So whenever you're ready, tap in and stream "Surreal," available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jeffrey Chan. We loved “Surreal.” It felt so classy but steamy at the same time. You knocked it out of the park with this one. We had to ask, where did the inspiration come from for this song? Did you have anyone in particular in mind when you made this song? Thanks! Like my previous singles, I draw a lot of inspiration from the 80s-90s music and combine it into my own music, but for "Surreal," I wanted to experiment with a bit more of an alternative/indie sound that sounds like it could be right at home either in the 2000s or now! I wanted the track to be like this escape that takes you to another place. So I incorporated many different elements, from the island-esque guitar to an almost thumping dance beat all the way through to even sampling my cat. All my songs always float somewhere between reality and make-believe, but I had my partner in mind for this one while writing it! You mentioned you’re from Sydney, Australia, born and raised! What’s your favorite part about the music scene there, and how has it helped shape who you are as an artist today? I am originally from Sydney, Australia, but I recently relocated to Los Angeles. The song's first line is 'You take me on a trip back to LA,' but this song was written long before I had even thought about relocating. I think the music scenes between Sydney and LA are completely different in their own ways. Sydney let me experiment with many different sounds and areas that I could go into, and I feel a lot of the trial and error helped shape and define who I am as an artist today. You released an accompanying music video for “Surreal” on your YouTube channel. What was your favorite part of bringing your vision for the music video to life? I got to work again with my long-term collaborator and best friend, Nick Karras, on this video, and we took this video from concept through to shooting and editing in less than 4 days! My favorite part of bringing this video to life was creating this dreamy, and for lack of a better word, a surreal experience where it feels like you've been transported to wonderland. What kind of experience are you trying to create with your music? I think as an artist; I want to be able to create music that is relatable to the general experience but also makes sure that it is a track that people can have fun too; whether it be singing out loud, screaming as you're driving with the windows down, having a good cry or dancing the night away to. What’s next for Jeffrey Chan? Can we expect to hear more new music soon? I'm working on a lot of new material and can't wait to share it soon! Keep your eyes peeled because I've got more music coming real soon! Instagram Artist Website
- Blast Off To Another Galaxy With C.Me’s “WATERR” Remix
One of the most beautiful things about music is its ability to make you feel. Although lyrics tell a story, well-crafted instrumentals have the same ability to move you, and sometimes music and art are more powerful when there are no words to be said. Hailing from Maryland, DC, and the Virginia area, C.Me (pronounced see-dot-me) has already established herself as a force to be reckoned with in instrumental music. With four released albums, she’s been steadily building up an impressive body of work and is poised for a breakout year. A 35th Wammie Award Nominee finalist for Best Electronica/Techno Song, C.Me’s sound is a dynamic blend of cosmic beats and instrumentals that envelop the listener in an expansive yet refined soundscape. She draws inspiration from both the East and West Coast music scenes. She skillfully blends her diverse influences to provide a final product and sound that is undeniably equal parts soulful, powerful, and cohesive. C.Me’s “WATERR” flip is the latest result of C.Me’s artistic abilities. The herald for her upcoming release “CDOTWORLD” (out on April 5th), “WATERR,” is an incredibly appetizing taste of what’s to come. It’s a perfect representation of the sound C.Me has come to embody; the instrumentals take you through the stars to another galaxy, and as you progress through the musical journey that is “WATERR,” you get the feeling that you’re on the verge of something great. There’ll be good things to come, no doubt. C. Me’s “WATERR” is an excellent introduction to a talented musician at the top of her game. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream “WATERR” (C. Me Remix), available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, C.Me! “WATERR" was so incredibly dope! Could you take us through your creative process when making this song? I am honored to have BuzzMusic conduct my first interview as a solo artist for my song “WATERR.” The creative process was fun and refreshing because I was first inspired by another music producer called Phluze, who created a 60-sec intro/snippet of the beat, "Waters.” Then I decided to take things from there by infusing his snippet with my stank, and the rest is making history! I use this handheld music-producing interface that allows me and my music studio to be mobile no matter where I am, allowing full creative fluidity I feel that more producers should do duets with other producers, so the song WATERR was my