- Grey King Leaves Lies In The Past With, "Delusional"
From Memphis to Los Angeles, singer-songwriter and r&b recording artist Grey King dives into an emotional experience we can all relate to with their debut single, "Delusional." Since embarking on their writing journey with 30+ books, Grey King has moved into songwriting with help from influences like Aaliyah, Whitney Houston, Brandy, Monica, and more. Through a warm r&b/pop sound and honest lyrics, Grey King strives to touch people's hearts and give listeners a soundtrack to their days. King's stunning debut single, "Delusional," was one hell of a way to start a music career. They describe the song as "the moment we wake up from the lies we tell ourselves that keep us stagnant." Through a stimulating blend of dark r&b production and modern drum/piano arrangements, Grey King keeps us locked in as they move inner mountains. Expanding on the new single, "Delusional," we're met with soft piano melodies that slowly drift into the verse alongside Grey King's breathy and chilling vocals. Listening to their lyrics, King sings an honest message about the many memories that linger with someone special but knowing that the positives don't outweigh the negatives. As we move forward, the song's dark r&b synths begin expanding and drowning our speakers in a gripping, soulful vibe that matches Grey King's vulnerable lyrics perfectly. Towards the outro, King recollects their thoughts and expresses how they've grown to redefine themselves and what they stand for. "Loving me is more than this," they sing. The song slowly comes to a close while Grey King pleads to keep their sanity and move forward on their personal journey. Perhaps there's no better way to wake up and smell the roses than with Grey King's honest debut single, "Delusional," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Grey King. Congratulations on releasing your beautiful and sincere debut single, "Delusional." What inspired this deeply emotional piece? Thank you for having me and thank you so much! So “Delusional” actually stems from the very hard subject of abusive relationships and what keeps us in them. Sometimes our heads are telling us to leave while our hearts are keeping us there. It is a sense of delusion that keeps us stagnant. Delusion that they will change, that they will go back to how they were, that you can survive what they do to prove you love them. I know that I lived with those delusions for a long time until one day I decided that I didn’t want that anymore. It wasn’t as easy as just saying no more and leaving it took time but deciding that I didn’t want to be delusional about them as a person anymore was the first step. Why did you want to release "Delusional" as the first official track of your solo career? How can listeners get to know you through this song? “Delusional” was my first official track because of how much it meant for me to even write it. Admitting that those past abusive situations even exist is hard for me but I put pen to paper and this was the product. I felt like I needed to share it to remind people in similar situations that they aren’t alone and the first step is an important one. I think I think my listeners can learn about who I am and how far I’ve come from this one track alone. They can see the growth in me even from just one song What was the hardest part about creating such an honest piece like "Delusional"? Did you face any personal or physical challenges? I’m going to be honest, I bawled when I first wrote this song. Like big dramatic ugly tears. Because for me there were little flashbacks. Flashbacks of broken promises, bruises, heartbreaks, and how long and hard I had to work to put the pieces back together again. It took me three false starts with this song to even really finish it. Once it was finished I had to put it away and cry about it. It felt cleansing but cleansing and healing yourself can hurt and this song definitely hurt. But I feel so much better for even having wrote it let alone put it out there. What do you hope the listener feels or realizes after hearing "Delusional"? What was your goal? I hope that they can hear that they aren’t alone. I hope that if they are currently in a bad situation that even just realizing that the situation is bad is an important first step. I want them to know that yeah, it’s gonna hurt to take the rose-tinted glasses off but in the end, things will get better and they can grow. What's next for you? Currently, the debate is EP or single release but I do have two new songs in the works they are titled “Let Me Love You” and “Ride”. The end goal for me is to make music that gets back to my 90s R&B roots. And I think that those two tracks are going to do that for me. I just really want to keep making music that can speak to people and me for that matter. instagram.com/greykingofficial

