were happening during that time (and still does), and it really affects me, which is why I felt compelled to include those lyrics. This song is an anthem of spreading hope and love, and kindness to the world today and not just in the holiday season. We must also be grateful for what we have because others aren't so lucky. Thank you so much for sharing your new music with us! What else are you working on going forward? Do you have any upcoming shows to promote the new EP? You are welcome, thank you so much for listening. It's always an exciting but nerve-racking time putting new stuff out there, because you really want people to like it, and respond the same way that you are feeling about it. I really appreciate how supportive BuzzMusic has been for me! My next project is going to be an LP that I actually just submitted a grant through the City of New York for, it's titled "The Reckoning", and it's going to be an album based on how to come out of abusive situation in a positive light, as a woman dealing with a toxic male in her life. I am going to have an all-female band playing on the songs which is a really big statement for me because I want the female voice on this album. This album is autobiographical to me, as I have had some hauntingly personal experiences with abuse, and toxic masculinity. I am really excited about this project. I think right now this is the perfect time to tell my story, and I cannot wait to get into this next chapter. Right now, I am getting ready for my EP Release Party on Thursday. I think I may book a show or two to close out the year, but I am still figuring out my schedule. I will be selling physical copies of my EP which is something I have never done. I am really excited at the prospect of holding the art that I have created in my hands, so exciting! www.instagram.com/meghanpulles www.facebook.com/megpulles #BuzzMusic

  • Soulful Pop Vocalist Matteson Let’s Her Listeners Inside Her Personal Thoughts In “Stayed”

Matteson Gregory is an up and coming pop artist from Branson, MO. Growing up surrounded by music, Matteson owes her passion for music to her father’s band experience, her grandparent's karaoke parties, and of course her notable influences of Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Matteson’s debut single “Comfortable” was released this past spring and garnered nothing but success from fans, leading Matteson to release a brand new single “Stayed!”. “Stayed!” gives the listener an introspective look at Matteson’s stirring thoughts and emotions and the regrets and ups and downs that occur after the loss of love. Emotive lyrics lay out a poetic story for the listening as Matteson weaves her way through a raw and powerful performance. “Stayed!” boasts Matteson’s ability to blend Soul and Pop to create a genre-bending new wave sound. Electronic instrumentals fused together flawlessly create a catchy and eclectic arrangement. Her vocals possess an alluring melancholy similar to Taylor Swift’s style of singing. Matteson expertly delivers enlivening poetry that any listener can relate to. Her ability to connect with her fans in unmatched in today’s industry. Heartrending and authentic to the core “Stayed!” stays true to its name. I highly recommend you check out this track and stay on the lookout for the explosive, up and coming Matteson Gregory. Listen to “Stayed!” here and keep scrolling for our exclusive interview with Matteson. Hi Matteson, welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you tell our readers more about your upbringing and what really pushed you to get started in the music industry? I was brought up in a very close-knit, loving, and supportive family. I have so many memories going to my grandparents and hanging out with my cousins. I also remember doing a lot of karaoke nights and I would always get up and sing. I would say my family is for sure the reason why I am pursing music. I've always had a love for music and would've pursued it but having such a big, caring support system definitely makes you feel like you can do this. We’re always interested in how artists convey their music. If you had to describe yours without using any specific genre names (ie: Pop) how would you describe it? Some words I would use to describe my music would be honest, flowy, and melodic. I'm always trying to test different melodies and different instrumentals on every song I write. I really like to think outside the box with every song. We love your track “Stayed!”, it’s very vulnerable and real Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind it? Do you try to base all of your songwriting on life experiences? Thanks! The real inspiration behind this song is about a person that I wish would've stayed. I found myself constantly thinking about the what ifs and just wishing that they would walk through the door and we could pick up where we left off. I mean, I still think about that. That is one thing you can always take from my music. I will always write about my life and my experiences. I want people to connect with me and I think the best way to do that is to be vulnerable. What’s the music scene like in your hometown of Branson, MO? What challenges have you faced as an up and coming artist? How do you overcome those challenges? The music scene in Branson is pretty small but it seems to be getting better. More and more local businesses are pushing for local music. That's one of the challenges I've faced as and up and coming artist: finding places that will let you play. There have been so many times where I have messaged places and they either won't message back or they don't have space. A lot of these places want cover bands so it's hard to find places that will let you play original music. But that's never really stopped me because I always tend to find places that let me play and they are always loyal to me and my music and that is so important to find. Thanks so much for sharing your new single “Stayed!” with us! What other projects are you working on!? Do you have any upcoming shows to support the new single? As of right now, I'm focusing on promoting the single by doing blogs and asking people to add it to their playlists. I actually will be playing at the Summit Art Festival in Lee's Summit on the release date so I will for sure be promoting there like crazy. I'm always working on the next thing so stay tuned! • #NewMusicFriday: Terrence Spectacle Drops Powerful Two-Piece Single 'A Letter From Belize'

