- Amoreena’s New Single "Blind Devotion," Is A Beautiful Poetic Call To The Hopeless Romantics
Amoreena's new single "Blind Devotion" is a beautiful and poetic call to the deities of hopeless romanticism. With a laid-back vocal melody and falsetto chorus that is sure to charm listeners, she shares a story of love so blindly strong there's no telling who will get hurt in the end. Amoreena is an up-and-coming artist who is dubbing her genre "Drama-pop." This new genre is a mix of sounds and influences reminiscent of pop artists Rina Sawayama, Marina (and the Diamonds), The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, and Charli XCX with 80’s Femme Diva’s Pat Benatar, Bonnie Tyler, and Kate Bush. What drives the Drama-pop aesthetic is her focus on lyrical clarity, developed from her love of Emily Dickinson and poets of old. Amoreena embellishes her stories with dramatic poetry and brings them to life with pop melodies, a sultry strong vocal, and production that ignites something new and exciting to fantasize within. If you're looking for a new artist to fall in love with, look no further than Amoreena. Her "Blind Devotion" is sure to charm and enchant you. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Amoreena. We are so excited to have a pioneer of a new genre with us. What inspired you to own your unique perspective on music? Thank you so much; I’m so glad to be speaking with BuzzMusic again! My perspective on music, I believe, has been created from collaboration and inspiration. When I look back at artists like Kate Bush, who is gaining more popularity than ever now, or the likes of Lady Gaga, who have so flawlessly mixed art, fashion, and pop to make this beautiful word - I’ve thought about how I want my music to be perceived and listened to, and I believe I write lyrics in a very dramatic sense - like poets of old. And what better way to be perceived than dramatic? With all of the pieces put together, each song I’ve created feels like an entire show in itself. It is obvious Blind Devotion came from the heart. Will you share with us the situation and your experience that inspired you? Blind Devotion was really born out of the idea of blind faith in your relationship and love for someone. Someone you would give anything for, especially in the early stages of your relationship, the so-called “honeymoon phase.” As I was trying to get out of a writing slump, I decided to use this song as more of a therapy session - I don’t typically write happy love songs often. Hence, it was a good exercise for me lyrically and instrumentally to do. Where do you envision your music career will carry you? We are excited to be along for the ride. I just want to make people smile and for my music to be on their healing journeys just as it has helped to heal me by creating it. As an artist, how do you think your experiences growing up have shaped your music? Ooo, this is such a great question. I think my experiences growing up shaped my music by me needing to find an outlet for the creativity I was entirely sure how to handle. From a young age, I was enthralled with all different mediums of art - like painting, drawing, even acting, and dancing. Music is always what I would come back to to help express the emotions I didn’t quite understand, even from a young age. Then I began to find my voice through children's choir - and it’s been a wild ride ever since! What's next for you? I’m looking to begin finishing up this album and also start rounding out the next one. I’ve started writing new pieces that don’t necessarily go with the storyline of this album, so I’ve started to sketch out where I want the next few pieces to pan out release wise in the future. I also will be releasing music with Streetlight Satin, a band that Chris Lantry of BootKnife and I have created - I’m really excited to be doing more rock type music with that band as well. - Saltwater Flows Deep As They Spread Hope and Healing in Their Recent Single “One More Day”
In their recent single "One More Day," Saltwater shows gratuity, humility, and passion all in one, the record, is accompanied by the perfect production to bring us a joyous feeling we've longed for. Saltwater is an acoustic trio based in Tel-Aviv, Israel, that plays original alternative folk music. The trio met back when they were studying for an undergraduate music degree. Fast forward to 2019, they started singing and playing their instruments in Jaffa Port and the surrounding seas. Saltwater simultaneously recorded and created their own original music while performing at local venues. Each three carries an equal amount of responsibility; therefore, they thrive on making music with deeper connections and relatable inner-personal experiences. Welcomed by Saltwater, we experience a sense of calmness and peace as the vocals and instrumental merge so gracefully to give us hope and a sense of relief in "One More Day." The road is bright as Saltwater starts with the most beautiful piano keys, and as Eliana enters, she blends in so effectively with Doron & Tal to formulate the most flourishing record you've heard. Eliana talks about how she wishes things were different than how it is in lyrics like "Why couldn't he save just another day" and "Then how are we to blame." We identify the