- VANGOGO Revives Eddie Murphy’s 1985 Hit, “Party All The Time”
Returning to 1985 is Detroit/Orlando-based band VANGOGO with their newest single, a cover of Eddie Murphy's smash hit, "Party All The Time." VANGOGO, comprised of members Nathan Mackinder, Jason Schaller, Paxton Olney, and Jonah Brockman, has made waves with their previous releases. They've caught radio airplay with singles like "Both of Us," "Big Mistake," "Watch it Burn," and "Get Up To You." And they plan on doing the same with this hot new cover. The band's expansive new single, "Party All The Time," perfectly captures the groovy, danceable essence of the original song while adding a dark, alternative, sexy edge and featuring international flutist Carrie Wiesinger and synthesized elements from drummer/keyboardist Jonah Brockman, the new single offers a different side of the original song, which listeners most likely heard on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Diving into "Party All The Time," this modern rendition starts with smooth yet haunting guitar picking alongside a stunning flute instrumental and shimmering background melodies. As Mackinder's warm and rich vocals meet the speakers, he serenades listeners with the song's timeless lyrics while adding a darker, more mysterious, captivating vibe from top to bottom. The track gradually expands in energy, almost offering a dash of Fleetwood Mac's sound and style that haunts listeners in the best way possible. It's only once the bridge that Mackinder unleashes his raspy and powerful vocals alongside chilling alternative-rock instrumentals. We're more than impressed with the immaculate vibes offered in this stellar new rendition of a classic hit, and we get the feeling new listeners will feel the same. What are you waiting for? Reintroduce yourself to a classic hit through VANGOGO's dynamic new cover of Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome back to Buzz, VANGOGO! We're head over heels for your recent rendition of Eddie Murphy's 1985 hit, "Party All The Time." What inspired your band to cover it? It started as a joke around the bonfire with some friends. We like to get into the 80s pop after a few cocktails, and PATT was one of our favorites. The lyrics are pretty dark, and I have had unfortunate life experiences that make them highly relatable. So, I spent some time with the melody and an acoustic guitar until I found something that seemed more homogeneous to the lyrics. I combined it with some hints of "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson, and it just came together. What was your experience working alongside flutist (and Jason Schaller's wife) Carrie Wiesinger for "Party All The Time"? Why did your band feel the song needed her flutist expertise? Carrie is an incredible talent, and I've long wanted to incorporate her into the music Jason and I have created over the years. This is the 2nd song we have been lucky to have her perform on, and she elevates the music to a place we could only reach with her expertise. When you have talent of that level within reach, you find ways to incorporate it into your projects. She is also a wonderful person and a blast to work with. She will look incredible in a bikini and stilettos for our beach gigs next summer. What was your band's goal in terms of sound and style when creating your cover for "Party All The Time"? How did you make the cover entirely and uniquely your own? Jonah and I built this one from the ground up. It started with just an acoustic guitar and melody, and we built the track around it. Jonah developed an incredible arrangement with unique instrumentation, which even has a glockenspiel. I wanted to go for a "Suicide is Painless" ( the M.A.S.H theme song) that builds into a modern chill groove that maintains darkness throughout. We knew Paxton would kill the Billie Jean bass line and that Chuck would find a way to mold it all together at Pearl for something extraordinary and unique. Jason layered electric guitars and brought it all back to the VGG sound. Is "Party All The Time" the first cover your band has released? Might there be more in the future? This is the first VGG cover we have seriously attempted and recorded. Jay and I have a live version of "The Seeker" by the Who out there by our old group, South Normal. Covers have always been something all of us have done over the years performing live. But we've never taken the time to interpret one like this and make it our own. We often end our live sets with "Go Your Way" by Fleetwood Mac, and perhaps we will get a good recording of that out there soon. Considering your previous singles have gained radio airplay, do you expect the same success with "Party All The Time"? How do you hope listeners receive and react to this single? We plan on releasing this to the radio soon. We wanted to let this one get out first and see what it did organically. Response and feedback have been great, and we are reaching a new audience. Our goal is to share our music as much as we can, and hopefully, it will reach some ears that find some joy in it. And I hope we did the song justice, and the original artists( RIP Rick James) might also enjoy hearing it. Instagram Facebook

- Alyssa Dvm Strikes A Chord In A New Breakup Anthem, “What About Me?”
