  • Nina Monroy Makes Spectacular Launch With New Single “Mood Ring”

Nina Monroy is a talented Guatemalan/American singer/songwriter based out of Los Angeles. Exposed to diverse cultural influences growing up, she fuses her expansive knowledge into her heart-felt lyricism and individual sound. She makes her debut with the release of “Mood Ring”, a dreamy alternative pop track that focuses on reclaiming control of your life when trapped in a dependent relationship. Comparable to superstar Billie Eilish, Nina Monroy gives off an ambient and mellow vibe throughout “Mood Ring”. Her overall melancholic tone is authentic and one of a kind. “Mood Ring” is a melodically satisfying and instrumentally unique piece of alternative pop, one that introduces Nina Monroy as having a clear love for this style of music. While there’s a relatable underlying sentiment to the lyrics, this merely helps make the song more widely accessible. Everything from the title to the verses and the structure of the track leans just enough so back and forth between that mainstream vibe and something a little left of the expected. Balance is crucial, and this release from Nina Monroy has mastered it. Listen to “Mood Ring” here and read more with Nina Monroy in our interview! Welcome to BuzzMusic Nina! How would you describe your sound and your approach to songwriting? Out of everything I have experienced during the process of becoming an artist, this is the part I’ve enjoyed the most. Before working with Nicolas Farias, the producer of Mood Ring, I was worried that my love for various genres would make it difficult to find my sound, but with Nico I’ve found the ability to implement my favorite characteristics from each one to create a unique experience. We’ve discovered sounds that we both identify with while still being able to express my own feelings through the music. I love a nostalgic 80’s synth with the modern implementations of 808’s to balance the mellowness with a badass sound. We both love sweet, liberating minor chord songs, bold transitions and dynamic arrangements and you can definitely feel that in Mood Ring. As for my approach to songwriting, I don’t really have a specific way I write because I constantly write down things that go through my mind in my day to day life. That’s the key for me, always having something to write on whether it be my notebook, my phone or a receipt I find at the bottom of my purse. I’ve always been an “in my head” kind of person, like every artist is, but it used to scare me and just give me anxiety. I’ve learned to use the thoughts in my head to benefit me rather than bring me down. I love clever word play and poetry so once I know I have something good going, I get together with Nico and we find a melody that fits with the feelings I express. Who or what would you say inspires you the most, creatively? This also worried me because I find inspiration from so many places and I didn’t know what to focus on. Whether it be art, movies or other musicians, I seem to find little things from each that inspire me to be the best version of an artist I can be. Frank Ocean’s music has always inspired me and gotten me through some tough times in my life. I really look up to him as an artist for pouring his feelings out to make beautiful music. I used to live in Miami before moving to LA so I was heavily exposed to the art world, especially when Art Basel season came along. Over the course of six years living there, I fell in love with so many different artists but Ed Ruscha always stood out for me because of the colors and clever word play he chose to portray in his art. I always felt like Mark Rothko and David Hockney were also sources of inspiration because of the feelings their art cause. Television and film also inspire me very much; I’m currently obsessed with the HBO show Euphoria, I find each character so deep and impacting. Any art form that causes me to feel deeply inspires me to bring out the best of my creative abilities. “Mood Ring” seems to have a deep, personal backstory, about a relationship gone wrong. What was the songwriting process like for this? Do you ever worry about disclosing too much, or is it better to just go with the flow when writing? The song writing process was so beautiful for Mood Ring because I put together various notes I had written down that at the time I had no idea I was coming up with a whole story to tell, I was just putting my thoughts in to words. When I noticed that once gathered the notes I had in to one, I began to create one story out of moments when I was sitting in the car at a car wash, walking though the grocery store or even at a concert. I honestly didn’t even blink at the thought of disclosing too much because the feelings were so fresh and I just wanted to get them out my system. The fact that I am able to do that in a beautiful, artistic way is amazing and just makes me excited rather than afraid of having these feelings. What are your main aspirations as an artist? I want to get to a point where I am able to inspire others to believe in themselves and their own craft, like Frank Ocean. That’s really all I want besides being the best singer I can be and prove to myself that