  • Solitaire Releases His Track “Chillin Like A Villain”

Solitaire, a Chicago based producer whose sound ranges from the deeply contemplative soul, to the hard-hitting, wallshaking, vibrations of hip-hop, is also the head engineer of Insomniac Studios, where he has been producing for over 10 years. He is also looking to work with new upcoming artists to develop their own signatures sounds. Solitaire released the dopest instrumental track I’ve heard recently. His single, “Chillin Like A Villain” was fire. The bass was just so nasty, aggressive, and hits you with a certain force you can’t forget. The production was just killer. What I personally love about beats is the freedom of expression. The listener can take the beat into any direction they choose, as they’re creating the rhythm, melody, and the lyrics, all catered to their own vision. So for me, I was able to create a mini song in my head that fit perfectly with this slapping beat. Solitaire executed this track effortlessly with slight, muffled vocals, catering in to create a nice dark atmosphere around the beat. As a producer, they have a challenging job as to capturing the listener’s attention without any actual vocals and lyrics, and for me Solitaire had me fully attentive to the entire beat. (Even replayed it a few times) if the right artist got a hold of this beat and Solitaire’s work, he would undoubtedly take off as a producer. He has the right skill set to do so! Listen to “Chillin Like A Villain” here and get to know more about Solitaire below! What are some challenges you face in producing music and how do you overcome these obstacles? A major obstacle for me is staying "current". I'm a backpacker at heart and will readily admit that adjusting to the new sound of hip hop over the years has been a struggle. My team of artists and producers' are in their early to mid 20's so they keep me up to date. Do you have any inspirations? If so who/what and why? I'm actually inspired by films and even certain tv shows. Anything that evokes strong emotions. Have you ever experimented with producing different genres of beats? Or is hip-hop what you’re more comfortable with? I've produced R&B as well. Even tried a few rock productions some years ago but I'm a hip-hop head at heart. If you could include any artist out right now on this track “Chillin Like A Villain”, who would you select and why? Hmmmm, that's a tough one. I'd love to hear Mr. Trotter aka Black Thought over it or any of my beats for that matter. I've been a fan of his flow and wordplay for almost 20yrs (did I just date myself?). I wouldn't kick Phonte or Andre 3000 off the track either What’s next for you Solitaire? Currently I'm working on managing and developing a roster of producers and artists that have projects that are due this summer. Between that and working on the next beat tape I've got my hands full for the rest of the year. • Empire of Gold Pours Emotion Into Latest Single “Dust and Bones”

Growing up predominantly in Illinois, Empire of Gold knew that the music scene was for him once he got his first guitar at the age of 14. Independently learning, this artist actually taught himself all he needed to know in order to curate music, and that type of authenticity is definitely present within his music. Coming from a rough past, Empire of Gold takes his pain and misfortune, and pours it deeply into his lyricism and sound— in my opinion, this curates the best kind of music. There’s such a raw aspect to Empire of Gold’s recent album “The Devil Is In The Details” that you don’t typically find in a lot of alternative post-rock genre. Empire of Gold doesn’t disappoint though, especially not in his latest single. Empire of Gold comes out with “Dust and Bones” off of their newest album “The Devil Is In The Details”. Get ready for a hard-hitting single—this artist contributes some pretty heavy-sounding alternative rock to the increasingly popular category. One aspect of the song I definitely noticed throughout was how unique and personal the lyrical content was—Empire of Gold immerses himself in “Dust and Bones" and shows a more vulnerable side through the lyricism, and crafts together both lyricism with the most fitting tone for the track. In the middle of the song we’re introduced to a guitar solo, and Empire of Gold proves to us that he is not only skillful when it comes to crafting dark lyricism, but he can also play a mean guitar solo. The passion this artist puts into the entire production of the song can be felt—his traumas, personal struggles and aspirations can be heard and understood by listeners quite well, which allows for a more deeper connection between the artist and audience. We loved the vibe the single gave off, and we know you alternative-rock listeners would too. Listen to "Dust and Bones" here and get to know more about Empire of Gold below! Hello Empire of Gold! Tell us about yourself and how you feel curating the music you put out? I'm a singer-songwriter who puts out alt rock/grunge music. I've been putting out records for 5 years now but I feel like I'm just starting to find my true voice and sound. I am a grunge revivalist who believes grunge could make a comeback as the rock that is being put out by major labels is not raw or engaging enough. I stay true to my DIY methods and avoid over-producing my work at all costs. Who would you say were you top three inspirations when curating “Dust and Bones”? I like keeping an open mind to all music to get as much influence as I can, then taking that and adding that raw, grunge sound. For this song specifically, Nirvana was (and usually is) the biggest influence. What kind of advice would you give your past self 5 years ago