- Jessy Barham Brings Her Fiery Vocals To Life In Her Recent Single, “Locked Door”
Jessy Barham captivates her listeners as she tells her story in her recent hip-hip-influenced song "Locked Door." From San Diego, California, Jessy Barham grew up listening to various songs, which sparked her love for wanting to be an artist. Jessy Barham took influence from classical, folk, and metal music which helped her interpret her music better, mixing her favorite sounds and lyrics to match the mood. Jessy Barham's outlook on life is evident as she strives to create better music, mingle with new people, and create beautiful memories that she'll later use to create a song. Jessy brings us flavourful sonics with relatable lyrics that keep us on our toes while every vocal coming from her lips is eclectic, fiery, and bold in her recent single "Locked Door," here, she talks about topics not often discussed to keep the peace. "Locked Door" has a blissful instrumental that screams unique. It gives us time to build our thoughts right before Jessy enters with her fierce vocals and melody as she tells us how people are so easily influenced and deceived as she pairs it with a funky hip-hop-style beat. She mentions how she sees things differently and how it's essential to know what we are doing, watching, and intaking in times like these. "I'm the only one I trust," and "When will we see that everything we've been told is a lie?" Jessy has her thoughts set out and relies on self-mentality to build herself, grow, and heal. Everything about "Locked Door" creates a feeling we'd love to hold onto forever. Catch a refreshing vibe with Jessy Barham and her recent release, "Locked Door," available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jessy. We truly appreciate such a relatable anthem for our times like "Locked Doors." What inspired you to write about the topic you did? I wrote Locked Door about the current political state of the US. A lot of people willingly believe those in charge have their best interest at heart and always tell the truth. I wrote this song to tell people not to believe everything they hear and do their own research. What was the most rewarding part about creating "Locked Door?" The most rewarding part about writing Locked Door was trying out a different style of music. I like metal music, and Locked Door has metal influences. I am a solo alternative artist, not part of a metal band, so it was amazing how my teacher Alex and I could create a metal-like song without a band. I also combined another music genre, rap, into Locked Door. I’m not a big fan of rap music, but I thought it would be cool to combine rap and metal with Locked Door and have a Linkin Park-like song. How did you want the production and sonic in "Locked Door" to make listeners feel? What was your goal with "Locked Door" and its overall atmosphere? Locked Door is not a song to listen to if you want to relax. With the aggressive rap-metal sound, I would consider it more of a workout song or a song for head-banging. The lyrics aren’t gentle, either. In the first verse, I talk about people being zombies with their heads in the sand. Then I mention that they are lambs to the slaughter, falling for the bait. Metal music is known for having intense and brutally honest lyrics, so that was the effect I was going for. I wanted to create a song to make people think and take them out of their comfort zone. What impact do you hope "Locked Door" has on your audience? I hope Locked Door makes people think about the world around them more and not take everything at face value. I also hope my song gives people more perspective about how those in power don’t always have citizens' best interests at heart. You see this with dictatorships throughout history, from World War II Germany to Russia. Fortunately, The US is a democracy, but we should be careful not to let power-hungry people try to control us. Freedom is important, and we should defend it. Instagram
- Jeffrey Chan Jumps “Over” a Past Relationship in a Brilliant New Single
Blessing our ears from Sydney, Australia, is a singer-songwriter and retro-influenced electro-pop recording artist Jeffrey Chan with his new beaming and resilient single, "Over." Whenever you want pop music with retro influences and a modern electronic edge, Jeffrey Chan's tunes are your best bet. He's unafraid to push the boundaries in music creation, which landed him roughly one million cumulative streams in two years alone. He's amassed a loyal following that constantly returns to explore the themes and concepts of his new releases. Now, the Australian pop artist is sharpening his retro meets modern sound with a new cathartic single, "Over." His second release of the year, this new song discusses "the moment when you have finally come to terms with the end of a relationship. I wanted to capture that feeling when you're looking back at everything that happened, both the good and the bad," explains Chan. Jumping into the vibrant new tune, "Over," the song pounces openly with a cosmic array of synths that send us into the danceable, retro, and groovy first verse. Jeffrey Chan's smooth and crooning vocals bring us deep into his personal situation with a past relationship while the sonics pump through our speakers with sounds reminiscent of Eurythmics, Duran Duran, and Daft Punk. We love the equal amounts of emotion and groove that seep through this single; Jeffrey Chan's introspective lyrics and thoughts are highly relatable, and his exhilarating sonics feel like unleashing years of pent-up emotion and confusion. It's a reflective song, to say the least, but one that keeps you