homage to that movement. How did you get into music in the first place? Give us the C.Me origin story. Music and arts have been embedded into my bloodline ever since I can remember. To this day, my dad is a DJ down in ATL, where he spins music for special needs adults and for his roadside movement tour for the “Stop The Violence” campaign, so his record/album collection is immaculate. This gave me access to the best artists and music in history. My mom has constantly introduced me to a world of art, so tying these two together, I have always had a passion for creating and being creative, and I chose to one day discover my sound through the art of music producing. What is your favorite musical memory to date? My favorite musical memory has to be when I met Dawn from EnVogue. During her autograph signing after her starring in a play at the Warner Theater in DC, I asked if she would sing a snippet of my favourite song with me from her group. Then when she did, and we harmonized, I was musically fulfilled! She is such a sweetheart for that, a memory I shall cherish forever. Your new album, “CDOTWORLD,” is out soon (April 5th, 2023, save the date!). What was it like seeing this project come to life? It was like being on an emotional rollercoaster that, this time, I chose to go on and enjoy the ride. Playing around with different formations of sounds, finally finishing beats that I had been stuck on for 2 pandemic years and being vulnerable in areas I avoided when writing music helped me bring this project to life. What was your favorite part of the creative process for bringing this project to life? Rediscovering my voice in my genre was my favorite part of the creative process for bringing CODTWORLD to life. I began music production because it gave me a sense of freedom in creating a world with its own soundtrack that people could share with me, but it also gave me a break from singing. I began feeling like I was trying to sound like other famous artists to gain popularity. Still, once I began singing my music, everything started falling beautifully into place. I have a deep singing voice, and CDOTWORLD has allowed me to flex on that rather than avoid it. So this entire creation process and seeing it come to fruition has been rejuvenating. What’s next for C.Me after “CDOTWORLD?” Do you have any other big plans for the year? Oh yes! I am so excited to be a finalist at the 2023 Wammie Awards on April 1st in Washington DC for Best Electronica/Techno song for “WATERR” where I have the opportunity to meet and collab with so many prominent artists whom I admire and watch grow into a local and international powerhouse just from being affiliated with the Wammies. Such as Ari Lennox, Rico Nasty, and Beau J. Prince, to name a few, and to watch them be Grammy nominated and winners, I feel so honored to be chosen for this opportunity. I plan on taking over every airwave as much as possible. Placements in tv/film/commercials/radio etc., because I believe everything deserves its own soundtrack and we need more female producers, so here I am, world, now welcome to mine! Instagram Facebook

- At-Risk Youth Is Ready To Make A Gamble On Love In “Lysander”
The Colorado-based trio explores new boundaries and expands its sound with its new release. With their dynamic sound and willingness to think outside the box, At-Risk Youth has gained a loyal following and continues to impress with each new release. Composed of Mark K. Foreman (lead vox, guitar), Ryan Hartline (drums) and Ali Belone (bass), the dynamic trio has quickly separated themselves from their peers with their penchant for capturing emotion and catchy choruses. Often crafting their music to fit specific themes, At-Risk Youth is proficient at forging connections with their audiences, creating soundscapes that convey the emotions they design their songs to embody. At-Risk Youth’s previous release, “Sweet Demon,” received a stellar reception; At-Risk Youth looks to follow up on their significant momentum with the equally riveting “Lysander.” Whereas “Sweet Demon” was about the allure of temptation and featured a smoother rhythm, “Lysander” is a heartfelt love song that explores the gamble of falling in love. The inspiration came to Foreman while he was auditioning for another band, and it aims to capture the nervousness of taking a chance on love and the desperation and angst one feels while doing so. Featuring instrumentals that start with a subdued yet hopeful sound, the guitar and bass quickly explode, mimicking the buildup, expectations, and explosions of emotion one feels when you part your heart on the line. Lines like “I take a breath / 'Cause I can't spit it out / I'm pretty sure / But I'm still full of doubt” intense feelings of deliberation, while lines like “And when you smile / It all comes crashing down on me / I need the shock / Of sudden clarity” captures the angst we feel waiting to know where we stand in the heart of the target of our affections. Ultimately, “Lysander” has a simple message; love, like a gamble, can lead to great rewards or crushing defeats, but the potential for happiness and fulfillment makes it a risk worth taking. At-Risk Youth’s “Lysander” is an ode to the eternal gamble we make when exploring a budding romance. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream “Lysander,” available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, At-Risk Youth. We loved “Lysander.” It was such a fresh sound, capturing the angst you feel when you develop feelings for someone! We must ask, what made you go with this love and doubt theme for this release? That's just the way it turned out. Lyrically, I usually write the chorus first, and the chorus sounded calm, but the bridge, which was the second thing I wrote, sounded somewhat desperate and broken. It all flowed from there, with the song coming together as the concept gradually solidified as I wrote it. What are your favorite memories together as a band? That's a tough question to answer. Obviously, being onstage is fantastic, and when a recording finally comes together is always a great feeling, but some of my favorite memories are just jamming and practicing together. There's a real sense of unity that's created as we lock into each other's habits and preferences. What is your favorite thing about making music? My favorite thing about making music is creation. I've always been fairly creative and have thrown myself into various forms of writing at different points, but I truly feel that songwriting is what I'm meant to do. That's what I like to do most, is write songs. And that's really what I find most enjoyable about making music–the act of creation. For those who may be new listeners, how would you describe your sound? We're a rock band. That's about it. You could argue that we take influences from many different bands and artists, but we're still, at our heart, a rock band. Of course, that means different things to different people, so I'd encourage checking us out. What’s next for At-Risk Youth? Can we expect to hear more new music soon? Yes, we're currently working on a full-length album, and we plan to release the first single from it within the next two months. That single is planned to be Big Love, and we're currently working on getting everything ready (cover art, mixing, overdubs, etc.). Facebook
- Daniela Galasso Keeps You Warm With Her New Release “Embers”
The California-raised singer and songstress returns with a heartwarming new single that will captivate audiences with its fusion of folk and electro-pop elements. Raised in the “Golden State” of California, Daniela Galasso's music is characterized by lyrical and ideological depth, fused with modern pop, indie and even folk sounds. She’s a storyteller at heart, using her significant musical prowess to paint vivid pictures and stories of relationships and love, personal struggles and even ordinary life, making her easy to relate to on the listener's part. Galasso's journey to creating "Embers" was an interesting one. Galasso made the song as part of a songwriting challenge where she was given ten words to include in a song. “Anymore” was one of those words, and it inspired the creation of the post-chorus, which added to the song's dramatic flair. After she played it live for the first time for some friends in a cabin in Tahoe, something struck, and the rest, they say, is history. “Embers” showcases Galasso's musical prowess, highlighting her signature sound that pushes and crosses genre boundaries. Over upbeat instrumentals that feature a cheery, hopeful guitar and upbeat, heartwarming synths, Galasso shifts between confident assuredness in her verses and slightly more frantic energy in the chorus, dropping lines like “If it starts snowing / We'll still be glowing” with the kind of straightforward honesty and vulnerability that instantly makes you feel like you want to root for her. We can’t wait to see how far she can go. With "Embers," Galasso continues to solidify her status as an artist to watch with her easy-to-enjoy sound and highly relatable lyrics. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream “Embers,” available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Daniela. We loved “Embers;" it made for such an easy listening experience, but it still felt like it tugged on our heartstrings! We have to ask, what clicked for you when you played “Embers” for your friends in the cabin at Tahoe? What was it like fleshing out the concept in your head to the version you decided on and perfected later? When I played Embers for my friends in Tahoe, we were cozying up in the dim-lit living room of our cabin—I played the song live on my acoustic guitar with simple strums; it felt like sharing stories around a campfire. I love that Embers was born from that simplicity, and I’ve kept the idea of woods/campfire front and center as I developed the final version. The songwriting didn’t change much from the original version…aside from changing the “Anymore” melody. I kept the song as it was when I first wrote it. Moving into production, I was torn because I both wanted to conserve the “folk-i-ness” of the lyrics and the acoustic guitar demo. Still, I also wanted to infuse fresh energy and cinematic sound of a pop production…Ultimately, I decided to do two versions, one acoustic and one with the pop sound I’ve been developing as an artist. For the pop version, me and my producer, Brennan Stuart, included organic & eclectic sounds into the mix—for example, if you listen closely at the beginning, you’ll