today? Probably to stop being so stubborn and get help mixing and mastering. I spent years trying to learn the ins and outs of recording, mixing and mastering, which I don't regret, but would have helped my earlier releases to gain more traction. How do you typically write songs? What is the creation process like for you? It always starts with writing the whole song's structure and chords, along with the vocal melody. I always do this on an acoustic guitar. Once I'm satisfied with the song, I come back and write the lyrics. I'll write the theme and lyrics to the song once I get a good feel to the song's emotion and tone. Then when it comes to recording the song, I put on my producer's hat and transform the song into a full production with two guitars, drums and bass. What kind of goals do you have set in place for the rest of 2019? To keep pushing myself with every release. I have a 34 song "B-Sides and Rarities" album that I'll put out sometime this year and then hit the drawing board for the next release. I call my project Empire of Gold as I see myself improving each and every release as if I am truly trying to build an empire. As long as each release is better than the last, I know I'm heading in the right direction. • Tom Loake’s Newest Release “Queen Of Cool” Is A Refreshing Indie/Pop Hit

Tom Loake is an independent, up and coming, singer/songwriter from London who gets his inspirations from the sights and sounds of daily life. He began playing in bands when he was only 12 years old! He’s been a session musician for many other artist but always has had a passion for writing. Loake’s specializes in playing bass guitar but his extensive knowledge in the music industry and ambitious drive led him to pursue a solo career. Tom Loake’s debut EP titled “By Myself” was recently released and the single “Queen Of Cool” is a catchy and addicting hit! “Queen Of Cool” is the most recently released single on the two part EP “By Myself”, the title of the EP is very fitting because it is just that! He wrote/performed everything on the single “Queen Of Cool” (except the keys and drums). It was produced by a friend of his, Max, at his studio in Battersea. The layered instruments and joyful melody prove that Tom Loake’s skill set is unparalleled. The eclectic sound and overall carefree feeling of the track give me serious Fleetwood Mac vibes. Tom sings in the main chorus “She’s the Queen Of Cool but she treats you mean. She’s got a body straight out of a magazine” highlighting the topic of this superficial woman who uses her looks to get her through life. Tom’s vocals are hypnotizing, weightless and flowing. I love his songwriting style and unique melodies. “Queen Of Cool” is a hit that will resonate with anyone that listens to it. I recommend giving “Queen Of Cool” a repetitive listen because it will stick in your head for days! Stay on the look out for this up and comer, Tom Loake. Listen to "Queen Of Cool" here and get to know more about Tom Loake below! Hey Tom! Can you start by telling us more about how your passion for music grew at such a young age? Hey Buzz Music, how’s it going? I grew up in a really musical family, so I’ve been surrounded by music my whole life. Both my sisters and parents play multiple instruments, so our house was full of music growing up. My dad plays in a few bands and I used to go and watch him as a kid. I learned a lot about playing live from watching him and the music he played certainly influence my own style. I got my first bass guitar when I was 12 and immediately formed a band with my friends. At the time we thought we rocked, but looking back I’m not so sure…. We played our first shows when we were about 13/14 years old. I have no idea why the venues didn’t kick us out for being underage at our own shows! I’ve been gigging ever since really, in a number of different bands and as a session musician for a while. I love playing live. There’s something about music that brings people together and to deliver performance that inspires an audience is a really special feeling. There’s nothing quite like it. We love the song “Queen Of Cool”! What was the inspiration behind it? Thanks, glad you like it! It’s quite a special one for me, and it’s the song that the EP is focused around. The music is based around this really odd chord progression on the guitar, which I have to use my thumb to play. If you listen it in isolation it sounds very folky and not like the song at all. I was messing around with it for a few years but could never figure out what to do with it. I actually wrote the lyrics whilst I was on a flight back from Canada. I’d broken up with my girlfriend and was in quite a tough spot. I clearly looked rough because the cabin crew upgraded me to First Class for free (thanks British Airways!). My phone was dead, so I wrote the lyrics on the back of the in-flight menu. I’ve still got the menu at home somewhere… Who are your biggest musical influences? Growing up I listened to a lot of blues and rock (Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zep, Allman Brothers), but my music taste now is very varied. I listen to a lot of Indie and acoustic music. Current favourite artists include: Sam Fender, War On Drugs, and The Hunna. What was the most challenging aspect of writing your EP “By Myself”? I think hardest part was capturing the vibe I wanted on the recording. I played almost every instrument (except drums), so a lot of layering was required to build the songs up. The opening track “Chasing Tails” starts with a crowd singing, so I had to sing the same part about 20 times at three different pitches! I worked with my friend Max, who produced the EP and his studio experience was crucial in pulling everything together. We had great fun and there were certainly some comedy moments. Can we expect more releases or a larger EP in the near future? The rest of the EP is out in June, so I’m focusing on the release of that for now. I’m also playing a few gigs this summer so I won’t be back recording until the autumn. Some really cool tunes in the pipeline so watch this space! • Eclectic Pop Artist Max Restaino Tells It Like It Is In Single “Messed It Up”