hooked with retro 80s synthpop sounds and infectious rhythm that travels from head to toe. When love and loss have you down, pick yourself up with the high-energy and relatable listening experience from Jeffrey Chan's new single, "Over," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jeffrey Chan. We're truly infatuated with the groove and emotion within your new cathartic single, "Over." When did you feel inspired to write a song about accepting that a relationship is "Over?" I wanted to really capture that unique feeling that comes with accepting that a relationship is ‘over’; I wanted to explore not only the heartbreak but also the acceptance and almost sense of defeat that it comes with. It isn’t necessarily only about relationships, but it can also be any sense of loss or the idea of a certain chapter in your life coming to a close. I wanted to write about that because we usually get a lot of angry or sad breakup songs, but we never get an “Okay, well, I guess it’s over, here’s how I'm feeling” type of song. Why did you want to give the production for "Over" this exciting electronic and synthpop groove, even though your lyrics are quite emotional? With the release of my past few singles, I’ve started diving more into a lot of the retro influences and new wave sounds that have been inspiring me, and I wanted to take those and turn it up to 100 on this track. At the heart of it, “Over” is about accepting the fact that your relationship is coming to an end, and I wanted to create a song that talked about that but also allowed you to escape into a better place and different mindset. I wanted the music video to also reinforce this idea of forgetting about your troubles and dancing through your tears. Speaking of your emotional lyricism in "Over," what was your songwriting process like? What was your experience writing such personal and reflective lyrics about love and loss? I really wanted to capture the feeling and tell the story from a first-person perspective of what love and loss feel like and how certain memories look different once you reflect back on them. At the same time, I didn’t want the lyrics to be shrouded in absolute misery, so I juxtaposed the lyrics against a very upbeat and almost ’80s workout track’ style production. I feel that this is the perfect song for dancing through your heartbreak and trying to see the best in a bad situation almost (that's definitely what I hoped to convey in the music video, which you should check out because I feel it gives the track another layer of meaning) What was the most rewarding part about creating "Over?" What did you take away and appreciate most from making this shimmering new tune? The most rewarding part was definitely just being able to explore another facet of songwriting and writing from a different point of view lyrically. It also felt very cathartic because this release seemed to line up quite perfectly with the end of a chapter in some aspects of my professional life (almost as if it was meant to be). I was so happy to once again get to work with my best friend (Nick Karras), who has been my partner in crime on all my video releases for a while now, and we always just have a blast filming all these different concepts and looks. In her newest single, "Mama Said," Elle E.D. brings that rejuvenating hope and motivation for young women everywhere, which is brought to life in the song's music video, reminiscent of MTV's prime era. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Elle E.D. We love the attention-grabbing and engaging nature of your recent single, "Mama Said." So what inspired you to create this feel-good and motivational bop? My mama is not only literally the portal to my life here on Earth, but she poured so many great things into me and made me the Lil firecracker that I am. As I started to share myself with the world, I had to make sure I took the time to give her and all the mamas out there their flowers. Also, all the mama songs out there are slow. The world was overdue for a bop for all the mamas that are still having a good time! What was your songwriting process like for "Mama Said?" Was it enjoyable to write such upbeat and inspirational bars and lyrics? It was a fun process. Devine Evans, The song Producer, encouraged me to write a song about my mama that reflected all of the wild stories I would share with him about her. She was truly one of a kind. I try not to take anything too seriously. My thought process is usually, how can I be truthful, confrontational, and fun at the same time? There's a reality in the lyrics about tough love making strong women. She prepared me for the world so that I could successfully have fun in the world. How did you come up with the concept for the "Mama Said" music video? Did you have any directors or producers help bring your ideas to life? My brain is always spinning with colorful concepts. From the second I met (viral sensation) Zoey Zanai, I knew I wanted to base the music video around her because she reminded me so much of me as a child. Hanging out with her felt like I got to hang out with my younger self. So I brought the concept of letting her be the driving energy of the video to my incredibly talented director and close friend, Daniel Sabouné, and he helped me expand on that vision and truly bring it to life. Who did you create "Mama Said" for? What sort of person do you feel needs to hear "Mama Said" the most? Mama Said is not only for all the mamas out there (bonus mommy's included). But also for every little kid to repeat those words confidently and remember that they can do and be anything…as long as they work hard for it. So really it's for everybody. It's a mantra for going out there and being your best self always! Cuz mama said! What's next for you? More music is on the way! And more live shows! I am working on creating some really unique experiences for my audience to enjoy my music in many different ways. I'm excited for people to grow with me. I'm chiseling my way through a heavily saturated market, but the music really does speak for itself. I'm about my art first. No gimmicks over here…I am sharing an authentic piece of myself with my audience, and it's going to be fun growing together! Instagram