There's only so much bending over backward we can do for someone, and southern Ontario singer-songwriter Alyssa DVM knows that all too well, as told in her poignant new single, "What About Me?" With a debut EP and multiple singles, Alyssa DVM is leaving her mark on the modern indie music scene and doing it meaningfully. She's quite the storyteller, and it shows through her conceptual lyrics. As she continues hosting safe spaces for women in music to help them embrace their spot in the industry, Alyssa DVM is proving herself as a new indie pop rock artist with something to say. Her music is impactful, and "What About Me?" is no exception. Alyssa DVM dives deep into the fresh wounds of a recent breakup, knowing she deserved better. It's a dynamic single that kicks into gear with grit and emotion to perfectly convey Alyssa's gut-wrenching feelings while wishing to move onward and upward. Hitting play on "What About Me?," the song softly opens with faint melancholy melodies and a subtle country twang, complimented by mid-tempo percussion and Alyssa DVM's rich vocals. While expressing her discomfort with knowing someone is taking advantage of her kindness and sincerity, the song gradually expands into this emotional cinematic experience that tugs on every heartstring. But only once the song's bridge does Alyssa DVM up the energy and angst with exhilarating indie-rock instrumentals and her powerful vocals that command every ounce of our attention. While the song's first half dealt with the emotional aspects of a breakup, Alyssa DVM unleashes the wrath on the killer outro for a truly well-rounded listening experience. It's the perfect power-packed ending to such a dynamic piece. Do yourself a favor and feed the soul with a new single that hits all the right places. Find Alyssa DVM's "What About Me?" on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Alyssa DVM! We love the dynamic range of emotion captured in your recent single, "What About Me?" What experiences inspired you to write such a cathartic single? Thank you for having me! Thank you so much for the love on this song. The funny thing about "What About Me?" is that I actually wrote it over a year ago, but I am currently going through a situation right now, where the song is reflecting my life perfectly. It comes from a place of love and being hurt in love. I am a very emotional and loving person, I love with every piece of my heart. And this song was born out of the idea that I can love all I want, but that doesn't mean people return that feeling or effort. How does "What About Me?" stand out from the rest of your discography? What makes this song special and unique to you? "What About Me?" stands out with its Western-style guitar for sure. That's the first thing that people tend to notice that stands against my pop-rock discography. I wanted this song to be a slow build-up all the way through. The song structure isn't a typical verse-chorus. I added something I call a "post-chorus" to really incorporate the build. It's a place where the melody changes, and I sing a little faster. Which gives that section of the song a sense of urgency. Compared to the rest of my songs, this song truly is a slow burn. What was your goal in terms of the instrumental vibe and atmosphere in "What About Me?" What feelings or sensations did you want to give listeners? Everything we recorded for it; the instrumental, the vocal, the melody change at the end is all in the effort to have a huge buildup throughout the track and to have a huge chorus near the end of the track. To me, it resembles a frustration that builds up over time, whether you realize it or not. But what comes up, must come down. And the last line being sung softer really showcases the sadness behind the build, the frustration. This song is emotional, this song holds a lot of anger and sadness. I hope that if anyone is experiencing what I am, that this track proves you are not alone. What was your favorite part about writing and creating "What About Me?" What did you enjoy most about the process? I love just being able to tell a story. This song was definitely a weird one for me to write, because at the time, I actually had no idea what it meant. My other songs all have extremely specific stories or experiences attached to them at the exact time I write them. But with "What About Me?" I actually didn't realize what I was writing about, until a year later. Every lyric is extremely specific to an experience I'm currently dealing with. I knew my intuition was good, but I didn't know it was that good! My favorite part about this song's process was discovering the story and realizing the meaning. It challenged me and I really love that about the song's lyrical content. On a more personal note, could you elaborate on your efforts in hosting safe spaces for women in music? Are there any initiatives you'd like to speak on? I am always trying to host shows that include women. I've hosted in cities such as Waterloo, Hamilton, and Toronto, Ontario. It's a dream of mine to have the music industry be a safe space for women to excel and create beautiful things. I really applaud Amplify Her Voice and Women In Music Canada. They are actively educating people about the reality of the male-dominated space that is the music industry and hosting plenty of events that honor and feature women in music. They post some really excellent content about the stats of the industry, and I think it's super cool. I also want to thank BUZZ for posting about independent women in music, my heart goes out to you guys! Instagram Facebook
