- Lindsay Kaye Bids Farewell To Past Love In New Single, “Have Fun In Austin”
From San Diego, California, singer-songwriter and versatile recording artist Lindsay Kaye bids farewell to a past relationship in her newest single, "Have Fun In Austin." Lindsay Kaye's talent knows no bounds, knowing from age five that she was destined to perform. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance, she ventured into the arts through songwriting and never looked back. With influences like Taylor Swift and Julia Michaels, Kaye proves her worth through vibrant, relatable tunes that hit home. In her latest single, "Have Fun In Austin," Lindsay Kaye explores the separation of two 'lovers' and how one party decided to plan their great escape. Although the instrumentals remain upbeat and bright, Lindsay Kaye's honest, emotional performance wishes them well on their journey in a wise, mature manner. Diving deeper into "Have Fun In Austin," a warm country-pop instrumental meets the speakers alongside Lindsay Kaye's T-Swift-like vocals. While expressing how she managed to get herself tangled in this situation, Kaye reminisces on the good times while facing her harsh reality. As she wishes them well on their way to Austin and parts ways with the memories of riding shotgun with this so-called 'lover,' Kaye is surprisingly mature about the situation. Although her verses are pretty cathartic. As she unleashes the pain of parting ways with this person and relying on time to heal her wounds, Kaye beautifully makes her way into the introspective pre-hook and the bright and beaming chorus. While leading us to the lush outro, Lindsay Kaye reminds us that there is no time limit to healing, but accepting the situation is the first start. Oliver's ability to infuse every note with the depth of his feelings creates an immersive experience for the listener, making "Your Song" a heartfelt expression etched into the very fabric of sound. In a world where predictability often reigns, Marc Oliver stands as a beacon of unpredictability, and "Your Song" is a shining example of his musical prowess. Buckle up for a ride through the dynamic landscapes of emotion as Marc Oliver invites you to experience the magic of "Your Song" in all its energetic, soulful glory. You have such a diverse realm of influences, and we're curious how this inspiration contributes to the unique sonic landscape in "Your Song" and how you approach blending these genres. It's good to be back. Thank you! I do not think about blending genres. I feel like every song can take its moment in time. It is a lot more fun to explore where things can go. Beto and I work really hard on nailing down where the songs go, how I write them, and how they flow. This one felt like a moving but exciting explosion of fun with a warm feeling. "Your Song" takes listeners on a journey of emotions. Please share the inspiration behind the profound love and memories embedded in the track. Yes, absolutely! This song is a story about Inga (my wife) and myself. I wrote about our first date, my feelings, and when I met her. I did it about a week before I asked her to marry me. I planned on taking her on a trip and asking her. About a week before we left, I thought I could write her a quick song to ask her, and it just came out. I was drawn, as always, to just put my thoughts down as a simple line that anyone could relate to. It felt very natural to say it how it is. I jumped in the studio two days before we left and laid down a demo. When I got back, Beto and I put it together. How do you approach songwriting, and how do lyrics convey the emotions you want your audience to feel? What message do you want listeners to take away from this track? When I'm songwriting, it starts as a feeling, a thought of what the song is about. That usually comes out as a word or a line and becomes the hook. With this song, I just wanted to put people with me, saying the things everyone would say. Where I've been, what I've learned, how much better it is here now with you, just simple thoughts that are easy to understand. I didn't think much about what I wanted anyone else to feel; when I wrote it, I felt good; the song felt really good and made me feel whole. And I think that resonates with people when they hear feelings they can understand. The message behind this, which I hope resonates with the listeners, is to "believe" and express yourself and your love fully. I hope someone uses this song to ask someone to marry them one day; maybe it will be played at people's weddings or their first dance. That would be cool. In what ways has the city's atmosphere and culture shaped your musical identity? Have you felt this change throughout your career? I don't know. I do not think it has been just my hometown; I've lived and have been in many places. I do see how much my writing has evolved over the years. I think I have grown so much with my music. Every year, month, and day, I feel better since I stopped caring about what anyone thought about my music. I don't care; I write because it feels good. It makes me feel good, and when people listen, they smile. Not much more than that. But it took me a while to stop caring. The music business has always been judgemental, and it took years to let that go. Life is a constant lesson. How do you keep your music fresh and unexpected, and what excites you most about surprising your audience with each new release? Well, I record almost everything I write. It could sound like an R&B track, a little hip-hop, maybe rock, or even musical theater stuff. But what you said about "Fresh and Unexpected" is not thinking about what things could sound like, what genre we want this to be in, or even if it should sound like the last track. I've thrown all that out the window and just put everything out. And so far, every song has been different, and that feels great. We live like that every day. People's playlists consist of rap, country, EDM, and pop. Sound changes with feelings, so, as artists, we should also be okay with changing things. Taylor Swift started as a country artist. Teaming up with Philippines-born artist Valiant Vermin, known for her bedroom pop tunes infused with electronic synths, the two artists powerfully take the stage with their new single "Never Gonna Get With Me." While it might seem like a playful, tongue-in-cheek song at first listen, it runs much deeper than you think, but that's precisely what we've expected from Ms. Vice. "Never Gonna Get With Me" kicks off with sweet unison vocals between Vice and Vermin, while Vice opens the first verse with her sugary stylings that sprinkle equal hints of sass and realness. Listening to her lyrics, she dives into the challenges and objectification faced by women in the music industry, particularly the experience of being viewed as sexual objects by their male counterparts. Valiant Vermin's radiant verse blesses the listener with a similar uplifting feel. At the same time, she touches on the weirdos and creeps, perhaps even in the music industry, and the experience of being offered opportunities with hidden 'expectations.' But, both ladies are standing their ground, sharing an anthem of integrity to gather women in music and encourage them to fight against objectification. We can always trust Megan Vice when it comes to repeat-worthy, thought-provoking tunes. Catch her new single alongside Valiant Vermin, "Never Gonna Get With Me," on all digital streaming platforms. It's a testament to his dedication and a journey that began with studying songwriting and audio engineering in college. "Waste Time" transcends the typical love song, encapsulating the essence of being head over heels and yearning to lose track of time with someone special. Shane Morgan Raps lyrics unfold like a heartfelt letter, carried by melodies that feel like tender caress. There's an effortless quality to how Shane weaves emotion into his music, creating an authentic and immersive experience for the listener. Shane Morgan Raps musical world is one where emotions dance freely, and with each listen, you find yourself willingly caught in the irresistible rhythm of "Waste Time." This release hits home and comes at no better time of year than when love is in the air. Can you please shine a light on the inspiration behind the song and what emotions or experiences drove its creation? This song came about during a time when I felt like I was going on dead-end dates. Nothing was going anywhere, and although I felt like we were having fun getting to know each other, I knew I was wasting time. The lyrics of "Waste Time" feel straight from the heart. How do you tap into a specific frame of mind when writing, and how do personal experiences shape the lyrical narratives in your songs, particularly in this track? When writing my lyrics, I usually write from an extremely honest place. I'll freestyle melodies and lines but don't save a line unless I feel like I'm saying something other people wanna say but don't. With this track, I thought about all the dates or short-term relationships I was experiencing and wanted to make a letter expressing my honesty before anyone got too involved or got the wrong idea. How do you feel your music has evolved, especially genre-blending, and what do you aim to convey through this sonic diversity? When I first started making music, I was heavily inspired by boombap rap and wanted to come up with profoundly introspective but catchy songs. Over time, I gravitated towards melody-driven genres like pop and RNB because of how fun it is to sing and express lyrics differently. I enjoy blurring the lines between genres and dipping my toes into new sounds while still sounding original. What message do you hope your audience takes away from "Waste Time?" The message I hope my audience takes away from "Waste Time" is simply understanding that things may not always be forever, but they may be fun while it lasts. What can your fans expect from your future projects as you gear up to open for other artists and tour NY? Are there specific sonic landscapes or themes you want to explore in your upcoming musical endeavors? Regarding my upcoming musical endeavors, my fans can expect a full-length RNB project before summer. It sounds reminiscent of Timberland's production, with relatable narratives about modern-day relationships. The project is called "Wrong Place, Wrong Time," it should be coming out sometime soon. I'm excited to jump into the RNB space and put my best foot forward regarding narratives and songwriting. Instagram Facebook