You've truly helped us channel our inner "Boss Bitch" with your recent single. What inspired you to write this playful yet confident new track? The inspiration for "Boss Bitch" came from me reflecting on my journey so far and realizing that I have done a lot of courageous things, and I wanted to give myself credit for all my hard work. Sometimes we as people don't do that enough. We are always seeking external validation. It's good to toot your own horn once in a while, Lol! Did you work with any producers to help bring the production to life for "Boss Bitch?" What sound or vibe did you have in mind for the song? "Boss Bitch" is written by me, and the beat is produced by Joshua Diedericks, aka Guy Beats. It is engineered by Josh Eastman at Helm Studios in Vancouver, Canada. I wanted something that was hard-hitting and swanky. Something that conveyed confidence and self-assurance. What was your favorite part about creating "Boss Bitch?" What parts of the process did you enjoy the most? The songwriting process is my favorite part of creating music in general. I enjoy vibing out to a beat and seeing what instinctively comes to me. Usually, a line or melody or a concept will come to mind, and I expand on that. I am amazed at how what is, at first, nothing becomes a full product. Creating is fascinating in that sense. What do you hope "Boss Bitch" does for listeners? Do you hope they get a sense of confidence or enthusiasm after hearing this new song? Absolutely! I love to make music that inspires people to feel good about themselves. I think we all struggle with insecurities, and I just want to remind myself and others that we are something special. Faymo's melodic vocal appearance grabs our attention with his radiating emotion and honesty, helping listeners get to know a more personal side of him and his thoughts. All while Faymo serenades us with his smooth-sailing yet introspective bars, the sonics dance in the background while pouring through our speakers with the same emotion that Faymo brings to the table. It's one of the most genuine and emotional r&b/hip-hop songs we've heard this year, and we're sure listeners will appreciate Faymo's ability to dance between these genres and bring you deep into his conceptual bars. Steer clear of negativity and lose yourself in the introspective atmosphere of Faymo's new single, "Don't Kill My Vibe," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Faymo. We love the blanket of emotion and tender vibes you delivered in your new single, "Don't Kill My Vibe." What was your main source of inspiration behind the introspective piece? I was bumpin’ Kendrick Lamar’s “Don’t Kill My Vibe,” and you know, everyone goes through that time of day when something just kills their vibe. At the time, EVERYTHING was killin’ my vibe, so I had that “I don’t give a fuck” type of attitude and just made the song sound vibey and just toxic, and nowadays, for some reason, everyone loves being toxic. What was it like sitting yourself down to write such reflective and emotional lyrics and bars for "Don't Kill My Vibe?" What was your songwriting process like? Found a beat I liked, had it on repeat, and from there, I would just hum or spit in gibberish just to get a flow, then from there, I just write down whatever comes to mind, and sometimes I also just hit record and just go off the top like one to two liners, and if I like it I keep it, if not I scrap it. While I was writing the song, the first line of the hook just came to me because I was just drinking normal juice, hahaha, like literal Minute Maid on my table, and I’m just vibing to the beat and writing. How does "Don't Kill My Vibe" help new listeners get to know your sound and style better? Do you usually create such moody, relaxed, and personal songs like this? I’ve always had that mentality where I shouldn’t ONLY focus on one type of genre, like, let's say, Rap, and just stay in that category, I want to be known as that diverse artist, you know? Like he’s THE artist that diversified his music, not just only staying in that rap category, I’ve moved into the R&B genre, trying to step into that pop and electronic world and another genre’s out there, just gotta put my mind to it. Yea, I try to create songs that are more moody/relaxed, something to vibe to, smoke to, go on a late night drive type music. There’s a lover boy side, too, where it’s more, you know, emotional, love, heartbreaks, etc… Something people can relate to. What sort of listening experience did you want to give listeners with "Don't Kill My Vibe?" What did you want this song to offer? "Don’t Kill My Vibe” is a song to enjoy while you’re driving, smoking, drinking, or whatever; it’s that type of song you can just bump and get lit to, and it’s simple, not much going on in the song, that’s how I wanted it to be, a moody but vibey song. The lyrics are pretty toxic/savage like the listeners would hear the words and be like, “yo, that’s fucked up,” “no way he said that,” etc…but at the end of the day, people still gonna listen to it