- Neomi Has Our Attention With Her Latest Single “Tables”
As an independent artist Neomi has been able to explore and build her alternative-pop sound. Her singles “Body On Body” and “Tables” gives the world a taste of what this 20 year old Montreal, Canada native has been putting together in the studio. With more singles to come in 2019 and an album on the way, it is safe to say that this is just the beginning of Neomi’s career in music. Eager to hear what she has to offer in her latest release “Tables”. Oh my! Is right. Neomi has a sound that's a cross between Ariana Grande, Alina Baraz, and a splash of Sia! What a combination of sounds. Lyrically and musically her range is pleasant to the senses. I definitely hear the alternative-pop and it works so well for her. The production of the song itself is a steady build up. Gives you a little then backs back down. It is a dope technique and if down well sounds amazing. “Tables” gives a great and new sound to our readers! Listen to “Tables” here and get to know Neomi in our interview below! We got to chat with her about her career, the release of "Tables", upcoming music & more! Hi Neomi! If you could, introduce yourself to our readers! Hi! I'm Neomi, I'm a 20 year old Montreal born and raised pop singer/songwriter. I have recently released two singles and I'm just starting my journey and career in the music world. How long have you been involved in music? I've been involved in music pretty much my entire life. From a young age, I was in piano lessons, vocals lessons, and involved in school productions. I always loved performing and had a deep passion for music. What made you decide music was that thing for you? I don't think I ever really decided, I feel like it was something that I always just knew from a super young age. At age 4 or 5 I would say "yeah, I want to be a singer, I want to be an artist, that's what I want to do to." I never really doubted it, it was something that I always intrinsically knew. Could you give us a back story on “Tables”? Tables was written about an on-again off-again kind of relationship where we could never find a middle ground. One person always had to have the upper hand. I was trying to figure out how to put it into words, how to describe the situation and the idea of Tables always turning came to me. I found that it described the power struggle of the relationship perfectly. What were some challenges you faced in the creation process of "Tables" I feel like there weren't any challenges in the making of this particular song. In other songs that I've worked on, I've had trouble deciding things like the tempo or the type of instruments to use or finding the right words, but with Tables, this song is the one that came the most easily to me and to my producer Kevin Jardine. We got in the studio, it was actually the first song we ever worked on together, and we finished the rough version of it in a day or two. The creation was such a natural progression and it just flowed. Favorite lyric from the song and why? My favourite lyric from the song is "my soul is broken, fixed again, broken". I feel like that really captures the emotion that I was feeling during that time. It was just a rollercoaster, feeling on top of the world, and then feeling shattered. That lyric captures the unstable position that I was in within the relationship. What's next for you in 2019! I have about 10 songs recorded and we're putting together either an album an EP or something of the sort. I'm excited to do a lot of live performances and keep writing music and creating new things. I'm still learning to manoeuvre my way through the music world which is new and exciting. I'm self-managed right now so hopefully in 2019 I can start working with a great agent or a label, but if not, I can keep learning through trial and error. I'm excited to connect with people through music and I hope that I'm able to reach a lot of people with it. This twenty-six year old artist is ready to hit the music scene with his melodic harmonies and smooth lyrics. Martin Jr. has finally graced us with his debut release “Alive”. This song goes really hard! I can totally hear it in today’s Hip Hop and R&B radio rotation. Martin Jr. has a sound similar to a blend of Ty Dolla $ign and his own new vibe that he brings to the table. "Alive" is one of those songs you can sit around listening to it on repeat, no matter the occasion, Martin Jr. has you covered. "Alive" has an into that will entice you, we loved the song opening up into guitar. It lulls you into the song, getting you fully ready for the beat to drop. I really appreciate Martin Jr.'s lyricism throughout "Alive". It’s makes you want to love the life you live with it’s catchy hook. Sometimes we all take life, people and the things we have for granted. A nice reminder to take a step back and remember everything we have, even the little things we don't tend to appreciate on the daily. Martin Jr.'s vocal layers of sound are