feelings and questions asked in "One More Day," which are entirely relatable for most at the most challenging moments of their lives. Saltwater continues on to talk about her thoughts and the endless craving for better, not only for them but everyone. She mentions how she wishes one day, granted, would spare us all of life's hurt, heartache, and pains. We can see how three minds work way better than one as every part, every lyric and every feeling is so unique, "One More Day" gives us hope, to know everything will get better if we take it one day at a time. Ending off, Saltwater melodiously sings with passion, drive, and deep emotion. "One More Day" is a tune we enjoyed as the trio beautifully takes us out with the chorus singing "One More Day." Let's take our time on this journey with Saltwater and their recent single "One More Day." Welcome to BuzzMusic Saltwater, and congratulations on your latest release, "One More Day." We can feel the emotion and strife you put into "One More Day" what inspired this vulnerable yet heartfelt piece? This song was written by vocalist Eliana Lila during a moment of deep longing. It expresses a feeling of pain and regrets over lost moments but at the same time holds a sense of hope and gratitude that as long as we are still here, there is still time to learn and grow. There is a lot of pressure in this crazy modern world to do things right and to do them fast. However, each of us has our own pace at which we move forward, and this song talks about honoring that pace. Could you expand on the songwriting lyrics and production for "One More Day?" What did the three of you appreciate most about it? This song is really special to us because it was written specifically for our band. It was custom-made for our three voices and personalities, which is why we are so connected to it. The lyrics touch on a universal emotion we think many people can relate to -- hope for a second chance. The first time we sang this song together, something just clicked. It was like we found our own unique voice as a group, as Saltwater. This experience affected the way we sang and performed afterward. It was as though we had become one organism. Each one of us also went through rough moments during the recording process of this song. Having a joint project to pour our hearts into together was a powerful experience. It brought us closer together as friends and bandmates and enhanced our creativity. It was important to us that 'One More Day' be our first release. Sharing music with the world has been exciting yet, in some ways, terrifying. So for us, it was very helpful to have this song as a reminder to take things slowly and gently and not to be too harsh with ourselves. We had a constant reminder that our goal was to connect with people. How does "One More Day" contrast with the previous release? How does the song stand in terms of lyrics, concept, and sound? 'One More Day' is our first release. We look forward to sharing more songs and, eventually, our debut album. What impact do you hope this record has on your listeners? This song was written and recorded with much love and compassion. We really hope that it will inspire listeners to view their hardships in a compassionate light and allow people to connect with themselves and with others. We often wish we had more time, and the beauty is - we do. What's next for you? We are so excited to continue to share our music with the world. We have been playing together for quite some time, but we now finally have the chance to share our songs worldwide. We are looking forward to releasing our second single during the next couple of months and later releasing our debut album. We plan to continue to perform locally and hope to expand and connect with audiences around the world. Instagram Facebook
- Rich Trapper Is Ready To Rumble In "Game 6"
Coming in hot from South Central Los Angeles is the recording artist, songwriter, and rapper Rich Trapper with his highly-anticipated hit, "Game 6," off his latest EP of the same name. Rich Trapper has experienced his fair share of trials and tribulations. His one-of-a-kind situation started at the age of 12 after having his first child, combined with the pressures of growing up in South Central Los Angeles. Having grown up around the likes of Nipsey Hussle, Skeme, and Dom Kennedy, Rich Trapper says he developed an "elite level of focus" to make his desires a reality. He brings those themes to life in his latest EP, Game 6, especially in the project's title track. Rich Trapper says the project was inspired by various experiences like losing loved ones, family members landing life sentences, and being wanted by U.S. Marshals. Hitting play on the album's title track, "Game 6," the song brightly opens with vibrant synths and rich strings that lead us into a haunting yet thrilling atmosphere. Rich Trapper quickly jumps into his verse with incredible authority, grabbing our attention with ease right off the bat. The difference between Rich Trapper's vocal stylings and his intense flow is wild; he delivers enough heat and energy to make it seem like there are two artists on the track. This dynamic and hearty listening experience discusses determination and coming out on top even when life has you down and out. It's quite