Terrence Spectacle is a talented hip-hop artist from Dallas, TX. He’s back and better than ever, ready to showcase his refined style and sound. His latest release “A Letter From Belize” is a two-song track beginning with “Tell Me Lies” and moving into “Best Guy”. “Tell Me Lies” kicks up with a mellow beat and the mood is chilled from the offset. Upon this, the hook strikes with a gentle contemporary twang but a more notable level of heart and purpose. Following that, the verses proceed to offer details and personal intricacies that lay bare a certain level of realness and vulnerability. While Terrence is never afraid to get deep and genuine with regard to feelings and life in his music, this particular release seems in some ways like the most open and meaningful yet. It feels directed specifically at a significant other, and it feels deeply considerate at the same time. The very concept of balance, of needing to find that in order to achieve peace and to re-connect with those who matter, is something rarely pondered in modern hip hop; or music in general. “Best Guy” offers a fine fusion of hip hop, electronica, and fascinating, poetic lyricism. Terrence even structures his vocal performance in a refreshing way. It’s a strong way to go out, and it reminds you of the strengths that make up his best songs released to date. “A Letter From Belize” is a step in a slightly different direction, but as always, a crisp and professional, enjoyable beat, worked upon with style by an artist who knows how to master his bars and write songs that emerge as authentic, engaging, and relatable. Listen to 'A Letter From Belize' here Hey there Terrence Spectacle! Welcome to BuzzMusic! “A Letter From Belize” is a category transforming! Tell us how you came to produce this track! Hey, thanks for having me! The track came about overtime after I digested some hardcore truths about myself and some traumas I’d experienced, really a series of self-reflections sort of implanted the themes in me. The next time I went into the studio with new material pre my “Traverse” album release these were the new elements and notions I carried. “Tell Me Lies” is definitively lively, with such an eclectic, yet modern take on production. How did you intend to connect with your listeners with this particular track?! I want my fans to connect with me on a personal level, and all my friends know personally I’m just an avid truth seeker, and can be brutally honest. Tell Me Lies is that self-truth, encapsulated in just under four minutes. Tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics within your “Best Guy”! Best Guy is really the other side of the truth-seeking aspect I hold so dear. To me, it’s more like a heart to heart conversation than a song. I’m legitimately stating facts, all the same as if you and I were speaking face to face. What would you say is the most useful piece of criticism you’ve received thus far within your career? Do you typically take criticism to your advantage? Keep working, and until you’ve mastered your craft; KEEP on practicing. I can be a bit of a perfectionist so I try to stay open-minded when receiving criticism so that I’m not too harshly swayed with the influence of other people’s take on my music. However, I do enjoy it when things are brought into a new light or perspective and can be improved upon. Not being perfect, means I can still get better and I’m content with that. It was a treat being able to showcase “A Letter From Belize” on BuzzMusic! We can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us as listeners! What’s the next goal for you artistically within the music world, now that you’ve just released a new single? I’m here to show face and shake shit up. This is another intro into the next chapter of my story, and I want to expose my music and myself as much as I can, and genuinely own all the territory I can cover. I appreciate you all for having me, thanks again for premiering A Letter from Belize! - terrencespectacle.com facebook.com/terrencespectaclemusic twitter.com/tspectacle instagram.com/terrencespectacle soundcloud.com/terrencespectacle #BuzzMusic

  • TAPE TRASH Talks About Their New Single "Ghost Town"