- ADVM Wears His Broken Heart On His Sleeve In “She’s Gone”
A rising star in the Pacific Northwest independent music scene, singer-songwriter and versatile recording artist ADVM unleashes his most profound emotions in a relatable new single, "She's Gone." Known for his catchy pop style and deep appreciation for hip-hop influences, ADVM uses rhythmic storytelling and compelling language to get his message across. In his previous single, "Weekend," ADVM celebrated themes of hedonism, which is quite the contrast from his recent release and accompanying music video for "She's Gone." This time, he tugs on our heartstrings with scenarios many can relate to. The song's music video adds a rich visual experience directed by R. Malcolm Jones. It sees ADVM and his female counterpart living through their tumultuous relationship, leading to the big split. It raises questions about the genuineness of post-breakup attitudes and how we continue to search for answers on the darkest nights. Hitting play on "She's Gone," the song smoothly opens with dreamy, plucky electric guitar melodies alongside an ethereal, downtempo hip-hop/pop beat. As ADVM's lush vocals ooze through the speakers, he confesses his heavy heart and deepest desires to recover from a tough breakup. Although the theme is relatable, ADVM's contemporary production and unique delivery make this post-break-up tune very refreshing. With lyrics like "She's gone, and now she's just a memory, used to overload my sensory," ADVM's gifted storytelling is on full display for listeners to savor. And alongside the smoothest production and gentle, toe-tapping instrumentals, "She's Gone" will satisfy fans of all genres. It's a deeply personal yet relatable track that perfectly showcases ADVM's artistic range. Do yourself a favor and mend that broken heart with a track that resonates, none other than ADVM's latest single, "She's Gone," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, ADVM! We're impressed with the raw emotion and vulnerability presented in your latest single, "She's Gone." What real-life moments or scenarios compelled you to create this song? I was going through some relationship issues with my mentor CLVRK; we had dope conversations in the studio and felt that what we were going through was relatable. "She's Gone" wasn't just a song I made; it was a reflection and a demonstration of my life then. How does "She's Gone" differ from the rest of your discography? How does this single stand out in terms of sound and style? What was your experience shooting the music video with director R. Malcolm Jones for "She's Gone"? How did he help bring your vision to life? While my first single, "Weekend," was loud and party-heavy, "She's Gone" is simple but resonates with people. My goal was to make a song with a deep emotional meaning to contrast "Weekend," and it's an up-funk tune. What was your experience shooting the music video with director R. Malcolm Jones for "She's Gone?" How did he help bring your vision to life? Being the second time I've worked with him, everything felt more comfortable for me in front of a camera than filming "Weekend." Although I'm very much a rookie in all of this, his vision for the video and the confidence in his work brought the vision together - and I think it shows in the quality of "She's Gone." What was your songwriting process like for "She's Gone"? Was it challenging to open up and let your emotions flow, or did you find it cathartic? As I mentioned, the song was written mere days after a tough breakup. I felt like I needed to vent my emotions - so I called CLVRK and hit the studio. At first, I wasn't aware of the pull that the song had on people; to me, it was a compilation of my anxieties and pain that I hadn't yet been able to resolve internally. When I first showed the song to my manager and Push Management CEO, DeWayne "Duprano" Matuin, he expressed his excitement for the record - and the rest is history. What do you hope listeners experience and take away from "She's Gone"? What was your intent in that regard? The song pulls no punches for sure; I'm as transparent as I am blunt. When someone you love decides to leave, it changes how you think about yourself; it might make you angry, sad, jealous, or untrusting - but we heal. Those feelings might feel incredibly personal like you're the only one that feels this way. "She's Gone" is something that none of us want to admit, but we must face. Instagram Artist Webiste

- Kings County Channels Their Inner Nine Inch Nails With Their Fiery Rendition Of "Wish"