regardless of what I say, it’s just a vibey song to bump! What's next for you? Gonna be working on some new music; I’m taking my time with it, not rushing anything. I gotta put my mind to what I want and how I want the songs to sound. I already have an album that’s done, but I’m just working on the track list, the order I want the songs in, and removing and adding songs to the album. It’s a 3 part album put into 1. The first part got that old-school rap, the second part is more than new school / melodic rap, and the third part contains R&B., So I hope when that time comes to drop the album, everyone’s ready for that for real. Just like BBD’s slogan, I got that “Hip-Hop Smoothed Out on the R&B Tip With a Pop Feel Appeal to it.” I hope you enjoy the new music I’m gonna be dropping soon, different styles, different vibes. When you want to groove all night long, keep your energy alive with the help of The Steadies' latest single, "Can't Stop Dancin'," now available on all digital streaming platforms. What an exciting and energizing experience you've offered with your recent single, "Can't Stop Dancin'." What inspired your band to create such a carefree and lively track like this? “Can’t Stop Dancin’” stands apart from the other tracks on our EP in a couple of different ways, the first being that the main inspiration was to create a track that would capture the feeling of our live shows perfectly. One of our main goals with our live shows is to bring a high-energy set that is impossible not to dance to, and we think that we’ve achieved that feeling with this single too. The main overall inspiration was definitely to bring the feel-good vibes from our live shows to the listener! Could you take us through what your band's creative process was like when formulating "Can't Stop Dancin'"? How did you bring the song to life? The creative process was definitely unique in this song to others we have done in the past. The members of our band are based out of 3 Canadian cities (Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Victoria). Usually, we would record the bed tracks and initial parts of our songs altogether in the same room. The pandemic created a new set of challenges for us with that, and we had to begin writing and recording songs in a different way. With the initial idea being ready, we all began to share parts recorded at our own home studios instead of recording them all in the same room. When our drummer (and producer) Kurtis Schultz received all of the parts, he began rearranging, editing, and chopping up parts to make the perfect arrangement that wouldn’t be possible without working on the song in this new format. This new process of recording for us may have taken a bit longer than usual, but the extra time allowed us to try different creative directions than would have been possible in a traditional route. Even though we weren’t in the same room for the recording, trying something new and experimenting with the creative process in a different way really allowed us to inject a playful mindset into the song, which we felt really also helped to achieve the high energy feeling that helps achieve our initial goal with this song! What was your goal in terms of the listener's experience with "Can't Stop Dancin'"? What did you want the song to offer them? The goal for this song was always to provide the energy and good vibes of our concerts to listeners at home. The primary focus while recording every part and when remixing anything into a new arrangement was to keep the energy throughout the track at a constant high. Despite this, in order to keep the track novel and to avoid any repetition, a secondary goal was to add new sonic experiences throughout the track in between choruses, offering several unique moments throughout the song, from bass breaks to filtered guitar transitions. This has been a ton of fun to translate back to our live show, and the different moments throughout this song have ended up becoming some of our favorite parts of our live show now! How does "Can't Stop Dancin'" relate to the theme of your new EP, TRIKETRA: Mind? From a lyrical standpoint, the rest of the EP dives deep into the theme of the Mind and occasionally grapples with difficult obstacles to mental health, while the inspiration for “Can’t Stop Dancin’” serves more as a solution; living in the moment and enjoying the beautiful parts of life can provide a remedy to the difficult parts of the mental experience. Being a song with the goal of providing that live show feeling, “Can’t Stop Dancin’” explores the nuances of a satisfying, positive mental experience and serves as a sonic representation of that at the same time. Music can be a great respite from difficult times, and we hope that this song has been a positive, uplifting experience to those that have had the chance to listen! Instagram Facebook