the thrilling track that lets us better understand the depth of Rich Trapper's personal bars and creative abilities. We highly encourage you to tune into greatness with Rich Trapper's latest hit, "Game 6," off his new 6-track EP, Game 6, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Rich Trapper. What an engaging and captivating experience you've provided with your latest hit, "Game 6." What inspired you to write this high-energy and conceptual track? The name project name “Game 6” came from Willie Joe, one of the A&Rs of Generation Now/Atlantic Records. The idea behind the project was to show I’m not only a contender but a winning competitor. In the world of basketball, Game 6 is an opportunity to end the series and claim a championship. The lead single, “Game 6,” Feat K.L. is the essence of the project. How does the single "Game 6" tie into the other tracks on your EP, Game 6? How does this song connect with the others on the project? The single “Game 6” touches briefly on every topic of each song on the project but mainly shows the ability to not only create a timeless record but show the hunger of an independent artist, as shown through each song on the “Game 6” EP. The aggressive LA flow met with the production of Apollo Jetson Bay Area slap provides the perfect combination to complement the songs before and after the project. How long did it take to create the entire 6-track EP, Game 6? When did you start executing ideas for the project? It took me about a year and a half. I’ve been helped a lot by two of Generation Now's lead A&Rs, Royce Monroe & Willie Joe. With that said, it was more than making great music, the rollout had to match. As an independent artist wanting a deal, it’s essential for me to handle business and present myself at the highest level. Yes, the project “Game 6” is out and available I’m still working daily to build the success of this project. How does the Game 6 EP contrast your 2020 album, Baby? What are the main differences between these two projects? "Game 6” is actually my first complete project for 2020, consisting of my two singles, “I Need A Bitch” produced by the late legend Traxamillion and “Swear To God,” prod by Apollo Jetson. These songs were the first songs I worked on with Royce and Willie Joe, and with these songs, I learned how to structure a record as well as the proper way to go about building an audience/market for my music. Being able to see what works and what doesn’t with those to single was huge in considering the way “Game 6” is presented. What do you hope to make listeners experience with the new EP, Game 6? What do you want the project to provide them with? With the “Game 6” project, I want you, the listener, to be inspired to be the best at what they do, no matter what it is. I know what it’s like to have every obstacle stacked against me, and yeah, some days are harder than others but on no day do I give up. I’m in a situation where I have to be a self-starter/motivator, and I know that’s the reality of most people, so I’m here to show that you can achieve at the highest levels by perfecting yourself. If you’re afraid to dream, that’s fine. You can put your dreams on me until you’re ready because I’m not in this for me alone I’m for the streets….the people. What's next for you? I’m working on my follow-up, “I’m still rich” I plan on finishing this while I’m in la on vacation (yeah, I record on vacation it’s never working when you love what you do). When I say “I’m still rich,” I’m not talking about the money aspect; I’m talking about life, love, morals, respect, happiness, god, and family, all that brings the money. “I’m still rich” will continue to show my ability to shine as an artist and brand. There will be a huge move starched to this project but for now, enjoy “Game 6” out now on all platforms. Instagram
- Hayden Joseph Grabs Our Attention In His Latest Release, “Dog Beers”
Hayden Joseph, the openly LGBT artist, defies this by creating a safe place in his music to talk about topics other experiences in his latest, catchiest song, "Dog Beers." Hayden's love for music was there since he could talk; being naturally gifted in music, it blossoms throughout his adult life. The South Carolina native is no stranger to the country scene, drawing inspiration from the likes of Taylor Swift and other major artists to cultivate his own niche. His southern charm caught the attention of listeners with his first single in 2019. Hayden's consistent releases have brought him many placements and the attention of Spotify playlist curators, giving him that extra shove in the right direction. "Dog Beers" (his latest release) brings us a more vivid picture and storyline of his life (if it was measured in dog years). "Dog Beers" begins with that southern-flavored guitar melody and tempo, setting the scene perfectly for Hayden to make his entrance. Hayden begins his storytelling, singing, "It's 5 0-clock on Friday, let's kiss the week goodbye". The weekend mood sets in as he brings through fun vocals giving us a perfect image of his excitement at the moment of him leaving work. The dog years reference comes through poetically, describing his weekend endeavors to be merely but a glimpse... as is 1 year for a dog, merely a glimpse. He mentions to have had many