Prepare to have your senses amplified with the talented rockers Kings County, who've just unleashed their latest single, "Wish." These Orlando-based rebels don't just bend the rules; they snap 'em in half, which is especially true with their cover of this Nine Inch Nails' 1992 hit. Kings County, comprised of the indomitable Rob Dexter (Vocals, Bass), Steve Bell (Guitars, Vocals), Joe Lopez (Drums), and Bill Kania (Guitars, Vocals), have never been ones to play it safe. Their mission? To take a classic like "Wish" and rip it apart, putting it back together with a darkness that'll have you craving more. Frontman Dexter's fascination with Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails sparked this fiery cover. He's always enjoyed Reznor's unapologetic approach to industrial rock. "Wish" is a relentless beast, a song dripping with raw energy, and Kings County was about to breathe new life into it. In their rendition, Kings County flips the whole damn table with how they approach "Wish." Real drums replace the cold, unfeeling machine, and layers of guitars create a seismic wall of sound. Chuck Alkazian, the wizard behind the producer's chair, resurrects Nine Inch Nails' signature keyboard sound, and Dexter? He unleashes a torrent of Trent Reznor-inspired screams that'll make your spine quiver. But it doesn't end with the music. The video shot at the ominous West Virginia Penitentiary is like a horror film drenched in darkness, serving as the perfect backdrop for this heart-pounding track. Dexter sums it up best: "There are a lot of dark vibes in the building, such a thick negative energy that I've never felt before." The band encountered the inexplicable—footsteps, voices from the beyond, screams, and maniacal laughter—all caught on camera. Even the equipment, with cracked lenses and mysteriously corrupted files, seemed to rebel. Kings County has resurrected "Wish," but it's not just a cover; it's a relentless auditory piece that'll keep you coming back for more. Buckle up because "Wish" is a dark, bone-chilling ride into the heart of rock 'n' roll's madness. It's not just a song; it's a rock 'n' roll exorcism you'll never forget. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Kings County! We love your cover of Nine Inch Nails' hit record "Wish." Can you share the creative process behind transforming this iconic song into your own powerful rendition? Thanks again for having us back at Buzz Music. We're excited to release our Nine Inch Nails remake of "Wish." We've always been fans of Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails since the 90s and the song "Wish" has always been on our radar. Last summer, we were throwing song remake ideas around with our producer Chuck Alkazian, and "Wish" came up. We agreed it would be a great choice, and no one has really remade the song in the past, so we started the recording process. It was one of the quickest songs we've put together. To make the song more modern and aggressive, using real drums was a must. We are a guitar-oriented band, so layering heavy guitars absolutely brought the song to life. To keep the integrity of the original song our producer Chuck Alkazian added the signature Nine Inch Nails keyboards, finished the vocal tracks, and the song exploded off the track. We had something here. We know that for "Wish," you imagined a bigger sound and opted for real drums instead of a drum machine, and with layers of guitars and a wall of sound, you've made it even heavier and thicker. How did these choices affect the overall sound and energy of the song? Being a heavy guitar-driven band, we knew that our song approach to remaking "Wish" would be amazing. You never know how a song will sound until you dig into it, but as we began layering track over track, the song evolved into exactly what we envisioned: a ripping modern version of this iconic Nine Inch Nails song that any fan would embrace and appreciate as a tribute. Modern recording technology and the guidance of our producer steered us into recording one bad-ass song. "Wish" was shot at the West Virginia Penitentiary, a truly eerie location. Can you share some behind-the-scenes experiences or moments that added to the dark and intense atmosphere during the shoot? I've always been intrigued with the paranormal and shows like Ghost Hunters. One episode they were filming at the Missouri State Penitentiary and I thought that would be an amazing location to shoot a music video. As they say, be careful for what you wish for cause the idea became a reality. We got permission to film at the highly haunted West Virginia Penitentiary in Moundsville, WV, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. One of the things we wanted to use in the video was fire and West Virginia Penn was the only place that allowed us to use fire. The Moundsville Fire Department was on site to make sure we didn't burn down the prison. One thing I noticed immediately when entering the building was the heavy dark negative vibe the prison gave off. You literally could feel it. This prison held the worst of the worst, murderers, rapists, and downright evil people. We had a complete run of the building so when we weren't shooting we went around exploring. We had voices show up on video, screams, laughing, and footsteps. Even in broad daylight, we had disembodied voices show up on video. I was never a big believer in spirits but when they show up on your own recordings, it's hard to not believe. Let's get into what we really