I can do all the things I love. Five months ago, I dreamed of being where I am today and all it took was hard work, dedication and believing in myself, so I just want to keep blowing my own mind. I also want to be able to represent my country, Guatemala, in a positive way because the media only shares the negative parts of a third world country. I’d like to show the world that there are artists that come out of it’s troubled situations. What’s next for you? I feel like I have a lot to give besides music, but for now I’m writing my next few songs and hope to release about three more before this year comes to an end. Honestly, I go through life just living in the moment and don’t have a specific goal I want to reach; I feel like a goal is an end and I just want to keep striking, keep blowing my own mind. • NEW MUSIC VIDEO: TEFO Releases Hot New Visuals For His Single “Decline”

Hailing in Toronto, Canada, TEFO (Truth, Enlightenment, Freedom, Opportunity) is releasing new music consistently. His Afrobeat and EDM sound and powerful energy set him apart in today’s music industry. As a musician and a producer, TEFO is experienced in the music industry. TEFO has toured across Canada and has received international radio play. Previously featured on BuzzMusic, TEFO’s contagious single “Decline” is now matched with an inspiring and confident new music video. The hot new music video features TEFO’s notable confidence and swagger. We see him ignoring and rejecting his exes messages to show that he’s truly done with it. Keeping up with the high energy, Afro-beat track, the “Decline” music video showcases some extremely talented dancers. As if to prove the message of the track further, the gifted dancers express a push and pull movement to show the stresses of a strained relationship. TEFO’s infectious swagger is continuously displayed from beginning to end. We love the relatable and fun content he keeps delivering and can’t wait to see more! “We all go through those rough patches in relationships, and sometimes they don’t last. So it’s all about figuring out your own self worth when other people may not know or realize your own self worth and just saying, “you know what, I’m kinda done, I’mma decline your call, and we’re done.” TEFO Check out the new music video for “Decline” below and read more with TEFO in our interview! Welcome Back TEFO! Congratulations on the “Decline” music video release. What was the main theme you want viewers to take away from this music video? Hey, thanks so much! The “Decline” music video shows myself and my co-star, “Dee” in a very “cat-and-mouse” situation where she is looking for me all day all over the city and I keep declining her call, all while at the brink of almost being seen by her. Then finally we run into each other and exchange words with each other. The main theme that I want viewers to take away from this video is the fact that there will always be those rocky points in life and relationships, and sometimes you just have to decline that call and keep it moving. What was the filming process like? We had a great time filming this video. My amazing choreographer/director Hollywood Jade helped me bring it all to life. We wanted the video to be real but also have some comedic undertones within it, so I think we captured that quite nicely. We spent a day going around to different locations to make it seem like “Dee” was looking for me everywhere. I especially love the shot where she walks right past me on the stairs. How did you select the talented dancers for the video? After deciding on the concept for the video, Hollywood and myself agreed that those two dancers were a great fit for this video. They had just the right vibe for this project. I’m super glad to have Fizz and Sharlan in this video. They really helped bring it to life. How did you create the idea for this video to match the message within “Decline”? Well, since the song itself is all about declining someone’s call, we had to find a way to keep the vibe of the video consistent with the record. We’ve all been in a situation where we have had to decline somebody’s call, so we had to do something that everyone could relate to. In this case, it is set in the city where I’m declining her call and we could bump into each other at any point in time - which we eventually do run into each other. We also made sure to keep the vibe light hearted and a bit comedic, and I’m confident a lot of people will resonate and relate to it. What's next for you? Glad you asked! We have a #DeclineChallenge dropping next, where YOU will be able to learn the moves from the “Decline” music video. Here are the rules: Make a video of yourself dancing to “Decline” Tag @officialTEFO and #DeclineChallengetag your ex! (only if you want to) Stay tuned on all platforms for when the challenge drops! And come find me @officialTEFO on IG, Facebook, and Twitter. I’ll always say Hey! Connect with TEFO on social media www.instagram.com/officialTEFO www.facebook.com/officialTEFO #BuzzMusic

  • Fall In Love With Jasper & Jade With Heart Warming New Track “Marry Me”