Multi-talented, confident, and unique are a few words to describe the absolute pop powerhouse Max Restaino from London, UK. Singer/songwriter extraordinaire, he released his debut album titled “The Time It Takes” in 2017 and since then has been keeping his passion for music growing and thriving. Max has worked with several notable artists and has performed countless BBC Radio shows. Max Restaino’s newest single “Messed It Up” is proof of his artistry and creative mind. Max is skilled at playing the sax, piano, guitar, harmonica and accordion. Most of these instruments are featured on the self-produced track, “Messed It Up”. The saxophone and keys in the beginning of the song are such a alluring intro to a pop song. His style is unlike anything I’ve heard before but it’s undeniably catchy. “Messed It Up” proceeds to explode into Max’s deliberate and smooth vocals. His lyricism and ear for melodious lyrical arrangements is admirable. “I know where I belong ‘cause something feels so wrong” is a lyric that resonates with me and I’d love to hear more about the meaning and feeling behind this track. I love the piano breaks with just Max’s vocals that really highlight his range and talent. “Messed It Up” has previously been proclaimed “an absolute summer smash” and it’s not hard to see why. Max Restaino can relate to his listeners and fans effortlessly. He’s an all around accomplished artist and we can’t wait to see what he does next! I highly recommend you check out Max Restaino’s newest single “Messed It Up” Listen to "Messed It Up" here and get to know more about Max Restaino below! Can you start by telling our readers more about your upbringing into music? My Italian grandmother bought an Italian folk accordion for my brother's birthday. He wasn't interested in it and left it laying around the house. I was only 5 years of age at the time and thought the instrument was interesting to play with. I was somehow able to play it and was soon listening to my grandmother's old Italian folk cassettes and transferring what I was hearing from the music to the accordion. By the time is was nine, I was playing live on TV, Radio and stage. BBC TV- Look North News https://youtu.be/icSYgVMrEfo How do you feed your passion for music daily? I am a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer so I find there are always sessions, gigs, rehearsals & producing to be done. I am always playing music at some capacity every day, so in a sense my passion for music is always being fulfilled. If I am in a creative mood and just want to play, I'll usually get on the piano or pick up a guitar and just play around with it, but if a great chorus or melody comes out, then it becomes work. I have to try and come up with lyrics & start working on it. I do miss having time to just jam for the fun of it, but performing live makes up for it. What are some challenges you’ve faced as an up and coming artist and how have you overcome them? The most challenging part about being a musician for me personally is writing lyrics. I find lyrics the most challenging part because I am so critical of my own work. Also, as with all art, every piece of music you write & produce, perform or sell, is only as good as your last job, so if you don't carry on creating, it's game over unless you are in a position to be commissioned to write music- but may be that comes with its own stresses and pressures so I'm probably better off being a free agent. What would be your dream collaboration? Why? My dream collaboration would be to work with Jeff Lynne of ELO. He was alway my inspiration growing up and since he is very similar to me in that he is a multi-instrumentalist, a producer and also writes his music, I think we would have very similar outlooks in the studio. It would be interesting to see what we could create in a collaboration and it would be great to have that opportunity to find out. What’s the meaning behind “Messed It Up”?  What was the writing process like? 'Messed It Up' came from a night out with a group of mates. We were tormenting a mate, singing stupid jokes to him about his constant stream of girlfriends, when the 'Messed It Up' melody came out. I soon as I got into the studio I put the melody down and wrote lyrics. I wrote them from the other person's perspective, because I wanted the song to explore how it feels to be dating someone who is constantly messing up. I had to work on the song and lyrics to make them relevant to me. The song now has absolutely no connection to my mate what so ever. It is a totally fictional scenario. I've never done a rap in any of my songs before and everyone who heard to demo said I'd never get away with it. I'm not a rapper and have no intensions of trying to become one, I just wanted to put something different in the song. I always try to do something different in all my songs, because I don't want them to all sound the same. The rap just seemed to fit the theme and it was fun to do. It's always great to see fans singing the lyrics. Connect with Max Restaino on social media www.instagram.com/max_restaino www.twitter.com/maxmusiccouk www.facebook.com/maxrestainomusic

  • Hailey Livingston Released Her Single “Porcupine Pleasures” An Incredible Story!