want to know about the music video component! All of these strange and unexplainable encounters during the video shoot. Was anyone scared on set, and how did these experiences affect the overall atmosphere and creative process during filming? Was there ever a time you wanted to pack up and leave? Filming took 2 days, and these were long days. We never felt threatened ever but just knowing the history of the building was always in the back of our minds. As long as no one was physically being assaulted, we were there to make a killer video and the band and the entire crew were focused on achieving just that, spirits or no spirits. Maybe with our playback music of "Wish" blaring out we scared some of the spirits themselves, who knows? I think our drummer Joe Lopez didn't enjoy going into the building but he'd film his parts and then got the hell out. (lol) The building itself was an amazing structure, built in the mid-1800s, it has a gothic feel, almost like a castle and we knew that we were fortunate to be able to shoot in such a historic location so nothing was gonna get in our way, not even active spirits. You've discussed capturing Trent Reznor's energy and screams throughout this track. How challenging was it to match the intensity and emotion of the original while making it your own? Trent Reznor and I have similar singing styles. I knew "Wish" would be a perfect match for my voice and my approach and it would be only a matter of time before my finished vocal tracks would shine on the recording. Our producer Chuck Alkazian wanted me to explore different vocal ideas, adding octaves throughout the song and incorporating dark harmony vocals to really make the song my own. I always had a really strong scream. Not a lot of singers can achieve my thick throaty sound. I was up for the challenge to emulate that Trent Reznor scream and that's exactly what I got, some of my best screams to date. Hopefully, the listener will enjoy our version of "Wish" as much as we enjoyed recording and filming the video paying tribute to such an iconic band from the 90s. Instagram Website
- DruiZ’s 4-Track EP, Recordatorio I: A Sonic Exploration Of The Life Experience
Grounding us in the gift of life is the musical project of multi-instrumentalist Daniel Ruiz, DruiZ, with his transcendent 4-track EP entitled Recordatorio I. DruiZ's music knows no bounds. It consists of a unique fusion between electronic and acoustic instrumentals, showcasing his love for spontaneous, meaningful creations. Having released various singles over the past few years, all celebrated in their niche circles, DruiZ recently released his 4-track EP that prompts us to contemplate what it means to be human. In DruiZ's words, Recordatorio I is inspired by "the reminder of the gift that life and existence brings us." With each song signifying our journey on this Earth, he reminds us to look at the bigger picture — the connection we share through larger organisms: flora, fauna, Earth, the solar system, and beyond. The EP starts with the introductory track, "A Donde? (Fauna)," with birds twittering in the background alongside what sounds like a lifeline. As the smooth, tropical percussion and ambient synths rain down from above, DruiZ creates a stellar atmosphere of power. On a broader scale, it's the soundtrack of the primal animal kingdom and its evolution beyond our existence. It's a dynamic and engaging instrumental that perfectly leads into track number two. Hitting play on "Planetarialismo," we move beyond the animal kingdom and into something bigger, the massive space rock we humans call Earth. With a heavy increase of electronic basslines and spacey sci-fi synths, this song feels like floating above our terrain and seeing it from a bird's eye view. DruiZ's spacious and rhythmic production sonically reminds us that our worries are just as small as how humans appear from outer space. Microscopic. Leading into the lush interlude with track number three, "Flora (Interlude)," this is where we start to feel one with the Earth. Although short, DruiZ's interlude perfectly paints vivid pictures of abundant flora, from the Amazon rainforest to the plants in our backyard. The blending of serene frequencies of rhythmic percussion feels like a breath of fresh oxygen, graciously provided by the precious flora rooted to the Earth we call home. It's a reflective, relaxing interlude that deepens our connection with the greenery. Landing on the EP's fourth and final track, "Tiempo (Donde Estoy)," we zoom out even further on the life experience and sonically explore the concept of time, one that waits for no one. DruiZ's danceable beats and rich electronic production are food for the soul, and with the background vocals trying to navigate their journey through time and space, DruiZ's concept is brought to life even further. He perfectly conveys the essence of a human's battle with time and its impact on how we view the world. DruiZ provided many thought-provoking concepts even without a single lyric in his newest 4-track EP, Recordatorio I. With themes that explore the gift of life and its many blessings, the new EP serves as a reminder to stop and smell the roses, even when time isn't on your side.