beers, but just 1 in "Dog Beers" - well played. The metaphoric reference seamlessly weaves this track together and brings forth a great listening experience at your fingertips. Hayden Joseph's creativity speaks volumes, writing everything from the heart; we are here on the receiving end, appreciating your creativity and intricate lyricism. Welcome to BuzzMusic Hayden. We adore your exciting new release, "Dog Beers"! What sparked the original idea to create such a masterpiece? The majority of my songs lean on the serious side, but every so often, I get the urge to write something silly. I got the idea for "Dog Beers" while "celebrating" my french bulldog's 1st birthday and drinking a spiked seltzer. I thought to myself, "wow, that phrase is RIGHT there." I brought the hook to a frequent collaborator, Bryan Ruby, and the song was born. What was the songwriting process like when writing "Dog Beers?" Was this a challenging process, or did your words just flow with ease? Nothing about writing this song was challenging :D. The title wrote itself. Once the idea was there, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, and we (my co-writer and I) wrote to the phrase, "In 'Dog Beers,' I've only had one." I would say it took less than an hour, and I think it turned out perfectly. How can listeners get to know you on a more personal level with "Dog Beers?" How does this song represent you? This is not the song to get to know me on a personal level ;). This is the song that will pique your interest and make you stumble upon the rest of my catalog. This song is meant to show versatility and a sense of humor (no one likes a guy who takes himself too seriously). If you want to get to know me on a more personal level, listen to my latest EP, "I'm Not There Yet," or my debut album, "Different." Did you work entirely solo, or did you have assistance with the production part of "Dog Beers?" I wrote the song with a frequent collaborator, "Bryan Ruby," and worked with producers that had a hand in several previous projects (Adam Sickler / Elysse Yulo). It takes a village, and they knocked it out of the park. Instagram Artist Website
- Brandon Anderson Steps Out of Society’s “Frame”
NYC's very own award-winning singer-songwriter and inspirational recording artist Brandon Anderson is embracing life's tumultuous journey in his latest album, Frame. Having crossed the country on two national tours and being named a Critics Pick by Time Out NY, there's no denying that Brandon Anderson is leaving an impact on the modern music scene. Listed on the Advocate's Hot Sheet and a finalist in the Ultimate Singer/Songwriter Contest, Anderson started to embrace a drastic tonal shift in his music throughout the pandemic. In the new album, Frame, we see the LGBTQ+ artist's journey from "Shadows" of self-sabotage to "Freedom" of stepping out of society's Frame. Between the intro and outro tracks lies the theme of how society often makes us reinforce narratives that are not our own. Anderson hopes the new record will "inspire others to find joy and authenticity in themselves, to shine a bit brighter," he says. The experience opens with the introductory track, a song we've graced before, "Shadows." We're met with glimmering synths that evoke a modern pop atmosphere alongside Brandon Anderson's warm vocals that flow through our speakers. He uses this sweet-sounding piece to ask for freedom from the "Shadows" and live life the way he desires. While passionately pleading to escape these dreadful moments, Anderson leads us to the vibrant outro with a glimmer of hope. The compelling story continues in track number two and the album's title track, "Frame." Anderson opens the song with his soft vocals, singing about idly listening to voices that demand he sit still and fit into the "Frame." From there, the energetic instrumentals and production gradually expand for a sonic thrill. This song is incredibly cathartic, and Anderson's honest lyrics are a compelling dissection of how we've let society condition us into believing what's wrong and what's right. Onto another track we've had the pleasure to feature, "Reborn," this refreshing experience kicks off with upbeat drums and cinematic pianos backed by powerful synths and Anderson's melodic vocals. Right off the bat, he throws us into those exhilarating life moments of realizing our power and being "Reborn" with a new perspective. It's a thrilling experience to say the least, packed with exciting electro-pop sonics and Brandon Anderson's irresistible performance stylings. On the album's midway point, "Watercolors," we melt into the haunting and melancholy piano melodies while Brandon Anderson picks us up with his velvety-smooth tones. As the delicate drums begin dancing through our speakers, Anderson expresses his innermost emotions in perhaps the most vulnerable song of the album. It's a song that praises vulnerability and opens up to those who might take us in, accept us, and encourage us to be ourselves. Ramping up the energy is track number five, "Pixelated Love," which instantly drenches us in an 80s synthpop atmosphere. The groovy electronic sonics and Brandon Anderson's tender vocals offer this sense of passion and desire that warms the heart and chills the spine. He offers quite the alluring