one of my favorite things about the R&B sound and he uses this well. Two big thumbs up for “Alive” - we can't wait to hear what's next! Listen to "Alive" here --- Follow Martin Jr. on social media for all new music and releases! Care to introduce yourself to our readers? Peace. I’m Martin JR. Can you give us a brief history of your musical career? I had a passion for music since I was 6 years old. Started out beat boxing then began to rap at the age of 8. I released a few early demos through out the years for local audiences in my hometown and have always gotten cool responses back. How did you come up with your stage name? Is there a meaning behind it? Yeah my stage name is actually apart of my real name. I’m a Jr and my father is a Sr. I always felt best keeping my real name and remaining authentic to myself as an artist. Do you write your own music? Can you tell us a bit about your writing style? I write all of my music. Usually I choose an instrumental that speaks to me. Then I come up with the lyrics and melody for the chorus, shortly after I begin to write my verses. We’re really into your new song Alive! Can you tell us a bit about it? Thank you appreciate it. Alive is my new single I released in January 2019. Produced by KontraBandz a really dope producer. It’s just one of those songs to chill to or just vibe out with and have fun. Where did the inspiration behind the song come from? The inspiration just comes from being alive in the moment and just appreciating life as it is. While also fantasizing on the successes that we hope for in the future. What’s next for you? I plan on releasing more music and videos this year and also continuing to keep building a genuine relationship with music lovers across the world. - Asha's “Exit Strategy” Is The Dance Record You Need In Your Life!
Asha is a Brooklyn-based one-woman production. She's a songwriter, composer, producer and performer who has been in the New York scene for years and hopes to inspire more girls to get involved in the behind the scenes aspects of music. More female producers opening doors for more female producers. In her latest release, she is reimagining and remixing songs from her EP Mercy released last October while she is in process of finishing her first album. Asha delivers a multi-faceted hit record “Exit Strategy”. The whispering and sensual vocals floating on top of a trendy dance bop is exactly what we forgot we needed! Her vocals has lots of dynamic transitions from quiet to loud while remaining a substantial melody and beautiful resonance. Her tone stood out a lot to me, but the addicting beat is what helps make the song a hit in my opinion. You can play this record in your car, or at any dance party where you want to just let loose and get lost in the music while feeling the sensations carry from the tune into your body releasing a charismatic personality you sometimes keep locked inside during your day to day routines. Asha impressed us tremendously and we can ensure you that she is on her way to becoming a groundbreaking success. Listen to “Exit Strategy” here and get to know Asha in our interview below! We chat about her latest release, musical influences and her plans for 2019! Hi Asha, can you tell our readers a little about yourself? I was born in Boston and raised in the South Shore to immigrant parents. My mom and dad are straight off the boat from Poland. They came here just before I was born, so growing up I felt like I didn't quite belong here or there. Nobody in my family did music while I was growing up or anything creative at all, but as a kid I remember watching a family friend playing piano and I saw how much attention they got and I thought I wanted that kind of attention, too. I wanted everyone in a room to stop talking and listen to what I had to say. I think that's how this all started. Now when I'm not writing music for myself I'm a freelance composer, which means I sit in my room and make music all day. To me I'm living the dream of 15 year old me. When did you begin making music? I started piano lessons when I was about 10 but I think I really started writing music down, writing lyrics out and creating songs, no matter how dumb they were, when I was about 13 or 14. That's around the time I got my first guitar and started lessons, thinking I was going to be a rock star. How would you personally describe your artistry and style? My music always starts in the electronic world. I'm a huge fan of messing with samples, I love making fun beats with weird sounds for drums. I've become an Ableton wizard through my professional work and I do almost all my writing in there. My music tends to be on the dark side, I write from a very emotional place and I only write about what I know and feel. I've spent a lot of time creating a persona of a dark witch or vampire on my social media, so that's my vibe. I think a bit of darkness is exciting. Do you have any musical influences if so who and why? I always