Hailey Livingston is a 26 year old artist, born and raised in L.A. highly passionate about the music industry, she quit her job working as an Emergency Dispatcher, saving lives just 3 years ago, to pursue her music endeavours. In 2017 she began performing poetry at Da Poetry Lounge on Fairfax and often expressed her frustrations with men and dating. After going through a complicated romantic relationship she began writing her first album "CLAP BACK". Hailey Livingston released her single titled “Porcupine Pleasures” featuring the very talented rapper, Alexander Watson, who adds his male perspective on this lyrical masterpiece. This record comes from the mesmerizing album, “Clap Back” , in which gives you the themes of love, relationships, disappointments, power dynamics, and finding the silver lining. “Porcupine Pleasures” was a beautiful piece. It begins with Hailey singing her version of how she believes the story is going. She gives an authentic point of view from a woman's true emotion. This led to Alexander delivering an addicting rap, giving a light-hearted battle of the sexes, yet instead of competing against each other, and separating the stories, they intertwine. This unique fusion created a gorgeous dimension to the record. “Porcupine Pleasures” is a song many people can relate themselves to. It was strategically written, and meticulously arranged, and we loved every bit of it. Hailey Livingston created an album that is so thought-provoking, and profoundly beautiful, where records like “Porcupine Pleasures” fits right in smoothly like the connection of a puzzle piece. Listen to "Porcupine Pleasures" here and get to know more about Hailey Livingston below! Hi Hailey! It's great to chat with you. Tell us about the challenges you’ve faced while creating “Porcupine Pleasure” ? The process of creating “PORCUPINE PLEASURE” definitely took the longest out of any of the song off my album. I initially wrote the song and recorded it solo with my producer Brendan Moore AKA Ferguson. After finishing and recording the entire album “CLAP BACK” I decided I wanted a rap verse on “PORCUPINE PLEASURES”. The subject matter of my whole album is my true experience of falling in love with someone and things not working out. Every song helped me heal and get my frustrations about the situation out in a healthy artistic way. I had planned for a rapper from Brooklyn NY to do the verse and we had everything ready to go but I had a change of heart at the last minute. I decided that I wanted the person who I was actually talking about on the album to have his perspective and words represented as well so I reached out to Alexander Watson to speak his side. I didn’t want some random rapper speaking on a situation that was true in my life and wanted to give him the opportunity to speak his truth since I had spoken mine. It also just so happens that Alexander Watson is an incredibly talented artist. We knocked out his verse in two studio sessions and shot the music video in 4 hours. It was a very interesting but good experience putting the past aside to create with the actual person that I was venting about on the album. I consider him a dear friend and am very glad we got to work together. I wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way. “PORCUPINE PLEASURES” ended up being one of my favorite songs on the album and my favorite music videos that we made for the project. Knowing that your album “CLAP BACK” has a meaning behind it all, how does Porcupine Pleasure fit into the storyline? Before making music I was an actress and wrote screenplays. I wanted the album to be formatted like a script. The album is a complete story of my real experience during that time in my life. On the first song “MEET CUTE” I talk about that instant connection when you first meet someone special. In film and TV the term meet-cute is a scene in which a future romantic couple meets for the first time. Typically a staple of all romantic films. The meet-cute frequently leads to a humorous clash of personalities or a wild situation that ultimately brings the two characters together. The second song on the album is “PORCUPINE PLEASURES”, where I introduce the two characters and the conflict begins between them. The middle portion of the album is the climax where I vent and let it all out expressing my frustrations and sadness with being let down not just by this one man but also by all the others who came before. I was just plain sick and tired of BS and nothing was going to hold me back from speaking my mind. The 7th song on the album is “DANGEROUS” where Alexander Watson becomes the main focus lyrically and I am featured reversing the leading roles. Next in “WINDOWS” I talk about realizing how special it is in life to meet someone who can see into your soul, however sometimes you have to let that go and move forward. The 2nd to last song, “ELEGY” is a tribute to my amazing grandpa Ben. For the majority of the album I am extremely angry with men and express it with little sympathy but after writing so much about being unhappy with men I realized that my favorite person on this planet is a man, my grandpa who deserves nothing but respect. Lastly is “MORNING GLORY”, an upbeat song about finding yourself again and just having a good ass day with or without a man. I personally grew so much throughout the process of writing each song and feel very much at peace with how everything turned out. The anger and sadness experienced when your heart is broken can be so overwhelming and negative but this project helped me forgive