and charismatic performance that helps us forget our stressors and bask in the memories and future moments we'll experience with that special person. From the jump of track number six, Brandon Anderson makes it clear that he wants us to "Dance." This thriller of a song opens with a driving kick drum that leads into Anderson's passionate verse, where he encourages us to make the most of life's dark moments and "Dance" the pain away. The smooth piano melodies paired with the punchy drums and Anderson's powerful vocals make this experience quite emotional; anyone can take something away from his motivational words of loving yourself on the outside and within. Reaching the album's seventh and outro track, "Freedom," we already feel like we're drifting into the final scenes of a movie about Brandon Anderson's personal journey. The soothing background pads open the song while Anderson sings of the years wasted by fear and living by society's unofficial rules. The lack of drums gives the song a tender ambiance that feels like a daydream until halfway through, when the soft percussion melts our speakers with pent-up emotion. He closes this cinematic masterpiece by reminding us to not look back but to keep our eyes set on the abundant future. When you're ready to take an in-depth look at Brandon Anderson's personal journey, an experience shared by many, find his latest compelling album, Frame, on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Brandon Anderson. We truly appreciate the detailed and inspirational storyline throughout your recent album, Frame. What experiences inspired you to create an album about stepping out of society's frame? Thank you! FRAME was definitely inspired by the break in my life because of the pandemic. For the first time in my adult life, I was forced to stop, and all my work and social life came to a halt. Without the distractions of daily life and the drive to "what's next?" I was left alone with myself for a bit. (Both literally and figuratively). I decided I might as well do some work there, so I started working out, and in the process of focusing on myself, I began to have some realizations - about myself and about how my perception of myself was deeply informed by the society around me. Being isolated, that outside frame began to fall away, and I started seeing parts of myself that I had hidden away because of societal pressures, because of wanting to fit in or be loved. I strangely found expanding freedom in my isolation, and once I saw the truth that was hidden there, I didn't want to go back to old patterns once the pandemic was over. Writing this album was really a way to force me to share what I discovered and to hold myself accountable - to not let myself step back into the frame. Is there any significance to the tracklist order in Frame? Does this specific song order tell the story you wanted to get across? Well, I am someone who still loves to listen to a whole album. I love albums that are crafted and tell a story. I used to buy CDs (dating myself) and would go home and light some candles and lay on the floor and listen to the whole thing with the lyric booklet. It was an experience, and I think it deepens the music, so all of my albums strive to do the same thing. For FRAME, the tracklist follows my journey - and one I think a lot of people have - from the Shadows of doubt and self-censorship/sabotage to the freedom of releasing yourself from the Frame put upon you by a society living authentically in your own skin. There is also a sexual liberation happening in this album, and songs like Pixelated Love and Watercolors speak to that part of the journey. How would you describe your sound in Frame? What genres or sounds influenced this album? FRAME has been a big departure in sound from my previous albums. While my last two were folk rock and alternative, this album falls squarely in the pop category. I have always had very eclectic music tastes, and good pop music has always been a big part of what I listen to. Nothing makes you feel more alive than a good pop song, and this album really is a celebration of discovery and growth, of embracing the moment you are in. I also think I found myself listening to more pop music during the pandemic as an escape and as a part of workout mixes, and the idea of writing in the genre really took hold. For influences, I definitely think Robyn is a big one, as well as MUNA, Sylvan Esso, KEVZ, and Gregory Dillon, with a splash of Carly Rae Jepsen. What was the most challenging part about creating Frame? Did you encounter any personal or emotional difficulties? The most challenging part was forgiving myself. When you make a discovery that you have still not been living authentically after all these years, there is anger at yourself - you feel like you wasted or lost time. You start to question how your life would be different if you had made other choices and if you had been brave enough to live truthfully from the beginning, but that is a dead end. All you have is the moment you are in to make a new choice, but letting go is always hard. Freedom, the last track on the album, is my letting go - of embracing the journey I am on, of loving myself for what that journey has made me. What was the main realization you wanted listeners to have when experiencing Frame? What do you hope they take from the album? Joy. Radical Joy. There are definitely some deeper themes on FRAME, but I truly feel like it's a fun and joyful album. I want people to love themselves and embrace the journey they are on, and feel brave enough to live authentically because, in that authenticity, you will find your deepest joy. And I want them to dance a bit. What's next for you? I have a new music video for Shadows coming out soon, as well as a few more videos from the album, so stay tuned. Also working on some new music and some collaborations, so I'm very excited about that. Instagram Facebook