From Alabama to Nashville, singer-songwriter and country recording artist Caleb Mills treats his 60k monthly listeners to a long-awaited debut album, S-U-R-V-I-V-E. The Alabama-born artist started writing and performing at the age of 8, influenced by his touring and studio musician granddaddy, Billy Ray McBroom. Residing in Music City since 2020, Nashville helped Mills fall in love with various genres, expanding his artistic versatility. With 8 million streams under his belt in just a few years, he's ready to keep the momentum going with his debut 10-track album, S-U-R-V-I-V-E. The new record highlights brilliant collaborations between Mills and renowned songwriter Richie Brown (Garth Brooks). Not only that, but the album features twelve other talented songwriters who round it out to perfection. S-U-R-V-I-V-E powerfully opens with the introductory and title track, "S-U-R-V-I-V-E," kicking off with a powerful country-rock instrumental that leads into Mills' warm and twangy vocals. While touching on his past rebellious self and how he always found himself in trouble, Mills leads us to the hook and embraces this part of himself with confidence and wit, letting us know that although he might be under the influence, he's surviving. On track number two, "I Can Be Him Tonight," Caleb Mills turns the allure up a notch with a sweet-sounding, sultry country tune that kicks off with bold brass and a toe-tapping beat. While Caleb Mills makes his deep vocal appearance and embraces his inner heartthrob cowboy, he makes his attempt to sweep someone off their feet with clever lyrics like "Your blue eyes match my blue collar." It's an uplifting, playful tune that keeps us locked in for the ride until the very last beat. Moving on to the album's third track, "You And I," Caleb Mills keeps the passion alive while opening the track with a solid mid-tempo country groove. As he expresses his past self, chasing women with a beer in hand, Mills makes the realization that a part of him changed when he met someone special - someone who encouraged him to stop smoking and now has him sipping sangria instead of dive bar drinkin'. We adore this passionate love song that highlights personal, positive changes when we meet the right person. Turning up the emotion is track number four, "Candles To Burn," opening with a soft acoustic guitar alongside tender keys and Caleb Mills' soothing vocals. From the get-go, he infuses this song with the utmost devotion and passion, encouraging his lover to cancel their reservations, put some records on, and keep those candles burning. It's an incredibly intimate, beautiful song that places the listener smack-dab in the middle of the picturesque scenes Caleb Mills effortlessly describes. Maintaining that emotional theme in the album's fifth track, "Raining in Tupelo," this song opens with gentle acoustic guitar and Caleb Mills' vocals that express his journey back to his blue-eyed girl. Just as it's been raining in Tupelo, Mills knows that his lover has been waiting for his return. But he promises to rekindle that flame sooner than later. It's a song that perfectly highlights the distance between lovers and the lingering pain that always feels like a cloud of rain. Reaching the album's second half with track six, "Honky Tonk Church," we're shouting yeehaw as Caleb Mills turns up the heat with powerful country-rock instrumentals and his vibrant, rich vocals. As he leads us down to the good old Honky Tonk Church, where the cups are raised and the tunes are loud, Mills sets the party vibes high with picturesque lyrics that leave us itching to track down this haven for country music lovers. Transitioning into track number seven, "Whiskey On The Shelf (Uncut)," this raw, acoustic version perfectly highlights Caleb Mills' stunning vocals and storytelling prowess. While the previous songs have done the same, this uncut version lets us into Mills' personal life, emotions, and challenges that keep him up at night. This time around, it's the helplessness he feels sleeping by himself, living it up in Heartbreak Hotel with his whiskey sitting on the shelf. This intimate piece is sure to win over the hearts of anyone who listens. Maintaining the acoustic vibe is track eight, "Church Pew," opening with beautiful guitar picking and Caleb Mills' introspective vocals discussing his trials and tribulations. When it all seems too dark to handle, and he can't find an escape, Mills finds himself sitting in that "Church Pew," hoping the Man upstairs will answer his prayers. It's an incredibly personal, vulnerable song that highlights the troubles he's experienced in love and life and how he always turns to God when the light at the end of the tunnel fades. Keeping the emotion at a high is track nine, "Handshakes In Heaven," which we can already tell will bring tears to our eyes. While a sweet acoustic guitar opens the song alongside Caleb Mills's warm vocals, he expresses a different kind of love - one that appreciates the life lived by someone he knows is still by his side. And once he reaches those pearly gates, whenever that might be, Mills is certain that he'll reunite with this beloved person once again. This beautiful song speaks to the universal theme of love, life, and loss, and it might be our favorite on the album. Landing on the album's tenth and outro track, "Inside Of Me (Uncut)," we're met with soothing acoustic guitar picking and Caleb Mills' sweet vocals that express his relatable struggles. The lengths he's traveled, the disappointments he's faced, and the ongoing battles of changing wrongs to right, he prays that one day, he'll be able to channel the better man inside. It's the most vulnerable song on the album, and it closes the project on a note of growth, resilience, and doing your best when times get tough. Caleb Mills is a force to be reckoned with in the new country music space, and his debut 10-track album is destined to catapult his career to new heights. Known for creating songs that express her subconscious, influenced by cinematic romance and alternative rock, Kate Von Heart went on to complete her music education at Cégep Marie-Victorin and the Université du Québec à Montréal, later performing