Serenading us from Hampshire, UK is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Laura Loh with her breathtaking and personal new single, "Closer." Laura Loh was born into a musical family. The classically trained vocalist, pianist, and violinist turned to the guitar at 13 years old. It was there that Loh realized her skill in songwriting and music creation. Now, she creates a blissful sound that ranges from alternative pop to alternative folk. When Laura Loh's not gracing studios with her mesmerizing vocals, playing popular festivals, or serenading radio listeners, she's hard at work expanding her craft. The UK-based recording artist recently released her compelling new single, "Closer," which clutches the soul with relatable themes of finally becoming who you want to be. Listening to "Closer," the song calmly opens with downtempo, airy drums alongside lush organs and soothing piano melodies. As Laura Loh's soft vocals expand on picking herself up and looking to the future with optimism, she floats her way over to the hook that leaves us chilled to the bone. This song has so much tender emotion, and Laura Loh's vulnerability is truly inspiring. While singing about getting "Closer" to where and who she wants to be, Loh reminds us that scars and traumas are what made us the powerful and strong people we are today. "Closer" is soothing, and Loh does an incredible job of taking her past pains and using them as inspiration for a brighter future. We're sure any listener will appreciate the hope she brings to the table in this anthem for self-forgiveness and personal growth. Lift your mind, body, and soul with Laura Loh's recent touching single, "Closer," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Laura Loh. You've truly left us inspired after listening to your new single, "Closer." Were there any moments or experiences that inspired you to create this personal piece? Wow, thank you! “Closer” is about recovery and personal growth, inspired by my experience with mental health. I was going through a hard time and I wrote this song to remind myself that it’s okay to fall down and take your time. Just pick yourself back up and keep going. I felt so inspired when writing it that I got totally carried away with it and ended up producing my own song for the first time. It was a really therapeutic and fun creative experience for me. What did your songwriting process look like for "Closer?" Did you encounter any challenges, or was it rather easy to let your words and thoughts flow? It felt easy. I think because the song is so personal and honest, I was really able to just let the words come out and not overthink it. I remember sitting down at the piano and having the full song written pretty quickly. Songwriting is like therapy for me and writing “Closer” was definitely a healing process. When I started writing it, I could already hear certain elements of the final production, like the heavy drums, the strings in the background, and the organ sound. I always had a very clear vision in my head. I loved arranging the vocals, especially that middle eight section - stacking harmonies is always fun. This song is like a piece of me and I'm so excited to finally share it! Do you want listeners to find a sense of hope in "Closer?" What do you want them to experience when listening? Absolutely, I want people to find hope and comfort in this song, just as I did when writing it. In my experience, when I open up about my mental health, it encourages other people to do the same. It has sparked conversations with people in my life who are struggling with the same things. I think we all have a tendency to be too hard on ourselves. I hope this song reminds people to celebrate the progress that they are making every day, no matter how small. It's so easy to focus only on how far away you are from your goal, and how much work there still is to do, but I want to encourage a more positive perspective. You may not be there yet, but you are getting closer to where you want to be. Do you usually create such personal, emotional, and vulnerable songs like "Closer?" Would you say that's a big part of your artistic approach? I’m always true to myself in my music. I guess I’m most inspired to write when I’m feeling emotional. I started writing songs because I needed a safe space to express myself and process my thoughts and feelings. Having said that, not all of my songs are quite as emotional and vulnerable as “Closer.” My last release “Morning Light” was much lighter and happier, but still felt very personal to me. I love experimenting creatively and wouldn’t want to limit myself. I write whatever I feel at the time. What's next for you? Lots more music to come this year! I think it’s a nice mix of vulnerable, personal songs and also some more fun, light-hearted stuff. I’m really enjoying writing new songs and taking on this new challenge of producing my music! I can’t wait to share more soon… Instagram Facebook

I don't know what to do" shows us the deeper meaning behind the concept of this banger. BLNK opens up this record with lively vocals to lead us into this hyper-pop track. Zai sings about his love and keeps searching for her. He tells us that he prefers to keep his head in the clouds, but the downside would be that he's drifting away from her. Danny joins in on the action, singing, "I don't have time left. It's wasted all on you," reiterating the feeling of heartache brought through by Zai toward the opening of the track. Teaming up for the second half of the record, BLNK collaborates and executes an epic vocal performance. Indecisive on whether or not she's the one or not is the most mentally strenuous thought process ever, having to juggle the 101 possibilities that the future holds for your relationship. - Andii Styron Melts Our Speakers In ‘Thawing Out’