and create something beautiful from the mess. It was a true refection of my personal experience in the form of music and visuals. In what ways do the title of the song, reflect its meaning? The title of the song “PORCUPINE PLEASURES” was originally “PORCUPINE PLEASURES & STORMY WEATHER” but the producer and I found ourselves just calling it “PORCUPINE PLEASURES” every time we worked on it in the studio so we decided to shorten it. My friends call me Stormy or Storm as a nickname so when I say the lyric “This is Stormy weather”, I am referencing my nickname and also saying that this is a rough patch in a relationship. Every song title on the album has a meaning behind it but for this one in particular I was focusing on the contrast of pain and pleasure that is often involved in love and relationships. A porcupine is sharp and dangerous which I thought was very fitting. I was also inspired by animals for 3 different song titles on the album. “PORCUPINE PLEASURES”, “CRICKETS”, and “CHEETAHS”. In the music video for “PORCUPINE PLEASURES” I wore over 100 real porcupine quills in my hair for one of the shots and they are definitely sharp and dangerous. I poked myself a few times while shooting. In both my lyrics and Alexander Watson’s we express our experiences with pleasure and pain. We mixed the blissful feelings with the reality of disagreements and dissapointments. Out of all the songs off your album, which is your personal favorite and why? I’m not just saying this because “PORCUPINE PLEASURES” is the main focus of this review but it is genuinely one of my favorite songs on the album. It was a very personal track to me and it turned out exactly how I imagined it in my head. Also shooting the video was a lot of fun and a day I will never forget. It all starts with the heart of the song which in my opinion is the beat. I created all the beats for my album myself and was entranced by the sounds immediately. I could just listen to the music with no vocals on repeat but also love what we created lyrically for the track. It felt like the puzzle piece to the album and really completed my vision for the project. Alexander Watson’s contributions to “PORCUPINE PLEASURES” and “DANGEROUS” gave the album a different dynamic other than just a heart broken girl venting about men for 11 songs. Having a man included on the project really made it whole. What’s next for you, Hailey? I feel so optimistic for the future and feel very inspired to create more music. My initial concept for “CLAP BACK” was to do a full visual album with a music video for every song. I ended up making 5 music videos that I produced/directed and edited myself. The videos are all now on YouTube and I hope for my next project that I am able to make a full visual album. I have always loved film and have created many short film over the years. In 2017 I made a short film involving my poetry called “TICK TOCK” that was featured in a few film festivals in LA. I am also excited to collaborate with more artist and evolve my sound. I don’t want to repeat myself so I am always looking for new ways to grow as an artist. I am very excited to do some live shows this summer. Being on stage is such a different experience than being in the studio and I feel very free in that space. I just can’t wait to create more because every time I do I grow immensely as a person and that is the overall goal. To grow as a person using art. • Help End The Stigma With Caitlin King & Her Song “Like I Died”

Originating from Dallas, Texas, Caitlin Kelly King is a powerful and moving artist who provides a strong and beautiful message behind every song that she creates. Caitlin uses music as a platform to share her story of her personal struggle with mental health. Caitlin’s goal is to spark awareness of mental health through her music, as well as to unite understanding about it between those who experience it day to day, and those who don’t. Her end goal is to help the people who are struggling to find their way and obtain peace of mind. She has been perfecting her craft since the age of five and began playing the piano at 12. She then joined a music conservatory where she met some of her band members that she still makes music with today. “Like I Died” is Caitlin’s first single that was released on May 3rd, 2019. The lyrics are extremely raw, real, and honest. In this song Caitlin is very open about her struggle with mental health. In “Like I Died” she sings with grace, “I’m not a very strong person, though I’ve held it together till here, and as these thoughts just worsen, I can’t deny or hide my fear.” Even though she verbally states that she is “not a very strong person” her action of having the strength to talk about and share her experience with depression indicates that she is in fact resilient in her battle. This song is incredibly important because it is diminishing the stigma of mental health, which is much needed in today’s society, and will hopefully encourage others to be open about their experiences too. This song gives comfort to anyone enduring a hardship in life because Caitlin makes you feel as if she is there with you, experiencing a similar situation, and guiding you through it. Please go support Caitlin King and her music to help end the stigma of mental health! Listen to "Like I Died" here, and don't forget to scroll below for Caitlin's personalized interview! Thank you for sharing your story Caitlin, it is so moving and powerful. Can you tell our readers more about yourself and your mission? Of course. I come from a family of people who