hear a fire crackling! What drives you to make music? I feel like music is my calling. I’m drawn to it and feel my best when creating and working on my craft. I have actively tried to do other things professionally but always return to music—like a first love. Songwriting and singing are where I find the most joy, where I’m truly mesmerized––I like the challenge and creativity of making something that people want to sing along to. I’m constantly inspired by other artists. If you had to describe your music to a new listener, how would you describe it? Lately, I’ve been telling people that my music is a cross between indie-pop and folktronica like Lennon Stella meets Ellie Goulding and Maggie Rogers. I like to experiment with eclectic sounds and polished electronic instruments and write fun, catchy melodies—but also, much of my writing is reflective. It has the gentle, vulnerable sound of indie/folk music. What is your favourite music-related memory? I love to dance and got sucked into the electronic dance scene in college. Some of my favourite memories include getting together with my friends and attending music festivals to see our favourite DJs/artists. There’s nothing like experiencing that music with the energy of a crowd and the production/sound of a huge stage. Can we expect to hear new music soon? Yes, absolutely. I have some more singles releases this year, leading up to my debut EP. Instagram

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Chris Borelli! Wow, we’re feeling pretty charged up after listening to “Pronto.” We have to ask, what was the inspiration behind this track? I love to hear it! Thank you for listening. The song was inspired by a few things - one of them being timing. My first drop of the year typically has to be a banger. A fresh start always comes as an opportunity to put something out to keep the energy high for the cold winter weather. I like to take advantage of that and build excitement for the year ahead and the song itself. Musically, I'd say it has some "10 Bands" by Drake Energy in its foundation and is a bit of a follow-up to my lead single from last year, "Creases," off my "UNSAID" album. Similar tone and overall vibe but revamped and reimagined for 2023. The messaging is based on the bravado that comes with feeling like a champ at what I do and putting some shine on the network being strong as well. I've done alot of internal work around embracing my potential over the recent years, so this song is another chapter in that storyline. I was raised to be humble. But sometimes you gotta let 'em see you flex every now and then. So you mentioned you’re currently based in New York City; what’s your favorite about the music scene there, and how did it influence you as an artist? For an independent artist on the come-up, the NYC music scene is a wild one. Full of life and seemingly endless opportunities you can come across regardless of your experience. It has its pros and cons, like anything else. But the main things it's taught me are persistence and confidence. This city can take a lot out of you, but you can also receive just as much in return if you stay active and persistent in your music communities. You gotta really hustle about your craft which can be intimidating at times - but that's the feeling you want to embrace in order to see the return on your investment. The genuine respect and admiration people have for true art in NYC is special and almost coveted for me. I still have a lot more to learn on my journey here but it's been a blessing being immersed in such a beautiful community of art of culture as I do what I do best. You also mentioned you came from humble beginnings. How has music and your drive to succeed helped you overcome that, and do you have any advice for anyone trying to follow in your footsteps? I've been in NYC for about 6 years but am originally from Boston, MA, where I experienced plenty of hardship growing up—primarily family trauma but many other things. As I've gotten older, I've humbled myself quite a bit to the reality of 'struggle' being universal to all of us in some way, shape or form - especially now. For me, music creation was always the outlet. It came when I was the most helpless I could ever feel and wasn't seeking it. But I quickly realized it was the only thing that made me feel safe as I learned how to express myself and what I was going through. I had to teach myself most of what I know today, but I wouldn't want it any other way. The rawness and unexpectedness of my musical journey are part of my narrative and can never be rewritten. That truth alone brings me back to life whenever I'm feeling unsure of myself and would be my advice to anyone in a similar place where they found music/creation thru struggle. Never forget that your journey is constant - but also, stay present. The hardship you experience can be used as fuel for your art in ways only you could truly understand and leverage....and it all connects, no matter how much time, space, or pain in between. How beautiful is that? It's the struggle that makes us powerful, unique, and influential. I try my best never to forget that to this day. What do you want listeners to feel when they hear your music? It's important that listeners genuinely feel whatever