say my music is a mix of Nine Inch Nails, Fiona Apple, and some Florence and The Machine. Nine Inch Nails have always been a huge part of my life and I think my upcoming project is going more industrial than my last EP. I love Olafur Arnalds and his blend of electronics and classical sounding music. But I also love composers like Debussy and Phillip Glass, and there are some other amazing film composers I aspire to be. I love world music and try to incorporate samples from gamelan and African drumming etc in my music when I can. Sometimes I listen to nothing but pop music. I try to take in all sorts of inspiration and don't limit myself, taking pieces from everything to try to create something fresh. If you can compare yourself to any past hit artist who would you say you channel the most and why? I've heard people say I remind them of Kate Bush a bit, or Annie Lennox. Both of which I love. There's nothing wrong with being compared to strong powerhouse females. Where do you find much of your songwriting inspiration from? My inspiration comes from my life, it's usually how I feel in the moment. I always tell friends and lovers that if you want to know how I feel about something, the honest truth, you'll hear it in my music. What’s next for you? I have a side project I am working on called IN LU, it's a bit different than my normal music. It's downtempo electronic, more hip hop and world music influenced. I am also in the process of recording an album to follow up my EP Mercy. In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to make a bunch of remixes for Mercy, so I did them myself and now they're out there and I've gotten great responses from people. I'm hoping I can keep releasing new music this year and keep on that grind. Connect with Asha on social media: www.ashamakesmusic.com www.instagram.com/ashamakesmusic www.facebook.com/ashamakesmusic

- The Addictive New Hit From Bafoory "Nicotine"
The first Emirati rock artist, Bafoory brings a unique cultural twist to western dominated Rock music. Oozing talent from every aspect, Bafoory is a multi-instrumentalist as well as a multilingual singer English, Arabic and Hindi. Bafoory has been in music since fifteen and has been sharing his music since 2013. Bafoory's EP , “Fall and Rise” was released in December of 2018. The fourth track of the EP is titled, “Nicotine”. "Nicotine" gives the listener a glimpse of what Bafoory is about musically with his unique cool style. Moody guitar licks and classic rhythms and twangiest of acoustic guitars, saturated with a hard percussion line bring this track together. Almost on the lines of grunge/rock, Bafoory brings his melodic, yet gritty vocals which intensifies along with the track. This may sound like a class rock genre track, but we later see the transition. The instrumentalization of the track is set equal to the vocals which emphasizes the emotion. Bafoory's song "Nicotine" is completely solid in itself and seems to have a thematic element of the twangy acoustic guitars. "Nicotine" will definitely lead way for inspiration to artists to create something real and raw. Listen to "Nicotine" here -- Be sure to check out our exclusive BuzzMusic Interview with Bafoory below! Hi Bafoory! Care to introduce yourself to our readers? My name is Mohammad Bafoory. My writing style I would say its more of direct and sometimes i use metaphor and its very deep connected with real human emotions where people can relate to it on a very deep level. We dig the new song! Can you tell us a bit about it? Nicotine is the most heard song on my album and I think because the riff in the song is very addictive to one’s ears and in this song I’ve used metaphor where I have described love in form of addiction which is Nicotine. Where did the inspiration behind the song come from? To be honest there wasn’t any inspiration behind it when I started writing it, it just came out of me in one go lyric wise but to structure it well it took me 4 years and its long time but its worth the time and effort because it became somehow a hit in our local music scene area. What are three things you’d love your fans to know about you? - GentleBeatz Takes You On A Journey Through “Soul City”
GentleBeatz is an artist and producer currently residing in Mozambique. His style can best be categorized as lo-fi hip-hop/chill-hop. His latest project Soul City was released December 31. GentleBeatz takes listeners to places they’ve never been. Through 8 tracks, you go through an emotional journey from broken-hearted to healed and sadness to happiness. Giving room for multiple interpretations for listeners to hear what they want at different points on their own paths. No matter where you are on your on journey, Soul City has something for you. This artist is truly artistic. It is no lie that he has a way of gathering musical components from jazz, reggae, hip-hop, soul, blues, EDM, r&b, folk, indie, and even world sounds to make his own very unique and distinct sound. Lo-Fi music is one of my top favs but when artist combine other sounds to that seamlessly it gives it a whole new taste. Picture your favorite ice cream but then they come out with a more creamier version and add your favorite toppings. Yum right? Exactly how this track turned out. The story in this track alone for me gave me a great deal of confidence. Like I made it through something and came out a winner and now I am walking with my head held high and this song playing on repeat in my airpods. Listen to Soul City here. - #NowPlaying: “Neighbourhood Nightclub” - Zkeletonz