Having won awards like the 2020 W.A.M Best R&B Album and performing at high-profile events like Full Figured Fashion Week in New York City, there's no end in sight for the dedicated recording artist. More recently, Kay Soul released her passionate and chilling new 6-track EP, Connections, a companion project to In My Mind that brings five new stories that examine connections with ourselves and others. The new EP begins with the short and sweet introductory track, title track, and interlude "Connections (Intro)." Kay Soul sets the tone with warm piano melodies and her breathy, angelic vocals that remind us how life is all about the connections we make. It's a gentle and harmonious intro track that softly lingers into the album's second tune. As our ears greet track number two, "Bad Connection," the same instrumental as the intro track drifts through while Kay Soul delivers her powerful and vibrant vocals. She emotionally discusses the fragile state of a relationship and the love that once was, signifying the "Bad Connection" that's keeping them apart. This is an incredibly personal and passionate track that examines the bittersweet connections we make and how they impact our journey to healing. Onto a different kind of connection, the third track, "Disconnection," pours through our speakers with heavy, sultry, and robust r&b production that borders on ethereal electronic music. Kay Soul takes her time in this song while discussing how everything wrong comes to light and how disconnected we are from each other. It's a deeply reflective and introspective tune that calmly dances through the speakers with Kay Soul's poetic lyrics and tender production. Reaching the EP's second half with track number four, "Lost Connection," Kay Soul blesses us with a melodic and percussion-heavy r&b beat that borders modern hip-hop with tight synths and rumbling snares. Kay Soul uses this song to examine how it's okay to lose connections, as the people we meet and the connections we make on our journey aren't always meant to last for life. Kay Soul's passion, power, and pent-up emotions in this song are palpable, and it's perhaps our favorite song on the project. Diving headfirst into the strength and love of the EP's fifth track, "Reconnection," we're greeted with soul-soothing r&b production alongside Kay Soul's harmonious vocals that rain down from above. Listening to her tender lyrics, Soul dives headfirst into her passionate thoughts that remind us how some people are worth reconnecting with. And it's those reconnections that help us relearn how to love ourselves and grow. Landing on the sixth and final track of the project, "Strong Connection," this dizzying and downtempo r&b tune kicks off with tightly-knit drum arrangements and ethereal background sonics that represent a sea of boundless love. Kay Soul's lyrics ooze with all the love and passion we could ask for, confessing her love for someone special and how their "Strong Connection" will stand the test of time. It's an incredible way to close the project, sending listeners off with endless emotion, love, and bliss. When you need a passionate r&b project you can connect with, look no further than Kay Soul's new 6-track EP, Connections, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Kay Soul. Congratulations on releasing your conceptual and passionate new EP, Connections. What inspired you to create a project around the theme of life connections? I am a healing artist and a cause warrior for mental health awareness. I felt it was important to discuss the connections we have with ourselves and others and how those connections impact our mental and emotional well-being. Which song from Connections is the most personal to you? What makes you so drawn to this particular song? All the songs are personal to me. Each song represents a story of emotions and thoughts that I have experienced in my own life on my personal healing journey. If I had to pick one song, it would be Reconnection because I feel like when I reconnected to who I truly was inside, I began to have a better understanding of my purpose and the calling in my life. How is Connections the companion project of In My Mind? How do these two projects relate to each other? In My Mind was all about shared thoughts and emotions coming from a place of immense pain yet hope, knowing that there is beauty in your broken spaces. Connections are the next step in the reflective healing journey because of the part that connections play in our lives. The Connections EP takes the broken pieces that were expressed in "In My Mind" and shows the power that can be gained from using your pain to fuel your purpose. I'm singing from the other side in a more healed place of understanding in myself and my purpose in life and music. What was your favorite part about creating the entire EP, Connections? What did you take away from the experience? I always enjoy the process of writing and recording new music. I enjoyed the intentionality of it and challenging myself to stick to one cohesive theme. I wanted to push myself lyrically and sonically and show more of my versatility as an artist. I learned more about my own abilities and how I want to continue to build a meaningful artist catalog that will be an inspiration for years to come. What was your goal in terms of the listener's experience when hearing Connections? What did you want them to feel and think? I wanted to get right to the heart of the matter and pierce the soul. I'm hoping that listeners will be inspired to examine, grow, build, and heal the connections in their lives, whether it be to people, places, habits, or routines. I want them to think about their own happiness and be encouraged to take the steps necessary to go from Bad Connection to a Strong Connection. Instagram Facebook