It took us a few months to create this song before summer. As kids, our favorite season is summer, and our song talks about things and activities kids love to do during the summer, like going to the beach, playing video games, hanging out with friends, doing silly TikTok, and hanging in the pool. This is where we get our inspiration from, our favorite season, “Summertime”! What's the message you want people to take away from "Summertime"? Our message is about kids being kids. Let's wrap our emotions in Chayce Kennedy's new hit single "NO," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Chayce Kennedy! We've appreciated every second of your reflective and genuine new single "NO" what was your main source of inspiration behind this personal piece? My main source of inspiration was the experience of growing up in my generation nowadays and finding that many challenges occur along the way with society and how you have to be able to stand up for yourself and know your worth rather than letting others determine that for yourself. I feel that is a lesson we learn growing up. What was the most rewarding part about creating "NO?" What did you most appreciate about the experience? The most rewarding part about creating “NO” was being able to watch it evolve from the first moment walking into the studio generating ideas to Brian West (Grammy producer) then trying out sounds using his creative brilliance and ear to create a vibe and me thinking of a storyline and writing lyrics. All of these different parts of the process then evolving make the story. I most appreciated the vibe of working with Brian West. It was a very creative space, and all my ideas were heard and respected, which hasn’t been the case in the past with me being a younger female artist. What does "NO" mean to you? How can listeners understand you and your music better through this emotional single? For me, “NO” means self-empowerment and independence. Listeners can understand me and my music better through “NO,” as my motive is to always have a positive message through my music, and for this song, it was knowing your worth and not letting others determine it for you. Did you have any specific music influences in mind when you were creating "NO?" Did you want listeners to be reminded of a certain artist or creator when hearing this tune? When I was creating “NO,” I wanted a song that was different and edgy from what I have done before. I wanted a sound like the Billie Eilish vibe with the unique sounds and dark vibe. - SCayos & Annie Elise Team Up For A Big Debut, "Walkaway"
From Mumbai, India, pianist, producer, songwriter, and composer SCayos teams up with the harmonious vocals stylings of Annie Elise for his debut single, "Walkaway." SCayos is currently a student and Boston's Berklee College of Music. It wasn't until 2021 that he began releasing solo tunes, including his debut beat tape, Ethereal Nights. He recently released his EP, shortstories, and is currently working towards a debut album that starts with the release of the lead single, "Walkaway." The new track is in collaboration with 20-year-old vocalist Annie Elise, who's no stranger to the music scene. SCayos says he wanted to release the song as the album's lead single "because it gives context to other songs on the record." He added that the protagonist still hasn't lost their partner but is still grieving the moment it may happen. Expanding on the new song, "Walkaway," we're met with smooth lo-fi drums alongside lush guitar melodies and gentle keys that rain down from above. Annie Elise's peaceful and gentle vocals slowly appear while serenading us with harmonious melodies that send chills down the spine. She continues discussing those terrifying moments of feeling like someone might leave her behind for someone new. This song has so much natural heart and soul in it, from the production to Elise's soothing vocals. SCayos does an incredible job of laying the tender and emotional atmosphere for Elise to add the soulful cherry on top. As we reach the outro, SCayos's expansive production floats through our speakers while Elise's tranquil vocals send us into a daydream. When you're in need of something to mend your broken heart, sit back and relax with SCayos and Annie Elise's new single, "Walkaway," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, SCayos. We're so impressed with the emotional and relatable experience within your debut single, "Walkaway." What moments or experiences inspired this vulnerable piece? Unfortunately, the way life goes, everyone experiences grief all the time. I would be lying if I said that the song stems from