Jasper & Jade is a group out of the central coast of California. The soothing sounds of Madeline Flood's vocals accompanied by the energetic progressions of Ernest Pierce' intricate song writing was first showcased at The Wine Seller in Morro Bay. After many open mic nights and writing sessions, they've teamed up with the talents of Sam Flood, Joe Baltazar, John Nowel and Joel Krause to form Jasper & Jade. Together they are bringing this journey to life sharing their feel good grooves, memorable melodies and soul-provoking lyrics throughout California's beautiful central coast. Rooted from a small surf community inspired tone, and a farm to table structure of composition, they've developed a distinct heart warming sound that has come to move music lovers from the wine country and beyond. Jasper & Jade have an organic indie sound to their music and “Marry Me” is fairly spacious in some respects, but it builds up in warmth and detail as it moves along. There are dashes of pop mixed in to add further color to the outer edges of the hook, but aside from this you can feel the raw energy and realness of the entire recording, and that’s always a pleasure to experience. “Marry Me” is a beautiful song, spectacular and conceptual with heartfelt, kind intentions. The chorus of vocals alongside the opening acoustic aura makes for something that feels light and very pretty. As “Marry Me” builds, the scene is set before you, the layers of story-line and instrumentation are added one by one, and slowly but surely the whole thing just surrounds and embraces the listener in a classically enjoyable way. An easy song to love and one that’s headed to the top. We can’t wait to hear more from Jasper & Jade! Check out “Marry Me” here and keep scrolling for our exclusive interview with this mesmerizing collective. In your own words, what does the project “The Fool’s Truth” represent? The Fool’s Truth is our way of giving a decade’s generation of listeners who have been previously subjected to music that ‘the industry’ wants you to hear, rather than giving them something that musicians should always strive for -- breaking away from the conventional.  The music is organic and genuine to who we are. The album strives for everyone to feel something sacred that only belongs to them. We want our lyrics to hold depth, allowing the audience to relate to each individual’s experience in a different way. Our music is meant to be an outlet for those looking for that one thing that speaks to them.  The Fool’s Truth put simply, is for everyone.  The album is a representation of individual expression. How long have you been writing songs and making music together, and how does this project differ from what you’ve done before? In the beginning, Jasper & Jade was first formed as a family band in 2017 with cousins, lead singer Madeline and songwriter and rhythm guitar, Ernest which led to our first studio EP, The Artist -- released in 2018. Eventually, Madeline’s brother Sam was added to the band as lead guitarist, along with Joe on the drums and Joel on bass. The music off of our latest album, The Fool’s Truth is comprised of all original lyrics and chord progressions. Additionally, we wanted to create a more authentic sound, so The Fool's Truth was recorded out of the studio and tracked completely live with drums, guitar, bass, and vocals which came together very naturally. What inspired you to write “Marry Me”? Often times, our lyrics aren’t inspired by one thing, or any event. The song "Marry Me" started out with Ernest plucking around with chord progressions and then the lyrics just started to come out. That’s really how most of our music is written. You get going on a melody and then you have an “ah hah” moment where you know it just works. What comes first when writing together, lyrics or melody? As mentioned before, the writing process usually begins with a melody. Ernest will write the initial lyrics and chord progressions on the acoustic guitar and piano and bring it to the band. Sometimes a song will come together within one session, and other times, it may take days or even weeks to fully develop. How does the songwriting and recording process compare to live performance for you? Songwriting is an awesome experience for the band. We all get to come together each week and be creative and make cool shit that we truly stand behind. When you’re practicing together or messing around in the recording studio is when the magic happens. Performing live allows us to share our music with others in an exciting environment. We get to witness first-hand how our  music makes people feel. Instrumentally, we also incorporate quite a lot of improvisation based on the crowd's reaction, which often inspires us in the moment. There’s no volume or weight, just character and drive, passion and purpose. The rhythm and overall vibe of the track appeals for its clear and authentic connection to classic hip hop. At the same time, certain moments, particularly that hook, help put forth an anthem-like vibe that’s easy to get on board with and later recognize. • Tyler Brooks Fuses Heavy Subject Matter And Tight Grooves With “In Time”