across Canada while making appearances as a backup singer on TV, like Radio-Canada's "En direct de l'univers." It's a beautiful, relatable song that perfectly captures the disappointment felt towards the end of a relationship, knowing that a breakup is long overdue. "Driving You Home" beautifully kicks off with a powerful electric guitar alongside grungy, gloomy alternative instrumentals that pave the way for Kate Von Heart's soothing vocals. While expressing how, at first, she was intrigued by this person's mysterious ways, she realized that, no matter how much they fight and try to stay together, they're better left apart. It's a harsh realization for anyone to make, but Kate Von Heart puts it beautifully. Her words carry incredible meaning, helping listeners relate to this universal situation while providing a calming, comforting listening experience that embraces the listener like a warm blanket. Kate's vocal cries, accompanied by the rich electric guitar, are stunning; they act as the wake-up call we all need to hear: Once the road looks like it's ending, it's better to hop out early than stay and crash. When looking for an impactful, meaningful alternative-rock anthem for broken hearts, check out Kate Von Heart's newest track, "Driving You Home," from her 5-track EP, That Isn't You And Me (Part I), now available on all digital streaming platforms. We truly admire the passion and vulnerability you brought to your recent track, "Driving You Home." What moments or experiences inspired this song from your recent EP, 'That Isn't You And Me (Part I)?' Thanks for the kind words! "Driving You Home" came to me after driving home and turning down an old flame. Even though it was painful at the time, I knew deep down that this relationship was doomed to fail. What do you hope listeners experience or learn from impactful tracks like "Driving You Home?" What did you want to make your audience feel? If they are experiencing something similar to what I had, I hope it makes them feel less alone. It gives them the courage to stand for what they already know and truly understand that they deserve someone better. A loving relationship isn't supposed to be confusing. Ultimately, I hope it helps people gain different perspectives regarding relationships with others and themselves. Did you work alongside any musicians or producers when crafting the songs on That Isn't You And Me (Part I)? What were those collaborations like? Yes! After I wrote the songs, I worked alongside 3 musicians (Philippe Girard, Vincent Yelle, and Carl St-Louis) and the producer/musician/sound engineer Ryan Battistuzzi (Malajube, Les Shirley, We Are Wolves) to make the arrangements. I tried two different approaches to see which one I liked best, turns out they're both different and exciting ways to work. For the first approach, I made more detailed demos of "That Isn't You And Me", "Break Each Other" and "No One Ever Cared" with Ryan, whom I co-produced the album with. Essentially, we started with reference songs and ideas I had in mind, or Ryan would suggest something else, and then we would explore these directions until we found arrangements that best served the songs and recorded them. We both have a similar taste in music, and with Ryan's experience, ears, smoothness, and openness, working together was so easy and pleasant! Afterward, I would play the songs with the musicians to refine details. The second approach was to work with the musicians and then with Ryan. Working with the musicians was a pleasure, too; they all had great openness and ideas. They were there to serve the songs, have a great time, and are also very talented. This process was longer because there was a lot to focus on at the same time, and also, the last two songs, "Of Course" and "Driving You Home," were more of a challenge to find the right arrangements. It wasn't until pre-production with Ryan that the basic arrangements were settled. Even during the mix, we had to find the perfect place for each part, so things changed until mastering. That being said, I enjoyed each journey and learned a lot! What was your songwriting process like for "Driving You Home?" Did it feel cathartic to express those pent-up, vulnerable emotions finally? All of the songs on this album came to me the same way, very instinctively. I would start by playing chords that I liked on the ukulele, the guitar, or the piano. "Driving You Home" was written on the ukulele. Afterward, I would sing melodies phonetically, then words and sentences would emerge and somehow dictate the message of each song. This writing method was helpful and therapeutic for me. It helped me tap into my subconscious mind and produce lyrics of an honesty that was sometimes disconcerting. But it felt good to put words to my feelings. When you understand what you feel, it gives you more perspective and understanding of the situation. I'd say "Of Course" was the most cathartic song I wrote on this album! I kept so much frustration and shame inside, and letting it out was so satisfying. For "Driving You Home," I'd say it felt more comforting and empowering as well. What more can you tell us about your latest EP, That Isn't You And Me (Part I)? What does this project mean to you? Styled as gloomy rock, my subconscious mind, cinematic romance, and alternative rock strongly influenced it. It’s a two-part conceptual album depicting the mourning of the romanticized relationship ideal. To illustrate the inner conflict of this grieving process, the album's song order follows the events chronologically. So when you listen to the album from A to Z in order, the intensity of the songs doesn't necessarily have a logical direction, just like mourning. This is my first singer-songwriter project, and it means a lot to me. It represents a lot of firsts and a lot of growth. With this project, I chose to put myself first, do what I love, and follow my heart. Instagram Facebook