one experience. This song amalgamates all of my painful life experiences from my first heartbreak to my grandma passing away to losing my childhood pet dog, Toffee. It's a collection of them that inspired Walkaway and the other songs on this record. Was this your first time working with vocalist and electronic artist Annie Elise for "Walkaway"? What was your collaborative experience like? This isn't the first time we've worked together! We've worked on some other projects producing and remixing for other artists, but this is the first time we're working on something just the two of us. We also have TONS of joints in the vault! How did you want the production and sonics in "Walkaway" to make listeners feel? What was your goal with the song's overall atmosphere? This may be a little cheesy, but I mean every word of this. I have a very simple goal with my music - to not make people feel like they're alone. After every moment of loss, I couldn't help but feel alone, and it is a terrifying experience. Music really helped me not feel alone in those moments and give me company. I want to give others the experience I had with music in those moments. What does "Walkaway" mean to you? How can listeners understand you and your music better through this emotional debut single? Walkaway means so much to me. Most of the music I've put out so far has been instrumental beats; however, this record is some of my best and most diverse work. This marks a new chapter in SCayos, and I'm really excited for everyone to listen to the new music! Instagram Instagram

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Fatal Conceit. Congratulations on releasing your sincere single, "Devil’s Little Helper." What inspired this piece? Thank you so much for having us! We’re so dang excited about this thing. Believe or not, we didn’t actually write this song. Back a few years—2018, I think—we worked with a drummer named Hunter Grunwald when we were in a band called Vox Ad Nil. Hunter brought the song to the band we were in at the time, and it was always well received by audiences back then. Fast forward a few years to summer 2021, we had just released Takin Back the Name and our producer at the time was discussing the follow-up with me, and he suggested I knock the dust off of Devil’s Little Helper. So, I reached out to Hunter—who’s still drumming, now with a group called The Half Of It—and asked if he’d be alright with us using his song, and with his blessing, we got to work on the recording. Could you expand on your songwriting process for "Devil’s Little Helper?” Do you face any difficult moments when writing lyrics? Well, when Hunter pitched the song back in 2018, he was very nearly finished with the work. He had already produced a pretty fleshed-out demo. He allowed me to tweak the lyrics a little back then, so we kept those small alterations when bringing the song to Fatal Conceit. But there was always this question about what to do with the middle of the song. We tried a bunch of stuff. Xavier, our lead guitarist back in 2018, wrote a solo that was very shredd-y but had a lot of live variation. Shawn, our producer at this time last year, experimented with a disgusting hardcore-type breakdown. I tried my hand at a solo— truthfully, it wasn’t a very good one. But then Pizza Joe Blake, who only just joined us last September, wrote the nasty shred-fest that made it to this latest recording. As far as lyric writing goes generally, we find ourselves asking what kind of band we want to be. We have to consider whether what we’re doing would fall more into the category of “art” or more “entertainment,” and, whenever possible, we want to strike at something deeper than simple entertainment. This makes lyric writing generally very difficult. It’s so easy to write nonsense to accompany the music, but we want our music to have more to say. While we didn’t compose these lyrics in their entirety, the reason this song resonates so much with us and with our audience is that it does strike at that deeper something. Did you have any artistic influences or projects in mind when creating the single "Devil’s Little Helper?” We were really channeling our affinity for Breaking Benjamin and Avenged Sevenfold on this number. They both provide a dark aesthetic for the audience to bask in. The riff that Hunter wrote feels very much like that early Breaking Benjamin stuff, and the solo Joe put together evokes the same sort of agile yet powerful shredfest you might hear from Synyster Gates. What does "Devil’s Little Helper" mean to you? For me personally, this song is representative of a profound disappointment in a love lost tragedy, expressed in a tantrum through the veil of pain and heartbreak. The narrator gives us a lament from the imperfect perspective of the jilted. It’s worth pointing out that the lyrics are explicit and that it’s really about being disappointed about not being able to see the deception. That’s really what it’s about for me. What's next for you? Well, in the near term, we’re doing a couple of private shows but our focus will be on completing a feature-length album in the next year or so. Just put drums in the can for two of the songs this week. One of those songs is our next single, titled “Under the Ashes.” Instagram Facebook