From Massachusetts to West Palm Beach, Florida, singer-songwriter and versatile new-age folk recording artist Andii Styron crashes the scene with her brilliant debut EP, 'Thawing Out.' Andii Styron is known for transforming the folk community through her exhilarating lyricism, soft-rock, and blues influence. Her versatile stylings are reminiscent of acts like Brandi Carlile, Eva Cassidy, Fleetwood Mac, and John Mayer. With a goal to help listeners feel understood amid life's challenges, Andii Styron is bringing that mission to life in her debut 5-track EP, 'Thawing Out.' The project is said to be written out of bitterness and anger, but the overall upbeat vibe helps us see Styron in a different, refreshing light. The EP opens with the introductory track, "Heavy," which flows through our speakers with a warm acoustic guitar that leads us into the groovy alternative-folk instrumental. As Andii Styron makes her airy and vibrant vocal appearance, she flows through the song with incredible confidence while singing of life's "Heavy" burdens and yearning to let go of what she shouldn't be holding onto. It's a big, bold, and groovy tune, the perfect intro track for such a cathartic EP. Reaching the second track, "In My Own Way," Andii Styron throws us into a brighter, feel-good folk-rock atmosphere through a cheerful and upbeat introduction. Her first verse offers whimsical and enthusiastic energy that's truly intoxicating, and Styron's relatable lyrics are another compelling aspect. While thanking God that heartbreak can't kill, it's clear she's dealing with love's trials and tribulations while finding new, optimistic ways to move forward. Landing on the EP's third track and halfway mark, "You Thought," Andii Styron slows things down with ethereal electric guitar picking and her fluid, angelic vocals. While singing of pulling herself out of a deep, dark hole, Andii Styron continues serenading us with all the heart and soul she can find. The smooth and gentle instrumentals slowly expand on the outro, where Styron reminds us that sometimes, we don't need any other source of motivation but from ourselves in order to feel understood, heard, and seen. Jumping into the groovy and heavy fourth track, "(Tell Me) How It Feels," we're met with a soulful and sensual electric guitar melody that leads us into Andii Styron's beautiful first verse. She brings so much soul and energy to this track, especially on the spirited hook where she unleashes her anger and distaste for someone while wishing they would feel what they made her experience. It's a powerful, punchy track that hits us with a unique instrumental soundscape to keep the energy flowing from top to bottom. Making our way to the EP's fifth and final track, "Slip of The Tongue," we drift into a bright and beaming folk-rock instrumental while Andii Styron jumps into her charismatic first verse. We must mention that Styron's overall performance and vocal stylings bring vast similarities to the soul and power of Fiona Apple, but with this unique and spicy attitude that's packed with energy. In this outro track, she wastes no time throwing a few jabs at an ex while expressing how she's thrilled to not have the capacity to hurt people as they can. It's a spiteful, lively breakup anthem that closes the project with nothing but strength and empowerment. In need of a pick-me-up? Get your dose of energy with a dash of spite in Andii Styron's debut 5-track EP, 'Thawing Out,' now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Andii Styron. We're thrilled to feature such a personal and empowering EP as your debut, 'Thawing Out.' When did you begin writing songs and executing ideas for this project? How long did it take to finalize? Firstly, thank you so much for your time! This is awesome. I'm super excited to be featured by you guys! Yes, you nailed it on the head with this EP being "personal and empowering." I feel like this whole EP's writing process was also a healing process as well as a growing/learning process for my raging emotions as a young woman. I first wrote "In My Own Way" and "Heavy" in the same week when I was 20 years old in my bedroom. I was going through a lot at once within my relationship and myself, so I took a step back and really tried to see what was stopping me the most on my journey in that time frame I was in. Within that, I learned that I am the only one in control of myself, and sometimes I'm the only one holding myself back. After writing those two songs, I felt so much better due to the constant internal turmoil I was putting myself through daily. From that point on, I had a feeling that I was onto something. I wasn't completely rid of the feelings I had, so I knew more songs needed to be created as time went on. Within the year 2021, I had written "(Tell Me) How it Feels" in my friend's apartment with a few other buddies, and they created this awesome riff on the guitar and just pressed record and told me to sing. Luckily that day, I was feeling very angry, so that song portrays that emotion, I think, pretty clearly! "Slip of the Tongue" had a similar writing process as the first songs. I