struggle greatly with mental health issues. My grandmother even described her life as a struggle between her love for her family, her love for her work, and her desire to die. I watched her and many others in my family fight to get through every day, and I really wanted to help them but didn't know how. As I grew older, I started to develop my own demons, and I had to learn how to manage them and keep moving forward in life. I've come to find that the best thing you can do for yourself is to talk to someone who can help, or at least set you up with the right people. It just so happens to be one of the hardest things you can do because it's hard to get the courage to speak about such personal issues, and it's even harder to find receptive people. I feel like if we could get people to come together and share our experiences, we could learn to see mental health issues not as weaknesses, but as obstacles that must be navigated through. Maybe we could also see that it's easier to get through these things together. Out of all the messages in your song “Like I Died”, what is the most important thing that you want your listeners to take from the song? The message of this song is kind of a hidden one. “Like I Died” was written to take you to that feeling that most of us spend our lives trying to avoid. So, in a way, it was written to sort of describe the emotions that encompass you when you're in that state of such deep pain. A lot of us try to run from these feelings when they bubble up, but it's important to sit with your pain and really experience the situation because it will make you stronger. The more hidden message is in the line, "nothing is very clear when you're wrapped up in fear." This is something that every human-being has experienced. Sometimes the pain and confusion will immobilize and blind you, but it's really important to try and find a way to separate yourself from the situation and evaluate it. When I ran from my pain, I found it never went away. Instead, it seemed to wait until the most inconvenient time and would come back stronger than ever. I had to find a way to separate myself from the issue and figure out what happened, why it happened, why I feel this way, and what I need to do in order to move on from this moment. Only then was I able to truly move on. What was the writing process like for “Like I Died”? What were your biggest challenges and how did you overcome them? My writing process has always been kind of weird. The really good songs come easily, and the bad ones are just painful to write. This one was an easy write. I started writing the lyrics and it just kind of felt like writing a conversation with a person that I couldn't find the strength to have. It was really therapeutic for me to get these emotions out of my head, and to turn all the ugly pain into a really pretty song. Who are your biggest musical inspirations? My biggest musical inspirations are some of the greats like Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, and Elliott Smith. What is your next project for 2019? My band has started recording our first album! Stay tuned for updates on that at @caitlin.kelly.king on Instagram, and Caitlin Kelly King on Facebook and Spotify. • Alexandra Fresquez Delivers In Her Powerful Pop Ballad "Flame"

It is often said that music allows us to find and lose ourselves at the same time , and this popular saying is truly befitting of the exquisitely talented Alexandra Fresquez. Originally from Roswell, New Mexico, Alexandra’s timid demeanor never impelled her to pursue a professional singing career despite her love for music. It took relocating to Los Angeles and gentle yet earnest nudges from her close friends to finally unleash the vocal goddess in this demure soul. Still, the most insurmountable of battles came for Alexandra when she had to move back to New Mexico to care for her ailing mother who eventually succumbed to breast cancer in October of last year. According to the songstress, her mother was a radiant light to all who knew her, and it was her faith and unfailingly optimistic attitude -right to the very end of her journey- that inspired Alexandra’s powerful ballad “Flame”. From the meaningfully dramatic keys to her soaring falsetto in the chorus, one cannot help but marvel at Alexandra’s adept ability to channel such profound sadness into a melodious masterpiece. She mourns yet extols her mother’s gallant battle with cancer and still manages to make the song relatable. Like her mother, she advises the listener to never let anyone or anything out your flame- keep burning even when adversity wages a war that , initially, seems unbeatable. In “Flame” , Alexandra loses her sanity while simultaneously finding her peace- this song is truly an embodiment of the wondrous effects of music. Check out "Flame" here, as well as Alexandra's exclusive interview below! Alexandra, welcome. It has been an absolute pleasure speaking with you. Now tell me who is Alexandra Fresquez? It is a pleasure speaking with you as well! I am originally from Roswell NM. I moved to LA about 5 years ago, never planning to pursue music, but through circumstance, and my friends really pushing me to go for it, I started working on my own projects, and absolutely love doing it. I was always very shy growing up, and even though it was my dream, I never thought I would actually pursue it. I recently moved back to New Mexico for a while to be closer to my family, when my mom started to get more sick, however I am continuing to do music here, and I also travel back and forth to work