This song is about the internal struggle of trying to suppress the desire for intimacy while on the path of self-discovery. This sexy song has heavy-hitting lyrics and a catchy beat you will have a hard time not dancing to. BrandosLife calls out for love and intimacy in this powerful banger that has notes of classic R&B, dance hall, and modern rap music. The moment this song begins, you feel a connection that starts from the gut. "Saviour" is the embodiment of the idea that sometimes we need to internally picture what we really want with assurance and purpose. How can I just make you see that you and I were meant to be? BrandosLife’s enticing vocals and purposeful lyrics are something else. You will be taken to yet another level of musical satisfaction with this sex-inducing song. Thank you for being with us at BuzzMusic, BandosLife. "Saviour" is a purposeful and sexy song that talks about intimacy and flirtation. Do you think you practice what you preach when you put your intentions out there? If I'm being honest, I really don't. I'm so shy when it comes to making moves on people, haha. Definitely stems from a small bit of fear of rejection, but we are getting there slowly. All in time and practice. This song has taught me a lot of things; listening to your heart has to be the biggest. Was there a moment when you weren’t able to express what you intended with "Saviour?" Yes, it's still an everyday struggle. Being vulnerable to your feelings is scary. You're essentially letting someone see that I believe to be in yourself in your purest form. It's daring and brave pulling your guard down but extremely healthy. We all gotta find someone that we can be open and honest with, whether that's friends, family, or the person you're feeling. How do you think this song will help people struggling with their self-awareness and intimacy? I hope that "SAVIOUR" gives people something to fall back on; all the themes are universal. It's likely everyone will go through a phase of having to be transparent with their feelings/desires. Once you come to grips with what you want, whether that's visually first, it's just a matter of time before putting it into practice. I hope it inspires people to live in the moment, be unreserved and act on special feelings that they try so hard to deny. Allow yourself to be open to love and all its layers. It's human. Is there something you would like to tell yourself from the past through this song? To stop being so afraid and stuck in your head. It's 100% worth it to say how you're feeling, especially for your mental health. Take it all in baby steps. You'll know when you're ready. What's next for you? I'm currently working on a few songs here and there, so hopefully two more singles by the end of the year. Other than that, just doing some shows around London to further get my name out there and promote "SAVIOUR." Instagram Twitter

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Shawn Brown. We adore the passionate and personal message within your recent single, "Find Another Way." What inspired you to write this inspirational and cinematic tune? It’s awesome to be here with you guys, and thanks for the kind words about “Find Another Way”. We took a really big swing with that song, so I’m happy to hear you’re liking it! More than anything, I’d been thinking a lot about nostalgia and how much of a head-fake it can be. We all have these super flawed lenses when we remember back to our lives. Our memories aren’t terribly reliable as a result, so it’s an interesting relationship we carry along with our own stories. Our stories are deeply rooted in the core of who we are and, at the same time, often total BS. So basically, the song is about that complicated interaction between our flawed versions of the past and how we generate hope in the future. Did you encounter any personal challenges when opening up and writing your lyrics for "Find Another Way"? What was that songwriting process like? It wasn’t a difficult song to write lyrically. Thankfully, it all came pretty quickly - which is unusual for me. You mentioned the cinematic feel before; that part was where a lot of the real “sweat equity” went. Grecco Buratto kept pushing the build of the song, which is where you can really feel the string arrangement crushing it. What core message did you want to share with listeners through "Find Another Way?" What did you want them to realize or take away? It’s a good question. I like the idea that our plans rarely come to fruition, and practicing the flexibility to pivot to Plan B or C becomes one of our greatest strengths - if we choose to look at things that way. That's probably the main message, we can all figure out hard things. What did you take away from creating "Find Another Way?" What moments or experiences about the process did you appreciate most? It feels like a bit of a landmark song for me, somehow. Throughout the Covid lockdown, Rafa Lima and Grecco Buratto had been fine-tuning this super fun production process, which ended up involving Brendan Buckley and lots of other super talented folks. I think “Find Another Way” - the track - probably represents the best of that process. What's next for you? There’s a lot happening with the release of “The Rain Parade” EP and getting the word out about it. There are more and more live shows posting, so I’m really looking forward to playing the new songs for folks. Super fun! You just released your EP 'The Rain Parade,' tell us about the new music and the meaning behind it. I had a lot to say in these new songs; with all the political unrest, climate challenges, and continued racial and economic disparity - it’s hard not to get beat down by it all. More than anything, “The Rain Parade” is about working with the “gray” and trying to avoid all those binary, either/or thinking traps. We’ve all gotta get better at staying out of those and working in between! Where can people find your music online and on vinyl? Thanks for asking! “The Rain Parade” EP is now streaming everywhere, so you can jump on your preferred platform and go to town. We’ve got limited edition vinyl copies over at the Shawn Brown Online Shop, so grab a copy there while we’ve got um. (https://shawn-brown.myshopify.com) Instagram Facebook