was feeling spiteful and petty about some situations in my then-failed relationship, so it really was meant to stand out in fun yet taunting way. A few months now go by, and I look at what I have, and I figured I had already written a song about my wrongs, a song about self-pity, a song about my anger, and a song about feeling spiteful, so I figured the last song should be accepting all that I've gone through. That's where I wrote "You Thought," which is basically about brushing yourself off and moving on. That's essentially where I thought of the name "Thawing Out." In order to write these songs, I had to feel so many emotions and get through them to move on to the next. I felt less cold-hearted in a sense after writing them, and, all in all, I just felt better. I felt like I had changed and became more loving and aware. So, I had started "thawing out" in a sense. This whole process took about a year to complete all five songs. I had many different versions of them that I would pick apart until I felt they portrayed exactly how I felt. What experiences or moments inspired you to create the 'Thawing Out' EP? The experiences that inspired me to write these songs were strictly related to my relationships with my family, my girlfriend, and myself. It was all purely emotions. Nothing along the lines of physically going through something or having a life-altering moment. It was purely internal. I'm a very emotional person. I'm a Pisces as well, so I mean, anyone who knows astrology knows that we're sensitive and internalize our emotions and fixate on them! I had gone through an experience with infidelity with my partner, which left me feeling like I wasn't good enough. All the while, I was having a hard time maintaining a consistently positive relationship with my mom. I had felt very alone and unwanted and unloved at the end of the day. Music always was there for me. Did you have any musical influences or projects in mind when creating the sound and vibe for 'Thawing Out?' Did any artists influence the EP? So, when I write songs, I usually write the song lyrics out first with no melody in mind. I just writing. Once I feel the song has all the proper components of how I was feeling, I'll pick my guitar up and put music to it. I listen to so many different bands and artists, so I feel like it's a compilation of all the main ones I love the most. Sticking to a genre is tricky. Sometimes I have a country-rock feel, other times. It's indie or straight rock. The music itself wasn't really influenced by anyone. My team had helped mold the music pretty well, but the lead vocals and backing vocals were mostly influenced by the amazing Brandi Carlile, Sherly Crow, and Melissa Ethridge. I love the vocal techniques they use and how they can get rough within their sound yet remain bright and in control. Which song from 'Thawing Out' did you have the most fun creating? What was so rewarding about that experience? I think the song that I had the most fun creating was "(Tell Me) How it Feels." I love this song. It's, I think, the most "in your face" song off the EP, and I used a lot of different vocal variations in it as well. That song took the longest to record, mainly because I have so many harmonies in that song, and I had to layer them over and over. My friend Glenn Rockenstein, who recorded me, had a huge part in pushing me to my vocal limits on that song, but it was well worth it. I needed to portray a form of angry desperation for that song, so the high notes at the end definitely flooded me with feelings. The best way I can describe how rewarding that experience would be… picture it as if you're walking into the studio with a caged animal, and it's been caged for a long, long time. And you're finally able to let it out and run loose and see what it can do. It's something that's yours, and you can't wait to show it to the world for what it is. What was your end goal with 'Thawing Out?' What did you want the project to represent, and what did you want the listener to experience? My end goal with this EP was to give the listener the same experience I had always experienced while listening to music. I always just wanted to feel included and understood. I want nothing more than someone going through emotional turmoil to hear one of my songs and think, “Wow she felt like how I feel.”. I want it to represent that those transformations don’t always happen visually. They can happen over time inside and emotionally and it’s okay to take time with it. That’s why it’s entitled “Thawing Out” and not “Thawed Out” because I mean, I’m still thawing out as we speak. Things take time in life, music just makes it easier, and I just want someone to feel less alone at the end of the day. Instagram Facebook