Hey TAPE TRASH! Your latest single "Ghost Town" is incredibly electrifying and fast-paced! The energy that pours off from the song is incredible! How did the overall production of the track go?! Was it fairly easy to maintain this energy throughout the recording process? Ghost Town was on the first songs we made as TAPE TRASH. Usually, we record demos really quickly without too much overthinking. With Ghost Town, we thought the demo had this pure energy that we wanted to bring into the studio recording. After setting up in the studio and finding the right sounds for everything, we just went for it. "Ghost Town" flawlessly captures the imagery of a nostalgic yet strange place. What was the main inspiration behind the track? The main inspiration is memories, but slightly fantastical ones, distorted through a lens of nostalgia.  It's about the strange sensation of returning to your hometown and feeling alien. What steps do you all take to ensure that your sound is ultimately as authentic as it can be? We try not to overanalyze what we do. If it feels good its good! If a song makes us move around in excitement while we make it we know it is working. Where do you imagine the best setting is to experience "Ghost Town"? How would you each personally describe the track to someone who hasn't given it a listen to yet?! The best way to experience Ghost Town is on your headphones while biking through your hometown at night! How we would describe the track to someone: Anders: A three minute nostalgic indie-rock trip with some dreamy elements. Kristofer: Energetic, action pop with traces of anxiety and restlessness. We have been working with a few different vocalists in the LA area for the past couple of years and just finally starting to get a release strategy together. Most of what we do we like to refer to as cloud pop, though we have some heavier hitting releases coming as well. We absolutely love the new song “Lights Awn” feat. Keisha Henry! Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind the song? We are super stoked you dig this song. Really started out with a bubbly instrumental that was a little more deep house, in its earliest form. The track morphed a lot from thereafter we cut the vocal though. In terms of the song We had a concept for the title and first two bars of the hook then just wrote backward (and forwards) from there... Have you worked with Keisha before? Can we expect to see another collaboration between you two on your upcoming singles? I've worked with Keisha a lot in the past and she and I used to be in a production and songwriting trio called Accidental Airplay many moons ago with my other friend Ellis Miah who is also an LA-based producer songwriter and DJ. I’m sure we’ll do more with Keisha. She is so fun to work with and has such an effortless style and gorgeous voice that we love. As an incredibly experienced musician and producer, how do you find each project you've been apart of has ultimately shaped your sound and musical execution today? N: I’ve just always really wanted to do pop but with a bit of a songwriter style on the lyric and melody side of things. Matt is such a ridiculous talent and I’m just super grateful we met. The best thing about working with Matt is I feel like we’re both able to remove our ego from the process and just work toward the common goal and making the best music we can. It’s never about who is wrong or right, it’s just about the vibe and quality of the product. M: We are constantly inspired by everyday life because inspiration hits at random points. Sometimes we write down ideas for lyrics and build the music around it, or we record notes/sing melodies in a portable recorder, for then revising and elaborate them when we fill we have hit something. We like to keep it a very spontaneous experience: our music and sound become the byproduct of our lives, perceptions, and experiences and we like to keep it brutally honest, both in the lyrics and production. What was the inspiration behind the lyric video for Lights Awn? We had so much fun playing with Lite Brites when we were kids. We could’ve just done a font in the style, but we really wanted the authenticity of the “handcrafted” vibe of the video to be authentic. So we drank a lot of coffee and spent many, many hours hand making every word you see in the video on a Lite Brite. We’re still recovering from acute carpel tunnel syndrome. ;) M: It turned out being almost an ode to a time now gone. We really liked the idea of contraposition between stop-motion with a retro toy in creating the lyrics panels, and digital manipulation in post-editing. Thank you so much for chatting with us! Can you tell us about other upcoming releases? Thank you SO much for having us! We’re so grateful. Next up is “My Time” with the wonderful Victoria Renee, another LA-based singer-songwriter. We have one other project with the works with Victoria, and one already wrapped with the very talented Fia NyXX, then we’re starting a top-secret mission slated for release in late Q1 2020! instagram.com/icons2ashes facebook.com/icons2ashes #BuzzMusic