Tyler Brooks is an up-and-coming artist and producer who was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey. His music fuses personal narrative and poetry over dark-toned instrumentals and speaks on issues such as race relations, the gun violence that is rampant in his hometown and the country at large, as well as mental health. He has released two singles thus far, and his debut album, “Blue Midnight”, is expected to be released later in 2019! Stay tuned. Everything about Tyler Brooks’ newest single “In Time” is expertly mixed, sounds incredibly polished, and is well thought out. The track is littered with one irresistible melody after another and is over before you know it. However, what seems like a fairly simple, and carefree introspective song hides a much deeper meaning. What you take away from “In Time” is a powerful feeling that everything in life is on borrowed time. It’s awakening, the music and the lyrics work well together to present this. At the same time, there’s enough detail and story-telling, enough truth from all angles, to make “In Time” a genuine outpouring from an individual who ponders the world regardless of his audience. Everything from the performance to the production works beautifully. Stay on the lookout for more from Tyler Brooks! Check out “In Time” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hey Tyler! Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in the music industry? So music has always been a part of my life. I come from a huge family and almost everyone plays an instrument or sing. My dad especially. He and his siblings used to have a band that would record and travel and he still has all his recording equipment and I remember hearing my dad playing his own music way into the early morning and when I was a kid. I took piano and guitar lessons when I was younger and kept that with me my whole life, but it wasn’t until about two years ago that I got serious about writing and producing and recording my own stuff which is something that’s been extremely fulfilling and enjoyable and something I hope to keep doing forever. Is your track “In Time” related to your real life experiences? Definitely. I think it’s related to everyone’s real life experiences to some extent. For me in creating it, it was really centered around the idea that lessons can be learned and value extracted from experiences that seem bad at the time. It’s like the quote “the past can hurt, but you can either run from it or learn from it.” Can you dive into more details of the lyrics in “In Time”? What does this release represent for you? Yeah, so one part I could definitely go into more detail on is the beginning of the song. “Mama was waiting/ for me to recite/ that poem, couldn’t say it/ looking in her eye/Doubted my vision/ I put down my pen/thought I wasn’t worth it/won’t do that again.”This is an actual memory that for some reason has stuck with me for years, even though it seems not to be anything huge. I wrote a poem for a school contest when I was maybe 11 or 12, and my mom asked me to recite it for her. Even though I thought it was good and I was confident in it while writing it, I remember totally freezing when she asked me to say it out loud and immediately questioning whether it was good enough, believing it wasn’t, and telling her i didn’t want to say it out loud. I remember doubting myself so much, and in the years since and in this song is me realizing that I am good enough, that my work is good enough and always will be if I believe it is. Which I do. What would be your dream venue to perform at? My dream venue? It’s be really far off but I’d say the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. I know a lot of people would say Madison Square Garden given its history in New York, but Barclays was the place where I saw my first concert of that size. I saw J. Cole, one of my favorite artists perform there and it inspired me so much to continue my own work, so getting the opportunity to perform there would be a real full-circle moment. What's next for you? What’s next for me is the release of my first album, Blue Midnight, which I’m hoping will be before the year is up. My singles In Time and Streetlight which are already out will be featured on it. The album will cover a lot of ideas similar to In Time, about leading lessons and self-realization. Connect with Tyler Brooks on social media www.instagram.com/tb32_ www.twitter.com/thetylerbrooks

The seductive delicacy with which the whole thing is delivered works really well. That groove is infectiously satisfying, easy going yet quick to grab hold of you. Afrobeat and pop fans will likely take to “Part of You” in a second. The song’s sentiment is dedicated to a significant other, it celebrates love and adoration in a genuine way. The musical color and the general brightness of the entire soundscape and everything within it reflects these underlying ideas in a fitting manner. It’s a pleasure to hear a song like this come through among today’s musical landscape, you get the feeling ACD is an artist who loves to sing in this way, who loves to make music and be a part of the entertainment and escapism industry. The whole experience of “Part of You” feels like being introduced to a new and natural artist with a great ear for effective melodies, and a writing style that leads with honesty and