Doctor Yizzle takes us on a soul journey with his new single, "miserable!" available now on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Doctor Yizzle. We are so excited to have you with us! We love the vibes "miserable!" brings. Please tell us what the creative process was like when creating it and why you chose the instrumental you did? Thank you! Excited to be on here. The creative process when creating this song was quite an emotional experience. I don’t remember much because I tend to black out when creating songs, but from what I can remember, I mumbled most of the melody, and then I stepped away from it. Then came back to it months later. I asked myself, what is this song about? So I heard this guitar sample from this loop pack I got and the guitar captivated me. I thought it was an epic-sounding melody, and I wanted to fuse it with live rock drums with more of a fun bouncy drum line. I was imagining this sound being performed live, and I wanted to sing a melody that is easy for people to sing along to. That is why in the beginning of the song, it has the catchiest melody part of the song, in my opinion. I wanted the song to feel more like an experience to people rather than listening to my lyrics attentively. I freestyled most of this song and just allowed my mind to speak. "miserable!" is a very emotional record. Tell us how you got so comfortable when recording it and what that experience was like? I always want to be completely honest and vulnerable through my music as it is a reflection of my soul. I want people to be healed through it and create a feeling that other people are feeling. Know that you are never alone in any feeling you are feeling. Creating this song was truly a cathartic experience. I wanted to release everything, and you could hear that through my piercing vocals. And don’t worry, I am good now, haha. As an artist who grew up listening to rap, who do you most take inspiration from and why? Even though I grew up listening to rap, I take inspiration from every single genre. On the top of my head, the artists that inspire me are Kanye West, XXXTentacion, Nirvana, Kendrick Lamar, Etc. I listen to a plethora of artists, so the list of who inspires my music is endless. Oh! I got to say Eminem’s storytelling and his whole life story definitely inspired me deeply when I was a child listening to him. What's the message you're delivering in "miserable!" That we all have these thoughts in our heads. It is okay to allow yourself to feel. At the epitome of your body receiving overwhelming feelings at once, just let it out. Let your rage out. Let your sadness out. ALLOW YOURSELF TO FEEL EMOTIONS. You can still be strong while doing so. You won’t ever be deemed as “weak” as long as you stay true to yourself and your emotions. What's next for you? Creating more impactful music. I am going to do everything I set my mind out to do. Nothing will stop me. I want my music to heal people in ways that others cannot. I will only get better at making music and make a positive impact on this world. Instagram Twitter

- Emilio Hinojosa’s “Your Name” Sparks Passion for Listeners
Keep reading to hear about the recent release from Emilio Hinojosa, “Your Name,” a fearless and lively song with a web of different genre elements. Growing up in Mexico and the United States, Emilio Hinojosa was always surrounded by culture. What started as a love of poetry and music transformed into a love of songwriting and performing. Never stagnant, Emilio always hopes to try new things and varieties of music. With some electronic, pop, and R&B elements, “Your Name” is a unique and memorable blend of sounds. “Your Name” starts softly with just Emilio’s vocals and a guitar and quickly sucks you in with the slow introduction of more elements. First a sedated beat, then some electric guitar, a more pronounced beat, and some synth characteristics. All these are underlying Emilio’s strong and crisp vocals. Each part of the song stands out as an individual, showcasing Emilio’s want to always keep things fresh. Some parts will have you dancing along, and others will pull you back to reality. Heavier instrumentation makes an appearance in the chorus, driving home those lyrics. Emilio Hinojosa sings about being stuck in floods of memories and how hard it is to let those go. He sings, “Am I the only one that’s in love with the past,” highlighting those emotions. After some hard-hitting choruses and expressive verses, a more stripped-down last few lines brings the focus back to Emilio’s voice. You are left feeling the emotions in his vocals and uplifted from the energetic and refreshing production. Check out “Your Name,” now available on all streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Emilio, and congratulations on your latest release, "Your Name." Where did the creative process start for you with this song? What was the songwriting process like? For 'Your Name,' the process started with the idea of making a song that those who couldn't relate to the song before this one, 'if you had stayed,' could relate to. I started this song on the piano instead of the guitar, unlike the start the song suggests You mentioned that you love experimenting with collaborators – producers, writers, etc. Were there any creative collaborations with "Your Name?" How do you go about choosing who will be the right fit for a song? I did not work with any different collaborators on this project. Apart from my producer, it's remained the same. However I have worked with local talent in the form of some musicians I occasionally gig with. What was something that challenged you about any part of the process of creating "Your Name?" The chorus was very challenging to make. I wanted to say something catchy but not nonsense. Something that felt real, like