on it. Your mother’s bout with cancer inspired “Flame”. How has writing this powerful song helped you with the grieving and healing process since her passing? How do you want “Flame” to help your listeners? I really think it's been great, because it's a way to honor her, and I hope that this song can help others, so that in turn she is still continuing to help others, even though she is no longer physically here with us. I really think that she was a light to so many people, and she gave others so much hope, and strength in how she carried herself. I not once heard her complain, and she had such strong faith. I wanted to do a song that represented her attitude about caner, in that, whatever you may be going through, even though it is tearing you down, to never let it put out your flame. I also wanted it to have another meaning, so that it can be relatable to everyone. The song sounds like it's about this terrible person that you're in a relationship with, but really that person or situation I'm referring to is cancer. Whatever it means to someone, I really hope it helps give them strength. You have a twin sister who also sings; it’s clear that you must have had a strong musical upbringing. Who were some of your favourite singers growing up ,and how have they influenced your art? My absolute favorite is Christina Aguilera, I think she is amazing and I have so much respect for her, and really look up to her. I am also in love with Billie Eilish, I just think her songs are so original, and different, and I would love to incorporate some of her style into my future songs. A portion of the proceeds from “Flame” will be going to breast cancer research, that is a commendable decision. How do you believe more artists can use their platform to bring awareness to global issues? I really think it's a great way to give back, and bring attention to issues that need to be brought forward. I plan on doing something similar with my new song I'm working on in June. I want to do it for something that's very close to my heart, which is mental illness/homelessness. I think it's an issue that needs much more attention and focus, than it currently has. Finally, what can we expect from Alexandra Fresquez in the near future? I will be working on a new song with Andrew Gomez, this next month. I'm really excited about it, and can't wait to see how it turns out. I hope everyone likes it! I will post updates on my social media. Keep updated on the latest with Alexandra via the artists Instagram! #BuzzMusic

  • “Boys On Bikes” By Sierra Savage Is Defining A New Genre In Pop

Southern California native Sierra Savage is a ‘young pup’ in the music industry and is coining the genre ‘heroin pop’ meaning she tries to make you float with the sound of her voice. Curating a raspy voice and raw unfiltered lyrics standing out before her messy hair and big eyes, Sierra is already hitting the ground running having only just started performing in August, and has released a few singles, done some podcasts/radio interviews, and sold out a few shows. Sierra works closely with producers Aj Jenkins and Drew Bland who are creating two separate EP’s with her, one being ‘Boys on Bikes’ that was created with Drew out of pure fun and the pair just really wanting to make a power trash pop track. Haunting, twisty and lively are just some of the ways to describe “Boys on Bikes”. What a way to define a new genre with the addicting tones and sensual vocals that are found in this track that is so alluring. The overall style of this song and the vocals reminds me of older Lady Gaga songs that have that unique and eerie sound that draws audiences in for a closer listen. Filled with descriptive lyrics, “Boys on Bikes” gives you a real picture of the kind of bike she’s fond of, along with the intensity of passion and love that is being portrayed throughout the track. I love the soft yet raspy tone of Sierra’s voice mixed with different vocalized techniques such as the lower registered sections to emphasize “I like my boys on bikes” and each different vocal tone gives “Boys on Bikes” finesse and depth. I can picture this song being played at multiple dance clubs, getting the room jumping with the addicting beats and tons of people singing along to the catchy lyrics. If you love eerie, out there songs that make you feel like you aren’t so different, but yet a unique creation, then this is a song for you! Give a listen to "Boys on Bikes" here, and continue reading for Sierra's exclusive interview! Hey Sierra! What a fantastic voice you have! Can you tell us a bit more about yourself? Hey thanks! Well, I’ve just kinda started this crazy journey in August of last year. I use to work at this bar called The Red Door where they had a music night every Monday. My boss, who ran the event, had opened for Elton John and Prince back in his day and knew I kinda sang, He suggested I go up there and sing something, so I messed around with that, singing the usual Valerie and Ain't No Sunshine after a shift. It wasn't until people started coming up to me after and asking yo, why aren't you doing this? That I began to take it seriously. I've always grown up performing, doing one crazy thing or another like stilt walking or burlesque dancing. I like picking random things ups and getting into them and moving onto the next once I'm bored. Music is something I just haven't gotten sick of yet, like in the slightest. So, I'm just gonna keep doing that cuz I'm really happy. What draws you to write new music and how did you first find your passion for song writing? I