they want as they hear my music. Once It's out, it's no longer just mine. It's everyone. As long as you allow yourself to be true to those feelings, I care most about that. My music can evoke all kinds of different things. But I've stayed within a realm of self-empowerment / defying odds/knowledge is power as a basis for my overall look and feel. So if you're feeling inspired, encouraged, challenged, charged up, and/or uplifted in some way, I'd say that's accurate to what I tend to give out. But I create energy just as much as I create music - being the sole architect of most of what I put out. It's the energy that I hope people respond to more than just the songs themselves. But it's entirely up to you. What’s next for you? Can we expect to hear any new music soon? For sure! Since the release of my album "UNSAID" last year, I've been leaning more towards dropping singles and collaborating with my peers as of late. So I have a couple more singles on the way and some collaborative efforts soon to come. A video is in the works, and a couple also shows to look forward to. Staying the course as usual but am excited to continue forward. Instagram Facebook
- John Hall’s Precious Memories Take Him Anywhere He Wants To Go In “I Think Of You”
John Hall is a true Renaissance man. As talented as he is, versatile and compassionate, he has spent time as a musician, songwriter, politician, and activist, managing to excel in all of these roles and leaving an indelible mark on American culture while he did so. Whether penning timeless classics like "Dance With Me" and "Still The One" as the principal force behind pop R&B band Orleans or authoring bills to help injured veterans as a Congressman, Hall has always approached his work with a sense of profound passion and purpose. Having written songs for artists like the illustrious and legendary Janis Joplin, James Taylor, and Bonnie Raitt (among others), Hall has stood toe to toe and collaborated with titans of the industry to create timeless pieces music. As a Democratic congressman in a deeply Republican district, he convinced his constituents to seriously take habitat destruction and our emperiled climate. If you're wondering what the common theme here is, it's pretty simple; compassion. With everything he does, Hall has always been motivated by the same thing; love of music, the planet, and a sense of empathy for his fellow man. With his latest release, "I Think of You," Hall proves that musically, he's picking up right where he left off. If you're looking for something beautiful and meaningful, look no further than "I Think of You" by John Hall. Whenever you're ready for a good old-fashioned dose of romance, tap in and stream "I Think of You," available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, John Hall! We loved “Think of You”; it was so romantic and nostalgic in all the right ways! We have to ask, what was the inspiration behind “Think of You?" I’ve spent some time with my sweetie sailing, on a beach, and in the mountains. I tried to capture that feeling with a song influenced by Roy Orbison, the Byrds, and the Beatles. The jangly 12-string sound comes from those bands. I didn’t have a 12, so I imitated it with two tracks of Stratocaster. So you’ve been away from the world of music for a while; what made you decide to step back in? I never stopped thinking of music and writing songs. This is the first track on my album Reclaiming My Time, referencing Congress and the musical work I might have done during ten years in elective office. What is your favorite music-related memory? Singing “Teach Your Children” with CSN with my 6-week-old daughter on my chest in a snuggli. If you had to give one piece of advice to budding musicians, what would it be? Young musicians ask me, “Should I quit work or school and do music full-time?” I say, “If you have to ask me, don’t do it. If you’re driven to do it, go for it if it’s all you want to do.” What is your goal for your music, and what’s next for you? Can we expect to hear more new music soon? I want to make music that makes people happy and/or thoughtful, portraying life's good and challenging aspects. I am working on an EP of new songs for a release later this year. Instagram Facebook
- Jekalyn Carr’s Faith Is Unshakable In “I Believe God”
For anyone even remotely familiar with gospel music, Jekalyn Carr needs no introduction. Having risen to the top of the world of gospel music through a combination of talent, dedication, creative genius, and, above all else, faith, her past eighteen months have been a whirlwind of success by any metric. We absolutely loved “I Believe in God”; it felt like we were transported to a full service in the best way possible! We wanted to ask, what was the inspiration behind this song? Were you drawing from personal experience? First, I want to say thank you, and I’m happy you’ve enjoyed the song. Singing from my personal experience! When God gave us this song, I was doing my usual thing, spending time in the presence of God. While doing so, I was also thinking about everything that we as a whole are experiencing in the world today with so much going on around us and in our personal lives to challenge our faith in who we know God to be and what we know Him to do. As I sat there