emotion. Well worth a listen. Check out “Part of You” here and read more below in our chat with ACD! Tell us more about your project “Third-Quarter”? How long was this EP in the making? The Project "Third-Quarter" is my first ever compilation project, I'm excited for it and for the positive feedback I have gotten on it so far. It took me about 5 Months to make it but I didn't release the project until after over a Year of completing all the songs on it. There wasn't any major reason for this decision, but personally, I wanted to release the project when I felt that I was ready to do so. What do the lyrics in “Part of You” represent for you? and how did you come to write it? The lyrics in that song "Part of You" for me was an expression of how I felt about someone particular. "Who is that someone?", you may ask. Well, She is a woman that I was in a Relationship with at the time. Believe it or not, but She was too wonderful and I believe She still is. Everything that song talked about is what She is and how I felt about Her. As soon as I heard the beat, The lyrics just came to my mind based on how I was feeling at the time, I knew I had to make that song about her. She's a Beautiful Soul and She's so amazing! What’s the songwriting process like for you? Where do you begin, and how do you know when a song is truly finished and ready to share? I don't consider myself to be a song writer because I don't write my songs, not on paper and not anywhere either. I compose them in my head, all of the lyrics and I store them in my head. Even when I record, I record every word of a song of memory, I don't sing from a book. I call myself a "Song/Music Composer". My process of composing songs is this way; When I listen to a beat and I think it is dope and I like it, the words/lyrics just forms itself, and all I have to do is to say them as they come to mind. Now if I think I can make any of the lyrics better I of course take my time to do my research and look for how to put something meaningful that relates to the song. I don't rush a song. Never. Music is art, it should be expressed, it should come from the heart. As with all my songs, if you listen closely, you can tell that I sing with emotion. Was there a specific event/person in your life that made you get into music/ start recording your material? Yes! He was the Senior Prefect of my High School, at the time. His name is "Heaven". Really, that's his actual name. There's an interesting story to it too. He also made me do my first ever performance, I didn't have any recorded material at the time so I performed live with live instruments and people loved it and sang along, it was an Amazing experience for me, I was shocked by the positive feedback I got that day. Ever since then I took Music professionally. He saw potential in me and helped me build my confidence. I am grateful to him! What do you hope to achieve as an artist through to the end of 2019? 2019 has been a positive year for me, I'm grateful to God for that. As an upcoming independent artist like myself, I am hoping that through the end of the year I can get more exposure, more recognition and possibly a good deal that can further catapult my Music Career. I just keep working, and being hopeful and enjoy every bit of the journey to Stardom! Connect with ACD on social media www.instagram.com/itsacd_

  • Check Out Cheer Up Club’s Debut Album “Get Physical” Featuring Our Fav Track “Geezer”

Based in Los Angeles, Cheer Up Club balance buoyant melodies with angular, effected guitars and snide, left-field lyrics. Pummeling drums drive fluid bass grooves, while psychedelic synths create splashes of color across their sound. Combining the snarling, energetic hooks of Buzzcocks with the Californian ramblings of Pavement, Cheer Up Club moves fast and hits hard. Comprised of four school friends who bonded over music, Cheer Up Club includes Ethan Goodman (Guitar/Vocals), Nathan Espinoza (Drums), Will Gardner (Bass), and Hannah Stone (Synth). Loud, sarcastic, and fun, Cheer Up Club embrace an “anything goes” approach to songs that playfully skate between the sweet, cynical, and sincere. Their debut album “Get Physical” is colorful and layered, revealing more with each listen. Live, Cheer Up Club brings a party-punk energy to the stage, complete with balloons and the occasional bout of cross dressing. Cheer Up Club promises a good time, at home in headphones and live at your local dive bar. Straight from their debut album “Get Physical”, “Geezer” features a light yet relentless rhythm of the beat and an indie-rock fullness. This gives the piece a whole new level of energy and intensity. It takes the writing from melancholic over towards something much more anthem-like and the kind of classic rock hit you can zone in on from across the field at a festival. There’s a certain warmth to Cheer Up Club’s leading vocals, they feel accessible and equally relatable, so you connect with Ethan’s words all the more realistically. At the same time, that nostalgic aura within “Geezer” is likely to prove comforting and energizing for many listeners who’ve witnessed the progression of mainstream rock. In every case, a really well written song, and a