The colorful electronic trio Zkeletonz gave us something new, fresh and original with their release of “Neighbourhood Nightclub”. When we first listened to this record, we were captivated by the vocalist unique sound. The high-pitched, scrunchy nose sounding resonance was so funky, groovy, yet intricately beautiful as it’s completely individualistic to the trio, therefore allowing them to stand out more than before. The psychedelic sound fused together by vibrant vocals and extravagant instrumentals. The record follows Zkeletonz on a nocturnal journey through the city they now call home. This is innovative effervescent songwriting. A love letter to London that celebrates lost ambition and dreaming big. Lush pulsating synth, rich powerful guitar and relentless driving drums combine to evoke razor sharp optimism and high energy joy. If the audio wasn’t enough for you, if you checked out the youtube video, Zkeletonz sticks to their niche and delivers a trippy visual that could complement the aesthetic of the song highly well. Listen to “Neighbourhood Nightclub” by Zkeletonz here Hey guys, care you introduce yourselves? Zkeletonz is a live electronic project which consists of Gav Venture, Ed Trotsky and Will Première. We make music together in east London now but all originally came from the middle of the UK close to Birmingham and Coventry. Both cities are seen by some people as British equivalents to Detroit due to their long associations with the motor industry. You guys have a bold and unique sound, do you have any musical inspirations that help engineer your artistry? Our sound is a 21st century take on disco and indie produced independently with the spirits of 1980s postpunk and synthpop in mind. In general we're fascinated by technology, politics and the environment. We like bands and solo artists who challenge audiences to think, learn and escape their daily grind through a combination of fantasy and commercialism, like Devo and David Bowie. What’s the meaning behind your latest single “Neighbourhood Nightclub”? "Neighbourhood Nightclub" follows some common lyrical themes for us like recreation and romance but also touches on how those things are affected by people's relationships with the cities and towns they occupy. We find it strange that innately charismatic places don't become characters in songs more often. Filmmakers, photographers and visual artists seem to understand and use the power of setting and scene more than musicians today. How is this song different than anything you've come out with in the past? Well it's a love letter to London rather than something more abstract or vague! The song also tries to draw attention to a source of meaning and beauty that's often ignored; the local surroundings and urban contexts that the experiences and dramatic incidents in all of our lives actually take place within. We're conscious of how our own journeys, short and long, have affected our music. So on this track we've tried to contextualise the love and hedonism being communicated and portrayed, not just describe it. Have you guys performed live yet? If so, what’s the most exciting part about entertaining a crowd! This a shocking question! Why would any music artist not perform live? We truly shine on live stages and we have always focused mainly on concerts as our main form of expression and connection with fans and friends. We originally formed as a performance piece for a Halloween Party five years ago. Our Halloween party is now annual and we always perform. It's raised thousands of pounds for good causes like free bikes for refugees who can't get work permits and a new rail line park in London similar to the New York High Line. The best parts about Zkeletonz entertaining a crowd are our groove and your inevitable smiles. And hip wiggles. Little ones that start small but then just grow and grow. We literally just got back from playing in Coventry at an awesome gig celebrating UK Independent Venue Week. It's the city where the Two Tone genre was invented, uniting black and white youth through music at a time of aggressive political tension between the left and far right. After performing we visited The Specials cafe and museum to appreciate the local music heritage. We've also performed at carnivals and community festivals across London, and we regularly headline gigs for Vice in the London venues they run and programme. What’s next for Zkeletonz? Singles on Spotify and everywhere else every 6 weeks throughout 2019. Loads more gigs; next up we headline The Victoria in Dalston, east London on Friday 22 February. This summer, a five night residency at Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, to debut a brand new live show based on the end of the world. And a live session on BBC Introducing radio Coventry in spring. We keep busy! Haha! Check our website WWW.ZKELETO.NZ for updates. Connect with Zkeletonz on social media: www.zkeleto.nz www.instagram.com/Zkeletonz www.twitter.com/Zkeletonz #BuzzMusic