worshipping and communicating with The Father, I just began to tell Him, I believe You, no matter what! Right then and there, I felt His love stronger than ever come over me as if He was saying, YES, that’s what I’ve been longing to hear from my children. My family and I got together right after and began writing. I didn’t want much going on with this particular song.. just something simple but very POWERFUL! I wanted to create an atmosphere for the people to feel what I felt at that moment. I’m telling you, I felt HEAVEN in action. Supernatural things started miraculously happening as we chanted three words, “I BELIEVE GOD.” Give us the Jekalyn Carr origin story. How did you first get involved with music? I come from a musically inclined family. I grew up around music. I was that little girl who was always in the mirror singing. I would create choirs with my cousins. I was singing to the grass as if the grass were my crowd, not knowing I was preparing to sing before the masses. It started at five when my parents recognized my gift. The choir was singing out of crucial one night in rehearsal, and I stopped them; this was the adult choir, and I told them, “Y’all are out of key,” and I gave them the correct keys. THIS opened my parent's eyes to see the “gift” of music in me, and I wasn’t just a kid singing beautifully. They nourished me spiritually and mentally; I’ve been going strong ever since. The past eighteen months have been wildly successful for you (congratulations!). For any new listeners out there, what separates your music from the rest, and how do you avoid becoming complacent? Thank you so much- I greatly appreciate that. I would have to say... I try to operate in my lane. I know that my lane mostly consists of pushing and encouraging others. You’d be surprised at how many people feel like they don’t deserve to have the best in life. They don’t deserve to live their dreams. They deserve to live out their purpose. People have tried, yet they have failed, and they’ve given up. I believe that my calling is to let them know... you can thrive and prosper in life despite your background, where you come from, how many times you’ve tried to write the book, how many times you’ve tried to pursue your dreams and it didn’t work out for you… my goal is to encourage you to keep going and fighting the good fight of faith! I also feel that is what makes my music stand out, and because of that, souls have been saved, and many testimonies have been shared. I’m grateful to God! What helps me not to become complacent is understanding and knowing that there are more people to reach. There are more people to be touched and to be inspired. I feel like there’s always more for me to give as long as I'm alive. I always want to remember that it’s not about me. I have been blessed to bless others. It’s a beautiful thing to wake up and live life according to your purpose. Also, yes, I have accomplished a lot. I’ve done a lot, but I know this is not all. I believe that there is more, and every day God gives me. I want to continue to work hard to see that “more.” If you wanted your listeners to take one thing away from your music, what would it be? Reiterating a statement I’ve said before. I ALWAYS want others to know that life does get better. I know that sometimes when facing challenges and going through difficult things, it can become hard for you to see that. It’s a fact that we all face different things according to our journeys; however, I firmly believe that despite the challenge, the truth is YOU CAN STILL WIN. You can still come out on top. I want people’s faith to be intensified and to believe that we were born to conquer. There is a champion on the inside of each and every one of us, and sometimes we need that push from somewhere to gain the strength to fight through what we feel opposes this truth. I want my music to always be in a position to help. Most importantly, I want others to know that God is real, and not only is God real, but God loves you, and he wants to give you His best. What’s next for Jekalyn Carr? Any big plans for the rest of the year, and can we expect to hear more new music soon? Yes, There’s so much I’m working on for this entire year. Some of those things, in particular, are I am getting ready to come out in a movie called Praise This that’s produced by Will Packer. I am also excited to be doing my “You Will Win” conference again this year. My last stop for it was in Orlando, Fl, before covid and the pandemic hit, and this year I’m back at it stronger than ever, bringing it to Atlanta, Georgia. It’s going to be an amazing two days, June 23rd & 24th. The ultimate target with my conference is winning in EVERY area of our Life, and I’m bringing in all of the necessary tools and strategies to help us achieve this target. It’s about reaching the people from both the spiritual aspect and the natural… We’re targeting it all from faith, family relationships, the marketplace, finances etc.… I’m bringing in some amazing people who will teach, preach, sing, educate, and encourage us. My ultimate goal is for everyone to leave on FULL! I am also doing more music. I’m releasing the I BELIEVE GOD album this year, and I’m excited about that as well. There is so much more I’m working on, and I’m excited to see all of the great things that God is continuing to do in my life. Instagram Twitter