GTech's latest single, "STEPHANIE," delves into the complexities of love and heartbreak in an energetic and inspiring hip-hop/rap track. “STEPHANIE” begins with lyrics that recount a tale of devotion, betrayal and the struggle for self-recovery after a painful breakup. GTech tells the story of Stephanie, who embodies affection and deception, as reflected in the phrase, "I loved her, and she played me like a felony." The lyrics hint at a relationship that once was filled with cherished moments and reciprocated affection, which was then overshadowed by betrayal. The story speaks to a universal experience of love lost and going through the cycles of heartbreak. GTech raps alongside a trap instrumental with upbeat drums, creating an energizing and uplifting ambiance that contrasts with his melancholic verses. This juxtaposition reflects the artist's internal conflict, the struggle between dwelling in the past and attempting to move forward. As the song progresses, the narrative shifts, suggesting the artist's journey toward self-healing. This powerful message invites listeners to reassert control over their life and past experiences by understanding the reality of love's dual nature. Welcome to BuzzMusic GTech, and congratulations on your latest release, "STEPHANIE." Could you walk us through the songwriting process for “STEPHANIE?" My producer (Six4-7) sent me the beat for STEPHANIE, which was a different vibe. He's always trying to push me to experiment and modernize my music. Regardless, it was a simple yet catchy trap beat to my ears, and I liked it. My typical writing process either starts with thinking of a concept, listening, or producing the beat first. But in this scenario, the beat fell in my hands first. So I now had to think of the concept and theme of the song, which generally creates the overall stencil of the track. My first impression of the vibe of the beat was that it was a love story or a song about a girl. I had my Monster wireless earbuds in, aimlessly roaming around my house, listening to the beat repeatedly. I went to the washroom to wash my hands, and the name Stephanie came to mind, and then I rhymed it with 'definitely.' Typically I start with the chorus and freestyle it, and see what words fit together. Correspondingly, I then connected 'definitely,' with 'felony.' When I used the word 'felony,' I knew this song had to be about heartbreak. Once I established the hook, the verses didn't take long to follow through. How has your music evolved from when you first started to now? I always consider my music being an integral part of who I am. So if I grow as a person, my music grows with me. My music is my narrative because it is a form of reflection of myself. The roots of my music stem from personal experiences, success stories, mistakes, laughs, and cries. So I like to see that from when I first started creating music, it has matured and refined since I first started during my primitive days of being 10 years old and writing on those sheets of lined paper. I often listen to my old songs, and I can embellish a personal experience that I was struggling with, and then I would look back and reflect on how much I've grown since that dark time. What do you want your listeners to take away from your songs? Is there an overarching message that exists within all of your music? I want listeners to connect with my music on an intimate level. I want them to listen to every word and feel every enunciation. Ultimately, I want to provide a relatable experience that's immersible to the listener, so they can submerge themselves in the same emotions I invested in composing the song. I only recently started a few years ago in taking my music more seriously and building a foundational brand. When I took the time to nurture my fans and build my Instagram, that's when I created some visibility for my music. Occasionally, I will get encouraging DM's from people, telling me I inspire them or they are fans of my music. And I am always in disbelief. But I'm always grateful. The ongoing message I try to embed throughout my music is to selflessly believe in your craft—every piece and molecule of it. Suppose you don't; don't expect others to. Who would you choose if you had the opportunity to collaborate with any artist? There are a few I would love to work with. KXNG Crooked, Russ, Rihanna, SZA, and Jhene Aiko. Lastly, locally I would love to work with Toronto artist, Cocanina. Dopest female artist in the city. Check her out. Do you have any upcoming projects that we can anticipate for the future? Currently, I am focusing on singles. And I've been encouraging other artists to do the same. I find releasing singles as opposed to albums is more efficient when it comes to slowly garnering fans within every single you release. If you have little to no fanbase, most of the time, albums flop, or they'll only listen to the first few songs. With that being said, my next single will most likely be "Albert's Energy." This will be a huge single, gravitating around mental health and preserving and protecting your energy for your well-being. But that might not be released until next year, as I want to prioritize all my energy in my "STEPHANIE" project this year. INSTAGRAM FACEBOOK