- Sal Capone’s “Bossa-Me Mucho” Is A Beautiful Masterpiece
Salvador Velasco, better known as Sal Capone is originally from Mexico but was raised in Texas. At the age of 12, Sal began playing the trumpet. Pulling influences from Freddie Hubbard, Roy Hargrove, Willie Colon, and Trombone Shorty. When he attended the University of Houston, he branched off into the popular/jazz music genre and has not looked back since! This artist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist is currently working with various established as well as up and coming musical acts around Houston. So let’s jump to his latest single “Bossa-Me Mucho” and see what this composer is truly all about. “Bossa-Me Mucho” is one for the books! I mean I am a huge fan of jazz music and this single gives me life! Sal is a musical god; tying in some of his Hispanic roots with a blend of jazz. Such a huge compliment to one another. The intro starts off with some bongos and then just as you think this is going to be an island sound the trumpet sounds off! Causing a trifecta of beautifully composed elements carefully placed along the entire single. So sit back, pour up your favorite glass of whatever you love, and tune into this amazing single. It will not disappoint. Listen to “Bossa-Me Mucho” here and get to know Sal Capone in our exclusive interview as we talk to him about the release, new projects & more! Hey Sal! Mind introducing yourself to our readers? My name is Salvador Velasco but I go by Sal Capone. I am the trumpet gangster born in Mexico, raised by the dank streets of Houston Texas. And I have been feverishly pursuing music excellence since I was about 12 years old. What made you pick up a trumpet first? Growing up I always realized that in musical productions (any genre) the trumpet and drums always had the most ATTITUDE. Growing up latino, trumpet is prevalent inmost of our music and I was always attracted t the powerful energy of the trumpet. What would you say influenced the creation of “Bossa-Me Mucho”? Bossa-ME mucho has a number of influences, some jazz, some bossa, some afro-cuban rhythms. But to be completely honest I wrote the song in about 15 minutes with guitarist and co-writers of the song Luis Chacon because we were bored… lol!! We were just hanging out with our instruments and we said “Hey, lets write a bossa nova”. It’s not quite exactly a bossa nova by the books, but nonetheless bossa me mucho was born. Who are a few artists you would love to work with in the future? I would love to collaborate with a plethora of artists, casts like Quincy Jones, Sergio George, Ruben Blades or Bun B.. It would be an hour to work with these veterans of the industry.. But I would also like to stay hip with the times and work with cats like Trombone Shorty, and Jorja Smith, ThunderCat or Kamasi Washington..Tank and The Bangas MAsego!! The list goes on! What do you hope others get from listening to your music? I hope my music brings optimism and hope to people. I hope it makes them feel good and I hope the get the urge to get up and dance!! Can we expect more music from you this year Sal? Absolutely, expect a handful of charts and a wide variety of styles including more latin tunes, hip hop, jazz and maybe some brass band arrangements! - Ben Cesare Releases Electrifying New Single “Somethin’ Bout’ Somewhere Else”
Northern Grown, yet rooted in down-home country and Mississippi blues, The Ben Cesare is rolling off the release off his debut EP “Cesare’s Palace”. Ben recently released a new single “Somethin’ Bout’ Somewhere Else” and his all-American sound was equipped with your typical country grit. The southern tune stayed true to the elements that makes up a great country song and that’s why we enjoy it so thoroughly! The electrifying instrumentals and melodic chords by the guitar strings in “Somethin’ Bout’ Somewhere Else” makes up your subtly energetic country-rock hit. What we interpreted from this single is that Ben Cesare is discussing about an escape place where you can feel free from your typical day to day thoughts and motions. “Something Bout Somewhere Else” wastes no time before it instantly gets the party started with exhilarating energy fused in this addicting hit record. Ben incorporates bluesy grooves, heavy guitar riffs, and a northern-boy twang in a high-energy, live performance! Listen to “Something