- Scarlet View Thrashes, Thrives And Overcomes In “Never Comin Down”
Sometimes, disaster is the catalyst for something new and amazing. This would be the case for Kansas City-based alternative rock band Scarlet View. Following a disastrous tour with their side project Stories Through Storms, Bryce Loewenstein (vocals) and STS former bassist Chris Kassein joined forces to bring the four-piece octane rock band to life in 2019, and the rest, as they say, is history. Scarlet View's passion for rock and roll remains unbreakable despite their challenges. Scarlet View's dedication to their craft has been unshakable, having dealt with abducted bassists, sleeping in a van with no AC for weeks, and members quitting days before a show. In 2021, they made their national debut on Sumerian Records' hit show "No Cover" in March 2021, showcasing their talent alongside legendary artists such as Alice Cooper, Lzzy Hale, Gavin Rossdale, Bishop Briggs, and Tosin Abasi. Now set to release their debut single, “Never Comin Down,” on March 10th, the talented group looks to make their mark in the wild world of rock ‘n’ roll. The accompanying music video for “Never Comin Down” features their good friend Scott Stephenson as the focus of the video. As a wicked guitar and thrashing drums form the instrumental backdrop, Stephenson, a US Army veteran injured during his tour in 2006, struggles to get up but ultimately breaks free and ventures forth. With lyrics like “Look at the sky and see my wings / So high, I'll fly away” and “Look at the sky and see my wings / Look at me now,” Scarlet View dares you to look down on them and Stephenson, as they ultimately prevail and overcome—the song's message centers around perseverance and determination in the face of adversity. The opening lyric, "So low these vultures try to ground me," represents the negative influences that can weigh us down. Scarlet View is poised to make a statement in the alternative rock world with its debut single and video. When you’re ready, tap in and stream “Never Coming Down,” Watch the accompanying music video, out March 10th. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Scarlet View! Damn, what a statement for your first release! We have to ask, what was the inspiration behind this song? Were you drawing from some of the adversity you’ve had to overcome to make it to this point? NEVER COMIN DOWN came up as a reminder that no matter the hardships life brings your way, there is a reason to stand up every day. The title stems from the idea that through battling and overcoming personal demons, your wings will grow, and nothing will bring you back down that low again. I very much believe that pain- physically and mentally- exists to help us grow internally. It is up to us whether we let said pain turn us bitter and cold or build back stronger than ever before. “Look at the sky and see my wings, So high I’ll fly away…” Where did the inspiration behind the music video come from, and what was your favorite part about bringing the vision for the music video to life? We brought in a good friend named Scott Stephenson to feature as the focal point of the accompanying music video. Scott toured with the US Army 3/509th Airborne Infantry Battalion from ‘04-09, becoming injured in ‘06. The song starts with the lyric, “So low these vultures try to ground me…”. To us, the vultures represent a variety of negative influences that attempt to break each of us down when we are at our lowest. From physical pain to anxiety and spiraling depression, we hope that each listener can connect with the sentiment of these ‘vultures.’ We all have our own vultures and struggles. The message we are trying to convey says no matter the hardships, no matter the past, we make the present in every waking breath. We will never back down. Our favorite part about bringing the vision to life was being able to direct the video ourselves. We were fortunate to have our hands on every step of the process alongside our good friend and Director of Photography, Andy Rivera from Rivera Studios, on the camera. You’ve faced a lot of adversity to make it this far; what keeps are you going? Simply put our love and passion for music keep us going daily. We have dedicated our lives to the craft and couldn’t imagine doing anything other than expressing ourselves through this art form. This track is focused on encouragement, consolation, community, and uplifting one another. For any new listeners, how would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard you before? Imagine dynamic and honest vocal energy, a rhythm section tight like Dirt era Alice In Chains, a guitar tone like the Deftones, and Scarlet View is born. With an energy that matches Asking Alexandria live, Scarlet View aims to deliver a polished rawness like Guns & Roses in ‘87. What’s next for Scarlet View? Can we expect to hear more new music soon? The band has some tour dates on the books for March and will be hitting the road intensely as the year progresses. As for new music, we have more singles and videos that we are anticipating to release this year as well. Scarlet View is even working on another new video as we speak… Instagram Facebook