sound that holds close to the Cheer Up Club’s natural desire to play. Nothing fake is needed, the music just does what it needs to do. Check out “Geezer” here and read more with the band below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Where do you imagine the best setting is to experience your track “Geezer”? Bored in a high school Chemistry class, an outdoor screening of the video, or the next Cheer Up Club show! What are the lyrics in “Geezer” about? What do you hope your listeners take away from this track? It’s a fistfight with your psyche after losing a friend you thought you knew better. It was written in about 5 minutes, and consequently, the lyrics are some of the cheesiest and most honest on the album. Hopefully, it’ll put a spotlight on mental health, communication, and remind people to second guess their internal diatribe. If you had to choose just one song in your collection to represent your sound right now, which would you suggest and why? Hmmmmmm…. Probably “Mindblownn.” It’s bouncy, fun, upbeat, and loud, with an emotional break in the bridge. That said, each song on the album covers different elements of our “sound,” so it’d be best for listeners to give it a spin and find out for themselves! What’s the overall theme of your album, “Get Physical”? Side 1 shows the development of a happy, healthy, new relationship. Side 2 sees it all fall apart, with self-destructive attempts to replace it. We didn’t plan on using the album to tell a story, but once we started arranging the tracklist, it became clear that “Get Physical” had an arc bigger than the sum of its parts. What’s next for Cheer Up Club? We can’t wait to hear more! Thanks! We’re pretty excited with the response we’ve received so far. For now, we’re gonna be playing out a lot and trying to get fresh ears on the record. That said, we’ve got a bunch of material queued up for the next album, which is shaping up to be a bit darker, more aggressive, and much groovier. We’re excited for people to hear it! We love what we’re hearing so far and so do AM Dandy’s listeners. As the album “Secret Garden” transitions into the next track, “Modern Urban Midnight” we get a taste of groovy transitions and soundscape. The song explodes into classic rock vibes reminiscent of retro vibes. High energy all the way through, AM Dandy showcases his undeniable skill-set. Next on the album is “Golden Dew”, a light hearted track that bounces through infectious melodies and intricate riffs. With more of a storytelling element, AM Dandy delivers powerful and quirky rhythms. He lays down some tight grooves to move into “Echoes From The Sun”, a tropical vibe laden song. Fresh and ground-breaking sound arrangements in AM Dandy’s track “346 Beacon St Boston” have me blown away. The talented guitarist has inspiring and special ideas when it comes to creating music. AM Dandy’s chemistry with music is evident through the speakers. The next track “Make It Happen” features perfect timing and tempo, everything is flawless and finely-calibrated while the sultry change in tone is a refreshing new twist to an impressive album. Next up is “Earth Sacrifice”, the alluring riffs at the beginning of the track are the perfect intro to a hard hitting rock hit. Dedication to craft in the detail is admirable while the infectious and vivid music fused together is awakening. “Passion Machine” brings us a spectacular Santana intro and moves into AM Dandy’s authentic flare. ”Best Way To Leave Someone” is a melancholic and alluring track made to lure you in and then blow your mind with the soundscapes and rhythmic textures. Layered guitars, ground breaking solos and emotive, soulful energy give this next track on the album a transporting feeling. “I Believe I Can Find You” features sultry and emotional vocals to paint a soundscape in your mind, AM Dandy allows the listener to escape into an alternate reality and live in the music. “Capriccio” brings the listener back to the heavier side of things and hones in AM Dandy’s more metal rock stylings. “Sexplosion” is an incredible launch into a world of sex, psychedelic guitar riffs, and absolute breath-taking rock n roll. “Barockgesang” is another high energy track to conclude this incredible album “Secret Garden”. Bonus tracks on the album include a “Baby, I Love Your Way” cover song, a heart-wrenching ballad, “Eva’s Song” that explodes into AM DAndy’s notable hard-hitting solos with a refreshing flare, and the true conclusion, “Tu, Paradiso”. I highly recommend you give “Secret Garden” a listen for yourself to fully experience every genre-bending layer. AM Dandy brings raw energy and an indefinitely loud testimony to the magic of the underground scene and we can’t wait to see what he delivers next. Listen to “Secret Garden” here and read more in our interview with AM Dandy below!! Hi AM Dandy! Can you start by introducing yourselves to our readers? Hello Buzz Music and all the readers! I am AM Dandy (Alessandro Meynardi), Italian musician, guitar player and composer based in Boston, graduated at Berklee College of Music, "part time" painter and full time art lover and music servant. I think this is the essential to know about me. How did you come up with