looking back on a certain place in time with someone. In the end, I really leaned into the theme of a high school sweethearts storyline. How has your journey been going from a lover of music and poetry to now an artist available for streaming? Has anything changed about your process since you started releasing music to the world? Ever since I had my awakening to my passion for music, I've always been dreaming of being able to have my music on someone's playlist or to have a crowd to play to. This dream is slowly growing into something far beyond what I could imagine. I've gotten the chance to work with some amazingly talented people and shoot music videos that I am immensely proud of. A lot has changed in my process of releasing music, in the sense of having information and data on what people like to see from me the most. Which helps a lot in both ways, as an artist trying to cater to an audience, and as a songwriter seeing that their words are connecting with people I haven't even met. Instagram Facebook
- ECHLO Expresses Unforgettable Moments In "Soul Savant"
Toronto-based singer-songwriter and dark pop, jazz, and folk recording artist ECHLO express stimulating sensations in her latest captivating single, "Soul Savant." Born Chloe Charles, ECHLO began releasing music in the 2010s through sounds like jazz and folk. It wasn't until recently that she started dabbling in the mystical and sultry world of dark pop. Inspired by acts like Sade and Massive Attack, ECHLO combines electronic influences and live percussion to create her own soulful sound. She showcases this perfectly in her newest single, "Soul Savant," the latest release from her forthcoming album, I Was I. ECHLO describes the song as the moment "you meet someone who unconsciously understands the need for your soul, whose DNA completes yours" and knows how to align with your journey. Produced by Neil Whitford at Revolution Recording, "Soul Savant" opens with spacey and soft electric guitar picking alongside gentle percussion to set the moody and dark tone. Before we know it, ECHLO's tender and airy vocals seep through our speakers with enchanting melodies that clutch the soul. She delicately serenades us with her broad vocal range while paying homage to those sensations she felt when aligning with her soulmate. The song's instrumentals slowly begin to expand with added percussion and vast background pads that float into harmonic bliss. There's so much soul and passion in this song; it washes over our ears like a bountiful waterfall of devotion. There's no denying that ECHLO's vocals are stunning, but her vulnerable lyrics and haunting delivery make the experience otherwordly. Give your ears the sonic sweetness they deserve with ECHLO's latest single, "Soul Savant," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, ECHLO. Your genuine and passionate performance in the new single "Soul Savant" was a true treat. Why did you want to create a song about the moment you align with your soulmate? It was an unexpected whirlwind of an experience that set my entire life on a new trajectory. I felt like I’d jumped onto a conveyor belt and was fast-forwarded to where I was meant to be. It felt and still feels pretty deserving of a song. Was it easy to be so open and passionate when writing your honest lyrics in "Soul Savant"? What was your experience writing the song? I never censor myself when I first write a song. Only after do I edit it down, but for this track, I didn’t feel the need to. The lyrics found their way from my subconscious to my lips. It was a little like stream-of-consciousness writing. How did producer Neil Whitford help bring "Soul Savant" to life? What was it like teaming up with him? He created the instrumental track which was the perfect bed for me to improvise and allow the words to bubble up. We’ve worked together in many forms in music and he is a very close friend so working with him makes being honest and uninhibited easy. Will we hear "Soul Savant" on your upcoming album, I Was I? How is this new album different from your previous records? You definitely will hear it on “I Was I”. This album was more collaborative. I worked with producers Niel Whitford, Lucas Marston, Waqaas Hamishi, and Mike Tompa which allowed me to focus on the vocal melody and lyrics. It’s more beat-driven and in some ways accessible. What's next for you? I’ve set out to collaborate with visual artists, mostly in motion graphics, for each of my songs. I have an “Art Interpretation Series” where I pair with artists whose work inspires me and I give them free rein to interpret my song visually. My first collaboration is with Artur Gadzhiev for Soul Savant and I am absolutely in love with what he created. Please take a look because it is incredibly sensual and hypnotizing. All his work is gorgeous and gives the mind space to imagine. I am much more excited to work with visual artists than to just promote my song. To me, it’s like my music gets to be the soundtrack to someone else’s work. I am also working on an “Art Collaboration Series” where the visuals are more collaborative and I might happen to make an appearance. Our first video was with Dusty Dean, a wildly colorful, spunky, and prolific animator. Check him out too! instagram.com/echlo