Bout Somewhere Else” here and get to know Ben Cesare in our interview below! Hey Ben! Care to introduce yourself? My name is Ben Cesare and I am a Nashville-based singer/songwriter, playing country music with a bluesy rock edge. I moved to Nashville from a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts four years ago. My band, Ben Cesare Band, and I came out with our first single, “Damn Yankee” followed by a 6 song EP, which you can still download and stream on places like Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, etc, called Cesare’s Palace. It’s made up of original songs that I have written with other writers in Nashville, As well as one given to me to record, “That Was A Man”, co-written by country singer Lee Brice. What brought you to Nashville from Boston? To make a living, full-time, as a country music singer songwriter and performer, of course! After graduating from a University in New Hampshire, and a short period of working as the lead singer of a cover band in the greater New England area, I decided to make the move to Nashville to further my career as an artist. Although I do have to sing other artists' songs from time to time as covers, I wanted to have my own voice and express my creativity through singing, performing, and songwriting. Do you think your growing environment impacted your musical style? Yes, I would say so. I got into country music around the age of 12 years old back in Massachusetts. I was on my way to a family reunion in upstate New York, and back when CDs and CD players were still relevant, my parents bought me bargain bin CDs to listen to on the ride up. A compilation CD of country music ranging from the 1970s to the late 90s was what got me into this genre. “Watermelon Crawl” By Tracy Byrd and “Third Rate Romance” by Sammy Kershaw were some of the first country songs that got me hooked. Expanding from that CD, I was introduced to the music of Toby Keith, among other artists, and then expanded my musical tastes from watching CMT and GAC. When I moved to Nashville, I was introduced to various types of country music and I have to say, I appreciate country in all of its forms. I have many influencers that help me define my style of country. I think I have something different to offer Nashville and the country music industry. How has it been creating music in Nashville so far? It’s been an experience indeed. Nashville is such a close community and I’ve enjoyed getting to know, network and write with a lot of singer/songwriters. Each singer and songwriter in this town has something different to offer when it comes to artist imagery an artist creativity. I have a great amount of songs under my belt, thanks for the help of several artists that I am glad I have written with. I have a lot of songs to work with, and it is a process nearing down which ones I should record and which ones are a better fit for someone else. Did you face any challenges in the beginning? What advice would you give to bands just starting out? Absolutely! For the first two years that I lived in Nashville I struggled. I had no family, I had no friends, and only my mentor, Lance Dary (Former acoustic guitarist for Randy Travis, Mark Collie etc) to help and guide me through Nashville. I played anywhere and everywhere that I could. Sometimes the venues hardly ever had customers and I would have to sing to a bunch of empty chairs and empty tables. But, if you don’t bring your A-game every night and entertain the people that are there, you don’t make tips, and you may or may not go hungry or pay your bills. If I could give anybody advice, I would say spend a short amount of time playing on Broadway here in Nashville. Anywhere from six months to a year of experience is enough. You get to play for hundreds of thousands of tourists that visit the city, and if you choose the right bar, you can make a decent living. If you want to expand your horizons as an artist, I would suggest networking with other singers and writers. Write write write. Even by yourself. Do you prefer studio recording or live performing your singles? Both experiences are great. Recording in the studio gives you the opportunity to start over, or edit what you record and sing. If you work with the right producer, you could have the artistic freedoms to make the song however you want. Playing your music live to a live audience, you can experiment and change your songs up the more you live with them. I do feel though that singing live has a little bit more flavor and heart, because your audience only gets to hear your songs once, and depending on how you feel, or how long you have lived with the song, they’ll enjoy it and you gain experience. Though I can say that in a studio, you get to choose how many songs you get to record in a day and how many days you want to record the songs. This gives you ample time to replenish yourself and get some rest unlike touring where you're performing long sets for multiple days.