the band name AM Dandy? AM Dandy actually is my stage name, I usually refer to my band as AM Dandy group, consisting of Jack Schwenke (bass), Euan Leslee (Drums)and Jason Park (Keyboards, Piano, Synth). The name itself is a nickname my friends use to give me back to my home town for the music and clothes extravaganza. But it sounds cool so I decided to keep it! "AM" are just my full name initials. I am proud of my origins, so I decided to keep them too. What’s the overall theme of your album “Secret Garden”? I like to think that people can discover the real essence of AM Dandy, and of Alessandro Meynardi. I didn't really care about genre uniformity or stuff like that. Secret Garden narrates tales of my life, based on experiences I lived in first person or about feelings that constantly flow in my brain. I would be able to tell you specifically what each tune is about. So I would say that the overall theme is my life, there are love inspired songs, songs about home, family, passion, earth, life and so on. What’s the meaning behind your track “I Believe I Can Find You”? How do you want the listener to feel when they hear it? It is basically a love song, dedicated to my beloved partner (and great artist, you should check her out!) Eva Sita. It is intense and meaningful to me (even if the meaning itself is a bit hermetic) and describes the complexity of some moments we lived together. Relationships between artists are the best ones, but they are really intense (lol). The tune has also a particularly deep meaning to me because it is a "family tune": me at guitars, voice and bass; my dad playing Rhodes and my brother Stif (massive Prog drummer, the best I know. You should check him out too!) at flute (I know, very unusual combo drums and flute). Can you tell us what we can anticipate next from you AM Dandy? Do you have any upcoming shows or releases? Sure! Actually in August Secret Garden will be released worldwide, but I am already recording a second album that I will release next year (productions take a lot of time!). I will release a couple of singles at the end of this year too. In the meantime I am producing with a project that I co-founded named Thunderpets (with my brother Stif at drums, the ubiquitous Jack Schwenke on bass and a session synth player) an album that will be realistically released at the end of this year too. Talking about shows we got a little tour in Europe in August and thanks to Berklee some great gigs in US. • Christopher Watson Is Back To Talk About His New Album

Welcome back Christopher! We’re loving your EP “The Sweetest Thing”! What was the main concept behind this project? “The Sweetest Thing” is sort of my spiritual coming out party. I play shows every week and I am always meeting and connecting with people. I kept pouring out my heart and in return God was leading me to grow spiritually. Through this came new songs and new inspiration to share my freedom. What do you hope your fans take away from your music? I made this album because I needed to be true to me. I want people to know Jesus is the reason I sing. Following Him makes my life so much easier. I don’t have to worry about the noise the world makes and I can just be myself. I see music as an expression of ones soul. In my soul, I have so much music I want to get out and I’m only scratching the surface. It wasn’t long since we’ve last featured your music! How do you stay on track to create relevant content so consistently? It’s a constant battle fighting for time to create but if you don’t do it, you’ll find yourself in a rut. I play music in a lot of different scenarios. It keeps me on my toes and keeps me wanting more. What are your thoughts on mainstream music today? The music that’s out today is great you just gotta find it. Some of it is more ‘here for the moment’ but the singers that will last until the next generation are there. Can you dive into details about the lyricism in “Know Myself”? “Know Myself” was one of the easiest and most difficult songs I’ve ever written. I wanted it to sound like a conversation I’m having with the listener, but at the same time I wanted it to be a conversation with myself, reflecting on how I got to where I am today and why I do what I do. Moreover, the chorus “I just wanna know myself, in You,” reflects the theme of the album; life is a journey of faith. So who or what is your faith in? How do you want to know yourself? “A druggie whispered I saved her life with my falsetto. If I’m honest, I’d love to hear me sing.”This moment was one of the realist I ever experienced. I was playing music at a farmers market and a drugged up woman was listening to me sing. Although she was a bit disruptive, I treated her as I would any other stranger who stopped to listen. When I went on break she told me she was on the way to cut herself when she heard me sing and stopped to listen. She said she was sorry because she didn’t have much money. She poured the change out of her purse, and ran off in tears before I could get her name. I wrote the next lyric noting how we never know what immediate and lasting impact we have on those around us. If in a moment, my voice helped that woman, what could your action change?