  • Anna Duboc Delivers A Raw Rendition Of “Stay” Ft. Dakota Lotus

At the young age of 13, Anna Duboc has had the pleasure of singing with Andrea Bocelli, Katy Perry, and Kenny Loggins. With so much success already, Anna Duboc’s debut single “Feel The Glow” was not surprisingly a huge hit. Anna Duboc’s new single “Stay” features Disney star Dakota Lotus from "Coop and Cami Ask the World". Anna Duboc and Dakota Lotus have been performing together since she was 8 years old and have both shared the stage with Kenny Loggins. “Stay” starts off feeling obviously familiar and skillfully crafted, but begins to venture off into its own creatively unique arena. As the listener, you completely forget that this song is a cover while Anna Duboc and Dakota Lotus manage to make it entirely their own. Complete with an emotional concept and a hard-hitting structure, these elements all help bring through more of that classic balance between artistry and professionalism. “Stay” cascades around you like this stunning wave of carefully selected moments, progressing quickly from smooth and dreamlike to rhythmically engaging. “Stay” successfully envelops its audience for the full extent of its lifespan. Anna’s vocals are crisp and flawless, she adds an impressive and refreshing sound to an incredibly produced hit. We love this collaboration of Anna Duboc and Dakota Lotus and can’t wait to hear more. Check out “Stay” here Hey Anna Duboc! Welcome to BuzzMusic! We really appreciated the blend of sounds incorporated in your latest single "Stay". Tell us more about how you came to create this particular song? Rihanna is one of my favorite singers, and I used to play this song on the piano and sing it a lot when I was younger. Dakota Lotus and I performed together this summer with Kenny Loggins and his mom suggested we do a duet. My mom is a music producer and she offered to produce the music and we had a blast recording it. We also got to do a music video for it. Ray Dillman directed it and he is really fun to work with. “Stay" felt packed with true emotion. Do you find it easy to pour your emotions into your music? Are you comfortable with being exposed musically to your listeners? I find it very easy to pour out my emotions into music. When I am doing music everything seems ok. To me, music really is just emotion being displayed through notes and lyrics. I am comfortable with being exposed to musically. We absolutely love your rendition of “Stay”! Why did you choose to do a cover for your second Well, I write songs but I am still in the process of producing the music to go with them. Dakota is the star of "Coop and Cami Ask the World," and we wanted to do a duet to be released close to the season premiere on Oct. 5, so I suggested, "Stay," since it is a duet and a favorite song of mine.  We can imagine your performances would be completely electric, yet intimate. Do you feel that you connect with your listeners when performing? I have been performing since I was 4 and I have been the lead in over 20 musicals, so I am most comfortable expressing myself when I am on stage, for sure. When I am performing, I am at my happiest and more comfortable than I ever been anywhere else. It was a treat to present your music once again here on BuzzMusic! Any parting words for our BuzzMusic readers?! What's next for you? Thanks for listening and supporting my music! I really appreciate the opportunity to be able to share my art with you. I will be completing my original songs and we are going to release the rest of the album in 2020. Meanwhile, I have a Christmas album coming out Oct. 25, 2019, on MVibe music. It is called "Christmas Reimagined," and was produced by Tim Suby who has also produced Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, and Eminem. facebook.com/annadubocofficial instagram.com/annaduboc #BuzzMusic

  • Catching Up With Amanda Sikoral!

Hey Amanda, welcome to BuzzMusic! It's such a pleasure to be chatting with you. How did you originally get started making music? How did you gain the confidence to begin recording and releasing your music? Thank you so much for featuring me! I started making music when I was about 10 years old. I remember in 5th grade I realized that I maybe had a natural talent for singing by taking chorus classes. I started writing songs at the age of 13 and haven't looked back. It's a cathartic process for me and always has been. The very first song I ever wrote is actually going to be on my upcoming EP which I am incredibly excited about. It has taken me a long time to gain the confidence to record my stuff. Sometimes I actually get mad at myself for not doing it sooner, but they say that everything happens for a reason right? I wrote the song "Tonight" last year and just one day decided that it was time to record. I went to a recording studio near my house, laid down the track, and the rest is history. "Other One" blends a beautiful melody with meaningful lyricism. What can you tell us about what this particular release means to you? "Other One" was a really special release for me. I wrote that song when I was a sophomore in high school and when I originally wrote it I thought to myself "wow, this is kind of a good jam!" Years later, (last year), I decided to finally write the chords to it and as I was playing it on my guitar I had an incredible moment. I suddenly became emotional because I felt like this is what I'm supposed to be doing; this is where I'm going to shine. We're so excited about your upcoming EP "SINCE '09"!! How many new tracks can we look forward to? What the main theme this new project holds? I'm so excited about "SINCE '09"!! It's going to be a 4 song EP composed of four songs that I've written since 2009. I'd say the main theme is "moving forward". There's songs about past relationships, but there's also songs about my new relationship which brings me so much creative inspiration. Will your upcoming music video be for your single "Other One"? Or will it be a newer song from the EP? My upcoming music video is actually going to be for a song off the EP titled "Me & You". My brother, Andrew, (a film-maker) is actually directing it! We keep it in the family over at my house! What's the most integral element to your music that you find is always integrated into every track you create? I'd say the most integral element of my music is the realness & relatability. Every track I've ever written and produced has been drawn from a personal experience of mine. I'm real, I'm down to earth, I tell it like it is. I think people can appreciate that when they're listening to music because that's how they can truly connect. If you can connect to the lyrics of one of my songs then I've done something right. It was a pleasure to have you here on BuzzMusic! What do you think is next for you as an artist? Where do you hope to progress within the next couple of years?! Thank you so much for having me! I'm so grateful to be a part of the BuzzMusic creation. What's next for me? Well, I'm in the process of writing more songs. I'm probably going to release a couple singles after the EP release so stay tuned for those. Within the next couple of years I hope to progress where thousands of people are hearing my music and are excited to see me on tour. I'm going to keep working. This is the dream, and although it took me a while to finally realize that this is what I'm meant for, I don't plan on stopping any time soon. Check out "Other One" here and keep up with Amanda Sikoral through Instagram and Facebook! #BuzzMusic