guess I wouldn't call it a draw as much as it is a need. A majority of the time when I'm going through something, writing and singing about it is what helps. My passion for song writing definitely comes from seeing my inspirations and favorites create such a cathartic experience and project that it's always motivating to want to do the same. At the same time, I'm starting to play with the concept of "what would it be like to write in the mind space of so-and-so," which is kinda of where Boys on Bikes stemmed from. it's a total 360 degrees from my first two tracks Man of the Game and L.Aimless. What is the meaning behind “Boys on Bikes”? Boys on Bikes is pretty on the surface fun when it comes to the meaning haha. This track is super inspired by Gaga and I love that her stuff is very sexually driven and bold yet simple. But, I definitely like Boys on/with Bikes. If I were with friends sitting at a restaurant and a bike rode by, I use to chase after it (which has happened). Or at a stop light in my car and a bike pulled up next to me, I'd definitely roll the window down and tell them to pull over. I love adrenaline rushes and usually men with bikes love to finesse, which I'm also a fan of in a man. How did you create such a unique song and what does your creative process look like? Boys on Bikes was a super random and fun track my producer Drew and I were playing with. We just really wanted to make a power pop trash track.  I really wish I had a set and stone process haha, but it’s definitely different every time. My first two songs  came to fruition a few years ago when I didn't have a radio in my car and was singing randomness to myself on the long drives. I'd throw up my voice memo's or notes and record. A genius musician friend of mine listened to them and kinda arranged it for me. I've also been able to just write to something a producer has sent me or what we've created from scratch, it's always different. What’s next for you in 2019? I'm currently working on my first EP right now with my producer Aj Jenkins, who is such a phenomenon and I'm incredibly lucky to have in my corner. I'm also working on a visual for my first single L.Aimless with Allen Falcon at Birdcage Studios along with some side projects like YouTube covers and other collabs. I'd like to take a break on shows just to focus on finishing the EP but if I'm offered, then I'm definitely going to do it. Catch Sierra Savage via her Instagram and Twitter. #BuzzMusic

Listen to "Dance Floor" here and get to know more about Jindi below! Knowing you’re influenced by variations of different music, do you have any specific artists who you look up to? If so, who and why!? Growing up I was surrounded by 90’s Rnb and hip hop music, There was a lot of Sudanese cultural music around me aswell. coming from a Sudanese family and listening to the beautiful sounds of “Mohammed wardi” who was one of the pioneers of the music in Sudan and other Sudanese-based funk bands Like the scorpions and Kamal Keila. When I formed my first band I got to know more about the essence of  R&b ,Funk ,Soul and Reggae music by listening to the likes of Stevie Wonder , James brown and the famous flames , Kool&TheGang , Bob Marley and the wailers. Their showmanship and level of artistry was something that I had always admired as listener or an artist. The combination of listening to all these different styles in music has opened up my mind to so many genres that plays a huge role in the songs i put out today. For some, it might be challenging to dictate a lyrical meaning in a fun party song like “Dance Floor”, how would you interpret the theme behind this record for our readers!? The title “Dance floor” came about an incident that happened to me, few years back. I was at this 12 hour concert and by the end of the night I was so exhausted, ready to head home, I turn around and I see this girl standing alone in the middle of the crowd, And You can hear it in the record “Step in to the party and she is all alone , pretty little baby moving Solo”. And just like the movies “Just one Look”, and we started dancing  , it was the last song of the night , I didn’t get a chance to get her number and that was it for the night. A Couple of years later this incident came to my mind, as soon as I heard the beat, it was just right for me to talk about it and have the title of the track as  “Dance Floor” referring to how everything went down on the “Dance Floor” , With that being the first line I came up with when writing the song. What was your favorite moment in creating “Dance Floor”  and why? The whole process of working on the track has been like a one big party , I was fortunate enough to work with different creatives from different parts of the world, each one of them added something different to this track , from the talk box to the signature baseline that has some touches from the 80's funk music, it just felt so good working on it. I remember the first time “Rayan Bailouni” played me the beat and these ideas were just flowing around , we both started jumping around the studio. ”Dance Floor” was Produced , Mixed & Mastered by Mohammed Rayan Bailouni , and Co-produced By Ekemini Obong and Hiran Benton. What is the perfect environment for you to listen to your own record? I like to sit by the beach or a midnight cruise. What’s next for you? I’m currently working on my first Ep. I’ve released two singles from the Ep so far “Running (On My Mind )” and “Dance Floor”. I've got a couple of shows in Dubai this summer and some performances around the region. COACHELLA!!!!
